The funny thing about games is that while making them, if you put something in them, it's quite hard to take that thing back out again. Who knows what that might break! Which can of course lead to people finding things that were never meant to be seen, like cut parts of a game, which is pretty much exactly what has happened to Resident Evil 4 Remake through the discovery of a level all about Ashley.

Gloomwood opened the year not with a whimper, but with a town - a Hightown! Right on January 1st, a fresh update and new area (The Hightown District) arrived in the early access stealth game. This new district is very vaguely described as the game's "most vertical open area" yet, and it certainly looks as suitably gloomy as the rest of the game.

When a game like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 rocks up, rakes in a bunch of success and critical acclaim, alongside the top game of the year prize at Geoffie's Lil Night of Ads, there will be certain expectations of what's next. But whatever more ends up being for developer Sandfall Interactive, the team is trying to make sure they don't just bow down to what people want from them.

The best puzzle games are often the ones where the thing you actually do is dead simple, with the challenge coming from an intricately woven path of twists and turns on doing said thing. Like, for example, Baba is You. You (Baba) are a rabbity thing that pushes wordy blocks around, changing the very fabric of reality as you (Baba) do so. And here we are, with one last big update for the game.

Princess Maker: Children of Revelation Development Continues

Back in September 2025, D-Zard announced a transfer that would result in an external company working on Princess Maker: Children of Revelation, following the company getting the license from Gainax to create a new game and release it in early access. Now over three months later on January 2, 2026, the company confirmed via Steam that it is in development with Gear2 at the helm and will release in 2026. This comes after the Gainax bankruptcy proceedings ended and that studio shut down.

D-Zard did note that the move to Gear2 does mean that all save files will be affected by the transition. It did note that things tied to the account as a whole, like Fate Cards and the Collection elements, could potentially still remain after upcoming updates. However, the official release will not support any save files made with earlier builds of the game.

No updated road map appeared for the game in this latest update. D-Zard only noted the goal is to release the 1.0 build in the first half of 2026. It did note that some of the elements being prioritized are the Harvest Festival, events, and exploration areas.

This latest Princess Maker game entered early access in July 2025. It involves raising a character from a child to an adult over an eight year period, deciding where they go to school and work, who they befriend, and where they go. Depending on the choices, different endings could be reached showing the character in different professions or with possible partners.

Princess Maker: Children of Revelation is in early access on PCs and is expected to launch in the first half of 2026.

Kagurabachi and My Hero Academia Creators Joint Interview Released

Shueisha released an official joint Takeru Hokazono × Kohei Horikoshi interview going over both creators thoughts on Kagurabachi and My Hero Academia. It is available in English and Japanese on the official site. In addition to talking about their own starts and inspirations, such as Naruto and Luffy from One Piece, they discussed each others' manga series now that My Hero Academia ended and volume 5 of Kagurabachi is available worldwide.

The Kagurabachi and My Hero Academia interview began with Takeru Hokazono and Kohei Horikoshi discussing how they got started making manga. Horikoshi cited enjoying drawing and "copying Goku from Dragon Ball or drawing my own original Super Saiyans." He then noted he got the Tezuka Award honorable mention for Nukegara with Masahi Kishimoto as a judge. Hokazono noted En Ten was his first work and was a Tezuka Award runner-up when Horikoshi was a judge. Both started seriously working as mangaka in college.

Both mangaka discussed their inspirations and series they admired throughout the interview. Kohei Horikoshi, in addition to mentioned Dragon Ball, brought up One Piece. He noted, "When I started planning My Hero Academia, the serialization of my second work, Barrage, had just ended. Up until then, I had an admiration for Luffy from One Piece, and I really felt that I had to create a character like him. But after my own works ended serialization twice, I finally realized that there isn't a like Luffy within me. So, I decided to once again search for a protagonist that would be easy for me to depict. In the end, the main character in My Hero, which I'd previously drawn as a one-shot, suited my nature. Meanwhile, Takeru Hokazono mentioned, "Whenever I talk about My Hero Academia, Horikoshi-sensei says something like, "There's no way you like it." (laughs). It's true that Naruto had a great influence on me, but I also love My Hero Academia.

