How to upgrade your PS5 or PC with the M480 Play SSD

If you're serious about gaming chances are you'll run into a little barrier we like to call 'not enough storage', even if you're using the biggest available MSI SSD. In the world of gaming, few things matter quite as much as storage space - especially given the way we use and abuse our machines day-to-day with hundreds of tasks and processes.

Unless you've built your own and spared no expense, everyday usage can quickly start to weigh down your PC directly impacting the quality and quantity of your gaming experience. Even if you're careful with your downloads and keep to physical copies (which will still require installing), the slow buildup of memory-hogging files can clog your loading times and jeopardise your game speeds.

And aside from avoiding procrastination and salvaging your bank balance, the only real issue when it comes to stacking up games on the PS5 is the size of the inbuilt memory. It isn't just games: the last few generations of Sony's best-selling console have doubled up as a media centre for videos, apps, social networks and streaming. All of which is great, but is sure to eat up that precious SSD space in mere months.

Fortnite is a cartoony game, and that light and entertaining visual style is what allows for crossovers, like bringing in classic anime characters like Naruto et al and for designing comic book characters like Spider-Man.      This Minecraft YouTuber built a working tank without mods

Minecraft allows players to build just so many things. Whether you want to build your own version of Elden Ring or create an in-game GIF, your options are unlimited. It's all about freedom, and the mix of different systems within the game allows for some out-there creations - like a working Minecraft tank.

Good old Mysticat - who you may recognise from their impressive version of Crossy Road - woke up, chose violence, and built themselves a tank. If you've watched any of their content before, you'll probably already know the end result.

The video shows Mysticat building the model for the tank, figuring out how to make it turn, and then driving it around. That's all stuff they've done before though - the most intriguing part of the video is undoubtedly how they figure out the firing mechanism. After some offscreen experimenting, they settle on using snowballs with a few extra commands to make them explosive, change the way gravity affects them, and even set them on fire for a bit of visual flare.

V Rising devs are considering angry mob PvE castle invasions

It seems like V Rising studio Stunlock is preparing to answer that age-old question: is it really a vampire game if there isn't an angry mob storming your gates? It seems like future V Rising updates might include just this, as the team is considering proper PvE castle invasions.

Stunlock has offered a number of details for its plans leading up to the V Rising 1.0 release out of early access, including how there are "super exciting additions coming." It's even spoken about the endgame and the possible return of Dracula in a "Game of Thrones" type scenario.

Now, in a recent interview with streamers Asmongold and Rich Campbell, Stunlock teased how it was planning to make the player's castle more "central" to the survival game "especially on PvE." At the moment, your V Rising base is more of a target for PvP attacks and the AI leaves you alone. That seems set to change, however.

     Best wireless mechanical keyboard

Using the best wireless mechanical keyboard is a great way to cut the cord while embracing the benefits of clicky or linear switches. Sure, wired gaming PC peripherals have their perks, but untethered companions come with fewer caveats than you'd expect. The latency horrors of early wireless gaming keyboards are fading into the past, and some can even free up a USB port to help you manage cables at your gaming desk.

There are a few things to consider when it comes to wireless mechanical keyboards, as they come in various shapes, sizes, and specs. For starters, some cordless contraptions can connect via Bluetooth for greater device compatibility, with others hook up to gaming laptops and PCs using a 2.4Ghz wireless dongle. If you're into PC gaming on the go, you might also want to consider a smaller set of keys that you can stow away in your backpack, while couch lovers might prefer something that's compatible with a lapboard.

To help you in your clicky clacky quest, we've compiled the best wireless mechanical keyboard candidates into a handy list, including options by Logitech, Razer, Corsair, and Epomaker.

Steam Deck finally gets Switch style dock, but not from Valve

The official Steam Deck dock is still missing in action, but there's now an alternative that could check all the boxes. Not only does the portable powerhouse accessory almost look like the real deal, but it's equipped with all the ports you'll need to transform the handheld into a desktop gaming PC.

Created by Jsaux, the third-party Steam Deck Dock is designed specifically to work with Valve's handheld. While you might be tempted to pick up a compatible hub, this specific accessory cradles the portable while providing it with HDMI, 100W power delivery, two USB 2.0 ports, and ethernet. It also features an angled USB-C cable, so you won't have to worry about angled connectors or having to manage cables.

There are plenty of USB-C solutions out there that will help you connect the Steam Deck to a TV or gaming monitor, but this dock almost looks like Valve's delayed accessory. Many branded options aren't built to caress the Deck's caboose while it's hooked up to your screen and peripherals, and cheap cradles lack electrical innards. You could opt to 3D print a custom-made dock, but if getting crafty isn't your bag, you might want to check out Jsaux's take.

