Spike Chunsoft announced that there will be another way to pick up and play Shuten Order, as the Switch and Switch 2 physical copies are on the way to retail stores. These will show up in Spring 2026, though there's no exact release date yet. Preliminary box art for both versions are already available for the adventure game.
The announcement makes it look like the Switch 2 physical version of the game might involve the full game being on the cartridge. The box art shared by Spike Chunsoft doesn't feature the telltale game-key card notice that appeared on other recent releases like Assassin's Creed Shadows or Persona 3 Reload.
This comes a week after the Switch 2 Shuten Order version appeared. On November 27, 2025, Spike Chunsoft and Exnoa confirmed the update. If you have that version, you can use the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls to play sometimes and the FPS goes between 60-120. An upgrade pack is also available for the Switch version for $2.49.
The other major Tookyo Games title to appear in 2025 is The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. Physical Switch copies of that already appeared, thanks to Marvelous and XSEED. There was even a limited edition release with acrylic standee, art book, and soundtrack.
Shuten Order is available on the Switch, Switch 2, and PC, and physical copies of the game will appear worldwide in Spring 2026.

Bandai Namco announced another Bleach figure in its Banpresto Maximatic line of Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez. The Sexta Espada will appear as a prize figure in Japanese arcades starting in January 2026. It's already confirmed we'll also see it worldwide as well. The official Amazon storefront in the United States already has a product page that notes it will launch on April 11, 2026 and cost $35.
This is a static figure of Grimmjow. Like all Maximatic entries, it's designed to have a more active type of pose. As such, he's reaching out to the person viewing him, with his Zanpakuto Pantera at his side. It stands at almost 10 inches tall (25cm).
Here's how the Maximatic Bleach Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez figure looks:
In other news, the most recent Bleach video game's DLC wrapped up in December 2025. The last character to appear in the season pass was Yhwach, from Thousand Year Blood War. Grimmjow is part of the main cast.
Bandai Namco will release the Maximatic Bleach Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez figure in January 2026 in Japan and on April 11, 2026 worldwide. The Bleach anime, including Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, are streaming on on Disney+ and Hulu. Viz Media handles the manga series outside of Japan.

Good Smile Company announced an array of new chibi version Cinnamoroll x Hatsune Miku figures. There's a blind box collection with five types that is available for ¥2,400 (~$15) per box or ¥12,000/$84.99 full set. There's also a larger version of one of the designs from that set available for ¥4,500/$30.99. These will show up in Japan in July 2026, then worldwide in Q4 2026. They all have an appearance similar to the Nendoroid of the duo that debuted in 2024.
In the case of the blind box figures, there are five possible types. Each one feature a Miku that stands at just under three inches tall (70mm), with a tinier Cinnamoroll next to her. They depict the two together in various poses, such as flying alongside together, eating pastries, and singing. The larger figure is closer to four inches tall at 93mm and is based on the smaller one that features both characters with their twintail pigtails/ears tied up by matching blue bows.
Here are the photos showing all of them off. The last one shows the full set of five blind box figures all together.
In addition to these figures and the Nendoroid, more realistic scale figures appeared.
The Cinnamoroll x Hatsune Miku chibi blind boxes and standalone figures will show up in Japan in July 2026 and the US in Q4 2026. Pre-orders close on January 14, 2026.

Back when Square Enix announced the FFVII Ever Crisis NieR: Automata crossover it showed Tifa 2B and Yuffie 10H outfits right away, but only teased a Cloud 9S costume in a wallpaper. Now a new banner is live that confirms we can get his item and weapon until January 7, 2025.
The Cloud costume based on the 9S outfit in NieR: Automata is called Scanner Ensemble. That has the C Ability Ultra Gyral Slash that deals earth damage to one enemy and increases that elemental damage, and its R Abilities are Boost ATK (All Allies) and Scanner Goggles that boosts earth ability damage. He also gets a sword called Cruel Successor, which has the Gyral Slash C Ability and Boost PATK and Boost Earth Pot R Abilities. That weapon only inspired by the other game and doesn't directly resemble any of the large swords from that game. That banner includes the Aerith Ultimate Weapon Abraxas as well.
It isn't just a collection of costumes and weapons for Cloud, Tifa, and Yuffie based on 9S, 2B, and 10H in FFVII Ever Crisis right now, as there's also the full NieR: Automata YoRHa No.2 Type B Intercept – Encounter in the City Ruins event. That includes a boss fight against 2B and Pod 042 based on her moveset from the original game.
FFVII Ever Crisis is available for the PC and mobile devices, and the NieR: Automata event runs between November 27, 2025 and January 7, 2026. NieR: Automata is available for the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and the anime based on it is streaming on Crunchyroll.

