June 23, 2025: We're on the hunt for new GPO codes for the Hunt update.

What are the new GPO codes? We've got the lot! Often topping the charts when it comes to anime-inspired Roblox adventures, Grand Piece Online codes are becoming increasingly rare, making them all the more valuable with each new update. They're a great way to keep ahead of the competition or, if you're new, make an immediate dent in the world. They're also good for getting secondary characters over the starting hurdles. But they expire fast.

Released in 2021, Grand Piece Online sees hundreds of thousands of eager Roblox pirates and marines flock to its shores every day. Inspired by the One Piece anime and manga, this one still closely competes with Blox Fruits codesKing Legacy codes, and Fruit Battlegrounds codes. They're some of the biggest, most well-known Pirate-faring adventures on the platform right now, and a great way to understand how this one looks to change things up.

What are the new Fruit Battlegrounds codes? Codes for this Roblox game are a must-have if you want to dominate the leaderboards in the fruity arena. Players are drawn to Popo's game for the anime style and inspiration. You've probably already guessed, but it's another adventure game based on a certain fruit-obsessed Japanese franchise.

You might be wondering how to get your hands on Fruit Battlegrounds codes to get free gems that you can spend on free spins, or if you're playing other Roblox games, we have Project Slayers codes and Blox Fruits codes, too. And if you're looking for something a little more new and shiny, Blade Ball codes and Pet Simulator 99 codes are coming in hot.

June 23, 2025: We're risking it all for new Murder Mystery 2 codes.

What are the newest Murder Mystery codes? Roblox games rarely throw up an intense experience as MM2, a game where you could be set up as the murderer, a bystander, or the sheriff. The murderer has to, well, murder while the bystanders attempt to avoid the wrath of said player, leaving the sheriff to figure out, and eliminate, the out of place baddie. Murder Mystery 2 game codes can spice things up with some additional flair.

This Roblox game is more cerebral than most, which means you'll rely on your wits most of the time. Still, having a helping hand in the form of some freebies via MM2 codes never hurts. Blade Ball codes shouldn't be ignored if you're after other gifts. We also have Project Mugetsu codes and Blox Fruits codes that can help you grind those long-tail adventure games.

June 23, 2025: We've had another good look for new Anime Adventures codes.

What are the new Anime Adventures codes? To stop the evil forces from storming your base you'll want to summon the most powerful characters from some of the most popular anime ever, such as One Piece, My Hero Academia, and Dragon Ball. But, of course, some are more powerful than others, so if you want to get the most out of the game's gacha system, you'll want tons of codes.

Anime Adventures is a tower defense anime game built inside Roblox, and you can earn gems to summon units by grinding through levels and completing daily missions. AA codes can help you get even more gems, which you can spend on getting the best units in the game. While you're here, you should know that we also keep lists of Blox Fruits codes, King Legacy codes, and All Star Tower Defense codes to get you more freebies.

Gamers in Europe were recently able to buy an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 gaming GPU for way less than the MSRP for a brief moment. However, the average price for this graphics card remains at sky-high levels as general availability issues persist.

If you hope to own an RTX 5090 without paying over the MSRP, you'll need to jump on a good deal incredibly quickly if you see one. Otherwise, this powerful Nvidia GPU, which is the king of our best graphics card buying guide when it comes to gaming performance, is still largely being sold at well above the MSRP, particularly in the US.

We're seeing the first tantalizing signs of green shoots appearing in the US graphics card market, with the prices of several cards dropping to their lowest levels for months. Most notably, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 and AMD Radeon RX 9070 are now available to buy for half-sensible prices, rather than the outlandish sums they've been demanding until recently.

As we found in our GeForce RTX 5070 review, this mid-range Nvidia GPU doesn't quite have enough VRAM to play some of the latest games at top settings, but it does have a decent amount of rendering power at its disposal, as well as support for the full Nvidia DLSS 4 suite, including multi frame gen. We preferred the AMD GPU in our Radeon RX 9070 review, as it comes with a full 16GB of memory, even if the 9070 XT is significantly quicker.

"Wait, it's a survival game?" That was the prevailing question surrounding We Happy Few when it launched in early access in 2016. Having lowered jaws industry-wide with the rich world and narrative clout it demonstrated in previews beforehand, it felt almost like a bait-and-switch that Compulsion's hype magnet was not, in fact, from the Bioshock mold, but more of a DayZ-alike in Andrew Ryan's clothing.

Here was a game pulled straight from the sort of books you'd expect to find on Ken Levine's bedside table: Huxley's Brave New World and Orwell's 1984, novels rich in social allegory and poetic resonance, distinct from the pulp of Tom Clancy or Warhammer that other games unduly lean upon. It had found a genuinely fresh setting in alt-history 1960s Britain, where everyone takes psychoactive drugs to suppress the terrible reality that would otherwise confront and consume them.

It looks as though AMD is gearing up to launch a new AMD Ryzen X3D gaming CPU with a cheaper price than the acclaimed Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The new AMD Ryzen 5 9600X3D may not have officially launched, but the name of the new gaming CPU has now been spotted in a driver entry on AMD's own website, hinting that its release is imminent.

AMD has recently changed its approach to the design of its X3D chips, with the huge layer of 64MB cache now sitting under the CPU cores, rather than on top of them, while also moving to the powerful new AMD Zen 5 architecture. As we found in our AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D review, the new design enables higher clock speeds and cooler running, gaining this chip the coveted top spot on our best gaming CPU buying guide. The 9800X3D is expensive, though, and it looks as though AMD is now offering a cut-down, cheaper design based on the same principles.

What is the best webcam? Whether you're regularly streaming or mostly need a webcam for dialing into work calls, a good webcam is now an essential PC upgrade for most PC gamers. A dedicated webcam can also give you a huge boost in image quality compared to the built-in offerings found on your laptop.

