Finding the best Fortnite settings is a tricky endeavour, largely because the built-in auto-detect feature can't be trusted. It ignores the importance of a buttery smooth frame rate in favor of simply maxing out the graphical settings to make the game look as good as possible.

Having the best graphics card that money can buy would be overkill for a game like Fortnite, with optimized settings being the real key to success, and this is where we can help. If your in-game settings are too high for your PC, this can cause problems with your frame rate, but this can be easily avoided. However, before you even boot the game, it's best to check out the Fortnite system requirements to double-check that your gaming PC is up to the task from the get-go.

I'm a sucker for a DIY project, so this homemade Steam Deck controller is right up my alley. Using some spare parts, a 3D printer, and plenty of patient trial and error, a hardware modder has put together his own take on a Steam Controller 2, complete with trackpads and a chassis that splits into two parts, taking inspiration directly from Nintendo in the process.

It's been a while since fresh Steam Controller 2 rumors gave any hint of an official new game controller from Valve, leaving modders like this one to take matters into their own hands. This controller shares a number of features you'd see in the Steam Deck, with the joysticks, d-pads, and trackpads all placed in a very similar layout to what you'd find in the best handheld out there right now.

What are the best farming games on PC? There's something about the repetitive nature of tilling and planting a field. Witnessing the slow payoff of your crops growing makes you feel in tune with nature - even if you are still sitting in front of your computer screen. The best farming games on PC can vary a lot in genre and gameplay, but all eventually come down to getting your hands dirty.

Some of the best PC games that include farming are meant to be experienced alone and focus on the relationships between your protagonist and a cast of local characters. Others, like multiplayer games Staxel and Farm Together, are all about building something with friends and the fun of creating something together that's more than a prewritten story, so the genre is still full of variation. Whether they're cute and casual town games like Stardew Valley or more realistic business ventures like the Farming Simulator series, we've found a mix of the best farming games that should hit every quadrant of the agricultural games graph.

I think Nuclear Throne is one of those games that will always be at least just a little bit relevant, in some shape or form. There are other indie games I'd rather play more than it from its era, but it kind of feels like the best representation of that period in indie games too. A new indie Vtuber by the name of Yubari Rei is about to debut at 3:30am PT/6:30am ET on July 4, 2025, and she'll release her first teaser PV at 3:30am PT/6:30am ET on June 27, 2025. While she will be a Japanese performer, her social media account features English messages and there are full English subtitles available for her initial video released back on June 14, 2025. In that teaser, a "boss" refers to her repeatedly as Rei-chan.

The first teaser offered more insight into the mindset of Yubari Rei. We only hear her voice as she explained she's looking for a new job. She explained, "I know I quit, but I just feel a bit restless." In the segment, the new performer also noted, "The work was really tough, but I was surrounded by amazing people. So I really, really enjoyed the job." The boss character in that video also mentioned, "Weren't you a YouTuber or something?" She then replied in that skit, "My job was related to YouTube." She also suggests this could be a monthly thing for her in terms of a schedule, as near the end of the video she said, "I'll only do advertising once a month."

Here's that first "Cafe Duty: My Unexpected New Gig" teaser. English subtitles are available via closed captions.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e62RcNUMJDo

As for the "It's your capable, beautiful bar owner, Yubari Rei" video, the placeholder for it is up as well. That will be a full video, not a stream, that debuts on June 27, 2025. Given the first PV had English subtitles if you selected closed captions and the description for this one has English translations via Blub, this one will likely offer an English option as well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Qx6Wk6blFk

As for the debut livestream, that is set for July 4, 2025. The placeholder for that is available. The description for that is entirely in Japanese, so don't expect any translations.

Metaphor: ReFantazio Hulkenberg Figure Costs $200

Kotobukiya started taking pre-orders for the Eiselin Burchelli Meijal Hulkenberg figure it announced, and it turns out she'll be a 22,000円/$199.99 item. She'll show up in Japan in January 2026, with a US release expected in February 2026. There will also be an additional facial expression available to those of us who buy directly through the company.

Extra face plate aside, the Hulkenberg figure is a static, 1/7 scale one. She'll stand at almost a foot tall (300mm). She wields her polearm from the game, given she represents the Knight Archetype at the very outset. She wears her standard outfit from the game and stands atop a red base that matches her hair. If the additional expression part is swapped in, she'll be shown with her eyes closed and a slight smile.

Here's a closer look at some photos of the final Metaphor: ReFantazio Hulkenberg figure:

And here are close-up images showing the two possible expressions with the bonus face plate:

We're now at three figures of Metaphor: ReFantazio heroines from Kotobukiya. Gallica showed up as the initial one in the collection. A Juani "Junah" Cygnus one appeared after that. It's unknown if even more are planned at the moment.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The manga based on it is running now worldwide. Kotobukiya will sell the Eiselin Burchelli Meijal Hulkenberg Metaphor: ReFantazio figure in Japan in January 2026, then worldwide in February 2026.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger Systems Trailer Covers Gameplay

Bandai Namco shared more details about Digimon Story: Time Stranger in a new trailer that went over how gameplay works. The video focused on collecting new Digimon, preparing them for fights, and working alongside them. All told, it spends almost six minutes covering everything.

