Destiny 2 lore means this weapon's sentience is now canon

Some Destiny 2 lore theorists say a weapon's recently-gained sentience should now be construed as cannon in the game world. Telesto recently began shooting out starburst patterns before seemingly taking over the game's official Twitter account. Though Bungie developers say the issues with Telesto have now "been resolved," the weapon itself should now be canonically known to be capable of sentience and may be something the space game's narrative team chooses to reference in the future.

Destiny 2: what is the Nightfall weapon this week?

Want to know what this week's Destiny 2 Nightfall weapon is? Each week you've got a chance at a different weapon for completing Nightfall Strikes, and ever since Season of the Lost, fan-favourite legacy weapons from the original Destiny have been added to the rotation. New seasons often introduce new weapons into the rotation, so it's more important than ever to know in advance the Nightfall weapon schedule.

In case you don't know what the Destiny 2 Nightfall weapon means, Nightfall: The Ordeal is a playlist available in the Vanguard menu, alongside the basic Strike playlist. Each week, a different Strike is chosen as the Nightfall, and offered in five escalating difficulties, with harder enemies, challenging modifiers, and enemy power levels cranking up.

The coveted Nightfall weapons have a chance to drop from any Nightfall Strike difficulty, but it's far more likely at higher levels. Your best bet for farming each week's Nightfall weapon is to set the Strike to Master difficulty, according to YouTuber Aztecross. You should also note that there's no automatic matchmaking above Hero difficulty, however, so you'll need to get a squad together.

Valorant ranked plagued by players using 'tactical usernames'

Valorant ranked players spare no effort to win a competitive game, even if it means changing their cool usernames to random formations. This new loophole sees players employing ridiculously lengthy tactical usernames to hide their ultimate points. While it may seem like a non-issue, higher-ELO players are thoroughly annoyed. It's a lesser-known fact, but ult points help monitor the enemy's position, tactics, and strategy in the FPS.

Marvel Snap tier list November 2022: the best cards in Pool 1

A Marvel Snap tier list for cards is an interesting prospect, because you're limited to 12 cards per deck despite the huge number of cards in the game. While our list of the best Marvel Snap decks covers some of the most meta decklists in the game right now, this tier list for the popular card game looks at individual cards and their power by themselves, or perhaps when used in a combo with one or two others.

We've also got separate tier lists for all three pools in the game right now. Pool one is where you'll be if you're just getting into the game and has the most amount of cards, while pools two and three come later on, when you've risen considerably in collection level. So without further ado, here is our complete Marvel Snap tier list for every card in the game right now.

Like so many games buried deep within my Steam library, I am unsure when I bought Painkiller: Black Edition or my exact reasons for doing so. I expect it was cheap in some kind of daily sale. Perhaps I was hungover, and hoped a small treat would ease my aching head. I vaguely recall booting it up once, perhaps a decade ago, and getting no further than its main menu. Just when I thought I had my top 10 games of 2022 sorted, Obsidian release Pentiment, forcing me to shred my former list and grab my quill and ink for a rewrite. It's an odd pairing on paper - a detective thriller about a string of grisly murders set in the quaint countryside of 16th-century Bavaria - but, surprisingly, this coupling is a match made in heaven.

Its captivating story of conspiracy and murder is as rich and dense as its setting, and it's clearly made by a passionate team who have a deep love for the period. Playing Pentiment feels like riffling through the painterly pages of a medieval manuscript, but instead of finding the written gospel of saints and sinners, there are tales of angry farmers, greedy landowners, church scandals, religious turmoil, and murder. Fundamentally though, it's a historical tale about faith and truth, and the lengths that people are willing to go to preserve them.

Lost Ark Gold Earn Update

Ahead of a major November 2022 update, Lost Ark Developers Smilegate announced that there will be some changes made as to how players can earn Gold. This is due to a persistent bot issue that plagued the game since its February 2022 release. The Developers acknowledged that alongside the bot problem, inflation within the game continues to rise. Several of these changes are being made to combat both. The information comes through an official blog post, which outlines all intended changes in detail. These updates will appear on November 16, 2022.

