Pokémon games are famous for basing regions on real-world locations. The Hisui Region in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, for example, was based on Hokkaido. But the setting is not the only thing the game appears to borrow.

As noted on 2ch, Japan's most popular bulletin board, the way that traveling merchant Volo throws a…

Best gaming CPU – what is the top CPU for gaming in 2022?

Choosing the best gaming CPU in 2022 can be a difficult task, as there are plenty of great options to choose from. 12th Gen Intel Core processors have proven to be worthy competitors to AMD Ryzen 5000 chips, making it a great time to upgrade your gaming PC. However, the battle for the CPU performance crown could get ugly, with AMD Zen 4 and Intel Raptor Lake components due to release later this year.

Quad-core processors remain the most popular CPU spec among Steam users, but hexa-core chips will likely overtake them in popularity over the coming months. This doesn't mean that four cores and eight threads aren't enough for the best PC games, far from it, as many videogames still predominantly rely on single-core performance above all.

It's worth noting, however, that there's little point in buying one of the best graphics cards from AMD or Nvidia and pairing it with a budget CPU. If you're hoping to make use of some of the best gaming monitor's refresh rates, like 120Hz and above, you'll want a strong processor that doesn't bottleneck your performance and stifle your frame rate.

Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun rerun banner and abilities

When is the Raiden Shogun rerun banner? Genshin Impact's popular Electro Archon was revealed in the 2.0 livestream event, and joined the list of NPCs hailing from Inazuma in the Genshin Impact 2.0 update. Although her original banner has been and gone, it's been confirmed that she will get a rerun in the later phase of the  2.5 update sometime after the next Genshin Impact banner.

Raiden Ei, also known as Raiden Shogun, the Electro Archon, and the God of Eternity (just to confuse matters) is the leader of Inazuma and commands an army, led by Kujou Sara. Ei believes in achieving divine eternity, and to that end, Visions should be harvested and inlaid to the statue of the Thousand-Armed, Hundred-Eyed God.

Although Raiden Ei is a formidable character, there are other characters in Inazuma prepared to help you, including Gorou, the leader of the resistance, as well as new Genshin Impact characters: Ayaka, Yoimiya, and Sayu. If you're hoping to pull Ei in future updates, here are Raiden Shogun's ascension materials and the best Raiden Shogun builds.

New World devs will focus on

Amazon Games has laid out its plans for New World in February. Now that the developers have completed the first world merger of the year, the team is focused on "bugs, bots, and balance". There are also teases of "more exciting content in the future".

The MMO's next update is currently on the Public Testing Realm - if you want to take a peep at Amazon Games is cooking up. The team is currently testing out changes to combat, PVE, Outpost Rush, and crafting. The big change to Outpost Rush focuses on scoring and rewards. Dealing damage now increases your score, and the number of points given for killing player-controlled enemies and AI foes has decreased. As for prizes, completing a match now rewards faction tokens, and Outpost Rush caches now contain two pieces of armour specific to the mode alongside a mode-exclusive weapon.

As for player combat, you're getting the ability to swap weapons while reacting, dodging, traversing, and using consumables. Using the action won't interrupt those moves, though keep in mind a one-second cooldown to "prevent instant weapon spamming" has been added.

Sifu system requirements won't beat up your gaming PC

Sifu might feature punishing mechanics, but its system requirements aren't looking for a scrap. While PlatinumGames dares to recommend playing its upcoming Babylon's Fall on a coveted GeForce RTX 3060, Sloclap says you can achieve optimal performance using an Nvidia GPU from 2014.

That's right, Sifu's developers recommend playing the game with a GTX 970, and you can get away with running the action-adventure on a  GeForce GT 640. Of course, opting for a non-RTX card means you'll miss out on features like Nvidia DLSS, which could boost fps at higher resolutions. However, the game's lenient demands should help more players jump into Sloclap's brutal beat 'em up, even if its gameplay kicks you to the curb.

Sloclap's GPU recommendations won't make your gaming PC sweat, but your rig will need 10GB RAM to play Sifu with higher settings enabled. Sure, this is only 2GB more than the game's 8GB minimum, but it could mean you'll have to revamp your motherboard's memory configuration.

