Siliconera Thursday, February 13, 2025 10:00 PM Nintendo Super Mario Hanafuda Cards Will Appear at Public Bath       Nintendo announced a Super Mario hanafuda collaboration with the public bath on the B1 floor of Tokyo Plaza Harajuku Harakado. The campaign will run from February 17 to April 1, 2025. [Thanks, Famitsu!] Kosugiya aims to create public baths that honor their hundred-year long history in Japan. Since the Showa era, people often went to these public baths to wash up and relax after an exhausting day. The company believes that natural is best, and hanafuda is a game that many customers can play and enjoy without putting on any airs. This is why it chose to team up with Nintendo for this campaign, as Nintendo originally started as a board and card game company (with hanafuda as one of its original merchandise). Even beginners will be able to enjoy hanafuda, as there will be lessons and practice events on the weekends. Hanafuda fans can also buy goods, and during this time, the tickets for the public bath will resemble hanafuda cards. One of the goods is Mario hanafuda cards. Each card has a familiar mascot or character. We can see characters like Mario, Peach, Luigi, and Boo. These cards bear the same designs that Nintendo previously released in its stores. The movie will appear in theaters in Canada and the United States on April 11, 2025. Since the website for the movie didn't mention if it'll only be in select theaters, it's likely that you'll be able to catch it in most major ones. Regardless, if you're unsure, GKids will probably release more information on it closer to April 11, 2025. You can also watch a trailer for the film on the official webpage for it. Colorful Stage The Movie: A Miku Who Can't Sing first appeared in Japanese theaters in mid-January 2025. Though it stars familiar Vocaloid mascots, as a Colorful Stage movie, it mostly centers on the original characters for that game. Popular Vocaloid producers like Deco*27 ("Vampire") and Jin ("Kagerou Daze") worked on the opening and ending themes for the film, with music videos for them available on YouTube. As for the story, it follows the tale of twenty teenagers who discover Sekai, which is an alternate world made from feelings. Vocaloids occupy these Sekais, and they help these teenagers with their self-discovery journeys. The plot of the movie focuses on Hatsune Miku trying to reach people with her songs, and the teenagers in question help her with this. The developers are hoping to release the game sometime around late April 2025. The reason behind the latest delay of VR-Kanojo lies on the game still being under review on Steam. As per the announcement released by Illumination, the platform still hasn't given the green light for the developers to make the game available to the public, in spite of VR-Kanojo having already received various revisions to its content. To ensure that the game can be sold on Steam and that users can play it, Illumination made the decision to implement significant modifications to VR-Kanojo that will require extra time. However, the developers haven't gone into detail on what these modifications are. The developers also apologized for this delay, which marks the second time the release of the game has been postponed. The game was originally set to release on Winter 2024, which was later changed to February 2025 in October 2024. The team at Illumination is confident that the final version of the game will match players' expectations. Additionally, the release date might be subject to change again depending on the current status of the Steam review process. More information will appear at a later date. Doing so has many benefits, but first, you need to understand how the in-game currency works in Avowed. Avowed in-game currency explained In Avowed, money comes in various forms, and they are different based on their colors and valuation. Best ways to make money in Avowed We are still early on our journeys in Avowed, but Bounty Missions appear to be the way to go. These missions can be found in every region, and you'll usually come across a board with different posters. When you check on them, you'll be tasked with completing certain missions. To complete the mission, just follow a quest marker to reach the required location. After defeating the target, search the body to have proof of your completed task. Go back to the city from where you received the quest and speak with the dedicated NPC to earn