The changes include:

  • Removed Gold from Rapport rewards. All Rapport Gold rewards will be replaced with other items, such as Engraving Recipe Chests, Card Packs, Card XP and Amulets used in the new Tripod system.

  • Removed Gold from Welcome Quest completion rewards. All Gold rewards from the quests will be replaced with Silver.

  • Oreha's Well Abyss Dungeon [Normal Difficulty] Gold rewards reduced from 1500 total Gold to 900. The recommended Item Level and the requirement to matchmake into Oreha Preveza has been lowered from 1340 to 1325, equal to Aira's Oculus.

Alongside the changes the Gold system in Lost Ark, major adjustments will be made to the user interface, the Stronghold, quests, and general quality of life updates. All of this comes before the introduction of the Reaper, the third Assassin Advanced Class to appear in Lost Ark. To commemorate the release of the Reaper in North America and Europe, players will get a chance to obtain a Punika Powerpass which can be redeemed until January 18, 2022. A Hyper Express Event will also be held, with missions available to complete until February 8, 2022.

Lost Ark is available on PC. The November "Feast with Friends" update will arrive on November 16, 2022.

How to Evolve an Inkay into Malamar in Pokemon Go

Some of the Pokemon GO evolutions aren't obvious, which means doing something like getting an Inkay to evolve into Malamar could confuse people. The thing is, Niantic decided to reference the character's original evolutionary method. That means thinking outside of the box and requiring another action. So once you get enough candies, actually making things happen is fairly easy.

How to Evolve an Inkay into Malamar in Pokemon Go

How to Catch an Inkay in Pokemon GO

Inkay tends to be one of the rarer characters in Pokemon GO, so it might take a while to find them! They can appear in the wild. Which is good, because it doesn't mean relying on Raids or eggs. Standard and shiny versions are available. (The shiny one debuted during the September 2022 Inkay Limited Research.)

How to Evolve an Inkay into Malamar in Pokemon Go

Getting an Inkay to evolve into Malamar is honestly quite easy in Pokemon GO. First, you need 50 Inkay candies. Use Pinap berries to increase the yield from catching. Once you have 50, turn your phone upside-down. This is in reference to the 3DS entries, like Pokemon X and Y. While the phone is upside-down, press the button to evolve it.

Pokemon GO is available for Android and Apple iOS devices. In case you missed it, here's how Teddiursa can become Ursaring and Ursaluna.

Pokemon Scarlet Violet Overview Trailer gameplay

Nintendo published a new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Overview Trailer, which highlights basic gameplay mechanics that will appear in the title. This includes other useful information, such as a better introduction to the three Starter Pokemon. Alongside general details about the Paldea Region, such as unique variants and entirely new Pokemon players can acquire there. The Overview Trailer also briefly touched upon the Terastallization mechanic, which is entirely unique to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Tera Raid battles were touched upon in the trailer. Footage showed up to four players taking on a wild Pokemon as a timer counted down in real-time. This is different than how Pokemon Sword and Shield handled Raid Battles. Which had a countdown timer based on turns passed.

You can watch the gameplay in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Overview Trailer below. Please keep in mind that it will contain spoilers, such as footage of new Pokemon (and version exclusives), explanations of new mechanics, and a brief glimpse of notable NPCs.

Additionally, the trailer goes into other features. This includes the use of the Camera App to take in-game screenshots that can be applied to your unique player profile. Players can also have picnics with their Pokemon, which will increase their bond. The picnic mechanic will let you wash your Pokemon, and assemble a sandwich that you can share with your party.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will launch on November 18, 2022.

Dragon Quest Island Winter Christmas

Hyogo prefecture's Dragon Quest Island amusement park attraction is dressed up for the season. According to an announcement released via the locale's official Twitter account, the area now sports winter-themed decor to suit the time of year. They're calling the limited-time attraction the "Winter of Onokogard." The decor and themed attractions include a giant Christmas Santa Slime and other festive Dragon Quest monsters, will run through January 9, 2023. The Christmas decor will come down a little bit earlier, though, with a scheduled close-out on December 25, 2022.