Our current choice of the best webcam for most is the Logitech C920, as it offers a reliable combination of decent 1080p image quality and clear sound quality, all for a reasonable price. For 4K image quality, the Elgato Facecam Pro is the way to go while the OBSBOT Tiny 2 is great for presentations thanks to its ability to move the camera to follow you, and if you want a budget PTZ option, the new Emeet Pixy is great value. If you're looking for advice on which webcam to pick, check out the how to choose a webcam section at the bottom of this page. Here I am again to argue that Civilization 7, as much as it may be too radical a departure from 4X game tradition, has the potential to be very, very good. Four months since Firaxis launched the strategy sequel and its Steam user ratings are still relatively dismal. Players find that the Ages system fractures and breaks the flow of your empire building, and that certain mechanics like crises and Legacy paths are too punitive or limiting. Competition is stiff. Stellaris keeps evolving, Ara History Untold is mounting a comeback, and beloved classics like Age of Empires 2 and even Civ 5 and 6 are pulling players away from Firaxis' latest. The new Civilization 7 update, however, feels like it could mark the beginning of a turnaround.

McFarlane Making Persona 3 Reload Protagonist Action Figure

Atlus and McFarlane announced that the Persona 3 Reload protagonist will be turned into an Elite Edition action figure. We don't know a release date yet. However, we do know McFarlane will start taking pre-orders for the item on July 3, 2025.

A first photo showed the box and some of the character's accessories. He'll wear his outfit for heading into Tartarus and come equipped with a sword and an Evoker. There will be seven hand parts included for different poses. Four face plates will be in the set for different expressions too. The collectible art cards included with it will be the Fool Arcana one representing the SEES social link and one of the figure's box art in a matching white stand.

Here's a closer look at what will be in the box:

We can get an idea of what this action figure might cost. The Diablo IV Lilith and DOOM: The Dark Ages DOOM Slayer ones each cost $59.99. Both also stood at seven inches tall, so the Persona 3 Reload one should be about that height too.

This isn't the only new figure based on a character from the series on the way. Prime 1 Studios announced it is making some too. We don't know which characters will be a part of that lineup yet, however.

Persona 3 Reload is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the McFarlane Elite Edition protagonist figure will be available to pre-order starting on July 3, 2025.

Appropriately enough, it's called Sanrio Characters Color Collection Charm: Red. They are available in capsule machines now in Japan, though the English site doesn't note when we'll see them in places like the US and Canada yet. Each one costs 300円 (~$2).

The Sanrio Characters Color Collection Charm: Red line strikes a balance between major mascots and more minor ones that aren't as well known. The famous ones this time are Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Pochacco. The two more obscure ones are Marroncream and Minna no Tabo. All characters hold a red balloon hat matches their outfit. They also appear on a ball chain keychain.

Here's a closer look at the official ad for these new charms.

The first collection in this series involved characters with blue as a major part of their color scheme. The majority of them ended up being very recognizable characters like Cinnamoroll, Hangyodon, Pekkle, and Tuxedo Sam. It did feature one more obscure Sanrio mascot: PataPataPeppy.

The Sanrio Characters Color Collection Charm: Red accessories are now in Japanese Bandai Namco gashapon machines, and there's no release window for capsule machines in the US and Canada yet.

Prime 1 Studio Teases Persona 3 and Metaphor: ReFantazio Figures

Prime 1 Studio announced it will start making figures of characters from Atlus games Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio. The reveals came up during its Next Level Showcase XIV: The Bridges Between Worlds presentation on June 20, 2025. It didn't make any specific announcements regarding which folks will be represented.

In both cases, the Prime 1 Studio Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio figure reveals were quite vague. Only the game logos appeared. Each one did note that "collectibles" would be made, which means we'll likely see multiple items based on different characters from these series. In the case of Persona, it specifically mentioned the remake, so designs will be based on the appearances from that game.

Here's the full showcase:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POcg3TAeZnY

And here are the two screen captures of the confirmations about the figures.

The Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio figures won't be the first Atlus games to inspire Prime 1 Studio items. The studio worked on Persona 5 ones in the past. People could get Makoto "Queen" Niijima alone or with her Persona Johanna. Joker appeared too.

Persona 3 Reload is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Metaphor: ReFantazio is on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Death Stranding 2 Early Access Streaming Guidelines Set

People who ordered the Deluxe or Collector's Editions of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach get early access to the game at 12am ET on June 24, 2025, and there are special streaming guidelines on the official site for this period to prevent spoilers for slipping out. Basically, you need to stop once you hit the campaign mission "Order: No. 28."

The guidelines aren't terribly strict for streaming Death Stranding 2 during early access or after. One that persists regardless of when you stream is that someone must include the following legal disclaimer in posts and streams, "©2025 KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS Co., Ltd. / HIDEO KOJIMA. Produced by Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc." Another is that the developer requests a spoiler alert be placed somewhere if substantial campaign details will come up regardless of when it appears.

However, the main detail affects anyone playing before 12am ET on June 24, 2025. Episode 7 of Death Stranding 2, "Order: No. 28" is the final mission someone can show. This is about at the halfway point of the game. Kojima Productions also ended up being very specific in saying the stream must end once the "results" screen that shows your grade, Sam's level up stats, and rewards appears.

Death Stranding 2 early access starts at 12am ET on June 24, 2025, if you bought the Deluxe or Collector's Edition, and everyone gets access to the PS5 game on June 26, 2025.

Next New Genshin Impact Character Is Ineffa the Robot Maid

HoYoVerse started the social media drip marketing for the next Genshin Impact update, and that meant revealing the robot maid character Ineffa. She's one of the latest folks from Natlan. Her official title is "Multifunctional Robot for Domestic Application."

Since Ineffa is a robot, her Genshin Impact reveal doesn't actually mention a Vision when discussing the element the character uses. Predictably, considering she's a mechanical being, she deals Electro damage. Her title also references that, as it is "Boom Boom Thunderwave." We don't know what kind of weapon she will use, though she appears to wield a staff in her official art. We also don't know if she will be a four-star or five-star unit.