your rewards. Destructoid Friday, February 14, 2025 12:46 AM Severance Season 2 Episode 5 Trojan's Horse ending, explained       After a crazy ending to Severance Season 2 Episode 4, Woe's Hollow, Episode 5 titled Trojan's Horse followed up with a not-as-crazy but still pretty wild ending. Let's break down what exactly was going on to Mark at the end of Episode 5. Image via Apple TV+ What is going on with Mark? In the final scene of Severance 2 Season 5, Trojan's Horse, we see Mark really going through it. For starters, he's still got that cough, the one that's seemingly been nagging him the last few episodes. When did we last see that? From Mark's work buddy Petey in Season 1 who had debilitating—and eventually fatal—effects from reintegration. As he goes to leave his reintegration session with Reghabi, a former Lumon surgeon who also assisted Petey, he hears his wife Gemma's voice. As he tries to shake it off, Mark hears it again, before his surroundings change to the long black hallway from the Lumon severed floor that Irving often paints. He walks towards the voice of his wife, who seems to be reciting what Ms. Casey told Mark's innie during his Wellness Session. "Your outie listens to misc while shaving, but not while showering," he hears, trying to navigate what appears to be the halls of the Lumon severed floor searching for her. The voice grows closer, "Your outie once called a butterfly," Mark hears, before turning around to see none other than his wife Gemma, as she appeared at Lumon on the severed floor—AKA like Ms. Casey—looking back at him. Mark freezes instantly with a look of fear, excitement, and sadness all at the same time. Which, by the way, Adam Scott has been absolutely killing it this season. Well, to be fair, the whole cast has. Anyway, "Your outie is going to-," Gemma starts to tell him, before suddenly she disappears and Mark is back standing in his house, no longer in Lumon. Understandably, Mark bursts into tears. So what happened here? It appears reintegration is happening for Mark Early in Season 2 Mark made the choice to commence with reintegration. He held off in Season 1 after what happened to Petey, but learning his wife might actually still be alive, he made the decision to do it anyway. What happened at the end of Season 2 Episode 5 is exactly that: Mark is seeing/remembering the memories from his innie. While it's great for Mark to get confirmation that his wife Gemma is still alive—at least in some way—it's clearly taking a toll on Mark as indicated by his increased coughing. That being said, there's no way Mark puts an end to it after finally making some progress toward finding his wife. What else happened in Season 2 Episode 5? Here's some other thoughts I have after watching the Severance Trojan's Horse episode, though beware some of these might be theories of an obsessed fan! After the goats in Episode 3, followed by the opening of Episode 5 with the dental equipment, and the discussion Helena Eagan had with Ms. Huang and Lumon about continuing the work on "Cold Harbor" and "feeling human", I can't but think back to the early moments of Season 1 Episode 1. After coming to, Helly asks, "Am I livestock?" Mark replies, "You think we grew a full human and gave you consciousness?" This might have been the biggest clue for what's going on in Severance and we got it right from the start. Irving's 8-bit innie funeral with watermelon was pretty cool, that's all I want. It would be awkward to be the ham on the table when Burt is introducing Irving to his husband Fields. Milchick is for sure going to flip and join the innies, and who would blame him?! (Prouncouced Grak-Shoe-Pin) But is the story of Grakappan actually real, or just made up by Milchick? Image via Apple TV+ What is the Story of Grakappan? The story of Grakappan is referenced by Milchick early on in the episode when Helly questions why her outie, Helean Eagan, was on the Severance floor imitating her. After pondering the question, Milchick responds with a question, "Have you ever heard the story of Grakappan?". Understandably, none of them had. "In ancient times the King of Sweden himself was known to go incognito amongst his people in the hopes of learning their true grievances. He would don an old, gray robe, a Grakappan, the name for which he was remembered, to disguise his royal vestments," Milchick would explain. "Kier Eagan himself was known to do so in his ether factories, and Ms. Eagan was carrying on