The Digimon Story: Time Stranger video begins with one of the most critical elements of any Digimon video game, which is actually befriending new characters to use. This is done via scanning when you fight new or returning foes. You do end up with a guaranteed starter, but the footage shows how we generate data after analyzing characters we faced a lot. The Scan Rate needs to be at a minimum 100% to create one, but getting to 200% makes it stronger. We train them with Attachment Skills and equipment to make them stronger, building up their abilities and stats. Sending them to a farm lets them train without being on your team and alongside you. Anomaly Points we acquire as we play and fight can help us also get them new skills. Digivolution is possible to gain stronger forms, and you can reset them to try for a different evolution.

Here's the full Digimon Story: Time Stranger systems trailer that shows off the different types of gameplay elements.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICCFACvxF84

We can expect even more news and reveals about the game soon. Anime Expo is coming up on July 3-6, 2025, and Bandai Namco will attend and feature a booth. We will learn more about the series there, with Digimon Alysion already making a confirmed appearance. The Digimon Times June 2025 program noted Digimon Expo 25 will be held on September 20-21, 2025, and we should see the game there too.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 3, 2025.

See the Death Stranding 2 Pizza Chef Pac-Man Minigame

During the Death Stranding World Strand Tour 2 in Tokyo live showcase, Hideo Kojima and Mamoru Oshii also showed off the Pac-Man minigame present in the game. This is unlocked after reaching and spending time with The Pizza Chef prepper during the main campaign, whose character model is based on the Ghost in the Shell and Urusei Yatsura director.

During the presentation, we see the moment that Pac-Man becomes available. Sam is at The Pizza Chef's place and a pizza shaped like the Bandai Namco icon comes up. Sam eats a slice of it. We hear the sound effects from the game, and his Ring Terminal then shows the Pac-Man and Ready icons. We then get to see what it is like to play Pac-Man in-game, learn that eating BTs there eliminates them on the map, and see Bandai Namco actually allowed this. It's part of the 45th anniversary celebration.

Here's the full showcase that highlights the Pac-Man minigame at The Pizza Chef bunker in Death Stranding 2 from Kojima Productions' YouTube account. That part starts at the 1:19:38 mark.

https://youtu.be/yiRsfrNsA1Y?t=4778

And here are screenshots showing the Pac-Man-shaped pizza and the minigame.

This showcase didn't just feature Director Mamoru Oshii as a prepper. Hololive Vtuber Usada Pekora also made an appearance. She announced a Holo no Graffiti, the HoloGra ongoing web series starring characters, episode referencing the game. Gen Hoshino, who appears as a prepper and contributed music to the soundtrack, showed up after that.

ToHeart Remake DLC Will Include Serio and Masashi Routes

With the release of the new ToHeart remake, two new DLC routes will be added to the game next week on July 3, 2025. Additionally, the requirements for specific character routes have also been detailed.

With the ToHeart remake being based off of the PlayStation version of the game, the Ayaka Kurusugawa and Rio Hinayama routes included in that version are also available in this new release. In order to access Rio's route, players first need to complete Akari's scenario. Meanwhile, for Ayaka's route, players need to complete Serika's and Aoi's routes. Additionally, as this remake uses 3D character models and environments, a character model viewer mode is also available and can be unlocked after beating the main story of the game.

We know some of the details about the ToHeart DLC ahead of its debut. It will include two new routes focused on characters Masashi Sato and Serio, Multi's younger sister. The price of the DLC will be 550 yen (~$3.80).

The remake marks the first time that ToHeart will be released localized in English, and this version will also be localized in Chinese. The remake was originally announced in July 2024. Hololive Vtubers Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard (Fuwamoco) performed a cover of its theme song, "Feeling Heart." You can see that below.

I Love the Female Characters in Death Stranding 2

Whenever I head into a Hideo Kojima game, I wonder what will happen with the women within them. The titles can feature a lot of fanservice paired with flimsy excuses for that capitulation. (Quiet needs to wear a bikini and not talk for story reasons.) The original Death Stranding wasn't immune, thanks to a scene in which Fragile runs through pouring rain in a white tiny tank top and bikini-style underwear. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach marks a complete turnaround and pleasant surprise for all of its female characters, as they all are strong women who are handled well and wear reasonable outfits.

Editor's Note: There will be some spoilers for characters in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, but major ending reveals after Episode 13 do not appear.

Speaking of Fragile, Kojima Productions handles every element of her storyline in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach extraordinarily well. She remains an incredibly strong individual, even though Jumpshock keeps her from using the Beach for her teleporting. The story begins with her still working and in a position of power, even as Sam withdrew to devote himself to raising his daughter Lou. While she considers herself responsible for a tragedy early on tied to the child, she doesn't let that stop or change her. She's CEO of the company Drawbridge, which is now in charge of the Chiral Network expansion project. She is the leader onboard the DHV Magellan.

As part of that role, Kojima Productions goes out of its way to not only tell us all she's accomplished, but make her role a pivotal one in the stories of nearly every member of Drawbridge on the DHV Magellan. She is head of the company. She found Rainy, helped realize the exact nature of her DOOMS ability, and give her a new sense of place and purpose. She found Dollman, keeping him from being trapped in a tar pit for eternity. Once Tomorrow boards the ship, it is Fragile who ensures she is welcomed, aids Tarman in extracting her from the crysalis even though it puts her at risk, educates her alongside Rainy, and even works alongside her on a supplemental mission. It wouldn't be a stretch to say Fragile is more important to members on the crew than Sam, the "hero" of the adventure.