     The best Minecraft texture packs

Looking for the best Minecraft texture packs for the Java Edition? Minecraft's low-fi charms were predictably the first thing modders took to 'fixing'. The ruddy textures, while distinctive, are an obvious target for an upgrade if you stare at them long enough. While Mojang has been gradually revamping the aesthetic appeal of Minecraft, particularly with the introduction of Minecraft Ray Tracing, if you're chasing a specific look, then texture packs are your best bet.

We've compiled this list of the best Minecraft texture packs in one handy location. There's nothing too crazy here, as massive visual overhauls tend to be part of more extensive Minecraft mods that fundamentally change the game, but that's another article entirely.

One thing to note is that this list of the best Minecraft texture packs is for the Java Edition of Minecraft, which you can access via the new PC launcher, so if you're using the Bedrock Edition, you're likely to run into some issues. It's worth mentioning these Minecraft texture packs will work on the Java version you can find in the PC Game Pass version. Below is a fantastic selection of texture packs that give Minecraft altered visual styles, from the ultra-realistic to the cartoonish, to far-out sci-fi and subtle makeovers.

F1 22 review – buckle up, we're really in the EA era now

The essence of our F1 22 review hits me on turn eight at Canada. Two seasons into my career, making my step up from F2 to join Alfa Romeo in the big leagues for 2022, I'm battling for 13th with Kevin Magnussen's Haas. It's a grey day in Montreal, and we don't have the pace we need because 100% of our upgrades through the season have failed development and needed re-developing. I have a train of cars behind me who clearly have better pace, but whose governing AI won't quite let them overtake. It occurs to me, as I lose another two tenths to Kevin on the corner exit struggling for traction: I'm not having much fun.

Sci-fi Genshin Impact like Tower of Fantasy hits Steam in 2022

Considering the phenomenal success of Hoyoverse's Genshin Impact it's a wonder why more developers haven't attempted to replicate the RPG game's accomplishments, but Tower of Fantasy is giving it a try. The team has now narrowed down the Tower of Fantasy PC release date for Steam and the Epic Games Store - and you can pre-register now too.

Tower of Fantasy is an open-world game in an anime game style that, let's be honest, has obviously been inspired by Genshin Impact. While it's still a fantasy game in a colourful shared-world environment, Tower of Fantasy leans a little more into sci-fi and has some neat ideas - like a jetpack that turns into a Tron-like bike, which every game needs to have.

Nvidia RTX 4090 Ti could be Metal Gear meme dummy thicc

Nvidia RTX 4090 Ti renders have emerged online, and the green team's next best graphics card could feature a very chonky cooler. The images provide a side view of the GPU, including its shroud and edge connector, and we reckon the clap of its cooler would alert the guards in Metal Gear Solid.

Shared by YouTuber Moore's Law is Dead, the Nvidia RTX 4090 Ti mockup in question is based on a Founders Edition engineering sample. Aesthetically, the next-gen GPU looks similar to the RTX 3090, but it features a much thicker cooler that might take up 3.25 slots in your gaming PC.

MLID points out that while the RTX 3090 takes up three slots, its cooler actually only takes up 2.75. So, while the current-gen support bracket will seemingly occupy the same space as the RTX 4090 Ti, the rest of the card is set to hog more room within your case.

Nvidia DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) is more of a niche prospect than its upscaler cousin DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), though it shares the same ultimate goal of making your PC games look sharper. Like DLSS, DLAA uses a dash of AI brainpower to stitch together frames with more detail than conventional anti-aliasing techniques like TAA and MSAA – only with DLAA, there's no upscaling involved. That means no performance gains, but for those with sufficiently powerful Nvidia RTX GPUs, potentially superior image quality at all resolutions. Even better than DLSS, mayhaps.

Neon White Switch

If not for Steve Blum's distinctive voice in the slick trailer for Neon White, I would have waited to see what other people thought of this flashy game that immediately made me think of Phantom Dust. But I let myself get suckered in. Blum is a siren for anime nerds like me. The moment his voice hits your eardrums, you're entranced. Which is why I am so disappointed that Neon White just isn't for someone like me.

This action game is a speed runner's dream. In fact, every single mission is presented as a string of bite-sized jobs. The better your time, the better your score and overall rank. Which is great, in theory. I get that these first jobs are all tutorials. However, the start/stop of running a level, then waiting for the next to load, pulled me out of the game. Especially when Neon White's load times took longer than the courses themselves. I thought maybe it was just me. Maybe the reason the game felt like slogging through quicksand was this genre wasn't for me. So I asked my spouse to run the tutorial section. He came back with the exact same response.

