PCGamesN Monday, November 7, 2022 11:57 AM With the best SP-R 208 loadout for Modern Warfare 2 we're not quite back to the glory days of quickscoping, but it's getting pretty close. While there are plenty of ways to trim the best sniper rifles in Modern Warfare 2 back to their barest forms, we're keeping the long-range scope on our build so it can be used effectively at all ranges. Unless we get a Kar-98k, or something similar, when the Season 1 release date rolls around, this is the best alternative in the FPS game right now. So, exactly why are Modern Warfare 2 SP-R 208 loadouts so popular right now? The marksman rifle is one of the earliest you unlock in the game, but it's also mighty right out of the box: good iron sights, one-shot kill to the upper body at most ranges, and very fast ADS speeds for a bolt-action rifle. Provided you can land your shots, it's easily one of the best guns in Modern Warfare 2. PCGamesN Monday, November 7, 2022 11:48 AM Nvidia has recently found itself in hot water following controversies surrounding its GeForce RTX 4090 power adapter, the design of which appears to be prone to getting rather warm… to the point of melting both itself and the GPU's power input. While this issue appeared to be limited to team green's bundled cables, the problem may unfortunately be more widespread. PCGamesN Monday, November 7, 2022 11:30 AM The Sonic Frontiers reviews are in, and Sega's latest appears to be somewhat divisive as the hedgehog goes for a full on open-world game for the first time. All these Sonic Frontiers reviews are a big moment for the blue blur, as the core gameplay has moved from 2D to 3D to boost the formula, and now to open-world, which the series will apparently adopt for years going forward. |
PCGamesN Monday, November 7, 2022 11:17 AM Want a roundup of the latest Diablo 4 release date speculation and news? Announced during BlizzCon 2019, the upcoming entry in the demon-slaying action RPG game series has had many different teasers and trailers. These have showcased the various Diablo 4 classes we can use to take on the hordes of monsters that block the way between the horned lord of the underworld and us. The roster of playable classes includes transforming druids, spell-flinging wizards, and somersaulting rogues. Each class has unique combat skills to weave through every shambling zombie, skittering demon, and colossal terror that awaits you in these dank, hallowed halls. So far, so familiar, but that's hardly going to upset the series' devoted fans. However, despite a relatively open development process, prospective players have been left to speculate when the Diablo 4 release date might be. PCGamesN Monday, November 7, 2022 10:49 AM The Minecraft tuff golem was sadly not destined to be added to the sandbox game, losing out to the weirdly-named Sniffer in the 2022 Minecraft Live mob vote. The annual mob vote is easily one of the most hotly anticipated features of the Minecraft Live broadcast, alongside the announcement of the next big Minecraft update. Three mobs go up for vote, and two are forgotten about, sadly never to see the light of day - of which the tuff golem is now one. During the 2022 livestream, another Minecraft mob was revealed, the Camel, as well as some other features we can expect from the 1.20 Minecraft update in 2023. But while there were some fantastic announcements during Minecraft Live 2022, the tuff golem was not one of them, coming out dead last in the vote. Here's why. PCGamesN Monday, November 7, 2022 10:27 AM The Minecraft rascal was one of two mobs who lost out in the Minecraft Live mob vote 2022. Minecraft is renowned as a community-focussed game in a lot of ways, and each year, Mojang Studios creates three new Minecraft mob designs, letting the decision of which should be added to the game fall on the fans. In 2022, the Rascal went up against the tuff golem and the sniffer. While the adorable Minecraft Sniffer beat out the cheeky, underground-dwelling rascal, it was a close second, with the golem coming in last. So what would the rascal have been had it have come out on top? RELATED LINKS: Minecraft console commands, Minecraft skins, Minecraft mods |

PCGamesN Monday, November 7, 2022 9:41 AM Want to know about Valorant ranks and how the ranking system works? Like all competitive FPS games, Riot's Valorant has an ascending ladder of titles to sort the player base by ability. Whether you're starting out as a lowly Iron or maintaining your dominance as a mighty Immortal, if you play Valorant competitively your life is governed by the ranking system. Valorant has a couple of different ways it measures ranking progress and the overall rating of players against each other. Each player has an overall Valorant rank, but there's also a dedicated 'Act rank' for each act. On top of that, there's also a concept called 'rank rating', which is connected to MMR. Here is everything you need to know about Valorant ranks, the current rank distribution, and competitive play. PCGamesN Monday, November 7, 2022 9:20 AM Diving into the Mountain Everest Max review changed my opinion of what a gaming keyboard should be, standing out from the crowd with an unparalleled level