Get a first look at the huge new sim game blending Cities Skylines with Factorio

Most in-depth simulation games hone in on specific subjects or locations in order to keep their scope manageable. Cities Skylines and Sim City focus on urban centers. Microsoft Flight Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator 2, and Train Sim World each model types of vehicles. Worldwide Rush, though, takes a much broader approach to the genre, combining the globe-spanning scope of a game like Europa Universalis with the logistics management of something like Factorio or Satisfactory. It's also just launched a new demo showing off what that looks like in practice.

New medieval strategy game with hints of AoE is rated 95% on Steam already

The middle ages are well represented in strategy games, with some of the most celebrated entries to the genre including projects such as Manor Lords, Crusader Kings 3, Stronghold, and Age of Empires 2. There still seems to be plenty worth pulling from the era, though, if the launch of new Age of Empires and Total War Medieval 2-style RTS Knights of the Crusades is anything to go by. Launched on Monday, the new strategy game has already warranted solid user reviews, currently holding a 95% or 'Positive' rating on Steam.

Europa Universalis 5 impresses and overwhelms with big ideas, new and old

Strategy games aren't defined by polygon counts and ray-traced lighting, the regular markers of spectacle in most other videogame genres. A game like Dwarf Fortress can be spectacular with no graphical depictions of reality, because its spreadsheet simulation is so vast as to feel like a reality of its own. The long-awaited Europa Universalis 5 is spectacular, not because of its visual fidelity (though it has touches of beauty), but because of the sheer size and complexity of its simulation. At first blush, this early build of EU5 overwhelmed me. As I acclimated to it, I found an emotional and intense strategic challenge unlike anything else I've played. When it releases, Europa Universalis 5 will perhaps be the best way to experience the mathematical sublime on PC.

What are the best Metroidvania games? Nintendo's Super Metroid and Konami's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night popularized the Metroidvania, but the genre has come into its own since these inaugural titles.

While many of the best Metroidvanias try to recapture the spirit of their forebears, others expand into new territories by incorporating mechanics from RPGs, soulslikes, and even pinball. The result is a dynamic genre offering a wealth of familiar and fresh experiences - some recent, many of them cheap, and a few of them some of the best PC games ever made.

Minecraft mobs list - all new and existing monsters

Minecraft mobs are living entities in Minecraft. Short for mobile, these sometimes adorable, sometimes aggressive creatures roam the many biomes of the blocky universe. They will interact and respond to you, other players, and other mobs, whether that's a zombie literally knocking at your door or the chickens in your backyard coop.

Many aspects make Minecraft one of the best PC games of all time, and its creatures definitely help - be they mythical or real, hostile or friendly. Minecraft mobs are susceptible to the same physics and environmental changes that affect players, such as catching fire or drowning. They can be attacked and killed with weapons, and when killed, they drop resources and experience points, with hostile mobs dropping rarer items on occasion. So, while you can add other mobs with various Minecraft mods, here's every Minecraft mob available in the vanilla game right now - and announced for the future.

Half-Life 2 RTX ruined Ravenholm, but those big lighting problems just got fixed

It seems like rumors pointing to Half-Life 3's existence are reaching a new fever pitch lately, but, as has been the case for more than a decade now, it's probably better to focus your attention on games in the series that actually exist until an actual launch date is announced. For anyone looking for newer versions of those games, there have been projects like the series' VR iteration, Half-Life: Alyx, the first game's remaster as Black Mesa, and, most recently, a demo section of Half-Life 2 remastered under the title of Half-Life 2 RTX. The latter of these options, HL2 RTX, was fairly underwhelming when it came out in March, but now, as the result of a new update, one of its biggest problems has just been fixed.

Games on your old AMD Radeon GPU are about to look way better, according to leak

AMD is reportedly working on a way to bring its acclaimed FSR 4 upscaling tech to its older GPUs, such as the Radeon RX 7900 range. FSR 4 is currently exclusive to GPUs based on the RDNA 4 architecture, such as the AMD Radeon RX 9070, and it makes games look massively better than with older versions of FSR, thanks to its use of AI.

It isn't just the new AMD GPUs that contain AI hardware, though. Several of the best graphics card models from its older RDNA 3 lineup also contain matrix cores, which are analogous to Nvidia's Tensor cores, even if they're not as powerful. As I found in my AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT review, FSR 4 is a substantial upgrade over FSR 3, resulting in a sharp image with hardly any of the ghosting, blurriness, and horrible digital noise that's clearly visible in games when you use previous versions of FSR.

Nvidia just prevented me from testing the GeForce RTX 5060 before it comes out

I've just hit a big snag with my plan to test the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 next week, as it turns out I won't actually be able to publish a review of Team Jensen's new $299 graphics card before it comes out. That's because Nvidia has taken the extraordinary step not to issue the press with a pre-release driver. In fact, an Nvidia rep just told me that the first driver I'll be able to use is the public one that comes out on May 19, which is the GPU's launch day.

Nvidia hasn't given me its reasoning for the decision, but it looks like a big flag covered in bright red dye to me. Does Nvidia think gamers won't buy the new GPU on the RTX 5060 release date if they actually know how it performs? Has Nvidia realized that this 8GB GPU is likely to fall over in some of the latest games at top settings, making its $299 price look a bit silly? I genuinely can't think of a single good reason why you'd refuse to give the press a driver so they can test it before release.

GTA 6 release date, trailers, and latest Rockstar Games news

May 8, 2025: We added the latest news following GTA 6 trailer 2.

When is GTA 6 coming out? Given how many years it takes to create open worlds of the same caliber as GTA 5, it's no surprise that Rockstar Games has already spent years developing GTA 6. Rockstar prefers to keep its secrets close to its chest until close to the end of development, but Take-Two has now confirmed when exactly we can expect it to arrive.

The Grand Theft Auto 6 release date has certainly been a long time coming. Early gameplay leaks of GTA 6 surfaced online last year, along with lines of source code and development footage for the open-world game. There have been plenty of rumors and speculation surrounding the release date since then, but we finally have confirmation of the GTA 6 release date, story, and setting. Did you know that Stardew Valley is the 21st best-selling game of all time? It's sold more than Skyrim! At least by the numbers we currently have, anyway. I don't care all that much about sales figures, but if creator Eric Barone cared more about money, I can only imagine that a sequel would be all but guaranteed. As it turns out though, the developer could actually see himself making a sequel to the beloved farming sim.

I'm not sure if the words cosy and apocalypse are generally ones that go hand in hand together, but Doloc Town is positioning itself as just that. Specifically, it's a quite lovely looking pixel-art farming sim set in a post-apocalypse, and it just launched in early access today. Like in many farming sims before it, there's the usual thing of tending to and growing your crops, cooking them up, fishing, that sort of thing. Where it differs is it's all on a 2D plane, obviously meaning you'll have to think about space quite differently.

Helldivers 2 is, very obviously, a game where you roleplay as space fascists. Like, the game explicitly treats you as fodder for a war against various supposedly evil species all in the name of colonising other planets. It's not subtle! But it's also silly as hell, so the shooter more or less gets away with it. Arrowhead just announced a new warbond though, and I'll be honest: the new outfits are probably the most fascist looking yet.

Rather than trying to fill the hole left by the Rockstar colossus, it's playing things small with "a focused, linear experience that combines quality storytelling, authentic era immersion and a refined take on the familiar Mafia gameplay," according to Hangar 13 president Nick Baynes.

The horizon glows red. Europa Universalis 5 is posturing itself as the next grandaddy of grand strategy. It follows 12 years of updates and expansions to Europa Universalis 4, so it has some catching up to do. But much of the historical simulation is in place, along with new features and a fresh focus on the rowdy populations you'll be lording it over. Like its predecessors, Europa Universalis 5 will be a deeply complex game. I'm going to do my best to explain it.