Opened in 2021Dragon Quest Island is a part of the "Nijigen no Mori" ("2D Forest") portion of Hyogo's Awaji Island Park. It's designed to give visitors the experience of stepping into a world pulled straight from the RPG. When they visit, they'll step through the castle gates, into the town of Onokogard. Onokogard is designed to look like the fantasy-medieval type of town reminiscent of the game, and is named after the mythical Japanese Onogoro Island (Awaji Island was once thought of as the "historical" Onogoro). Once inside, players can go on quests, fight monsters using a special "adventure card", and eat. Certain grades of ticket include exclusive items, like a backpack designed to look like a Dragon Quest shield.

Besides Dragon Quest Island, the Nijigen no Mori boasts various attractions based on anime and pop culture. These include a replica of Naruto's Hokage Rock and parts of Konoha village (including Naruto's favorite restaurant, Ramen Ichiraku), and a zipline through Godzilla's mouth.

The Dragon Quest Island "Winter of Onokogard" winter and Christmas promotion lasts through January 9, 2023.

This Way Madness Lies

The cartoon antics of a magical girl anime don't come to mind as the most compatible thing with the classical drama of William Shakespeare. Yet, Zeboyd Games' This Way Madness Lies makes a compelling case for the fusion.

Like the prologue to Romeo and Juliet, the game wastes no time in getting players up and running. The Stratford-Upon-Avon High Drama Society has a side job: Becoming the magical "Ingenues" capable of crossing over into other dimensions. Those other dimensions? The worlds of Shakespeare's plays themselves! Right at the beginning of the game, you're thrust into one such play-world, and must rescue Romeo after he's kidnapped by gross Chaos monsters.

Why do the theater kids have this power? What is causing the chaos beasts to run riot in fictional worlds turned real? Where is this all going?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJNN67ZpbeI

In a broad sense, the answers to those questions don't matter. One of the  ways in which This Way Madness Lies is inspired by old-school magical girl anime is that it doesn't have a huge amount of plot. Up until almost the end of the game, what would be key questions to answer take a back seat to the crises of the moment. When the Ingenues aren't fighting monsters or rescuing Shakespearean characters, they're putting on plays and hanging out. This game is far too busy having fun to resolve as a genuinely coherent narrative.

The good news is that's absolutely fine. This Way Madness Lies takes its magical girl inspirations to heart. The story flows episodically, like a cartoon series made for younger viewers that might not keep up with complex plotting. Between adventures, players will be able to chat with the group, to learn more about their lives or just hear a funny quip about the current situation.

This Way Madness Lies

While there's no denying that the main narrative is pretty insubstantial, it's never unenjoyable. The writing is on-point and frequently quite funny. Its use of Shakespeare's plays clearly comes from a place of genuine appreciation for the subject. During class and when putting on their plays, the club engages honestly with the work, acknowledging frankly the Bard's lesser works and regularly calling out points of criticism, like harmful attitudes or even the occasional spot of bad plotting.

Zeboyd also pulls in a clever feature: A Shakespearean-to-Modern "translator." The characters in the Shakespeare worlds speak "ye olde English," as in the original work, and at any time you can press a button to bring up a "translation" of the line into "Zeboyd English." At times these bits help to make a line more comprehensible to someone who can barely remember their English Lit classes. At other times they do stumble, as they're written for laughs, but sometimes stray into the kind of ironic snark that clashes with the earnest tone of the rest of the game. It is a pretty rare flat point in a game that otherwise doesn't miss.

Zeboyd Shakespeare RPG

The battles are also a high point, with a combat system reminiscent of Zeboyd's Cosmic Star Heroine. You have a party of four characters, and each has a large suite of skills you can use without worrying about things like MP cost. Instead, using a skill typically locks it out until you spend a turn "recharging." Add to that a "hype" system that causes each character to enter "hyper mode" every few turns and "Unite Skills" that are more effective after a certain number of turns pass, and you've got a cleverly designed system that rewards thinking a few moves ahead and sidesteps the "point management" that can burden some JRPGs.

