Let me get this out of the way first: I'm not a Nintendo girlie. A couple of decades ago, my parents gave me a choice between N64 or PlayStation for my birthday, and I chose the team with the badass bandicoot and didn't regret it.      Major Marathon news feels imminent as Bungie and Sony post cryptic teasers

It seems as if some major Marathon news is on the horizon. A barrage of cryptic teasers and a community ARG have pushed Bungie's upcoming extraction shooter back into the spotlight once more, suggesting that new announcements, trailers, or maybe even a launch date reveal could be arriving soon. Players taking part in the ARG have also uncovered some small new pieces of information about Marathon, including the potential names of guns in the game, a screenshot of new characters, and more.

Black Ops 6 Shattered Veil main quest

How do you complete the Shattered Veil main quest in BO6? With the Sentinel Artifact securely secured, it's time for the team to head over to an old mansion that sits secluded in the woods beyond Liberty Falls. There, they'll meet up with S.A.M, the synthetic AI system based on Maxis, which could be the key to freeing her.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Black Ops 6 Zombies experience if linking up with S.A.M was a simple job. BO6 Season 3 will have you explore a new Zombies map, Shattered Veil, which leads you deep into Colton Hall. As with previous main quest installments, you can earn some pretty sweet loot for the FPS game if you manage to clear it before Directed Mode comes in.

Warzone's Verdansk update is here, and I've rarely seen COD players this happy

The new Warzone Verdansk map has arrived, and to no one's surprise, the Call of Duty community is going wild for it. However, having been scarred by the state of several major updates in the battle royale game's history, I and many others were bracing for something to go wrong. Broken servers? Well, it seems that I should've had a bit more faith, because aside from a few smaller issues and grumbles, Warzone Season 3's Verdansk update appears to be an all-round triumph.

pokemon cheese triangles

Kraft cheese triangles featuring Pokemon like Eevee and Pikachu on the lids will come out in Japan some time during early April 2025. There will be four flavors to choose from when they debut. It is unknown if we'll also see them in Asian grocery stores outside Japan. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The four flavors you can get are orange, rare cheesecake (with lemon flavor), strawberry, and blueberry. The first to come out will be the orange flavor, which depicts an Eevee on the lid. You'll be able to see these in stores from April 8, 2025. As a note, this flavor is a seasonal one, so you can only get it during the spring and summer months.

The other flavors will appear over the next few weeks in stores that carry cheese triangles. Pikachu garnishes the cheesecake (lemon) flavor, Jigglypuff is on the strawberry, and Snorlax is on the blueberry. The underside of the lid, as well as the aluminum foil wrapping around each cheese triangle, depicts all four Pokemon laying around as well.

These Pokemon cheese triangles are part of the Morinaga promotion that started in late March 2025. It released six-packs of yogurt depicting Pokemon on the containers around then as well. As for why these cheese triangles have the Kraft logo on them, this is due to a licensing deal with KraftFoods.

The Pokemon cheese triangles will appear in Japanese grocery stores from April 8, 2025. The other flavors will appear in stores from early April 2025.

kirby air riders bandai namco

On X (formerly Twitter), Masahiro Sakurai revealed that Bandai Namco worked on Kirby Air Riders. Bandai Namco also previously worked on Super Smash Bros for the Wii U and 3DS, as well as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The post is available in both Japanese and English via Sakurai's account. According to his Tweet, the staff is working very hard on the game, but it can't share any further details. Nintendo only announced the game on April 2, 2025 during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, and so it stands to reason that we don't have any extra information on it just yet.

Kirby Air Riders is the sequel to Kirby Air Ride, which came out in 2003 for the Nintendo GameCube. This was a racing game featuring characters from the Kirby franchise, and was a commercial success despite mixed reviews. Until 2025, this was the final Kirby game that Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of the series, directed.

From the little information that was in the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Kirby Air Riders will come out some time in 2025 for the Switch 2. It's possible that the game will have voice chat functions to take advantage of the GameChat feature, but we will need to wait for more official information. Mario Kart World, another racing game, was announced during the same Direct.

Kirby Air Riders will come out in 2025 for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Reimu Endou Removed From Nijisanji NBA Rakuten Collaboration

Rakuten announced on the official page promoting the Nijisanji NBA promotion and merchandise that English branch Vtuber Reimu Endou is no longer part of it. No explanation appeared for her sudden removal from the collection. However, the company did also promise a general update on the items and art.

Here is the official announcement from Rakuten on the change, taken from the official site. It confirmed that another person will be pulled in to replace her.

"We regret to inform you that Reimu Endou, Nijisanji EN, who was scheduled to be a part of this collaboration, will no longer be participating in it.

We sincerely apologize to all the fans who were looking forward to her participation. Details regarding the replacement streamer will be announced later. As for the second and third phases of this collaboration, detailed information is scheduled to be released in April.

We deeply apologize once again for the change in participating streamers. We kindly ask for your continued support for this collaboration. Thank you very much for your understanding."

Reimu Endou hasn't shared any update regarding the Nijisanji NBA collab since Rakuten's announcement. Her most recent post on social media confirmed that she will be streaming Hades as scheduled at 5pm PT/8pm ET on April 3, 2025. This is a continuing streaming series, as she also played it on March 29, 2025.

As a reminder, the Nijisanji NBA Vtuber project with Japanese and English performers is spread out over three parts, and that's why only now we're hearing about Reimu Endou not being part. She wasn't in the first batch of performers selected to participate in the Rakuten collection. As a refresher, here are the people who were in the first phase.