Other elements of the new Genshin Impact character's past are vague, though we do know she is basically a robot maid originally. Her country of origin isn't mentioned, but one person in the teaser text referenced her visiting Natlan. Her creator is also someone named Aino who wrote "Ineffa's External Deployment and Support Agreement." The other profile mentioned that people in Teyvat have attempted to create artificial life since the time when Khaenri'ah was at its height.

Here's a better look at the official art for Ineffa.

The current five-star focus characters available on banners in Genshin Impact are Skirk and Shenhe.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices.

Hololive Production Official Shop Using Death Stranding 2 Tape

Cover announced that the Hololive Production Official Shop online storefront will use Death Stranding 2 style packing tape. This is due to the fact that Hololive Japan Vtuber Usada Pekora appears in the game as a prepper. While the shop does have a worldwide branch and ships to the US and Canada, only the Japanese social media account announced the promotion is in effect while supplies last. This means it is uncertain if purchases made outside the region also get the special tape.

In Death Stranding 1 and 2, boxes have yellow "void if tampered" Damage Sensor Tape around the seams. In-world, the color will change as a damage indicator. The top of the tape on each Hololive Production Official Shop package references that with the Death Stranding 2 quote, "Benchmarker: The sensor is always active & will instantly develop color if damage is received. Match the tape's color with the reference chart to estimate damage. To extend the service life keep cold when not in use. Avoid prolonged exposure to heat and sunlight."

Here's the official photo of the packaging from Cover's announcement:

While Hideo Kojima and his studio only confirmed the appearance of Hololive Vtuber Usada Pekora in Death Stranding 2 closer to the game's launch, there were teasers suggesting she'd appear before that. He expressed appreciation for her on social media, for example. She also visited Kojima Productions' studio

Death Stranding 2 early access starts at 12am ET on June 24, 2025, if you bought the Deluxe or Collector's Edition, and everyone gets access to the PS5 game on June 26, 2025.

Tales of Graces f Atelier Yumia Costume DLC Debuts

Koei Tecmo shared the free Atelier Yumia outfit inspired by Tales of Graces f, with the DLC available now worldwide on all platforms. There is also a free Falbra Thicket location people can get by downloading an additional map add-on. The paid Atelier Series Legacy BGM and Gust Extra BGM Packs also launched on June 23, 2025.

In the case of the costume, people who get the free Tales of Graces f DLC outfit can dress Yumia like Asbel in Atelier Yumia. Koei Tecmo and Bandai Namco first announced it in March 2025. Only teaser art appeared at the time, so this is our first opportunity to see it in action. It will be immediately available once you unlock the Dressing Room.

Here's how that looks:

There's a YouTube trailer for it too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEk-0NJ4E9M

As for the new map, it adds Ligneus' Falbra Thicket. This isn't just a place to gather items. The Alber live there, and you can interact with them and take side quests tied to those characters. A Building Area and Pioneering Effort also appear. It isn't immediately accessible. Someone needs to download the DLC, then go through the quest "The Alber Settlement." Legendary is available now in an update, as are the Energy Sphere and Projector Feature Modules and Kurken Island architecture.

There are three screenshots showing that.

Finally, the paid DLC involves 1,400 Atelier series songs. These cover classic games through more modern releases. The screenshots showed Atelier Elie, Atelier Lilie, Atelier Judie, Atelier Viorate, Atelier Iris 1-3, Mana Khemia 1-2, Atelier Rorona and its Plus release, Atelier Totori, Atelier Meruru, Atelier Lulua, Atelier Ayesha, Atelier Escha & Logy, Atelier Shallie, and Atelier Sophie. The official site mentioned Atelier Marie and Atelier Ryza 2. Atelier Series Legacy BGM Pack consists of around 1,000 songs, while Gust Extra BGM Pack has 400.

Here are the two screenshots for that add-on, which is also part of the season pass.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Envisioned Land is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

A group of PEAK characters climbing up a mountain

When it comes to factors that make or break your PEAK runs, stamina is usually a major culprit. You might be running to a bridge or jumping up a tree only to run out of stamina, stumble down the mountain, and sit there waiting for friends to revive you.

It's in moments like this when we all wish we could have infinite stamina. It turns out you can, as long as you have the right items. Here's how to get unlimited stamina in PEAK.

How to get unlimited stamina in PEAK

The only way to get infinite stamina in PEAK through legitimate means is to obtain the Bugle of Friendship or Big Lollipop. You can find the Bugle and lollipop inside luggage bags, particularly Ancient ones, and near statues at the top of each level's mountain. However, your odds of finding them are low, so don't be surprised if you go a few runs without encountering them.

The Bugle of Friendship gives infinite stamina to you and any nearby friends for ten seconds at a time. There are limited charges, but you'll at least get a few opportunities to run, jump, and climb as much as you'd like for a few seconds before the bar starts depleting again. Even though it doesn't last forever, it can still be enough to save your run in many cases.

The Bugle of Friendship in PEAK
Image via Landfall and Aggrocrab

The Big Lollipop has a similar effect, granting you temporary infinite stamina. However, unlike the Bugle of Friendship, you'll become extremely lethargic after eating the lollipop, requiring you to wait until you recover from the sugar crash before progressing.

You can also find certain items in PEAK that increase or heal your stamina. Below are some suggestions:

  • Medkit: Fully heals you
  • Cure-All: Removes all status effects and restores you to maximum stamina.
  • Faerie Lantern: Heals all players in a radius.
  • Cursed Skull: Kills you but revives your teammates, restoring their stamina and removing all status effects.
  • Piton: Place on walls to recover stamina while climbing.