this noble tradition." So, according to Milchick, Helena Eagan was essentially doing her own version of Undercover Boss to try and learn the grievances of the MDR team to make Lumon a better workplace. We, the viewers, know that is not the case, and thankfully Mark, Helly, and Dylan aren't buying it either. The show, and more importantly management in Severance, like Milchick, are no strangers to making up stories, so it would be understandable to wonder if the story of Grakappan is actually true or even a real thing. So is the Story of Grakappan actually real? Yes, the story of Grakappan is actually real. After the end of the Scanian War between Sweden and Denmark in 1679, King Charles XI became known as the Greycoat, or the Grakappan in Swedish. He would intentionally disguise himself and visit villages across Sweden seeking to spot corruption against the populace from higher orders of power, usually the corrupt church. One famous story from King Charles XI actions as Grakappan talks of him visiting a village in disarray while its priest lived lavishly, while another nearby village was in outstanding condition but its priest was in poverty. King Charles XI switched the two priests to solve this issue. So the basis for Milchick's comparison of Helena Eagan's actions is based on real events. However, I wouldn't be surprised if his story about Kier Eagan doing the same as his ether factories is a fabricated part of the story. Primarily, they exponentially increase your damage and survivability. However, that's not all there is to them. Find out how to further buff your best traits with our Verse Piece trait passives guide below. What are Trait Passives in Verse Piece? Trait passive next to the trait in the stats menu Trait passives under traits in trait storage Trait passives in Verse Piece increase the damage multiplier given by your trait. For example, with the Godly passive (50% increased damage) on the Betrayer trait (7.5x damage multiplier), you will deal 11.25x the damage. Damage increase from trait passives isn't shown anywhere. However, it works, and you can test it by hitting the dummy on the Starter Island with a fruit, spec, or sword. Verse Piece Trait Passives List Below is a list of all currently available trait passives in Verse Piece. The progression here is very linear. The rarer the passive, the more it will increase your damage. Keep in mind that the trait passive works only on the trait you rerolled it on. Trait Passive Bonus Chance Weak 8% increased damage 25% Strong 16% increased damage 2.5% Descent 25% increased damage 1.5% Insane 33% increased damage 0.75% Godly 50% increased damage 0.25% Impossible 74% increased damage 0.01% How to Reroll Trait Passives in Verse Piece Passives Traits Reroll NPC in the Karakura Town (Lvl. 7500-10000) Corrupted Tickets in inventory In Verse Piece, you can reroll passives on your trait by interacting with the Passive Traits Reroll NPC found in Karakura Town. Each reroll costs you 2,500 Gems and one Corrupted Ticket. If you have a decent trait passive already, try to save up at least a hundred Corrupted Tickets before rerolling again unless you have a duplicate trait in your storage. How to Get Corrupted Tickets Corrupted Tickets are difficult to come by in Verse Piece as they drop only from Corrupted Bosses, which have 10m HP. Now, there is a relatively easy way to farm Corrupted Tickets if you have a decent build, and that is by doing Corrupted Boss Rush dungeons. Corrupted Boss Rush Dungeon at the Dungeon NPC on Runes Island Rewards from a Corrupted Boss Each run contains five Corrupted Bosses, and you will need 10,000 Gems and 10 Dungeon Tickets to enter one. Corrupted Bosses drop one or two Corrupted Tickets, depending on whether there is an ongoing event that doubles material drops. What Traits Are Worth Spending Corrupted Tickets On In general, you want to spend Corrupted Tickets wisely, as they are relatively hard to come by. So, reroll passives on traits with the highest damage multiplier in Verse Piece. Good examples are Monarch, Betrayer, and Rejected Zenin traits. Verse Piece Fruits Tier List Image via TierMaker S tier: Light (Dark), Light A tier: Flame (Cyan), Flame B tier: Bomb, Dark, Quake C tier: Invisible Full Verse Piece Fruit List Tier Name Description S Light (Dark) Light (Dark) has everything: an enhanced auto attack that deals decent damage, a movement ability that lets you fly between islands, and also gap-close enemies. Its