  • Elira Pendora x Minnesota Timberwolves
  • Fuwa Minato x Cleveland Cavaliers
  • Kanae x Detroit Pistons
  • Kotoka Torahime x Portland Trail Blazers
  • Luca Kaneshiro x Indiana Pacers
  • Sonny Brisko x Utah Jazz
  • Vox Akuma x Chicago Bulls
  • Uki Violeta x Milwaukee Bucks
  • Ver Vermilion x Oklahoma City Thunder
  • Yu Q Wilson x Denver Nuggets

We'll know about the second and third phase Vtubers in April 2025. These announcements mark the first updates in months since the promotion's May 2024 reveal.

The Rakuten Nijisanji NBA Vtuber merchandise event is ongoing, with the second and third phases on the way.

FFXIV Hatching-tide 2025 Includes an Easter Parasol

Square Enix announced the 2025 iteration of the annual Final Fantasy XIV Hatching-tide Easter event, and this year we can earn a new FFXIV parasol accessory in the MMORPG. The event starts on April 9, 2025. We then have a new quest to undertake. Finish it by April 24, 2025, and the new item is ours.

If you want to get started, you need to head to Old Gridania. An NPC named Jihli Aliapoh is waiting there at X:10.2, Y:9.4. Talking to the character will kick off "In Pursuit of Eggcellence," provided you're at level 15 when you do. Completing that nets you the new parasol called the Archon Egg Parasol.

Here's how that FFXIV Archon Egg Parasol looks:

There's a whole new parasol to pick up in Final Fantasy XIV, as one was added for the 2025 FFXIV Hatching-tide Easter event.
Image via Square Enix

As usual, some past items will be available via the Dreamer. In addition, other old Hatching-tide items for FFXIV will be sold in the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store.

Last year, there wasn't a dedicated Hatching-tide. Instead, Square Enix combined it with Little Ladies' Day. The item we could get was the Peatie mount. That mount later appeared in the Online Store for actual money, which allowed people who missed it to still pick one up.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the FFXIV Hatching-tide Easter event will run between April 9-24, 2025.

Preview: Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour Is Underwhelming

Recent console launches tended to include a piece of software that might feel a bit more like a tech demo than a game. With the Nintendo Switch, we got 1-2 Switch. The PS5 came with Astro's Playroom as a free install. Nintendo decided Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour will be a paid app that launches alongside the console on June 5, 2025, and after playing it I really am surprised it will be n additional purchase.

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is structured as something like a museum tour, with players' avatar wandering around the console's parts and learning about it as they do. You can talk with other visitors, with most of them hyping up the system by expressing their excitement or trying to encourage the person playing to take part in the "experiences" within the app. My trial session lasted 15 minutes, but that still meant I got to try some minigames, a tech demo, and a quiz.

The quiz is one of the most basic of experiences, and these can be taken to earn medals. So the one I went through involved the Joy-Con 2, asking things like how many cameras it had, details about buttons, and so on. Basically, you commit to a quiz, read a handful of signboards with insight about them, then go answer. If you miss a question, the signboard with the correct response will be highlighted so you can retake it and get the answer "right."

In the case of the tech demo, I tested out one in the Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour preview. It involved shaking the Joy-Con 2 controllers like maracas. Since this wasn't a traditional game, which would award medals based on performance, it instead listed some testing objectives. One involved rolling the beads in the "instruments." Another involved changing its appearance. Yet another tasked me with switching the insides from "beads" to "balls." It's essentially a means of seeing how the HD rumble and haptic feedback changes and mimics certain sensations. It's fine and all, as well as an easy way to earn a medal, but I wasn't excited to test it out.

As for the minigames, I got to play three. However, one felt like another tech demo disguised as a minigame, while another seemed like a quiz in disguise. One of these involved dodging spiked balls, with medals awarded for surviving 20 and 30 seconds. However, the mouse controls were used to move a UFO out of the way of the hazards. Clearing it unlocked a part two that added stars to collect to the mix, with points awards earning more medals. It was the most game-like of the three and fine? Again, I wasn't excited and after earning medals, I doubt I would return to it.

The quiz-like minigame was an FPS test. Various balls, like ones used for soccer, tennis, and basketball, would go past on the top and bottom of the screen. I had to determine what the framerate was. In the case of tennis, it was much trickier due to the speed. But this wasn't exactly fun. Especially as the medals were only awarded if you got all the answers correct.

Image via Nintendo

As for the other minigame that felt like a tech demo, that was a rumble test that also involved the mouse mode. When it started, I'd need to move the Joy-Con 2 on a surface and feel the rumble. When I found the point where it was strongest, I'd need to press a button. Between one and two medals are awarded based on how "close" your guess was. Well, I got two medals on the first try, so I was done.

So why do you earn medals? Because some of the Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour experiences are locked away behind them.

I'm not impressed with Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour. It isn't captivating in the way that Astro's Playroom on the PS5 was, and that was a free experience. Yes, the Japanese eShop lists it as a 990 yen application at the moment. I just worry there isn't enough there after spending 15 minutes with it and testing out a selection of its activities.

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour will come to the Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.

New Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Release Date Coincides With Switch 2

Marvelous announced that Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is slightly delayed in order to ensure the multiplatform game launches alongside the Switch 2 too, which means a new release date for every platform. It originally was going to appear on May 30, 2025. It now won't show up until June 5, 2025. There will also be an Upgrade Pack, as well as an Earth Dancer Accessory Set limited edition.

Marvelous only revealed prices for certain items tied to the release. For example, we know the standard Switch and PC versions will cost $59.99. (Physical copies are the same price.) If you get the Digital Deluxe with DLC, that brings the price to $69.99. A Super Digital Deluxe with digital artbook and soundtrack in addition to the DLC packs, that's $79.99. The standard Switch Earth Dancer Edition with a soundtrack consisting of 2 CDs, the art book, a fan, a Woolby keychain plush, and the DLC packs is $99.99. The newly revealed Earth Dancer Accessory Set gets you just the two CD soundtrack, art book, fan, and Woolby for $49.99.

Here's how that Earth Dancer Accessory Set looks.