of customisation. The complete package is nothing short of a Twitch streamer's dream, baking elements of the Elgato Stream Deck into its DNA. The best part, however, is that while the Everest Max sits at the peak of the Mountain range, its modularity creates an increasingly affordable pathway for those that find the full whack a bit too pricey. PCGamesN Monday, November 7, 2022 7:52 AM Back in the day, if you got a Modern Warfare 2 nuke, you were the envy of all your friends and foes alike. It required 25 kills without dying, so it was arguably the biggest flex you could pull on everyone else in your lobby in the multiplayer game. As it turns out, nukes are back in the 2022 version of the FPS game, but they're instead known as mass guided bombs, or MGB for short. Just like before, when you earn an MGB killstreak, it ends the match and your team wins. There's a ten-second countdown warning everyone in the match that the game will be finishing early, and if you look to the sky, you can see the slow moving plane drop the bombs towards the ground. Compared to the last Modern Warfare, completing camo challenges in Modern Warfare 2 is actually much easier. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Monday, November 7, 2022 10:30 AM Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer - not including Warzone 2.0 - brings out the best of COD's excellent gunplay on an array of colourful maps that largely deliver. And it tones down the pace of movement too, making for a measured experience that certainly rewards speed, but doesn't make it an athletics competition. And while the game's multiplayer is a slick refinement of what's come before, its gun unlock process is messy and excessive, even if it offers plenty of options for all types of player. Oh, and make sure you've got the game installed on an SSD... |

Siliconera Monday, November 7, 2022 10:00 AM KLab, developer of Bleach: Brave Souls, announced it acquired the rights to create a new online game based on My Hero Academia. It received the rights from the series' production committee. The rights apply to a full global release, with the exception of mainland China. This effectively confirms that KLab's MHA online game could eventually see wider release, whenever it does show up. [Thanks, 4Gamer!] Exactly what that MHA online game will turn out to be, however, is unclear. KLab did not mention any concrete details about the game, its target platforms, or release window beyond noting it will be based on My Hero Academia. The company did say that it intends to use its know-how cultivated from operating other IP-based games to ensure an enjoyable experience for fans all over the world. KLab currently operates Bleach: Brave Souls, a free-to-play game available on Android and iOS devices, PCs, and PS4s. That game surpassed a milestone of 70 million total downloads in the seven years since its release. It also operates Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team and a game based on Love Live. It recently announced a blockchain-based game called Captain Tsubasa - Rivals -. The MHA game announcement did not mention if blockchain technology or NFTs are involved. Various other My Hero Academia games are currently operating under other publishers and developers. Bandai Namco is set to release a battle royal-style title, My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble. The latest pictures and insight show the concept art for it and discuss her hairstyle. In the tweet discussing the possible options, it first mentioned that the team had a lot of ideas. A Chocobo bikini and maid outfit were two mentioned. However, developers insisted that Tifa's hair be in buns should she wear the sporty cheongsam dress in FFVII Remake. Here's the black and white version of the dress' concept art. It allows the dress' leopard pattern and stockings' lace top to be seen more clearly. And this is the full-color version of Tifa in the cheongsam. Finally, here's Tifa in FFVII Remake wearing the sporty cheongsam dress. As a reminder, Square Enix announced merchandise of Tifa in her various dresses. One is a static figure, while the other is a Play Arts Kai posable one. Those will debut in July 2023. As a reminder, Tifa could wear three outfits to Don Corneo's mansion. In addition to the "sporty" cheongsam, there is an "exotic" kimono and a "mature" evening gown. Final Fantasy VII Remake is available for the PlayStation 4, while FFVII Remake Intergrade is out on the PlayStation 5 and PC. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will release for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on December 13, 2022. Siliconera Monday, November 7, 2022 9:15 AM There's a new hint that FFXVI will only temporarily be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, thanks to a "Play Like Never Before" PS5 trailer. Sony's video features a clip of the game at the 15 second mark. When footage is shown, it noted a six month exclusivity period. The video also confirmed a Summer 2023 launch window. [Thanks, Wario64!] Here's a screenshot from the Sony trailer that mentioned FFXVI is a PlayStation 5 exclusive for only six months. And here's the full trailer: As a reminder, FFXVI wouldn't be the only Square Enix Final Fantasy game to only be a temporary PlayStation exclusive. FFVII Remake was as well. Its period initially lasted a year. When it was about to launch, Square Enix noted it would only be on the PS4 until April 10, 2021. The PS5 FFVII Remake Intergrade version then debuted on June 10, 2021. It showed up on PCs shortly after on December 16, 2021. This comes after a number of other announcements related to the game. For example, details about the difficulty levels came up. A demo was also confirmed. Final Fantasy XVI will come to the PlayStation 5 in Summer 2023. We'll find out its release date in 2022. There's no exact release date yet. After it does launch, it could show up on other platforms after the six month exclusivity period is up. Siliconera Monday, November 7, 2022 9:00 AM Grilla is without a doubt one of the most important resources in Harvestella, mostly because that's the equivalent to your standard JRPG currency in the whimsical RPG-farming simulator hybrid. In order to reap the rewards of your harvest, you will need Grilla to buy seeds, upgrades to your humble farm, and even craft better weapons for your excursions into the world at large. This guide will be outlining some ways to consistently and quickly rake in Grilla in Harvestella. That said, there are a few avenues to acquire Grilla so don't feel locked in to any one method. And make sure to dedicate time to whatever method works best for you! Farming and FishingPerhaps the most straightforward way of obtaining Grilla is through farming and fishing. Farming is extremely straightforward, but there's a little more to it when min-maxing your profits. Crops will change mostly every season, so make sure to plan according for the upcoming harvest. For example, Carrops can be grown during Spring and Summer, but not in any other season. They also take only one day to grow, which can yield quick profits. But to truly benefit from your harvest, considering buying Cucumbles and every season's equivalent. Cucumbles may cost more, with each seed at 370 Grilla, but the crop can be harvested repeatedly for 200 Grilla a pop. And with each season lasting 30 days, you can quickly recoup the costs and have consistent profit coming in from your crops. The next method is fishing. You can obtain a fishing pole by purchasing Fishing Knowledge from the General Store for 800 Grilla. Grabbing this early on is ideal, since you can fish in a plethora of locations throughout the world. Your farm, for example, has a single fishing spot that can be used every day which makes for a great way to quickly make Grilla while exploring or just wanting to pass time. It also eats up a small amount of stamina, so it's perfect for those who have just started the game and don't have access to their kitchen yet. CookingAt a costly 2,000 Grilla investment, you can unlock cooking in Harvestella. It only takes a day after purchasing your kitchen for it to become accessible in your house, but it's more than worth it. Outside of providing a way to make filling food items that will help regenerate stamina, you can sell those cooked dishes for a pretty penny. It isn't the most profitable way to make a quick buck, but if you have access to ingredients on hand, you can quickly make food and sell them alongside your usual choice of crops or fish. Just remember that cooking meals does make time pass a fair amount if you're whipping up more than one dish. So if you're looking to make the most out of your time farming and fishing will be your best bet. ExplorationDungeons and other areas are available to explore in Harvestella. These areas not only allow you to sometimes pick up valuable cooking ingredients and random seed drops, but enemies can drop items that can be sold for Grilla. This isn't as consistent as farming for example, but is all part of min-maxing since you'll want to head out and fight monsters while you're waiting for your crops to yield valuable produce. So don't forget to leave your farm and explore the great yonder if you have the time! Harvestella is available for Nintendo Switch and Windows PC. Siliconera Monday, November 7, 2022 8:30 AM Square Enix revealed more about Crisis Core FFVII Reunion's UI, Materia, and gameplay systems. Via the FFVII Remake Twitter account, the company showed off some of the updated menu design going into the game. It also detailed more about the game's Materia system. Here's a closer look at the screenshot. The new Crisis Core FFVII Reunion user interface takes more directly after the aesthetic style and layout used in Final Fantasy VII Remake. It also takes advantage of the extra screen space afforded by home consoles. Artwork of the character is more prominent too. One holdover is the visible Shinra company logo, though, as a reminder of the context of the adventure. Players can also sort and filter materia by their color and type, as well as see their statistical gains at a glance. Check out a screenshot from the PSP version's menu below, for comparison. Earlier posts about the user interface in Crisis Core FFVII Reunion highlighted some of the changes to controls enabled by using a traditional console gamepad layout. On the PSP, players didn't have access to a second analog stick, limiting some of the control options. Now that the game's on newer platforms, the camera can be controlled freely. A brief gameplay video posted on Friday highlighted the way this smooths out combat. https://twitter.com/FFVIIR_CLOUD/status/1588471116984717312 The Crisis Core FFVII Reunion Materia system will work similarly to the original game's. Various Materia will unlock different abilities to use in combat, ranging from health-restoring spells to damaging magic. Passive boosts like additional HP are also available, as are new abilities, like a spinning sword attack. Materia Synthesis will also be useful for upgrading Materia and enhancing their effectiveness. Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch on December 13, 2022. Siliconera Monday, November 7, 2022 8:00 AM Prepare to experience Eorzea through the Warrior of Light's eyes. Team Flat2VR is working on an unofficial virtual reality mod for Square Enix's hit MMORPG. The Final Fantasy XIV VR mod promises to make the game compatible with various headsets. Flat2VR teased the mod's functionality in a tweet: https://twitter.com/flat2vr/status/1588665945278803968 The Final Fantasy XIV VR mod is being developed by modders Marulu and Streetrat, who helped create the Half-Life 2 VR mod. That mod altered Valve's 2004 shooter to allow free aiming and full "6 degrees of freedom" movement with VR headsets and motion tracking. The mod being developed for FFXIV promises similar functionality, including support for use with a first- and third-person camera and the use of motion controls. The trailer shows a player in a VR headset traveling around in the game. They view characters by tilting their head, and even appear to engage in some gameplay, visiting areas from the Heavensward expansion. The teaser shows a floating UI that appears in front of the player and shows their various abilities in the traditional PC-style hotbar arrangement. The Final Fantasy XIV VR mod is set to enter alpha testing soon. Details on what hardware it will support or its requirements have not been announced. It should also be noted that Square Enix stated repeatedly that it considers mods to be a violation of FFXIV's terms of service. Though it tends to turn a blind eye towards certain "quality of life" mods like data parsers and graphical tweaks, it has punished streamers caught using them publicly. In essence, mods and third-party tools are things to use at one's own risk, and the VR mod may well fall under that umbrella. Final Fantasy XIV is available on PS4, PS5, and PC, where it recently received its version 6.28 content patch. The post A Final Fantasy XIV VR Mod is in Development appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Monday, November 7, 2022 7:30 AM Sword Art Online's 10th anniversary event brought news of a brand-new Sword Art Online film project in the works. Aniplex also aired a brief teaser. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwhGSYeIJBs The Sword Art Online film project tease itself is very light on concrete information and does not even confirm if the project is animated. The terms used to describe it, though, are telling. They trumpet it as an "entirely new" and "original" feature film. It could even be a hint about a potential live-action production. In 2016, Skydance Media acquired the rights to produce a live action TV series adaptation of Sword Art Online. This framing could be a hint mean that, whatever the project turns out to be, it won't be connected to the animated Sword Art Online Progressive film adaptations. Of that series, two films have been released: Aria of a Starless Night and Scherzo of a Dark Dusk. Progressive tells a reimagined story of the original Aincrad arc, focusing in greater detail on the earlier adventures of Kirito, Asuna, and other key SAO cast members. One other Sword Art Online feature film exists, and it's the anime-original Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale. Ordinal Scale takes place between the second and third seasons of the anime series (i.e. between the "Phantom Bullet" arc and SAO: Alicization), and follows Kirito and the gang's encounters while playing with the Augma, an augmented-reality device that projects virtual images onto the real world (as opposed to the "full dive" VR they usually employed). The Sword Art Online anime series are available to view on various streaming and retail platforms. A new Sword Art Online game, Last Recollection is in development for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Siliconera Monday, November 7, 2022 7:00 AM A new Sword Art Online game is on the way. At Full Dive Continue, a livestream event celebrating the 10th anniversary of the anime, Bandai Namco and Kadokawa announced Sword Art Online: Last Recollection, an action-RPG and a follow-up to 2020's Alicization Lycoris. The game is targeted for release in 2023 on current consoles and PC. Check out the new Sword Art Online game teaser trailer below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qAdPY-e5ZI The Sword Art Online: Last Recollection teaser and official website lay out the premise, which