Rainy, though underutilized, is also a ray of sunshine in the cast. Her DOOMS means that timefall begins whenever she steps outside. However, the rain immediately in her vicinity features a unique property. Rather than hurting, it heals. It's why Fragile's body, aged from Timefall as a result of running nearly naked through a storm due to Higgs' machinations in the original Death Stranding, is completely recovered here in Death Stranding 2. While she is perpetually stuck at being seven months pregnant in the game due to the effects of the original game and current disruptions between the real world and the Beach, she's never shown to be a sidelined as a result. She's working in her own lab when we pick her up to join the crew. During major fires, she's making appearances on deck to assist. When Fragile and Tomorrow head out on a supply mission, she goes along. She may be pregnant, but she's an active, educated, capable individual doing fieldwork.

Speaking of pregnant women, I feel like Death Stranding 2: On the Beach handles the idea of motherhood and pregnancy than Kojima Productions did with Mama in Death Stranding. Even though Malingen ended up being a major scientist whose discoveries helped keep Sam going, she didn't get to be known by a name that highlighted that defining trait and skillset like many other characters. She was "Mama" because of the baby BT anchored to her. We meet multiple pregnant individuals as a result of the condition affecting some infants, and The Motherhood is a haven for them and The Doctor, a former member of Bridges who worked with Bridge Babiess and is able to use her DOOMS condition to assess the condition of these children and even allow their parents to briefly see and interact with them via BB pods. The people there are armed and capable of defending themselves. They have hope for tomorrow. They are the impetus for a mission to take down a factory to stop the flow of weapons into the region. I personally liked seeing some good come out of the BB and stillmother program, since the tools were being implemented here to allow desperate families reassurance that their babies were okay while waiting for a solution.

Speaking of the BBs, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is more critical of Bridges, stillmothers, and the system in a way I appreciate. I acknowledge the BBs ended up being a necessary evil in the original game for the sake of survival, but I also felt like it normalized that abuse. Here, there's no dispute about how problematic and horrific the program was. The segments with Neil Vana and his therapist Lucy show him breaking down over committing the monstrous act to survive, and we see him fight back against a Bridges authority and express his distaste and disgust for it. Similarly, Lucy's response to it all also highlights the sins Bridges committed.

I realize in all this that I haven't gotten to Tomorrow yet, the sole female member of the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach cast of characters with an outfit that isn't always appropriate for the setting. When found, she's in a white dress. Hardly conventional for exploring a country after an apocalypse or when fighting against enemies with tar-diving capabilities. However, she's never cast as a sex symbol. The outfit honestly provides sufficient coverage, not to mention she's also quickly covered in so much tar that it acts as a second skin. Once she's brought onboard the DHV Magellan, she's given a wardrobe of more appropriate attire for every situation, so we're honestly usually seeing her in an oversized jacket.

Moreover, Tomorrow ends up being one of the most physically strong and combat-ready members of the cast. Rainy points out at one point that she's the most adept shooter due to her time spent in the VR simulator. At one point when she briefly steps off the ship alone, we see that even though she did come from an otherworld, Beach-type setting, she's more than capable of using ladders and Timefall Shelters to stay safe in and traverse a hostile environment. For much of the game, she is the one beating up Higgs and other ghost mechs in a way Sam can't and isn't. One of my favorite lines and moments in the game is when she's heading out on a supply run mission with Fragile and Rainy. Sam expresses concern, since he's going out on a separate task far away from them. She assuages any concerns and points out "we're stronger than you are." Which is proven true for all three of these women throughout Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Each one's DOOMS abilities and other character traits mean they're stronger than Sam in different ways.

And in many ways, you can say that about a lot of the female members of the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach cast, as the women we meet throughout the campaign are all extraordinary individuals. Kojima Productions handled them well and with care. I think anyone who had concerns about portrayals after games like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and the original Death Stranding will be pleasantly surprised with how people are handled.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is available for the PS5.

Ruffy the Riverside Ruffy and Pix

It's been ages since I've dove deep into a 3D platformer. I grew up with several over the years, leaving me excited every time a new one launches. With Ruffy and the Riverside having a peculiar mix of hand-drawn 2D characters and 3D environments, it intrigued me from the get-go.

I was also a little scared, admittedly. For every incredible platformer I've played, I've tried just as many that fell flat or aggravated me beyond belief, leaving me apprehensive about what was to come here. Fortunately, while it wasn't quite a perfect experience, Ruffy and the Riverside was a joyful blast to the past that left me feeling satisfied, albeit bored at times.

Ruffy the Riverside characters
Screenshot by Destructoid

The highlight of Ruffy and the Riverside is Ruffy's swap ability, allowing you to switch textures around to solve puzzles and progress the story. One moment, you might be turning a waterfall into vines you can climb. A minute later, you might be transforming an entire ocean into lava. With enough creativity, you can make this chaotic and hilarious. For the most part, though, it's fairly tame.

The puzzles you encounter throughout Ruffy and the Riverside are also enjoyable, ranging from simplistic and straightforward to complex enough to stump even the most experienced puzzle solvers. You have to think (and swap) outside of the box for many of them. Sometimes, you'll have to take this literally by traversing a 2D box that requires jumping back into the 3D landscape for more swapping. It's a lot to take in, but Zockrates Laboratories manages to pull it off well.

