The latest Batman game borrows from a ton of other, mostly better rivals, and struggles to craft a clear identity in the process. Kotaku's Levi…

Witcher Remake moving to Unreal Engine 5 will be great for new saga

CD Projekt Red announced recently that it is developing The Witcher Remake, alongside the start of a brand new saga for the series too, which will start with the tentatively titled The Witcher 4. Both of these games are being developed in Unreal Engine 5, as CD Projekt steps away from its own Red Engine and instead goes along with Epic Games' widely used technology. This is going to be great for both games across the board.

Gorgeous sci-fi inspired Doom FPS game now playable on Steam

Everybody knows what Doom means when it comes to FPS games - but how does a stunningly colourful pixel art take on Doom where you blast aliens across a range of sci-fi inspired environments sound? Personally, we think just a few seconds looking at Mala Petaka should be enough to sell you on its premise: using all the sorts of classic weapons you'd expect of a game built in the GZDoom engine such as a shotgun, grenade launcher, plasma rifle, and more to demolish your foes in frantic combat.

Halo has been made playable in Halo Infinite Forge (sort of)

Step aside Doom, fellow FPS game Halo might just take the cake on running on weird and wonderful hardware and software, as a Halo Infinite Forge creator has managed to get Halo running inside of Halo Infinite, with a twist. This isn't something I expected in the multiplayer game's Forge mode, but it's another incredibly impressive creation I can't wait to get my hands on with Forge's full release.

Two sisters from The Quintessential Quintuplets will get Fallen Angel figures, as Good Smile Company revealed Ichika and Nino Nakano ones are on the way. Each one features one of the sisters in a dress that matches their color motif and black wings. They will both appear first in Japan in May 2023. Then, they will show up in North America in July 2023. Each one will cost ¥29,700/$195.99.

Both the Ichika and Nino The Quintessential Quintuplets figures are over 10 inches tall. However, even though Ichika is the "oldest" sister, Nino is taller at almost 10.5 inches. (Both of them are 1/7th scale models.) Each one is wearing a dress, with Ichika's being black and yellow and Nino's black and purple. They both are standing on black roses with a ribbon "tied" to them. Nino also has one of her regular butterfly hairclips in her hair.

Touhou Danmaku Kagura Phantasia Lost

Touhou Danmaku Kagura is dead, long live Touhou Danmaku Kagura. The mobile rhythm game based on the popular Touhou Project franchise officially shut down as promised. However, developer UnknownX announced that it plans to salvage as much of the now-dead game as possible to rebirth it as a new title. Its name will be Touhou Danmaku Kagura: Phantasia Lost, and it's targeted for a release on Steam in 2023. It will appear worldwide. [Thanks, Dengeki!]

Key to the move is a crowdfunding campaign hosted on the Japanese crowdfunding site Campfire. The campaign will begin on November 4, 2022, and has a goal of 15 million Yen (about $102 thousand USD). Check out a teaser trailer for the campaign below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaLKwUbykuE

UnknownX stated that although it was "blessed with the opportunity" to redevelop the game in this way, it and its funding partners alone can't shoulder the whole development, which is why it's resorting to crowdfunding. The game will be a stand-alone title, and be operable offline, with the interface and rhythm mechanics redesigned for controller-based operation. It'll have a new story mode, set from the premise of reviving Gensokyo after a calamity left it in ruin. The Mitama Cards and their art will be incorporated into the story mode as a way to unlock the memories of Gensokyo. There will also be a free play mode allowing players to enjoy the rhythm game "to their hearts' content". Additional content like Mitama Cards and songs will be added through updates and eventually, paid DLC packs. The game will support Japanese, Chinese, and English language options.

Touhou Danmaku Kagura: Phantasia Lost is in development. Its crowdfunding campaign will begin on November 4, 2022.