As for the Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma Switch 2 details following the adjusted release date, those are slim. We don't know the price yet, so it is unknown if that version of the game will be more expensive. It is possible it will be, as the upgrade pack will be a paid addition. The price for that upgrade is unknown. However, that will add mouse controls, higher framerates, and higher resolution.

The new Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma release date is June 5, 2025, and it will come to the Switch, Switch 2, and PC.

Ray Gun Mark 2-P variant

The Ray Gun Mark 2-P variant is perfect for close combat, delivering a shotgun-like experience. As with many Zombies weapons, you'll need to find hidden parts and eliminate foes to craft this Wonder Weapon. Learn how to build the Ray Gun Mark 2-P variant in BO6 Zombies.

How to get Ray Gun Mark 2-P upgrade in BO6 Zombies

To start the Ray Gun Mark 2-P upgrade Easter Egg, you must unlock the base version of this build. Get it through the Armory or Mystery Box, and you're well on your way to getting its variant. If you're having trouble with this quest, check out our guide on getting the Ray Gun Mark 2. Now, let's break down all the steps for this Shattered Veil Easter Egg:

  1. Acquire the Ray Gun Mark 2 base build
  2. Obtain one of the Empty Canisters
  3. Find the two Reflectors
  4. Get the Essence Bomb
  5. Place Essence Bomb on top of rubble inside the Service Tunnel
  6. Place the Empty Canister on the device in the Serpent Mound
  7. Solve the Reflector Ray Gun Mark 2-P puzzle
  8. Grab the Light Canister
  9. Take the canister to the Director's Quarters
  10. Craft the Ray Gun Mark 2-P at the workbench

Each Ray Gun Mark 2 upgrade requires an Empty Canister. You can get these items by shooting Blue Rocks, using the LT53 Kazimir Tactical, or by throwing Tomahawks inside the Mainframe Chamber. Once you've obtained the Ray Gun Mark 2 and the Empty Canister, it's time to gather more items for the Reflector puzzle.

All Reflector locations in Ray Gun Mark 2-P Easter Egg

The Ray Gun Mark 2-P's Reflector pieces can be found at fountains. They'll be slightly hard to spot as they will be well hidden inside the two fountains. Even if you can't see the Reflectors, you can approach this structure and hold the Interact button when close by. You should then see the Reflector appear in your inventory.

Head outside of the main mansion and travel to the Conservatory. To the right of Quick Revive, you'll see the fountain, where you can grab your first Reflector.

The second Reflector is at the South West Balcony, near PhD Flopper. Locate the fountain, which is right behind the chalkboard from the Doppelghast code puzzle.

How to get Essence Bomb in Ray Gun Mark 2-P Easter Egg

Essence Bombs spawn inside white crates throughout the Shattered Veil map. These items can be found in every POI, and you must shoot them to uncover what's inside. It can either spawn handy tools, enemies or, if you're lucky, an Essence Bomb.

White crate with the Essence Bomb

To help you narrow down white crate locations, here are a few places where they can appear:

  • At the end of the Service Tunnel
  • Near one of the gray entryways in the Service Tunnel
  • At the front entrance of the mansion
  • In front of the mansion, inside the Motor Court
  • Near one of the stones in Shem's Henge
  • Near the Teleporter at Garden Pond (outer Conservatory area)
  • Inside the Conservatory, near an opening with barbed wire
  • At the Library, near a light
  • At the South West Balcony

Keep in mind that the locations above won't always spawn the white crates; these are just known areas where they can appear (I checked them out myself). It may take a while to find the one with the Essence Bomb. I suggest completing this step toward the end of the round, and then saving a zombie to avoid triggering the next round. It'll give you more time to explore the map for the Essence Bomb.

It's time to finally put the Reflectors, Empty Canister, and Essence Bomb to use by traveling underground. Place down the Essence Bomb near some rubble in the Service Tunnel. The debris will be to the left of the Level 3 Armor Vest.

BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil Reflector puzzle solution

When entering the Serpent Mound, you must place the Empty Canister into a machine.

A beam of light will appear, and you'll have to direct it to a Doppelghast statue. Place the Reflectors on the poles to point the light towards the statue. You can also change the direction of the beam by performing a melee attack on it.

Each time the light touches a statue, a Doppelghast will appear, and you must defeat it. Continue on with the following statues and defeat two more Doppelghasts to complete the challenge. If you need more help with this step, use our Reflector Ray Gun Mark 2-P puzzle piece for more information.

After you've solved the puzzle, take the Light Canister to the Director's Quarters. It will be near the Death Perception machine at D3 coordinates.

Enter the room to uncover the workbench. Use the Light Canister to craft the Ray Gun Mark 2-P in BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil.

Like the 2-W variant, it takes a few seconds to build this Wonder Weapon, so you may need to eliminate some zombies to avoid being downed. Equip your new weapon, which now sprays bullets like a shotgun.

Reflecting the beams of light at the Serpent Mound

If you're a longtime fan of Call of Duty's Zombies mode, you'll likely know all about its puzzle extravaganzas. In the Shattered Veil, you must decipher one of these challenges to acquire a crucial upgrade. Here's how to solve the Reflector Ray Gun Mark 2-P puzzle in BO6 Zombies.

Black Ops 6 Zombies Shattered Veil Reflector puzzle walkthrough

Before you begin the puzzle, you must acquire a few items. This includes the following items:

Locate the Reflectors inside the fountains near Quick Revive and the chalkboard of the Doppelghast puzzle. For the Essence Bomb, shoot any white crates around the map to trigger its appearance. Then, place the bomb on the debris in the Service Tunnel, opening the pathway to the Serpent Mound.

How to start Reflector Ray Gun Mk2 P puzzle

You'll need to place an Empty Canister on a device inside the Serpent Mound to begin the challenge. The easiest way to get one of these canisters is by picking up the LT53 Kazimir Tactical inside the Service Tunnel, where the Der Wunderfuzz machine spawns (rubble area at the center). Alternatively, you can shoot Blue Rocks or throw Tomahawks at some pipes at the Mainframe Chamber.