Ruffy the Riverside puzzle
Screenshot by Destructoid

Along the way, you'll encounter various side quests and collectibles to pass the time, turning an otherwise short experience into a full-on collectathon. Although you can skip this entirely if you wish, those who thrive on traveling every nook and cranny of a world to find all of its secrets will love this.

All of this is tied together by an adorable, hand-drawn art style and an equally cutesy soundtrack that makes you feel like you're back in the '90s. Ruffy himself dances around the map throughout your travels, adding another layer to this lighthearted, carefree tale.

Ruffy the Riverside Ruffy the protagonist
Screenshot by Destructoid

At least, that's how it appears on the surface. In reality, you're quickly introduced to potential world-ending doom, with our titular character being the "Chosen One" to save the day. Although this sounds like an exciting catalyst for an adventure, it comes off more as a generic plot device we've seen time and time again.

I felt the urge to skip certain conversations, especially when characters would reiterate the same points about Ruffy being the only one who's capable of stopping the current situation. Some moments were quite funny, but most felt bland. Combining this with forgettable enemies that you'll just hit once or twice before moving on makes the overall storyline somewhat lackluster, despite the gameplay being very entertaining.

Ruffy and the Riverside has the pieces in hand, with an appealing artistic style and unique swapping mechanics paving the way for an in-depth puzzle game series. Although I didn't find its story or enemies particularly interesting, everything else about the title felt refreshing and fun, leaving me feeling hopeful that potential sequels can build upon this blueprint and create something truly captivating.

Promo art for Team 3 Shapeshifters in EA FC 25

The leaks for Shapeshifters Team 3 have started appearing on social media, and EA FC 25 players should be able to collect these cards pretty soon.

EA FC 25 Shapeshifters Team 3 release date

Team 3 will be released on Friday, June 27, as the official replacement of the second team. You can find them in-store packs and packs already available in your Ultimate Team inventory. The chances of obtaining higher-rated cards tend to be low, so don't expect to see many of them.

Completing the SBCs and objectives is a great idea if you want to rely less on luck. EA Sports has released plenty of special challenges and objectives in the last couple of weeks, and this trend should continue during week three of the promo.

Beavis and Butt-Head in Warzone

Beavis and Butt-Head are invading Call of Duty: Warzone in Season Four Reloaded, but it might not be happening in a traditional Solos playlist.

Activision revealed that "standard Solos has underperformed compared to other playlist options," confirming the reasoning behind its removal from Warzone in season four. It's instead been replaced by Casual Solos, which includes bots, but it's been returned to the game in a playlist update as of June 26. And yet, it can be removed again at any time.

But it's not all doom and gloom. Season Four Reloaded in Warzone does include some new content like new weapons, the return of Ranked Play in Resurgence mode, a new Perk, new equipment, and some new limited-time modes.

Here's what's to come in Season Four Reloaded of Warzone when it goes live on July 2.

Weapon buffs and nerfs

If you're sick of using and getting killed by the same handful of guns, the new update will hopefully bring some substantial weapon changes to shake up the meta. Check back here before the update's launch day on July 2 to see the details once they're revealed.

Rebirth Island Ranked Play

Resurgence Ranked Play is back on Rebirth Island, offering another ladder for players to climb when it comes to competitive Warzone. A unique set of rewards is available for those who rank up in the mode.

New weapons

The new Olympia shotgun will be a Special weapon, meaning it can slot into your Secondary slot in loadouts, making it a potential must-pick. The Pickaxe melee weapon is also being added. Both are unlockable as event rewards.

New equipment

The Care Package killstreak arrives in battle royale mode, bringing with it the chance for high-tier loot like the Specialist Perk, and two new additions:

  • Field Upgrade: Door Barricade

    • "Lock down coveted positions by fitting a barricade to a closed single or double door. Heavy-duty locks secure the barricade in place, holding steady except under the most severe bombardment."

  • Killstreak: Hand Cannon

    • "Wield the high-powered Hand Cannon, delivering devastating shots with a slow rate of fire complimented with good handling, improved hip fire accuracy, and a faster hip-fire shooting speed."

New Perk

  • Loot Master (Only in Resurgence and Plunder)

    • "Get more loot from supply caches. Simple and very effective. Found as ground loot in Resurgence and Plunder. This spawns additional items and gives a higher chance to find Tacticals and Lethals, cash, Field Upgrades, Killstreaks, and other high-tier gear."

New modes

  • Havoc Royale

    • "Drops Operators into specific areas of Verdansk—Downtown, Airport, or Train Station—with their loadout in hand. These modifiers can affect the player, environment, or the gameplay rules with origins in the Modern Warfare II and III Havoc modes but bringing the high-stakes environment and gameplay from Warzone. Adapt and survive through it all to claim victory as the last team standing!"

  • Resurgence Casual

    • "The Casual experience comes to Resurgence in the mid-season, mixing humans and bots in a fight to the finish. The main Resurgence ruleset applies, so do what it takes to stay alive and keep your squad redeploying. Drop in to warm up, teach a new player about the game, or just for a more relaxed Resurgence experience."

Beavis and Butt-Head

90s cartoon stars invade Warzone as part of both a limited-time event and store bundles. Skins can be bought or unlocked via the event, along with several weapons, attachments, and other cosmetics.

Beavis Butthead Bo6 Zombies

While all eyes are looking to Black Ops 7, there are still a few months' worth of juice left in Black Ops 6's live service calendar, including Season Four Reloaded.