Paradox have announced grand strategy game Europa Universalis 5, following some teasers last week. It's the next big entry in the series of complex globe-spanning historical simulations, and having played a little as the hapless ruler of Korea in the 14th century, I can confirm that it is so far as chunky, complicated, and deep as usual. The changes in this sequel won't look wild or revolutionary to a dabbler, but seasoned tyrants might find a lot to pique their interest. Come see a trailer below.

We all know that Palworld developer Pocketpair are currently dealing with a lawsuit from Mario maker Nintendo. Specifically, it's over patent rights, rather than something like copyright infringement which everyone was expecting given the liberties that Palword takes with its Pal designs. In November it was confirmed what those patents are, partially relating to the fact you could throw out your Pals from a ball and they'd appear, similar to Pokemon Legends Arceus. That feature was patched out from Palworld though, and in a new post Pocketpair has confirmed that this is because of the ongoing lawsuit.

3D platformer Paperklay has perhaps the least appealing protagonists I've seen in a game recently. I hate avian buddy duo "Chick & Nugget" and all their works, beginning with the ghastly 3am pun that appears to have spawned them.

Look at that ampersand, dangling in the middle like a chunk of gristle. What an absolute crime against typography. And chickens. And platform game levels made of paper and card - you'd never put an actual chicken nugget on dioramas like these, the grease would ruin it. I also mistrust Chick's beady black eyes, and I can't abide the fact that Nugget is wearing a fragment of eggshell for pants. That's like a human child using a placenta as a necktie! Argh!

FFVII Ever Crisis Academy Teacher Barret Banner Begins

The next part of the Final Fantasy VII high school AU scenario for FFVII Ever Crisis kicked off, and this time it involves the PE teacher Barret Wallace Ever Crisis Academy Seven weapon and gear. We can get the five-star Teacher's Paper Fan and Seventh High Athletic Gear outfit for him from it. It also features the five-star Ogrekiller Ultimate Weapon for Glenn, just like the Tifa banner.

The Barret Teacher's Paper Fan weapon in FFVII Ever Crisis features the C Ability Winds of Discipline. It hits all enemies and deals wind damage, and their resistance to that element will be decreased and he gets a Veil shield if his health is below 50%. The R Abilities on it are Boost PATK and Boost Wind Potency.

As for the gear, Barret can wear Seventh High Athletic Gear. This looks like a blue tracksuit. It features the R Abilities Physical and Magic Ward and Gym Teacher's Whistle. The former increases phys and mag defense by 15%, while the latter increases wind ability damage by 30% and increases phys ability damage if his Attack Stance Command Gauge is at max when he's wearing this.

In addition to the banner, another weapon we can earn in the FFVII Ever Crisis event Ever Crisis Academy Seven is now available. We can trade in items to get a five-star Set Square for Glenn. This looks like the type of ruler, though he'll wield it like an axe.

You can see a pictures of Barret's weapon and gear and Glenn's weapons in the official Square Enix images below.

The other weapon we can earn is the Folding Ruler, which behaves like a sword, for Sephiroth.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available on the PC and mobile devices, and the FFVII Ever Crisis Academy high school AU event and banners will run until May 28, 2025.

Kaitai Puzzle Fantasy My Melody and Kuromi Figures Show Skeletons Again

Once again, MegaHouse will release a collection of Sanrio Kaitai Puzzle Fantasy figures that shows the skeletons of the features characters, and this time the four in the collection will feature two My Melody designs and two Kuromi options. These launch at the end of June 2025 in honor of the characters' anniversaries. (My Melody is turning 50, and Kuromi is 20.) As with past entries in this line, this will be a blind box collection, with a single one costing 1,210円 (~$8). So you won't know which character or color you'll get. Big Bad Toy Store is selling a full set of four, which is how they appear packaged on shelves, for $63.99

How it works is all of these Sanrio Kaitai Puzzle Fantasy Kuromi and My Melody figures is a figure you assemble by constructing the skeleton, then adding a layer showing part of the character on top of it. So you'll start with the back half of the skeleton and pieces representing the heart and brain. Then, you put the "front" of the skeleton on. The puzzle is finished when you put on half of the character's body so you can see their normal self on their right side and their skeleton still on their left. For this collection, the two Kuromi variants feature her with either a purple and white or black and white color scheme, and there are decorations on her ears. With My Melody, both options are pink and white, but her ears are either up or in a lop ear pose with decorations on them. Each one is 65mm (two and a half inches) tall.

Here's how all four styles look:

We've seen these twice before. In 2023, models of Cinnamoroll, Hello Kitty, Kuromi, and My Melody showed up. Those variants only involved a pink and white My Melody and purple and white Kuromi. Another round returned in 2024, with Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, My Melody, and Pompompurin once again part of it. The run released in December 2024 in Japan included Hangyodon, Hello Kitty, another Kuromi variant, and Pochacco. Ones also appeared based on Justice League heroes and Delicious in Dungeon ones.

The Sanrio Kaitai Puzzle Fantasy Kuromi and My Melody figures showing both characters' skeletons will launch in Japan in June 2025.

2B From NieR: Automata Joins Desktop Army Figure Collection

MegaHouse announced that 2B from NieR: Automata will become a Desktop Army figure. She'll launch in the second half of October 2025 in Japan. She'll cost 9,900円 (~$68). At time of writing, it seems the only store with worldwide shipping carrying it is AmiAmi, which is selling it for about $58.46.

The trademark of the Desktop Army line is that all of the characters are about 80mm (three inches) tall, and the figures are articulated, come with accessories, and are compatible with all past armor and accessories with other characters. This figure includes both 2B and Pod 042. You also get two swords with her, which are Virtuous Contract and Virtuous Treaty. These can be held in her hand or attached to her back.

Here's a closer look at the character, some possible poses, and the accessories she'll come with from MegaHouse.

Desktop Army is an established MegaHouse line of original figures that included plenty of crossovers prior to the 2B NieR: Automata announcement. For example, Persona 3's Aigis joined the collection in 2021. One set brought Evangelion's Shinji and Kaworu into the fold. There were also ones based on Fate/Stay Night characters, Princess Connect heroines, and Alice Gear units.

This isn't the only recent NieR: Automata merchandise to appear. Square Enix shared a Black Box rubber tray with glow-in-the-dark elements as part of a new collection headed to Japan.

MegaHouse's NieR: Automata 2B Desktop Army figure will debut in Japan in late October 2025. The gamecan be found on the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The NieR: Automata anime is streaming on Crunchyroll

Pocketpair Changed Palworld Because of Nintendo's Pokemon Lawsuit

Pocketpair announced a number of changes made and coming to Palworld as a result of the lawsuit filed by Nintendo based on its similarities to Pokemon. This is one of the more extensive responses to the lawsuit filed in 2024, which claimed several patents were violated. The statement confirmed why one change was made to resemble a connection to Poke Balls, and noted another is coming regarding traveling via Pals.

The change that already happened involved Pal Spheres, the equivalent of Poke Balls. In Palworld, these hold Pals and throwing one with a character in it would allow you to summon the character to appear alongside you. The company said it made that change because of the lawsuit, so now a Pal just appears next to a player after an owned one is called.

The next change will arrive in 0.5.5. When that patch arrives, we won't ride Pals like we do Pokemon to travel in Palworld anymore. Instead, we need to reply on the Glider equipment. When a player holds one, they will be able to pull it out and fly on it. Some that served that purpose included Celaray and Galeclaw. Pocketpair did say Pal buffs that affected the Glider, such as Celaray letting you move more swiftly, will still be present.

