Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is finally available for Nintendo Switch and not exclusive to just the Wii U. With this release, there are only a few meaningful Wii U titles left on the system that are not available on modern platforms. The Siliconera staff has come together to give our thoughts on the Wii U games we want to see as a remaster or remake on Nintendo Switch next.
![]()
Siliconera Speaks Up: Wii U Remaster We Want Next
It's been nearly a decade since we've sat in the cockpit of an Arwing. If a new installment isn't in the works, I'd at least like to see Star Fox Zero remastered for the Switch 2. With some upgraded visuals and a few tweaks to the controls, there's enough there to satiate the ever-growing hunger of Star Fox fans…for the time being, at least. -- Thomas
When it comes to kart racers Mario Kart will always be considered the king, but Mario Kart 8 isn't my favorite Wii U character racer. I'm a Sega kid at heart, and in the long running battle between the two titans, I think that Sonic has won the battle on the race track. If Diddy Kong Racing could live in harmony with Mario Kart 64, I believe that Switch players should be able to experience the joy that Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed brings. Switching from cars to planes to boats seamlessly, it remains my favorite rocket road racer. -- George
With the release of Xenoblade Chronicles X, that is almost every single game on the Wii U that I have been looking forward to. That is, of course, except for the remastered Zelda titles. Twilight Princess, in particular, is a game that I need to see on either the original Switch or Switch 2. Twilight Princess is shamefully one of the only Zelda games I have never played, which is ironic since its style is one of the most appealing to me, personally. I would love to see Twilight Princess make a return on the Switch 2 so I can finally see how it ranks against the other amazing titles in the series. -- Cody
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is available now for Nintendo Switch.

Post-apocalyptic, nuclear sci-fi fans aren't without options these days. Lesser-known titles such as Encased, Atom RPG, and Wasteland possess unique portrayals of the genre while poking at familiar mechanics with new perspectives. Popular franchises like Fallout, Stalker, and Metro offer a wide berth for those seeking a particular experience within the general setting. There truly is no shortage of this style of game, so new concepts need to stand out in order to find a seat at the table. At first glance, Atomfall might resemble these iconic series with its eponymous premise. However, as the secrets of the zone are unraveled, so too does Atomfall reveal a novel, engaging adventure inside a compelling world.
Loosely based on the real-life Windscale fire, a nuclear disaster that occurred in the northern part of England in 1957, Atomfall begins with a brief retelling of these events- adding its fictional spin on them in the process. You wake-up disoriented on a cot inside a bunker, as a wounded stranger in a hazmat suit stumbles into your room. The stranger explains you're inside the quarantine zone containing the Windscale plant, and urges you to escape by any means necessary. He hands you a keycard for a place called the Interchange, and begs you to let the whole world know of what's been happening within. You leave the bunker. An oddly placed telephone booth just a few feet in front of you begins to ring. You answer. A voice on the other end croaks, "Oberon must die."
![]()
This is how your journey through Atomfall begins. With secrets on top of secrets. Uncovering new information only adds more layers to the ongoing mystery of the Interchange, and the various people you meet in the zone all guard their knowledge- and themselves- with fervor. In a landscape of games too quick to divulge every last detail of its world upon you, Atomfall insists on leaving the investigation entirely in your hands. Refreshingly, every ounce of information you uncover about the zone, the interchange, and the poor souls stuck inside is earned by braving dangerous locations, interrogating NPCs with evidence of their schemes, and finding your way behind locked doors and into hidden areas.
Typical quest structures are replaced by a journal of leads, cataloguing everything you've found. What you do with it is up to you; there are no waypoints in Atomfall. No objective markers that urge you to investigate a specific place or person. I absolutely adore this. Being left to my own devices, to deduce the answer to a riddle or triangulate the location of an item, is incredibly rewarding. Even when you're wrong, the multiple areas you can explore in Cumberland yield new leads and answers to other mysteries. With so many unreliable voices to extract the truth from, and information drip-fed to you after harrowing encounters with the zone's many dangers, Atomfall's mysteries are captivating in a way other games in this genre don't quite achieve.
![]()
This intense devotion to push players towards exploring as much as they can, and making their own conclusions based on what they learn, is woven tightly together by Atomfall's self-touted action-survival gameplay. There are no RPG mechanics in Atomfall. Ammunition is precious. Enemies are deadly. Skills are revealed by reading their respective manuals. You then learn them by consuming special items typically found at the end of dungeons or in hidden areas. Currency doesn't exist. Players must barter hard-won resources for valuable crafting recipes or tools. If not, they can brave the dangers of the zone to find them elsewhere. Even upgrading weapons is locked behind finding the proper manual that unlocks the skill allowing them to do so.