We've all got debts to pay, but some of them are so bad that they can inspire a whole new video game.
Samson: A Tyndalston Story is the first title from Liquid Swords, which is the new studio from former Avalanche Studios (Just Cause) founder, Christofer Sundberg, and it just debuted during the PC Gaming: Most Wanted show this afternoon.
In Samson, players take on the role of Samson McCray, who Liquid Swords described as "a man fighting to stay ahead of a crushing debt that tightens by the hour," in a game that's "built around debt, consequences, and survival in one of the most unforgiving cities imaginable."
"We built Samson to strike fast and leave a mark," Sundberg said in a press release. "It's a raw, physical story with systems that push back at every turn. This is the start of what Liquid Swords stands for, and the team has delivered something with real teeth. We've come through a heavy cycle of change and sharpened every part of how we work. The entire industry is navigating pressure right now. Samson is our answer to that reality, a focused project built with intent, not excess. This is how we move forward."
Sporting "grounded and punishing" combat, Samson has a unique system where "each job burns a limited pool of Action Points and every decision shifts how the city treats you," with the dev warning that "there are no do-overs."
The action-packed trailer and screenshots tease lots of vehicle gameplay along with some tough hand-to-hand combat, which sounds promising from a studio that's comprised of devs who have worked on titles like Just Cause, Mad Max, PayDay, and Battlefield.
Samson: A Tyndalston Story is due to launch on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in early 2026, which is already filling up with several notable titles. It's available to wishlist on Steam now.

December means recaps galore, whether it's for Spotify, YouTube, and now, even Discord.
Discord Checkpoint has arrived for the first time in 2025, bringing about a way for users of the app to reflect on the year that was and all of your data that the company has been logging since the calendar turned to 2025.
Here's how to view your Discord Checkpoint for 2025.
Table of contents
What is Discord Checkpoint?
Discord Checkpoint is the "Spotify Wrapped" recap for the chat app. If you've had data collection enabled on the app, Discord has been logging things like messages sent, how many hours you've spent in voice chat, and more.
I've had the "Use data to personalize my Discord experience" setting (Settings -> Data & Privacy) turned off, for example, so I am unable to view my Checkpoint as the app hasn't been able to track what I've been doing.
This is what my screen looks like, meaning I cannot access it whatsoever since I had data collection disabled. Even re-enabling this setting will not make your Checkpoint retroactively viewable. Oh well! If you want your Checkpoint for 2026, enable that setting.
How to view Discord Checkpoint
Discord Checkpoint is viewable by clicking the flag icon on the top right of the Discord window on desktop, to the left of your Inbox button. It should also pop up when you open the app on desktop and show the image below:
When the feature first went live, Discord Checkpoint was not immediately available on mobile or console. When it is available on mobile (eventually), click on your profile icon and then tap the Checkpoint banner that pops up. It's currently having issues, so it may take some time for it to appear on your mobile app.
You can try to close and re-open the app on mobile to get it to appear, otherwise, you may just have to wait, as Discord has said it is "temporarily disabled" for the time being on the day of its launch, Dec. 4.
For more info on Discord Checkpoint, check out the announcement from Discord.