So far, all of the changes to Palworld Pocketpair made in response to the Nintendo lawsuit address gameplay mechanics similar to ones in the Pokemon series and don't address issues about similar character designs. As anyone who played either game can attest, many character designs bear an uncanny resemblance. Some of the most obvious ones are how Lamball looks like Wooloo, Cattiva resembles Zorua, Anubis seems based on Lucario, Chillet has Goodra vibes, Cremis seems like Eevee, Bristla resembles Bellossom, Bushi looks like Hisuian Decidueye, Foxcicle seems like Ninetails, Katress has a Mismagius look, and Depresso is a dead ringer for Espurr.

Palworld is available in early access for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Death Stranding 2 DualSense PS5 Controller Only Sold via Sony

Sony and Kojima Productions announced that there will be a PS5 Dualsense controller based on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, but the limited edition design will only be sold directly through the PlayStation online storefront. These will appear on June 26, 2025, though we can pre-order the peripheral at 10am ET in the US and 10am local time in Europe on May 22, 2025.

As this is a limited edition controller, Sony noted that it won't be able to share exact quantities for each region. The company did share a price for it, however. It will cost $84.99/€84.99/£74.99 /¥12,480. Standard Dualsenses tend to cost around $79.99. This comes after price increases on the PS5 and some peripherals were already announced for multiple places worldwide. The announcement on the PlayStation Blog didn't note if tariffs will affect the price in the US, since the product will be shipping in June 2025.

Here's a closer look at the Death Stranding 2 Dualsense PS5 controller. It largely looks like a standard, black version of the peripheral. However, the touchpad features a logo and design based on Drawbridge, the new organization found in this installment. There are also accents on the left and right grips based on technologies and designs found in the game.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will come to the PS5 on June 26, 2025, and the themed DualSense controller will be able to pre-order starting on May 22, 2025 ahead of its June 26, 2025 debut.

Final Fantasy VII FFVII Rebirth Yuffie Kisaragi 3D model explained

Square Enix has published a new tweet describing the newer 3D model for Yuffie Kisaragi in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in more detail. The company explained how it further emphasized the ninja characteristics of Yuffie with the model changes while depicting her growth in FFVII Rebirth following her earlier debut in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.

The company added the amount of information to emphasize Yuffie's Japanese theme by adding a detailed armor sleeve to her left arm, along with a belt and pouch to her pants. In addition, it designed the pouch in such a way that enables Yuffie to carry multiple kunais, which are essential for a ninja character.

Square Enix also explained the way it made Yuffie's close-up bust CG. It intended to give her a more matured appearance as she grows up through her new journey with Cloud's group.

The original Japanese official tweet is also available to view right below:

https://twitter.com/FFVIIR_CLOUD/status/1920312712183103500

Yuffie has thus joined the list of FFVII Rebirth characters whose 3D models are being described in more detail by Square Enix. The company had previously explained the models for Barret Wallace, Tifa Lockhart, Cloud Strife, and Sephiroth.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is readily available worldwide on PlayStation 5 and PC.

Storage Location in Schedule 1

The Stash and Dash Storage Unit is the only new addition to Schedule 1 in the latest update, and you can add it to your list of properties.

If you're running out of space in the Docks Warehouse and the Barn, the new property will be immensely helpful. While it's not as big as the two other properties, the new location can be a great choice for beginners.

Stash and Dash Storage Unit location in Schedule 1

The new patch notes don't describe the exact location of the new Storage Unit, which makes it a tad confusing. However, the easiest way to locate it is to buy the place from Ray's Realty. You'll have to spend $5,000 to purchase, which is significantly lower than what it costs to purchase either the Docks Warehouse or the Barn.

Once you've purchased the location, you can access it as one of your other properties. Despite being named as a storage unit, you can set up your business at that location as well.

Stash and Dash Storage Location in Schedule 1
Screenshot by Destructoid

To reach the location, reach Taco Ticklers (your starting point on the map). Take the road to Dan's Hardware. The Storage Unit is opposite the Taco Ticklers. Once you've purchased the business, it will be marked on the map, making it easier for you to find it.

How to use the Stash and Dash Storage Unit in Schedule 1

The Stash and Dash are significantly smaller, and they're not my favorite. If you're just getting started, you can easily buy it for a cheap price. It has one small room and a narrow space going to the back. There's not much to keep at this location (another reason why I feel it's beginner-friendly, as you won't have too many tools available at your disposal).

That's pretty much all you can do with the new Storage Unit. Make sure to go through the full notes to note down all the new additions now available in both the beta and the full version of the game.

KCD2 Brushes with Death DLC cover

The long-awaited Brushes with Death DLC, teased in the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 roadmap, is almost here. With the Barber update and Hardcore mode behind us, players can dive into a mysterious new story waiting to be uncovered. Here's what you can expect from this intriguing DLC.

When does KCD2 Brushes with Death DLC come out?

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's Brushes with Death DLC launches on May 15. While an exact time hasn't been confirmed, past launches have debuted at 10 AM CT, so it's likely the same will happen here. Here's a countdown to the release of Brushes with Death:

[hurrytimer id="1064750"]

Information about the Brushes with Death DLC has been pretty vague, but the teaser has provided more clarity. When the artwork was first revealed, it hinted that the DLC would feature a "quest that tests Henry's skills like never before." You can expect a challenge similar to the grueling Hardcore mode. The trailer offers a glimpse of the quest's start, showing a man tied to a pole while conversing with a demonic skull.

https://twitter.com/KingdomComeRPG/status/1920493905868738587

The man tied to the pole is the same painter we see in the DLC's cover art. He seems to be in a dire situation, where he starts arguing with a skull. Although we have yet to see why the painter has found himself in this predicament, the description suggests it's tied to his past. Henry will, of course, get caught up in this and possibly help him out of a tricky situation. Or, maybe the painter could turn out to be the antagonist. We'll just have to see which way it turns out.

Henry and the Painter in Brushes with Death

Those who purchased the KCD2 Expansion Pass will automatically receive the Brushes with Death DLC, as it's included in the bundle. The pass costs around $29.99 and provides additional content, like the Shields of Seasons Passing item set, which contains four shield designs to add more style to Henry's gear. If you didn't buy the pass, you can still purchase the DLC separately, though the pricing has yet to be revealed.

Brushes with Death isn't the only DLC coming to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. By autumn, we'll see Legacy of the Forge, where Henry will restore Kuttenberg's forge and work toward becoming a master blacksmith. The adventure then ends with Mysteria Ecclesiae, leading you into the heart of the Sedletz Monastery, a place harboring the source of a deadly illness. With all three DLCs on the way, it seems like the excitement for KCD2 will never stop, and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up as a Game of the Year contender.

Destiny 2 Renegades Star Wars skins

In a world where seemingly every game features an IP crossover, Destiny 2 fans have voiced their concerns loudly about the upcoming Star Wars-inspired Renegades expansion that Bungie announced this week.

I noticed a lot of Destiny players voicing their concerns about a full-fledged Star Wars DLC, and rightfully so, especially after pre-order bonuses now allow Guardians to dress up like Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, or General Grievous, on top of other previous themed items. But Bungie is asking gamers to let them cook and trust the process when it comes to Renegades.

In today's This Week in Destiny blog post, Bungie recapped the big announcements from earlier in the week regarding Year of Prophecy and Destiny 2's new Fate Saga. And one of the top minds behind the game says not to expect a Duel of the Fates just yet.

"Rest assured, Guardians - everything in Renegades is in-canon for the Destiny universe, but we're leaning into the aesthetic, tone and vibe of Star Wars to tell a Destiny story with Destiny characters," assistant game director Robbie Stevens said.

This doesn't really explain what Renegades is or will be about, and so gamers only have the visuals already released to go off of for now, so I understand the slight panic for those who are worried about Destiny losing its identity to a metaverse-like world. In the teaser trailer, Guardians can be seen wielding Star Wars blasters and the legendary lightsaber, but beyond that, not much else is known. And that's likely by design.

With Renegades not due to launch until Dec. 2, whatever's coming in Destiny 2's story will remain secret for the next few months at least, until the expansion is detailed in a new developer stream sometime this fall ahead of its release.

