New Lost Ark update fixes PvP issues, updates Battle Item Bundle

A new Lost Ark update is now live after some server downtime this morning. It's just a minor one this week, with a few slight updates and bug fixes. First and foremost, it addresses an issue where players in the Competitive Proving Grounds were starting at Bronze Rank (1,250 MMR) instead of the intended Silver Rank (1,500 MMR).

Those players who had already begun their seasonal progress in Competitive Proving Grounds will see their MMR adjusted upwards by 250 to compensate, while anyone just starting out after the update should already begin at the correct 1,500 MMR ranking. In addition to this, the weekly Battle Item Bundle has been adjusted slightly, allowing players to select their preferred battle item chests from a list rather than receiving a randomly-selected one upon opening them.

Other bug fixes include an issue causing the overtime timer to appear during PvP matches and an issue allowing chat text to be "unsuitably altered or displayed outside of the chat box." The team also states that they are aware that server time is being displayed incorrectly in certain European regions observing DST, but doesn't say when this is likely to be resolved.

E3 will not rest in peace

E3 2022 is cancelled. E3 2022 was already cancelled, but today, the Electronic Software Association has confirmed that there will be no digital show, either. Yet the ESA insists that E3 is not dead, as the group is already planning a return to Los Angeles for a live show in 2023.

"E3 will return in 2023 with a reinvigorated showcase that celebrates new and exciting video games and industry innovations," an ESA representative tells us in a statement via email. "We previously announced that E3 would not be held in person in 2022 due to the ongoing health risks surrounding COVID-19. Today, we announce that there will also be no digital E3 showcase in 2022.

"Instead, we will devote all our energy and resources to delivering a revitalised physical and digital E3 experience next summer. Whether enjoyed from the show floor or your favourite devices, the 2023 showcase will bring the community, media, and industry back together in an all-new format and interactive experience. We look forward to presenting E3 to fans around the world live from Los Angeles in 2023."

     The Division 2 is

The next season of The Division 2 is coming soon. After a long dormant period, Ubisoft has announced that the PTS for the upcoming season of the military MMO game is now available for pre-load, and will be playable tomorrow, April 1 (we're pretty sure this isn't a prank).

While the new season won't hit the live servers for a few days, we do have some patch notes for the PTS. The new season will feature a new game mode called Countdown, which has eight players take on various PvE objectives in a timed mission on a "new unique map." You'll be able to join a team through matchmaking, and the mode has new gear and weapon drops associated with it.

There's also a new system called expertise, which allows characters to gain experience with specific weapons, gear sets, and skill variants. The idea is that you'll gain proficiency ranks in any eligible item type by using that item (or skill), and when you've maxed out your proficiency rank on that item, you'll be able to increase the grade of individual items of that type. You agent's overall expertise level goes up as you gain proficiency ranks across items.

The update also includes some new gear and exotic weapons. There's Dread Edict, an exotic version of the SVD sniper rifle that adds up to 20 stacks of increased weapon and headshot damage on enemies you hit. Reloading clears the stacks and grants you 5% of your total max armour value for each stack cleared. You can keep stacking by hitting headshots, since these refill Dread Edict's magazine.

World of Warcraft update fixes motion sickness in two dungeons

A new World of Warcraft update has brought some relief to players suffering from motion sickness while playing two of the MMO's dungeons. Motion sickness is something which affects a lot of people in videogames, and as a result developers are always looking for accessibility options to help minimise the negative impact it can have on player experience. Recently, a World of Warcraft player posted to the Blizzard forums asking for help with one such issue, and received some good news in return.

User Maizou notes that while options such as disabling camera shake have proven helpful in mitigating the impact of motion sickness, certain areas and encounters are particularly problematic. Grimrail Depot, a dungeon which takes place aboard a moving train, and Maw of Souls, which puts players aboard a boat, both tend to cause issues due to their constantly moving backgrounds.

Maizou emphasises that this can't be alleviated with careful camera placement, as certain mechanics in the dungeons require players to see the entire arena, and that the motion sickness was severe enough that each time they were put into Grimrail Depot by the Timewalking dungeon rotation left them "in bed for hours afterwards feeling like I'm going to throw up, to be blunt."

Warhammer 40K: Darktide release date confirmed

Developer Fatshark has unveiled the release date for their upcoming co-op game Warhammer 40K: Darktide. The four-player co-op shooter, which follows in the footsteps of Fatshark's successful Warhammer: Vermintide series, will be arriving on PC and Xbox Series consoles on September 13.

