PCGamesN Wednesday, August 3, 2022 9:31 AM The full League of Legends 12.15 patch notes have been released by Riot lead designer, Phroxzon, detailing buffs to the entirety of the energy class of champions and nerfs to some of the more overpowered items. PCGamesN Wednesday, August 3, 2022 8:23 AM A World of Warcraft fated raids bug that is causing many abilities to malfunction and underperform in the higher difficulty Shadowlands raids will probably not be fixed quickly, according to Blizzard. The bug, which is causing a wide range of different abilities to deal significantly less damage or healing in the MMORPG, is apparently a more complicated issue than initially suspected. Responding to some initial reports of abilities dealing significantly reduced damage in the Fated Castle Nathria raid, Blizzard community manager Kaivax says, "We are aware of and working on a bug causing some player abilities to malfunction in fated raids. Our investigation so far has revealed a complicated problem that we do not expect to be able to fix quickly." They emphasise that the issue is being considered a top priority by the team. Players in the thread are reporting dramatic nerfs to their expected output. One arcane mage user says that Touch of the Magi is applying "about 10% of what I'd expect" damage-wise, while their Harmonic Echo skill is dealing about one-eighth of the expected damage. It seems likely that this level of potency reduction is consistent, as a mistweaver monk reports their Ancient Teachings of the Monastery power heals for only 25% of their damage dealt, instead of the expected 250%. PCGamesN Wednesday, August 3, 2022 8:07 AM The Shadow of Skyrim mod is inspired by fellow fantasy game Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and aims to bring something akin to its iconic Nemesis system to Bethesda's RPG game - and now it has a release date, with not long to wait. There are many fantastic Skyrim mods on PC, but the prospect of adding Middle-Earth's Nemesis system is an enticing one. Nemesis, if you didn't know, organically turns regular foes into powerful antagonists if they manage to defeat you. The Shadow of Skyrim mod by creator Syclonix aims to do just that, with nemeses receiving "a unique name, increased stats, and special buff" and can even use your gear against you. Even dragons can become your nemesis - or mudcrabs. Players get a debuff when defeated and are spawned at a random location, with a quest to track down their new nemesis - which is the only way to remove the debuff and get your gear back. The mod also essentially removes death so there's no need to save or reload, much like with the Middle-Earth games. RELATED LINKS: Skyrim mods, Play Skyrim, Games like Skyrim |

PCGamesN Wednesday, August 3, 2022 7:30 AM Making changes to classes in World of Warcraft is always a delicate affair. Players of the venerable MMORPG have a habit of discovering hitherto unthought of talent combinations that completely break the entire experience. Such is the case with Shamans on the Dragonflight alpha servers, where the increased flexibility and customisability of the new talent system has allowed players to create previously impossible combos. As such, Blizzard are making a suite of changes designed to nerf the defensive and mobility capabilities of the class. You can find the full details on Kaivax's blue post on the WoW forums, but we'll run through the most notable changes. PCGamesN Wednesday, August 3, 2022 6:45 AM Could a new Prey game be on the cards involving the teams from both Prey 2006 and Prey 2017? The original Prey devs are now working on vampire game Redfall with Arkane, the makers of the rebooted Prey 2, and the team has an 'unannounced project' in the works. While we still don't know too much about the co-op game, despite the Redfall gameplay showcase in June, we do know that several studios are assisting Arkane with development - including Doom developer id Software and Roundhouse Studios. Roundhouse is a Bethesda studio made up of developers from Human Head, the creators of the original Prey game, and the cancelled Prey 2. |

PCGamesN Wednesday, August 3, 2022 6:21 AM It appears that the Modern Warfare 2 Tarkov mode DMZ has been confirmed for the FPS game following an NFL preview event. A tiny snippet of Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer gameplay and screenshots of its menus have also been leaked by professional American football players checking out the upcoming game. Cameron Dicker and Quentin Lake of the LA Rams both posted the 'CoD partner' event to social media after apparently trying out the multiplayer game. Charlie Intel shared the menu images from Dicker and the brief gameplay clip from Lake, which were soon removed from the players' feeds and replaced with more generic logo screenshots. Most interestingly, another screenshot seemingly shared from the same event also appears to confirm the existence of DMZ - a previously-rumoured mode understood to be Call of Duty's take on Escape from Tarkov. While it has been heavily rumoured, DMZ hasn't yet been officially confirmed by Activision, so if the