How To Sneak & Stealth In Wasteland 3
Initiating combat is dangerous in Wasteland 3. This How To Sneak & Stealth In Wasteland 3 explains the basics of initiating combat so that you're able to start each fight on your terms, removing the enemies ability to take several actions before you're able to fire off a single shot.
The actual art of sneaking and stealth, as skills in Wasteland 3, do not exist. There are basic stealth mechanics that are easy to follow. When you approach enemies there is a large red circle around them. This is their area of suspicion. When you are within that red circle, a small icon appears over your head that gradually fills. When that meter is filled, you are detected and the fight starts. If you begin a fight in this manner, the enemy team will usually get a full turn before you're able to act.
How To Sneak & Stealth In Wasteland 3
To sneak in Wasteland 3 is more about placement. When you are running around exploring, you can select the Toggle Group Select option. This removes control over all characters but one. You can use this system to carefully place your characters behind cover and in advantageous positions before the fight begins. Then, if you initiate the fight correctly, you can get a starting turn before your enemies.
After you have placed your troops where you want them, you need to attack. It's usually a good idea to initiate with a strong attack. A grenade, heavy weapon, anything that does a decent amount of damage. You need to use the "Attack Mode" option, which is Triangle on PS4. And then quickly shoot an enemy before you are detected.
The person that does the attack will have the AP reduced for their turn but after that, all of your characters will get a turn in normal turn order.
It's not exactly the type of sneak and stealth we were hoping for, but there is still an art to initiating encounters. Using the tips above, you should find each combat far more enjoyable.

How To Heal & Revive In Wasteland 3
Whatever character you create and team you make, there's going to be some damage involved. This guide on How To Heal & Revive In Wasteland 3 will tell you the different methods of healing your team as well as how to bring them back from the brink of death.
There are three primary methods of healing your characters in Wasteland 3. The easiest to use would be a Doctor, who you can recruit to your Ranger HQ after you complete the mission Full House. There are also Doctors you can find in other areas of the game world but they all do the same thing. For a certain price, free if it's at Ranger HQ, they will heal your team to full and remove all injuries. Note, if you are playing multiplayer, you will have to heal each squad individually, so you'll have to pay for the healing twice.
How To Heal & Revive In Wasteland 3
The other two methods are going to be in combat and out of combat. Out of combat is simple, you open the inventory menu and select the appropriate character. Then simply highlight the medical item you wish to use, select it, and choose "Use on Self". As long as the character has the appropriate First Aid level, they can use the medicine to heal.In-combat is slightly different. First you need to equip the item from the inventory into one of your Quickslots. Most characters only begin with 2. You can then use the item wheel in-combat to select the item and use it to heal. Most healing items are self targeting but Healing Darts and Medpacks can be used on other characters.
Reviving is much of the same but it does require Action Points. When it's your characters turn, highlight your incapacitated ally. The cost of the revive will be displayed. If you have enough AP, simply select the action and the character will be revived.

How To Upgrade & Build A Bamboo Boat In Windbound
Once you find some Bamboo, you can upgrade your boat. This guide on How To Upgrade & Build A Bamboo Boat In Windbound explains how you can piece together the Bamboo Deck and Bamboo Hull so you can have a much bigger boat, allowing for additional storage and a portable campfire.
There may be multiple methods and arrangements when building a better boat but I struggle with slotting together the different pieces. So below is a breakdown, a step by step process, on exactly how you can upgrade your boat to have more space. It's a good idea to save before you try to build a new boat but there is a "Dismantle" option in the Boat Crafting menu, that will allow you to get your resources back if you make a mistake or something goes wrong.
- Construct a Bamboo deck and place it in the water
- Make a Bamboo Hull and make sure it connects with the Deck
- Make another Bamboo Hull and make sure it connects
Step One – Building A Bamboo Deck
Firstly, you need to build a Bamboo deck. Make sure you place it on the water but not too far out. It's very light and can get carried away with the current quite quickly. It doesn't really matter where it's placed so long as it's on the water.
Step Two – Building A Bamboo Hull
Then you need to select to build a Bamboo Hull. You cannot place this piece of the boat by itself, you can only place it when it connects directly to a Bamboo Deck. It's very finicky, so it may take a few tries before it connects. As you can see above, it's connected when it's green. It looks as though it will build under the ground but I didn't have any issues with it.
Step Three – Building Another Bamboo Hull
Build another Bamboo Hull in much the same way and connect it to the other side. You can then use both sides of the boat and the deck to craft additional storage pots or a campfire so you can cook on the go. It does feel a little slower than just the single canoe, but it's worth the additional storage. I didn't have the materials for sails but they will likely help too.
And there you have it, everything you need to know to upgrade and build your bamboo boat in Windbound.