All of this is balanced out by static inventory space, and carrying limits on crafting materials and ammo. Only ever crafting when I needed to in order to preserve inventory space. Ensuring I had enough materials on-hand to make what I needed in emergencies. Forcing myself to only use my guns to deal with serious threats. Crawling behind a box after taking a hit that ate more than half my health so I could craft a bandage in a hurry. Despite all of my skills and upgraded guns, I would still find myself in tense situations.
![]()
This is all thanks to a key component of how Atomfall treats the player. You can get better at killing things, but you will never become harder to kill. Again: I adore this. It culminates in a consistently exciting chain of interactions. Exploring an early area yields an equally challenging encounter as one you might find deeper in the zone. It's worth mentioning Atomfall has no fast travel; an intentional choice. Getting from Point A to Point B alive is about managing resources. Managing resources is a pillar of Atomfall's gameplay. A lack of fast travel is integral to Atomfall delivering the gameplay experience it's aiming for. Areas aren't terribly large to begin with. You can walk from one end of them to the other in a couple of minutes. That being said, I wanted a faster way to get around when wrapping up loose ends while finishing my playthrough.
If any of this sounds exciting, then Atomfall won't disappoint you. If only some of it does, Atomfall still has you covered. While its baseline difficulty (Survivor) was exactly what I wanted, you can customize your difficulty by tweaking various settings. These include adding waypoints for leads to your map, adjusting enemy behavior, bartering values, loot scarcity, and more. Difficulty settings are adjustable at any time during your playthrough as well. While we're at it, Atomfall also has a modest selection of accessibility options. Mileage on these may vary, but audio cues, aim assists, and being able to automate functions such as forward movement and attacks are very helpful for those of us who need them.
![]()
So much of Atomfall is united in delivering an engrossing experience. Yet, I find it slightly lacking in the mystery's most important facet: a satisfying conclusion. Good mystery doesn't need to reveal all in order to deliver a great story. In fact, Atomfall will leave you with questions you can only hope to answer by putting the pieces together afterward- which is fantastic! Unfortunately, the big reveals towards the end aren't as exciting as the lead-up to them.
Once I realized the quarantine was for more than a simple nuclear accident, I was hoping to learn more about those elements. I was looking to explore the mysteries of Atomfall through that avenue. However, the game is almost reluctant to explore this specific aspect of its world. Without going into spoilers: it would've been nice to have more the sci-fi alongside the high levels of curiosity Atomfall had injected me with.
Despite this, I was still incredibly impressed with Atomfall. Dense maps filled to the brim with things to discover. A strong delivery of world-building and storytelling. Engaging gameplay that wasn't afraid to ask more of me. Not to mention impeccable sound design! It kept me on my toes as much as it convinced me of the spaces I was travelling through. In the end, I was thoroughly happy. I wanted more of this world and its secrets. If that phone ever starts ringing again, I will definitely answer.
Atomfall is now available PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC.

Colleen Hoover has rapidly gone from BookTok sensation to beloved household name over the last few years, and the first movie adaptation of her books, It Ends With Us, she's been propelled into infamy among fans of the romance and thriller genres.
CoHo (as she's affectionately known to fans) has published a staggering 26 books over her 13-year career, with four novels released in 2013 alone. On the list of 25 best-selling books of 2022 by NPD BookScan, Colleen Hoover's published books took up eight spots, including the top three.
She's an incredibly prolific and popular writer, with die-hard fans all having their preferred ranked lists of her stories. There are entire series of books, standalone titles, and some short stories among her published works.
There's a formula that many of Hoover's books share — one person is suddenly thrust into a position they didn't want to be in, but they meet someone who makes them see the good in that situation through flirting and, eventually, love. She definitely has a preferred plotline, although she deviates from it occasionally, and somehow all the stories end up being uniquely memorable.
If you want to dive into a CoHo book, it can be hard to figure out where to begin. With that in mind, here are 10 of her best.
10. Slammed (2012)
![]()
Slammed was Hoover's first published book, and she self-published it through Amazon so that her mother, who had just gotten a Kindle, could read it. Likely, she didn't expect it to take the number 8 spot on the top-selling list of 2022, ten years later. It's a tale of loss and slam poetry, with some sweet and transformative romance thrown in for good measure.