Neon White Central Heaven hub

Now my thinking was that things would pick up once I made it to the next area. I ran through the tutorial and made it to the social hub with a rank of 97. After talking to everyone in Central Heaven, I discovered that in order to take on a new mission, my overall rank needed to be 93 or better. At first this didn't bother me. I planned on rerunning the tutorial segments, because gifts unlocked after the initial stage clear. I collected a couple of gifts, gave them to the correct friends, rinsed and repeated. While I was at it, I did get better and improved a couple of my times. But it was a struggle to feel invested. For something presented in less than a minute intervals of playtime, replaying levels over and over hoping to bump my rank was just too tedious.

Maybe it wouldn't have been so frustrating if I played the PC version and used a controller I was more familiar with. I'm always mixing up the trigger buttons on the Switch. This led to discarding when I didn't intend to or using the wrong card. Targeting demons with the right stick wasn't nearly as smooth as I would have liked too. The stickiness ate into my precious time. Moving White on slick surfaces reminded me of skating. Sometimes I would just waste time sliding around the glassy surface, because it was the most fun (and fluid) part of the experience.

Neon White Violet gift

It's very unfortunate that I hit this road block. Between the writing and voice over work, Neon White's story is something I truly wanted to experience. I could even forgive some of the uninspiring design elements, textures, and janky character models. Grinding through thirty seconds of platforming over and over again may appeal to some, but there comes a point when the time wasted re-running segments and getting zero return is time better spent on other games.

Neon White is available now for Nintendo Switch and PC.

At the moment, people can use Hololive Myth members Amelia, Gura, Ina'nis, Kiara, and Calliope, Hololive Hope member Irys, and Hololive Council members Kronii, Mumei, Sana, Fauna, and Baelz as they attempt to save their fans by fighting monsters. Each character has their own movesets and weapons. There is also a leaderboard feature, though it is temporarily turned off. This is due to the number of people playing and resulting scores data load.

Here's an initial trailer for HoloCure. In addition to Kay Yu's efforts, both DuDul and Smpletan worked on its art.

In addition, composer Eufrik recently shared some of the soundtrack.

Since its release, some of the Hololive En Vtubers appearing in the fangame played it on stream. For example, Kronii wil be playing it on June 27, 2022. Also, Mumei already played it. Here's a video showing her time with it.

HoloCure is available for free for Windows PCs.

The new JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R trailer shows off Pet Shop, the falcon that guards DIO's mansion in Stardust Crusaders

The new JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R trailer is here, and this time Pet Shop is the star. For those unaware, Pet Shop is both an actual falcon and an ally of DIO who uses the Stand Horus. He shows up in Stardust Crusaders as the guardian of DIO's mansion.

Some Splatoon 3 Returning Blaster Weapons Showcased

Nintendo's gradually been going over some returning Splatoon 3 weapons, and the latest to show up are the blasters. These are the weapons that are designed to blast opposing players with ink. In particular, two were shown off this time. People can see how the Luna Blaster and Range Blaster will look this time.

First, here's the Luna Blaster. It's appeared in the series since the original Splatoon in both standard and Neo forms. A Kensa version also showed up in the sequel. It fires slightly faster than the Range Blaster.

The next Splatoon 3 blaster is the Range Blaster. It showed up as a weapon in both of the original games too. It is the slower of the two weapons, but works at a greater range than the Luna Blaster.

Nintendo already established that all basic weapons from the first two entries will show up in Splatoon 3. It then went over some of the chargers, rollers, sloshers, and splatlings will be back.

Splatoon 3 will come to the Nintendo Switch on September 9, 2022.

Griseo Explains Honkai Impact 3rd's The Journey of Painting Stars

There's a new Honkai Impact 3rd The Journey of Painting Stars event video, and it features Griseo talking about how it will work. Which makes sense, given it is a battlesuit event going over her addition to the game. It it, she establishes how she and Mr. Knight (as well as the players) will be fighting to protect "all the colors in the world." She notes the goal will be to "find the Depicter's paintings and retrieve the world's colors."

After Griseo sets the stage in the Honkai Impact 3rd The Journey of Painting Stars trailer, she goes over exactly how the event will work. She mentions how each area will have stages. For example, it starts by showing the lakeside forest stages. After that, the paradise area appears. That's followed by a town that only features night stages. At the top of the image, it shows how there will be a certain number of stars to earn in each stage. There are 57 total in each of the three. Griseo points out how the goal is to see story events to learn more about what's going on and find her friends. She also mentions how folks will choose a team lineup by editing a team, setting up as many as five lineups. She also mentions how you can get more team members from the shop. Also, her "paint" can make her allies stronger. After the five minute mark, it shows the sort of real-time strategic battle that will ensue.

