Just like its notoriously difficult predecessor, Remnant 2 is a challenging game, so it's unlikely you'll be considering a step up in difficulty. If you are just that good though, or are after the more realistic step down, it's not all that straightforward to do, so we've delved into the worlds of Remnant II to find out how it's done. There are four Remnant 2 difficulty levels, and given the challenging nature of the game series, 'easy mode' is actually recommended for most - that is to say, the lowest difficulty. None are "easy". As such, if you want the best chance of surviving the terrifying Remnant 2 bosses ahead, be it alone or in co-op, you're better off starting low. Arena is a 2v2v2v2 competition, pitting four teams of two champions against each other in increasingly deadly rounds until only one remains. It's all-action, and frankly, a ton of fun, but it can be extremely tough if you don't know what team compositions work well, as what works on the Rift doesn't necessarily work in the Arena. The free PC game doesn't add new game modes very often, and what they did have (Twisted Treeline) was removed a long time ago to consolidate the playlists. Arena mode, however, has gained huge support while on the PBE, with peons like us, creators, and even pros testing their combat prowess in League of Legends' frenetic new mode. If you plan on stepping into the Arena, you're going to want to know what kind of team composition works best, as choosing ineffectual champions will mean an early exit for you and your partner. Starting today, The Elder Scrolls Online and Murder By Numbers are both free to keep from the digital store. Something for multiplayer dragon slayers and solo picross lovers alike. The Elder Scrolls Online is, well, The Elder Scrolls but online. The long-running MMO has been unlocking doors into every corner of Tamriel, most recently with the Necrom expansion's otherworldly tentacles and massive mushrooms. It's good at accommodating solo players who are looking to scratch a Skyrim-sized itch - since the next Elder Scrolls is at least five years away. That approachability got the game into our list of the ten best MMOs on PC. On the other end of the humanities versus maths spectrum, we have Murder By Numbers, a murder mystery visual novel where you complete picross puzzles to further the investigation. Plus there's a robo-friend who pulls out a monocle every now and then, which is just plain cute. AliceB said the game was "worth a poke around if you're a fan of either genre involved," in our Murder By Numbers review. Even though neither half "are given enough space to breathe," it should be worth a try for the affordable price of zero pence, though. |