At higher difficulty levels, timing your skill use and taking advantage of both elemental weaknesses and status effects becomes critical. You can adjust difficulty at any time too, which is good for when some boss battles towards the end start to feel a bit too long.

This Way Madness Lies JRPG

This all happens among excellent, retro-inspired pixels. The battle screens in particular take after the Shining Force series and display characters in a detailed, "semi-3D" framing that shows off the quality of the character art. I almost wish Zeboyd had gone on to make the rest of the game look like the battle segments, as the field exploration and cutscene sprites seem more "common" in comparison.

Finally, This Way Madness Lies does something quite apropos for a game meant to be light and funny: It doesn't wear out its welcome. Like a good standup routine or a well-considered script, the whole game feels tight, with a full run taking eight to twelve hours. That timing largely depends on your choice of difficulty and how much you decide to grind, which you can do by launching battles straight from the menu.

What this This Way Madness Lies lacks in terms of narrative depth, it more than makes up for in refreshing combat and clever characterization. It's a breath of fresh air that also serves as a heartfelt sendup to both classic JRPGs and classic literature.

This Way Madness Lies is available on PC via Steam.

Characters Unite for Last Star Ocean: The Divine Mini Manga

Square Enix's run of official Star Ocean: The Divine Force mini manga releases came to an end. It uploaded the tenth and final installment to the official Twitter account. The previous nine comics focused on characters from the latest entry. Each one was essentially a short gag manga with chibi versions of the cast. However, the last one brings in characters from across the Star Ocean universe to meet The Divine Force heroes Laeticia Aucerius and Raymond Lawrence.

A number of major characters appear in the first Star Ocean: The Divine Force mini manga panel. For example, Edge Maverick (SO4), Rena Lanford (SO2), Claude C. Kenny (SO2), Reimi Saionji (SO4) and Evelysse (Anamnesis) appear in the first panel. In the final one, the rest show up. In the back row, there is Rena, Sophia Esteed (SO3), Fayt Leingod (SO3), Millie Chliette (SO1), Miki Sauvester (SO5), and Fidel Camuze (SO5). In the front row, Laeticia and Ray are next to Roddick Farrence (SO1).

Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans G

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans G is now available on Android and iOS devices in Japan. Pre-registration rewards will be distributed to players in the form of in-game currency and a Gundam Barbatos. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

This mobile entry in the Gundam series ties into the events of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Uror Hunt. It also features turn-based battles. While the game is free-to-play, it does feature an in-game store where players can use real money to obtain item packs and currency.

As it passed over 300,000 pre-registrations Bandai Namco distributed 10 tickets that can be used to draw for pilots and Mobile Suits through the available banners. The other pre-registration rewards included the mentioned in-game currency and the distribution of the Gundam Barbatos to use in fights.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans G was announced in September 2019. However, development on the title had gone dark for roughly two years. In September 2021, Bandai Namco revealed that the game was still in production. Its original window for release was Spring 2022. This was eventually pushed back. Now the title is available for mobile devices.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans G is now available for Android and iOS devices in Japan. There is no word of a potential Western release or localization.

The new Atelier Ryza 3 key art is here, and it features three returning characters alongside Reisalin "Ryza" Stout. Fittingly, they're her childhood friends from Kurken Island. People can see what not only she, but Lent Marslink, Klaudia Valentz, and Tao Mongarten look like all grown up.

Ryza, Lent, Klaudia, and Tao appeared as playable characters throughout the Atelier Ryza trilogy and return in 3. In each entry, players get to see how the characters progressed through their goals over the years. Some of their new outfits in the Atelier Ryza 3 highlight their progress. For example, Lent wanted to be a strong warrior and explorer. His sword and armor are more elaborate and he has more muscles in this art. Klaudia's always appeared as a more refined young woman and aspiring musician, and her outfit seems more elegant in this installment.

Here's a closer look at the characters in the full Atelier Ryza 3 key visual.

One childhood friend doesn't show up in that picture. Bos Brunnen, who appeared in the past games, will return and finally be a playable character.

Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key will come out on the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam on February 24, 2023 worldwide.