Honkai Impact 3rd is available for PCs and mobile devices. The 5.8 update will arrive on June 30, 2022. That is also when the Honkai Impact 3rd The Journey of Painting Stars event and Griseo will appear.

The Genshin Impact Core of the Apparatus event is about to begin and will involve making robotic furnishings and earning Primogems

HoYoVerse announced the Genshin Impact Core of the Apparatus event is about to begin. This is a new activity designed to help people build furnishings. The goal this time will be to collect materials. These can then be used to help an NPC achieve goals, then get rewards like free redemption vouchers and Primogems.

Here's how to take part. First, someone will need to be at least at Adventure Rank 30. You'll also need to finish Archon Quest Chapter 2 Act 1's "Ritou Escape Plan" quest and the "Chisato's Letter" side quest to take part. If you did both, then you can meet with Bertrand in Inazuma. Bertrand will provide a Material Collector to the player. This can be used to get materials via Core Activation, Elemental Charge, and Source Material Collection. When you do that, you can create robotic furnishings. When you do, you'll get redemption vouchers that let you get your own robotic furnishings. These should be able to go in the Serenitea Pot.

As for the other rewards for taking part and making robotic furnishings, four are mentioned. Free Primogems and Mora will be a part of Genshin Impact Core of the Apparatus, as usual. People can also get Hero's Wits to increase their characters' levels and Weapon Ascension Materials to improve owned weapons.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. The Nintendo Switch version is in development. The Genshin Impact Core of the Apparatus Event will run June 29, 2022 through July 11, 2022.

Steam Deck valve availability in stock price buy valveThe Steam Deck is one of the newest pieces of hardware in the games industry. Much like the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, it's been hard to find. All three systems launched during a tumultuous time in the industry, where supply chain issues brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic continue to affect operations. Production is on the upswing for some things, though. Valve's recent announcement regarding Steam Deck production suggests improved availability later this year. With more Steam Decks arriving out of the factories, Valve intends to offer a more consistent flow of supply to match the demand for the new system. Valve's initial strategy with the Deck's rollout has been to stagger shipments. By releasing new units in batches, early adopters have essentially been receiving it on a first-come-first-serve basis. As production increases, purchasing the system should soon become a whole lot easier.   More hands on Deck The Steam Deck has become a "little dar...

Simpsons Hit and Run remake Homer KrustyOf all the licensed games that came out during the 2000s, The Simpsons Hit and Run managed to stand out. The vast majority of licensed games during that time garnered infamy for their poor quality, but this Grand Theft Auto-inspired Simpsons game earned positive reviews from critics and became a cult classic among players. Evidence of the enthusiasm that fans have for The Simpsons: Hit and Run came in the form of a fan remake using Unreal Engine 5 that surfaced last year. Unfortunately, the creator of this remake, Reuben "Reubs" Ward, took it off his Patreon due to the legal complications he inevitably would have faced. Surprisingly, though, he recently uploaded a video that shows off a new and improved build of this remake.   A fully-realized Springfield Easily the most significant feature in this new build comes in the form of a fully-fledged open-world map. Although the original Simpsons: Hit and Run had open, explorable areas, the limitations of the consoles ...

Redfall game Features 1When I first caught sight of Redfall, a co-op action game that features first-person shooting and vampires, I really didn't think too much of it. I was admittedly intrigued by a monster-fighting game specifically focusing on vampire lore, which is much different than battling swarms of zombies or hulked-out mutated tanks. At the same time, though, it's hard to not associate Redfall with the games that most likely inspired it. Back4Blood, EarthFall, Evolve, and Left4Dead all seem like worthy inspirations. However, after gameplay was finally revealed during Microsoft's summer digital presentation, I found myself more and more excited to fry, dismember, and UV-blast these creatures of the night. Here are three features I'm looking forward to sinking my teeth into Redfall when the game launches next year.    Living the solo life I never really thought I would be the multiplayer-only type. In my younger gaming years, I often found myself devoting hours to a game's story ...

Blade Runner Enhanced Edition classic versionBlade Runner: Enhanced Edition from Nightdive Studios came out last week after a long period of delay. However, its release didn't go as smoothly as planned. The Enhanced Edition has several issues that hardcore fans are not happy about, so much so that the Steam reviews are sitting at 'mostly negative.' Now, though, the classic version of Blade Runner will be available alongside the Enhanced Edition. Blade Runner's original 1997 release is often regarded to be a classic. But sometime after its release, Westwood Studios lost the source code for the game. This made any potential re-releases for the title a very costly endeavor, as most of the assets would have to be remade from scratch. With that said, a re-release did eventually make its way to GOG in 2019. That version is no longer available, though.   Blade Runner's not so enhanced edition That then brings us to now with Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition, which has since replaced the original version o...