Call of Duty: Warzone's meta shifts with each update, offering new guns to pull out of your collection or old ones to pop back into your loadouts.
Whether you're firing at long range or dealing with enemies inside one of Verdansk's many buildings up close, your loadout has to stay fresh with what the top attachments are for when it comes time to maximize your chances of surviving the battle royale.
Keep up to date with what to use in your loadouts in Warzone's Verdansk with a whole bunch of new Black Ops 7 guns to play with.
Table of contents
Warzone meta loadouts - BO7 season 1
Verdansk has been invaded by BO7 operators and weapons, and the new meta is rapidly being decided with each passing gunfight. Here are our picks for the best guns to use so far in season one of BO7.
Long range
XR-3 Ion
A weird one at first thought, but players are quickly finding out that this burst-fire sniper rifle is dominant at just about all ranges in the early days of season one.
M15 Mod 0
BO7's resident laser beam AR is still a good option for mid-range and long-range fights in Warzone.
Maddox RFB
One of the new guns in BO7 season one is a favorite so far.
Close range
Razor 9mm
With a lightning-quick time-to-kill up close, the Razor is a top pick early on for fights up close. It quickly fails at mid range, but if you stay close, this is a beast.
Carbon 57
The same above can be said for the Carbon 57, which has some brutal recoil. Keep your engagements within 10-15 meters, and this is a solid pick.
Kogot-7
One of season one's new guns, the Kogot-7 has a quick TTK.
Dravec 45
Old reliable in BO7 multiplayer, the Dravec is also a good choice.
This article will be updated with more information over time.

The LGM-1 Wonder Weapon has arrived in Black Ops 7 as part of the Astra Malorum map, and finding it will make your life a lot easier on the new map.
There are a bunch of activities that you'll need to complete to get the LGM-1 added to your inventory. This guide will list all the steps to help you figure it out. I will be adding more screenshots and details (this guide will still have all the required information needed to unlock the weapon).
How to obtain the LGM-1 in Black Ops 7 Zombies Astra Malorum
The process of obtaining the weapon begins by completing a bunch of easier tasks. These tasks will provide you with essential quest items necessary for getting the LGM-1.
Once you have found all the items, bring an O.S.C.A.R. to the Museum and interact with the Rocket. This will start a countdown. Make O.S.C.A.R. stand behind the Rocket's thrusters, and this will instantly kill it. Do this before the countdown expires.
Next, lure another O.S.C.A.R. to the Luminarium. Interact with the trap present at this location, and add the car battery to it. This will allow you to activate the trap and kill the O.S.C.A.R.
The next step involves bringing yet another O.S.C.A.R. to the Observatory. You'll find several steaming valves; shoot those. There are several vaves, all present at the PAP room. There's apparently a time limit, and you'll have to shoot all of them before it expires. If you get the job done correctly, you'll notice that the telescope is moving.
Interact with the big piano, and it will take you to a screen for you to focus the telescope. Check out the sun (bright yellow star). Once you find the O.S.C.A.R. on the platform, activate the Sun laser trap. You'll need to time this carefully. Once the O.S.C.A.R. is dead, he will drop the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon.
The new Wonder Weapon isn't the only secret to decode, since you can find three Mister Peeks headphones spread all over the map.

The Renegades expansion gave Destiny 2 players a lightsaber, the Praxic Blade. Like the real deal, you can change its colors in-game through unlockable Dark Matter Crystals (or Kyber Crystals, in Star Wars terms). They're mostly unlockable through gameplay, though of course some are in the Eververse Store.
Your new weapon of choice is complete with deflections, customizable colors, and even a reference to an infamous meme with Obi-Wan and Anakin, bringing quite a lot of Star Wars to the Bungie franchise.
Odds are you're gunning for specific colors, so we've compiled a list of each possible Dark Matter crystal as of Renegades' launch, as well as tips to unlock each of them. We'll update this list once more colors pop up.
All Dark Matter Crystals for your Praxic Blade in Destiny 2 Renegades
In addition to the Praxic Blade crystals, guardians may also modify the blade's stats by ranking up with a Syndicate. Each faction has access to one type of mod, though this list focuses only on the cosmetics.
Easiest Dark Matter Crystals to obtain in Renegades in Destiny 2
All available crystals so far have a layer of RNG tied to them, outside of the ones in the Eververse Store. We don't know how the black crystal will behave, however.
If you're already thinking of invading other guardians to grab the Red Crystal, keep its RNG in mind. You may get lucky and get it on your first try, or you may burn through your Deathmarks to no avail. There's a daily contract for invasions, so don't use up all your Deathmarks at once.
The Yellow Crystal might also not be that bad to obtain when it comes to RNG, at least relative to the others. That said, it's extremely time-consuming to actually fulfill its criteria. You can reportedly rerun Exotic orders, even if it ends up costing a lot of Glimmer to do so. Once you've obtained the Praxic Professional order, you can move on to the hard part—actually getting it done. The Thrall room in The Whisper seems like a good choice, though finding the perfect spot is a matter of trial and error.
Going by the red Dark Matter Crystal, the rest of the customization options from the Lawless Frontier are bound to drop at the end of the mission, though it's possible they also drop if you open caches that require a Keycard. Opening those gave us a copy of Deimosuffusion, the Renegades Warlock Exotic, after we unlocked it by finishing the Legendary campaign.