How to get unlimited stamina using mods in PEAK

Alternatively, if you don't want to rely on luck and are fine with cheating your way through PEAK, you can install the InfiniteStamina mod. The mod gives you unlimited stamina during your entire run. That way, you won't need to rely on any items or friends to help you along the way. Your friends can also download it if they want to enjoy the fun.

However, there are a few downsides to modding PEAK. Aside from knowing that you're cheating to win, mods can become incompatible with future game patches, requiring their creators to update them. In some cases, this can take a few hours, days, or even weeks, forcing you to play in vanilla mode until then. As long as you're fine with that, there's no worries.

Are you interested in modding the game further? Check out our complete guide to PEAK's best mods so you can have extra fun with friends.

PEAk compass

Just like in real life, reaching the top of the mountain in PEAK requires some help and some direction.

A variety of items in the new co-op climbing indie game can help you reach the mountaintop (or peak, so to speak) such as ropes, food to keep you energized, or a compass to give you a nudge in the right direction.

The Pirate's Compass is one of these items, and it's a good one to take with you if you ever come across it in your journey to the peak whether in solo play or co-op play with friends. But first, you need to find it to utilize its usefulness.

Here's everything we know so far about the Pirate's Compass in PEAK, what it does, and how to find it.

What is Pirate's Compass in PEAK?

Player holding a compass in PEAK
Screenshot by Destructoid

Pirate's Compass is a special item you can find in PEAK that will point you in the direction of the nearest closed luggage bag, which contains loot inside for you to use on your expedition up the mountain.

This is a very useful item since it makes searching for luggage bags and their corresponding loot very easy, so if you need to find items like food or any other useful resources, the Pirate's Compass will show you the way. If you find it while scavenging, pick it up to use it and keep on looting to increase your chances of reaching the peak.

How to get Pirate's Compass in PEAK

Pirate's Compass is a very rare spawn item that can be found within luggage on the map. This means that you need to get lucky within luggage to find it, and then it will help you find more luggage, so you definitely need some good fortune.

Since it's an item that spawns rarely because it's so useful, make sure you or a friend picks it up and uses it whenever you find it.

Pirate's Compass is just one of many compass types in PEAK. Check out our list here for more information.

Scoutmaster PEAK

Have you tried conquering PEAK yet?

The smash hit new indie game that released on Steam on June 16, 2025 is great for groups of friends to play in co-op as they work together to climb the titular peak of a mountain in the center of an island where the group is lost. But there's more than meets the eye to this peak.

While climbing, whether in co-op or solo play, there are some monsters and odd enemies that can hinder your progress as you climb. Along with the game not having any checkpoints or auto-saves, this can really ruin your chances of reaching the mountaintop.

One of these monsters is the Scoutmaster, a creepy, tall, green man in a straw hat who will hunt you down under some specific circumstances. But like all things in life, this particular challenge may be worth it in the end, especially if you find the Scoutmaster's Bugle.

Here's what we know about the Scoutmaster's Bugle item in PEAK.

What is Scoutmaster's Bugle in PEAK?

The scoutmaster in PEAK
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Scoutmaster's Bugle is a rare item that you can use in solo play to summon the Scoutmaster monster. This also triggers an achievement and unlocks a special cosmetic, so it's worth using if you come across it while playing PEAK in solo mode.

If you find the Scoutmaster's Bugle, equip it and use it, and the Scoutmaster will begin to hunt you down, so be prepared for his assault.

How to get Scoutmaster's Bugle in PEAK

Scoutmaster's Bugle is an item that has an incredibly low spawn rate and is very rare to find, and it can only be found when playing solo. The Scoutmaster will otherwise appear if you are playing in a group and someone gets too far ahead of the rest of the team.

Both in solo play via the Scoutmaster's Bugle or in co-op when someone goes too far ahead, spawning the Scoutmaster will unlock the Mentorship Badge achievement (let Scoutmaster pick you up and throw you) and also grants players the Inverted Eyes cosmetic.

Disney Dreamlight Valley character cooking

Completing Star Path tasks in Disney Dreamlight Valley can be tough when their requirements are veiled behind riddles. While some are simple, others, such as cooking a "fairly fancy appetizer," can take a while to learn exactly what it entails.

How to cook a fairly fancy appetizer in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Cooking a fairly fancy appetizer requires making any four-star appetizer. The easiest way to do this is to head into your cooking menu's filter page, select Appetizer as the meal type, and four-star as its star rating. Pick any of these options to make your fairly fancy appetizer.

Disney Dreamlight Valley four-star appetizers
Screenshot by Destructoid

Here are some examples of four-star appetizers you'll find in Disney Dreamlight Valley's base game:

  • Creamy Soup
  • Dream Fizz
  • Gazpacho
  • Pickled Herring
  • Soufflé

The easiest dish to use for this Star Path objective is Soufflé. You can buy all four of its ingredients from the Chez Remy kitchen, allowing you to mass-produce them as long as you have enough Star Coins to cover the cost. You can even sell the dish at a profit, making this a viable money-making method regardless of how far you are in your playthrough.

You can use these to make other "fairly fancy" meals, too. For example, if you have a task asking to cook a "fairly fancy dinner," filter your options by entrée and four-star before cooking everything. Similarly, if you need desserts, pick Dessert in the filter menu.

PEAK Bing Bong plushie

Did you know that PEAK has an adorable plushie companion you can bring with you on your mountain-climbing adventures? Bing Bong is a goofy-looking green plushie you'll find at your map's spawn, giving you a friend even if you're traveling solo.

How to find Bing Bong in PEAK

Bing Bong appears inside the plane you crash-landed from. As you wake up on the shore, turn around to spot this green plushie sitting on one of the chairs. Here, you can pick up Bing Bong, letting you carry, drop, or throw the plushie as you please.

PEAK Bing Bong on a chair
Screenshot by Destructoid

Although PEAK's maps change every 24 hours, this part will remain the same. You won't have to worry about venturing deep into the Shore and levels beyond if you want to have this little guy as a companion.