In the second part of the interview, the two creators discussed each others' works. This started with Hokazono talking about My Hero Academia. He noted, "What I find most impressive is how the storytelling aligns with the reader's emotions." He also cited Mirio as his favorite character and said he considered My Hero Academia volume 17 to be the best one. Meanwhile, Horikoshi noted, "…Kagurabachi is a work which has been able to keep the author's personal sense of what is cool at the forefront, which I think is awesome." He said Hakuri is his favorite character in the series.

My Hero Academia is over now, with the full series on Crunchyroll and Viz Media behind the manga. My Hero Academia: Vigilantes season 2 is now running and is on Crunchyroll with the first season. Kagurabachi is still running and Viz Media handles it.

Doko Demo Issyo PocketStation Keychains Head to Japan

Bandai Namco updated its lineup of upcoming Gashapon items, and capsule machines will stock PocketStation keychains with Doko Demo Issyo imagery and game references on the screen. Each one is a replica of either the transparent or white peripheral and memory card. Each try will cost 400円 (~$3). They are expected to launch in Japan the week of January 25, 2026. Since Bandai Namco does maintain Gashapon kiosks worldwide and past PlayStation items such as the past controller ones did appear in the US and Canada, these could eventually appear in other regions.

There are nine possible designs someone can get in this keychain collection Five of them feature white PocketStations with characters and scenes that would come up from the Doko Demo Issyo game on them. Four are transparent ones. Each one's bottom part can flip up to reveal the "memory card" element below. The white designs feature three with Toro, one with Pierre Yamamoto, and one with R. Suzuki. The transparent ones involve two with Toro, one with Jun Mihara, and one with Ricky.

Here's how all nine will look. Each has a ball-chain keychain at the top.

This isn't the only recent PocketStation and Doko Demo Issyo revival. Bandai Namco and Sony teamed up for a plush replica of the peripheral. That appeared in Banpresto Crane Games as a prize in Japan in October 2025.

The Doko Demo Issyo PocketStation keychains will appear in Bandai Namco Gashapon machines in Japan the week of January 25, 2026. It's unknown when or if we'll see them worldwide.

Toshiyuki Itahana Left Square Enix After Final Fantasy IX Project

Toshiyuki Itahana, a member of Square Enix who worked on Final Fantasy IX, Mobius Final Fantasy, and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles as a character designer, contributed art for FFXIV, and worked on Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers as a director, announced he left Square Enix. He announced his time with the company ended after the FFIX 25th Anniversary Project. He currently described himself as "a freelance illustrator."

Itahana specifically noted the idea of departing Square Enix came up as he contributed to the Final Fantasy IX 25th Anniversary Project, as new character art from the artist appeared online and was used on new FFIX merchandise. Among those were new acrylic stands of the cast. Square Enix shared a number of these pieces on social media. He noted, "…I felt this was the right moment to draw a line under this chapter and take on new challenges. From here on, I will be working as a freelance illustrator and character designer.

While remaining deeply grateful for all the connections I've been fortunate to receive through my work so far, I hope to draw upon my experience and continue creating a wide variety of new artwork."

Here are some pieces of Final Fantasy IX character art Toshiyuki Itahana created for the FFIX 25th Anniversary Project:

Another design Itahana worked on, as of late, involved art for Sphene in FFXIV. He noted that the Dawntrail character's outfits were both based on Garnet (Dagger) from FFIX

Toshiyuki Itahana is now a freelance illustrator and no longer with Square Enix.

Classifieds Magazine in My Winter Car

The Classifieds Magazine in My Winter Car can be immensely useful if you're looking to buy different parts.

The Corris Rivett is available as the first buildable project, and it has plenty of parts for you to build. Some of the parts can be pretty expensive, and that's where the Classifieds Magazine comes in. You can use its advertorials to get used parts that cost half of their new counterparts.

How to get used parts in My Winter Car

The first task is to get a Classifieds Magazine to access the advertorial section. This section has a bunch of second-hand parts on offer for you to buy. You can also obtain new parts that might appear at random. You'll find an applicable phone number associate with these parts.