League of Legends' next VGU goes to Skarner

The results are in. League of Legends fans have cast their votes over who the MOBA game's next big VGU (visual and gameplay update) will go to, and the winner is none other than the Crystal Vanguard himself - Skarner. Released a decade ago, the champion is certainly a worthy winner of an overhaul, and has beat out four other League of Legends champions to take the top spot in the fan poll.

"With a decisive victory, the champion that will receive the next VGU will be Skarner!" the devs announce in a blog post, highlighting that Skarner won by quite the margin. The fighter champ won a whopping 33.4% of the vote, compared to Shyvana in second place (19.6%), Tryndamere in third (17.3%), with Kog'Maw (15.3%) and Nocturne (14.4%) rounding off the list at the bottom.

Given that Skarner's a decade old and only has six skins so far, he seems a fitting choice for the game's next big VGU. There's no word on when this will arrive just yet, given the vote's only just closed, but the devs say that it'll be "a couple months until we get started". They add that we can keep an eye out for updates on his VGU "this year".

Almost half of Steam's VR users have an Oculus Quest 2

Whether you're a VR traditionalist, refusing to let go of the Oculus Quest 2, or a modernist readily embracing the newly dubbed Meta Quest 2, there's no denying the device's popularity. In fact, the latest monthly Steam hardware survey shows that nearly half of all VR users on Valve's platform are using Meta's headset to power the best VR games.

The Oculus Quest 2 boasts a staggering 46% market share, up by a strong 6% from last month's survey. Looking back at January 2021 reveals a healthy year-on-year growth of 29%, with the headset accounting for just 17% of Steam's user base at the time.

This is all the more impressive considering that its biggest competitor, the Valve Index, controls a noticeably smaller 14% of the Steam user base. As much as the Index is one of the best VR headsets you can pair with your gaming PC, it's clear that the much lower cost of the Oculus Quest 2 has worked in Meta's favour to establish market dominance.

Steam update could free up storage on Valve's Steam Deck

Valve's latest Steam beta update just dropped, and it comes with shader pre-caching improvements that could benefit the Steam Deck. Spotted by Phoronix, the new pre-cache system identifies and removes unused code, freeing up space on any gaming SSD or hard drive using the storefront.

Pre-compiled shaders are storage guzzlers, with some games occupying gigabytes of space at a time. While this is less likely to affect gaming PCs with chonky drives, it's something that could leave Valve's 64GB Steam Deck model screaming for more space. Steam's shader pre-caching overhaul should prevent this from becoming too much of an issue for the portable powerhouse, but it'll also help any Windows or Linux rig with limited storage.

If you like tinkering with Mesa graphics drivers, Steam's beta update should also come in handy. The new system eliminates old cache following any GPU changes, which means stale shaders won't accumulate through installing bi-weekly Git builds.

More Dying Light 2 fixes are coming this week

The fixes keep coming for new parkour 'em up Dying Light 2. The zombie game got a day one patch with more than 1,000 bug fixes, and more are on the way this week. Not quite 1,000, though they should prove handy nonetheless.

The upcoming PC patch includes fixes for game-crashing bugs, various situations that could cause infinite black screens, AI dead body replication in co-op, and an issue where you couldn't sell your goodies to a vendor. You're also getting some DLSS improvements, which is neat. Techland has an eye to the future, too. The devs are working on a fix for an issue that sends players into a death loop, various story blocks, and visual bugs that are sometimes visible in the 'Makers of the Plague' quest in the hospital. The team is also working on additional features like adding backup saves and exposing other video settings. There's even the possibility of enabling an English voiceover if the local language isn't English.

Techland hasn't given a date for the patch yet, though the devs say it'll be "in the coming days".

GTA 6 release date: everything we know about the next GTA game

When is the GTA 6 release date? Considering it's been eight years since GTA V was released and a sixth game is little more than rumours at this point, it's hard to say. The usual rule of thumb used to be that Rockstar released new entries to the GTA franchise every four or five years - but by that logic GTA 6 should have released four years ago, so that's out the window.