adapts the "War of Underworld" story from the original novels and anime. As in the original story, the virtual environment of Underworld (where Kirito and his pals were trapped during the events of Alicization Lycoris) is on the verge of ruin. The gate between the Human Empire and the Dark Territory is breached, and "Final Load Test" -- a massive invasion intended to test the potential of the A.I. lifeforms living in Underworld -- begins. A new character, a dark knight known as Dorothy, escapes the Dark Territory with Sarai. Dorothy seeks to bring an end to her unchangeable fate, one that leads her to ask what the difference is between the world ending and her dying. Sword Art Online: Last Recollection will adapt the new events of War of Underworld to the unique, game-original timeline that's persisted through the various Sword Art Online game adaptations. It'll have the largest playable character roster in the franchise so far, and the largest number of story episodes. In addition to new original characters like Dorothy, the trailer and website features characters who played roles in the War for Underworld story, like Shuster (aka Shasta), Lipia, Iskahn, and Dil, leaders of the Dark Territory's armies. Singer ReoNa will once again provide the game's theme song. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, who voices Kirito in the anime and games, recorded a video message for fans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=on2USr_Xzvs The video featured Matsuoka explaining that the game timeline is different from that of the anime and novels, and that some of the events and characters are also different. Indeed, the taglines for Last Recollection promise that the story will be "new" and explore different outcomes (such as if characters like Kirito and Eugeo were present during events that they weren't there for in the original story). Sword Art Online: Last Recollection launches on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2023 in Japan. Overseas release plans have not yet been confirmed. The previous Sword Art Online game, Alicization Lycoris, arrived on Nintendo Switch in 2022, years after becoming available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. PC Invasion - FeedDDD Monday, November 7, 2022 11:45 AM Genshin Impact is one of the trendiest gacha games in the market, with stunning character designs and animations that remain popular two years after its launch. Yet as beautiful as the game can be at times, it is still a gacha game at heart and designed to suck money away from your wallet. Naturally, 5-star characters are the most desirable units to pull in the game, which also makes them the most challenging and potentially expensive characters to gain as well. However, Genshin Impact has a "pity system" that guarantees you will earn a 5-star character at a certain point — and here's how to check the counter. With the pity system, players will gain stacks towards this pity counter for every character they pull that is not a 5-star unit. A "soft pity" will hit at around 75 pulls, dramatically increasing the chances of earning a 5-star starting at this point. However, there is a hard cap at 90 pulls, guaranteeing you a shiny new 5-star unit when you r... |
PC Invasion - FeedDDD Monday, November 7, 2022 11:30 AM The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 launched with a long list of weapons and attachments up for grabs. The Fennec 45 is a relatively easy submachine gun to unlock, as you don't have to go through one of the many weapon trees to get it. All you have to do is reach military rank 38 and it's yours. As soon as you begin levelling up your Fennec 45, you'll unlock all the attachments you need to build the best class in Modern Warfare 2. The Fennec 45 is yet another weapon to make a return from previous iterations, along with the M4 assault rifle, the VEL 46, among others. The Fennec 45 has an impressive fire rate — one of the fastest of any weapon in the game. As a result, you'll be able to shred through the opposition, but its only effective at close range. Therefore, this class will improve accuracy, so you have more chance of getting a kill at medium range. At the same time, mobility will be improved so you can get up close and personal with the gun. If you want a new one to play, there's always an upcoming game lurking around the corner. The Unliving entered Early Access today, with a lot of necromancy and even more attacking, running, and dodging. With so many similar games on the market, you have to wonder – Is The Unliving worth it in Early Access? Unlike a lot of games, The Unliving doesn't have a set timeframe for when it'll leave Early Access. Instead, its developers are treating this version as the base version of the game. When it's done, it's done, but for now you can enjoy around 100 abilities and modifiers, three levels, three main bosses, and 18 enemies. Necromancy is central to the gameplay and narrative of The Unliving. Upon waking up in the game, your character is initially unsure of himself and his power. A mysterious voice goads you into remembering that you aren't just anyone: you're the Necromancer. This opening sequence i... |