After you've placed the Empty Canister into the device, a beam of light will appear. Now, you must complete three puzzles, each ending with a Doppelghast fight.

Reflector Doppelghast puzzle solution #1

The first puzzle is the easiest since you can simply follow the light and place one of the Reflectors where the beam is pointing (near one of the Doppelghast statues).

Follow the light again and place the second Reflector on the pole near the device. The light should now point to one of the Doppelghast statues, indicating that you've done it correctly.

Next, perform a melee attack on the crystal, spawning in a Doppelghast. Defeat it to go on to the next BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil Reflector puzzle.

Reflector Doppelghast puzzle solution #2

For the second puzzle, melee the first Reflector you placed down earlier. The beam should be pointing to an opening in a cavern above. Go through the entryway to the second floor, which will be to the left of the beam of light.

Place the Reflector on the second floor, where the beam is pointing. Punch the second Reflector, and it should direct the beam to the other Doppelghast statue. Eliminate this enemy to harvest its soul.

Reflector Doppelghast puzzle solution #3

Return to the second floor and pick up the second Reflector. You don't really need it anymore, so you can just keep it in your inventory. Then, approach the first Reflector and melee attack it. You may have to hit it a few times until the beam points to the last Doppelghast statue. This time, the enemy will be slightly more potent, but you can quickly eliminate it with a Pack-a-Punched Ray Gun Mark 2.

After you've defeated three Doppelghasts, the Empty Canister will change into the Light Canister. Pick it up to build the Ray Gun Mark 2-P upgrade at the Director's Quarters workbench (near Death Perception). You'll have one of the Ray Gun Mark 2 upgrades out of the way, but you'll still need to tackle the 2-W and 2-R for the rest of the Black Ops 6 Zombies Shattered Veil Main Quest. If you still help with this quest, check out our deep dive into the Ray Gun Mark 2-P.

Holding the Ray Gun Mark 2 Wraith Fire

Each of the Ray Gun Mark 2 variants requires some heavy groundwork to get. The submachine-based Mk2 W, in particular, will have you facing a fearsome beast, bringing yet another challenge for this undead mode. Here's how to craft the Ray Gun Mark 2-W variant in BO6 Zombies.

How to craft Ray Gun Mk2 W Fire in Black Ops 6 Zombies

Compared to the other Ray Gun Mk 2 variants, W is, fortunately, the easiest to get, as it doesn't involve as many steps as the others. But it will still present a challenge with a mini-boss and a challenging lockdown showdown. Here's a brief overview of each step you must take for BO6 Zombies' Ray Gun Mark 2-W:

  1. Make the base version of the Ray Gun Mark 2
  2. Acquire an Empty Canister through one of the following ways:

    • Shoot Blue Rocks
    • Throw an LT53 Kazimir Tactical at the zombie barrier near Double Tap to spawn an Empty Canister
    • Throw Tomahawks at pipes in Mainframe Chamber

  3. Place the Canister on a device near Speed Cola
  4. Get the Abomination to cast its beam on three small stones
  5. Make the Abomination charge up near these rocks to get them to float
  6. Protect the energy siphon until it gets to 100 percent
  7. Take the Explosive Canister
  8. Bring the canister to the workbench

Like the Elemental Swords, you must first acquire the Ray Gun Mark 2's base version from the Mystery Box (Wonderbar GobbleGum recommended) or Armory. The Armory provides this Wonder Weapon for free, but there's a catch. You must obtain the Floppy Disk and Severed Arm, which involves a tricky Doppelghast code puzzle. Once you get the Ray Gun Mark 2, acquire any of the Empty Canisters to begin the next step.

How to use the Empty Canister for Ray Gun Mk2 W

Take the Empty Canister to a device at Shem's Henge, right across from Speed Cola (the exterior part of Shattered Veil). Approach the device and press the Interact button to place the item down.

Empty Cannister device in Shattered Veil
Screenshot by Destructoid

Although a new enemy will spawn, it's crucial not to eliminate the Abomination. You must use its beams to target three small stones scattered around the henge. It'll be challenging, especially when you have hordes of zombies gunning for you. On top of that, the Abomination itself will constantly utilize heavy-hitting attacks. I recommend taking out the zombies first and keeping some alive to avoid triggering the next round.

Position yourself slightly away from the Abomination and wait for it to initiate its beam attack. When it does, hide behind one of the small rocks in the area to charge it up. You'll know when you've done it right when the rocks glow blue.

Now, you have to make the Abomination charge up near the rocks to get them to float. This charge-up differs from its beam attack, where it will ready itself and then run straight towards you. Unlike the glowing blue step, it's better to stick close to the Abomination around one of the small rocks. That way, you can force this enemy to charge up near the stones.

Three blue rocks floating
Screenshot by Destructoid

If you ever step out of the henge or kill the Abomination during this step, you can resume your progress by triggering the next round and interacting with the device again. You can also save and quit if you're a solo player and hop back in after. You'll trigger the next phase once all three rocks float and glow blue.

How to get the Explosive Canister in BO6 Zombies

While the Abomination challenge is already tough, it's about to get even more complicated with the following step. You'll trigger a lockdown sequence where you must protect the energy siphon in under two minutes. Vermin will constantly throw themselves into the siphon, inflicting damage to it. I find it best to place yourself directly on top of the energy siphon and shoot the Vermins from there.

Protecting the Energy Siphon
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once the Power Extracted bar reaches 100 percent, return to the device to acquire the Explosive Canister. Those who don't complete the lockdown challenge in time can try again in the next round.

How to craft the Ray Gun Mark 2-W in BO6 Zombies

Go to the underground level and head towards the Armory, where you first picked up the Ray Gun Mk2 base build. Look to the left of the Armory (at the Supply Depot), and you'll see the workbench for the Wonder Weapon.