damaging skills, which have a massive AoE, stun enemies, allowing for free DPS. It's just OP. S Light Light shares the same moveset with the Light (Dark) fruit while offering slightly less damage compared to it. It's the go-to mid and late-game damage option because it has a complete package of moves that lets you just spec into Defense and Special while also being very easy to acquire. A Flame (Cyan) Flame (Cyan) is a higher damage (and cooler) version of Flame. It has the highest raw damage of any fruit in Verse Piece and an amazing mobility skill. However, it lacks the CC and the custom M1 that Light and Light (Dark) have, so you'll have to use it with either a combat style or a weapon. A Flame Flame has no built-in auto attack, making it useful only when used with a weapon or a combat style as a backup. It has the same moveset as the Flame (Cyan) fruit, though it offers slightly less damage. Because it's relatively easy to acquire, it's one of the fruits to aim for in the early game. B Bomb The Bomb is easily acquirable, and it's probably your best option for grinding in the beginning. Its two damaging skills and an auto attack have large AoE and solid damage, enabling you to concentrate your stat points on Special and Defence only. Its only drawback is a lack of CC. B Dark Even though its damage is on the lower end, Dark's skills have the overall largest AoE of all the fruit in Verse Piece. It has decent CC in the form of a pull that groups enemies. However, it lacks an auto attack move or a movement skill, which makes it good only for grinding mobs in the mid-game. B Quake Quake is very similar to Dark as it also lacks any movement skills or a custom M1. Its skills have a slightly higher damage output and AoE compared to it, but the only CC option in its kit is a short-duration knock-up with the C skill. C Invisible This fruit, plain and simple, makes you invisible. In PvP, it can give you a slight advantage as your invisibility does not break even when attacking or using skills, but compared to all other fruit, it has no use in PvE. How to Get Fruits in Verse Piece Screenshot by Destructoid Obtaining fruits in Verse Piece is an easy task. All you have to do is go to the Merchant Island, which is directly south-west of the Starter Island. There, you will find the Random Fruit NPC behind a pink stall. Interacting with them will cost you 25 crystals, and in return, you will get a random fruit in your inventory. To learn the fruit's moveset, equip it and then use it by clicking M1. With Betrayer, grinding PvE content will be much easier, and you will certainly have the upper hand in PvP as well. Without further ado, let's find out how to get the Betrayer trait in Verse Piece! Betrayer Trait Quest in Verse Piece Betrayer quest NPC on the Lost Isle To get the Betrayer trait in Verse Piece, you will need to complete a specific quest related to it. You can find the quest NPC on top of a rock surrounding the Lost Isle, the island where bosses automatically spawn. There are two requirements for completing the Betrayer trait quest: You need to be level 5000 or above. You have to kill 50 players after starting the quest. Make sure to swap your trait for one that you won't need because Betrayer will replace your current trait upon quest completion. Also, keep in mind that because the Betrayer trait doesn't have rarity, you won't get prompted to confirm if you want to reroll it. How to Efficiently Complete The Betrayer Quest Getting 50 kills won't be easy, especially if you are not max level and you don't have one of the meta swords, specs, or fruits in Verse Piece. So, to finish the quest quickly, you can make an alt account, join the same server, and farm kills on your main account. When your other character dies, go to the Roblox options menu and click the Respawn button. The S-Tier Abilities, such as Cid's Atomic (All Range), Kurohitsugi (Maximum Output), and TNT, are especially powerful and should be aimed for when rerolling. You can also find them by looking out for Red Skulls that appear above them. Also, some Accessories are only available from various dungeon and event NPCs. How to Upgrade Accessories in Verse Piece Upgrading your Accessories in Verse Piece can be quite RNG-heavy. First, you will need to collect Enhance Stones and then roll to upgrade an Accessory. Each roll has a 90% chance to fail and only a 10% chance to succeed. You can upgrade Accessories up to five times. So, on average, you