PCGamesN Thursday, June 9, 2022 7:32 AM The Netflix League of Legends TV show Arcane is getting a 'making of' documentary, and it'll give fans something to feast on before season 2 arrives. Dubbed 'Bridging the Rift', the five-part mini-series pulls back the curtain on the critically acclaimed adaptation while promising to explore "how Arcane came to be." Riot Games says Arcane: Bridging the Rift will release on YouTube every Thursday starting August 4. A Twitter teaser for the making of documentary includes the line "Every legend has a beginning, and it's not always where one would expect," suggesting fans could be in for a few insightful surprises. Making its debut in November last year, Arcane follows the story of sisters Jinx and Vi, two popular League of Legends champions that find themselves on opposite sides of conflict. Season 1 received praise among critics for its unique animation, story, and voice acting, with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating hammering home its acclaimed status. We also reckon it's one of the best videogame TV adaptions ever made, standing on its own merit rather than relying on existing lore. PCGamesN Thursday, June 9, 2022 6:48 AM It's getting to be about that time of year when we dust off our traditional sunglasses, bust out the lemonade, and settle in for videogame trailers season. While there's no E3 this year in either in-person or streaming formats, we've got Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest to look forward to. Here's the Summer Game Fest start time, as well as the various platforms where you'll be able to tune in to catch all the upcoming PC games news. Summer Game Fest is showcase of announcements and trailers for upcoming games, hosted by journalist and presenter Geoff Keighley. It usually runs for around three hours, and includes many world premieres of new teasers and game footage. You won't need to register for the show in order to tune in, and the show will air on all major streaming platforms. You can watch it on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. For a more 'live show' experience, you can also watch Summer Game Fest at select IMAX theatres in the US and Canada. |
PCGamesN Thursday, June 9, 2022 7:16 AM Terraria is getting a new sight potion, and it reveals the sandbox game's dreaded evil biomes. The new item should help players prevent corrupted landscapes from infecting the world map, a hardcore mode feature that transforms the map into a pixelated hell. Re-logic's head of marketing, Ted "Loki" Murphy, shows off the new Terraria sight potion in a shot clip, with the item seemingly revealing the presence of evil biomes underground. Doing so enables the player to purge the tainted areas using a Clentaminator, a steampunk style gun that can be used in hard mode to create and destroy ecosystems. In response to the Terraria potion reveal, fans are heralding the item as a game-changer. The handy beverage should help hardcore mode players eliminate every patch of sinister soil on the world map, ultimately curbing evil from showing up at your base door. One player suggests it could even improve the experience for colourblind adventurers, as it makes hallowed and normal stone more distinguishable in low light conditions. PCGamesN Thursday, June 9, 2022 6:09 AM Looking for the best Genshin Impact Heizou build? Although not confirmed, the current rumours suggest that this new Genshin Impact character will release during the Genshin Impact 2.8 update later this summer, although an exact Heizou banner release date is probably a while off yet. It's perhaps a touch early to be thinking about the best Genshin Impact Heizou build, but enough information has leaked from a recent 2.8 beta via Honey Hunter that we can start to do some theory crafting. We know Heizou is an Anemo character, but everything else is unconfirmed at this point - including the suggestion that he could be the RPG games' first male catalyst user. We've put together a guide on some of the best theory crafting surrounding Heizou right now, summarising what his top picks will be for weapons, as well as artifact sets to make the most of his leaked abilities. The current theory is that he will be a main DPS catalyst, so you'll want to maximise his own damage output as an on-field character, rather than a support. PCGamesN Thursday, June 9, 2022 7:09 AM Want to know about new Genshin Impact characters? Since its release in 2020, the addictive anime game has seen plenty of regular updates expanding on the game's content - and adding several new characters by way of limited time banners. New Genshin Impact characters - according to Hoyoverse's Genshin Impact roadmap - should release with every major update. If past experience is anything to go by, during each new patch there will be at least one Genshin Impact banner with a new five-star character, and possibly new four-star characters included as well. That said, several new Genshin Impact characters have been added outside of this schedule, like Genshin Impact's Klee - so we could see new characters arrive unexpectedly, too. Yelan and Kuki Shinobu are the most recent new characters to arrive in the Genshin Impact 2.7 update, and we know that Heizou is also coming, possibly in the next patch. There are also a few leaks and some datamined information concerning new faces that may appear in future Genshin Impact updates. However, until they're officially announced, these characters are not final and may be subject to changes. PCGamesN Thursday, June 9, 2022 6:03 AM It looks like developer Playground Games has once again teamed up with one of our favourite toy brands to bring us Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC, at least if the latest leak is anything to go by. This would be the first expansion for the best racing game and the second time the two companies have come together in a gravity-defying collaboration. The Forza Horizon 5 DLC first appeared online as half of a banner image on Steam, showing off the iconic windy tracks we've come to expect from Hot Wheels. It's still live at the time of writing, but Wario64 has immortalised the slip of the finger in a screenshot just in case it gets taken down. Currently, details are a little thin on the ground. It'll presumably debut at Summer Game Fest beginning June 9, but we're not yet sure of a release date. We do know the price, though, as it'll be one half of the Forza Horizon 5 Expansions Bundle for $34.99 / £26.99. Alternatively, you can nab the DLC as a part of the Forza Horizon 5 Premium Add-ons Bundle on Steam for $47.66 / £37.59, complete with the VIP pass, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, and Expansions Bundle. PCGamesN Thursday, June 9, 2022 1:26 AM When the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 release date rolls around this fall, developer Infinity Ward hopes it marks more than the launch date of the latest in the long-running series of multiplayer FPS games. Modern Warfare II has big