Originally scheduled to release in 2021, Darktide was previously pushed back to spring 2022 due to the challenges of developing while working from home. In addition to the newly-announced September 13 release date, Fatshark has also put out a behind-the-scenes video on the game's Steam store page showing off some of the work the team have been doing during its development.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide looks to be a natural successor to Vermintide, adopting the intense co-op action of those titles to the futuristic setting of 40K, with a blend of melee and ranged combat against the gruesome hordes of the 40K universe across a wealth of grimy, industrial environments. Players start as a prisoner who goes on to be recruited by the Inquisition, and must then go on missions to gain their trust.

Hyper Light Breaker revealed with extremely cool trailer

The sequel to beloved indie hit Hyper Light Drifter is on its way, and it looks incredibly cool. Hyper Light Breaker, a fully 3D and open-world game, has just been revealed in a flashy new animated trailer, and it's set for a 2023 release date.

The trailer shows a slim, hooded figure approaching a group of guards on a bridge suspended in a strange, alternate dimension. The figure produces the grip of an energy staff, and dashes into combat. They slice, dice, dodge, and wall-run before finally unleashing a devastating slam manoeuvre that finishes off the remaining enemies.

It's a action-packed and stylish sequence, and it establishes a continuity with Hyper Light Drifter, the 2D action RPG that came out in 2016. What's most incredible, however, is that the final few seconds reveal what Hyper Light Breaker actually looks like: lush with colour, a sprawling alien world to explore, and a main character with blue hair and a long cat's tail. If anything, it looks better than the hand-animated sequence that came before it.

An Xbox Game Pass family plan is reportedly incoming

An Xbox Game Pass family plan is coming, potentially sometime this year, according to a new report. The plan would allow as many as five individual Microsoft accounts to make use of Xbox Game Pass, at a rate "far cheaper" than purchasing those subscriptions separately.

"According to trusted sources familiar with Microsoft's efforts," Jez Corden at Windows Central writes, "we can now confirm that Xbox is moving ahead with an Xbox Game Pass family plan, which could be set to launch sometime this year." According to the report, the Xbox Game Pass family plan would allow up to five players to use the service for a single subscription price that would be "far cheaper than paying for five separate XGP accounts".

There are plenty of unknowns, however. There's no word on price (other than it being cheaper than separate accounts), and there's no information yet on which tiers of Game Pass this deal would apply to - we don't know if there will be an option for a PC Game Pass family plan, for example

New FFXIV alliance raid will be a standalone story

The new FFXIV alliance raid will be a standalone story, not unlike the previous Return to Ivalice raid. Final Fantasy XIV director Yoshi-P has given interviews to Famitsu, Game Watch, and 4gamer ahead of the upcoming Live Letter 70 on Friday, April 1. With the MMORPG's recent Endwalker expansion bringing closure to several long-running story threads, Yoshida emphasises that he wanted patch 6.1, set to release in mid-April, to show players that new challenges still await them in Eorzea.

In particular, Yoshida addresses the upcoming 24-man Myths of the Realm alliance raid, which he compares to Stormblood's Return to Ivalice content. He says that during his playtesting he felt that the content was "quite difficult" but remarks that feedback from players suggested a higher challenge would be preferential to content being too easy, at least during the weeks after release.

Regarding the Myths of the Realm story, Yoshida says (as translated by aitaikimochi on Twitter) that it will be an entirely original, standalone narrative for FFXIV, with no guest directors being featured (in contrast to Return To Ivalice's Yasumi Matsuno and YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse's Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito, who contributed to development of the cross-promotional alliance raids in Stormblood and Shadowbringers respectively).

Yu-Gi-Oh: Master Duel reworks its daily mission system

Yu-Gi-Oh: Master Duel's daily missions are getting a major rework. In an in-game message, Konami has confirmed some key changes to the system which will reduce the time commitment to collect gems dramatically, at the cost of slightly fewer gems to earn overall. These changes will be live as of the March 31 daily reset.

Now, all missions will reward you with 40 gems. Missions to duel in ranked mode are gone, as are the multi-tiered missions for winning different numbers of duels. Now, the majority of missions give you specific in-game tasks, like destroying cards, declaring attacks, or dealing 15,000 damage in ranked mode.

The uniform approach to gem rewards means that players will no longer be encouraged to stack their dailies. Previously, many Master Duel players would leave cheaper rewards unclaimed so that the game would only rotate in the more valuable missions, which could get you more gems each month. Now, there's no longer an incentive to do so.

