PCGamesN Sunday, May 8, 2022 1:09 PM May 8, 2022: Vampire Survivors patch 0.5.2 is live, along with new character Concetta Caciotta. The Vampire Survivors 0.5.2 patch notes are here, unassumedly promising new Arcana power-ups, items, weapons, and more - but the roguelike game now features a new playable secret character in the form of a guitar-shredding bat-woman called Concetta Caciotta, as well as some great new ways to get gold. Vampire Survivors update 0.5.2 hit earlier today, with a number of welcome additions. These include three between weapons and evolutions, one new item, another rank for the Banish stat, and a new relic or "minor gameplay option". There's also a bug fix for the Celestial Dusting fire rate being affected by the vampire game's fps, and copyrighted music has been "temporarily" removed, so the game's stream-safe now - yes, the game had copyrighted music, apparently. There is also a suspicious mention in the patch notes of "a coffin in Gallo Tower". The notes usually keep neutral and hide such fun additions as swarms of killer cats and a dog that farts flowers. However, developer Poncle previously showed a flying bat-person who fights while shredding their guitar, who is now revealed to be called Concetta Caciotta. Find that coffin and you can unlock them. PCGamesN Sunday, May 8, 2022 12:25 PM A number of quite-literally Epic leaks seemingly reveal that a Fortnite Fall Guys crossover event is taking place across both battle royale games, possibly very soon - which, if correct, point to some sort of trials event where competitors can unlock new cosmetics. As originally spotted by Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey, two new URLs related to Fall Guys and Epic Games surfaced recently that redirected to the Fortnite website. These URLs have now been updated, further confirming the Fortnite connection and some sort of "Epic Fall Guys competition". Firstly, a reminder that Epic actually owns Fall Guys and developer Mediatonic, so a Fortnite collab is probably long overdue. Secondly, back in November a bunch of Fortnite skins for Fall Guys itself leaked, suggesting the crossover is going both ways. Mediatonic reportedly added support for cross-game item grants recently, meaning you can earn things in one game and unlock them in the other. A "huge mystery announcement" for Fall Guys was recently teased, which could mean the game going free-to-play or a big Fortnite crossover - or both, conceivably. PCGamesN Sunday, May 8, 2022 11:12 AM A new Dead by Daylight leak seemingly reveals the new killer coming in the horror game's Chapter 24 this month, which was supposed to be unveiled as part of the 6th-anniversary celebrations. If the leak is correct, the killer is an eyeless creature out of a Bloodborne or Amnesia nightmare called The Dredge. A leak on Reddit seems to have revealed the new Dead by Daylight The Dredge killer prior to its official showing on May 17 for the multiplayer game's sixth anniversary. The leaked pictures - which also show the rather intense new survivor Haddie Kaur too - purport to show the disgusting long-mouthed monster The Dredge as it appears in-game. If real, it's certainly the most inhuman killer in Dead by Daylight this side of the Stranger Things Demogorgon, although it has a similar vertical mouth to The Blight. The leak also reveals all of The Dredge's new abilities too and it seems its main power is darkness. Its special ability Nightfall builds the more actions The Dredge takes, like injuring or hooking a survivor, and when its meter is filled the map is flooded in "total darkness" and its abilities become enhanced. PCGamesN Sunday, May 8, 2022 9:42 AM So you want to know about Starfield companions? Given that Starfield is an open-world RPG game made by Bethesda, we'd have been very surprised if there weren't followers the player could meet and invite to join them on their journey across the Settled Systems. Thankfully, we already know plenty about Starfield companions, despite the fact that we've only seen a few seconds of in-engine footage. The presence of characters that the player can form relationships with has already been confirmed and VASCO, a Constellation expeditionary robot, is one of the only known companions so far. But that's not all. For example, a Bethesda blog post confirms that VASCO is just "one of many companions" available in the game. In episode two of the 'Into the Starfield' video series, Todd Howard and the group talk a little bit about companions and what they might be like. It's mentioned that companions can comment about things the player is actively doing, or has done previously, which should sound familiar to Fallout players who are tired