Where To Find Food In Windbound
Finding and cooking food is vital for your survival. This guide on Where To Find Food In Windbound offers a basic introduction to the many different sources of food you will find during your early adventures through the first chapter of Windbound.
Windbound has two different difficulty settings. Story and Survival. In Survival if you die, you return to the beginning of the game, retaining only your Sea Shards, Blessings and Held items. In Story, dying is far less punishing as you simply return to the island and can continue where you left off. So if you're playing Survival, you want to make sure you have a good supply of food but don't waste too much time gathering too much – it decays over time and rots if not eaten.
This list is not exhaustive, there are other food sources later in the game. This focuses primarily on the items you will want to search for in Chapter 1. Once you learn the basics at the start of the game, the following chapters become much easier to understand.
Food Sources In Windbound
- Check the big thick trees for mushrooms on the trunk
- Berries and mushrooms can be found on bushes and on the ground
- Killing animals gives meat, the bigger animals give much better meat
- Fishing is tough but a well placed arrow can net you some fish
Where To Find Food In Windbound – Berries
Berries are a very basic source of food, only offering a small boost to health and stamina levels. However, they are common in the earlier levels. It's always best, when you reach an island, to wait until you're about to leave before looting all the food. This way it lasts much longer in your bag. You can also eat the items directly if your inventory is full.
Where To Find Food In Windbound – Mushrooms
Mushrooms can be found throughout most of the chapters in Windbound. The earlier ones always grow on the trunk of these huge, brown trees. Later chapters can have mushrooms also growing on the floor but to start out, you'll want to check these tree trunks for some mushrooms.
Where To Find Food In Windbound – Fishing
Not really something you can plan. Fish appear to be quite rare. Whenever I went to find one, I couldn't, but I would sometimes see one in the water as I approached a new island. They are difficult to hunt, nearly impossible without a bow and arrow, but it works in a pinch.
Where To Find Food In Windbound – Animals
Your primary source of food throughout Windbound are the wild life. This is down to two major reasons. Meats offer the biggest bonus to your health and stamina, and animals respawn over time – but other resources do not appear to respawn. The smaller animals can often be killed with a knife, saving the durability of your weapons, but you'll need some skill and a spear for the bigger animals.
That should cover all your basic food needs early in your Windbound adventure. If you have any questions, post a comment below.

Windbound Chapter 1 Walkthrough Guide
Lost and struggling on where to go in Windbound? This Windbound Chapter 1 Walkthrough Guide will explain the basics of the game and how you are meant to progress through the first Chapter as although there are no objective markers or hints, there's a clear route to follow.
It's important to note that Windbound has a randomly generated map each time you play. As such, your islands and the items on those islands will always be at least a slightly bit different. Therefore it's impossible to tell you exactly where to go, but the basic outline of the objectives in Chapter 1 is always the same.
Step One
Your first island is always two tiny islands split by a small body of water. When you first arrive there are two stone-like constructions that you need to interact with. The first one is story related and will never need to be used again. The other is one of the three keys you need to finish Chapter 1. Once you have found your first key you will need to look for other islands.
Step Two
The second island is always visible from the starting island, as are the other islands usually. There is often a couple of islands that do not have the stone structures. They are good for resources and food but are not required for the objectives. Once you've found your second island, climb the stone structure and interact to get your 2nd key.
Step Three
The third island can be difficult to locate but it's worth noting that it will always be visible from another island – or something will to encourage you to explore in that direction. You do not need to just sail blindly into the blue, you should see something that takes you in the right direction.
Step Four
The final objective is the single, largest stone structure in the entire region. You have to follow the stone path up to the top and activate the blue stones on the way to access the next path up. As long as you have three keys, you can open all three paths and reach the end of this section.
That should be enough to get you through the first chapter and explain the basic objectives of the game.

How To Increase Life In Windbound
Death has a huge penalty in Windbound so you'll want as much life as possible. This guide on How To Increase Life In Windbound will tell you what to search for in order to increase your maximum life pool, making the survival aspect of Windbound much, much easier.
In Survival mode, if you die, you restart the game. You keep your Blessings, your held items and the knowledge you have gained, but you lose everything else. As such, anything that increases your ability to survive is a huge bonus. Some of the more challenging enemies can be very difficult to take down the first time you encounter them, as you learn the patterns and weaknesses of each enemy. A bigger life pool allows for a few more mistakes and a bit of wiggle room when fighting the tougher enemies.
How To Increase Life In Windbound
This is exactly what you are looking for in Windbound, to increase your maximum life pool. Small red shrines that contain a red crystal. Interact with the shrines and you will get a small but permanent boost to your HP for that run. Windbound has randomly generated maps each time you play, so while it's impossible to give you exact locations, there's some tips to help you find them.
You will sometimes find them on the main islands you explore, but they are very rare. They are much more common off the beaten track. This doesn't mean you sail into the blue in the random hopes of finding one, but you will need to explore.
As you reach each island, make sure to be constantly scanning the horizon. Windbound gives you small but clear hints on areas you can reach. You may notice a small rock standing alone out in the distance, a tiny island, a coral reef that stands out. If you keep checking the horizon while exploring each island and when traveling between them, you should be able to find some increase in life shrines quite easily.

Windbound Bestow Blessing Guide
One of Windbound's rogue-like features are Blessings. This Windbound Bestow Blessing Guide explains what selecting Bestow Blessing does as you may be a little unsure whether you are wasting your buff for another mechanic hidden within the game.
If you're a player with any amount of common sense, you will likely completely understand what the Bestow Blessing does. However, I did not at first and it took me so long to get through the first couple of chapters, I was concerned I was throwing away buffs and bonuses for something I didn't understand. So, if you're anything like me and aren't quite sure, fear not.
Windbound Bestow Blessing Guide
When you complete each chapter there's a short water sequence. The first is rather lovely, minimal risk and some great waves to set the tone – all supported by a lovely soundtrack. However, the latter stages do add some difficulty with sharks and reefs that can essentially completely destroy your ship. So be careful when going through these parts.
At the end of the short sail you're given a choice of two blessings that you can unlock. After purchasing your selected blessing, the other becomes unavailable to choose so you must move on. Just above the blessing area is a stone pedestal that you can interact with. This is where you can Bestow a Blessing.
I really wasn't sure what I was doing here so I didn't choose a blessing and I progressed normally. To nobodies surprise, it means you don't get the blessing on the next run. So, when you are on the Bestow a Blessing platform, the blessing you select is the blessing that is active for the next chapter.
It was probably just me but thought I'd put this up in case anyway else had the same derp moment.