Star Trek: Resurgence feels like playing a real episode

While there have been plenty of Star Trek films, novels, and games over its many decades and generations, the television series have been the entry points for many of its millions of fans. Star Trek: Resurgence, an upcoming adventure game from a studio of former Telltale developers, is perhaps the first Trek videogame that manages to recapture the sounds, the feel, and the looks of '90s-era Star Trek.

In a hands-on demo at GDC, I jump into the shoes of Jara Rydek, a newly-minted executive officer reporting for duty aboard the Starfleet ship Resolute. The captain, a weathered, fatherly man named Solano, explains that I'm coming aboard at a crucial time: the Resolute is undergoing repairs thanks to a disastrous - and embarrassing - experiment gone wrong about six months ago. "We need a win," he explains, making a fist and lightly tapping his desk for emphasis.

I'm given choices to direct Jara's interjections during the conversation, opting to play the part of an eager hard-charger who's ready to take on any challenges but also follow orders. What's most striking about it all is how Resurgence already feels so aligned with Star Trek: The Next Generation and Voyager. The shot composition, the set designs (look at all that carpet!), and the dialogue all make it feel like I'm settling in to watch a new episode of a classic Trek series.

Core Keeper is like Minecraft with purpose

Minecraft is all about freedom. It's about finding your way, making your own fun, and building your own space in the world. It's a game in which you, the player, have the power to do pretty much anything. It might start out as punching trees, but eventually you carve your own path through the procedurally generated world, free from guidance and instruction. This total freedom is a joy for many players, but for others it leads to disinterest, and if you're someone who prefers a hint of direction then we might have just the game for you.

Core Keeper, which is threatening to break through into the top Steam games, retains a lot of the key components found within Minecraft, like crafting, creating your own home, and exploration, but they're baked into a structure that's easy to follow without having to resort to tutorials. If you've bounced off survival games like Minecraft before, you could find that Core Keeper is the one that finally sticks.

When you start a new Core Keeper save, it opens up with a cutscene that explains who you're playing as and why they find themselves underground. Now, that's not a big deal for some people, but if you like to know what's going on in a game, then this will be a huge boon. After this, you're dumped into a subterranean world with only a couple of basic items at hand, but there's another important distinction: you're surrounded by three strange devices you can interact with, each representing a major boss you have to go and kill. Et voilà, you have a purpose.

Valorant devs explain what goes into making weapon skins

If you've been playing as much of Riot's tactical FPS game as we have, you'll be familiar with the range of Valorant weapon skins on offer to customise your loadout to your personal tastes. Following some criticism on the upcoming Endeavour skin from former Call of Duty pro Matthew 'Nadeshot' Haag, though, Valorant's associate art director Sean Marino has taken to Twitter to speak about their development process and the work that goes into making custom skins.

Nadeshot had expressed disappointment that the new skin bundle, which is part of the game's lowest-priced "Select tier" of skins, doesn't come with any alternate colours or special effects. For comparison, while Select skins normally cost 875 VP (~ $10 USD) per skin or 2930/3500 VP (~ $34/$41 USD) per bundle, the flashiest Ultra and Exclusive tiers can run upwards of a whopping 2475 VP (~ $30 USD) per skin or 9900 VP (~ $119 USD) per bundle.

Marino is careful to speak about both the desires of the team and the actual effort required to make some of the flashier ideas come to life in-game. Citing the magical woods-themed Gaia's Vengeance and sleek military Protocol bundles, which do feature unique special effects, audio changes, and colour variants, Marino noted that both skin bundles were pushed back from their original release dates to ensure they hit the high standards that the team had in mind. He states that sometimes "We get a decent way into production and realise we just weren't hitting the mark, and have to start over."

Epic's next free game is a roguelike with genetics

Another week has just about wrapped up, which means it's time to get a peek at what the next free PC game will be on the Epic Games Store. This week, you can grab a free copy of the first Total War: Warhammer, but once that offer wraps up, you'll be able to pick up platformer roguelike game Rogue Legacy, starting April 7.

Rogue Legacy casts you as a plucky adventurer set to purge a castle of the evil within, while picking up lots of loot on the way. As a roguelike, the layout changes with every run, but you'll be able to suss out how the various parts tend to fit together after you've made a few attempts. It's tough going at first though, and you'll need to buy better gear and find new abilities in order to survive long enough to take on the challenging bosses.

The 'legacy' part kicks in whenever you die - which will probably happen pretty frequently. Each time that happens, one of your children will take up your quest, and you'll be able to pick which one you want to take into the dungeon. They'll each have inherited some strange trait from their parents, and those traits include things like gigantism, colour-blindness, or irritable bowel syndrome.