Before Renegades, Destiny 2 gamers can look forward to The Edge of Fate DLC on July 15, a new raid on July 29, and large-scale update called Ash & Iron coming to the game on Sept. 2. Until then, Bungie will be working on Renegades behind the scenes to deliver something Star Wars-flavored while not being an outright IP collab like this season of Fortnite.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brUCTPKn6KM

Basically, don't expect Luke Skywalker to be an NPC in this DLC. At least, not yet.

Original Stardew Valley gameplay

After almost a decade, Stardew Valley still reigns supreme in the cozy genre, largely thanks to consistent updates year after year. The question on every fan's mind is what's next on developer ConcernedApe's agenda: Will there be a Stardew Valley sequel, or will the focus shift to Haunted Chocolatier instead?

Even though it's been leaning toward the latter, ConcernedApe has once again shaken things up with a new update. Here's what you need to know about a potential Stardew Valley 2.

Will there be a Stardew Valley sequel?

In the TigerBelly podcast, host Bobby Lee asks ConcernedApe (Eric Barone) about the possibility of a Stardew Valley 2. ConcernedApe explains that adding new content to the original game is easier than starting fresh with a sequel. However, he does mention, "I might eventually make a Stardew Valley 2." So, while there's a strong possibility for a sequel, nothing is set in stone yet.

Fishing in Stardew Valley

Since Stardew Valley's inception, there has been ongoing speculation about what a sequel could look like. Fans have voiced general desires, such as more NPCs and interactions, along with more ambitious ideas, like incorporating a city environment. A city mixed with a farming sim could be an interesting twist, or at the very least, provide a way to access such a place to diversify the game's landscape.

Unfortunately, a sequel might not happen for a while, as ConcernedApe and his team are currently focused on the upcoming title Haunted Chocolatier. He shares that he doesn't want to be known solely as "the Stardew Valley guy," which is why he's investing time in exploring new creative projects. Haunted Chocolatier has been shrouded in mystery since its announcement almost three years ago, with no official release date. ConcernedApe notes there's still much work to be done, hinting at a rough timeframe within the next five years for its release.

While Stardew Valley 2 hasn't been officially set in motion, the original game may still have more to offer. ConcernedApe suggests that new updates could still happen. However, any future update will likely be announced once the new features are fully ready for launch. This cautious approach is partly due to community backlash after the most recent update was released solely on PC at first, leaving other platforms waiting.

Beyond discussions of Stardew Valley 2 and Haunted Chocolatier, the podcast delves into the origins of Stardew Valley. ConcernedApe explains that when he first released the game, it wasn't "totally finished," which is why so many updates followed. He also mentions that his inspiration came from playing Harvest Moon, a game widely credited with starting the farming sim phenomenon.

ConcernedApe confirms in the podcast that he and Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada have met and exchanged compliments about each other's games. If Stardew Valley 2 ever happens, it could establish a series with a cultural impact similar to Harvest Moon, creating a legacy that shapes the farming sim genre for years to come. The influence of both games on the industry is undeniable, and a sequel would only strengthen that legacy, expanding the world and its possibilities.

Destiny 2 Edge of Fate key art

Destiny 2's new era begins in 2025 with the Year of Prophecy, which begins the Fate Saga of the franchise after the Light and Darkness Saga ended with The Final Shape expansion.

As part of Year of Prophecy, two main expansions will launch, called The Edge of Fate and Renegades. With the first one just around the corner, we know a bit about what to expect, including a new destination called Kepler, a new raid shortly after launch, and an all-new story that pushes the world's lore in new directions.

Basically, Destiny 2 isn't going anywhere any time soon, especially with two more expansions confirmed for 2026, called Shattered Cycle and The Alchemist. While the Light and Darkness Saga has ended, it seems as though the world of the Destiny franchise may just be getting started.

For now, though, here's what we know about when you can get your hands on D2's next big DLCs.

Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy release dates

There are several key dates to keep in mind when it comes to Destiny 2 in 2025, with even more dates to be revealed. But here are some big ones for you to mark on your calendar for this year.

Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate countdown

Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate key art

The newest expansion for Destiny 2, The Edge of Fate, is due to launch on July 15, 2025. If it's like other expansions, there will be some server downtime beforehand, and the game should be playable again starting at around 11am CT on that day.

Here's a countdown that ends exactly on July 15 at 11am CT:

[hurrytimer id="1064693"]

The Edge of Fate seems to deal with time travel, including relics of the past and a mysterious new character named Lodai. Guardians must head to the edge of the Sol system to find Kepler, the new location, and unravel the mysteries within.

The new expansion will add new story missions, new locations to visit, new missions, new weapons and gear, a new Fallen enemy that can fly, a new raid launching on July 29, and more. Launch day is just the beginning for the expansion, with a large-scale update named Ash & Iron due to come out on Sept. 2, boasting new and reprised activities, new sandbox meta, new events, new modifiers and challenges, and new gear and artifact mods.

But that's not the last DLC coming for Destiny 2 in 2025. Oh no, we're just getting started, and up next we will go to a galaxy far, far away.

Destiny 2: Renegades countdown

Destiny 2: Renegades art

The second expansion for Destiny 2 in 2025 is called Renegades, and it draws heavy inspiration from Star Wars. Characters can be seen holding Star Wars-like blasters and lightsabers, but the story will be true to Destiny's lore and world, and is an official partnership between Bungie and Lucasfilm Games.

Destiny 2: Renegades is scheduled to launch on Dec. 2, 2025 at around 11am CT. Here's a countdown until then:

[hurrytimer id="1064695"]

Renegades will include a new dungeon, new story, new missions, new weapons, gear, and a bunch more when it drops to close out 2025, and another new year of Destiny 2 can begin again when the DLC's major update Shadow & Order arrives on March 3, 2026.

This article will be updated with more information whenever it becomes available.

Fortnite lightsaber during Chapter 6 Season 3

If you want a fun weapon in Fortnite, the Star Wars Galactic Battles Lightsaber is what you need. These lightweight swords let your character rapidly swing them around to take out enemies quickly. They even have special abilities, depending on your alignment.

The difficult part is learning where to find them. Although you can get lucky and obtain a Lightsaber through player elimination drops, there are a few guaranteed spawns you can explore. Here's exactly how to find a Lightsaber during Fortnite Chapter Six, season three.

How to find Lightsabers in Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Battles

There are three ways to find Lightsabers during Fortnite's Star Wars Galactic Battles season:

The best way to get one is to find one of Fortnite's Training Rift Gate NPCs and join the Jedi or the Sith. Below is a list of every NPC you can find at the time of writing:

  • Rey
  • Darth Sidious
  • Mace Windu
  • Darth Maul

You can find them by looking for faction icons on your in-game map during a match. These markers appear after the first storm starts, so you'll have to survive for a couple of minutes before spotting them. Every icon has swords in the center, with Rey's being blue, Mace Windu's being purple, and both Darth Maul and Darth Sidious' being red. Their spawn locations and which NPCs appear per match are completely random, and you're not guaranteed to find every character each time.

Fortnite Lightsaber alignment map icons
Screenshot by Destructoid

Visiting one of these locations and talking to the gate's hologram will reward you with a Lightsaber of your chosen faction during the round, letting you use their respective abilities alongside your usual attacks.

Alternatively, you can loot Lightsabers off other players. While you're not guaranteed to get one with every elimination, there's a chance you'll find one if they have one in their inventory while fighting you. Your best bet is to look for people swinging Lightsabers around, particularly during fights with other players, to ensure you secure one after a swift defeat. Otherwise, you can try to get lucky and pick one up by fighting anyone you encounter throughout the match.

