Skyrim, Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate 3 - blasting enemies with fireballs and lighting to solve your problems. But I've always had a penchant for the more nuanced spells, like The Witcher's mind-swaying Axii sign and the DnD Command spell seen in BG3. Square Enix will open up a large pop-up store from May 2 to May 26, 2024. You'll be able to find it in the Daimaru Umeda store in Osaka. [Thanks, PR Times!]
As a pop-up store for Square Enix as a whole, you'll be able to find goods on a variety of series, such as Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts. Merchandise from games like NieR Automata, Live A Live, and Paranormasight will be available as well. If you go to the store and purchase over 5000 JPY ($31.60) worth of products in one transaction, you'll be eligible for a novelty item. So far, the only novelty item we know of is a little plate featuring a Final Fantasy Chocobo and a Dragon Quest Slime.
The full list of items is available on the special website for the store. Aside from games merchandise, the store will also offer goods of comic series like Fullmetal Alchemist and Black Butler. This is because these series are from comic magazines Square Enix publishes. As for the goods, there are the usual suspects of postcards, plushes, keyholders, and shirts. However, you'll also be able to buy items like the Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories playing cards, a Dragon Quest Slime teapot, a Final Fantasy VII Buster Sword alarm clock, and a FFXIV Loporrit loungewear set.
The Square Enix pop-up store will be available in Osaka from May 2 to May 26, 2024. Certain items will appear in the online store at a later date.

The first Hades was an absolute delight. I enjoyed the game so much that it became my very first 10/10 review. While the game was an exhilarating blend of fast-paced action combat and the exciting randomness that roguelikes have to offer, what really pulled me in was the story. Hades was the first roguelike where I was drawn in, ready to throw myself at waves of enemies to learn more about the narrative and engage with the characters. And given my time with the Hades II Technical Test, I can say that the characters in this highly anticipated sequel have already captured my interest.
Hades II is a sequel to the first game, where Melinoe, the sister of Zagreus and daughter of Hades and Persephone, is fighting to liberate her father and mother from the grips of the Titan of Time, Chronos. It's Supergiant Games' spin on Greek mythology, told through interpersonal relationships between Greek and Chthonic Gods. Melinoe herself is already an interesting character; the stakes of the war between the Olympians and the Titans are already high for her. The fate of her mother, father, and brother hangs in the balance. And Hades II drip feeds you her backstory through vignettes or through her interaction with notable mythological figures like Odysseus.
Hecate is also an integral figure, serving as a surrogate mother figure and mentor to the young Melinoe. It is implied that Melinoe was rescued by Hecate, and in a flashback, we learn more about the kindness she showed the young Goddess. There is a particularly touching scene where they are playing tag, which is later followed up by a conversation that adds a layer of depth to their relationship and Hecate's possible reason for rescuing her. Outside of a suggested closeness between Hecate and Persephone, Hecate has raised Melinoe with the intention to wage war against Chronos --- a weapon to use against those who imprisoned her family. Melinoe questions this briefly, but not before I exhausted the Hades II technical test of dialogue.
But it isn't just Melinoe and Hecate I'm interested in; it's Melinoe's relationship and rivalry with Nemesis. While Lord Moro, the manifestation of doom himself, is more up my alley in terms of looks, Nemesis and Hecate have something going on. They're rivals, trained under Hecate with the intention of war. However, Nemesis becomes increasingly hostile to Melinoe as she makes her way to the Underworld. There's a clear hostility there that has a history, further compounded if you give her Nectar. Melinoe asks Nemesis if they can pick up where they left off, to which Nemesis begrudgingly considers.
Hades II is a really excellent game, even in it's early stages. But the characters and story have already gripped me. There's a solid foundation there, which is no surprise. Hades was an excellent game, and I expect Hades II might even surpass that. Regardless, I'm so excited for Early Access and that full release further down the line, just to get to know these characters more.
Hades II will be released in Early Access sometime in the near future. A full release has yet to be announced.

The Exit 8 is one of those games that has you searching for surprises. You know something is coming. Yet even so, it still manages to get you. However, after playing Exit 8 on the Switch, I can't help but find it cozy even though I'm going through a potentially dangerous situation.
For those unfamiliar, The Exit 8 can be a relatively short walking simulator. It all depends on your own reaction times and observational skills. You're essentially walking through an underground subway station, searching for Exit 8. However, this isn't an ordinary space. If you don't follow the four rules, you either end up back at Exit 0 or worse. What are the rules? Look for anomalies, turn back if things don't seem right, keep going forward if things look the same, and finally leave when you reach the eighth exit.
So your first few walks through the passage in The Exit 8 will be relatively basic. There will be six advertisements on the wall. Signs will warn about smoking and alert you to the security camera. There will be three doors on the right, as well as two grates. A man in a white shirt and black pants with a briefcase in his right hand and smartphone in his left will walk toward you. There will be tube lights above you, as well as cameras and a sign pointing you toward Exit 8. All you can do is walk or sprint down the corridor.
The thing is that it all feels normal the first few times. It's well-constructed and looks like a typical path underground from one station or train to another. The Exit 8 looks great on the Switch, with everything being crisp and legible. This also means that if you are following the rules and paying attention, it can make it very easy to see the smaller anomalies and turn around when needed.
I feel like the it means the Switch version of The Exit 8 is allowed to make you feel more secure and immersed, perhaps enhancing the experience. During one run, I got too comfortable walking down the hallway because of the perspective and missed that one camera had a light on it showing it was recording when it shouldn't. Likewise, it makes moments when things are wrong feel extra wrong. When I encountered a situation, I underestimated what was happening because I was comfortable, used to turning around, and didn't take the correct actions to continue that run.
I feel it helps with replayability too. The Exit 8 is an affordable eShop game at only $3.99. It can be a quick one. However, there are a lot of different situations and anomalies that can come up. So even when I did finish it, I felt like I would want to come back and test myself with it again.
However, someone going in should know that this is a short game. Eventually, you will see all the anomalies. It will become easy to tell which one you're dealing with right away. If you're really good at it and luck provides you with the right situations, you'll be done in maybe 15-30 minutes.
I suppose it all comes down to The Exit 8 being a surprisingly comfortable game, especially on the Switch, even though it will get you if you let your guard down. I really like how it works and what it accomplishes with so little. It's an entertaining diversion with great atmosphere that will be fun for a few runs. But I also expect that once you've played it enough times, you'll have done it all and have no reason to return. If you're a weirdo like me though, you might still come back a few times because you find it oddly relaxing to take a walk and pick out the "mistakes."
The Exit 8 is available on the Nintendo Switch and PC.

PC Invasion - FeedDDD Saturday, April 27, 2024 2:02 PM The wasteland of Fallout 76 can be seen as a dangerous place full of things that want to kill you. However, this might be half true. Yes, there are things like the Lesser Devils that deadset on hurting, but on the other hand, the game has creatures who are more docile. This is where the Mega Sloth comes in. These creatures are a little more chill like their real-life counterpart to the point where they can be tamed. So let's find the Mega Sloths in Fallout 76. Fallout 76: Where to find Mega Sloths These creatures seem to not appear in random spots, at least that's what I discovered. To find where Mega Sloths are in Fallout 76, we have to look in certain spots. It's also worth stating that these creatures won't attack unless you provoke them. The good thing is that, much like Pre-War food, you won't need to spend a lot of time searching for the sloths because there are only two.