Want to know about the Yelan banner release date in Genshin Impact? Yelan has been in the RPG game's files since the 2.0 update, and we're getting more details about this new Genshin Impact character as time goes on. Her original datamined profile had her listed under the 'tall woman' model, and other rumours pointed to her being a hydro bow user.

While the Genshin Impact Yelan banner release date isn't known right now, some of the rumours have been cleared up at least. A post on the official Genshin Impact Twitter account formally revealed the character towards the end of March 2022 along with Kuki Shinobu, just before the Genshin Impact 2.6 release date.

We got a character art poster and some minor details, including the fact that she's a hydro disciple. Further information taken from a beta for the 2.7 build has seemingly confirmed that she is bow wielder, as well as what her abilities are likely to be. Here's everything we know about Yelan in Genshin Impact so far, including her abilities and her banner release date.

How to recover the missing Fortnite battle bus plans

Want to know where to recover the missing Fortnite battle bus plans? As part of the second week of resistance challenges to fight back against the Imagined Order in Fortnite, you need to find the schematics for a new, hardier battle bus. These challenges begin by establishing communications with an uplink in specific spots on the map.

In addition to recovering the missing Fortnite battle bus plans, this week's other resistance challenges ask you to fuel up a car and take it out for a test drive. You'll also need to seek out one of the many Fortnite tank locations to steal its armour plating and hijack one of these armoured juggernauts to bring back to the Seven.

To help you finish the first part of this week's resistance challenges quickly, we have all of the Fortnite battle bus plans locations you can head to once you activate the communications link.      GTA podium car: here's what vehicle you can win in GTA Online

What is the GTA podium car this week? GTA Online vehicles are expensive things, so we're happy to take a spin on the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel to get a discount. Winning isn't guaranteed, sure, but it isn't out of the question either. Look, we don't have a problem - leave it alone.

Finding out what the GTA Online podium car is simple enough - it's winning it that's the challenge. You can spin the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel once a day, and each Podium Car refreshes after seven days on a Thursday. Basically, you have seven shots to get the vehicle of that given week. If you own a Penthouse, you can spin it for free, but if you don't it's $500 a spin. Don't fret if you don't win, as you can try for something else.

You have a one in 20 chance of getting the podium vehicle, a car discount, or a mystery prize. There's a four in 20 chance of getting clothes, chips, and cash. Finally, there's a five in 20 chance of getting RP. On that note, here's everything you need to know about this week's GTA podium car.

Want to know about the GTA Online Prize Ride challenge? The Los Santos Tuners update introduced plenty of new content, all focused on the city's underground tuner scene. There's a new 'social space', called the LS Car Meet, where you can show off your souped-up cars, race with fellow gearheads, and take on jobs - here's how to join the LS Car Meet in the Los Santos Tuners update.

If you want to know what the GTA Prize Ride reward is, there are some other things you need to know first. Throughout your time spent in the Car Meet, you can level up your reputation and unlock new benefits as you progress. There's also a huge Test Track inside the warehouse, where you can try out Test Rides - a great opportunity to take different vehicles for a spin.

Becoming an LS Car Meet member sets you back $50,000 in-game bucks, but it grants you access to a bunch of underground shops - the Merch Shop, Tattoo Shop, and a Modding Area where you can tweak your car in real time. At higher levels, you can create your own customised area in the Car Meet, called a Private Takeover. LS Car Meet members can also compete in Prize Ride challenges, in order to be in with a chance to win a Prize Ride.

Destiny 2: what is the Legendary Lost Sector today?

Are you looking for the Legend or Master Lost Sector locations in Destiny 2? While many Destiny 2 Exotics can be bought from Xûr or even in the world loot pool, the Exotics in these special Lost Sector instances cannot, forcing players to explore these dangerous areas if they want the best equipment available. To make matters worse, you have to complete them on your own to get a chance at the best rewards.

The location for the Legend and Master Lost Sector quests appear with the daily reset at 5pm UTC. Before you can take on Legend Lost Sectors, you need to complete all the normal Lost Sectors first. If you don't, the new Legend Lost Sectors will not appear on the map. Each day, the location, modifiers, and rewards rotate out for something new. As of Season of the Risen, the Legend and Master Lost Sector quests both take place in the same location.

It's important to remember that Exotic drops are not guaranteed after completing these quests, so you may have to run through the same Lost Sector multiple times. You can go through them quests with a fireteam, but your rewards will be reduced to Enhancement Cores only.