Your last option is heading down to Vader Samurai's Solitude to fight Darth Vader. Defeating him gives you a special Lightsaber with a unique ability, Force Saber Throw. But other players will likely contest this spot, so watch your surroundings as you approach this area.

Overall, this method differs from previous Fortnite seasons that required you to fight Darth Vader to get a Lightsaber. Nowadays, talking to the right people—or, in this case, holograms—is how you'll get one without much trouble. Fighting Darth Vader will reward you with a special Lightsaber, but doing so is completely optional.

All Lightsaber abilities in Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Battles

The Lightsaber ability you gain depends on which faction you align yourself with during your Fortnite matches and whether you're using Darth Vader's version. All five Lightsaber types come with the following abilities:

  • Regular attacks
  • Block (Hold right-click or your aim button)
  • Force Jump (Press space while airborne)

Each Lightsaber also has a unique Force Ability. Here's a list of every Lightsaber type and their extra abilities:

  • Rey's Jedi Padawan Lightsaber: Force Push
  • Darth Sidious's Sith Lightsaber: Force Lightning
  • Darth Maul's Sith Lightsaber: Force Throw
  • Mace Windu's Lightsaber: Force Pull
  • Darth Vader's Sith Lightsaber: Force Saber Throw

If you join the Jedi and talk to Rey, you'll gain a blue Lightsaber and access to Force Push. For anyone looking to side with the Sith, speak to Darth Sidious or Darth Maul to get a red Lightsaber instead alongside Force Lightning or Force Throw. Another option is Mace Windu's purple Lightsaber, granting you Force Pull to bring enemies closer to you.

While some are defensive weapons that can knock opponents away, including off high ledges or into the storm, others, like Force Lightning and Force Throw, are offensive attacks intended to inflict extra damage to your foes. Similarly, Darth Vader's version grants you Force Saber Throw, letting you throw your Lightsaber at your enemies if you prefer a more chaotic fighting style.

EA FC 25 Premier League TOTS players

The prayers of EA FC 25 players seem to have been heard. In a surprising change of plans, EA Sports has added 93+ guaranteed TOTS picks as part of the rewards for Champions finals, which is a welcome tweak to say the least.

Players securing ranks five or above will be able to pick between TOTS cards rated 93 or above. If you've played the first two weeks of TOTS this year, you'll know exactly why this is an incredible change.

The addition of 93+ TOTS picks was much needed for the EA FC 25 community

Team of the Season (TOTS) is supposed to be the best time to play Ultimate Team. The promo is filled with special cards, and there are plenty of them available in packs at any given point in time. Unfortunately, the campaign has been mixed at best in the first couple of weeks. The lack of exchanges has practically killed the menu grind as we know it.

To make matters worse, the rewards from all the modes have been pretty mediocre at best. While it was easy to get TOTS cards from Champions Finals, the quality of the rewards wasn't worth it. There have been numerous instances where players have finished in Rank 1 and received items that hardly have any value on the market.

https://twitter.com/FutSheriff/status/1920483356652818690

If you're among the better-skilled players in the community, there's hope for you. If you can secure Rank 5 (or above), the TOTS picks will only feature cards rated 93 or above. While this doesn't automatically guarantee you the best cards, the lower-rated items won't be available in the pool of rewards. If you're someone who grinds the Champions Finals mode, the chances for your efforts to reward you with something good are going to be higher with the recent change.

The rewards might not remove all the problems that the community and I have with the TOTS season as a whole. The lack of exchanges has practically killed grind, and it's very difficult to pack the better cards. Thankfully, the Champions Finals is one outlet to exploit if you can secure nine wins or more in a given weekend.

The picks will feature TOTS from both the men's and women's leagues, which could lead to some frustration. But you'll get cards that have decent overall ratings, and most players should receive items that will be usable in their Ultimate Team squads.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Cheshire Cat

The Cheshire Cat's final friendship quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, On a Wild Cheshire Chase, is a doozy. He's here to send you on a scavenger hunt, giving you riddles to solve and several locations to explore outside your village.

The best part? It gets trickier the further you progress. The final reward is worth it, but it's easy to get stuck if you're unsure how to figure out the Cheshire Cat's riddles. Here's a complete guide to completing the On a Wild Cheshire Chase quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Talking to Alice about the Scavenger Hunt note

You'll begin the Cheshire Cat's "On a Wild Cheshire Chase" quest when you reach level 10 friendship with him and complete his pre-requisite mission, The Uncrafting Station. After maxing his friendship level, speak to the Cheshire Cat to hear about a special surprise: a scavenger hunt.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Cheshire Cat scavenger hunt dialogue
Screenshot by Destructoid

Throughout this first conversation, the Cheshire Cat will describe this scavenger hunt before giving you a note. The note reads as follows:

"Hidden memories ready to bloom, are in your hands, yours to consume."

We won't have to think hard about this puzzle. Instead, our next task is to ask Alice, who deduces that we should eat the note. Head into your inventory and interact with it like you would a regular food item to consume it, revealing a purple memory orb.

Finding the Cheshire Cat's Memory location

Once you interact with the purple memory orb, you'll see an image of a realm door inside Dream Castle with the Cheshire Cat's signature face and a tree with what appears to be old milk and white roses. Our next destination is the Beauty and the Beast realm door in Dream Castle.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Cheshire Cat realm memory
Screenshot by Destructoid

Arriving at this location will show a sparkling tree that appears exactly like it does in the memory. Interacting with it will grant you some spoiled milk and white roses, the latter of which you'll need to return to the Alice in Wonderland Realm following a brief conversation with Alice.

Going back to where the white roses were painted red

Following your chat with Alice, you decide to return to her realm to figure out what to do with these white roses. You'll need to head back to the Queen's Garden from previous quests, which you can access by traveling through the realm's forest until you find a purple teleport mushroom in the back corner of the area.

If you're starting from the entrance, go forward along the forest's path until you can't anymore before turning right and running left to find it. The mushroom will teleport you to the Queen's Garden, so you won't have to go through the guard and lever puzzle again.

Once you arrive in the Queen's Garden, look for a white rose tree near a heart gate. Placing the roses inside will give you some Dried Sprouts, which you can pick up to activate a portal. This portal will teleport you to Mickey's Secret Room, where you'll quickly notice the Cheshire Cat's footprints. Follow these footprints until you spot a pink Cheshire Catfish.

You now have three mysterious items on hand from this quest. While the quest may look close to completion, there's a secret fourth item to obtain.

Finding the Cheshire Cat's final item

As you speak to the Cheshire Cat about the three resources you just collected, he'll reveal that there's a fourth item to find. It'll appear as the "final item" in your quest log, with no other hints aside from the following hint from the Cheshire Cat:

"I'm small and round, crushed and ground. A bean, they say, to start the day. What am I?"

Thankfully, this is all we need to figure out the solution. The final item is a coffee bean, which you can collect from the Glade of Trust. If you already have some coffee beans, head straight to an oven or stovetop and toss the three quest items alongside a coffee bean bag into the cooking pot.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Cheshire Concoction recipe
Screenshot by Destructoid

These four items will make a Cheshire Concoction. While it's not immediately clear what this does, a quick trip back to the Cheshire Cat's tree will answer that for us.

Using the Cheshire Concoction to fish in Frosted Heights

With the Cheshire Concoction in hand, return to the Cheshire Cat to learn more about it. Turns out, you'll be doing some fishing next after consuming this concoction. He'll give you another riddle, but your character quickly deduces its meaning. It's time to venture into Frosted Heights.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Cheshire Chest
Screenshot by Destructoid

After drinking the concoction, start fishing around Frosted Heights until you catch a Cheshire Chest. It is partially luck-based, so don't worry if you need to fish at a few spots before finding it. Once you have the chest, return to the Cheshire Cat to receive a Cheshire Cat Jacket and matching gloves, marking the end of the On a Wild Cheshire Chase quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Leia standing with Han Solo in Fortnite

Han Solo isn't easily swayed, and convincing him to join your cause requires quite a bit of effort in Fortnite's Star Wars Galactic Battle season. To unlock him as an ally, you need to complete Han Solo's story quests.