The new midseason update launching on July 2 includes new content such as the Olympia shotgun and the return of a favorite Black Ops 3 map. It's also got a new collaboration featuring classic cartoon characters Beavis and Butt-Head, among others, new limited-time events, and a bunch of free unlockable rewards to add to your growing CoD collections.

Here's everything there is to know about the new content coming to BO6 as part of Season Four Reloaded.

Weapon balancing changes

Weapon buffs and nerfs are on the way to level the playing field when it comes to balancing on Ranked Play and other modes. Check back here closer to the update's launch on July 2 for full details once they're released.

Two new maps

Classic Black Ops 3 map Fringe returns as part of the update, along with a new small-sized map for two-vs-two or six-vs-six called Eclipse.

"Battle to the beat in this underground nightclub in Avalon where neon lights illuminate the halls and dance floor," Activision said. "Head straight to the middle to duke it out center stage or engage enemies down the sides, remaining watchful for enemy movement while passing the dining tables set along the way. Get a view over the action from the DJ Booth or set up in the corner Coat Check and tag passing targets."

Two new weapons

Olympia shotgun in Black Ops 6

The Olympia shotgun and Pickaxe melee weapon will be available in the update as event rewards.

"The iconic double-barreled Olympia returns for its Black Ops 6 debut, designated as a Special Weapon well-suited to close-quarters engagements as a handy secondary choice," Activision said. Fortnite key art Blitz Royale

If you haven't heard the name Jacob Wilson, you're either not a baseball fan, or you probably will be hearing about him very shortly.

The rookie shortstop for the Athletics (formerly Oakland, soon to be Las Vegas) is off to an incredible start in his Major League Baseball career. He's batting .347 (that's really good, best for second in the league behind only New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge) with nine home runs and 40 runs batted in, and is leading the league in All-Star Game votes for his position. And he says it's all because of Fortnite.

Fortnite Superman
Image vi Epic Games

That's right. According to a new interview with ESPN's Jeff Passan, Jacob Wilson starts every day with Fortnite on PC with a controller, and the stud right-handed hitter credits his years of playing the battle royale game for some of his success on the field with the best players in the world.

"I am a big believer in video games," Wilson said. "It's fast decision-making strategy. I think that gets me ready for the game, because when you're in the box, you have to process a lot. So there's some days where I'll wake up and I'll play video games and then I'll go to the field, and I'll have a good day. Some days I won't play and don't see the ball well. I think it really helps me train kind of the decision-making that I have to make six, seven hours later at the baseball field."

And Wilson isn't a noob, either, according to teammate Max Muncy, who said "if we play a game with me and him and guys we know and you kill him once, you're like, 'that's a good day.'"

Wilson is 23 years old, which makes total sense when you think about his Fortnite prowess. Fortnite: Battle Royale launched in 2017, making Wilson a teenager at the time, so he's been playing it throughout most of his teenage years and now into early adulthood. But the fact that he says it helps him be a potential All-Star baseball player is just awesome.

But that's also scary as hell, to me. We're entering a new era in the world where zoomers everywhere are about to take front and center on the world stage with their skibidi memes and Fortnite dances. Man, I'm old.

But I'm not as old as Wilson's father, Jack, who was an All-Star shortstop himself for the Pittsburgh Pirates that I used to watch growing up. Yeah, the guys I used to watch as a kid now have their own kids making a mark in the league. Man, I'm old.

"I do believe in the hand-eye coordination that video games give -- as long as you do your homework," Jack Wilson told Passan. "Kids, if you're reading, do your homework."

Shohei Ohtani Fortnite
Image via Epic Games

Previously, MLB star Shohei Ohtani became the first player from the league to get his own Fortnite skin. Maybe Wilson, if he continues his upwards trajectory as a player, could join him one day soon.

"Wilson has no plans to abandon his Fortnite reps," Passan said. "It's part of his training now, and even if it doesn't work for everyone, he sees Victory Royales leading to victories for the A's."

So, there you have it, kiddos. Keep on grinding BR and you, too, could be well on your way to making millions in the big leagues. Man, I'm old.

PEAK Shore level

There are ways to take your PEAK playthrough beyond just climbing up a few mountains and logging off. If you're looking for a challenge, you can set off on a mission to collect every badge, unlock every difficulty level, and more.

All PEAK achievements

PEAK features 32 badges you can collect across multiple runs. While some require reaching the end, others span across several playthroughs. You'll even find a mix of multiplayer and single-player challenges to tackle. Here's a complete list of PEAK's 32 badges and how to obtain them.