I remember when Diablo 3 was released. One of the (many) talking points around the game was its art style, and the perception that Blizzard had made the art style lighter and friendlier versus the gothic greys of the previous two games. The criticism seemed a little overblown and silly at the time, but here we are reading the latest quarterly update on the development of Diablo 4. It focuses on the new game's art, and the phrase "return to darkness" is used repeatedly.

Hi, everyone!

Just wanted to let people know we're in the process of moving to a new host today. This means things might be a bit weird. Tech is handling things, and we aren't expecting any issues.

However, we wanted to let everyone know in the event anything does happen. (And not have anyone worried that this might be some bad April Fools' joke.)

We are expecting everything to be completed within the next few hours. Also, following the move, our search function will return.

Hope you all have a good day!

Review: Kirby and the Forgotten Land Makes the Post-Apocalypse Appealing

We already knew the Kirby series could make Eldritch abominations lovable. Now we know that HAL Laboratory can make a post-apocalyptic world a rather pleasant place to be. Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a joyful 3D foray, all things considered. Even though the situation starts out a bit dire and mysterious, it quickly proves that we will always a good and goofy time when our buddy Kirby is around.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land begins with Kirby and denizens of Dream Land being sucked into another world. Kirby awakes on a beach near a ruined city. After exploring a bit, he finds a dilapidated world with animal-like inhabitants. However, there are also captured Waddle Doos. After meeting a flying squirrel-like mascot named Elfilin, Kirby sets off to explore more of the world, figure out what's going on, and save the day.

Review: Kirby and the Forgotten Land Makes the Post-Apocalypse Appealing

A 3D Kirby world works much like a 2D one. Enemies abound, and they're as adorable as they are aggressive. (Though sometimes the Awoofies just need a nap.) Inhaling some will grant him Copy Abilities. 12 are present, with each one getting between one and three upgraded forms. Stages are filled with secrets and traps. Which means exploring is critical to finding every captured Waddle Doo and secret. Many of these "extras" can involve things like removing wanted posters, reuniting duck families, getting certain times while racing, or even finding special areas. When you trigger a condition, a notification pops up in the bottom right corner the screen. This alerts you to how many other goals might need to be met. Complete them, and you get more Waddle Doos.

Once you get through locations in an area, the boss stage opens up. At this point, if you've rescued enough Waddle Doos, they'll beat down the door so you can get inside. These stages are much more brief, naturally. You get a sense of scope for the new area. A few Copy Abilities are on hand to choose from that might work well for the fight. (In many cases, they'll also be tied to hidden tasks.) A Maxim Tomato will probably be around. You'll then face one of the bigger foes, with the second stage of these fights always adding new attacks. Also, if you do fall during these matches, or at any time during the game, you'll only lose 100 Star Coins and be able to keep going.

Review: Kirby and the Forgotten Land Makes the Post-Apocalypse Appealing

While this does mean a smaller number of Copy Abilities, it still offers some variety. For context, Kirby: Planet Robobot offered 27 for Kirby himself and 13 Modes for the Robobot Armor, while Kirby Star Allies included 28 and 13 special Dream Friends. However, each one's tiered approach does add some extra variety. By collecting Rare Stones from brief Treasure Road challenge levels dedicated to showing off a specific ability, coins, and blueprints, you can have the Waddle Doo Blacksmith evolve them. The new versions tend to increase the abilities' powers and add new functions. The difference between a Cutter and Chakram Cutter is more blades. You start with a Bomb, can pay to get Chain Bombs that link together for bigger blasts, and eventually can invest in Homing Bombs that can seek out enemies. Once you unlock a tier, you can set which one is the one that will appear in levels. It is handy.

Though admittedly, I was sad to see a few of my favorite skills didn't make the cut. This isn't to say the new Copy Abilities are inadequate in any way. I'm a very big fan of the Ranger. Especially the Space Ranger's look and abilities. The Drill is also mechanically interesting when it comes to exploring. It is clear the skills that are here appear because they work well with what HAL is trying to do.

Needle Copy Ability

And then there is Mouthful Mode. This is a new mechanic that involves Kirby inhaling some sort of item or piece of technology left behind to use it in helpful ways. They look weird! They also work pretty well! Some are more fun than others. I really liked Ring Mouth, which involves puffs of air, as it ended up being more versatile than expected. Car Mouth — affectionately known as Karby — appears both for drives that involve ramming through obstacles and racing on impromptu courses. Some Mouthful Modes are just about unlocking access to a new area or item, like Dome Mouth or Storage Mouth. They're occasionally novel and always silly. You'll see some more than others, but I was pleased that a few variants showed up more often than I expected. Though you definitely will see a few specifically designed to appear only in select situations, then barely show up again

What I appreciate most is the world around Kirby. There are absolutely some fun level design decisions in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. A stage in which using the ice ability to stake around is a winner. So is a desert wasteland that rewards you for packing pistols. The way a haunted house plays with hidden paths and subterfuge and a mall relies in maps to lead to secrets. Things work well. You're rewarded for experimenting. Certain spaces are clearly designed for specific power ups. It's often obvious too, so you know "Now is when I need to inhale that ape so I can wield their hammer."