Pikachu and Gengar Pokemon Squishmallow Release Teased

The Pokemon Squishmallow line is going to kick off with Gengar and Pikachu. It seems like both could be home for the 2022 holiday season. The official Pokemon Twitter account teased their release. It showed a brief video of a woman lying on a bed of Gengars and Pikachus while tossing a Pikachu plush in the air. The announcement noted both stuffed animals will appear via the Pokemon Center storefront. It also limited the upcoming release, set for "very soon," to Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Here's the full video clip. It appears that both the Pikachu and Gengar Pokemon Squishmallow plush could be about 14 inches tall. However, it seems like non-licensed versions of Squishmallows of that size tend to cost around $20 each.

As a reminder, both characters debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Pikachu and Gengar were both on display at a booth showing off an array of Squishmallow products. Allegedly, additional waves of characters will appear. Supposedly, Snorlax and Togepi Squishmallow stuffed animals will also eventually be released.

While there's no release date for either the Pikachu or Gengar Pokemon Squishmallow plush yet, they are "coming soon" to Canada, the UK, and the USA. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will come to the Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022.

Senran Kagura New Link Danmachi

Mobile game Senran Kagura New Link is getting a crossover with Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (DanMachi, for short). The event will add three new playable characters to the roster drawn from DanMachi's cast. The characters are the goddess Hestia, elven guardian Ryu Lion, and first-class adventurer Ais Wallenstein. The event went live on November 15, 2022.

Check out a teaser trailer for the Senran Kagura New Link x DanMachi crossover below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dlh0nbp31I

The event teaser shows off the new playable characters and their abilities in battle. Ryu, Ais, and Hestia appear as they do in the DanMachi anime series' 4th season. They can also sport unlockable swimsuits. DanMachi protagonist Bell Cranel doesn't appear in the Senran Kagura New Link DanMachi crossover, but the event rewards costume parts for the character Miyabi that mimic Bell's costume and hairdo.

Ryu Lion is dressed in her outfit from her time as an adventurer. In the anime, she first appears as an unassuming waitress at the local tavern. Later on, viewers learn of her past as a highly skilled adventurer. Ais Wallenstein has played a major role in the DanMachi storyline, being idolized by Bell and having a reputation as one of the strongest adventurers around. She also led her own series, the DanMachi spin-off anime Sword Oratoria. Hestia is DanMachi's heroine, and the divine head of the Hestia Familia, the group to which Bell belongs.

Senran Kagura New Link is available on iOS and Android devices in Japan. DanMachi is available for streaming on services like HiDive and Netflix. The Senran Kagura New Link DanMachi crossover event runs until November 29, 2022.

Here are the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Version Exclusives (So Far)

Every Pokemon game features its exclusives. It's a tradition, given that there are two versions for each one. The idea is, of course, to encourage a sense of community alongside the drive to catch them all. As Pokemon Scarlet and Violet aren't out until November 18, 2022, we don't know all of the exclusives and differences in each version yet.

First, here are the exclusive Pokemon that will be found in Pokemon Scarlet.

  • Armarouge
  • Great Tusk (Donphan)
  • Larvitar (and by extension, Pupitar and Tyranitar)
  • Koraidon
  • Stonjourner

Next, these are the exclusive Pokemon that appear in Pokemon Violet.

  • Bagon (and by extension, Shellgon and Salamence)
  • Ceruledge
  • Eiscue
  • Iron Treads (Donphan)
  • Miraidon

While the Pokemon featured in each one are the main differences, there are some tied to the school as well. The Pokemon Scarlet school is Naranja Academy and features a uniform with red accents. It is also the game with Professor Sada as your mentor. In Pokemon Violet, players will attend Uva Academy, wear a uniform with purple in it, and be reporting to Professor. Turo.

There are also some leaked version-exclusive characters that will appear that are called "Paradox" Pokemon. As these are coming from early copies or datamines, all details aren't available yet. However, the initial reports online suggest the following characters will also be in each game.

Editor's Note: There are leaked Pokemon Scarlet and Violet spoiler version exclusives that mark additional differences between the two titles.