Han's got some big tasks for you to tackle before he's willing to fight by your side. If you want to convince him to help out, you need to know how to complete all of Han Solo's story quests in Fortnite.

All Han Solo story quests in Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Battle

Han Solo has four story quests to complete to get him on your side in Fortnite. Two of these quests are quite straightforward and only require you to talk with him, so it's the other two that can be a bit tricky to get done. The four tasks you need to finish are:

  • Meet Han Solo.
  • Damage structures from beyond 22 meters away.
  • Defeat Stormtroopers.
  • Recruit Han Solo.

Meet Han Solo in Fortnite

Meeting Han Solo in Fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

To unlock his story quests, you need to meet and talk with Han Solo. The process for completing all story quests in the Star Wars season is a bit unique, so before you can work on any of them, you first need to discover and complete story quests.

You can find the Han Solo NPC hanging around the inside of the central cantina at Outpost Enclave. He wanders around the building a bit, but he can always be found inside. Interact with him and select the option marked by a white diamond icon to start his quests.

Damage structures from beyond 22 meters away in Fortnite

Han's first task for you is to damage structures from beyond 22 meters away. This is a pretty flexible quest, so it's entirely up to you how you choose to get it done. Most weapons work pretty well for this task, but so do certain vehicles.

I chose to complete this task using Mace Windu's training to fully dismantle a BURD To Go location. All force abilities can be used to complete this task, so if you manage to get to a Training Rift Gate, you can use the skills you learn to get this task done. Flying vehicles like TIE Fighters and X-Wings also have powerful guns that deal lots of damage from far away and work well for this task.

Using Mace Windu's training to destroy a gas station in Fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

If you're not having any luck finding the fancier Star Wars weapons and loot, you can use any regular weapons you come across. It can be tough to figure out how far away 22 meters is, but it's closer than you think. You can use the image above for a rough estimate of how far away you need to be.

Defeat Stormtroopers in Fortnite

Han's next quest is for you to defeat five Stormtroopers so he can see what you're capable of. Just as they are in all Star Wars content, Stormtroopers are terrible shots, so fighting them is fairly easy.

Finding them is a bit trickier, though, especially if you don't know where to look. There are eight locations you can visit to find Stormtroopers around the island in Fortnite.

  • North of Outlaw Oasis.
  • West of Crime City.
  • South of Crime City.
  • All around Vader Samurai's Solitude.
  • North of Magic Mosses.
  • Near the west end of Pumped Power.
  • All around the First Order Base.
  • South of the First Order Base.

Stormtrooper map locations in Fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

Not all of these locations have five Stormtroopers hanging around, so it's best to visit either Vader Samurai Solitude or the First Order Base if you're hoping to get this task done in one go. All Stormtroopers will turn hostile against you when they see you take one out, so be ready for a fight.

Recruit Han Solo in Fortnite

Now that you've proven yourself to him, it's time to recruit Han Solo. Return to him at the cantina in the central region of the Outpost Enclave and chat with him to finish this task and all of his story quests. Next, consider working on all of Leia Organa's story quests and all of Luke Skywalker's story quests.

Mafia: The Old Country cast

Mafia: The Old Country brings out the tales of the old with the newest horse-riding features and classic shoot-em-up adventures. The gameplay trailer alone gave me major Red Dead Redemption 2 vibes, with dusty trails, tense standoffs, and that gritty cinematic charm. And honestly, I'm loving this new approach.

While past Mafia games were set in the modern era (loosely speaking, since they were set post-1930s), Old Country rewinds the clock to the early 1900s, right in the heart of Sicily. This era is strikingly similar to the period of Red Dead Redemption 2, which makes the comparison all the more fitting. Instead of the usual chase-and-shoot action, you're now saddling up for some good old-fashioned gunslinging, trading the open world for a linear narrative. The Mafia charm is still there with vintage cars, but I'm curious how they'll blend these with horseback gameplay.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTmJDf6CuZs

As a longtime Mafia fan, it's wild to see the series take on an outlaw approach with horseback riding, and I'm excited to see where this new direction takes us. Exploring the origins of the Mafia, outside the polished world of power and sharp suits, will be a fascinating shift. Mafia bosses have always been about loyalty and control, but I've always wondered what it was like before all that strength and polish.

Although you could make a lot of comparisons to Red Dead Redemption 2, Mafia: The Old Country still offers a lot that makes it stand on its own. In addition to the old-timey cars, players can engage in high-stakes knife fights, a new feature that brings a raw, personal touch to the action. Plus, it's set in Sicily, which was only mentioned in passing in previous Mafia games. Even if we visited it briefly in Mafia II, Old Country lets us fully immerse ourselves in its world.

Mafia: The Old Country looks like a serious return to form after the poorly received Mafia III, which was criticized for its repetitive gameplay and lack of variety. With a fresh setting, a grittier tone, and a more dynamic approach, it could carve out a new space in the market. And while the Red Dead comparisons may be inevitable, this game might just ride alongside it, not behind it.

Sigil Stones in Oblivion Remastered

Sigil Stones are some of the most useful items to find in Oblivion Remastered, and their enchantment effects can magically change how your weapons and armors work in the game.

You can gain these stones from the top of an Oblivion Gate, where you'll need to remove them to close a portal. Once you remove a Sigil Stone, it will be added to your inventory, and you can then use it as an enchantment. Using it on your weapon will trigger its offensive effect, while enchanting it on your armor will trigger a defensive effect.

Best Sigil Stone effects in Oblivion Remastered

The following table consists of the best Sigil Stone effects you can use on your weapons/armors. While the effects can be used at any player level, the effects will scale up as you level up. The stats mentioned here for the effects are at their maximum, which can be obtained once you get Transcendent Sigil Stones (obtainable from closing Oblivion gates at level 18 or above).

Trascendent Sigil Stone in Oblivion Remastered
Screenshot via Bethesda

Effect Reason
Shield on Self This Defensive effect can max out at 20% extra shield, which is massive for the endgame. The lategame features enemies that can do lot of damage, so having an armor with 20% extra shield is almost necessary. It also allows you to ignore potions that might be otherwise required for heals and protection.
Absorb Magicka on Strike This is easily the best Sigil Stone to use if you're using a build that requires a lot of Magicka. The effect will help to absorb 50 points from the enemy's Magicka on every hit. Magicka, as useful as it is, tends to regenerate slowly. You'll either have to rely on potions, or invest a lot of points on the Willpower stat. Thankfully, this particular effect can help you recover quite a large amount of Magicka (but make sure to use a build that involves physical attacks from close range).
Feather This particular effect doesn't have any impact on combat, but it's pretty useful. You can have 125 points of Feather on self, which will reduce the weight of the items available in your inventory. You'll be able to bypass the limitations of your encumbrance level, and carry more items. To do so, stack up enchanted items after you have Feather effect activated. This is one of the best ways of increase carry weight capacity without using console commands.
Chameleon With up to 30% Chameleon on self, you'll be able to sneak your way behind enemies and take them down without any struggle. Stealth is a really cool mechanic that can make your general gameplay far more interesting.
Frost/Fire/Shock There are three types of Sigil Stones available for use if you're looking to increase the amount of elemental damage on strike. You can deal 25 points of Fire/Frost/Shock damage on hit (any one type). These type of elemental attacks also work well against enemies that are resistant/immune to certain types of damage. You can usually do more damage against them by focusing on their weakness, which is possible with Sigil Stone effects that specialize in one type of elemental damage.
Resist Magic This effect adds 20% resistance to forms of magical damage, and it's highly useful against enemies who specialize in such types of attacks. The additional resistance will help with greater survivability, and especially so if you struggle with attacks that do magic-based damage.
Soul Trap Refilling the Soul Gems becomes mandatory if you have weapons with enchantments. Using Soul Trap spell is effective, but it has its own limitations. Using a Sigil Stone with the Soul Trap effect is a far better alternative. It will trigger Soul Drain on enemies for a fixed time. Once active, just hit as many enemies as you can refill your Soul Gems.
Nighteye If you ever struggle against enemies in the dark, the Nighteye is the perfect effect to utilize. Unlike Light, it doesn't light up the dark. Hence, enemies won't be able to detect you even if you can. Using the effect will turn the world blue, allowing you to spot the enemies in the dark.
Disintegrate This particular effect is highly useful if you're looking to handicap your enemy. The Sigil Stone effect will allow you to disintegrate either the enemy's weapon or armor, making it significantly weak in combat. Once done, it will be easier for you to dispatch them and finish the task.
Water Walking If you ever want to feel like Jesus inside Oblivion Remastered, this specific Sigil Stone effect is certainly the way to go. The effect does exactly what its name suggests as you'll be able to walk over water. This will allow you to cross water bodies quite easily, and save time. While there's no direct effect on combat, having the ability will reduce the time taken for you to travel from one location to another (especially if they have a big water body between them).