ambitions, and Infinity Ward says this chapter marks a "broad page turn" in the franchise with some new technology and new ideas to bring to bear. Internally, the studio has been calling it "CoD 2.0," the start of a new era for the franchise. Modern Warfare II is set three years after the events of 2019's Modern Warfare, with Captain John Price and CIA handler Kate Laswell having assembled their lethal Task Force 141 counter-terrorism unit. That elite team includes Sergeant Kyle 'Gaz' Garrick and the skull-masked Simon 'Ghost' Riley, a key character in 2009's Modern Warfare 2, who's joined by Sergeant John 'Soap' McTavish, the squad's junior member. The events of the campaign kick off when a US airstrike kills a hostile foreign general, which sets in motion a deadly revenge plot that Task Force 141 is sent to sabotage. As they hop around the globe in pursuit of terrorists, Task Force 141 enlists the help of some new characters: Commander Philip Graves, who leads a private military contractor called Shadow Company, and Colonel Alejandro Vargas, who leads a squad of Mexican special forces known as Los Vaqueros. |

Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, June 9, 2022 6:02 AM V Rising is an early access survival game with a big focus on crafting and a tinge of MMO. It's being developed by Stunlock Studios, the folks behind arena-brawler Battlerite that lifts the fights from MOBAs like Dota 2 or League Of Legends and cuts away all the tedious build-up. So quite the departure then? Yes and no. V Rising strikes out as its own thing, but Stunlock's back catalogue definitely bleeds into its combat and exploration and easygoing attitude. Siliconera Thursday, June 9, 2022 6:30 AM More new anime series have come out of Netflix's Geeked Week event. Alongside Uncle From Another World and a new slate of Junji Ito adaptations comes a new trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The anime series based on CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 game was also accompanied by an entirely original animated series from Wit Studio: Moonrise. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is produced by anime Studio Trigger, which animated Kill la Kill, Promare, and BNA: Brand New Animal. The series premieres in September 2022 and will run for ten episodes. A standalone story not dependent on having played Cyberpunk 2077 or the original tabletop RPG, it focuses on the saga of David, a Streetkid living in Night City. Check out the trailer below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4ztgjvfU60 The trailer shows off the characters and sights of Night City, as well as spotlighting David and his companion Lucy, a young woman with her own cybernetic augmentations. In the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime series, she's shown with monowire whip arm implants, which also show up in the game. CD Projekt Red posted a much more detailed featurette about Cyberpunk: Edgerunners on the official Cyberpunk 2077 Youtube channel. The featurette shows the pair interacting with the Maelstrom, a Night City gang characterized by extreme levels of cybernetic augmentation. Several Maelstrom members have their entire orbital areas replaced with mechanical eyes and have mantis blades implanted in their arms. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxapZWv4pNs Besides the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, another new series is on the way to Netflix from Wit Studio, which animated Bubble, Ranking of Kings, Vinland Saga, and Attack on Titan's first few seasons, and is co-producing Spy x Family with Cloverworks. It's called Moonrise. It was announced last year and involves Mardock Scramble author Tow Ubukata. Netflix tweeted a poster and promised that the series would explore "the vast hardships of exploring outer space." Info on the Japanese Netflix Anime Twitter account revealed that Masashi Koizuka is attached as director. He worked on seasons 2 and 3 of Attack on Titan. https://twitter.com/NetflixGeeked/status/1534679166951510017 The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime will appear on Netflix worldwide in September 2022. Siliconera Thursday, June 9, 2022 6:00 AM U-Treasure has released a Pokemon diamond in the shape of a Poke Ball. The cut is a round brilliant, but it has more than twice as many facets as usual. A normal round brilliant cut has 58 facets. However, the U-Treasure Poke Ball diamond has 143. The diamond will cost around 313,500 JPY, which is approximately $2,339. [Thanks, PR Times!] The U-Treasure Poke Ball engagement diamond will be available from June 9, 2022. You can also see it in the U-Treasure concept store in Ikebukuro. As mentioned earlier, the diamond has more facets than the typical round brilliant cut. The more facets a diamond has, the more light it reflects. The number of cuts creates the Poke Ball's distinctive shape, including the line in the middle where it opens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfaMKA3T2ho According to U-Treasure, there is a symbolic meaning for why this gem looks like a Poke Ball. Just like how the basic Poke Ball is with you at the beginning of your Pokemon journey, this is meant to signify the start of a new adventure with your spouse. As this is simply a diamond, you will need to purchase the ring separately. For example, you can choose this diamond for the Pikachu solitaire ring U-Treasure released in October 2021. The U-Treasure Poke Ball engagement diamond is available online, and U-Treasure offers international shipping. Siliconera Thursday, June 9, 2022 5:00 AM Annapurna Interactive has tweeted some frequently asked questions and answers regarding the upcoming Stray game. Some of the information includes the price, as well as the length of the game. There will also be a physical version of the game coming out for the PlayStation 5, though the release window and pricing are unknown. The digital version of the game will cost $29.99. Annapurna Interactive is working with video game company iam8bit on the physical PS5 version of the game. It is unclear if the physical copy will have a different price from the digital one. The physical copy will come with six art cards though. https://twitter.com/iam8bit/status/1534568828620853248 In total, Stray will take about 8 hours to complete. However, if you wish to find and pick up all the collectibles, it would take you longer. You will also not be able to customize the cat itself, as this is not the story of any random stray cat. Stray will have the player control a normal cat who can use a cat's natural agility and physical abilities to explore a dystopian future city. The city does have enemies such as robots that you have to avoid, but you do have a drone called B12 to help you on your journey. There is both a gameplay trailer and walkthrough online for more information on how Stray will play. Stray is in development and will come out on July 19, 2022, for the Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