The year is now 2022, and Grand Theft Auto 6 still hasn't been announced yet. We're very much hoping for some GTA 6 news soon though, as our insatiable appetite for biting satire and a good carjacking knows no bounds. The previous Grand Theft Auto game was almost inconceivably massive and entertaining. GTA V's sales numbers are off the charts, too, and player numbers remain impressive which might explain why the next game is taking so long to emerge. Rockstar has little need to hurry.

While we wait, we've rounded up all the latest GTA 6 rumours in one place with our suggestions for what we'd like to see, no matter what form the new Grand Theft Auto ends up taking. Below you'll find everything we know about GTA 6.

League of Legends patch 12.4 notes – New champion Renata Glasc, Shockblade skins

It's that time again, League of Legends fans. Patch 12.3 has made the leap from the MOBA game's PBE to live servers, which means it's now turn for a new testing cycle to kick into gear. League of Legends patch 12.4 has now arrived for its fortnight-long round of testing and tinkering, and there's already plenty to check out.

The big news this patch is the arrival of yet another new champion. Hot on the heels of Zeri's release with League of Legends patch 12.2, Renata Glasc has now made her debut on the PBE. Known as the Chem Baroness, she's a powerful figure with "an advanced technological heritage" from Zaun, who has risen through the ranks to become the region's wealthiest chem baron - "a business magnate who built her power by tying everyone's interests to her own". Mysterious, persuasive, and with what sounds like a bit of a ruthless streak, Renata Glasc is being launched as a support champ. You can check out all of her abilities, stats, and skins in the notes below.

Elsewhere this patch, we've got some new Shockblade skins on the way for champions Kassadin, Shen, and Qiyana, and the new-and-improved Firelight Ekko - which was previously delayed - is now on the way.

So, there's this South Korean MMORPG called Mir4 that's been out on mobile and PC for about six months now. It's free-to-play, so it started off with decent numbers, but from October to November the monthly average player count jumped up by 32k. It's tailing off now, but still averaging 60,000 Steam users over the last three months, a surge you'd think would be worth celebrating, right? I investigated and discovered that Mir4 is one bizarre game, with one soul-crushing USP: NFTs.

That's right folks. The game lets you mint your character as an NFT, and even mine cryptocurrency if you so choose. If this is the future, then it seems cold and strange and sad. Also, Mir4 is a terrible game.

Chocobo GP Custom Racing Detailed

Square Enix gradually shares Chocobo GP details online, offering insights into what racing is like. The latest update goes over the custom race settings. In it, it looked at the five categories folks can alter ahead of a race.

The different elements change things like difficulty, in-race potential hazards, and what you can expect to encounter. For example, both the Class and CPU settings influence the challenge. You could set the class to things like "beginner" or choose how capable the AI racers will be. You can determine if Magicite appear. (These are essentially power-ups to help yourself or hurt fellow racers.) You can also determine how many races there will be and if you choose which course you run for each one.

As for racing in preset ways in Chocobo GP, Square Enix also explained how unlocking will work there. In another tweet, it confirmed getting first, second, or third in a Series Races can mean more series will be available. The screenshot for that also showed FFIX's Steiner in first place and Vivi in second.

Square Enix's shared quite a few details about racing in Chocobo GP ahead of launch. For example, it went over how unlocking in the story mode will work. It also confirmed a trial version will be released alongside the full version.

Chocobo GP will appear on the Nintendo Switch worldwide on March 10, 2022. There is also a free Chocobo GP' game for Android and Apple iOS devices. That's an action game starring a Chocobo and Moogle.

demon slayer final episode

The final episode of Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc (season 2) will be 45 minutes long, according to the anime series's official Twitter. It will air on February 13, 2022 in Japan. It will also simulcast on Crunchyroll and Funimation. Overall, the second season will have 18 episodes, with 7 of that 18 from the Mugen Train Arc. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]

In the manga, Muzan holds a meeting with the Upper Moon demons after the Entertainment District Arc ends. This is the first time that readers get an introduction to Upper Moon characters other than Akaza. However, it is still unknown if ufotable plans on including this scene with final episode's extra runtime.

Despite its 11 PM timeslot in Japan, Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc has been doing exceedingly well in terms of audience ratings. According to Video Research Ltd., it has an overall audience rating of 20%.