Badge Description How to unlock
Beachcomber Badge Climb past the SHORE. Climb to the top of SHORE's mountain and activate its campfire. You can reduce the difficulty to Tenderfoot to make this and subsequent badges easier to earn.
Trailblazer Badge Climb past the TROPICS. Climb to the top of the TROPICs mountain and activate its campfire.
Alpinist Badge Climb past the ALPINE. Climb to the top of ALPINE's mountain and activate its campfire.
Volcanology Badge Climb past the CALDERA. Climb across CALDERA's landscape and activate its campfire.
Peak Badge Reach the PEAK. Reach the end of PEAK's final level.
Esoterica Badge Obtain a mystical item. Find any of PEAK's legendary items by searching through luggage bags or Ancient Statues at the end of each level. Using an Ancient Statue with an eliminated player in your group will revive them instead of giving you an item.
Happy Camper Badge Receive five Morale Boosts from campfires. Interact with five campfires while playing in a multiplayer match. You'll need five campfires across at least two runs.
First Aid Badge Heal your friends for 100 points of injury in a single expedition. You can heal other players using Medkits or bandages.
High Altitude Badge Climb 5000m total. Continue playing through PEAK until you've climbed a total of 5,000 meters. You can complete this across multiple runs.
Plunderer Badge Open 15 luggages in a single expedition. Open every single luggage bag you encounter across each level. You need to accomplish this in a single run.
Emergency Preparedness Badge Heal an unconscious friend with an item to save them from death. If your friend is injured, use a Medkit. Otherwise, you can use items like Cure-All if they're affected by status effects.
Arborist Badge Reach the top of a really big tree. Reach the TROPICS level and climb any of the large trees you find throughout your run.
Foraging Badge Eat five different berries in a single expedition. Every level has several berry types you can consume, including poisonous variants that'll damage you but otherwise count toward this badge.
Participation Badge Have a friend escape the island without you. Have your character die and turn into a ghost before your run ends. From here, you just need a friend to reach the final level's peak and escape.
Clutch Badge Resurrect three scouts in a single expedition. You can only do this by visiting Ancient Statues at the tops of each level. You can use multiple statues across several levels but must complete this within one full run.
Endurance Badge Climb 50m upwards without touching the ground. Use consumables like Big Lollipops or energy drinks to raise your stamina and movement speed. From here, you need to climb up a wall without touching any flat surfaces. You can also use pitons, vines, or chains.
Cooking Badge Cook 20 meals at campfires. Bring any item to campfires, ideally food, and cook them. Continue this process until you cook 20 total items.
Survivalist Badge Escape the island without ever losing consciousness. Complete a run without succumbing to any status effects or taking too much fall damage.
Animal Serenading Badge Play the bugle for a capybara. You'll find a bugle at the plane's crash site when you begin SHORE. Bring the bugle with you to ALPINE before searching for a hot spring containing several capybaras. You can also use the Bugle of Friendship or Scoutmaster's Bugle if you have them.
Bing Bong Badge Help Bing Bong escape the island. You'll find Bing Bong at the plane's crash site when you begin SHORE. Bring Bing Bong to the end and escape the island with the plushie still on your person.
Toxicology Badge Restore 200 total poison by using items. Use Antidotes, Medkits, and Cure-All to heal status effects. You'll find poisonous jellyfish and plants within SHORE, while TROPICS has multiple poisonous plants and consumable items.
Mentorship Badge Have a 1-on-1 with the Scoutmaster. The easiest way to do this is to play in multiplayer and have one person reach the level's peak while another stays at the bottom. Only the host will earn the achievement through this method, though. In singleplayer, you can use the Scoutmaster's Bugle to summon the Scoutmaster.
Bouldering Badge Place 10 pitons. You'll find pitons inside luggage bags. Obtain some and place them on any wall. You can complete this across multiple runs.
Lone Wolf Badge Escape the island in a solo expedition. Complete the final level in a solo playthrough without other players.
Speed Climber Badge Escape the island in under an hour. Spend time learning a day's map, its most optimal routes, and ways to utilize certain items to make traversal easier. Maps reset daily, giving you only one day to learn before having to start from scratch with a new layout. This can also depend on luck with what items you get from luggage bags and Ancient Statues.
Mycology Badge Eat four different non-toxic mushrooms in a single expedition. Mushrooms spawn in the SHORE and TROPICS. There are seven variants, with four being non-toxic and three being poisonous. You can find out their differences through your in-game guidebook or our breakdown of which PEAK mushrooms are poisonous.
Balloon Badge Escape the island without taking fall damage. Be very careful as you travel around each level to avoid accidentally falling off ledges. Tenderfoot is much more forgiving with fall damage, making this achievement much easier.
Naturalist Badge Escape the island without eating any packaged food. Only eat foraged goods like berries, mushrooms, honeycombs, and eggs. You can also eat marshmallows you find at campfires.
Gourmand Badge Escape the island after cooking and eating a coconut half, a honeycomb, a yellow winterberry, and an egg. You can find coconuts in the SHORE and TROPICS and honeycomb in the TROPICS. Yellow Winterberries spawn in ALPINE, while eggs appear in CALDERA.
Leave No Trace Badge Escape the island without placing anything on the mountain. Don't place any pitons, ropes, or chains as you progress through each level. If you're in multiplayer, everyone has to abide by this for you to receive the badge.
Knot Tying Badge Place 100m of rope in a single expedition. Loot luggage bags and take any spool of rope, including rope cannons, you find. Use them in their entirety until you place 100 meters total.
Bookworm Badge Read all of Scoutmaster Myre's journal entries. Myre's journal entries spawn at campfires. Inspect each entry, repeating this for each campfire. You'll need to do this across multiple maps, but you can end a run after reading CALDERA's entry to save time.

Sam Porter Brides and Bridge Baby

The latest title from legendary game creator Hideo Kojima has arrived, and it's looking like another excellent addition to his repertoire.

Kojima has worked on many games throughout his illustrious career, but just a few all have the special treatment of being directed, designed, and written by the legend. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is the latest such game to have this honor, and it's gotten very high review scores nearly across the board.

Sam exploring world in Death Stranding
Image via KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS

But it's impossible to talk about Kojima without discussing the incredible series he brought to life, Metal Gear. Starting in 1987, Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid have spanned decades, creating some of the most memorable and iconic moments in gaming. After his unfortunate fallout with Konami, he went on to found Kojima Productions and release Death Stranding in 2019 ahead of its sequel this week.