will need 50 Enhance Stones to max out a single Accessory in Verse Piece. Verse Piece Artifacts Tier List Image by Tiermaker Farming for Artifacts in Verse Piece is hard work, but don't be discouraged if you do not get the best ones, like Ice or Saiya Artifacts, at first. A good starting one is the Intelligent Artifact because it reduces all your cooldowns. Another good pick is the Wind Artifact, which lets you zoom around the map. Use the Turbo and the Recovery artifacts only if you have no other options. Verse Piece Artifact List Artifacts in the materials inventory Attacks with the Ice Artifact equipped freeze enemies temporarily Below is a complete list of all Artifacts in Verse Piece sorted by their position on the tier list. How to Get Artifacts in Verse Piece Artifacts are very important, but getting them is not an easy task. There are two ways to get Artifacts in Verse Piece. Firstly, you can get Artifacts by opening Mythical and Exotic Chests. The other method is to start fishing, which is the best way of farming materials in general. Boss Rush Dungeons are an efficient way to farm Gems and Chests Chests mostly drop from Bosses that spawn around the map. However, these bosses usually have long respawn times. So, we prepared the following guide on how to get Sung Jin Woo Sword in Verse Piece to help you out. What is Sung Jin Woo's Sword in Verse Piece Sung Jin Woo is, without a doubt, the best Sword in Verse Piece. With its versatile moveset and devastating damage, SJW outranks every other Sword by far, with only Cid V2 close behind it. It can also summon a special unit, Igris, to fight for you for a limited time. Below, we will take a closer look at SJW's moveset in Verse Piece. SJW's Z move SJW's X move SJW's C move SJW's V move SJW's F move Button Ability Z The player slashes in front of them 4 times, dealing 40,200 damage. X The player thrusts their blade forward, dealing 36,000 damage in a line. How to Get Sung Jin Woo Sword in Verse Piece Sung Jin Woo Trainer NPC on the Starter Island You can get the Sung Jin Woo Sword in Verse Piece by interacting with the Jin Woo Teacher (NPC) found on the Starter Island. However, you first have to obtain several components needed to purchase the SJW Sword, and those are: 10,000 Gems x1 Basaka Dagger and x1 Knight Dagger Title: 2nd Awakening Trait: Monarch How to Complete the Jin Woo Quest and Get the 2nd Awakening Title Sung Jin Woo 2nd Awakening Quest NPC in the Karakura Town The Sung Jin Woo Quest NPC is located in Karakura Town. You can find him between the two tunnels, behind a line of houses on the left side of the island. To start the Jin Woo quest, you will need to be level 5000+. The 2nd Awakening quest itself is simple, but it can take you a while to complete it, as it requires you to get killed 100 times by a player with the Betrayer trait. To get done with the quest quickly, either find a friend to do it with you or ask someone to help you out on the Verse Piece Discord server. How to Get the Knight Dagger and the Basaka Dagger Shadow Monarch Dungeon where the Basaka and Knight Daggers drop Basaka and Knight daggers in inventory To get the Basaka Dagger and the Knight Dagger in Verse Piece, you need to complete the Shadow Monarch dungeon. Sounds simple, but it's harder than it looks. The rewards are not guaranteed, and to open the dungeon on the Runes Island, you need 5,000 Gems and x3 Dungeon Tickets. The Shadow Monarch dungeon has two Bosses, Igris and Sung Jin Woo. Igris drops some powerful accessories, while Sung Jin Woo drops the Basaka and Knight Daggers. Grinding the Shadow Monarch dungeon is the optimal way to get the SJW daggers, but you can also try to trade for them with other players. How to Farm Gems for Sung Jin Woo Sword Boss Rush Dungeons are an efficient way to farm Gems and Chests The quickest way to farm Gems for the Sung Jin Woo Sword in Verse Piece is to kill Boss enemies. Bosses can spawn around the map at set intervals. However, to make the Gem grind more efficient, do Boss Rush dungeons instead. Also, make sure to equip a title with the biggest Gem multiplier. How to Get the Monarch Trait This can be the easiest or the most challenging step of them all, depending on your luck. To get the Monarch trait, go to the Trait Reroll NPC in Frost Town. From there, you will have to roll traits until you receive the Monarch trait. The tricky part is that there is only a 0.025% chance of rolling any Exotic Trait, so this might