If you forget about Bing Bong and want to quickly retrieve it before climbing up the mountain, you can use a compass to run south toward the plane crash site and then return forward. However, you'll need to watch out for the fog and make sure it doesn't freeze you to death.

What does Bing Bong do in PEAK?

Bing Bong is part of a Steam achievement, Bing Bong Badge. Obtaining this achievement requires helping Bing Bong escape the island by bringing the plushie with you throughout your entire playthrough, right up until the end. If you escape while it's in your inventory, you'll gain this achievement and the satisfaction of knowing you saved an innocent plushie's life.

Aside from this, it serves no gameplay purpose. Technically, it can increase morale if having Bing Bong around makes you happy, but it won't raise your stats or give you resistance. If anything, it takes up a precious inventory slot that you could otherwise use on supplies that'll help you progress.

In short, it's only helpful to bring Bing Bong along if you like hunting for achievements or need a friend to join you up the mountain. Even if you're playing with friends, having this little critter in one of your backpacks and looking at its face is enough to bring a smile to anyone's face.

PEAK gameplay in a volcano

You'll come across some grim-looking mysterious statues on the island in PEAK, and contrary to popular belief, interacting with them doesn't kill you.

If anything, they provide you with boons that will benefit your adventures. The nature and type of boons you receive will depend slightly on whether your party members are dead. Let's look at what happens when you interact with a statue in the game (again, you won't die).

What happens when you interact with a statue in PEAK?

The statues are typically located near campfires, starting with the SHORE region. This is the first region you'll access after your crash. If you scout the location, you'll come across the statue. If you miss it, no worries, for there are statues at other locations on the island. Once you reach them, you'll get the option to interact with them.

Upon interaction, you'll randomly get legendary/mystical items from them. These are the rarest items to find in the game and have amazing in-game effects. My favorite is the Bugle of Friendship, which gives infinite stamina to your squad for 10 seconds. The effect is game-changing when activated at the correct moment, making it one of the most powerful items to have. While these items can also be obtained from Ancient Chests, having an extra chance is never a bad idea.

The Ancient Statue in PEAK
Screenshot via Landcrab

Let's suppose more of your teammates are dead. Going to a statue should be a top priority. The statue allows you to revive your dead teammates if your party weakens. Of course, there are other ways to revive your team, like the Cursed Skull (well, you end up dead in that case), but the ancient statues are just fine. It's a no-lose effort since you'll always get something beneficial in return.

Some of the statues are hard to find. However, putting in the extra effort to find them will be beneficial and help your team escape the island by reaching the highest possible point.

Of course, reaching a statue takes time, and they're located sparsely across different biomes. A few great items that are common in nature can also help to increase your chances of survival. Make sure to go through our detailed list to find out more about what they do, and which ones are best to prioritize and find on your journey.

Hytale promotional image of a rabbit

After being in development for over 10 years, Hytale, a sandbox game from the Hypixel Studios team with support from Riot, has officially been cancelled. Hypixel Studios' CEO, Noxy, announced the cancellation on X on June 23, with the official Hytale forums following suit.

As detailed in Noxy's announcement post, Hytale being canned primarily stems from the growing standards within the overall gaming industry each year, making it much harder to compete in the space. Noxy describes this further, stating that "Over time, as our vision evolved and the genre matured around us, the bar kept rising. Our technical ambitions grew more complex, and even after a major reboot of the game engine, the team found that Hytale still wasn't as far along as it needed to be."

https://twitter.com/i/status/1937180229031940439

Hytale's surge in popularity originated from Hypixel Studios' history with its Minecraft server, Hypixel. With their knowledge and experience running one of the most successful and long-standing servers, the community naturally started calling Hytale a potential "Minecraft killer," especially with how far Hypixel Studios was pushing the game's quality and features beyond their usual limits while still keeping a familiar artstyle and gameplay loop that made Minecraft as popular as it is.

Although Hytale was originally announced in 2018, updates on its development were few and far between. While the team would occasionally share screenshots from the game, including its wildlife, environments, and structures, a series of engine reboots and timeline adjustments made it tricky to see much beyond small development updates, with no word of a potential Alpha or Beta period ever coming to pass.

As a long-time fan of Hypixel's Minecraft servers for well over a decade now, I heard about Hytale shortly after its initial 2018 announcement trailer. Although I wasn't particularly surprised by this news, it's still unfortunate to see. Fortunately, Noxy clarifies later in the post that Hypixel's Minecraft servers are unaffected by this cancellation, so we won't have to worry about a complete server closure.

At the time of writing, there's no word from Noxy or the Hypixel team on what will follow from this cancellation. Odds are, they'll continue to build on their pre-existing Minecraft server, but only time will tell how this unfolds from here onward.

CoD Beavis and Butthead

A new Call of Duty announcement just hit the internet, but it unfortunately has nothing to do with Black Ops 7, or any sort of gameplay at all, for that matter.

No, gamers, today's CoD reveal is that Beavis and Butt-Head are coming to Black Ops 6 and Warzone as part of Season Four Reloaded. Yes, seriously. The MTV-watching, foul-mouthed teens who haven't been all that relevant in a couple decades are about to invade your lobby.

https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1937194237554295005

This is the first news we've gotten about the midseason update for season four, which should be dropping this week on Wednesday or Thursday. The new update should also include a couple of new maps and modes for BO6 multiplayer, some modes in Zombies, the Olympia shotgun, the Pickaxe melee weapon, and the return of Rebirth Island Ranked Play in Warzone.

But first things first: Beavis and Butt-Head! This latest collab is the most recent in a long line of increasingly weird ones that seemingly nobody asked for, and the replies to CoD's news today seem incredulous.

Black Ops 7 was revealed a few weeks ago now, for example, but it still does not have a release date, and pre-orders are not yet available. Gamers looking forward to jumping into the next CoD this fall will have to wait a bit longer, as it appears BO7's marketing push is on the back burner while BO6 gets its last few updates in the spotlight.

