Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, April 2, 2025 5:59 PM ![]() I'm not sure I've seen people swing back and forth on a game so rapidly like they have with Helldivers 2. It's had a few hiccoughs here and there, which has made for some tough times for developer Arrowhead, at least in terms of battling the accursed "mixed" rating on Steam (and lower). In a recent interview with The Game Business, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani quite accurately noted that it's been "one heck of a roller coaster year" for Helldivers 2, and also went on to speak about what it was like clawing its way back from low ratings - all the while having to explain to Sony about summer holidays in Sweden. |

While bits and pieces of the game have been shared here and there, some gameplay of Project Rene now appears to have been shared online, which looks like it very much wasn't meant to be seen by many eyes. |

Ever since Toge Production's indie game Coffee Talk became a visual novel and simulation sensation, we've seen a number of developers try to mimic the experience of working as a barista to make drinks while also getting involved in customer's lives. Some of these end up being relatively successful too! Bloom Digital Media and Disney now opened shop with Disney Villains Cursed Cafe for a new take on the concept with a similar sort of game. It's absolutely geared more toward fans of the movies and characters within and a little simple, but will likely spark joy with its charm and silliness.
We don't actually get to know much about "ourselves" during Disney Villains Cursed Cafe. Things begin with us looking for a job and finding a help wanted ad for The Cursed Cafe. It lists things like requirements and duties, which you can react to with dialogue options. When we head to the place to apply with Mr. Magus, we find a dilapidated restaurant with an odd book floating in midair. Reading the spell within "opens" the shop, transforming it into a vibrant place filled with colorful, iconic villains from Disney series.
From there, Ursula from The Little Mermaid walks us through running the place. Because apparently showing up was enough to become the new Potionista, and she doesn't seem to know any Mr. Magus. Throughout your shift, a handful of villains will come to the counter. You choose which ones to serve. They'll talk about what's going on in their daily, sometimes not even malicious, lives and ask for a potion. You then brew something from them, either giving exactly what they ask for or what you think they need. You then see more of their story. Yzma also shows up to sell "Do-Over Doppio" options that let you rewind the day and make other choices. But basically you talk to someone, toss two or three ingredients into the kettle, and brew something up for them. It's very easy and forgiving.
Disney Villains Cursed Cafe for sure follows the Coffee Talk and Tavern Talk game formula. So much so that after you select a customer, they will even banter with whoever else also was waiting for a drink. However, I will say it feels a little less involved than either one. Brewing potions is incredibly simple, as is meeting needs of the folks you're talking to. While everyone does have their own storyline, they also don't feel as intricate. This means going into it, someone should realize this really is a visual novel with occasional drink selections and not a more involved situation.
![]()
![]()
That said, the visual novel elements do work pretty well! While some of your dialogue choices don't really change the story and just alter the character's reaction in the game, I loved the depiction of the baddies in Disney Villains Cursed Cafe. This is a modernized take on them, and we're also seeing them all when they are off the clock. It means they can be quite silly. Some do feel a bit better written than others, as I really loved the responses from people like Maleficent, Ursula, Gaston, Jafar, and Yzma. But there were some times when I didn't find folks like Captain Hook, Cruella de Vil, and the Evil Queen as entertaining. I loved hearing Hook and Maleficent discuss the cursing of children, as well as seeing Gaston distracted by cat videos on his phone!
This also extends to the presentation. I really like the art direction and ambiance Bloom offered in this adventure. The new character designs are fantastic, and I loved all the costume choices for Disney Villains Cursed Cafe. I wish there'd been a bit more voice acting, rather than occasional sound bit effects like a laugh. It all stays very colorful and true to the source materials, which I appreciated.
![]()
![]()
As someone who did grow up with all of these movies and love them, I do wish that a few more classic baddies ended up in the game. The characters we do see in Disney Villains Cursed Cafe are fantastic! But what about Hades? Where's Dr. Facilier, who I feel would really have fit in well here? I bet Shan Yu could really use a drink! (Let's not talk about how I would have loved to see a catboy take on Scar.) I guess I should be pleased that there's some acknowledgement of The Emperor's New Groove, which is an underrated classic.
It won't be the most challenging game you'll play, but Disney Villains Cursed Cafe will delight fans of the stories and baddies starring in it. It's a very relaxed experience. You never need to worry about the consequences. It's about enjoying the moment with over-the-top personalities and potentially affecting the course of their adventures in the process. That said, the ease of it and focus on prior knowledge of the enemies within mean that, unlike similar games Coffee Talk and Tavern Talk, you do need a level of knowledge or investment to get the most enjoyment out of it.
Disney Villains Cursed Cafe is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

The HDR is a returning weapon in Call of Duty Black Ops 6, and the sniper can be a deadly choice in multiplayer in the right hands.
To dominate enemies with it in BO6, though, you must know the best HDR loadout with the ideal attachments.
Table of Contents
The best HDR loadout to use in Black Ops 6
![]()
Here are the best attachments to use in Black Ops 6 for the HDR:
The HDR is an anti-material bolt action sniper rifle that excels in long range combat, thanks to its 12.7x108mm ammo. Combine all the attachments above and it will be a force to be reckoned in multiplayer.
Why you should choose this loadout?
The Gain-Twist Barrel greatly improves the bullet velocity of the sniper, which comes in handy during medium to long-range gunfights.
You can shoot down enemies quicker if you equip the Quickdraw Grip, as this rear grip greatly increases the ADS speed of the sniper and also while jumping. But the Quickdraw Grip increases Flinch Resistance, and this is where the Heavy Stock shines by improving it.
Equip the Strelok Laser to tighten the spread and increase accuracy when the aiming transitions between hipfire and ADS. However, enemies can see a blue beam all the time. Rapid Fire will significantly improve Rechamber speed and slightly improve fire rate. Bullet velocity, horizontal and vertical recoil control take a slight hit in exchange.
Now that you know the best loadout for the sniper, check how you can unlock the HDR in Warzone and BO6.