Workbench to craft the Ray Gun Mark 2 Wraith Fire
Screenshot by Destructoid

Place the Explosive Cannister on it and start crafting the Ray Gun Mark 2-W. It'll take a few seconds to complete (a bar will appear), so make sure there aren't too many zombies around. In return, the Ray Gun Mk2 will feel more like a submachine gun. You must also use it for the BO6 Zombies Shattered Veil Easter Egg, involving a mini-boss in the Main Quest.

S.A.M. in Shattered Veil map

Like all zombie maps on Black Ops 6, Shattered Veil has an Armory, and you'll need a key, as usual, to access all there's to offer.

The latest map is much more challenging to understand, and there are many different areas to explore. The Armory itself is easy to find, but you'll have to explore a fair bit of the map. Then, you'll need the key to access what's inside.

How to get Armory Key in Shattered Veil in Black Ops 6

Opening the Armory in Shattered Veil is no different from other maps: you will need loot keys. To find them, you'll have to defeat elite enemies. If you survive the first 15 rounds and all the horrors, the next step includes taking down the Elder Disciple.

Not only is it a strong adversary on its own, but it can also swamp your squad with minions. At least one of your squad mates should take care of the weaker zombies, while the rest should focus on the Elder Disciple itself.

How to find the Armory on Shattered Veil in Black Ops 6

Finding the key is only one part of the task. You'll also need to reach the Armory to access what's inside.

  • Make your way to the Mansion located in the northeast part of the map.
  • Keep following the main questline, which involves retrieving a Fuse.
  • Once you or any of your teammates have received the Fuse, you'll need to find a Circuit Board.
  • To get the Circuit Board, destroy Richtofen's computer.

Richtofen's computer in Shattered Veil

  • Once you've retrieved the Circuit Board, go back to the elevator in the Mansion. Go to the back of the elevator, and you'll see an option to repair it.
  • You can call the elevator once the repair is complete. Expect to encounter a horde of weaker zombies.
  • Get rid of them and descend using the rope.
  • You'll find an unlockable door. Pay the required Essence, and go inside.

  • Take a right, and you'll have a narrow path past a load of debris.
  • Keep following the track, and you'll come across the Armory. You'll also find the Pack-A-Punch machine at this spot, the Ray Gun Mark 2, and many other valuable resources.

Monopoly

Board games have been enjoying their most successful period in history, but not all board games occupy the same amount of time in the hearts, minds, and on the living room tables of players.

We all know Monopoly is the most popular board game and one of the most historically interesting ones in modernity, but is it really the highest-selling one of all time? Let's find out.

10. The Game of Life

A board of The Game of Life
Image via Hasbro

The Game Of Life is meant to simulate one's adventure in adulthood, which means you might have to study, work, get married, and have kids. It's like a version of The Sims where you get to perform the ultimate flex on your friends, that of being the best at living.

The basis for the current Life is a game called The Checkered Game of Life from 160 years ago, but The Game of Life in its current format has sold over 50 million units ever since it came out in 1960.

9. Candy Land

candy land, the game
Image via Hasbro

Candy Land is a game that's as simple as it is successful. It asks players not to be smart with choices, but to be lucky. It doesn't involve casting dice but rather taking cards out of a stack that'll tell players where to go next. Candy Land was made for children, so it's unlikely to captivate adults due to its simplicity, but it sure has found an audience.

Candy Land has sold over 50 million units since it came out in 1949.

8. Trivial Pursuit

Trivial Pursuit's Box
Image via Hasbro

Trivial Pursuit is to board games what Jeopardy is to TV. A way to test your knowledge, prove it, and also, perhaps, to be very annoying while at it. Unfortunately, the amount of questions inside a box of Trivial Pursuit is limited, and they sometimes don't withstand the test of time, so the experience you get out of Trivial Pursuit isn't exactly what your parents did back in the day, but the amount of fun is likely the same.

Trivial Pursuit has sold over 100 million units since it first came out in 1981.

7. Battleship

Battleship, the board game
Image via Hasbro

Tactics and classic RPG lovers, this one is for you. Ever wanted to beat your friend in a way that also made you feel like an accomplished navy strategist? Look no further than Battleship, a classy two-player adventure where you try to blow up your friend's fleet by guessing the position of their ships. It's as simple as it is fun and will likely never lose its appeal as its random nature gives everyone of all ages more or less the same chance to win.

Battleship has sold over 100 million units since it was first released in its famous plastic shape in 1967.

6. Clue

clue

Everyone wants to be a detective, and everyone wants to be the best detective in a world where everyone—apart from the dead guy—is also a detective. Clue, or Cluedo outside of the US, allows players to sound like the smartest person in the room, should they actually be the smartest person—or simply the luckiest—and everyone loves that.

Clue is the game on this list that'll likely wear out its welcome the fastest, but it's one hell of a lot of fun until it does. Clue has sold over 150 million units since it first came out in 1949.

5. Scrabble

scrabble board game
Image via Hasbro

If you're one of the rare few who've never played Scrabble, this might be one of the hardest games on this list to convince you to play. "Words? I don't want to be at school or at a job where you have to write them—who would want that?" But, truth is, Scrabble's random nature ensures that this game where we put letters together to come up with words for points will always remain equally fun.

Scrabble has sold over 150 million units since its release in 1948, and its perfect formula will likely keep it from ever slowing down.

4. Monopoly

A Monopoly Board
Image via Hasbro

Monopoly, the simple capitalism simulator that shows how capitalism ultimately doesn't work with surprising accuracy, has been providing immense fun and sneaky lessons for hundreds of millions of people.

Monopoly has sold over 250 million units since its creation in 1933. Its makers "took a lot of inspiration" from The Landlord's Game, which was pretty much the same game but with the equally awesome theme of "landlords are evil."

