Cyberpunk 2077 PC Requirements Revealed, Requires 70 GB Space

Cyberpunk 2077_V

As promised, CD Projekt RED reveals the minimum and recommended PC requirements for Cyberpunk 2077. Both configurations require 70 GB of install space. Otherwise, the overall requirements are very reasonable in both cases.

Minimum requirements include an Intel Core i5-3570K or AMD FX-8310 with 8 GB of RAM and either a GeForce GTX 780 with 3 GB VRAM or an AMD Radeon RX 470. Windows 7 or Windows 10 64-bit is also needed. And while an SSD isn't a requirement, it is "recommended."

Speaking of recommended specifications, Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G, 12 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB VRAM or an AMD Radeon R9 Fury are needed. A solid state drive seems a given in this kind of set-up for the best possible performance. Still compared to even some of the more demanding games today, these specs aren't too bad.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out on November 19th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Check out the various sights and sounds of Night City here or view more about its gangs here. Another episode of Night City Wire will be coming up, most likely before launch, so stay tuned for more details.

Cyberpunk 2077 Trailer Outlines the Gangs of Night City

Cyberpunk 2077_01

For all the sight, sounds and crimes that Night City has to offer, Cyberpunk 2077 is dictated by its gangs. There are multiple gangs that the player will encounter, and will even take on different jobs for them. Check out all the gangs below and what makes each of them so intriguing.

From the Animals and Maelstrom to the Moxes and Valentinos, there are all kinds of gangs to deal with, each with their own weapons, items, clothing and much more. The Badlands also have their share of gangs, though they're more community-driven. You can even join an elite club of mercs called Afterlife which takes on all the best jobs (though it's implied that you'll need to work for it).

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently slated to release on November 19th. It will be available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, though it will also be compatible with Xbox Series X and PS5 out of the box. Full-fledged next-gen versions will be available in 2021 though so stay tuned for more details.

Cyberpunk 2077 Trailer Showcases Night City Sights and Sounds

cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt RED kicked off its latest Night City Wire for Cyberpunk 2077 by highlighting Night City. A city full of crime, homeless and escalating body counts, Night City is brimming with things to see. It features six districts, each with their own unique architecture and functions. Check it out below.

As the developer explains it, despite the sheer size and scale of Night City, it's working to ensure that the player as a "sense of place" with each district. You'll know where you are, essentially. It's described as "organic" – to the extent that even rubbish has been placed by hand – with numerous layers built one on top of the other, emphasizing the sheer verticality of the exploration.

The sheer labyrinthine nature of the city means that every alley could offer something new and interesting. Maybe you'll find an elevator that leads to a different layer of the city and opens up a shortcut. Various mini-stories may also open up as you explore in addition to all the quests and side quests. The idea is to imbue Night City with a sense of wonder for players.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out on November 19th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It will be compatible for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5 from day one.

Watch Dogs 2, Football Manager 2020 Free on Epic Games Store

watch dogs 2

This week's free offerings on the Epic Games Store are quite varied. They include Ubisoft's Watch Dogs 2, Sports Interactive's Football Manager 2020 and Zoink's Stick It to the Man. You'll need an Epic Games account to claim all of these games and the Epic Games Launcher to play install and play them.

Watch Dogs 2 launched in 2016 and served as a dramatic improvement to the previous game. It sees hacker Marcus Holloway joining DedSec after being convicted by ctOS 2.0 in San Francisco. The group then makes it their mission to take down the ctOS before it can harm more people.

Football Manager 2020 is the latest management simulation from Sports Interactive and features teams from 53 countries and 26 leagues. It's still fairly popular and serves as the premiere title for those wanting to manage their own football team. Finally, there's Stick It to the Man, a fun puzzle game which sees protagonist Ray suddenly having an arm extending from his brain along with mind-reading powers.

All in all, not a bad selection of games – you have until September 24th to claim them. RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 Complete Edition is next week's free game so stay tuned until then.

Xbox Series S Load Times Compared With Xbox One S in New Video

xbox series s

Following up on a video highlighting the snappiness of Quick Resume on the console, Microsoft has released a load time comparison video for the Xbox Series S. Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Worlds is showcased and the time taken to load in from the main menu is compared. Check it out below.

While the RPG requires requires a 53 seconds and some change to load on the Xbox One S, it only takes 10 seconds or so on the Xbox Series S. It's not surprising considering the latter has a solid state drive. But it serves to highlight the difference in loading times for a game of this magnitude (and maybe encourage you to get an Xbox Series S to enjoy it on).

The Xbox Series S is out on November 10th for $299. It launches on the same day as the Xbox Series X which will retail for $499. Pre-orders for both consoles will go live on September 22nd with the exact time revealed here. Stay tuned for more details on the console's features in the coming months.