Gaming PR companies are getting good at grabbing my attention, because my eyes were immediately drawn to this outrageous description in my inbox this morning: "Fire Emblem meets PaRappa the Rapper." What in the...?
The newest title from Mopeful Games and indie publisher Team17, Wardrum, is worth checking out for that description by itself. And I'm glad I clicked, because it looks like it may actually be up my alley, and the uniqueness of it will likely garner attention from gamers everywhere, too.
The idea of these two kinds of games coming together sounded so silly, but as you can see in the gameplay trailer above, it sure seems to work. And it's a roguelite, which means replayability will be ready to go on day one.
"Wardrum sees you set in a harsh and unforgiving fantasy landscape you plan and execute your tactics in time with the primal pounding of a tribal wardrum for maximum impact," the press release said. "Off-beat magic has infected the lands, neighboring settlements have fallen and it's up to you and a band of five warriors to keep the beat. Venture out into a harsh fantasy world filled with rhythm magic and stop the source of this off-beat threat once and for all."
The release says Wardrum sports "deep tactical turn-based combat," which I'm also all for, and I think that the rhythm-based gameplay has some potential for good fun as well. Does anyone else use their whole body to stay in time with the beat in games like this? I hope it's not just me, and I'm willing to be that is not the case. You gotta feel it with every ounce of your being.
Anyway, Wardrum is available now to be wishlisted on Steam, and it'll be yet another that I will keep an eye on as we head into 2026, which is already looking to be filled with more wonderful indies like this one.

Romeo is a Dead Man, the new surrealist action game by the legendary Suda51, seems to be coming sooner than we thought.
According to a new leak, which appears to have been an accident at the PlayStation store, revealed the game's release date as Feb. 11, 2026. This is about three months away as of this article, and implies we'll get some new footage of the game to confirm the release date at the upcoming 2025 Game Awards event, which is scheduled for Dec. 11.
From what we've seen of the game so far, Romeo is a Dead Man is as bats**t crazy as they come, combining countless visual styles and genres into one cohesive pile of action-packed carnage. It appears to be a direct upgrade over Suda51's previous work, which includes legendary action titles such as Lollipop Chainsaw and Killer7. He is best known for these wild, cerebral action experiences, and Romeo is a Dead Man might be his most outlandish work yet.
As with his previous works, it's been inspired by pop culture and other media, which he himself told us this summer during an interview at Gamescom. Of all the things that could've had an impact on the game, Suda51 cited Rick and Morty as a major inspiration, particularly due to how character relationships function in the game (the main character and his grandfather are protagonists, which should be a familiar formula to all who've seen Rick and Morty).
I'm super excited to see the game in action (pun intended) once it does come out, and it appears we won't have to wait much longer.