But, even though Monopoly is the highest-selling board game of modern times, it doesn't have the dominance over sales numbers across all of human history.

3. Backgammon

A case of Backgammon
Image via FSWWSF

Backgammon is one of the most mysterious and seemingly least-inviting board games ever made. This is because it was made long before games were made to be sold in neat packages to huge audiences—though it still managed to find an immense player base.

When only the modern age is concerned, backgammon is known to have sold over 80 million units. Still, we're talking about a game that could be over five thousand years old, so there's no telling how many people have paid for a board—because backgammon long predates even the concept of currency itself.

2. Checkers

checkers best board games for 7 year olds
Image via Vamslove

Checkers (or draughts, if you're an old-timey Brit) is one of the oldest, most consistently popular, and best-selling games in history. The legendary one-versus-one board game where you win either by devouring your opponent's pieces or by forcing them to eat your pieces in a way that puts them at a disadvantage has been either solidifying or destroying friendships for up to five thousand years.

Over that time, checkers is estimated to have sold over fifty billion, yes, with a b, units.

1. Chess

A table of Chess
Image via Destructoid

Chess as the #1 best-selling board game of all time is either very obvious or something that completely flies under your radar. Due to it not being copyright protected and thus not advertised by any major brand — because it predates brands and copyright itself — some might not put it in the same category as Monopoly, but it totally is.

Chess is so old that no one can even come up with an approximation of how many copies it has sold since its inception in Ancient Indian times back when people knew it as Chaturanga. Still, it sells over three million units annually and is played by so many online that it easily gets the distinction of being the best-selling board game of all time.

A warrior in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion

While The Elder Scrolls 6 is officially in development, a recent social media post has claimed that we could be getting the long-rumored Oblivion remake during the first week of April this year.

Is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake real?

The recent rumor came from X user @DetectiveSeeds, who claimed that the Oblivion remake is likely going live on Thursday, April 3. No official statement has arrived from Bethesda as of writing this piece.

The tweet, originally posted on March 30, is still up (if reliability is concerned). However, the author claimed in a follow-up tweet that the source is a bit iffy and that it's unclear whether the game will be live "this week or the next" (referring to the second week of April).

https://twitter.com/DetectiveSeeds/status/1906165593016799478

The tweet also claims that Indiana Jones will be released on April 16 for the PS5, followed by Forza Horizon 5 after 13 more days. As I write this article, some parts of the world are already in the early hours of April 4, so the date of April 3 certainly appears to be a wrong one.

It also feels a tad fishy that Bethesda would release such an exciting remake without any form of PR. One can cite the example of Hi-Fi Rush, which came out of nowhere and became an instant hit with the community. Then again, that was a brand new adventure and a fresh launch, while Oblivion would be a remake of an older game, and a popular one at that.

We haven't seen any fresh evidence since the tweet that would suggest the Oblivion remake is real. The latest concrete news came from leaked FTC documents during the Activision-Blizzard acquisition by Microsoft. Then again, in the world of shadow drops, anything is possible.

Mixed Strain in Schedule 1

The Mixing Mania quest is one of the most crucial ones in Schedule 1, as it teaches you the basics about mixing different ingredients and developing various strains.

While it's not necessary to create mixes in the game, doing so raises the value of the items that you produce. By combining base drugs with mixers, you can create valuable strains that sell for high prices on the market. This guide will highlight all the steps required to make you a mixing master in Schedule 1.

Schedule 1 Mixing Mania quest guide

Speak with Uncle Nelson

Payphone in Schedule 1
Screenshot by Destructoid

The task begins by speaking with your beloved Uncle Nelson. Go to the closest payphone and pick up the call. He will tell you about how mixing works, why it's important, and its requirements. His first advice will be to purchase a Mixing Station.

Purchase the Mixing Station

Dan's Hardware in Schedule 1
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Mixing Station can be purchased from Dan's Hardware, which is located by the Sweatshop (on top of the Fat Dragon restaurant). You'll have to reach Hoodlum V to unlock the Mixing Station and then purchase it for $500. You can purchase as many Mixing Stations as you want, but just go with one for this quest.

Once you have purchased the station, return to your room and place it at a suitable location.

Get the Mixers

Gas-Mart location in Schedule 1
Screenshot by Destructoid

The next step is to get the Mixers to make your mix. You can purchase them from Gas Mart, and there are two of them on the map. Go to the one on the western part of the map since it's accessible to lower-level players. There's a host of different Mixers to choose from.

Many ingredients will be locked while your player level is low. The ones available from the start are Cuke, Banana, Paracetamol, and Donut. All four items are cheap, but just pick one if you're short on cash. The objective of this quest is to help you prepare your first mix, and the strain doesn't matter.

Start the mix at the Mixing Station

Mixing Station in Schedule 1
Screenshot by Destructoid

With all the required ingredients in your inventory, go back to your base of operations. First, select the drug variant to use and add it in the Product section. Next, select the additional ingredient and add it to the Mixer section. Click on Begin to start the process and wait for a couple of seconds for it to complete.

The two items will combine and become an advanced strain of the base variant that you just used. Open your phone and then go to Products. You can list the strain you just created, and your customers will contact you for the item.

An advanced strain of any drug will always fetch more, and the final price often depends on how much you can negotiate. To learn more, check out our detailed guide on the best mixes for all the drugs in Schedule 1.

Schedule 1 central canal

After completing Schedule 1's prologue and arriving in Hyland Point, you'll quickly realize you have nothing to your name. To solve this, Uncle Nelson tells you about his stashes around the fountain, canal, and supermarket. While the supermarket and fountain are relatively simple, the canal's stash is trickier to spot.

Schedule 1 Canal Stash map location

The Canal stash is directly southwest of the fountain one. If you're at the Town Hall fountain, you can quickly find the canal stash by turning toward the Gas Mart sign, running across the street, and jumping into the water. Here, you can turn around to find a sewer drain and a stash with a white "X" above it.