take you a long time. Each reroll is 25 Gems, so make sure you bring a lot of gems. Location of the Trait Reroll NPC in Frost Town The Monarch trait itself is very powerful as it increases all your stats by 10,000 and gives you an x7.5 damage multiplier. Keep in mind that you will lose the Monarch trait when you buy the Sung Jin Woo Sword. So, if you have a good trait passive on it, it's better to save it for later and roll for another Monarch trait that you will sacrifice. How to Upgrade Sung Jin Woo Sword in Verse Piece Upgrading the Sung Jin Woo Sword at the Blacksmith NPC on Blacksmith Isle To upgrade the Sung Jin Woo Sword, you will need around 50 Enhance Stones, which you can get by opening Mythical and Exotic Chests. However, there is a huge difference in damage output between certain swords. Some swords have way better M1 damage, CC, and AoE to boot. So, to help you decide which swords to grind for, we prepared the following Verse Piece swords guide and tier list below. What are Swords in Verse Piece? Swords are your primary damage source in Verse Piece, especially in the late game. They grant you enhanced M1 attacks and a variety of other powerful moves. Each sword has up to five moves (Z, X, C, V, F). Lower rarity swords usually only have two or three, while Mythic and Exotic swords usually have at least four moves and very high damage. How to Start Fishing in Verse Piece Fishing requires no input after you've cast your fishhook To start fishing in Verse Piece, go to the edge of the Starter Island closest to the Lost Isle. There, you will first have to buy the Fishook from the Fishhook Seller NPC. Then, you can cast the Fishhook by interacting with one of the three circles on the ground close by. Fishing doesn't require any additional input in Verse Piece, but you can get kicked out of the server after 20 minutes if you don't move at all. However, you will need the following materials to obtain it: Cid V1 sword, 10k Gems, 2 Cid's Eyes, Shadow King trait, and the Shadow Garden title. Gems are most easily farmed by defeating bosses in the Verse Piece Dungeons. For each of the other materials needed for Cid V2, we dedicated a separate section further in the guide. How to Farm Shadow Fragments Shadow Castle Dungeon at the Spawn Dungeon NPC You have 30 seconds to enter the Shadow Castle Dungeon portal before it expires Select the Hard difficulty before the first wave of Shadow Castle Dungeon, as the difficulty can't be changed later Shadow Fragments in Verse Piece drop from enemies inside the Shadow Castle Dungeon. However, you get a lot more Shadow Fragments per run when clearing the Shadow Castle Dungeon on the Hard difficulty. On average, you will get around 300 Shadow Fragments per run, which takes around a minute to complete. At that rate, you can purchase most of the Cid V2 components in around half an hour of grinding the Verse Piece Shadow Castle Dungeon. How to Get the Cid V1 Sword Preview of what the Event Exchange NPC has in stock There are two ways to get the Cid V1 sword in Verse Piece. First is by purchasing Cid V1 from the Event Exchange NPC on Starter Island for 1000 Shadow Fragments. The other way is to hope to get it from the Cid Boss in the Shadow Castle Dungeon. However, the odds of that happening are only 1%. On average, it takes four Shadow Castle Dungeon runs on hard difficulty to get enough Shadow Fragments and buy Cid V1 without having to rely on luck. How to Grind for Cid's Eyes Similar to the Cid V1 sword, Cid's Eyes can drop from the Cid Boss in Shadow Castle Dungeon on Hard difficulty. However, it is better to purchase Cid's Eyes at the same Event Exchange NPC for 2500 Shadow Fragments. Keep in mind that you need two Cid's Eyes for the Cid V2 sword in Verse Piece, and the maximum amount of Shadow Fragments you can have at a time is 2500. So, you will have to leave the dungeon to purchase one Eye and then continue to grind for another. Rerolling the Shadow King Trait Location of the Trait Reroll NPC in Frost Town The Shadow King trait can be obtained by rerolling your traits at the Trait Reroll NPC in Frost Town. However, keep in mind that the Shadow King trait is an Exotic trait in Verse Piece, which means you only have a 0.025% chance to get it. For that, you will need a lot of Gems potentially, so make sure to either sell your excess materials at the Adventure Shop or farm some Boss Rush dungeons. Obtaining the Shadow Garden Title Defeating Cid 10 times on the Hard