Warzone players, meanwhile, are still just waiting for playlist updates to bring back the Solo option in battle royale, which has been missing for quite some time and seemingly replaced by the Casual variant.

I do have to wonder, though, just when Call of Duty Next will take place and when BO7 will be launching. The rest of the content calendar for this current CoD is looking a bit iffy, with only the final Zombies map launching in season five, some time in July, being confirmed thus far.

Cronos The New Dawn hallway

What do you get when you combine the gameplay of survival horror titles like Dead Space and Resident Evil with a classic horror movie like The Thing? Well, it's right here.

Comparing Cronos: The New Dawn to three of the most iconic names in horror is a big deal, but it's not without reason. A new developer diary detailing the upcoming title's gameplay has me more hyped for it than I already was, which is saying something.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWVTXo05K7s

In the new video, game director Jacek Zięba and lead combat designer Shamil Yanbukhtin of Bloober Team (Silent Hill 2 remake, Layers of Fear) went into detail on how the third-person shooter will play, and it's impossible not to think of games like Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 when you see it in action.

But Cronos: The New Dawn adds its own wrinkle with its enemy type, reminiscent of ooze from The Thing, which requires a special kind of strategy to deal with. The monsters in the game don't stay dead for long because they eventually merge to create something worse. And so, like in the Resident Evil remake, you need to burn their bodies to prevent it from happening.

In true survival horror fashion, though, resources will be scarce, so you will need to decide when to fight, when to run, or figure out another way to complete your objectives by using temporal anomalies to travel backwards and forwards in time. Basically, we're in for a real trip.

Cronos: The New Dawn also boasts some incredible-looking environments, creepy and atmospheric, to further push itself into the discussion for the survival horror genre, which seems to be on fire lately. And Bloober Team is a big part of that, so it's good to see the studio kicking off a new IP that looks so promising.

Cronos: The New Dawn is scheduled to launch sometime this fall for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Wonder Woman looking at a hero training target in Fortnite

Story quests often require you to venture to unique locations and interact with unusual items in Fortnite. One of the tricky story quests you may come across tasks you with hitting hero practice targets at different hero training outposts.

These targets are decently tricky to find, and sometimes glitchy to interact with, so navigating through this task can be tough. If you're struggling to get this one done, here's how to hit hero practice targets at different hero training outposts in Fortnite.

Hit hero practice targets at different hero training outposts in Fortnite

Screenshot by Destructoid

To complete the hit hero practice targets at different hero training outposts quest in Fortnite, you need to hit three practice targets hero training outpost locations. There's only one target at each outpost, so you have to visit three unique outposts to get this task done.

Each hero practice target is a small white object with two blue targets sticking out of it. It's fairly small, but generally easy to spot since there's always a white diamond icon with an exclamation point marking it.

You can strike the targets using any kind of weapon you like. This includes your Pickaxe and all weapons in Chapter Six, season three. Hitting the target is easy enough, but finding the right spots to tackle this quest can be trickier.

All hero training outpost locations in Fortnite

There are five hero training outposts you can visit around the island, all of which are mostly situated near the upper northeast end of the map. You only need to venture to three for this quest, but knowing all of the available options makes plotting your course for this task much easier.

Each hero training outpost is a small area marked by an underground bunker. They're not super obvious from afar, so it can be a bit tough to spot the right location until you're close to each one. The five hero training outposts can be found:

  • East of the Resistance Base.
  • Slightly south of Supernova Academy.
  • North of Shining Span.
  • East of Utopia City.
  • Slightly south of Foxy Floodgate.

Hit hero practice targets not working in Fortnite

The hero practice targets are quite buggy, and you may run into several issues while trying to finish this quest. The most common issues reported on Reddit and experienced by us as we worked on this task are the targets not appearing where they're supposed to be or not spinning when you hit them, thus not counting for the quest.

There's currently no easy way to combat these issues, but when I experienced them, I found that trying again in later matches worked. Sometimes the targets appeared and could be hit right away, but other times they were invisible or couldn't be hit. Keep trying to visit these spots until you manage to get it done.

If you just can't get this quest to progress no matter what you do, you may need to wait for the devs to auto-complete it. When quests have issues, the devs usually eventually auto-complete them for all players. Some of the past story quests in the Trials of Morgan Myst, like copying the actions of Morgan Myst's shadow proxies, were glitchy and ended up being auto-completed for all players, so there's a decent chance this one will be too.

Player interacting with capybara in PEAK's ALPINE Zone

The Yellow Winterberry is one of the most elusive items in PEAK, but you can find this fruit item quite easily if you're at the correct spot.

This fruit has a strong in-game effect, which is why you'll want to find it on your adventures. Consuming the berry is also tied to another in-game achievement, adding another good reason as to why you should seek it out. So here's how to find the Yellow Winterberry.

How to get the Yellow Winterberry in PEAK

The Yellow Winterberry resembles the orange one, but the two fruits differ. The Orange Winterberry is easier to find and can be found in different trees. There are some reports of people getting the Yellow variant on the game's official Discord, but the information is yet to be verified (so we are discarding the theory).

The easiest way to get the Yellow Winterberry is to find the capybaras. Yes, these darlings of the animal world are also in PEAK, and you can find them in the ALPINE biome. Their location varies daily when a new island sets in, so you must discover the exact spot.

The easiest way to trace the capybara is to find a trail of smoke rising in the air. The smoke can be located once you begin your ascent. If you're on the SHORE, the smoke can't be seen. You'll have to begin your ascent and scale a bit of the island. The ALPINE biome is well above sea level, requiring a bit of a journey. However, don't overshoot past the point, as you won't be able to return on many occasions.

Once you find the capybara, the berries will be on/around them, and you're guaranteed to find two in the location. This is the best way to go scouting for the Yellow Winterberry, which is one of the four items you'll need to complete the Gourmand Badge. This badge requires you to cook and eat four different items before escaping the island, and one of them is the elusive Yellow Winterberry.

