Kotaku Tuesday, February 21, 2023 3:25 PM There are many Call of Duty games. Some might say too many! I wouldn't though, because while the franchise has become popular to hate, I think it can still offer up some exciting multiplayer action and big, fun single-player campaigns. Kotaku Tuesday, February 21, 2023 1:55 PM Every episode of HBO's The Last of Us has had something emotionally devastating (some good and bad) to sit with, but episode seven, "Left Behind," is probably going to be one of the hardest to deal with in the show's nine-episode run. PCGamesN Tuesday, February 21, 2023 3:32 PM This Genshin Impact leak suggests that HoYoverse will be adding a third character banner phase to its anime game. This would raise the number of available five-star banner characters to nine per update, providing more options to pull for in each version. PCGamesN Tuesday, February 21, 2023 2:38 PM Want to know what this week's Destiny 2 Nightfall weapon is? Each week you've got a chance at a different weapon for completing Nightfall Strikes, and ever since Season of the Lost, fan-favourite legacy weapons from the original Destiny has been added to the rotation. New seasons often introduce new weapons into the rotation, so it's more important than ever to know in advance the Nightfall weapon schedule. Nightfall: The Ordeal is a playlist available in the Vanguard menu, alongside the basic Strike playlist in the free PC game. Each week, a different Strike is chosen as the Nightfall, and offered in five escalating difficulties, with harder enemies, challenging modifiers, and enemy power levels cranking up. The coveted Nightfall weapons have a chance to drop from any Nightfall Strike difficulty, but it's far more likely at higher levels, which is something you'll want to maximise your chances for with the Destiny 2 Lightfall release date on the horizon. Your best bet for farming each week's Nightfall weapon is to set the Strike to Master difficulty, or to Grandmaster difficulty when such strikes are available if you have a fireteam up to the task. Note that there's no automatic matchmaking above Hero difficulty, however, so you'll need to get a squad together. MORE FROM PCGAMESN: Destiny 2 classes, Destiny 2 exotics, Destiny 2 builds |

As one of the side quests requiring you to enter a secret dungeon, this is a gauntlet of puzzles and fights against nefarious villains, culminating in a cryptic puzzle that has you galavanting across the Scottish Highlands for your prize. In a very similar fashion to the Hogwarts Legacy Solved by the Bell side quest, you need to grab a map to reveal a cryptic puzzle. You must search across the Hogwarts Legacy map to get it, but thankfully we have its location for you. To start this RPG game's side quest, you need to reach level 24, complete the main story quest 'The Helm of Urtkot', and grab as many Demiguise Statues as you need to advance your ability to unlock doors and chests with Alohomora level three. You also need Flipendo, but more on that later. Then, from the Manor Cape Floo Flame, head to the manor on top of the hill and descend the stairs inside its ruins. This is not to be confused with the puzzles you will complete during the Hall of Herodiana side quest but work in the same way. Finishing these challenges requires you to master manipulating blocks in order to reach treasure chests filled with valuable gear. Since these buttons only appear once you have finished the Hogwarts Legacy Hall of Herodiana side quest, it's required that you finish that quest first to give you an idea of how to manoeuvre the blocks across the room, how using reset blocks helps solve the puzzles, and how combining blocks works. Your first job will be to find each of the two rooms in the open-world game, but once you do, you need to work your way through these rooms with the help of two vital Hogwarts Legacy spells: Accio and Depulso. What is not endless, however, is the number of dino games that successfully realise that fantasy. Let's be honest: until recently, fans of dinosaurs and big guns haven't exactly walked the primrose path. It's been a long hard road, marked by velociraptors that look like lumpy dogs, rifles that feel as satisfying as lobbing a bullet by hand, and jeeps that seem to magnetically roll themselves into a nearby ditch, no matter what keys you press. PCGamesN Tuesday, February 21, 2023 12:37 PM The Hogwarts Legacy Hall of Herodiana side quest introduces the concept of some rather cruel block-moving puzzles, more of which can be found throughout the school. Starting this quest requires you to know the Depulso spell. Once you do, you should be able to speak to Sophronia Franklin, a Ravenclaw student obsessed with Herodiana, and who wishes to see her fabled robes. Unfortunately, she is a third-year student, and Depulso is a fifth-year spell, so she requires your help to find them. After promising to retrieve the robes from the Hall of Herodiana for her, you'll have a waypoint to the bottom of the Defence Against the Dark Arts tower. You can use the Hogwarts Legacy map and Floo Flames to reach your destination if you get lost. You'll need to equip two Hogwarts Legacy spells to complete these puzzles: Accio and Depulso. At the bottom is a wall with a conspicuous brass button engraved in the middle. Casting Depulso will shift the wall, revealing the entrance to the Hogwarts Legacy Hall of Herodiana. This is also how you unveil Hogwarts Legacy Depulso Puzzle Room 1 and 2, which this quest acts as a tutorial for. PCGamesN Tuesday, February 21, 2023 11:25 AM Looking for a breakdown of all the Destiny 2 classes? The class system behind Bungie's hit looter shooter has changed a lot in the many years since Destiny 2 players first took on the Red Legion in the fight for the Light. Though Destiny 2 still includes its Warlock, Titan, and Hunter classes - the same ones that first appeared in the original Destiny game - the once-simple Arc, Solar, and Void elemental subclasses have grown to include Aspects, and Fragments. The game also now includes the Darkness-based subclasses Stasis and Strand. Each of the Destiny 2 classes has a unique kit that leverages one of the game's four elements to allow players to develop builds that suit their specific style of play. The team at Bungie is constantly iterating to keep the game fun and fresh in what many say is one of the best free PC games out there. Microsoft have announced the next four games hitting the service before March 3rd, alongside Atomic Heart which releases today. I was interested in the steely Soviet shooter until I read James' review and saw that the protagonist yells "Crispy critters," more than once - I think I'll skip. Here are the next batch of Game Pass titles:
This is my first time hearing of Merge & Blade, not to be confused with Mount & Blade which is also on Game Pass. Merge & Blade is a hybrid between puzzle games and auto-battlers. Rounds will start with a Tetris-like mini-game, but instead of shapes, you're guiding different unit types and merging them together. You then use your completed party to raid castles and kill monsters. Mixing - or merging - Tetris into a new genre is a recipe for success, so I'll definitely be downloading this one. |

Siliconera Tuesday, February 21, 2023 2:00 PM Nintendo revealed a bunch of new details on upcoming Splatoon 3 content. This means new additions, as well as a change to how you'll play with others. The latest updates included details on a new stage and new weapons. There's also the addition of Pools for Splatoon 3 multiplayer, which let you play together without being Switch friends.. First up, here's the new stage. While it's been glimpsed in previous trailers and reveals, the stage has now been confirmed to be called Um'ami Ruins. It is a dig site with an Ancient Egyptian feel. Nintendo released a fly-by of its various features. https://twitter.com/SplatoonNA/status/1628031981257629696 It's not the only Splatoon announcement, however, as two new weapons were revealed. Both are new variations on previous weapons. The L-3 Nozzlenose D is a version of the L-3 Nozzlenose, which replaces the Curling Bomb sub-weapon and Crab Tank special with Burst Bombs and Ultra Stamp, respectively. Similarly, the Rapid Blaster Deco is a variant of the Rapid Blaster that replaces Ink Mine and Triple Inkstrike with Torpedo and Ink Jet. Finally, a new feature will be added that will allow Splatoon 3 players to join matches with player Pools, allowing for more custom multiplayer with specific people. This will be done via unique letter and character combinations, with Nintendo's description sounding similar to the titles players can apply to their profiles. https://twitter.com/SplatoonNA/status/1628032144588042240 All these new additions will be part of the Fresh Season, which begins on March 1, 2023. Splatoon 3 is out now on Nintendo Switch. The post New Splatoon 3 Multiplayer Pools, Stage, and Weapons Revealed appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Tuesday, February 21, 2023 1:30 PM HoYoVerse added a new video to its Gourmet Tour line. This is a series of Genshin Impact videos showing its food recipes being made in the real world, and now Chili-Mince Cornbread Buns are a part of it. The four minute video features an animated introduction and ending featuring the Wangshu Inn and suggesting Smiley Yanxiao is taking part in the dish's creation. After the animated opening, the third "Gourmet Tour: Liyue's Cuisine Collection" shows the dish being prepared in the real world. The cornbread bun dough is made first. Then, a little clay Guoba, Xiangling's companion, is made. While the buns cook, long thing pepper, pickled pepper, meat, and other ingredients are put together with fried rice to create the chili-mince. In Genshin Impact, players could get the Chili-Mince Cornbread Buns food recipe during Moonlight Merriment in September 2021. It was one of the rewards for helping Xiangling during the cooking competition with Smiley Yanxiao. To make it, you need to bring two cabbages, two Jueyun Chilis, three bags of flour, and four cuts of raw meet to a cooking station in-game. After you eat it, it will increase the entire party's defense and shield strength for a limited time. Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. One of the last Gourmet Tour videos involved Bamboo Shoot Soup. The post Genshin Impact Chili-Mince Cornbread Buns Gourmet Tour Food Video Shared appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Tuesday, February 21, 2023 1:00 PM Bandai Namco released a new trailer for Tekken 8 showing off an extended look at Kazuya Mishima's gameplay. It's the latest look at footage we've seen from the latest entry in the company's long-running fighting game franchise, following a reveal at Sony's State of Play in 2022 and an extended trailer at the Game Awards 2022. The trailer shows off a bunch of his moves, including his Rage Art and an extensive amount of him fighting in his devil form. However, no details have been provided on how this form will factor into his move set. It also showed off quite a bit more of a new city stage, previously glimpsed at The Game Awards. It is full of neon signs and screens that show off its new Unreal Engine powered visuals. https://twitter.com/TEKKEN/status/1627951400620806144 Although this is the first time we've seen an in-depth look on his moves, Kazuya was one of the first characters revealed alongside Tekken 8 itself. He showed up along with the return of Jin Kazama, King, Lars Alexandersson, Marshall Law and Paul Phoenix. As a reminder, the past announcements also included a new Jack model, Jun Kazama's first canonical appearance in the series since Tekken 2, and the recent reveal of Nina Williams. Tekken 8 will be released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam, although no release date has been confirmed yet. Siliconera Tuesday, February 21, 2023 12:30 PM Rovio Classics: Angry Bird, the original game that inspired the series and its spin-offs, will be delisted on Android devices. Rovio announced it will be removed from Google Play on February 23, 2023. If somebody already owns the game, they will still have access to it. On the App Store, the game will become Red's First Flight. Rovio didn't provide an exact reason as to why Rovio Classics: Angry Birds is being removed. In the official statement, it cited the "impact" on other games. Twitter user BeforeThatCold also shared a statement from Rovio Senior Brand and Community Development Manager Shawn "Buck" Buckelew from Discord that clarified that and said "it is negatively impacting our other games."