difficulty of Shadow Castle dungeon nets you the Shadow Garden title To get the Shadow Garden title in Verse Piece, complete the Shadow Castle Dungeon 10 times on the Hard difficulty. You shouldn't try to aim for this title, as you will get it simply by farming for the Cid V1 sword and the Cid's Eyes. Also, you don't need to equip the title before heading to the Cid's NPC and claiming the Cid V2 sword in Verse Piece. How to Upgrade the Cid V2 Sword in Verse Piece Visit the Blacksmith NPC to enhance the Cid V2 sword You can upgrade the Cid V2 sword in Verse Piece by talking to the Blacksmith NPC on Blacksmith Isle. Each upgrade has a 10% chance of success, and it costs you one Enhance Stone to try your luck with it. On average, you need around 50 Enhance Stones to upgrade Cid V2 fully. A testament to that is the fact that Race Rerolls are used as an intermediary currency when trading. Some races in Verse Piece are so powerful that they make you invulnerable in PvP. With all that in mind, we prepared the following Verse Piece race tier list to help you out when rerolling. In general, Exotic races are just way stronger than all others, with very few exceptions. Contractor is the strongest race in Verse Piece overall, with Dragonic being very close behind. Races don't increase your stats, but they can multiply your damage and give you some unique buffs. For example, the Vampire race lets you lifesteal health back when dealing damage. Also, rerolling your race is a lot more difficult because you need Race Rerolls to do that. How to Reroll Races Adventure Shop NPC in the Frost Town (5000-7500) island Adventure Shop NPC stock Race Storage and Race Reroll materials in inventory You can reroll your race by using Race Reroll materials from your inventory. When rerolling, you will have to confirm if you want to reroll a Legendary, Mythical, or Exotic race. You can get Race Rerolls either by opening chests, fishing, trading, buying them from the Adventure Shop NPC, or by redeeming Verse Piece codes. How to Store Races Race storage menu To store your race in Verse Piece, you will first need to expand your race storage. For this, you will need a Race Storage material, which can be obtained in the same way as Race Rerolls. With at least one unlocked slot in your race storage, you can then click on the race in your inventory to switch it out with the race currently on you. Verse Piece Race Progression In the beginning, try to get either Reaper or Arrancar so that you can improve the damage of your Sword and Fruit. Once you get a bit more Race Rerolls, try to get either Demonic, Vessel, or Vampire. If you are lucky early, or if you start obtaining more and more Race Rerolls, try to aim either for Contractor, Shadow, or Dragonic, as they are the best races in Verse Piece. Destructoid Thursday, February 13, 2025 7:15 PM How to survive during Rescue the Dry Devil in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2       After unlocking Kuttenberg for the first time in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll team up with Zizka to track down the Dry Devil. Soon after, you'll be ambushed and forced to fight in an outnumbered battle that can be quite tricky. Here's how to survive that battle and Rescue the Dry Devil in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. How to survive the ambush and Rescue the Dry Devil The final part of the Speak of the Devil main story quest will send you out to Rescue the Dry Devil. On the way, your group is ambushed and you end up having to fight what is essentially a 12v3 battle. If you're not careful, this quickly becomes like a 10v1 and can be near impossible to actually survive. Thankfully, there is a strategy you can employ to turn the tide of battle. To survive the ambush, you really need to make use of the Pistole hand cannon you just looted before the ambush. Even though it's a bit clunky to use, it is a one-shot kill even through the most armored of units. As soon as you gain control of Henry, you want to charge forward a bit and look for the Captain of the group who is clad in full black armor including a helmet. Quickly aim your Pistole at him and fire, and you will take him out in one kill. If you don't take out this Captain quickly, he will go on an absolute rampage, quickly taking down all of your allies which can make the rest of the fight brutal. Once he's out of the way, keep using your Pistole to take out the armored enemies, as well as helping