Originull Wasteland

But what's even more important is how cohesive everything is. Yes, enemies are everywhere. However, in many ways I couldn't help but think this is the most colorful and peaceful apocalypse. The initial area features buildings and structures that wouldn't be out of place in The Last of Us or Tokyo Jungle. I loved leading ducklings around or enjoying a roller coaster at a theme park that made me nostalgic for NieR Automata's. Speaking of which, Originull Wastelands got me thinking about the NieR series too. Every level in every area ties together in a wonderful way. They all simultaneously exist perfectly alongside each other. Know why I found secrets in Kirby and the Forgotten Land? Because this is now one of my favorite "post-apocalyptic" games and I wanted to take in the scenery.

That idea of building up atmosphere extends to Waddle Dee Town. This is the hub that gradually grows as you rescue more captured Waddle Dees. Things start small, with a theater to replay scenes. Eventually, you'll unlock things like the blacksmith, an item shop, a cafe, a place to fish, an arena, a home for Kirby, and capsule machines. The restaurant and arena both serve as minigames, with one involving serving food and the other as a boss rush. It's a charming, colorful respite. It is pleasant enough. Upgrading Copy Abilities aside, I didn't feel as compelled to regularly return. If you need extra Star Coins, fishing or working at the Cafe is fine. But I felt like Tilt-and-Roll Kirby is the most worthwhile activity, both in terms of its challenge level and rewards.

Ring Mouth Mouthful Mode

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is, like most games starring Kirby, thoroughly pleasant. It feels wonderful to play, offering all sorts of rewards for exploring and interacting with its world. I also feel like out of all his adventures, this is the one in which all of the areas fit together best into a cohesive world. It's also quite well-balanced! I do wish some additional series staples showed up and that Waddle Dee Town did more to encourage me to hang around. But it is generally lovely.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is available for the Nintendo Switch.

People Can Vote on the Snow Miku 2023 Design Now

Good Smile Company announced people can now vote in the Snow Miku 2023 Outfit Design Poll. The company opens up voting to allow folks to choose which piece of art will eventually be turned into a Hatsune Miku Nendoroid and figma. As with previous years, six designs.

Each year, there's a different kind of theme to the entries. For 2023, there's a winter sky motif that results in things like balloons, clouds, and wings showing up. Each design shows how Miku and her rabbit mascot Yukine would potentially look. People are allowed to only vote once.

Here's a gallery looking at all six options.
[gallery columns="6" ids="922326,922327,922328,922329,922330,922331" link="file"]

The 2022 Snow Miku figure featured a winter ocean design. Detsu's design, which made Hatsune Miku look like a ship captain, was the winner.

As for Hatsune Miku games, there are currently two relatively new ones available. One is Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage. It's a rhythm game people can find on mobile devices worldwide. The other is Hatsune Miku Jigsaw Puzzle, which is on the Switch eShop in every region.

People can vote in the Snow Miku 2023 Outfit Design Poll until April 11, 2022. When Magical Mirai 10th Anniversary is held, the winning design will be revealed. Magical Mirai 10th Anniversary will be held August 12-14, 2022 in Osaka, September 2-4, 2022 in Tokyo, and February 4-5, 2022 in Sapporo.

Pre-orders Open for Hololive Vtuber Ookami Mio's Nendoroid

Good Smile Company opened pre-orders for the next Hololive Vtuber figure, and it is a Nendoroid of Ookami Mio. She will appear in December 2022 in Japan. After that, she is expected to appear in February 2023 in North America. She'll cost $60.99/¥6,100. Pre-orders are open now. However, she is classified as a "limited production" item. This means her pre-orders could sell out before the planned end date.

Her reveal showed a number of her accessories. She'll have two smiling faceplates, one with her eyes open and another closed, and one that makes her look like she's exasperated and scolding someone. You can pose her so she's laying a ukelele. She comes with a tarot card to hold and fried chicken to "eat." Finally, you can attack an optional sweat drop to her head to adjust her expression.