If you're confused about finding the capybara since their location shifts and switches, the game's Discord is the best place. You can add fellow members to the #spoilers channel, and they will be more than happy to help you. Playing the Bugle (the one you find in the crashed plane) can be used to complete the Animal Serenading Badge once you find the capybaras. Just play the Bugle, which will complete the achievement, unlocking a unique capybara-themed cap for your character.

Peak compass in hand

When you begin your journey on a new map in PEAK, one of the first items you'll encounter is the compass. While there are several compass types in the game, this initial spawn one raises the most questions, specifically over its usefulness.

What does the Compass do in PEAK?

In PEAK, the only purpose of the compass you find at spawn is to help you figure out which direction you're going, so you don't get lost while climbing. If you use it at spawn, you'll notice that the mountain is directly north of you, making it easier to reorient yourself if you run toward some luggage or fall a few ledges and need to figure out where you landed.

Peak compass on the ground
Screenshot by Destructoid

Aside from this, the compass isn't particularly helpful in collecting badges, progressing through later levels, or unlocking secrets. Its sole purpose is to point you in the right direction, making it easier to get your bearings when you first start your PEAK playthrough. That way, if you're unsure where you're supposed to go, you'll know to head north until you see a large mountain to climb.

You can also use the compass to help a friend navigate back to the group if they get sidetracked. For example, if you started to veer east but someone had to climb west to collect luggage, it'll be easier to guide them back to where you are by describing your directions. Overall, though, it isn't worth taking up valuable inventory space and carrying capacity.

All Compass types and uses in PEAK

Although the compass you find at spawn isn't too useful, that doesn't mean you should ignore every type you spot. Some are very handy, depending on how you use them. Here's a list of every compass you can obtain in PEAK and their purposes:

Compass type Use How to find
Compass Points in the direction you're looking relative to north. Inside a crashed plane section at spawn.
Pirate's Compass Points toward the nearest closed luggage bag. Very rare spawn inside luggage.
Warp Compass Teleports you to a random player. Search near campfires and statues after climbing to the top of a level's mountain.

At the time of writing, the Warp Compass is bugged, causing it to teleport anyone using it under the map. Landfall and Aggro Crab subsequently removed it temporarily, but if this issue is patched, it can help you return to one of your groupmates with the press of a button.

The Pirate's Compass, on the other hand, makes searching for luggage bags much easier. If you're struggling to find food, rope, or other resources, using this compass to search for a few bags can easily save your run.

Death Stranding 2 open world

It appears we have another game of the year candidate on our hands.

Step aside Expedition 33, Kingdom Come 2, and Blue Prince. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has arrived on the scene to glowing reviews and entered itself into the 2025 GOTY discussion, with many calling this director Hideo Kojima's best work.

With 94 critic reviews, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach boasts a 90 Metascore on Metacritic. Reviews are mentioning that the game is a vast improvement on the original from a gameplay perspective, but that the story work may be some of Kojima's best, along with stunning visuals on PS5 Pro to bring it all together.

"While I'm playing Death Stranding 2, I realize I am witnessing Kojima and his studio, Kojima Productions, at the peak of their powers, creating blockbuster popular art that challenges its audiences with enigmatic, often inscrutable storytelling," Washington Post writer Gene Park said in his review. "This time, Kojima and longtime co-writers Kenji Yano and Shuyo Murata have written the cleanest, most complete narrative since Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater."

"Even after putting 50 hours into the game – which involved a hefty number of side missions, but not even close to all of them – and seeing the credits roll, I'm eager to continue playing," said ScreenRant's Kyle Gratton. "The wide range of tools at your disposal makes delivering cargo in Death Stranding 2 satisfying in a way that no other game is. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is emotional and fascinating from the outset, and it's a journey I will continue to cherish as an improvement on what was already one of my favorite video games."

I was a huge fan of the original game, regardless of the "walking simulator" accusations, so I will be playing this ASAP and likely adding it to my list of discussion for game of the year. I do think Expedition 33 will be tough to beat, but if anyone can surpass it, it's a wild mind like Kojima.

And so I now ask you, dear reader, will you be playing Death Stranding 2: On the Beach to kick off your 2025 summer?

Three operators look out of a plane for the Warzone Verdansk return drop in

If you've been playing Call of Duty: Warzone lately and found an item called a Red Access Card or Blue Access Card, it's hard to blame you for being confused.

The game doesn't explain what these items are used for. But once acquired, these cards can be used to obtain high-quality loot, so they're worth figuring out and locating to equip yourself for victory. This is a throwback to the original Verdansk map back in 2020, and they're back now with several ways to enter them.

We've got you covered with all the info you need below on Blue Access Cards, Red Access Cards, and all of Verdansk's bunker locations and how to get into them, even the mysterious Bunker Zero.

Warzone Verdansk bunker locations and codes

Each of the bunkers found around Verdansk has a number printed on the outside of its main door that you enter from. The above map shows all of the bunker locations, which number they are, and we've color-coded them to explain how to open them.

Once you've got a Red Access Card or Blue Access Card, you can use it to enter specific bunkers around the map. Some bunkers take a red card, while others take a blue, and others need specific codes to enter on a number pad to get inside.

Once in-game, it's great to know where these bunkers can be found when you have a Red Access Card or Blue Access Card, or to have a code on-hand to enter other bunkers that need a code to get in so you can get inside for some good, free, high tier loot to set you on your way as you chase down victories in BR.

The red numbered bunkers use a Red Access Card, the blue numbers use a Blue Access Card, and the yellow numbers need codes to open. The final bunker, bunker 11, requires an Easter Egg-like quest to unlock, but they all have the same randomized loot within.

Warzone Blue Access Card bunkers in Verdansk

Bunkers 2, 7, and 8 in Verdansk can be opened with Blue Access Cards.