out your allied units so they don't go down. They are invaluable for this fight as they will take the aggro of one or two people themselves. Another cheese strategy for Rescue the Dry Devil Despite the above strategy, it can still be a tricky fight. In fact, I'd argue this is one of the more frustrating parts of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Fortunately, there's a bit of a cheese strat you can execute to make surviving this ambush easier. You'll first want to take out the Captain using your Pistole, but afterward, turn around and look for the far wagon cart full of straw. Not the one immediately close to you, but the one behind that. Hop onto this wagon cart and position yourself firmly in the straw. The remaining enemies will charge the cart, but don't know how to actually get to you, so they just sort of stand around it with their weapons drawn. You can then pick them off easily one-by-one either using your Pistole or even a bow or crossbow. The only caveat to this strategy is that depending on your positioning, the enemy archers can still shoot you which is annoying. I recommend trying to take them out first, but you can also maneuver yourself so that melee-armed enemies are between you and the archer. They will then hold off on firing out of fear of hitting their allies. Regardless of the strategy you use, once you take out all of the enemies that are part of the ambush, you will Rescue the Dry Devil and complete the Speak of the Devil main story quest! Although there isn't necessarily a bad choice with your teammates, some will prove more beneficial than others. We're here to rank them all with this Avowed Companion tier list. Best Avowed Companions, ranked With this tier list, we'll look into each Avowed Companion's Commands and Abilities to determine their advantages for your journey. We'll begin with the best of the best with S Tier, then work our way down to the slightly lower ones with B Tier. S Tier - Yatzli Screenshot by Destructoid Having a formidable mage like Yatzli by your side will undoubtedly turn the tide of battle, making every challenge feel like a breeze. All her Abilities focus on offense, from her bursting Essence Explosion to the deadly Minoletta's Missile Battery. Enemies won't really stand a chance against her, especially when they get caught up in her Arduous Delay of Motion. To top it off, Yatzli clears out a bunch of enemies with her Blast, covering a small area of impact for multiple hits. Like Kai and Giatta, she'll help clear out "Illusionary Objects" blockages using the handy Companion Command. S Tier - Giatta Screenshot by Destructoid Giatta is the best support character in Avowed, providing a vast array of buffs to your entire team. Her Purification skill offers an additional 25 percent of your maximum health, which will pair nicely with her Reconstruction healing ability. Not only does she restore health, but she also coats a shield around you through her Barrier skill and boosts movement/attack speed with Acceleration. It'll be hard to knock you down when Giatta's around, even against Avowed's colossal creatures. Furthermore, she'll help you with puzzles by opening locked doorways with her electrifying Spectral Jolt. A Tier - Kai Screenshot by Destructoid Kai is one of the most balanced Companions, thriving in defensive and offensive strategies. Many of his Abilities will halt enemies through its stunning properties, including Fire and Ice and Leap of Daring. You also don't have to worry too much about Kai while he's on the field since he can revive himself with Second Wind, giving him another chance on the battlefield. In addition to his Second Wind, Kai's Unbending Defense regenerates health and reduces damage by 25 percent to further his survivability. And, as a bonus, he can burn off most debris, so you don't have to waste your Essence with a flame-based spell. It'll assist you with quests like the Totem of Rightful Rulership. B Tier - Marius Screenshot by Destructoid Although Marius is at the bottom of the list, his unique strengths make him a valuable Companion, especially for exploration. I've relied on his Hunter's Sense Command, pinpointing enemies, loot, and plants nearby. His guiding waypoint ensures you don't miss out on any valuables, specifically with hidden chests. As for Marius' Abilities, he's a beast when it comes to combat, inflicting bleeding accumulation through Wounding Shots and firing piercing shots with Heart Seeker.