Here's a closer look at the figure.
[gallery columns="6" ids="922317,922318,922319,922320,922321,922322" link="file"]

People will also be able to get a friend for her. As well as being a part of Hololive Gamers, Mio and Shirakami Fubuki often appear in other projects from the company together. For example they appear in the Hololive Alternative Holonometria stories. They also released a duet called "Wakuwaku Everyday." Ahead of Mio's Nendoroid debut, one showed up for Fubuki. Their Pop Up Parade figure pre-orders also went live at the same time and are expected to appear in Japan in June 2022.

The Ookami Mio Nendoroid will appear in Japan in December 2022 and North America in February 2023, and pre-orders will be open for the Hololive figure until May 11, 2022. However, as it is a limited production item, Good Smile Company could run out before that date.

2 More Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Armor Sets Shared

There are two more Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak armor sets to take in, and these should look a little more familiar. That's because the newest videos show off equipment made with parts from the Blood Orange Bishaten and Shogun Ceanataur. Both monsters appeared in past Monster Hunter games, though with Bishaten it was in a different form.

First, here's the Blood Orange Bishaten Hunter armor sets in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak. Capcom didn't share how the Palamute and Palico equipment will look. While this monster is new to the expansion, the original Bishaten debuted in the base game.

Next is the Shogun Ceanataur. This monster joined the series in Monster Hunter 2 on the PS2. People can see how equipment made from its materials look on Hunters, palamutes, and palicos.

This seems like it will be a regular feature. Earlier in the week, Capcom shared two other Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak armor sets. People could see what the full Garangolm and Lunagaron suits would look like on hunters, Palamutes, and Palicos.

Monster Hunter Rise is available for the Nintendo Switch and PC, and the Sunbreak expansion will arrive on June 30, 2022.

Knights in the Nightmare switch

A remastered Nintendo Switch port of Knights in the Nightmare is coming in early April, and Sting has uploaded a trailer showing new players what's what [Thanks, Famitsu].

The new Knights in the Nightmare trailer delivers the first gameplay footage from the remastered title, showing how it'll look away from its original release format.

Check it out below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXtKU-fliG0

The trailer clearly identifies Knights in the Nightmare as the fourth episode in Sting's "Dept. Heaven" series. Dept. Heaven is a multi-episode meta-saga that contains multiple games developed by Sting's Product Team A. Entries include Riviera: The Promised Land, Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone, and Gungnir, as well as spin-offs like Blaze Union. Sting did not confirm if other Dept. Heaven titles will receive a Switch remaster like Knights in the Nightmare will.

The trailer also shows off the game's mechanics, with the hybridized tactical strategy and bullet shooter play visible. The game appears to take after the PSP edition rather than the original Nintendo DS release. This makes sense, given that the Nintendo Switch has more in common with the PSP in terms of having a single screen with a similar aspect ratio. Also visible are story cutscenes, gameplay of a player controlling their wisp command unit, and a number of flashy special attacks that draw large effects onscreen.

Pre-orders are open for Knights in the Nightmare on Switch in Japan. The game releases there on April 7, 2022. Mobile ports are also in development, though they do not have a release window specified. Overseas localizations have also not yet been announced.

Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi PS5 Will Show Up This Summer

During New Game Plus Expo 2022, Aksys pinned down the PS5 release window for Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi. Experience's first-person dungeon-crawler with turn-based battles will show up on the system in Summer 2022. This fits in with what the company already promised. When it came up before, it had a general 2022 launch window.

This means it will arrive almost a year after the other versions appeared outside Japan. Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi first appeared on the Xbox One in Japan in June 2020. Nintendo Switch and PS4 versions followed in the region in October 2020. Jack Jeanne Heading to Switch in English in 2023

At New Game Plus Expo, Aksys announced it is handling the English release of the Switch otome game Jack Jeanne. It also offered a release window for the game. It will show up outside Japan in 2023. As a reminder, it first debuted in Japan back in March 2021.

We did already know that an English version of Jack Jeanne was in the works, thanks to Broccoli confirming the Switch release. It first ended up teased back in 2019. Then in the middle of March 2022, English and Traditional Chinese localizations were confirmed. However, no release window was offered and it was unknown which company would be handling the localization and publishing duties.

Jack Jeanne is both a Switch otome game and rhythm game. This is because the heroine, Kisa Tachibana, is attempting to pursue the dream of becoming an actor and attending the school her brother did. Except he went to an all-boys school. She does still have a chance to go. However, she must hide that she is a woman and get the leading part in the final play. Along the way, she'll potentially fall in love with her fellow students and build up her stats to earn the part. Also, as a reminder, Tokyo Ghoul series creator Sui Ishida is behind the game.