Dungeons in Arise Crossover are the most challenging and rewarding content in the game, just like in Solo Leveling. However, there are many nuances to them. So, you will want to approach them strategically. With that in mind, we prepared the following Arise Crossover Dungeon guide to help you aura farm just like Sung Jin-Woo.
Table of Contents
Arise Crossover Dungeons Explained
Arise Crossover Dungeons consist of multiple rooms full of mobs, with the last one containing the Dungeon boss. They can spawn at different Ranks (E, D, C, B, A, S, SS). With each Rank, Dungeons become more and more challenging. The SS Rank Dungeons can spawn only naturally, and their gates look different compared to the other ones.
To start a Dungeon in Arise Crossover, wait for it to spawn, find the Dungeon gate on the island it spawned on, and enter it. In the menu that appears, you can either create or join a party and apply Runes to a Dungeon. To learn more about Runes, check out our Arise Crossover Runes guide.
Dungeon Rewards
Mobs and Dungeon Bosses can drop various loot such as Weapons, Runes, Tickets, and Powder Dust. The rarity of the Powder Dust that drops from enemies depends on the Rank of the Dungeon:
How to Repeat a Dungeon
After you complete a Dungeon in Arise Crossover, you can repeat it if its gate is still open. However, you will have to pay an entry fee using Gems or Tickets. In general, you should repeat Dungeons when you can, as you can't know when the same Dungeon will spawn again.
Double Dungeons in Arise Crossover
In rare cases, an Arise Crossover Dungeon can spawn as a double Dungeon. What this means is that when you defeat the final boss, you get to go back and clear more enemies in the same run. Also, you will have the opportunity to fight a unique Dungeon boss, which drops one of the best Shadows in Arise Crossover.
Arise Crossover Dungeon Locations and Spawn Times
![]()
Arise Crossover Dungeon gates spawn every 30 minutes, and they stay open for 15 minutes before disappearing. When a gate appears, a notification will pop up in the chat and at the top of your screen that says on which island it spawned. Each island has numerous gate spawn locations. To find a gate on an island quickly, turn up your graphics settings and use a flying mount to look for a blue or a red gate. Alternatively, look for other players, as they will be searching for the gate as well.
How to Get Notified When Dungeon Gates Spawn
![]()
If you don't want to check the game and look for the gate every 30 minutes on your own, you can let others do the hard work. To do this, go to the official Arise Crossover Discord server and turn on the Dungeon notifications in the "Channels & Roles" section. From then on, you will get pinged in the #game-dungeons channel whenever a new Dungeon gate opens. The moderators of this channel also let you know which rank the Dungeon is, where it spawned, and whether it's a double Dungeon.
If you want to group up with other hunters to make Dungeons way easier, check out the #game-grind channel. Here, people post links to their private servers that get filled very quickly.
With that, you are now ready to tackle any Dungeon in Arise Crossover, no matter how challenging it is. If you want to get yourself some freebies, then make sure to check out our Arise Crossover codes.

The legendary Ray Gun Mark 2 returns in Black Ops 6 Zombies, featuring three unique variants, each designed for a specific playstyle. Whether you prefer high-damaging shotguns, mobile SMGs, or marksman rifles, there's a perfect fit for everyone. Here's how to unlock the Ray Gun Mark 2 in BO6 Zombies.
Table of contents
How to unlock Ray Gun Mark 2 in Black Ops 6 Zombies
You can snag the Ray Gun Mark 2 the old-fashioned way by risking it all with the Mystery Box. However, it can only be done at the Shattered Veil, as Treyarch has confirmed the other maps won't have this Wonder Weapon available until Season 3 Reloaded. You can also unlock it by obtaining the Floppy Disk and Severed Arm, which are a part of the Ray Gun Mark 2 questline.
![]()
I'll go into more detail about the Severed Arm and Floppy Disk below, but for now, let's talk about the Mystery Box method. Although Mystery Boxes issue out guns randomly, you can beat the odds by consuming the Wonderbar GobbleGum. This perk guarantees a Wonder Weapon drop every time, and you could be lucky enough to acquire the Ray Gun Mark 2.
In my previous Zombies adventures, the Wonderbar GobbleGum instantly gave me rare gems like the Beamsmasher and Jet Gun. Typically, these weapons require a lengthy crafting process, but the GobbleGum more or less skips it entirely. Even if you don't have the Wonderbar, you can still experiment with the Mystery Box and hope the Mark 2 appears. You can find the Mystery Box on the map in a few spots. As always, its location will change from time to time. Nevertheless, you may be able to determine its location with its distinct blue beam high in the sky.
![]()
The Ray Gun Mark 2 unleashes three-round bursts of energy, going a step above the classic Ray Gun Wonder Weapon. You can also use it as a melee-based weapon whenever your bullets run out. This maneuver will prove helpful, as Wonder Weapon ammunition can be quite costly, especially during the later rounds.
How to unlock the Ray Gun Mark 2 from Armory in BO6 Zombies
If you're having trouble with the Mystery Box method, you can better your chances by unlocking it from the Armory. Here's a brief overview of what you need to do:
Crafting BO6 Zombies' Ray Gun Mark 2 can take some time, so let's break down each step.
How to get and use the Floppy Disk
![]()
Like the Stamps from Citadelle des Morts, a Floppy Disk will drop from a zombie with a lab coat around Round 11. These enemies seem to spawn underground, so you should make your way to S.A.M. near Pack-a-Punch. Use the Floppy Disk with the fax machine (Stamin-up room), giving you a unique codeword on a piece of paper. Those who don't see this paper should trigger the next round. You must translate each letter from this word into numbers, and unfortunately, the answers change with each playthrough.
![]()
Go to the Nursery near the PhD Flopper machine and translate each letter in your codeword into numbers. Look for your codeword's first letter on the chalkboard and count how many letters are in its sub-group. Complete this step three more times until you get four numbers.
![]()
How to get the Severed Arm
![]()
Travel down to the underground level of the Service Tunnel by opening the locked doors near S.A.M. Approach the Doppelghast behind the glass door and enter the four numbers in the order of your codeword. Defeat the Doppelghast to obtain the Severed Arm for the BO6 Zombies' Ray Gun Mark 2 Easter Egg.
Where to find the Shattered Veil Armory

If you're still at the Service Tunnel, go to the right side to find the Shattered Veil Armory at bottom-level D5 coordinates. Open the door and approach the case with the Ray Gun Mark 2.

