Kotaku Wednesday, March 30, 2022 8:20 PM Anyone still playing Marvel's Avengers on PS5 over the last few days may have run into an issue where the game crashes. If that's you, as of today there is a "workaround". It's just a rather drastic one. |

Kotaku Wednesday, March 30, 2022 5:50 PM FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki's love for the late Kentaro Miura's manga and anime series Berserk is the worst kept secret in the gaming industry. While he avoids explicitly discussing the connections between his games and Berserk, it's clear that every Miyazaki-helmed project since 2009's Demon's Souls has… |
PCGamesN Wednesday, March 30, 2022 7:07 PM Dead Cells: Break the Bank has arrived, bringing yet another round of new content to the modern classic roguelike game. Despite the rather greedy theme, however, this update is completely free, bringing a new biome, as well as new enemies, weapons, and mutations. Plus, the developers at Motion Twin have confirmed that another full year of DLC and updates is coming. This update focuses on The Bank, a new biome that will show up randomly during your run (as long as you've beaten the Hand of the King) as a replacement for one of the stages you'd normally face. It'll have a bunch of mobs equivalent to the replaced biomes, plus new monsters that'll steal your money, grow by collecting money, or drop more money than their normal counterparts. The new weapons and mutations keep that money theme going. The Gold Digger will give gold on each hit, and Midas' Blood will give you gold whenever you lose health. You can see details on all the new stuff over in the official announcement. |
PCGamesN Wednesday, March 30, 2022 6:53 PM I did not know I needed an Elden Ring fighting game, but thanks to the wonderful world of Tekken mods, I've both recognised this need in myself, and have immediately gotten it satisfied. The Ultimate Elden Ring Modpack replaces eight Tekken 7 characters with equivalent Elden Ring characters, so you can finally have that Alexander versus Melina fight you've been dreaming of. Ultraboy's mod is largely cosmetic, replacing a selection of alternate character appearances with Elden Ring equivalents. Lidia becomes Melina, Kunimitsu becomes Malenia, Heihachi becomes the lobster, Gigas becomes Alexander, Lee becomes the Prisoner starting class, Marduk becomes Radahn, Kazuya dons the Raging Wolf armour set, and Kazumi becomes Ranni. And, yes, Kazumi's tiger transforms into the spectral steed Torrent. You can grab the mod for yourself over on Tekken Mods, or if you just want to enjoy the vibes, you can take a look at the fantastic trailer below. Now I'm longing for this to become Super Souls Bros - get the Maiden in Black and Father Gascoigne in there for good measure. PCGamesN Wednesday, March 30, 2022 5:36 PM League of Legends is crashing into Fallout, as the voice of Jinx from Netflix's Arcane is set to join the Fallout TV show cast. Ella Purnell will be part of Amazon Prime Video's series, simply titled Fallout, and while her character has not yet officially been confirmed, she's expected to take the lead role in the story. "Details of Purnell's character are not being revealed," according to Deadline's report. "She is believed to be playing the lead, referred to as Jean, a young woman with a can-do attitude who may be hiding a dangerous secret." Little of the show's plot has been revealed - all we know is that it'll follow the game's alt-history timeline, set in a wasteland after a global nuclear war wipes out society. Aside from voicing Jinx in Arcane, Purnell is best known for her role in the Showtime horror series, Yellowjackets, as well as Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead. She joins Walton Goggins in the cast, who's expected to be playing the part of a ghoul, Fallout's irradiated zombie faction. |
PCGamesN Wednesday, March 30, 2022 4:39 PM As we grapple with the environmental impact of our favourite hobbies, we turn our attention to the increasingly important topic of sustainability. Ahead of its appearance at W.A.S.D., the consumer videogame show that'll let you get your hands on new and upcoming games, Auroch Digital shares the efforts it's making to fight climate change, why it's "getting scary, fast", and how gamers like you can get involved. Auroch Digital has the same organisational philosophies as the Sumo Group it's part of, creating a culture around going green. Founded in 2010 and known for games like NarcoGuerra, Dark Future: Blood Red States, and Mars Horizon, studio director Tomas Rawlings and junior business development associate Jess Rutland say that "we all need to care about climate change if we want a future that we can make games in," especially considering "it's the main existential issue of our age." Temperatures are rising and look to have set a new world record of +38.5°C (+69.3°F) in Antarctica this month. While this spells an uncertain future, shattering ice shelves and melting caps will cause sea levels to rise, beaches to erode, and increased risks of flooding. PCGamesN Wednesday, March 30, 2022 4:07 PM March weather here in the northeastern US is on the crummy side, which means it's a terrific time to head back out into the sunny southern climes of Forza Horizon 5. The bucolic driving game's sixth series has arrived, meaning there are all new activities and souped-up supercars to check out, as well as a nice batch of performance improvements and bug fixes. Series Six introduces some new modes to Forza Horizon 5. There's Custom Racing available in Horizon Open now, which means you can group up with fellow racers who share your preferences - you can pick out your preferred PI class, race type, or what have you, and hop into a race with folks who've picked the same parameters. On the topic of Horizon Open, it now has its own standalone progression system. Anything you do in Open Racing, Playground Games, Custom Racing, and Drifting will count towards your experience total for Horizon Open. The Eliminator will not - that's been moved to the Online tab in Forza Horizon 5's pause menu. RELATED LINKS: Forza Horizon 5 review, The best racing games on PC, The best open-world games on PC |

PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 30, 2022 7:30 PM The time has finally come for discrete Intel GPUs to enter the market. Today, Intel revealed the full details for its Arc laptop GPU lineup. We've been waiting on this information for quite a while now. In fact, towards the end of February, we covered some early information regarding these GPUs. And now, we can take an even closer look at what Team Blue has cooked up. These GPUs come in three tiers of performance, consisting of the Arc 3, Arc 5, and Arc 7. As you've likely noted, these are the same naming conventions used for Intel's processors. Starting things off with the low-end, the Arc 3 A350M GPUs use a cut-down version of the ACM-G11 design. The A350M features six Xe cores, six Ray Tracing units, a clock of 1,150MHz, and 4GB of GDDR6 memory. The A370M features the full version of ACM-G11, up to eight Xe cores, eight Ray Tracing units, a clock of 1,550MHz, and 4GB of GDDR6 memory. As for the Arc 5 and Arc 7 models, these all derive from ACM-G10. The Arc 5... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 30, 2022 7:15 PM Loop Hero absolutely exploded when it was released a year ago, quickly racking up a ton of sales and gaining a large fan following. However, due to sanctions placed on Russia for its attack on Ukraine, the reality surrounding the game isn't as clear-cut as it was. The game was developed by the Russian indie dev Four Quarters and, due to the aforementioned sanctions, credit cards can't always be used to purchase the game. The developer can't get any of the payouts that do go through, as discovered by PCMag. However, Four Quarters is responding to this in a relatively surprising way — by telling people to pirate Loop Hero instead. Back in February, Four Quarters made its position clear, saying that it's against war. Customers have been asking what the best way to purchase the game is so that the dev is able to get paid for their work. As spotted by Vice, Four Quarters responded with a blog post on the Russian social media site VK. Not only does the post re... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 30, 2022 7:00 PM Death Stranding: Director's Cut launched on the PlayStation 5 about six months ago. Let's be real, though. This is less of a true director's cut and more of a "we added some extra stuff to the next-gen version." At first, it wasn't particularly clear if we'd even be getting the game on PC and, if we did get it, what that would mean for people who already owned the original version of the game. While you can buy Death Stranding: Director's Cut directly, previous owners can purchase an affordable upgrade on PC that will allow them to get this version with minimal effort. However you get your copy, you'll notice that Death Stranding: Director's Cut is its own game on Steam. It isn't just a DLC for the original, but requires a totally separate install. Pretty surprising, but that's what we're working with here. As most people who were interested in the game probably already bought it, I'd imagine that the ... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 30, 2022 6:30 PM Sony revealed this week that it's revamping the PlayStation Plus service. There will be three separate tiers, with the streaming service PlayStation Now getting rolled in. But it'll cost a premium price. It's available in the new highest-tier option, which will grant customers the ability to not only play titles natively on their PlayStation console, but also access to certain games via cloud streaming on PC. Starting in June, Sony is offering PlayStation Plus subscriptions in three tiers: PlayStation Plus Essential (the same as the existing service) PlayStation Plus Extra – the same benefits as Essential, but with "up to 400 of the most enjoyable PS4 and PS5 games" downloadable. PlayStation Plus Premium – the same benefits as Essential and Extra, but with additional cloud-streaming access for PS1, PS2, PSP and PS4 games across PS4/PS5 consoles and PC. The Premium tier is, as mentioned, the most expensive option. It's set at a monthly ... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Wednesday, March 30, 2022 5:15 PM You know what game from my childhood I miss dearly? Well, I'm actually thinking of two games: Marvel Ultimate Alliance and its sequel. I played both ARPGs for many hours, and I'm still annoyed by the shitty PC ports (that eventually got pulled anyway). I've been waiting for a similar game to scratch that old itch, and Marvel Heroes didn't quite cut it. But I feel hopeful for Superfuse, a top-down, super hero-themed ARPG that's heading to PC in 2023. Superfuse seems to carry the super hero ARPG spirit of those Marvel classics. The art style is awash with bold colors and thick, black lines around characters and objects. Story moments appear to be told through comic panels, and the voice work is rich in campy dialogue. But this doesn't seem to be your grandad's super hero-themed game. Superfuse looks like it's channeling less from the Marvel or DC universes and more from The Boys. Enemies turn to blood fountains underneath your mighty... |