The next task is to go home and call the number. Wait for the call to disconnect. If the item is available, your order has been placed. Wait for a couple of in-game days for the part you ordered to arrive. Once you have ordered a specific part, you can't repeat the process with the magazine.

The parts you're looking for might not be listed on the classifieds. If that happens, wait for the weekly refresh to get new offers. You'll, however, need to buy a new Classifieds Magazine to go through the new adverts.

Additionally, you can also sell the parts that you bought from the Flea market. This is immensely useful if you accidentally end up getting a part that you might not want to fit into the Corris Rivett.

Buying a Classifieds Magazine is really simple. You'll need to visit the PSK Fuel Station and spend 15 mk. Getting the magazine is necessary to view the adverts. Make sure to get a new one after the weekly reset to find out all the new stuff that might be on offer.

An image of an ARC Circuitry piece in ARC Raiders.

ARC Circuitry is one of the most crucial components you'll need to find on the surface in ARC Raiders.

It's important for crafting, upgrading, and generally progressing through the game, though luckily, it's found in many places and obtained by several means.

So, here's how you can get your hands on it.

Where to find ARC Circuitry in ARC Raiders

Bastion in ARC Raiders
Any ARC on any map and location can drop ARC Circuitry. Image via ARC Raiders Wiki

ARC Circuitry can be obtained by crafting, looting, or dismantling, i.e., just about any way available in the game.

When it comes to looting, you'll have the best chances to find it in downed ARCs you yourself have shot down. It does have a chance to appear in Probes, Couriers, and ARC wreckages, but that sometimes can yield damaged ARC circuitry, which you wouldn't want.

Therefore, any map works in any place, so long as it has an ARC. The easiest ARCs are thus the best targets, given how easily they can go down and blow up. Ticks, Wasps, and Hornets are ideal targets in this case and have a good chance to drop ARC Circuitry here and there.

On the other hand, ARC Circuitry can be crafted in Refiner 2 at the cost of eight ARC Alloy. The latter can also be dropped by the same ARCs we've mentioned before or dismantled from other loot, so you should have enough at all times to make more of the former.

Lastly, ARC Circuitry can be procured by dismantling items made with it, including the Heavy and Medium Shields, the Deadline explosive, and Power Rods. Each of these yields one to two ARC Circuitry, so if you aren't fond of them, you can still salvage this important component.

An image of EA FC 25 Pro Open Mystery Nation

A new FC 26 Pro Open Mystery Nation objective is now live in Ultimate Team. Solving the objective will help you get some freebies to boost your grind ahead of the TOTY promo that's expected in the middle of this month.

This guide will help you get to the mystery nation as quickly as possible. Typically, EA Sports will be dropping hints about the mystery nation. Knowing it is paramount if you're looking to complete the objective. This guide will reveal the mystery nation as quickly as possible (I am expecting the community to crack it early).

Disclaimer: Mystery nation has been decoded, and it's Norway.

How to complete Pro Open Mystery Nation (Matchday 5) objective in FC 26

Here's the official description of the Mystery Nation objective for Matchday 5.

Score 3 goals using a Finesse Shot with a player from the mystery nation in any Ultimate Team game mode. The name of the nation will be hinted at during the broadcast of FC Pro Open Matchday 5.

The first task is to decode the mystery nation. EA Sports will eventually reveal it on the livestream, but the community has cracked it first. For this week, it's Norway.

Once the nation is discovered, the next task is to use a card from the same country (Norway). You have to score three goals with a Finesse Shot to complete the objective and unlock the rewards. You can complete the task across any Ultimate Team mode. You can also complete the requirement of three goals across multiple games.

Here's the list of rewards you'll obtain by solving the objective.

  • Coin Boost
  • One untradeable Premium Electrum Players Pack

The pack is pretty decent in terms of what it offers. You can also choose to save it for the upcoming Team of the Year promo that goes live in January. This pack will always offer a chance to get one of the TOTY cards (with minimal odds).