Bunker 2 is found west of Storage Town, while Bunkers 7 and 8 are east of TV Station.

Warzone Red Access Card bunkers in Verdansk

Bunkers 4, 5, 6, and 9 in Verdansk can be opened with Red Access Cards.

Bunker 4 is near the Dam, Bunker 5 is near the Military Base, Bunker 6 is close to the Quarry at the edge of the map, and Bunker 9 is slightly northeast of the Prison.

Warzone Verdansk bunker codes in 2025

The bunker codes have changed in Warzone since the return of Verdansk in BO6. Here's what the updated bunker codes are as of season three of BO6:

  • Bunker 0: 01011000
  • Bunker 1: 04222021
  • Bunker 3: 30198805
  • Bunker 10: 31547206

Use these codes and keep them handy whenever you find yourself in the area of one of them so you can get some free loot to help you in your Warzone battles.

PEAK characters climbing around in the Tropics

One of the first decisions you need to make before playing PEAK is deciding whether to launch it using Vulkan or DX12. What are these two options? Is one better than the other? What if you start crashing or having graphical issues because of them?

Several factors can influence which option you pick, which is why we're here to help. Let's dive into whether you should play PEAK using Vulkan or DirectX 12.

Should you play PEAK using Vulkan or DirectX 12?

DirectX 12, also known as DX12, is the overall better option of the two. If you have a mid- to high-end PC that can run PEAK without any significant crashing or stuttering issues, DirectX 12 will typically be the best option for the most stable experience possible. However, if you have an older system that experiences choppy frame rates, switching to Vulkan can help resolve this issue.

There's more to this than just picking one or the other, though. For most PC builds, DX12 will provide a more stable overall experience for any game. However, if you find that you're repeatedly crashing, noticing high CPU usage, or encountering graphics problems, switching to Vulkan can help. Similarly, if you typically use Vulkan for other games but experience crashes while playing PEAK, swapping to DX12 may help.

Peak Vulkan and DX 12 options
Screenshot by Destructoid

If you're playing with friends, you'll also want to make sure you're using the same launch option as them. In rare instances, having someone use Vulkan and others use DX12, or vice versa, can cause voice chat-related issues to appear, making it much harder to communicate. If you know someone who can't run PEAK unless they use a specific launch option, switching over will usually resolve this issue, even if it slightly affects your game's performance.

Landfall and Aggro Crab are also continuously patching bugs and implementing balance patches, especially right after PEAK's launch. If you experience performance issues around this time, there's a chance an update will be released in the future that resolves them, making it easier to decide whether to use DX12 or Vulkan. Unfortunately, this also means that one option that worked in the past may stop working if a patch introduces unexpected errors. In these cases, swapping to the one you weren't using before can be a quick and easy fix until Landfall and Aggro Crab resolve the issue.

PEAK gameplay in a volcano

It seems like every few months, a small indie game releases that takes Steam by storm. PEAK is the latest one of these surprise titles.

PEAK is a co-op climbing game where you and your friends must work together to scale a massive mountain at the center of the island where you have gotten lost. You can grab your friends or launch them to heights to continue your progress, but progress is easily lost.

If you fall in PEAK, you have to continue climbing from where you ended up, similar to games like Getting Over It. Naturally, this is made way easier with checkpoints or game saves, but does PEAK have such a feature?

Here's everything there is to know about saving progress and checkpoints in PEAK.

How to save progress in PEAK

PEAK climbing gameplay co-op screenshot
Image via Landfall Games

There is no way to save your progress in PEAK. Each game of PEAK must be played through to completion, because every time you start a new round, you start from the beginning. Yeah, this game's hardcore.

The lack of a way to save progress may scare away many players, especially when you don't have a lot of time to play. The inability to jump back in where you were is a bummer, but it's also a big part of the appeal of a game like this.

Know that when you're playing PEAK with friends, you need to lock in. If you lose progress or fall to the beginning, you have to start all over again, and there is no way to save a checkpoint when you reach a new height. It's one-and-done, meaning you need to finish the game you started, or have to begin anew in another session.

Not only that, but all of the items are randomized in each session and the map itself transforms and changes every 24 hours, so no two runs will ever be the same.

Does PEAK have auto-save?

Image via Landfall Games

No, there is also no auto-save feature in PEAK, which means there are no checkpoints and there is no way to resume your progress after quitting the game. While some games may have a quiet or unnoticeable auto-save feature as you play, that is entirely missing in PEAK.

It's always possible that an auto-save or checkpoint feature could be added to PEAK via an update at a later date. If that's something you want, make sure to let the developers know in a constructive way. Otherwise, clear your schedule, grab your pals, and get ready to reach the PEAK or fail trying.

I would also recommend checking out our Anime Run Kingdom tier list and Codes. Along with the Trello and Discord it's everything you need to become pro at the game.

Speaking of Trello, the ARK Trello has it all and acts as a Wiki for the game. You can find all the general info as well as more specific info like unit stats. It's got info cards for:

  • All Units, their stats, abilities, evolutions and how to get them.
  • All Artifacts
  • All Traits
  • All Bonds and unit lists
  • Each BattlePass level
  • All Events
  • Tier Lists
  • Game Modes and details
  • All Runes

Once you're done checking it out I also recommend joining the Discord. That's where you can talk to both experienced community members for more specific info and the Devs if you want to make suggestions or report bugs. It's also a place to stay in touch with the latest announcements, updates, and patch logs. Every TD always has balance tweaks, buffs, nerfs, and reworks that are worth keeping track of.

Last but not least, you can get a free reward in addition to the Codes by liking and favoriting the game as well as joining the group. Then you can visit the free reward station in the game and claim your prize. That along with the Codes is a nice starting off boost to spin for some beginner units.

That's it for my Anime Run Kingdom Trello and Discord guide. Stay tuned to our Roblox page for more guides like this one.