Place the arm inside the slot on the right of the case. In return, you'll gain one of the most powerful Wonder Weapons in Black Ops 6 Zombies. You can even increase your strength by adding the Wunderwaffe DG-2 to your arsenal.

All Ray Gun Mark 2 variants in BO6 Zombies
Ray Gun Mark 2 variants are back to diversify this Wonder Weapon's power, a feature you may recognize from Black Ops 4. Here's a breakdown of all Ray Gun Mark 2 variants in Black Ops 6 Zombies:
Unlocking these variants will require some crafting, but I'm still getting through the Shattered Veil Easter Eggs. I'll update this guide once I find out more information.

While exploring the underground level of the Shattered Veil map, you may have encountered a Doppelghast locked behind a glass door. This area correlates to the Ray Gun Mark 2 Easter Egg, a part of the Main Quest. Here's how to solve the Doppelghast code in BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil.
Table of contents
How to open Doppelghast door in BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil
The first thing you need to do is locate the Floppy Disk, which you can obtain from a zombie with a lab coat that typically spawns around Round 11. This enemy also tends to appear in the underground area of the Mainframe Chamber with S.A.M.. Once you find the Floppy Disk, travel to the East Foyer (Stamin-Up room) and locate a fax machine at the F3 coordinates. Interact with the machine, and a piece of paper with the words "Project Janus" should come out.
![]()
You'll likely need to trigger the next round if the paper doesn't appear. This scenario happened to me, and it was only resolved after I killed the last zombie in the round. As long as the item spawns, you can interact with the paper to read it. It will show you one of the three words: Yeti, Moth, or Crab. Remember your distinct word, which you'll need to solve for the BO6 Zombies Doppelghast code. If you need more help finding this crucial item, check out our deep dive into the Floppy Disk.
How to solve the Yeti, Crab, or Moth codename puzzle in BO6 Zombies
After you've noted your word, go to the Nursery at D3 coordinates (near the PhD Flopper perk). Here, you'll find a chalkboard with a bunch of letters. I compared my playthrough with others, and the placement of these letters constantly changes, so my solution won't be the same as yours. You must translate each letter in your codeword into numbers. The only way to solve it is by using the hints from the chalkboard.
![]()
Look at the letters used in your codeword, and you'll see them grouped in different sections on the chalkboard. For example, my code was "Crab," so I needed to find the letters unique to this word.
To determine the number for your distinct letter, you must count how many other letters are in its sub-group. So, for my playthrough, "C" was paired with nine letters, meaning nine is the code's first part.
![]()
Continue with the rest of the codeword and note them down. Mine turned out to be 9729, but of course, your lettering and numbers will be completely different than mine. However, the codenames Moth, Crab, or Yeti will always remain the same.
Where to find the room with the locked Doppelghast in BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil
With the numbers still fresh in your mind, head down to the Service Tunnel at the bottom-level E4 coordinates. This area is locked behind the door where you first met up with S.A.M. for the Pack-a-Punch machine. Open it by exchanging a certain amount of Essence, and you'll immediately encounter the Doppelghast in the locked room.
![]()
Input your code in the keypad on the right to open the door. As you may expect, you'll have to face off against the Doppelghast now, and you may want to leave the Service Tunnel to give you more room.
![]()
Once you've defeated the Doppelghast in the Shattered Veil, go to its downed body to pick up the Shattered Arm. You must use it to progress further in the Ray Gun Mark 2 main questline.

A mainstay of Call of Duty: Warzone loadouts of years past is back as part of Black Ops 6's season three, continuing the theme of awesome features returning to the battle royale mode.
The Monolithic Suppressor was a must-use muzzle attachment on any gun it fit back in Warzone's heyday of 2020 and 2021, as its combination of suppressing sound and buffing damage range was a necessity in Verdansk. It's just another of several returning weapons, features, vehicles, and more to come alongside Verdansk's return in the April 2025 season for CoD's BR.
"Monolithic Core provides superior sound suppression and increased range," Activision said of the attachment. "Moderate weight increase affects agility. The ideal attachment for extending your damage range on big maps like Verdansk while retaining the concealment provided by a suppressor."
This suppressor is also one of the most versatile in the game, as it can be equipped on almost the entirety of the guns available in BO6, including all assault rifles (except for the AS VAL), SMGs, shotguns, LMGs, marksman rifles, sniper rifles, and pistols.
Here's everything you need to know about how to add the Monolithic Suppressor to your collection of Gunsmith attachments in BO6 and Warzone.
How to get the Monolithic Suppressor in Warzone and BO6
![]()
The Monolithic Suppressor is a reward as part of BO6's season three battle pass, and it can be found on page seven. To quickly get to page seven, unlock as many rewards as you can until the page becomes accessible, and then use one of your battle pass tokens to unlock it.
You can also use the BlackCell Battle Pass's instant page unlock to unlock page seven early, but you may want to save that for one of the other new items in season three, like the CR-56 AMAX assault rifle or HDR sniper rifle. But the choice is up to you if you end up purchasing the BlackCell.
In BO6 Warzone, the new Monolithic Suppressor increases Bullet Velocity and Damage Range, but nerfs your Aim Walking Steadiness and Aim Down Sight Speed quite a bit, so it's up to you if you decide if the trade-off is worth it or not.
![]()
If you don't want to grind season three or get the BlackCell pass, there's another option. Once season three of BO6 comes to an end, the Monolithic Suppressor will be moved to the Armory, where it will be listed as an Armory Unlock, along with whatever else you did not grab during past seasons or events, such as other weapons or attachments.
After season three, you can find and unlock the Monolithic Suppressor by doing the following:
After that, all that's left to do is play Warzone or BO6, earn XP, and the attachment will be yours before you know it. Use some double XP tokens if you wish to expedite the process, and then get ready to use the suppressor across all modes for some added range while staying silent.