9. Heart Bones (2020)
![]()
Heart Bones is the story of Beyah Grim, who ends up stuck on a Texas peninsula. She's drawn to all things morbid and sad and wants to build a better life for herself, away from her poverty-stricken upbringing. Samson is rich, and she can't see how they have anything in common until she realizes he is also interested in sad things, and of course, that draws them together. A summer fling turns into much more, quite against Beyah's will.
8. All Your Perfects (2018)
![]()
Hoover breaks away from her boy-meets-girl pattern with All Your Perfects, which instead begins and ends with a married couple on the verge of irreparable damage to their relationship. They each have secrets, they've both made mistakes, and circumstances threaten to pull them apart, but their marriage could be saved if they're willing to stick to promises they made in better times.
7. Hopeless (2012)
![]()
Hopeless is another boy-meets-girl story, but the girl (Sky) already knows the boy (Dean), or at least she thinks she does. She doesn't want to know him any better than she already does, but something about him captivates and scares the hell out of her in equal measure. Dean has secrets, and discovering them completely upends Sky's life in a way she never expected.
6. Too Late (2016)
![]()
Although Too Late takes a huge step away from being a basic romance, there is still some involved, although this book is mostly a thriller about a woman who gets caught up with a drug trafficker to pay for her brother's care. Sloan is in over her head, but DEA agent Carter enters the picture, and attraction blooms amid the illegal chaos that Sloan has found herself in the middle of.
5. November 9 (2015)
![]()
If you read the blurb of November 9, you'd think it's a sweet love story. However, please don't go into it expecting that because this book is dark. An author named Ben meets a woman named Fallon, and they spend a glorious day together, inspiring his latest novel. But he needs more inspiration, and it needs to be dramatic, and he'll stop at nothing to use Fallon to his advantage.
4. Reminders of Him (2022)
![]()
CoHo is always a solid choice if you want an emotional rollercoaster. Reminders of Him not only takes you through a seemingly doomed love story between ex (wrongly convicted) convict Kenna and Ledger but also Kenna's equally doomed endeavors to reunite with her four-year-old daughter, born while she was in prison.
3. Ugly Love (2014)
![]()
For those who read many romance stories, Ugly Love is a basic story of a casual sexual relationship that grows deeper than either party imagined. Tate and Miles are attracted to each other physically, but they aren't particularly fond of each other in any other way. Neither wants a relationship, but both have needs that the other can fulfill, so they become casual lovers. At least until pesky feelings throw a spanner in the works that neither can avoid.
2. It Ends With Us
![]()
Maybe it's controversial to put It Ends With Us in the number two spot, considering it is, as of yet, the only CoHo book to have its own star-studded movie adaptation. The first in a two-book series (completed in It Starts With Us), It Ends With Us is a bit of a love triangle with copious secrets, questionable motives, and dark pasts thrown in.
1. Verity (2018)
![]()
Verity is about Lowen, a struggling writer, who is brought in to help ghostwrite the remaining books in a series by a famous and beloved thriller author (Verity) after the latter is left in a comatose state in a car accident. Seems like a dream come true for Lowen, but she soon finds herself falling for Verity's husband, and not everything is as it seems within the household. Murder, dangerous jealousy, and a psychopathic need for control play a huge role in the story, and the end will leave you questioning everything.
If you've read all of these Colleen Hoover books, check out our list of books like Verity to give you more reading material of the same ilk.

In Atomfall, you may find the need to unlock the Sewer Tunnels in the first region of the game. There's a key that grants access, but that's just the start. A Maintenance access door within requires a second Sewer Tunnel key, which isn't as quick to locate.
To unlock the Sewer Tunnels door in Atomfall, you must locate a specific shopkeeper willing to grant you a key — for the right price. But how do you start your hunt for this mysterious vendor?
In northwestern Slatten Dale, there is a locked door leading to the Sewer Tunnels. Its coordinates on the map are 24.9E, 78.1N. But what about the key?
![]()
Where to find the key to the Sewer Tunnels in Atomfall
The key is in the possession of a merchant in Slatten Dale who gives it up if you're willing to trade. Attached to the wall left of the door is a note titled "Yours for a fair price!" Reading it reveals that the trader Molly Jowett has the key for the concrete shelter that leads to the tunnels. She requests that anyone interested should find her "down the hill."