Xbox Series S / Series X – Exact Pre-order Timings Confirmed by Microsoft

Xbox Series X_S

The PS5's pre-order situation has been a bit of a dumpster fire. Though Sony had originally said that they would give ample notice before opening pre-orders for the console, in the end, that "ample" notice turned out to be a day. And even that day was cut short, with retailers around the world pulling the trigger early. Many who had hoped to get a pre-order in haven't been able to do so, and Sony have been at the end of plenty of criticism for how they've handled the situation. It seems Microsoft are working to ensure that the same doesn't happen with the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

We've known for a while that pre-orders for the consoles will go live on September 22, but in a recent Xbox Wire post, Microsoft gave specific details on timings, retailers, regions, and more, so you can be properly prepared when the time comes.

The Xbox Series S and Series X can be pre-ordered online on September 22 at the following retailers in separate regions at the following times:

  • United States (8AM PT): Microsoft Store, Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, Target, Sam's Club, Newegg, and other participating retailers
  • Canada (8AM PT): Microsoft Store, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, EB Games, The Source, and other participating retailers
  • UK (8AM BST): Microsoft Store, GAME, Amazon, Dixons, Currys PC World, Argos, John Lewis, Smyths Toys, VERY, AO, Tesco, Simply Game, Shopto and other participating retailers
  • Australia (8AM AEST): Microsoft Store, JB Hifi, EB Games, Telstra, Harvey Norman, and other participating retailers
  • New Zealand (8AM NZST): Microsoft Store, JB HiFi, EB Games, Spark, and other participating retailers

Meanwhile, in Europe, Middle East, and Africa, pre-orders will go live at 9 AM CEST at Microsoft Store, Amazon, MediaMarkt, GameStop, FNAC, Elkjøp/Elgiganten, and other participating retailers. Microsoft have also pointed out that "retailers and availability may differ by country."

Meanwhile, if you're looking to go with Microsoft's Xbox All-Access financing options (which gives you an Xbox Series S or Series X plus 24 months of Game Pass Ultimate for $25 or $35 per month respectively for 24 months), you can place those pre-orders at the following retailers:

  • United States (8AM PT): Best Buy, GameStop, Microsoft Store, and Walmart
  • Australia (8AM AEST): Telstra
  • New Zealand (8AM NZST): Spark
  • UK (8AM BST): GAME and Smyths Toys
  • Denmark (9AM CEST): Elgiganten
  • Finland (9AM CEST): Gigantti
  • Norway (9AM CEST): Elkjøp
  • Sweden (9AM CEST): Elgiganten

Microsoft adds that Xbox All-Access won't be available in Canada, France, Poland, and South Korea on September 22, but will be available as an option to consumers there before the upcoming consoles launch. Details on the same are set to be provided at a later date.

The Xbox Series S and Series X will launch worldwide on November 10.

Marvel's Spider-Man Remaster On PS5 To Not Have Free Upgrade For PS4 Owners Of Original Game – Rumor

spider-man

Despite 2020 being a year in which the world seems to be continuously on fire, the launch line up for Sony's PS5 is honestly looking pretty good. Even the line up from Sony themselves is not too shabby (especially compared to the typical console launch line up expectations). Probably the biggest one is Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Alongside Miles getting his time in the sun, it was also announced that 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man was also getting the remaster treatment for the PS5, but it seems if you're hoping for an upgrade option, you're probably out of luck.

The remaster of Spider-Man was announced alongside the Ultimate Edition of Miles Morales on PS5 that includes both games. There's a few things that's unclear, such as whether one can even get the remaster as a separate game or not or if it's only part of this Ultimate Edition. There's also no mention of any kind of upgrade path for PS4 users who bought the original title. Twitter poster Bandicoot posted an alleged conversation between someone and Marvel Games Director of Production, Eric Monacelli, where he seems to confirm that PS4 owners will not get the remastered version of Spider-Man as a free upgrade. Unfortunately, it's not clarified at all if the game can be purchased as a standalone.

It's unclear where this conversation comes from, so for now we'll have to treat it as rumor until something a little more official comes out, but considering how nothing about upgrading was mentioned in the announcement, it's probably a decent bet this is true. As it stands now, the only way known to get the remaster is to buy the Ultimate Edition of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which is exclusive to the PS5 version that will launch alongside the console on November 12th. Marvel's Spider-Man is, of course, available now in its non-remastered form on PS4 and Miles Morales will also launch on that system.

Beyond Good and Evil, Rayman Creator Leaves Ubisoft to Open Wildlife Sanctuary

Beyond Good and Evil 2

In a rather sudden announcement, Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil creator Michel Ancel has moved on from video games. On Instagram, the former director said he was stopping work on video games to "fully focus on my second passion: Wild Life!" Ancel is currently planning to create an open wildlife sanctuary that will be dedicated to "education, nature lover and wild animals."

As for how this impacts Beyond Good and Evil 2, which Ancel has been trying to get made for years now, and WiLD, he responded that, "No worries, since many months now the teams are autonomous and the projects are going super well. Beautiful things to be seen soon." Beyond Good and Evil 2 senior producer Guillaume Brunier also provided some new details in an update on the game's development.