The Kilo 141 has made a comeback in Call of Duty, but to take advantage of its return, you'll want to pick the most optimal attachments for it. Here's the best loadout for the assault rifle to dominate enemies in Black Ops 6's multiplayer mode.
Table of Contents
The best Kilo 141 loadout to use in BO6
![]()
Here are the best attachments to use for your Kilo 141 loadout in BO6:
The Kilo 141 has been one of the meta ARs since the early Warzone days—and for good reasons. This assault rifle has a low recoil and high fire rate, which makes medium to long-range gunfights easier to handle.
Why should you choose this loadout?
Starting with the Monolithic Suppressor, this muzzle makes a comeback to Call of Duty, along with Verdansk, and it provides superior sound suppression while increasing the weapon range and bullet velocity without pinging you on the mini-map upon firing. Yes, aim walking steadiness and aim down sight speed gets reduced a bit.
To counter that, use the Commando Grip, since it significantly improves the ADS speed, sprint to fire speed, jumping sprint to fire speed, and jumping aim down speed as well.
The Reinforced Barrel will further enhance the damage range and bullet velocity of the Kilo 141, which is much-needed in those sweaty multilayer lobbies. We're using the Ranger Foregrip to improve the horizontal recoil control, sprinting movement speed, and recoil stabilization.
I'm leaving the choice of optic to you, as it's a personal preference. But I like the Kepler Microflex since it provides enough field of view to shoot enemies down without bottlenecking out any info on enemy positions nearby.
Unlocking the Kilo 141 is fairly simple. It's one of the free unlockable weapons in Warzone and BO6 season three. Although an issue prevented equipping the Kilo 141 to custom loadouts, Activision fixed it soon.

The Switch 2 is officially launching on June 5. While new games are fun, older titles are also in the spotlight, getting enhanced editions with improved graphics, smoother gameplay, and special secrets unique to the Switch 2. Let's see if your favorites are among the upcoming enhanced upgrades.
Table of contents
All Switch 2 Enhanced Games
Here's a complete list of every game getting an Enhanced Edition upgrade for the Nintendo Switch 2:
Each game is playable on the original Nintendo Switch console and the Switch 2, with the latter having special perks such as higher resolution, frame rate, and story features, depending on the game. They'll all be available for purchase as full games or through Upgrade Packs if you own their original versions.
Super Mario Party Jamboree
Super Mario Party Jamboree is first up on the list, known as Jamboree TV for its Switch 2 enhanced release. Nintendo is upgrading Super Mario Party Jamboree in every way you can think of, including adding more base game content, implementing audio recognition, supporting mouse controls, and letting you use the both Switch 2 microphone and camera. Your face can even appear in the game if you have CameraPlay set up.
Super Mario Party Jamboree and Jamboree TV will also feature its classic Mario Party mode alongside Bowser Live and Carnival Coaster if you're more interested in a battle royale-like game or a fun little rollercoaster ride that focuses on mouse controls.
BOTW and TOTK
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are also getting enhanced editions for the Switch 2. These versions give both games enhanced resolution and frame rates, HDR support to make everything feel smoother, and overall faster load times so you can move from point A to B quicker.
The Nintendo Switch 2 versions of BOTW and TOTK also introduce Zelda Notes, a built-in app that can provide voice navigation and icons on your map to help you find unfinished shrines or Koroks.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Next on the list is Kirby and the Forgotten Land's Star-Crossed World story addition, which is available exclusively for its Switch 2 enhanced edition. This edition also includes overall improved graphics and frame rate, making Kirby's already crisp and adorable appearance even better.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
![]()
The April 2025 Nintendo Direct officially confirmed that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is launching on both the original Switch and the Switch 2. While Metroid Prime 4 will play about how you'd expect it to on the Switch, the Switch 2's version will fully support mouse controls using its joycons and have enhanced resolution, textures, and load times.
Metroid Prime 4, in particular, also comes with Quality and Performance Mode, letting you choose between slower frames and 4K resolution or higher frames with 1080p resolution. Either way, there'll be HDR support, so the setting you use beyond this is up to personal preference.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A
![]()
Last but certainly not least, Nintendo confirmed that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be available on the Switch and Switch 2 when it launches in late 2025. While not much is known about it yet, the Switch 2 version is revealed to have improved performance, resolution, and frame rates overall.
How to upgrade to Enhanced Edition on Switch 2
Every Switch game that receives an original and enhanced Switch 2 edition will have an Upgrade Pack you can purchase to access their features. Any game available on Switch 2 will have a symbol of the console's joycons with a "2" next to it, differentiating it from the original Switch's design. Alternatively, if you own the game on Switch 1 and don't want to buy a completely separate addition, you can buy its Upgrade Pack for a reduced cost to access all its features on both platforms.
How to buy Upgrade Packs for the Switch 2
There are several ways to get Upgrade Packs for Switch 2 games if you already own their Switch 1 equivalent:

It's an understatement to say that FromSoftware's The Duskbloods stole the show during the April 2nd Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, as many already see the game as a successor to Bloodborne in all but name.
But when is the game set to debut? For all looking to settle their Victorian thirst, here's the latest The Duskbloods trailer, when the game is set to be released, and more.
Table of contents
About The Duskbloods
![]()
As revealed by FromSoftware, The Duskbloods will be "a PvPvEfocused multiplayer action title.'' The game is also directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and seems to feature way more steampunk influences when compared to his other titles.
According to its official site, the game will see groups of up to eight players take the field as they fight using the powers of the "Blood of the Beginning." Whether the title will support character creation is still a mystery, although its reveal trailer's focus on what seems to be at the very least character archetypes —akin to those seen in Elden Ring Nightreign— might shine a light on what to expect. You can check out the reveal trailer for The Duskbloods below:
For all looking for anything related to the game's setting and lore, it was also revealed on the official The Duskbloods site that a Creator's Voice interview featuring Miyazaki and focused on its concept and worldview is scheduled to debut on April 4 at 10 PM (of which I can only assume to be JST). The interview will most likely be released through FromSoftware's official YouTube channel.
The Duskbloods release date and platforms
![]()
Although no specific date has been given at the time of writing, The Duskbloods is expected to be released in 2026, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. If you're hoping for the game to be released on other platforms, however, I would not keep my hopes up, as given the way exclusivity deals are known to work and the title's huge draw toward the Switch 2, it's unlikely that The Duskbloods will debut anywhere else during at least it's first year in the market.
With The Duskbloods taken care of, and so you can get ahead of any kind of possible shortages, make sure to also take a look at where to pre-order your Nintendo Switch 2.

Call of Duty: Warzone players know Verdansk is where heroes were made and stories were forged, but the legends will grow ever-larger now thanks to Ranked Play coming to the OG map.
Ranked Battle Royale did not exist the last time Warzone had Verdansk, so this is the first time that the competitive ladder mode will be available on the classic map that took the world by storm when Warzone launched in 2020.
In Warzone's Battle Royale Ranked Play, certain weapons and equipment are restricted, players gain score by picking up eliminations and placing high along with winning games, and is a different-feeling experience than normal games. CoD players are understandably hyped about Ranked in Verdansk, but it's currently M.I.A.
Here's everything there is to know about Warzone's Ranked Play coming to Verdansk.
Where is Ranked Play in Warzone?
![]()
Ranked Play in Warzone is currently offline at the start of season three in BO6, which added the return of the original map Verdansk, classic weapons like the Kilo 141, CR-56 AMAX and HDR, and more.
Activision, along with Warzone developer Raven Software, has confirmed that Ranked Play will be coming back to Warzone and to Verdansk for the first time at a later date, supporting teams of three in the mode similar to Black Ops 6's Ranked Play featuring skill divisions, skill rating, unlockable rewards, and a lot more.
But first, the mode needs to make its debut on Verdansk so 50 trios can all drop in and try to take the top spot and rank up all along the way.
When is Ranked Play coming back in Warzone?
![]()
Warzone Ranked Play in Verdansk will be coming back some time around mid-season, Activision confirmed. This will likely coincide with the Season Three Reloaded update mid-way through season three, which is likely to begin in the beginning of May, although it currently doesn't have an official release date yet.
"The mode that never quite made it to Verdansk, Battle Royale Ranked Play is back in a big, big way at mid-season!" Activision said. "Squad up in your preferred Trio and ensure your dominance over 49 other teams as 150-player Ranked Play hits Call of Duty: Warzone's first Battle Royale map!"
Our current best guess for when Ranked Play (along with Season Three Reloaded) will arrive in Warzone is on May 7 or 8, but potentially as early as May 1.
This article will be updated with more information when it becomes available.

While doing one of the Arise Crossover Dungeons, you might have gotten one of the special Runes in the process and wondered what they do. These Runes can modify your Dungeons and make them more or less challenging, depending on what you are grinding for at the moment. To learn everything there is to this game mechanic, follow our Arise Crossover Runes guide below.
Table of Contents
What are Runes in Arise Crossover and How to Use Them
Runes in Arise Crossover can alter a Dungeon in various ways before you enter it. Just by completing Dungeons, you will get Runes that let you replace the boss and mobs of a Dungeon with the ones from another one. This can help you target farm certain mobs and bosses so that, eventually, you can upgrade them to the SS rank. You can apply Runes before you start a Dungeon run. However, depending on what tier the Dungeon is, you will be able to apply a different amount of runes.
![]()
When to Use Runes
Ideally, you should save up and use Runes only on the hardest Dungeons in Arise Crossover, like Mori Town, for example. Still, if you are struggling to progress to the next island, it's worth using a few runes to get better Shadows. In the late game, complete the most challenging Dungeon you can. Then, use the Runes you get from it to change the mobs of other Dungeons to the hardest ones.
Arise Crossover Rune List
Below is a list of all Arise Crossover Runes and their effects. We decided to separate Runes into two groups: Mob Runes and Dungeon Runes. You can have up to 10 of each Rune in your inventory. So, make sure to use some before reaching that cap.
Mob Runes
Mob Runes drop from mobs within each Arise Crossover Dungeon. However, keep in mind that they are not a guaranteed drop. When you use a Mob Rune on a Dungeon, the boss within it, along with some mobs, will get replaced with the ones from another Dungeon.
Dungeon Runes
In Arise Crossover, Dungeon Runes alter a Dungeon to make it more challenging and rewarding, or easier to complete. You can buy most of these Runes in exchange for Tickets
How to Get Runes in Arise Crossover
You can get Runes in Arise Crossover by completing Dungeons or by purchasing them at the Rune Shop NPC. To get to the Rune Shop NPC, go to the Leveling City spawn area. Then, follow the street across the Shadow Upgrader NPC until you reach the Guild building nearby. Take the elevator to go to the upper floor, and in the central area, you will find the Rune Shop NPC.
![]()
How to Farm Tickets
There are currently two methods for farming Tickets
That does it for our Arise Crossover Runes guide. If you want to get some Tickets for free, along with some other freebies, then make sure to check out our Arise Crossover codes.