![]()
Leave the bunker and travel northeast along the path, descending the hill. Walk until you spot smoke rising from a small shelter in a clearing.
![]()
This is Molly's Trader Camp, and meeting with her will put it right on the map at 26.3E, 79.0N. Speak with Molly until she gives you the option to Barter.
![]()
Select Barter to check Molly's stock for the key. In the list of items on the right-hand side is what you need: Concrete Shelter Key.
Best items to trade for the key
Like other traders in Atomfall, Molly uses the Barter system, which sees you trading items for items — no cash required. But some traders prefer certain goods over others, and Molly is no exception. She'll trade you for the key but cares more for particular items. You can check trader preferences by looking in the To Give section of the Barter menu.
![]()
Here are some of Molly's preferred items from Low to High:
A single High item may not be enough to earn the key. You'll need to mix and match items until the scales tip in your favor. This is also a good way to offload a lot of junk.
Return to the Concrete Shelter with the key and unlock the door. But there's another locked door in the sewer tunnels that requires a key.
Where to find the Sewer Tunnel Key in Atomfall
Following the Maintenance signs in the Sewer Tunnels will lead you to the locked Maintenance room. Opening it requires the Sewer Tunnel Key, which doesn't seem to be anywhere close — you'd be wrong. The key is nearby in the locked Control Room, but reaching it isn't as simple as you think.
![]()
The Sewer Tunnel Key can be found by accessing its locked Control Room via the Casterfell Woods region. Look for signs pointing to the Casterfell Woods in the Sewer Tunnels.
Follow the signs to a gated door at the end of a sewer tunnel leading north. The door is refreshingly unlocked.
![]()
To find the room with the key, you must first access the elevated highway that runs vertically through the middle of Casterfell Woods.
The fastest way onto the road is to head north from the Sewer Tunnel exit. Walk for a short way, and then go east when you're able to travel under the road.
![]()
Hug the rocky wall to your right and follow it going west. You'll eventually begin walking up a short hill that leads to two ladders. Take the ladders to the road and head south while avoiding bandits until you reach the closed-off tunnel.
![]()
To the left of the southern tunnel entrance is another concrete shelter.
![]()
Open it to enter the Control Room. Search the room near a desk to find a corpse.
![]()
Looting the corpse gives you the Sewer Tunnel Key and a note. Take the key back down to the Maintenance Room and unlock the door.
Once inside, squeeze through the gap between the crates and toppled shelves to reach the back area.
![]()
There, you'll find a wealth of resources such as cloth, ammo, string, and more. Check the ground for a B.A.R.D. Crate, which contains items and a Training Stimulant.
![]()
With that, you've finished with the Sewer Tunnels and are ready to tackle the next Atomfall mystery.

There are some powerful working tools to unlock in Schedule 1, and the Cauldron is necessary during the endgame.
This particular workstation is mandatory to make Cocaine, but you can't just purchase it whenever you want. This guide will explain everything related to Cauldron and how to use it in the game.
How to unlock the Cauldron in Schedule 1?
You'll have to reach Enforcer 1 to unlock the Cauldron, which takes a fair amount of XP. The same can also be said about gaining access to the ingredients required for preparing Cocaine. Once unlocked, you can purchase this workstation for $3,000 from Oscar.
To find Oscar, go to the Warehouse after 6 pm (located right next to the Docks). He's one of the three available vendors at this POI and is located on the right side of the building.
![]()
How to use the Cauldron in Schedule 1?
As of writing, the Cauldron seems to be used for one purpose only. By mixing Coca leaves with Gasoline, you'll be able to make raw Cocaine, which has to be put through the Lab Oven. Doing so bakes the raw materials and turns them into sellable Cocaine bits.
The Cauldron doesn't appear to have any other usage as of writing. Neither Meth nor the Marijuana mixes require it, but this could change in the future. Plenty of updates are planned, including new drugs to produce, and some of them could require using Cauldron.
If you don't want to use the workstation alone, you can assign a Chemist to do the task. To prepare Cocaine, you'll require 20 Coca Leaves, a jar of Gasoline, and six real-life minutes.
While the Cauldron certainly helps you to make a lot of money by selling high-valued Cocaine, make sure to check out our list of best mixes for all drugs. Some of them can be prepared in a basic mixing station, but you get far better returns compared to selling the base version of the same drugs.
