Siliconera Friday, January 20, 2023 3:00 AM It is possible for players to experience some romance in Fire Emblem Engage, with Alear able to confess love to another character in the game. However, it takes some time to reach that point. Like Fire Emblem: Three Houses, it also essentially involves an engagement ring. Once you manage to get the Pact Ring in Fire Emblem Engage, you can use it to propose to your perfect partner. Editor's Note: There will be Fire Emblem Engage romance spoilers below. How to Get a Pact Ring in Fire Emblem EngageYou won't be able to get the Pact Ring to kick off your new romance with a love interest until you're nearing the end of Fire Emblem Engage. After completing Chapter 22, a new Paralogue will open up at the Garden of Memories. It is called The Connector and tasks you with going into retrieve the Pact Ring you will use to propose from Corrupted enemies. This is a two-step process. First, you must defeat the Corrupted that took it from the pedestal to retrieve it before that enemy escapes from the stage. Once you have the ring, you then need to defeat all Corrupted on the map. This is quite a challenging fight, and having a number of people who can use healing staves on hand will help a lot. How to Start Your Romance with a Fire Emblem Engage Love InterestOnce you actually "own" the Pact Ring, getting someone to be your partner is pretty easy. All you need to do is reach an A-rank support level with one of your allies. After you do, go to your bedside table in The Somniel to retrieve the ring. When you find them in the hub area and talk to them, you'll have the option to give them the ring and trigger the romantic conversation. However, keep in mind that the ensuing dialogue isn't guaranteed to be romantic. While some characters will profess their love or even propose back to you, others will only mention being your ally or friend. Fire Emblem Engage is available for the Nintendo Switch. Siliconera Friday, January 20, 2023 2:00 AM So, you're picking up Persona 3 Portable and wondering whether you should go with Makoto (the original protagonist) or Kotone (the heroine). Generally, both characters are great! Their two routes also are rather similar. However, there are some Persona 3 Portable differences between the male and female protagonists that are helpful to know going in. 1. Obviously, Your Avatar Looks Different. This is a given, but if you choose Kotone you get a female avatar. If you choose Makoto, you get a male one. Some dialogue will be different as a result. For example, when Kotone is made leader of the group in Akihiko's absence, there'll be an aside about Yukari asking if Junpei is upset because she's a girl. Their costumes when you get certain items also obviously are different too. 2. The Male and Female Persona 3 Portable Protagonists Use Different WeaponsThis is a very minor difference. Makoto uses one-handed swords, while Kotone wields a naginata. So a male protagonist will start with a Rapier, while she'll carry a wood stick. However, both of them inflict Slash damage and they have the same attack stat, hit rate, price/acquisition method as their counterparts. So the Rapier and Wood Stick both have 37 attack and 92 hit. Then, when you upgrade to a Gladius or Tsukushi Naginata, it will feature 39 attack, a 96 hit rate, and will be at the Paulownia Mall Police Station for 3,400 yen. 3. Orpheus Looks Different. So, the Persona 3 Portable male and female protagonists' signature Personas looks slightly different. Orpheus is white, blue, and silver for Makoto and white, red, and gold for Kotone. Kotone's Orpheus also carries a heart-shaped harp. However, they are otherwise identical in terms of stats and skills. Each one will still eventually have Agi, Bash, and Tarunda and give you an Agi Skill Card. 4. Social Links Differ. This is the big one. Kotone has a number of Social Links that are different from Makoto's. She'll also be able to pursue romantic relationships with characters like Akihiko and Shinjiro, whereas Makoto couldn't. You also only get Junpei as a Social Link in the Kotone route. These are Kotone's unique Social Links in Persona 3 Portable.
Here's a list of Makoto's unique Social Links:
5. Kotone Can Pick Between Elizabeth and Theodore as a Velvet Room Attendant.Makoto can always only visit Elizabeth and take her requests when in the Velvet Room. However, when Kotone heads to the Velvet Room, she can choose between Elizabeth or her brother Theodore. This also means Theo replaces her as an optional fight and uses different Personas than she does. Persona 3 Portable is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PSP, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Siliconera Thursday, January 19, 2023 10:30 PM Nintendo announced that it plans on releasing more Switch consoles for the next fiscal year. It may also make a Switch based on The Legend of Zelda some time in 2023. Nintendo plans on increasing production and then shipping them from Q2 2023. This is due to both the end of the chip shortage and because the company believes demand will remain high. [Thanks, Bloomberg!] Ever since 2020, a global shortage of semiconductor chips affected over 150 industries, including the video game industry. This lead to companies making less consoles, as well as higher prices in order to make up for the lack of supply. Considering the Switch has been on the market since 2017, Nintendo may lower how many units it makes. According to a market analyst, the Switch's sales were not too impressive during the holiday season, even though the console was available. This is likely due to the Switch's age. Consumers may expect a next-gen console on the horizon to replace the Switch. However, because sales of the Switch increase based on highly anticipated titles (such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons or Splatoon 3), Nintendo may use that to drive its sales and meet its expectations. For example, it could release a special version of the Switch when The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom comes out. This is what it did for Splatoon 3 as well. Nintendo plans on producing and releasing more Nintendo Switch consoles over the next few months of 2023. The post Nintendo Will Produce More Switch Consoles in 2023 appeared first on Siliconera. |