But Kojima has also done way more than MGS and Death Stranding. Policenauts, Snatcher, Zone of the Enders, Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand, and several other titles have gotten Kojima's love over the years. And this begs the question: what's Kojima's best game? Or at least, what's your favorite?

For myself, it begins and ends with MGS, even if I do consider the first Death Stranding to be something of a misunderstood masterpiece. It's a toss-up for me between MGS1, MGS2, and MGS3, but I also have huge places in my heart for MGS4, MGS5, and MGS: Peace Walker as well. I even have an Outer Heaven logo tattooed on my upper left arm.

Kojima can be polarizing. His style of writing and game design may not be for everyone, and that's fine. I'm a fan myself, but I can totally understand how his work can be offputting or uninteresting to some, but his work is worth discussing either way.

And so now I ask you, dear reader, what do you think is Hideo Kojima's best work? Answer our poll and discuss it in the comments below.

A large yellow Palworld creature holding an LMG

One of the fantastic additions to the Palworld Tides of Terraria update is the ability to recruit Zoe and her pet Grizzbolt as your companions to accompany you on your adventures.

You will no longer have to depend on backdoor methods that trap a human in a Palsphere. Instead, you can complete her quests to impress her to join your cause. This guide will provide you with all the necessary information.

How to add Zoe as an ally in Palworld

The first task is to find her in the Desolate Church to begin the quest. But you also must have defeated her in the Rayne Syndicate Tower as a Raid Boss to access her quest line. Her questline has three tasks:

  • Speak with her after summoning a Grizzbolt
  • Capture or defeat five Free Pal Alliance members
  • Find her Tattered Memento and return it to her

Desolate Church in Palworld which is Zoe's location
Screenshot by Destructoid

Speak with Zoe after summoning Grizzbolt

For this task, you'll have to first catch a Grizzbolt from Wildlife Sanctuary No. 1 and then add it to your party. Next, go to Zoe, where she's located (Desolate Church), and summon the Grizzbolt before speaking with her. Incidentally, the Grizzbolt you get from the boss battle doesn't count for this part, so you'll need to capture a spare one from the location I have mentioned here.

Capture or defeat five Free Pal Alliance members

The best location for spotting Free Pal Alliance Members is the region north of the Desolate Church. There, you'll find the Bridge of Twin Knights. Go past it, and you'll find five Free Pal Alliance Members. Eliminate or capture them and report back to Zoe.

Find Zoe's Tattered Memento

Zoe's memento location in the Ruins in Palworld
Screnshot by Destructoid

The memento can be found in Fort Ruins. It's actually a white colored blanket belonging to Zoe. Take the item back to her in the Desolate Church. She will then ask if she can join up as your ally.

You can add Zoe to your party just like you add any other pal. Incidentally, she will always have her pet Grizzbolt accompanying her in all adventures, so it's a huge bonus to have. Hopefully, we will be able to add more bosses as allies in future Palworld updates.

luffy one piece

I realize that discussing this topic might stir up some strong opinions, but it has been on my mind for quite some time as a member of Destructoid. I finally received the green light to write about it, so let's delve into the debate over which is better for anime fans: subbed or dubbed.

It's a debate old as time, and fans will have differing preferences no matter who you ask.

For some, dubbed is something they grew up on, and they love hearing popular voice actors like Christopher Sabat (Vegeta, Zoro), Colleen Clinkenbeard (Luffy, Erza), or classic voice actors like Veronica Taylor (Ash Ketchum). Others don't like the idea of reading while watching a show due to the lack of immersion, upon other complaints.

And for subbed fans, it's about having that authentic experience and hearing the show as it was made in Japan, or wanting to watch shows as they release instead of waiting for the dub to catch up. Some shows also don't get dubbed at all, so having a preference for subbed opens you up to a lot more anime content than those without a dubbed version.

Sometimes you might also fall into a special category of liking one or the other, depending on which show you are watching, but for those that have a preference for both subbed and dubbed, I want to ask you which of the two you prefer, even if it's marginal.

No matter what you prefer, though, both offer a gateway into enjoying anime for different types of people. So no matter which one you prefer, we can still all talk and enjoy the shows for what they are.

Either way, I want to hear your thoughts on the debate in the comments below, and which you prefer and for what reason? I'm a subbed lover myself, but I do find myself listening to some dubbed shows like the original Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, as I was brought up with that original voice cast, so hearing the Japanese doesn't sound right in my head.

marvel mystic mayhem hero tier list and reroll guide

Updated on June 26, 2025: Adjusted the tier list and Reroll guide for post release.

There's a lot of heroes in Marvel Mystic Mayhem and you have a limited team size so let's analyze each hero to look for the best ones. I'll also provide tips for each hero as well as best Artifacts, Highlights, and synergies. We'll finish off with a Reroll guide since starting out with a strong hero helps a ton early. Here's my Marvel Mystic Mayhem tier list and Reroll guide.