of being judged by their companions. PCGamesN Sunday, May 8, 2022 9:38 AM May 8, 2022: We've now got 15 minutes of Elden Ring VR mod gameplay. Last month, an Elden Ring VR mod was teased by a modder responsible for similar Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2 VR mods, suggesting a whole new terrifying way to play one of the best RPGs on PC - not to mention the possible Elden Ring first-person mod implications. Now we've got a decent look at the VR mod in action. There are a lot of great VR games on PC already, but other than the likes of Skyrim VR there aren't too many open-world games accessible to virtual reality fans. Modder Luke Ross has already created mods to make the likes of Red Dead 2, GTA 5, Cyberpunk 2077, and even No-One Lives Forever 2 playable in VR, and they've now set their sights on Elden Ring. After previously showing what Ross calls a "sneak peek" of the mod, we've now got a full 15 minutes of Elden Ring VR mod gameplay courtesy of Upload VR, who also posted a hands-on preview. PCGamesN Sunday, May 8, 2022 8:16 AM Dark Souls: Archthrones is an impressive Dark Souls 3 mod that acts as both an overhaul and a prequel to FromSoftware's RPG game, and the team now reveals that it's "working on a demo" that should hopefully be available soon. There are many fantastic fan-made Dark Souls 3 mods, such as ones that change boss fights or just complete overhauls of the game, but Archthrones is a little different. The team describes it as an "extensive" overhaul of the dark fantasy game. Locations are being "beautifully reimagined" with new lighting and visuals, and there will also be changes to boss encounters, too. Aside from being an overhaul, though, Archthrones also features "an alternate story set before the events" of Dark Souls 3, with this prequel story being set "across five unique worlds, each accessed via the Nexus of Embers". It's apparently been in development for two years, and also contains new NPCs, enemies, and even bosses. The team even seems to be deliberately making the new areas more in the style of Dark Souls precursor Demon's Souls, which is neat as that game's still not on PC. PCGamesN Sunday, May 8, 2022 6:52 AM The first Zenless Zone Zero teaser suggests that the reveal is happening this Friday - so this week we'll see the next anime game from Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse. Reportedly, it's another open-world game, and it may be a shooter this time. The studio previously known as MiHoYo currently has two major games in operation - Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact: 3rd, with a new strategy RPG game called Honkai: Star Rail in the works. Aside from weird desktop anime girls, that's all the projects we know so far - but it seems HoYoverse has another new game on the way. Zenless Zone Zero is that game, and it has a new countdown page with a short teaser revealing that it is set in a modern-day city - and deals with strange circular voids called Hollows appearing around that city. Beyond that, there's a calendar with Friday, May 13, clearly circled - so presumably, the full reveal of Zenless Zone Zero will happen later this week. |

Siliconera Sunday, May 8, 2022 12:00 PM HoYoVerse, the Genshin Impact developer also known as miHoYo, is teasing a new game titled Zenless Zone Zero. Not much is known about it at the moment, but an official reveal is slated for May 13, 2022. A "Record of Unknown Time" teaser site for Zenless Zone Zero has been put up in the meantime. https://twitter.com/ZZZ_EN/status/1523150703006523393 The Zenless Zone Zero teaser site is a peculiar one. It displays an old antenna TV on top of a VCR set. Surrounding are several posters, a subwoofer, a few VHS tapes on a rack, and a small calendar counting down to May 13. Visitors can turn the top knob to turn the TV on to watch a brief clip of breaking news. This most likely hints at what its premise may contain. The clip shows that part of a city is starting to be swallowed up by some sort of black dome with parts of a building submerged in it. The news reporter refers to this phenomenon as a "sub hollow." Public security has set up a control zone and is evacuating residents in the meantime. Although HoYoVerse has not listed a genre for Zenless Zone Zero yet, industry analyst Daniel Ahmad shared on Twitter that it will be an "ACGN-themed shooter game." HoYoVerse continues to work on Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, and the unreleased Honkai Star Rail. Recent events have had them push back update 2.7 for Genshin Impact unfortunately. Zenless Zone Zero has no release platforms or release date yet. We hope to learn more on May 13 during its official reveal.