These are by far my favorite Sigil Stones that you can utilize in Oblivion Remastered. Make sure to equip them accordingly, as you won't want to waste their effects. Always equip them on weapons and armory pieces that you plan on using for a long time.

An Infernal is about to fire a fireball in Fire Force Reignition. There is a title on top and bottom of the page

As you progress in Fire Force Reignition (previously known as "Fire Force Online"), you'll eventually unlock Subclasses. These give you a few more abilities and passives, and can alter how you play your character. Subclasses are available to both Humans and Infernal, but they work a little differently, and not all of them are as useful. Because of this, we made this Fire Force Reignition Subclass Tier List.

Fire Force Online Human Subclass Tier List

A Scientist is standing next to an NPC
Screenshot by Fire Force Online Trello

As a human, you need to find the trainer for the Subclass you want to become, finish a quest, and then you'll gain its abilities. Even though all subclasses have their use, some are just more useful than others.

Tier Subclass Abilities Info
SS Berserker - Battle Cry
- Berserker Stomp (V1)
- Berseker Stomp (V2)
- Deploy Turret
-Extinguisher Grenade
- Steam Kit
S Priest - Purify
- Safeguard
- Latom
As a Priest, you can heal and buff yourself and your allies.
You can heal health, revive your teammates, and even buff everyone.
If you want to be useful (and often unkillable), this is the class for you.
It's not the best for PvP, though.
A Reaper - Crimson Benefits
- Grand Design
- Death's Touch
The Reaper can damage enemies to heal him/herself.
Reapers also get a huge buff when they are at low health, which also heals them.
Really fun to play as and very powerful in PvP.
A Windwalker - M1 Tornado
- Wind Tornado (V1)
- Wind Tornado (V2)
What's really cool about being a Windwalker is your ability to attack from range.
Not only can you knock back enemies with wind attacks, but you can also damage multiple foes.
Great fun.
B Partial Infernalization - Partial Transformation
- Guilotine
- Infernalized Defense
Get the benefits of being an Infernal without actually being an Infernal.
Improved defense, fire attacks, increased damage, and increased health regen.
B Scientist - Bug Toss
- True Form
- Compound Eye
Scientists can access their True Form, which can give them different types of attacks depending on what the true form is.
With Bug Toss, they get a grenade ability. They also have improved dodge. It can be fun to play, but also frustrating.
C Engineer - Deploy Turret
-Extinguisher Granade
- Steam Kit
If paired with a Priest, an Engineer can be useful. However, on their own, they are somewhat weak.
They can summon a weak turret, prevent the enemies from using abilities and buffing heals (but they can't actually heal anyone).
Use only if you're playing with a group of friends.
D Assassin - Disappearing Act
- Backstabber
- Inevitable Return
More situational than useful. Assassins can disappear and stun enemies. The Backstabber is only good for the first attack.
Inevitable Return is really difficult to pull off and even when you get it right, it's not that great. Try to avoid until this subclass gets buffed.

Fire Force Online Infernal Subclass Tier List

Screenshot via revolver agz

Unlike Humans, Infernal subclasses work differently. Instead of giving you lots of different abilities, Infernal gets only one, but they also get body accessories such as a Tail or Wings. Infernal Subclasses are much less useful, but can come in handy while in a pinch.

Tier Subclass Ability Info
S Spitter Ignited Shots You can shoot a Fireball from a distance which does quite a lot of damage. Your punches can also ignite enemies occasionally.
A Wing Ember Swipe Do a powerful Swiping Attack. Also, it just looks really cool.
B Beam Flaming Riposte With the Flaming Riposte, you can charge a beam that gets stronger the further it travels.
You can also slam into the ground and damage all enemies with the beam. Can be useful.
C Tail Tail Slam Slam into the ground with your tail and do a bit of damage. Okay, but nothing special.
D Blitz Burning Blitz With the Burning Blitz, you can move faster. That's it. Pretty useless.

That's all there is to it. Have fun playing with your favorite subclasses in Fire Force Reignition. If you haven't already, check out our Fire Force Reignition codes. You may just get a few reroll tokens. Additionally, check out our Fire Force Reignition Clans Tier list.

Talking to Luke about training in Fortnite

Luke Skywalker has three quests for you to complete, but they're really all part of the same overarching goal, which is to complete his special training for you. The exact tasks you need to finish for him are:

  • Begin your training.
  • Run through rings on the course.
  • Return to Luke to complete your training.

Begin your training in Fortnite

The first step is to visit the Luke Skywalker NPC located south of the Resistance Base and north of Shiny Shadfts. Once you find him, have a chat with him to begin your training. The next story quest begins as soon as you're done talking to him. He has a few different options available when talking to him, so make sure you choose the diamond icon with an exclamation point to start this task.

Run through rings on the course in Fortnite

The main task in Luke Skywalker's quest tasks you with running through 10 rings around the course he creates for you. Only one ring is visible at a time, so you have to run through each one to get the next ring to appear.

The course essentially takes you around in a circle starting at Luke's location, slightly north down the road toward the Resistance Base, past the BURD To Go Landmark, slightly into the swamps, around the other side of the BURD To Go location, and back to Luke. The path isn't too tough to follow, but it's easy to get lost if you move around too quickly, so keep a close eye on each ring.

You can walk, drive, or fly through Luke's course. There's one hoop that you have to ride a zipline across to pass through, but all of the other ones are close to the ground. The course isn't too long, so I recommend walking to have the easiest time navigating around since some of the swamp areas are tough to traverse in a vehicle.

All hoops on the course are marked with a white diamond icon with an exclamation point in it. This icon appears on both the map and near the hoop. If you lose sight of where to go, look for this icon to get back on track.

Return to Luke to complete your training in Fortnite

Once you go through all 10 hoops, return to Luke Skywalker to complete his story quests. He gives you a Legendary DL-44 Blaster Pistol for your hard work, and you also get a whopping 30,000 XP to spend on the battle pass.

There are many other tricky quests you can work on next to earn more XP. Some good ones to tackle are Leia Organa's story quests, bringing a Jedi Padawan lightsaber to General Grievous, and visiting Republic Outpost locations.

Maelle Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's massive success is mostly due to its engaging story and fun, turn-based gameplay. But for some, combining skills and powerful builds to destroying the game's enemies has become its own genre.

Since the game launched, E33 players have been posting their screenshots of outrageous damage numbers in the multi-billions using Maelle specifically, thanks to this one specific skill. It's called Stendhal, it costs eight ability points to use, and it's been breaking the game.