I found the first one in the Luminarium, near the exit door. When you reach the door, you'll find a shelf to the left. The headphone is located on the bottom shelf. To find it, you'll actually need to crouch (if you're standing and looking in front, chances are that you'll miss the headphones).
I have also marked the location of the shelf to make it easier for you to get to the correct spot. There are a bunch of zombies that spawn in this location, so be careful of those.
Location 2
I found the second Mister Peeks headphones in a display case in Machina Astralis. There are plenty of display cabinets at the location. However, what you're looking for essentially is a display case made with glass. If you enter from the main door (from Scholar's Way), the case will be to your immediate right.
The headphone is inside the case. I didn't attempt to break the case, so it's something you can try.
Location 3
A third Mister Peeks headphone is also located in Astra Malorum, but I haven't managed to find it at the time of writing. Once I manage to discover its location, I will duly update it on the guide.
Finding the third and final headphone will solve the Astro Malorum Musical easter egg and unlock a song by Kevin Sherwood. The first two locations are also close to where you can find the Pack-A-Punch machine in Astra Malorum.

Path of Exile 2 is getting its new class, the Druid, which is probably the most anticipated class of the game's entire early access period. It's capable of hybridizing all the other classes into one single unit of absolute power, so it's no wonder that so many want to get their hands on it.
But that sheer potential of the class raises some concerns.
In a media briefing I attended, I saw the Druid class in full action. It can turn into various beasts, like the wolf, the bear, and the wyvern, and make liberal use of other classes' abilities via a new item called meta gems. In essence, the Druid is a class of limitless potential, with which no two players will have the same experience. And this is great if you're a seasoned player looking to utilize the Druid's versatility and turn it into the most powerful class in the game.
But casual players could find the thing daunting, what with all these variables in the equation that seem impossible to solve. So I asked Jonathan Rogers, PoE2's game director, about it. I inquired if and how GGG optimized the class to make it appealing to newcomers and veterans alike, considering how complex and versatile the Druid is.
"You don't necessarily have to think too hard about combining the different abilities from the different forms if you don't want to," Rogers said. "If you want to just be like 'I'm gonna be a wolf and just gonna do wolf things,' then you've got a very viable strategy there."
"We made sure that each of the animal forms can still feel simple like that. So if you want to take a simple approach, you absolutely can, there's no problem with that," he concluded.
Rogers also said that things will appear while playing the Druid that'll "tempt you" into branching out into these limitless possibilities, but that it's your prerogative whether or not you wish to give in to these temptations.
The Druid is the most exciting class in any ARPG I've ever seen, and I can't wait to see how it plays once it comes out on Dec. 12.

Destructoid Thursday, December 4, 2025 2:31 PM We finally got a trailer for PoE2's new class and league, and I've never been more excited for ARPGs
Path of Exile 0.4.0 has been revealed in great detail, with GGG particularly showcasing the upcoming Druid class and the new league, Fate of the Vaal.
And I have to say I've never been more excited for ARPG content than I am now.
The Druid class is a complex, meta-gameplay-oriented class that has three animal forms alongside a human spellcaster form, allowing players to branch out in any direction they wish, including hybridizing the Druid's inner beasts or tying into the many other classes in the game.
It can turn into a giant bear, a swift and lethal wolf, or a fire-breathing wyvern, each carrying its own set of abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Everything the player does as a beast interacts and ties into what they do as the human form, and the spells you cast tend to synergize heavily with your attacks and abilities in animal form.
This level of interactivity, hybridizing, and synergy between the Druid, his shapes, and even other spells and classes is unprecedented in ARPGs, signaling the birth of the most complex class in the genre's history.
Though it's yet to come out on the 12th, I can hardly wait to see how it works in practice, as what we've been shown in the trailer has hooked me on PoE2 for the foreseeable future.
But it wasn't the only thing shown.
We also got insight into the Fate of the Vaal league that comes out alongside patch 0.4.0 and the Druid class. Like other leagues, it fundamentally alters how each map plays, with new content, loot, and story elements. But what's most interesting about the whole league is the new Vaal Temple mechanic that is unlocked through certain quests in the overworld.
Once accessed, the temple, once housing the Queen of the Vaal herself, Atziri, is a new map to explore that changes every time you visit it. However, it is you who influences these changes, adding new rooms, connecting them with other nodes to buff the loot inside, and expanding the level as you see fit. Every time you clear the rooms, two will be randomly discarded.
Each time you visit the temple, you can add six new rooms for that run, essentially creating your own playground. Eventually, you will have reached Atziri, getting the chance to fight her and gain access to tremendous items and loot. Speaking of loot, you'll be met with a dozen opportunities to create new and unique corrupted items, or risk losing it all in one of the many strange devices within the temple.
This create-your-own-fun approach is the best thing that I've ever seen in an ARPG, and it should add a ton of replayability to the league. I certainly hope a lot is learned from this mechanic and it makes its way into other games, as well as into other PoE2 leagues, at least in essence.
A lot of great stuff is coming in patch 0.4.0 alongside these groundbreaking changes. Performance improvements, tweaks to mapping, hundreds of passives and skills, and a whole lot more are on their way on Dec. 12.