Schedule 1 central canal stash

This central canal dead drop contains $80 to add to your pockets. Combining the three will give you $375 to spend on your first business venture, weed growing and distribution. You'll also return to this dead drop, among others, later in your playthrough, so keep it in mind for the future.

All Uncle Nelson stash locations in Schedule 1

Alongside the canal's stash in the town center, you'll also have to locate cash near the Town Hall fountain and supermarket to advance through Schedule 1's main story. If you're unsure where the remaining ones are, here's a complete route, starting from the quest's beginning:

  1. If you're at the RV, head out the door and run straight through the forest until you hit a wall.
  2. Follow the wall left until you see a Gas Mart sign and a car dealership. Run past both, veering left until you reach the canal.
  3. Jump into the canal and run along it until you see its stash.
  4. Still facing the stash, climb out of the canal and run toward the orange building with the fountain in front. The fountain's stash is facing the building's doors.
  5. Turn around from the fountain's stash until you see the police station and a green building. Run toward the green building.
  6. As you approach the supermarket, turn toward the blue ATM and green Cash for Trash machines. Turn left as you reach Cash for Trash.
  7. Turn left once more to find the Supermarket stash.

After taking the money out of all three stashes, you'll reach your next quest objective, allowing you to advance through Schedule 1's quest line. If you need help finding other locations, be sure to check out our complete Schedule 1 map guide.

BO6 CR-56 AMAX Warzone

The CR-56 AMAX is about to be in your hands in Call of Duty. You either stepped into a time machine, or you're playing season three of Black Ops 6.

One of Warzone's most legendary weapons, the CR-56 AMAX is a part of season three, which is all about throwing back to Verdansk as the classic BR map returns along with several quality of life updates to celebrate the free-to-play mode's fifth birthday.

The CR-56 AMAX was a dominant meta weapon for several seasons back in the day. This time, Activision describes it as a "lightweight 7.62 x 39mm full-auto assault rifle" that is "compact and powerful." The newest AR in BO6 and Warzone is "exclusively for military use" and "deadly at mid-range combat and easily configured for a variety of assault tactics."

"Combining high-damage hits with a fast fire rate and good handling, the CR-56 AMAX is the perfect mid-range weapon for downing targets fast," Activision said. "Eliminate enemies in three to four shots up to 25 meters out, leaving plenty left over to chew through equipped armor. Quick reloads get you back into the action fast, a helpful trait no matter how you choose to customize the weapon via Gunsmith."

If this gun is anything like its original counterpart, we may have an all-new meta in BO6 and Warzone. Here's how to get it in your own loadout.

How to get the AMAX in BO6 and Warzone

Season three BO6 battle pass screen
Screenshot by Destructoid

The CR-56 AMAX is available in the season three battle pass as the high value target (HVT) on page six, but it will also inevitably be included in a store bundle surrounding season three's launch.

In BO6 battle passes, the HVT is the final reward you can unlock once you have everything else on that page. Work through the pages by gaining battle pass XP by playing the game (and using double battle pass XP tokens if you have them) to earn tokens to unlock rewards.

Once you unlock all of the rewards on page six, you can use another token to unlock the CR-56 AMAX, and it will then become available in your weapons menu under assault rifles. Now it's time to use those double weapon XP tokens to level it up.

As you level up and work through the battle pass by unlocking individual rewards, you can skip pages once you reach a certain number of items unlocked. Once you can access page six, jump to it immediately and begin unlocking its items so that you can get the CR-56 AMAX as soon as possible because it will be strong.

If you feel like spending some dough, you can also pick up the 3,000 CoD Point Tracer Pack: Digital Dreamin' Mastercraft Bundle for the Game Over blueprint for the AMAX. Alternatively, you can also get the season three BlackCell battle pass and use your Instant Page Unlock on page six to get the AMAX sooner than normal.

Game Over blueprint for the AMAX in BO6 and Warzone
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once season three comes to an end, the AMAX will become available to obtain as an Armory Unlock in BO6. To access Armory Unlocks in BO6, navigate to Barracks, select Challenges, and then select Armory. Here, you will find any unlocks from past seasons or events that you haven't obtained yet. Select the CR-56 AMAX (or whichever item you wish to unlock) as your active Armory Challenge and then a set amount of XP to unlock it to add to your collection.

Every way to unlock the AMAX in Warzone and BO6

To summarize, here are all the different ways you can get the CR-56 AMAX:

  • Season three battle pass page six HVT
  • CoD Point Tracer Pack: Digital Dreamin' Mastercraft Bundle
  • Season three BlackCell instant page unlock

Schedule 1 Top Tattoo map location

There are many ways to play Schedule 1. If you want to make as much money as possible, you can skip character customization and jump right in. If you prefer developing a story behind your adventure, you'll need to look the part.

And by that, I mean looking however you wish. You can make yourself inconspicuous or go all-out with colorful hairstyles and tattoos. Tattoos aren't available in Schedule 1's initial character customization menu, but there is a way to get them later.

Where to get a tattoo in Schedule 1

You can get a tattoo by visiting Top Tattoo in Westville. Starting from the motel, you can access this shop by heading west past the canal, Gas-Mart, and the construction site until you spot Top Tattoo's bright red sign. It's open from 6 am to 6 pm daily, so be sure to visit early.

Inside Top Tattoo is Dean Webster, an NPC you can talk to to get a tattoo or offer deals if you have Westville unlocked and have advanced down the contact tree enough to unlock him. His favorite effects are Glowing, Laxative, and Spicy, so feel free to mix up a few substances beforehand if you want to make some extra money during your tattoo session.