Stendhal skill in Expedition 33
Screenshot by Destructoid

Maelle and Stendhal have become so busted, in fact, that the game's dev, Sandfall Interactive, says its hand is being forced to nerf it in an upcoming update for Expedition 33.

"We hadn't planned to make any balance changes this early—just bug fixes, unless something clearly stood out," Sandfall said. "Well, Stendhal did. It was underwhelming for most of development, so in our final pre-release balance pass, we gave it a big damage boost—and clearly overdid it. It ended up overshadowing most other options."

For those who enjoy seeing big numbers go boom, don't fret. Sandfall says it still wants players "to be able to break the game—and you absolutely still can—but Stendhal was making it a bit too easy," so the change will go live very soon.

For those who want to record some record-breaking damage, time is of the essence, because the hotfix will go live on May 9, meaning today is the final day to use Stendhal to make the biggest damage numbers possible to add to your bragging rights and screenshot collection.

"After the change, it'll still be a strong single-hit skill with great synergy potential... just more in line with everything else," Sandfall said. This is nice to know for those who have re-spec'd Maelle into a nuclear weapon, even in New Game Plus.

Maelle's entire identity as a character in-battle is about buffing her damage to create some outrageous one-shot potential, so this news is somewhat disappointing—albeit probably necessary. Combining different Pictos and attributes, she should still be capable of some disgusting numbers with her Virtuous Stance and high critical hit chance.

Warzone CoD BO6 season 3 artwork

Call of Duty: Warzone's meta shifts with each update, offering new guns to pull out of your collection, or old ones to pop back into your loadouts.

Whether you're firing at long range or dealing with enemies inside one of Verdansk's many buildings up close, your loadout has to stay fresh with what the top attachments are for when it comes time to maximize your chances of surviving the battle royale.

Keep up to date with what to use in your loadouts in Warzone's Verdansk return in season three of BO6.

It's still relatively early in the return of Verdansk's days, but the meta weapons have already formed to let players know what to use when it comes time to drop in with the squad. Here's what you should be using when it's time to pop off with the squad.

After the May 7 update in Warzone, the Krig C is the new king when it comes to long-range damage, especially since the CR-56 AMAX was nerfed.

The HDR is back with a vengeance in BO6 Warzone, offering one-shot potential from anywhere at any distance, making it the must-pick sniper rifle. Even after a nerf, it's still the top sniper to use.

The C9 is the best close-range weapon currently in season three of BO6 Warzone, but with more SMGs expected soon along with nerfs and buffs, that could change quickly. For now, feel confident with this classic gun in your loadout drops.

Another classic Warzone gun, the Grau 5.56 is back in the form of a conversion kit Fire Mods attachment for the SWAT 5.56 marksman rifle. Level up the SWAT to and unlock the attachment on page five of the season three battle pass gain access to this loadout, which is fun to use, albeit less powerful than some others.

This article will be updated with more information over time.

Leia standing with General Grievous in Fortnite

Fortnite Chapter Six, season three brings plenty of new NPCs across the new map in designated locations, and they're all decently tricky to track down.

This season is completely Star Wars-themed, which means most of the characters you can meet are straight from a galaxy far, far away. NPCs in the new season work in the same way as they did in the past, and there are quite a few of them to find. Here are all NPC locations in Fortnite Chapter Six, season three.

The new Star Wars NPCs are spread all over the map, requiring you to travel to many distinct locations. At the start of the season, there were only five NPCs you could find across the map. More were confirmed in the official Chapter Six, season three patch notes, and they have been duly added as part of a new update.

NPC Name Image Region Where to find
Wookie Team Leader Wookie Team Leader in Fortnite Masked Meadows Wookie Team Leader can be found right in the middle of the Masked Meadows text on the map, where you'll come across a compound. You can interact with her, but she doesn't offer any services. You can choose to get a special weapon from her in exchange for gold bars.
General Grievous General Grievous NPC Fortnite Masked Meadows You can find General Grievous to the north of Wookie Team Leader, located near a small compound. Follow the tracks, and you'll find him on top of a hill. You can use your shields to gain health from him if self-preservation is necessary.
Poe Dameron Poe NPC Fortnite Resistance Base Go to the compound located at the start of the Resistance Base text on the map, and you'll be able to find Poe near a circular structure. He doesn't offer any services, unfortunately, unlike General Grievous.
Shadow Blade Hope Hope NPC Fortnite Resistance Base Hope is located north of where Poe is, and you can also find an X-wing Fighter at this location. She offers services in exchange for Gold Bars.
Vengeance Jones Jones NPC Fortnite Resistance Base Vengeance Jones is located right by Shadow Blade Hope, and you can find him in the same compound.
Han Solo Han Solo in Fortnite Outpost Conclave Han Solo is located at the center of Outpost Conclave, and he offers Rift to Go with higher community alignment.
Leia Organa Leia in Fortnite Brutal Boxcars Princess Leia is located right to the north of the Brutal Boxcars location. She offers Storm Circle Hint with higher community alignment
Luke Skywalker Luke Skywalker in Fortnite Shiny Shafts Luke is located to the north of Shiny Shafts, and he offers Patch Up against higher community alignment.

With the update of May 8, all eight NPCs for Chapter 6, Season 3 are now available. You can unlock special weapons from all of them in exchange for Gold. Some of them also offer useful services that can be availed based on certain conditions, so make sure to check those out (listed on the table above).

Sith Evie running by Leia in Fortnite

An epic battle is brewing in Fortnite's Star Wars season, and choosing a side in this war is a key part of the many quests you can complete throughout it. Leia Organa has a series of story quests for you to tackle that involve investigating the Empire.

She doesn't give you much guidance for finishing her quests, so figuring out how to get them done is fairly tricky. They reward lots of XP and help you discover a hidden vault packed with loot, so they're certainly worth doing. Here's how to complete all of Leia Organa's story quests in Fortnite.

All Leia Organa story quests in Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Battle

Leia Organa has four important story quests for you to complete in Fortnite:

  • Investigate the cannons.
  • Enter the secret Empire cache.
  • Investigate the Imperial console inside of the mountain.
  • Report back to Leia on why the Empire has come.

Investigate the cannons in Fortnite

To investigate the cannons, you need to speak with Leia Organa, then visit eAT-eAT to hotwire a cannon and reveal a secret Empire cache. This is a secret quest with no real directions, so figuring out where to go and how to get it done can be pretty tricky.

The first step is to venture to the eAT-eAT location. You can find this spot in the snowy mountains slightly south of Brutal Boxcars. It's a small Landmark location that has lots of fallen AT-ATs assembled around a restaurant.

Once you're at the right spot, approach the cannon on top of the fallen AT-AT that has wires sticking out of it near the west end of the area. Interact with it to hotwire the cannon and send a powerful blast straight ahead. Shooting the cannon officially finishes Leia's first quest.

This vault can be interacted with in any round to gain access to the loot inside. It's one of the secret vaults you can always find and explore around the island.

Enter the secret Empire cache in Fortnite

Once the massive cannon blows open the cave, head inside it to explore the secret Empire cache. This quest auto-completes as soon as you enter the cavern, so you don't have to do anything other than walk inside to get it done. There are plenty of chests packed with powerful weapons and loot inside, though, so be sure to grab all of it while you're there.

Investigate the Imperial console inside of the mountain in Fortnite

To your right after entering the cave, you'll find an Imperial console you can interact with. Approach it and select the interact option to learn what the Empire's been up to. The console sparkles and has a white diamond icon with an exclamation point over it to make finding it easy. The cave is also quite small, so you should have no issues quickly finishing this task.

Report back to Leia on why the Empire has come in Fortnite

The final step in this quest is to return to the Leia Organa NPC slightly south of Magic Mosses. Interact with her to share what you learned and officially finish all four of her story quests. If you're seeking additional XP, consider bringing a Jedi Padawan lightsaber to General Grievous next.