Brunier noted that Ancel "hasn't been directly involved in BG&E2 for some time now, as the team have been hard at work building on top of the solid creative foundation he helped shape. The team's collective strength has us well on our way to developing a flagship next-generation action-adventure game."

The development team has passed an "important internal milestone" that offers "hours of gameplay and an incredible level of freedom in a seamless online sandbox, building upon the promise of our tech demos shown at E3." Ubisoft Paris, which developed Ghost Recon Breakpoint, has been announced as a partner studio with the development team's size being ramped up.

"Next milestone: We are aiming to share more and show you the game in action sometime next year, once we pass our next internal production milestones," said Brunier.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 was first announced at E3 2017 with no platforms confirmed. With Brunier mentioning "next-generation," it could possibly see a release for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Disintegration's Multiplayer Servers Are Being Shut Down Less Than Half a Year After Launch

Disintegration

Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto and his team at indie studio V1 Interactive launched Disintegration halfway through June, bringing a unique mix of shooters and strategy titles. Met with mixed reception from players and critics, Disintegration wasn't the success that its developers would have been hoping it would be, and it seems it hasn't managed to retain a very strong player base in the months since its release.

V1 Interactive and publisher Private Division recently announced in a joint statement that the multiplayer servers of Disintegration will be shut down soon, with all multiplayer modes being removed from the game, owing to a lack of enough players being actively engaged with it. The game's in-game store has been removed already, and multiplayer features will continue to be deactivated over the next couple of months. By November 17, Disintegration will have become a single player-only experience.

"We have made the difficult decision to remove Disintegration's multiplayer modes from the game across all platforms," the statement reads. "This will be done in phases over the coming months, starting today with the removal of the in-game store, and will conclude on November 17th with the full removal of multiplayer. The single player campaign will remain fully playable moving forward."

Private Division and V1 went on to assert in its statement that they stand by the creative risks taken by the development teamThough the game "struggled to build a significant audience necessary for a compelling multiplayer experience", the developer and publisher firmly state that "the video game industry needs constant innovation".

"From both the development team at V1 Interactive and publishing group at Private Division, we stand by the creative risks taken to launch such a unique, genre-bending game created by this small but talented and passionate team," the statement reads. "While our player base showed interest in the single player campaign, the game unfortunately struggled to build a significant audience necessary for a compelling multiplayer experience. After weighing options, we have collectively made the decision to sunset the multiplayer support.

"We believe the video game industry needs constant innovation, and we will continue to take risks, follow creative visions, and support new ideas. To everyone who has played Disintegration: we thank you."

Disintegration is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In our review of the game, we called it "a straightforward experiment that offers an intriguing if derivative world to explore and characters to like." You can read our full review through here.

Sony Considered Lower Spec PS5, Like Xbox Series S, But Worried It Would Become "Outdated" Too Quickly

ps5

This November, both Sony and Microsoft will release two next generation consoles, but in two very different ways. Sony will release a PS5 with a disc drive and one without, but both will effectively be the same system besides that one difference. Microsoft, however, will release the Xbox Series X which will have comparable stats to the PS5, as well as the Xbox Series S, a lower spec machine that is priced to move as the cheapest next generation system that will be on the market. It's a subtle thing, but also goes to show how the two companies are tackling the new generation in different ways. Interestingly, though, it seems Sony did think of going a similar route.

Speaking with AV Watch, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan revealed that Sony did, at one point, look at creating a lower spec PS5 in a similar vein to the Series S. He doesn't go into details about what that specifically would have looked like, but said the company decided against it. It's biggest factors for doing so was he said that releasing lower spec, cheaper systems had not worked out well in the past (though it's unclear what he's actually referencing there) and also fears about longevity. Ryan said there was a thought that eventually customers would expect their systems to be compatible with newer technology, such as 4K TVs, and would be viewed as outdated in a relatively quick time frame (thanks to VGC for translations).

"Clearly, price is a very important factor. We respect other companies' competitive strategies. However, we are fully committed to and believe in our current strategy and the effect it will have.

"One thing that can be said is that if you look at the history of the game business, creating a special low priced, reduced spec console is something that has not had great results in the past. We've considered that option and seen other executives who have attempted this discover how problematic it is.

"Based on our research, it's clear that people who buy a game console want to continue using it for four, five, six or even seven years. They want to believe they have bought something that is future-proofed and not going to be outdated in two-to-three years.

"They want to have faith that if they end up buying a new TV that their current console will be able to support that new 4K TV they are considering on buying."

While Ryan is approaching the idea in a different way, some developers have expressed similar fears about the Series S, especially in regards to its RAM capabilities or lack thereof. It'll remain to be seen if Ryan's prediction will be correct here, but with a price tag a full $100 below even the PS5 Digital Edition, it's hard to imagine the Series S not moving, but it's a wild and crazy industry. The PS5 will launch on November 12th for $499/$399, and the Xbox Series X and S will launch November 10th for $499/$299.