In Pokemon Scarlet, people will supposedly see Brute Bonnet (Amoonguss), Flutter Mane (Misdreavus), Roaring Moon (Salamance), Sandy Shocks (Magneton) and Slither Wing (Volcarona). In Pokemon Violet, Iron Bundle (Delibird), Iron Hands (Hariyama), Iron Jugulis (Hydreigon), Iron Moth (Volcarona), Iron Thorns (Tyranitar), and Iron Valiant (Gallade) apparently appear.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will launch on November 18, 2022. There will be a "day one patch."

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Splatoon 2, and Other Game Update Patches Appear

A number of older Nintendo Switch games all require fresh downloads to play online. An update went out not just for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but also ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Super Mario Maker 2. However, they seem to be inconsequential ones designed to fix minor issues or perhaps potential loopholes. [Thanks, Resetera!]

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Super Mario Maker 2 support pages note the update patch details for each one. However, you don't need to actually visit each page. Nintendo's official patch notes for each one is identical. They all say, "Several issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience."

In each case, it's been a while since a patch appeared. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the most recent one, as its 2.0.5 patch appeared in February 2022 ahead of 2.0.6. The last Splatoon 2 update showed up in September 2021 and involved rebalancing. Super Mario Maker 2 hasn't changed since July 2020. That involved a change to keep Ninji Speedruns fair. Finally, this is the first ARMS update since September 2018. It added Nintendo Switch Online app support and involved rebalancing.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, ARMS, Splatoon 2, and Super Mario Maker 2 are available for the Nintendo Switch, with new update patches available for each as of November 14, 2022.

Somerville Long Purple RainYesterday, Somerville, the debut game of developer Jumpship, dropped on PC. It functions as an atmospheric, narrative-driven adventure game that bears more than a little resemblance to games like Limbo and Inside, although, unlike those games, Somerville lets players run around in a 3D space. So far, Somerville has received fairly mixed reviews from both critics and users, but of course, that should not stop you from trying it out if it looks genuinely interesting to you. But before jumping into the world of Somerville, you may want to know, on average, how long it takes to finish the adventure. If you simply want to reach the end of Somerville without bothering too much with optional content, then your playthrough will likely last around four to five hours. It should go without saying, but that length will vary depending on whether or not you find yourself stuck on a puzzle or other tricky section. What about 100%? If you wish to see everything Somerville has to offer, ho...

Mei Overwatch 2To no one's surprise, Overwatch 2 continues to fumble during its early life. The trend continues today, as Blizzard has announced that the highly anticipated Overwatch 2 balance patch is now delayed. Yes, this means that the high-energy Zarya, often running your games, or the Genji and Sombra making your life a living nightmare, will keep on dominating the ladder. It also means that the damage hero, Mei, will still be unplayable after a bug (that wasn't even really her fault) prompted Blizzard to temporarily delete her from the game. This news comes from an official post by Community Manager Craig on the Blizzard forums. According to Craig, the Overwatch 2 patch needs to be delayed so Blizzard can "resolve a critical issue." The delayed content will include "balance changes, bug fixes, including those that affect Mei, and core content updates we have planned for this patch." This will also delay the Overwatch League Viewership Incentives & Perks ...

American Truck Simulator Texas Preview is it worth it impressions featIn a way, the Texas map expansion for American Truck Simulator feels like a moment that the developers at SCS Software has spent nearly seven years building up to. The game has grown considerably in complexity and scope since its humble 2016 roots, and the expansion feels like the embodiment of that effort. This is fitting, since American Truck Simulator – Texas this is arguably the magnum opus for the rest of the sim's life. After all, what's bigger than Texas?   Large and in charge That was a kind of a trick question — Alaska certainly is, by quite a considerable margin. But, so far the studio has not really expressed intent of venturing that far north. Not to say it won't happen, but considering most of Alaska contains a lot of barren tundra and ice, it would arguably be the least interesting of the virtual states to both create and venture through. Texas is the direct opposite. Real-life Texas is so vast that it spans two separate time zones, and has ...