All tattoo options and prices in Schedule 1

Once you ask Dean for a tattoo, you'll find a series of menus for choosing the tattoo design and its location on your body. You can choose between your face, chest, left arm, and right arm, each category having four to five options. Below are all of Schedule 1's tattoo options, including their location on your character's body and prices:

Tattoo Body Part Price
Teardrop Face $50
Forehead Cross Face $100
Sword Face $120
Tribal Face $250
Dead Face Chest $100
Sword Chest $150
Egg Chest $300
Bird Chest $300
Heart Arms $40
Peace Arms $40
Weed Arms $50
Alien Arms $70
Web Arms $70

Any tattoo purchases you make will come off your debit card, so ensure you have some spare money in your account. If you're past your weekly ATM deposit limit, you may have to visit a Laundromat or other businesses to increase it.

Can you remove tattoos in Schedule 1?

Yes, you can remove any tattoos you've added to your character. In the tattooing menu, you'll find "none" at the top of each category, letting you remove any on your chosen body part. However, you won't get a refund for it, so make sure you're certain of your decision before going through with it.

an image of Kilo 141 assault rifle with the Warzone logo on top right

The Kilo 141 assault rifle has also made a comeback alongside Verdansk in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3, and to use it to the best potential, you must use the right loadout to shred enemies even from a distance.

In battle royale, you have to keep several factors in mind, such as the right optic as most of the gunfights are ranged, the right underbarrel so that you can control the weapon's recoil, and a whole lot more.

Here is our list of attachments and class loadout equipment for the best Kilo 141 loadout in Warzone for Black Ops 6's season three in Verdansk.

Best Kilo 141 build in Warzone Season 3

Screenshot by Destructoid

  • Optic: Willis 3x
  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag II
  • Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
  • Stock: Infiltrator Stock
  • Fire Mods: 5.56 NATO Overpressured

I am using an 8-attachment loadout for the Kilo 141, which means equipping the Gunfighter Wildcard is a must. This build offers ample buffs to firepower, while also helping the gun maintain its mobility and accuracy with some nice additions thanks to several of the aforementioned attachments.

Best Kilo 141 loadout in Warzone

  • Special: Sirin 9mm

    • Optic: Iron Sight
    • Muzzle: Suppressor
    • Barrel: Long Barrel
    • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
    • Magazine: Extended Mag I

  • Tactical: Smoke Grenade
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Perk 1: Survivor
  • Perk 2: Sprinter
  • Perk 3: Tempered
  • Wildcard: Gunfighter

Since Gunfighter prevents us from using a second primary, the Sirin 9mm is the best bet to go with. But if you want to run Overkill as your Wildcard, consider swapping out the Rear Grip, Stock, and Fire Mods attachments and adding a top SMG like the C9 or PPSh-41 to your loadout instead for when you need to bring the fight up close and personal.

Why should you choose this loadout?

For the optic, I've chosen the Willis 3x as it provides a clear sight without bottlenecking field of view and providing enough zoom to engage in long-range gunfights. As the name suggests, it provides a 3x magnification and improves the recoil gun kick but the aim down sight speed takes a slight hit.

Warzone and Black Ops 6 season three also brought the Monolithic Suppressor back, and I've equipped it as the muzzle. It will not ping you on enemies' mini-map during firing while significantly increasing the Kilo 141's bullet velocity and damage range, which is very crucial for Battle Royale. Go with the Reinforced Barrel, as it acts as a catalyst to the Monolithic Suppressor by further improving the bullet velocity and damage range.

The magazine size plays a big role in this game mode, so go with the Extended Mag II as it will hold a total of 60 bullets in one. The downside of this attachment is it increases the ADS speed and Sprint to Fire speed. The Quickdraw Grip is necessary to counter that issue as it significantly increases the ADS speed while aiming both normally and jumping. The Infiltrator Stock will improve the aim walking movement speed, which is a nice enhancement for BR. Lastly, the 5.56 Nato Overpressured fire mod acts as the cherry on top as it further increases the bullet velocity of the gun.

an image of HDR sniper with the Warzone logo on top right

Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 is finally out, bringing several weapons back to the roster, like the HDR.

To use the sniper at its highest potential, here's one of the best loadouts you can use to dominate enemies in Warzone.

Table of Contents

The best HDR loadout to use in Warzone Season 3

best hdr loadout in warzone season 3
Screenshot by Destructoid

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Gain-Twist Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Lightweight Bipod
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I
  • Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
  • Stock: Heavy Stock
  • Laser: Target Laser
  • Fire Mods: 108mm FMJ

Since this loadout is for Warzone, I went with eight attachments, and for that, simply equip the Gunfighter Wildcard.

Why should you choose this loadout?

Here's a detailed breakdown of why you should be using this loadout:

Attachment Benefits
Monolithic Suppressor In addition to providing superior sound suppression, the Monolithic Suppressor will increase the HDR's bullet velocity and damage range.
Gain-Twist Barrel The Gain-Twist Barrel will further improve the bullet velocity of the sniper, which is very important especially in Warzone where long-range sniping is norm.
Lightweight Bipod Equipping the Lightweight Bipod will significantly improve the aiming idle sway, which aids the stability of the HDR.
Extended Mag I The Extended Mag I slightly increases the ammo capacity and keeps two more bullets in a single mag.
Quickdraw Grip The Quickdraw Grip drastically improves the aim down sight speed, which is crucial in Warzone, but degrades the flinch resistance of the weapon.
Heavy Stock The Heavy Stock counters that by improving the resistance to flinch.
Target Laser The Target Laser will improve the HDR's accuracy and steadiness by increasing the time before idle sway while aiming comes into effect, but the laser can be visible while ADS.
108mm FMJ The 108mm FMJ fire mod increases the penetration power of the bullets due to its hard metal outer shell and also increases damage to vehicles and scorestreaks.

Now that you know the best Warzone loadout for the sniper, check out the best HDR loadout for Black Ops 6 multiplayer.