screenshot is legitimate then this represents the most concrete evidence so far for the mode's existence. The recent report on DMZ suggests that the mode will be officially revealed in August, so perhaps we'll see it in action soon. PCGamesN Wednesday, August 3, 2022 6:24 AM Curious about Digimon Survive evolution? Unlike their pocket monster counterparts, evolution in Digimon Survive isn't a permanent change. Instead, digital monsters can both digivolve and de-digivolve, and their ability to do so is often dictated by the level of peril that their chosen Digidestined happens to find themselves. However, despite the fact that digivolution is an integral part of a Digimon's life cycle, you won't be able to unlock the Digimon Survive evolution chart until the conclusion of part one. Digivolution is a powerful tool that can transform the cuddliest of Digimon into walking missile defence systems bristling with teeth and claws. Unsurprisingly, this drastic change of appearance comes with a massive boost to your Digimon's stats, unlocking powerful new abilities. In Bandai Namco's visual novel RPG game, Digimon Survive evolution is the key to survival, and this is how it works. |
PCGamesN Wednesday, August 3, 2022 6:12 AM When is the Genshin Impact 3.0 release date? Similar to the huge 2.0 update which released the Inazuma region, along with Electro vision and a host of new characters - it looks like 3.0 could be just as big. If the latest rumours are true, the Genshin Impact 3.0 update could showcase the Dendro element, Archon quests, hangout events, new Genshin Impact characters, and another new region, Sumeru. There should be a new story arc, and hopefully an epic boss encounter like Raiden Shogun, who went on to become a playable character. We've put together a round-up of what we know so far, which is a mix of speculation, and also what we've seen in video teasers released by Hoyoverse. PCGamesN Wednesday, August 3, 2022 5:39 AM Genshin Impact banners adhere to a pretty regular schedule. Each update arrives with a new banner (or two) that lasts three weeks, followed by a second phase of banners which also lasts three weeks (barring any delays), at which point a new major update will drop. Wondering what the next Genshin Impact banner is? We never know the exact details until banners are officially announced during the livestreams that precede each update. Occasionally, banners don't stick to the typical schedule - most notably, update 1.3 had three two-week banners, so that Hu Tao's banner didn't cross over with the Chinese New Year. Each limited character banner - or Event Wish - contains a five-star character, and three four-star characters with increased drop rates. There's also a Weapon banner - Epitome Invocation - which runs alongside each character banner, which changes weapons every update. Here's everything you need to know about the current and upcoming Genshin Impact banners. Reminiscent Regimen runs alongside Summertime Odyssey, a collection of events involving Phantasmal Conches, Astral Puzzles, and Starlight Coalescence which take place on the Golden Apple Archipelago region. The Genshin Impact Reminiscent Regimen event is a series of co-op challenges spread across three themes. You need to team-up with a co-op partner you know, or switch on co-op mode to have a stranger join you. You also need to be at least Adventure Rank 32 and have completed the 'Summertime Odyssey: I' quest. Here's everything you need to know. This is a bespoke set of offers on a random set of six weapon skins, so the discounts available will be unique to each player - but they only last a couple of weeks. The Valorant Night Market will feature skins from select, deluxe, and premium collections that released at least two acts prior to the one the market opened in, and it won't feature skins from battle pass or agent contracts. Exclusive and ultra skins are also omitted. Here's everything you need to know about the Valorant Night Market. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, August 3, 2022 9:46 AM Whomst among us didn't watch Whip It over a decade ago and think about giving full-contact skating sport a go, before falling over on once and deciding to pack it in? I have a bunch of friends who persisted and now spend their weekends in gyms and car parks, where they skate under 11/10 names like Correctional Felicity and give each other huge bruises. I can't be sure, but from their activity on social media I estimate they spend about 114% of their time being excited about roller derby, which I endorse. Now both they (and people like me, who find wheels frightening), can spend even more free time on roller derby with the annoucenment of 2023's sports management game Roller Drama. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, August 3, 2022 7:30 AM It's fair to say that Deck Nine had a lot to prove with Life Is Strange: True Colors. While it wasn't their first Life Is Strange - the Colorado studio released the spin-off game Before The Storm in 2017 - it was the first time they were tasked with creating their own world and characters, instead of inheriting Dontnod's creations. Fortunately Deck Nine successfully managed the tightrope walk of honouring the series' existing DNA, while still taking the Life Is Strange world in new directions. To find out more about how it was done, I sat down with Philip Lawrence and Sarah Van Rompeay, respectively the Senior Narrative Designer and Senior Producer at Square Enix External Studios. |