Destiny 2's Lawless Frontier is marked by warring factions, and Renegades lets you side with one of them at a time. This choice isn't final, but it may be tricky to choose one if you don't know what it entails.
Each Syndicate brings its own benefits, including an exclusive shader at rank five. If you'd like to compare each faction before picking one, we'll list the major differences between them. And if you crunched the data and pledged your allegiance because Vex in trenchcoats are cool... well, same. Its unique mod is icing on the cake.
Here's a breakdown of the Syndicate system in Destiny 2's Renegades expansion.
Which Syndicate should you side with in Destiny 2?
There's no one right answer for this, since a lot of it relies on preference, and it's somewhat balanced. We'll list the differences between each faction so you can make your own decision. As a bit of a spoiler, the Tharsis Reformation has the best Praxic Blade mod, while the Totality Division has a great Renegade ability (Behemoth).
Whichever you choose, we encourage you to stick with a Syndicate until reaching max rank with them. Doing so unlocks the Fellow Friend triumph, which in turn lets you improve all your Renegades drops by one tier after talking to the Spider.
The differences between each Syndicate in Destiny 2 Renegades
Each Syndicate has its own dedicated mod for your Praxic blade, two Renegade abilities, and one focused weapon available for sale. These are the main gameplay differences between each faction, so take them into account when deciding.
Despite their differences, their progression looks similar, based on your standing with them:
Can you change Syndicates in Destiny 2 Renegades?
You can change Syndicates in Renegades easily if you haven't done your faction's priority contract in a given day. Just go to their representative in the Tharsis Cantina and interact with their banner to change your allegiance for that day (or until you complete your priority contract).
You don't really lose anything by choosing a different syndicate by itself, but the opportunity cost might get you if you switch too often. You can also use your Dark Metal Ingots to get some XP with any faction, even if you're not allied to them.

During the Dec. 4 celebration of Total War's 25th birthday, we got several cool and exciting announcements, including the fabled Medieval 3, which has officially been acknowledged.
Though that game is probably half a decade away, it's being in early pre-production and all that jazz, we're going to get another Total War game much sooner. Mentioned briefly at the end of the presentation, this upcoming Total War is going to be revealed to the world at this year's Game Awards event, and is the "most ambitious" game in the franchise.
However, we're going to have to wait for a week to actually figure out what it's about. Many are already speculating on two possible franchises: Star Wars or Warhammer 40K. Both are quite similar in scope and genre and take place across a whole galaxy, with star-faring civilizations embroiled in warfare.
Of course, the latter ups the ante in every imaginable way, as you can seldom say that Star Wars has planet-sized ships that literally bombard worlds with churches while playing ecclesiastical music into their atmospheres. But yeah, Star Wars is cool too, I guess.
The very fact that Creative Assembly is gatekeeping the announcement and saving it for the biggest gaming event of the year certainly does signal that a huge franchise is in question. Whether it's Star Wars, 40K, or even something like The Lord of the Rings, it's safe to say we're in for a treat.
And with the new engine, which can handle things much better than what CA has used thus far, it could very well be the inaugural title of a new era, one where Total War is much deeper, complex, and ambitious than before. Or I could just be coping and imagining what could have been.
We'll meet on Dec. 11.