The clock has turned back to 2020 in Black Ops 6, as Call of Duty's season three revolving around Warzone nostalgia has brought back several classic guns from that era, like the CR-56 AMAX.
The CR-56 AMAX's in-game description calls it "compact and powerful," an AR that's "built exclusively for military use" and "deadly at mid-range combat" while also being "easily configured for a variety of assault rifles."
"Combining high-damage hits with a fast fire rate and good handling, the CR-56 AMAX is the perfect mid-range weapon for downing targets fast," Activision said of the classic gun. "Eliminate enemies in three to four shots up to 25 meters out, leaving plenty left over to chew through equipped armor. Quick reloads get you back into the action fast, a helpful trait no matter how you choose to customize the weapon via Gunsmith."
There is some flexibility to be had with this weapon's attachments, but here's what we think is the best loadout build for the CR-56 AMAX in BO6 so far.
Best CR-56 AMAX build in BO6
![]()
The AMAX feels like it needs Gunfighter right now and all eight of its attachments to help it flourish. The gun kicks a bit too much and feels a little weak without buffs to Bullet Velocity, but it's a solid gun and fun addition to BO6 multiplayer.
On its own, the AMAX struggles at range with its recoil which is a problem when so many other assault rifles in BO6 have seemingly no recoil. This will help keep you neck and neck with players who use guns like the Ames 85 or XM4.
If you feel the need to swap out Gunfighter, then the attachments you can drop are the Balanced Stock, Extended Mag, and Commando Grip, but I don't recommend it at this point in time.
The AMAX is best known for its prowess in Warzone, but make no mistake, this gun should be able to hold its own in BO6 multiplayer as well, whether you like to farm noobs with friends in public matches or play solo in Zombies and everything in between.
Best CR-56 AMAX class in BO6
This is the standard setup for BO6 assault rifle classes, especially when it comes to Ranked Play. So if you prefer other items or equipment, feel free to swap them out, but this loadout will not do you wrong when it comes to playing online.
I like Ninja to sneak up on unsuspecting enemies while pushing objectives, Fast Hands is good for swapping to your Stryder .22 quickly, and Double Time keeps you moving and in the race with SMG players.

The Nintendo Direct program on April 4 has finally given us a confirmed release date for the Nintendo Switch 2, and we have more information about how upgrades will work for first-party titles.
Not all first-party releases will be exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, as new games will be released for the older Switch console. Thanks to better hardware, Switch 2 users will be able to enjoy enhanced graphics and better controls with the Joy-Con 2. But to do so, they will have to pay an extra price.
How do Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade Packs work?
Upgrade Packs are an effective way to upgrade your Switch game to the Switch 2 version. When you buy any first-party title's Switch 2 edition, you're essentially getting a combo pack of the Switch 1 version and an upgrade pack.
Let's take the example of the Switch 2 version of Super Mario Party Jamboree. This is what you'll receive.
If you already own the Switch 1 edition for any game, you don't have to pay the entire amount for the Switch 2 version. Instead, all you have to do is buy the Upgrade Pack, and it should allow you to access the enhanced version of the game.
The exact content of Upgrade Packs will vary across different games, so always make sure to check that out before purchasing a copy (either Physical or Digital).
How much will Nintendo Switch 2 Upgrade Packs cost?
The exact price of the Upgrade Packs is not available as of writing. There's an exception for a couple of Zelda titles, but for other games revealed so far, you'll have to purchase the Upgrade Packs separately. If I have to estimate, the Upgrade Packs should cost around $20.
Most of the base versions for first-party Switch titles cost $59.99. The MSRP for Mario Kart World is set at $79.99. Mario Kart World is one of the several launch titles that will be available on the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2. A bundle is also available if you are looking to buy the game and the console at a discounted price.
This is why I estimate that the Upgrade Packs will cost about $20, but it's best to wait for an official report from Nintendo. It's also important to note that the Upgrade Packs are different from in-game updates. A lot of first and third-party titles will get new gameplay features for the Switch 2, which are going to be available for free. The Upgrade Pack has more to do with the additional features that are only available on the Nintendo Switch 2 (like in-console voice chat, new controllers, and more).
All members of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription will get access to the Upgrade Packs for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom at no extra cost. This benefit is only available for these two Zelda titles, and requires an active membership. The only option for the remaining games is to get the Upgrade Packs separately, or just get a Switch 2 version.

Every Zombies map thus far possesses an Easter Egg song, sounding off a new soundtrack during your playthrough. Shattered Veil introduces a new hidden gem with the "Falling to Pieces" song. Find out how to complete the Shattered Veil music Easter Egg in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
Table of contents
How to unlock Shattered Veil Song Easter Egg in Black Ops 6 Zombies
To trigger the secret soundtrack, you must locate three Mister Peeks headphones around the Shattered Veil. Like the other Zombies maps, they'll be locked behind areas that require an Essence exchange. I suggest completing the objectives for the Pack-a-Punch machine first, since this path will lead you toward one of the last areas for this BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil song. Let's break down each of the headphone locations.
Banquet Hall location
![]()
Toward the back of the Shattered Veil map, you'll discover one of Mister Peeks' headphones at the Banquet Hall at E3 coordinates. This is the same room where you'll activate the elevator for the Shattered Veil main quest. Look in the top-right corner of the Banquet Hall to locate the headphones on a shelf. Interact with the headphones; you should hear a classic Mister Peeks sound.
![]()
Conservatory location
![]()
Although you'll mostly spend time in the mansion, you must go outside for this pair of headphones. Go inside the Conservatory building at C4 coordinates. Then, travel down a set of stairs to locate a stack of crates below. You'll find the headphones lying on top of it.
![]()
Service Tunnel location
![]()
Go all the way down to the Pack-a-Punch area (where S.A.M. is) and unlock the doors to the Service Tunnel. It'll be at the bottom-level E4 coordinates. Look for a cone with a zombie in it, and you'll see the headphones on a box. You'll have to be extra careful here since you'll be in a pretty tight place. The Wunderwaffe DG-2 helped me out the most, so you may want to get your hands on it for some crowd control.
![]()
Once you've collected the three headphones, you should hear the Shattered Veil "Falling to Pieces" song. Now, you can jam it out to the soundtrack while taking down groups of zombies. Those who don't hear this song should try interacting with the headphones again. Ensure that Mister Peeks' sound goes off, or else it won't count. Although this Zombies Easter Egg doesn't reward you like the Main Quest, it's still fun to unlock with the rocking soundtrack.
If you ever feel like hearing the song again in another playthrough, use the three headphones to activate it. For more Black Ops 6 Zombies Easter Eggs, check out our music guide for Terminus. You can also try to solve the Shattered Veil Easter Egg with our Floppy Disks explainer.

