| PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 7:48 AM | | Searching for the best EM2 loadout in Warzone? It's always difficult for developers to get weapon balancing perfect, which is why a lot of Warzone guns either feel over or underpowered at launch. The EM2 is the latest assault rifle to join the battle royale game's arsenal, and it looks like this weapon may find its way onto our best assault rifles in Warzone list. If you experiment with the stock EM2, you probably won't think much of the weapon due to its incredibly slow aim down sight speed. Though the damage output is impressive, there's almost no point in using the gun if you can't line up a shot. In Warzone, standing still for three seconds is essentially a death sentence. Fortunately, we can drastically improve this weapon with some vital attachments. Now that Warzone Season 6 is out, the method to add the weapon to your arsenal has changed slightly. Here's what you need to do to unlock the EM2 assault rifle in multiplayer or Warzone: using assault rifles, rapidly kill two or more players in 15 different completed matches. Here's everything you need to build the best EM2 loadout in Warzone.

| PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 7:41 AM | | Word of AMD's Zen 4 has dominated the rumour mill lately, with leaks suggesting plans for a 16-core gaming laptop CPU. However, AMD's Ryzen 7000 series isn't the only processor in the pipeline, as the red team is also working on a new Zen 3+ lineup. Thanks to a new userbenchmark listingfor an unreleased Corsair Xenomorph AIO gaming PC, we now know that AMD could be cooking up a Zen 3+ APU with DDR5 support and Navi 2 graphics that could go up against Intel's Iris Xe DG1 iGPU. Spotted by Benchleaks, the Ryzen 6000 APU features 8 cores with 16 threads and boost clock speeds up to 3.9GHz. The Corsair PC itself pairs the processor with 16GB of SODIMM DDR5 memory at 4800Mbps, meaning the build probably uses a mobile Rembrandt-H or Rembrandt-U APU. The gaming CPU also comes with an integrated RDNA 2 GPU, but its exact configuration and spec has yet to be confirmed. That said, the userbenchmark tests show that the AMD iGPU surpassed Intel's Iris Xe DG1 and Nvidia's GeForce MX350 in the lighting, reflection, and gravity tests, but team blue's graphics offering managed to come out on top in MRender tests by a significant margin. | PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 7:24 AM | | Picking up the best gaming chair is an expensive endeavour, especially if you're looking for a stylish and ergonomic seat that can handle long sessions at your gaming PC. While opting for a generic office chair could keep things cheap, specialised seats by reputable brands are an investment, one that will last longer and keep your gaming desk setup comfortable. Thankfully, there are gaming chair deals out there, and Amazon currently has 20% off Razer's Iskur. Over on Amazon US, you can grab $100 off the Razer Iskur gaming chair, bringing things down from $499.99 to a comfy $399.99. The seat's price is also slashed over on Amazon UK, with a 38% discount bringing it down from £499.99 to £309.98. If you're familiar with Razer's lineup of peripherals and products, you'll instantly recognise the Iskur's signature look and bold headrest logo. However, while this gaming chair is certainly a looker, aesthetics aren't the only thing it has to offer, as the chair comes with specifically engineered foam padding, a multi-layer synthetic leatherette exterior, a fully adjustable lumbar support system, and 4D armrests, making this one of the most customisable gaming chairs on the market. | PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 7:14 AM | | What is the Minecraft grindstone recipe? If you need to repair your items quickly, here's a guide to crafting a Minecraft grindstone and how it differs from a Minecraft anvil and enchanting table. A Minecraft grindstone is a type of block naturally generated in Minecraft villages, specifically in the village blacksmiths. To use a Minecraft grindstone, you'll need to combine two items of the same type, forging a new item with the combined durability plus 5% up to the maximum durability of that specific item type. This consumes both items in the process, and all enchantments are removed, returning the enchantment cost to you in the form of handy experience points. A Minecraft grindstone can also be used to remove all non-curse enchantments from a single item. Simply place your enchanted item in either input slot, and it will disenchant. The Minecraft grindstone will also remove any prior work penalty from items, except cursed items. It's all quite simple once you know what you're doing. | PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 6:50 AM | | Civilization 6 is a great 4X game that can give you countless hours of fun, even playing it solo against the AI, and the various Civ 6 leaders help make it a consistently diverse experience. If you're lucky enough to have friends who also like playing the game and who can commit to regular play sessions, then this turn-based strategy epic becomes truly transformative. 'Competitive' Civ isn't really a thing in the same way it is in mainstream esports, but there is a certain objective truth to every civilisation and leader. Some are good, some are bad, many are situational. We've already got an excellent list of the best Civ 6 civilisations across the various victory types, as well as a guide to all of the different agendas in Civ 6 when playing against the AI. For this latest guide, we've taken a look at the various leader options through the lens of multiplayer. Credit to reddit users Riparian_Drengal, Kirbylover314, and Flyingpengguins, we've used their own excellent multiplayer tier guide as a basis for our own rankings. There is also this guide from user Lpexlaheavy, so there's plenty of other theory crafting out there if you want to go have a look. Additionally, thanks to boesthius and peppermint_butler, whose post-April 2021 balance patch tier lists provided additional insights. | PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 6:35 AM | | If you walk into seemingly any corner shop in England and head to the refrigerators you'll find rows upon rows of energy drinks. Vile cans with gaudy packaging and nonsensical extreme sports affiliates, loaded with so much sugar that even your teeth feel like they're buzzing after a few gulps. One of the biggest brands is Monster, and you'll recognise its logo - three vertical claw marks, often in neon green against a black background - in countless places outside of corner shops, including motorsports events, the UFC, and in esports. It's also one of the only available beverages in the world of Death Stranding, and protagonist Sam Porter Bridges drinks gallons of it. Given that the PS5-exclusive Death Stranding Director's Cut ditches the Monster branding all together, it'd be nice to see an option on PC that lets us do the same. There are cutscenes in Death Stranding that are punctuated by voyeuristic shots that linger on the glistening aluminium cans for what feels like an eternity. They're so on the nose that it might be more subtle to have Billy Mays shouting "buy now!" from a pop-up message. | PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 7:12 AM | | A whole host of games are getting spooky for Halloween, and now it's GTA Online's turn. The weekly reset has come and gone, so players are digging in to see what's new, and lots of them are coming across suitably ghoulish content. Rockstar Games will have the official rundown on its Newswire later today, but the content is already in the game. Rockstar tipster Tez2 shares on Twitter that you've got your usual clothing options alongside Halloween free mode events like Phantom Car, Slashers, and UFO Business Battles - here are some of the event requirements. The Camhedz arcade machine is also now available. If you're looking to raise extra funds, Alien Survival missions and Halloween modes like Come Out To Play and Condemned & Slasher are paying out double the usual rewards. Tez also shares that the second stage of the daily UFO event is live, so today (October 21) you'll want to head to the Sandy Shores airfield. Tez notes that the UFO will "show up around Blaine County within the next few days" and that it "seems to be getting closer to the city". RELATED LINKS: GTA 5 mods, GTA 6, Buy GTA V

| PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 6:03 AM | | An indie developer is teaming up with Jagex to publish his Runescape-inspired idle game under its publishing banner. Currently in Early Access, Melvor Idle takes Runescape's core elements and boils them down into something more accessible for those on the go. According to Jagex, it's been downloaded more than 600,000 times across Steam, App Store, and Google Play. Melvor Idle creator Brendan Malcolm tells us that he's been playing Runescape since 2006 but slowly struggled to find the time to jump back in as he got older due to life commitments like holding down a full-time job. "I wanted to create something similar to Runescape that was suitable for someone like me who didn't have the time to actively play a game," Malcolm says. "That's where the idea of turning Runescape into an idle game came to life." There's only so much, though, that you can bring over to an idle game from an MMORPG. When deciding what to keep and what to leave behind, Malcolm tells us that he relied on a personal approach of amplifying the parts of the game he enjoyed. You've still got Runescape's setting, skills, combat, and mechanics, but Malcolm has distilled it into an idle game akin to Clicker Heroes and Egg Inc. | PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 5:59 AM | | So, you want to know about political games? Political simulations often have the same alluring attraction as war games and strategy games. The average person likes to test their mental prowess to see if they can do better than their real-world counterparts, or perhaps exert some control over a digital space that resembles their own situation as a way of coping with life's trials. Either way, there is an addictive quality to them that's unlike the rush you get from shooters or RPGs, although the escapism is no less real. Whether you're setting economic and trade policies, standing strong on the international stage, or leading a nation through a war or some other crises, there's plenty of things to keep an eye on in a genre that attempts to model every facet of what goes into running a nation. For our list of top political game picks, we've more or less focused on government simulation games rather than games that instead try to recreate or push a specific political agenda - there's plenty of really interesting options in that latter category, such as Papers Please or America's Army, but they deserve a dedicated piece. That said, we have included one or two exceptions that really stand-out. Enjoy!

| PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 6:50 AM | | What are the best upcoming games to keep an eye on this year and the next? Hope, anticipation, agony, and elation - it's the endless cycle of emotions we go through during the annual PC release schedule. Year in, year out, games - via Steam and otherwise - are produced in such varying degrees of quality that not a single one of them is destined for certain success. Masterpieces are released alongside utter disasters, series are born while others dwindle and, occasionally, a game actually lives up to our expectations. So how can we possibly navigate the dizzying number of announcements, trailers, and teases to find which of the upcoming PC games we should devote our finite supply of hype to? Us old PCGamesN sages have been round the videogame block plenty of times already, so we're perfectly placed to tell you about the titles you should be saving your pennies up for. Below you'll find the upcoming PC games you should keep on your radar, as well as their expected release dates.

| PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 5:05 AM | | October 21, 2021 Developer Eidos Montreal has reached the "last stages of of optimisation," and has somehow managed to slash the storage requirements from 150GB down to 80GB. While Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is full of hard decisions and multiple choices, its linear approach to the story means it probably won't fill that Mass Effect-shaped hole in your life. Guardians of the Galaxy's system requirements, on the other hand, appeared on Steam today, and they're roughly similar to Mass Effect: Andromeda's. If you can play that, then you should be able crank up that cassette and rock out to some '80s tunes as you cruise around space with little issue. The two games recommend the same Intel processor, while Guardians of the Galaxy adopts Andromeda's recommended Nvidia graphics card as its minimum barrier to entry. If your gaming PC packs AMD, however, then you might need to check your specs against the requirements, as it's not quite as simple. One thing you'll notice is that Guardians of the Galaxy is a bit chonky, taking up 150GB of storage. This is unexpectedly three times larger than Andromeda, but games have come a long way in four-and-a-half years. Unlike most modern releases, it doesn't explicitly suggest that you should install the game on the best SSD for gaming, but it will undoubtedly cut down loading times as you zip around the galaxy than if you use a mechanical hard drive. | PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 5:17 AM | | Now that League of Legends patch 11.21 has made its way to live servers, and /All Chat has been disabled, it's time to take a look at what's next for Riot's popular MOBA game. We're slowly coming to the end of the League of Legends' 2021 patch schedule, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty ahead. One of the most eye-catching additions of this patch is the Preseason 2022 changes. Riot says that the tweaks will be available on the PBE for the next four weeks to ensure the team gets all the feedback it needs before going live with the final set of updates in November. The developer also says that things are pretty early, so expect changes to things like icons, item and effect names, visual and sound effects, stat values, and more. That's not all you're getting, though. Jayce and Vi are also getting some rather dapper looking Arcane skins, while Blizcrank will have a Victorious skin, as victorious is he. The patch cycle has just begun, so there's still much more to come, but we're off to a nifty start. RELATED LINKS: Best LoL Champions , League of Legends patch 11.20, LoL tier list

| PCGamesN Thursday, October 21, 2021 7:43 AM | | It finally happened: we now have an Elden Ring release date. Previously announced at the Microsoft E3 conference a few years ago, Elden Ring has been confirmed for Xbox One and Windows PC and will be produced by Bandai Namco, and developed by Hidetaka Miyazaki's studio, FromSoftware. With the Dark Souls and Sekiro director at the helm, we already know we're in for mystery, nightmarish boss designs, and a whole lot of dying. The announcement trailer gives off some very Dark Souls vibes. Although Miyazaki confirms that Elden Ring gameplay is heavily based on the Souls series, combat will play out very differently due to the "open and vast environment". Keeping things FromSoft, Elden Ring is also a third person open-world dark fantasy RPG, but what's new is that it features a collaboration with Game of Thrones writer and author of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin. As a result, we're anticipating plenty more in terms of storytelling than we're used to from Miyazaki, without sacrificing any of the rich, lore-soaked environment and boss designs we know and love from the Souls games. Elden Ring will also feature music from Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro composer Yuka Kitamura.

It's a strange omission but one that is representative of the feeling this roguelike evokes throughout your time climbing its purgatorial tower of baddies. Starfield, the first new universe from Bethesda Game Studios in 25 years, looks to build a rich world and backstory. The game promises immense freedom, allowing you to "create whatever character you want and embark on a journey to answer humanity's greatest mystery." Starfield takes place in the year 2330, in an area that "extends outwards from our solar system for approximately 50 light-years." 20 years before the start of the game, the two largest factions, the United Colonies and Free Star Collective, are engaged in a bloody "Colony War." The two factions are at peace right now, but the system is still dangerous, with plenty of threats. Factions like the Ecliptic Mercenaries, Pirates of the Crimson Fleet, or the violent Spacers are some of the more dangerous groups out there. Humanity's gr...