Siliconera Wednesday, August 3, 2022 9:00 AM Bandai Namco announced that it had shipped over 2 million units of One Piece Pirate Warriors 4. This number combines physical shipments with digital sales on all available platforms. One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 launched worldwide in late March 2020. The action game featured a new moveset system where all playable characters can launch aerial combos. Bandai Namco added nine DLC characters for the game's post-release support. The content additions ended in December 2020 with the inclusions of Kin'emon, Okiku, and Kozuki Oden from Wano Country. Bandai Namco previously announced a 1 million shipments milestone for One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 in mid-December 2020. It is the quickest record to date in the Pirate Warriors series, as the latest entry reached the number in less than nine months. It took around a year and eight months for the game to gain another million for its lifetime shipment number. The new milestone puts Pirate Warriors 4 above Koei Tecmo's mainline Warriors games. The company had shipped over 1 million units for each of Dynasty Warriors 3, 4, and 5, as well as the first Samurai Warriors. The only entry that stands above One Piece—and the entire Warriors series including crossover titles—is Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. The Nintendo Switch-exclusive game had over 3 million units shipped during its launch week in November 2020, and the lifetime number increased to 4 million in January 2022. One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 is available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. The post One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 Reaches 2 Million Shipments appeared first on Siliconera. |
Siliconera Wednesday, August 3, 2022 8:00 AM For the 25th anniversary of the Persona franchise, a special stream will take place on August 9, 2022, at 7:00 PM JST. That would convert to 3 AM PST/6 AM EST. Jun Fukuyama (who voices the Protagonist in Persona 5) and Daisuke Namikawa (who voices the Protagonist in Persona 4) will be guests. Atlus has stated that it will not announce a new game during this stream. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!] You will be able to watch the stream on YouTube Live and Twitter Live. It is not an actual live stream with the guests, as everything was recorded beforehand. It is unclear what announcements Atlus will make during the Persona 25th anniversary stream if there is no news on upcoming games. Recent news regarding the Persona franchise includes upcoming ports of the later games. You will be able to play Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable on systems such as the Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, Xbox Series X, and more. All of these games are the updated versions of the vanilla games, with new endings and QOL changes. Persona 5 Royal will also come with the entire DLC catalog, which is perhaps why those who bought the game for the PS4 will not be eligible for a free upgrade to the PS5. The Persona 25th Anniversary stream will be available on YouTube Live and Twitter Live on August 9, 2022, at 7:00 PM JST. Siliconera Wednesday, August 3, 2022 7:00 AM Good Smile Company has opened up pre-orders for Pop Up Parade figures of Claude and Lysithea from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The Golden Deer duo is the final pair, following Edelgard and Bernadetta, as well as Dimitri and Felix. Pre-orders are open until September 1, 2022. As per usual, the figures are wearing their school uniforms, as the figures are of their designs during the Academy Arc. Since they are Pop Up Parade figures, you will not be able to change their poses. Claude has one hand on his hip and the other slightly outstretched, as if he is in the middle of a conversation with someone. The Claude figure costs ¥4,800, or $34.99. It will ship out in January 2023 for those in Japan and March 2023 for those in North America. [gallery ids="933061,933063,933064" link="file"] As for the Lysithea figure, she is standing with her arms crossed. While none of the pictures show Lysithea next to the other figures for size comparisons, it seems that she will be slightly smaller than normal. Most Pop Up Parade figures are around 17 - 18 centimeters in height. However, Lysithea will be 15 centimeters tall. Like Claude, the Lysithea figure costs ¥4,800 or $34.99. It also has the same release windows of January 2023 for Japan and March 2023 for North America. [gallery ids="933068,933067,933066" link="file"] Fire Emblem: Three Houses is readily available on the Nintendo Switch. Its sequel, Fire Emblem: Three Hopes, is also available on the Switch.