Schedule 1 allows you a lot of customization options when it comes to mixing base products with extra resources, and some of them sell for a lot of value.
While the number of base drugs is rather limited in early access, you can mix and match with other items and general products. All you need is a Mixing Station, and this guide will detail the best possible combinations to make with all variants of drugs available in Schedule 1.
Best Marijuana mixes in Schedule 1
While you get access to Weed quite early as it's the first type of drug you get to sell, the true mixing potential will require you to level up. There are four variants, and here are the four best mixes to make.
Best Meth mix in Schedule 1
![]()
Meth is the second drug you get access in Schedule 1, and it requires you to mix Pseudo with Acid and Phosphorus. You can further mix the product with more items to add effects and raise the value of the final product.
Best Cocaine mix in Schedule 1
![]()
Cocaine is the final drug to make in the game, and it requires the use of Gasoline with Coca leaves.
The valuation of the products will depend on your negotiating skills. Customers will pay more for items with a higher number of effects. Make sure to counter these combinations and make the highest profit possible.
How to mix recipes in Schedule 1?
To mix different recipes in Schedule 1, you'll need a Mixing Station, and mixers, along with the drug (which serves as the base material). You'll unlock Mixing Station as you level up. After placing it in a room, add the drug you want. Then, add a mixer you want to complete the process. You'll get back a drug of the same type, but the strain will be different.
A strain of any drug will increase its value when you add a mixer to it, as it unlocks additional effects. If you want to raise it's value, use that particular strain in the Mixing Station once again, and add another mixer (with a different effect). If you follow the recipes mentioned in the tables above, you'll unlock advanced strains with higher market price and sale value.

For all its ubiquity, Windows OS is a less-than-perfect choice if you're a gamer. It's bloated, overly contrived, and has nothing in the way of a gaming-oriented UI for use in a living room setting. Valve showed us a potential alternative with SteamOS, but would it work?
SteamOS is not out yet. Further, it looks like Valve isn't interested in pushing it out for this particular use case anytime soon: instead, the focus as of SteamOS 3.7 is to get it to work on non-Deck handhelds specifically, and even that might take a while. As I've been looking for an off-ramp for Windows for some time now, I decided the right time for experimentation was yesterday, and chose Bazzite OS as my primary consideration.
Bazzite OS is, more or less, a third-party attempt at emulating SteamOS, built from the ground up to emulate the experience on a wide array of devices. If you can install Linux on it, you can install Bazzite (which is built on Fedora), and the process is surprisingly foolproof.

In a general sense, Windows is fine, and it's what the vast majority of us have gotten used to over the years. It is the de facto go-to option for any modern PC builder. It's big, however. Big, bloated, and expensive if you're actually buying first-party licensing. Sure, it supports virtually everything under the sun, but this quickly turns into a detriment for specific use cases.
For an office PC and workstation, then, a Windows PC is the obvious option. If you're building a living room PC to use as a console or a media station, though, you will want to drive the thing using a controller or a remote, and that's not good at all on Windows. Enter SteamOS, which has been designed from the ground up as a media-focused OS. Bazzite functions almost exactly the same, being an unofficial take on SteamOS, and it should support virtually every reasonably modern hardware combo under the sun.
My goal for experimentation with Bazzite has been to reduce my reliance on Windows as a whole and turn my old gaming laptop into a Linux-based media powerhouse. For the longest time, the problem was that my laptop used an Nvidia GPU, but modern Bazzite also supports Team Green, which is excellent news across the board.
I'm testing Bazzite on an old-gen Lenovo Legion machine. Equipped with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, a reasonably fast i5-9300H CPU, and the RTX 2060, it serves as a solid baseline for virtually all media reproduction and casual gaming. Most things run fine on this machine, even though the tech running it is getting long in the tooth on top of being laptop hardware to begin with.

Installing Bazzite OS is quick, easy, and painless
I'm happy to report that there's hardly anything to complain about installing Bazzite. All you need is an appropriately tweaked installation file (drivers, etc.), which is available via the official website, and Rufus to prepare bootable media. Using the default settings worked for me, and it took about 20 minutes for Bazzite OS to install on the laptop.
I'm writing this out specifically to assuage any concerns you might have about installing a Linux distro: setting up Bazzite was the first time I've ever installed Linux on my own, and if I didn't mess anything up, I reckon you won't either.
Post-installation, one issue I encountered was that the Steam Game Mode UI was laggy, but this was resolved simply by allowing the GPU to render Web View interfaces in Desktop Mode. Easy-peasy.
The whole thing functions exactly the same as SteamOS does on the Deck if you set it up that way. Bazzite lets you choose whether your PC boots into Game Mode or Desktop Mode during the installation process, and I've set up my laptop to emulate the Deck in this sense.
Crucially, SteamOS's Quick Settings menu also works, allowing you to quickly tune your upscaling options, refresh rate, and a bevy of other things while playing. In my testing (playing Witchfire, 2K Drive, and Sulfur for the most part), there have been no problems, and the performance seems about on-par with what I saw on Windows. I've not conducted truly hardcore benchmarking on this system, however. For that information, I'd recommend checking out Larkin Cunningham's testing from early March 2025, which suggests Nvidia systems may lose some performance on Linux versus Windows 11. In my case, any potential performance dips I might've experienced have been minuscule enough not to notice them, and I do usually notice these things.
The one thing that is missing is the TDP limiter, which could be an issue depending on what you want to do with your device. In my case, the laptop's battery is particularly crummy to begin with, and though Bazzite did help me eke out 20-odd minutes of extra battery life (3:10 at full charge versus 2:50ish on Windows 11 at full charge), it's plugged in when in use, anyway.