Marvel Mystic Mayhem Hero Tier List

marvel mystic mayhem hero tier list best heroes
Reasons Below - Image by Destructoid

The best heroes in Marvel Mystic Mayhem are usually those that excel in their own class category and specialize in a certain area. For Defenders you want great tankiness and taunts, for Strikers and Fighters you want great damage and mobility, and for Controllers you want either great healing or excellent utility and crowdcontrol. I'll analyze each hero below but ranking reasons and tips. Legendary Artifacts are always a must but below I'll list the best Epic Artifacts since they're easier to get. The tier breakdowns are as follows:

  • S-Tier: Universally the best options for each Class with the best damage, tanking, healing, and utility.
  • A-Tier: The best alternative to S-Tier heroes that still pack a lot of power.
  • B-Tier: Heroes that either shine in a specific build or struggle to fit in a wider variety of teams.
  • C-Tier: Heroes that are inflexibile and good in specific scenarios but overall underpowered.

Let's dive into ranking reasons and tips for each hero below.

Ambition
The Worthy Ones
By Cyttorak's Command

Storm
Striker
Mutation
Legendary
• She's lower than other Legendaries due to her lower overall DPS
• Storm's usefulness comes from stacking debuffs on enemies, benefitting from her later passives and activating debuff effects with her abilities
• She goes well with other Heroes who can apply AOE debuffs to further increase Storm's utility and damage from her passives
Best Artifacts:
The Hand's Shuriken
Unstable Molecules
Midnight Gun
S.H.I.E.L.D Flight Pack
Best Highlights:
Fight as One
Friends on Street
Raise Like the Pheonix
Make a Dream

C-Tier Heroes

Hero Ranking Reason Tips

Falcon
Controller
Concussive
EpicEpic
• Falcon is all about Exposed Weakness to increase enemy Physical damage taken
• Other than that his Mobility is great but he falls short in other aspects
• His ultimate puts him in melee range but he's generally squishy
• A weird mix of DPS, mobility and debuffs that don't really complement each other
Best Artifacts:
Avengers ID Card
The Hand's Shuriken
Unstable Molecules
Best Highlights:
Ancient Frontier
No Strings on Me
Guardian of Reality
Weavers of Dream

Thread
Striker
Mystic Arts
Epic
• Thread is excellent in a summon based team comp with Moon Girl
• Otherwise his DPS is lackluster so he's a very specific hero
• That said, the Threadlings can help tank some damage so there's a bit of utility to Thread as well
Best Artifacts:
Gamma Mutagen
Avengers ID Card
Unstable Molecules
Undriarn
Best Highlights:
Fight as One
Friends on Street
A Hired Blade
Ancient Allies

Dreamqueen
Controller
Mystic Arts
Epic
• Dreamqueen does great damage and has a good team skill dmg buff but it really hurts that she lacks any strong CC or healing
• You can make an excellent DPS comp with her but you'll struggle on harder modes without healing if she's your only Controller
Best Artifacts:
Avengers ID Card
Gamma Mutagen
Unstable Molecules
Best Highlights:
Ancient Frontier
No Strings on Me
Guardian of Reality
Weavers of Dream

Mister Negative
Fighter
Mystic Arts
Epic
• Very inflexibile hero that requires a specific comp with debuff heroes since his damage scales with debuffs
• Works best with Storm and/or Spiderman
• Can deal incredible burst damage with stacked debuffs
• Otherwise he's not the best
Best Artifacts:
Gamma Mutagen
The Hand's Shuriken
Unstable Molecules
Best Highlights:
The Worthy Ones
Touched by Khonshu
Rising from Ashes
Hear Me Roar

Man-Thing
Controller
Mutation
Epic
• Similar to Thread Man-Thing is quite a specific Hero that shines in a summon team comp
• Extremely strong with Thread and Moon Girl
• Otherwise mediocre
Best Artifacts:
Force Field Glove
Avengers ID Card
Undriarn
Best Highlights:
Ancient Frontier
Guardian of Reality
Vow to Protect
Adapt and Evolve

Marvel Mystic Mayhem Reroll Guide

  • marvel mystic mayhem reroll guide
  • how to reroll in marvel mystic mayhem

There are three things you need to know about Marvel Mystic Mayhem's Reroll system including how to reroll (Step 3):

  1. Gacha Unlocks at Level 10: Getting to Level 10 unlocks the Gacha Banners and supplies you with the needed materials to call. You can do this via Story missions and Daily missions which takes around 15 to 20 minutes. Make sure to disable ultimate animations if you're rerolling because this drastically speeds up the game. You can do this by going to the Three Vertical Lines Top Right > Settings > Battle Tab > Do Not Play Ultimate Move Full Animation.
  2. Banners to Spin On & Which Heroes to Get: You'll be stocked with a decent amount of resources to call via Team Level, Daily Missions, Story, and Codes (Found Below). Then, I recommend skipping the Iron Man Forge the Future banner and rolling on the other banner since this is where you'll have more Shadow Keys for more calls. Look for Heroes like Juggernaut for tanking, Doctor Strange for Controllers, Thor for Fighters, and Scarlet Witch to Strikers. Path to Legends can aslo get you a guaranteed S-Tier character after 40 calls. It really helps to get one of these heroes to start and it's worth Rerolling your account for them (See below).
  3. How to Reroll (Image Above): If you're not happy with what you got you can reroll your account and repeat the 15 to 20 minute grind to get to Level 10 again. Here's how:

    • Tap the three vertical lines in the top right.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Tap User in the lower left.
    • Go to the last tab on the left.
    • Tap Continue on Start a new game.

That's it for my Marvel Mystic Mayhem tier list and reroll guide. Don't forget to claim our Marvel Mystic Mayhem codes for free goodies.