Here's the English trailer for the otome game.

Jack Jeanne is available on the Nintendo Switch in Japan and will appear in English worldwide in 2023.

A new Fullmetal Alchemist Ed and Al figure is on the way, and it is both elaborate and expensive. Good Smile Company revealed a $2,199.99/¥220,000 figure of the Elric brothers. It is a non-scale figure based on their Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood appearances. It is expected to appear first in Japan in July 2023. Then in September 2023, it will show up in North America. Pre-orders are open, but this is also a situation in which they are limited and could run out.

The figure is designed to show both Ed and Al in the middle of a fight. Electricity surrounds them, there's dust on the ground, and both characters are in an active pose. Ed is using the pillar Al is holding to prepare to leap and attack.

In-game, this group of characters are members of a MANTIS project who have increased powers due to getting Honkai genes. The goal was that the group would defeat Honkai with their power. The new update did things like reveal everyone's identity and share their official portraits.

First, here are all of the Thirteen Flame-Chasers characters in Honkai Impact 3rd. They're listed by their rank. As a note, their position doesn't necessarily suggest they are more or less powerful. Rather, each person's rank is based on a number of factors.

  1. Kevin
  2. Elysia
  3. Aponia
  4. Eden
  5. Vill-V
  6. Kalpas
  7. Su
  8. Sakura
  9. Kosma
  10. Mobius
  11. Griseo
  12. Hua
  13. Pardofelis

Next, here are the portraits showing each one of them.
[gallery columns="7" ids="922266,922267,922268,922269,922270,922271,922272,922273,922274,922275,922276,922277,922278" link="file"]

Some of these Thirteen Flame-Chasers characters are already available and playable in Honkai Impact 3rd. Hua has a number of battlesuits and is a pretty prominent character. Elysia and Mobius appeared already too. Also, Pardofelis will join the game after the 5.6 update.

Honkai Impact 3rd is available for the PC and mobile devices. Its 5.6 update will add Pardofelis' Reverist Calico battlesuit to the game and is expected to appear in April 2022.

Hyper Light Breaker FeatureThe first game in the Hyper Light franchise, Hyper Light Drifter, had a generally positive reception when it released back in 2016. So much so that the game released on just about every gaming platform possible, including the Nintendo Switch and iOS. The success of the first entry was enough for Heart Machine to continue building its world and today, it announced Hyper Light Breaker. The most noticeable change with Hyper Light Breaker from Hyper Light Drifter is its visual style. The first game leaned into the 16-bit, isometric action RPG type of world and level design. But it still managed to feel like a robust 3D release despite it having a pixelated retro aesthetic. Hyper Light Breaker, on the other hand, is moving to a fully immersive 3D world and promises exploration.   The description of Hyper Light Breaker points to an open world. Promises for this new world, called the Overgrowth, include "massive, open biomes" along with "deep labyrinths" where you...

Microsoft Xbox PC Game Pass appMicrosoft is reportedly working to add a new subscription option for its ever-growing Xbox Game Pass service — a Family Plan membership. The implementation of such an option would allow groups of users to pay one lump sum that would then make the service cheaper for all involved. According to a new report from Windows Central, not only is Microsoft looking into this as a potential expansion to the service, but it's allegedly putting it all into place. The report indicates that it has heard from "trusted sources familiar with Microsoft's efforts" that Microsoft is indeed working on family plan implementation for Xbox Game Pass, not as something down the line, but as a feature that will be available within the year.   All in the family As far as specifics go, Windows Central was not told anything regarding pricing or how Microsoft will implement the Family Plan. As such, we don't know if the Family Plan will be two separate options for Xbox Game P...

Coromon PC releaseThe monster-hunting RPG Coromon had its PC release today. While the concept of catching monsters in a colorful and varied landscape may seem simple, it's actually fairly complex. But that doesn't mean we haven't seen a lot of games try and capture the essence of Pokémon. In fact, Coromon, the newest game in this sub-genre of JRPGs, looks to be nailing some of these aspects. Developed by indie studio TRAGsoft and published by Freedom Games, Coromon isn't shy about its retro roots. It proudly shows off its 16 bit visuals in all their glory, with each part of the game bursting with color. This kind of aesthetic should be more than recognizable if you've played some of the classic Pokémon titles. Of course, the visuals here have a modern edge, which allows Coromon to have far more detail than some of the older games.   Not just a Pokémon clone Coromon isn't the only monster collection game to  release in the last couple of years, with 2020'...