What do I get for my troubles, then? A capable semi-mobile media driver with reasonable workstation capabilities. Since Bazzite OS has a full-fledged Desktop Mode, I can do some light work on it. Everything web-based works by default, and for everything else, there's OpenOffice. A particularly handy app I've grown to love on Linux is CoolerControl, which allows me to control all attached LEDs and fans in a single interface. It, too, worked flawlessly out of the box, and I'm frankly astonished with how easy setting it all up has been.
This applies to Bazzite OS in general. I've yet to find something that's outright broken on the OS or doesn't work. Sure, all the usual caveats of SteamOS apply here as well: if a game doesn't support Linux, you won't be able to play it natively on the device you've got Bazzite on.
To be perfectly fair, you could get Bazzite OS's biggest boon by simply setting up your PC to boot directly into Steam Game Mode UI on Windows. That is an option, and it will be the preferred way of doing things for those who wish to stick with Windows no matter what. If you're like me, though, and wish to see if things could be done outside of Microsoft's purview, I can happily recommend Bazzite OS.
I've had Bazzite installed on my laptop, using it as a media PC hooked up to a TV, for about two weeks now. One bug I've had a few times is that the leftmost Game Mode feature menu will glitch out. Thankfully, it's rare enough that I don't feel too pressed about it. Everything else has been trucking along just fine to the point that I have to go out of my way to look for reasons to use Desktop Mode.
In summary, Bazzite OS is, in my experience, good enough for most casual users and those interested in building media PCs. If you'd like to avoid the usual Windows bloat, insistence on constant updates, and the god-awful new AI Copilot feature, this may well be the ticket. You could also dual-boot if you're into that sort of thing!

With the reveal of the Switch 2's release date, we've also learned more about the games exclusive to the platform, and we also have a slight idea about how much they could cost.
If you might have guessed a price rise by the first sentence, you're correct. Nintendo has yet to reveal the official prices of every exclusive, but we can have a relative idea from Mario Kart World's price.
All Nintendo Switch 2 game prices
Here's what we know of Switch 2 exclusives so far:
Many first-party titles will also be on the Switch 2, but their prices are yet to be confirmed as of writing. Once the official prices are available, we will update our guide. If you already own Switch 1 games, they will be supported for the new console with Upgrade Packs, which will let you update them to enhanced versions so that they can utilize the better hardware features of Switch 2.
At the time of writing, the standalone prices of the Upgrade Packs remain unconfirmed. If you purchase the Switch 2 version of a game, it will also include the Switch 1 version (assuming it's not a Switch 2 exclusive) and the relevant Upgrade Pack.
If rumors are to be believed, the Upgrade Packs should cost around $15-$20 on their own. This is based on the price difference between first-party titles for the Switch 1 and the Switch 2. While the standard editions for Switch 1 have been usually priced at $59.99, it has gone up by $20 (as suggested by the official listed price of Mario Kart World).
It's safe to assume that the Switch 2 games will be more expensive, but they will support plenty of advanced features. The Switch 2 will offer the Joy Con 2, which offers much more functionality than the previous generation.
Users will also be able to use in-game voice and video chat, but that will require an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. The new Joy-Cons will also double as mice, helping players manage shooters better.
That said, the price rise still feels steep, and it will be interesting to find the prices of the third-party launches. Plenty of amazing games will have day-one support, like Hades 2, Elden Ring, and more.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's latest Zombies map, Shattered Veil, includes puzzles and a mysterious item called a Floppy Disk.
What is a Floppy Disk? Well, kids, we used to store our data on it back in the day, believe it or not. Considering that BO6 Zombies' story is set in the early 1990s, it makes sense that it's back. But that's neither here nor there.
What do you do with your Floppy Disk on Shattered Veil? We've got all the info you need.
Floppy Disk BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil guide
The Floppy Disk is a crucial part of quest steps related to how to get the Ray Gun Mk. 2 in Shattered Veil in BO6, which is more than just a powerful weapon but a necessary part of the Easter Egg quest.
To get the Floppy Disk, you will have to kill zombies in the underground area once you've unlocked the elevator and can zipline down, usually found around the Pack-a-Punch machine. A zombie in a labcoat will drop the Floppy Disk for you to pick up.
Once you have the Floppy Disk, head to the room that holds Stamin-Up and look for a nearby computer with a fax machine. It's on the eastern side of the mansion, and the room the fax machine is in is called East Foyer.
![]()
The fax will go through, and a piece of paper will come out. Interact with the paper to read the message and see what codeword you receive. For me, it was "YETI," but others include "MOTH" and "CRAB." Remember your codeword.
![]()
Take your codeword to the Nursery room, on the west side of the mansion next to PHD Flopper, and you will find this chalkboard with letters and numbers all over it. The image above shows where the fax machine (yellow circle on the right) and the chalkboard in the Nursery (yellow circle on the left) are located. It's time to decode your codeword.
How to solve the Doppelghast code in BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil
Each letter corresponds to a number. Your letter equates to the number of how many letters it is grouped up with. For example, my code was "YETI."
So this means that my code is 5785.
Each code is different each time, including whatever your chalkboard looks like.
![]()
It's time to take this code back downstairs and into the underground Service Tunnel basement area opposite the elevator where you enter. See that big Doppelghast behind the glass? The code opens the door to it, so get ready to fight. Kill the Doppelghast, and it will drop a severed arm.

What to do with the Severed Arm in BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil
Pick up the Severed Arm and bring it to the Armory in the same underground area, which you can see marked in the screenshot below. Insert the Severed Arm into the slot next to the glass case holding the Ray Gun Mk. 2, and the new Wonder Weapon is yours.

Enjoy your Ray Gun, and get ready to use it as you continue your quest.
