The last decade of anime has brought about a bunch of new names and faces to recognize than the early aughts did, thanks in part to the exponential growth of the industry.      Genshin Impact ads reference events that new players may never see

Certain Genshin Impact ads are so dated that they depict limited-time events new players may never get to enjoy. As a newcomer, it must be an oddly disappointing feeling to try the anime game because of an interesting ad, only to find out that the advertised Genshin Impact event no longer exists in-game, in any form. The Genshin community often raises this issue when speaking on the anime game's major flagship events - it's currently impossible to replay them.

LoL tier list 13.3 – the best League of Legends champions 2023

Metas change, LoL tier lists fluctuate, and your favourite champion might not be in a great place right now. While you can absolutely win games and climb the ranked ladder with nearly anyone in the lower ELOs, the changes that come via champion and item balancing can tip the scales enough that some picks are almost mandatory.

We've put together a few picks for each lane that have become especially overpowered in the 13.1 patch for League of Legends. Whether it's due to a buff, kit change, or item change, these are safe picks if you're looking to climb the ranks in the free PC game. If you do want to play something else, keep every one of these champions in our LoL tier list in mind for your ban, as they all have the potential to go on and dominate Summoner's Rift in one of the best MOBAs you can play right now.

Should you steal a Fwooper feather in Hogwarts Legacy?

Knowing whether to steal the Hogwarts Legacy Fwooper feather for Garreth in Potions class is a tricky one because, on one hand, you want to give a good first impression to Professor Sharp as the new fifth-year student. On the other hand, Garreth's "spectacular" potion is sure to be excellent, and you want to make friends and allies during your time at Hogwarts.

This isn't the only decision you'll need to make in Hogwarts Legacy, but it is one of the earliest, and Garreth does make a good case for himself in the RPG game. It's fairly simple to steal the feather - all you need to do is pick it up when you enter Sharp's office, alongside the ingredients you're actually in there for - but will you get in trouble? Here are the two outcomes of the Potions class decision on whether to steal the Fwooper feather in Hogwarts Legacy or not.

I've never had much of a desire for "I'm attending school" sims, because I hated attending school and not having to do it is one of the prime benefits of growing out of your teens. Running a school though? That's a challenge I don't mind taking on. Twopoint Campus does a great plate-spinning take on a school admin sim, but if you want something with cards, a dark lord, and the option for organic school meals, then... well, then you're making a very specific request. Returnal is here on PC and lo and behold, it's not as scary as it looked. In a hardware demanding, recommended spec kind of way, at least – those lanky alien tree-man enemies are greying what little hair I have left.

Like previous Playstation port Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, it's not the most easygoing game either, but I've cycled through my share of deaths and rebirths and can report that Returnal will make do with older graphics cards and middling RAM counts. It's a mostly well-considered porting job too, with optional ray tracing, various upscaling tools, ultrawide support for 21:9 and 32:9 monitors, and pages upon pages of customisable display and control settings.

The last thing you need when you've just crash-landed on an unknown planet teeming with predatory wildlife is to discover you're also stuck in a time loop. But that's the fate of deep-space astronaut Selene in Returnal, when she ditches her single-seater vessel on a remote rock called Atropos. Each time she falls foul of the local fauna, she pops back into existence right next to her broken ship, with no obvious means of escape. Forget Aliens vs Predator, this is Aliens vs Groundhog Day.

But what a day it is, as Returnal combines a best-in-class third-person shooter with a deep dive into the psychology of its protagonist. Selene's journey into Atropos, through a thick jungle, a burning vermilion desert and beyond, sends her circling through a smorgasbord of emotions – from confusion to hope, despair to determination. And so often, her mood dovetails with your own highs and lows of elation and frustration, until every part of Returnal encases you in its loop.

Loathe as I am to become one of those "want to feel old?" types of posters, this review requires me to point out that the original Pharaoh came out in 1999, almost 25 years ago. It was one of that era's City Building series that included Zeus and all of the Caesars, a run of games so good that they earned the capital letters. Pharaoh also happens to be one of my foundational video games, and I played it when I was knee-high to my big brother's desk, at a time when family homes had one (1) yellow-grey computer with a CRT screen. And now it's back, baby.

Pharaoh: A New Era means I can play that game of my childhood on my shiny black RGB-lit bastard. Honestly though, the "A New Era" part is a bit much. Sure, the updated graphics are fabulous and the quality of life changes mean it plays like smooth peanut butter to the 90s' extra crunchy. It's a good remake of a solid game, but the mummy in the casket is fundamentally the same.

johanna fate/grand order

Lasengle teased the appearance of Johanna, who will appear for a limited time in the Japanese server of Fate/Grand Order. She will be the Valentine's Day event Servant for 2023. The Valentine's Day event will start from February 17, 2023 on the Japanese server, and more information on her kit, profile, and voice actress will appear on that date.

This year will be similar to previous Valentine's Day events in Fate/Grand Order. As you complete quests, you will be able to collect points to get chocolates. You can then give the chocolates to your Servants, who will either give you a chocolate (female Servants) in return or a gift (male Servants). These events will have voices, which means that the download file for the update will be bigger than normal.

As well, you will need to complete Singularity F (Fuyuki) in order to participate in the Valentine's Day event. That being said, there will be some spoilers for Lostbelt 3 in the story. For certain Servants, you will have to clear their respective stories as well. For example, you will not be able to receive a gift from Oberon unless you have completed Lostbelt 6.

Historically, Pope Johanna (Pope Joan) was a pope who reigned for two years during the Middle Ages. However, modern scholars consider her story to be fictional rather than fact. She had disguised herself as a man and became Pope through her natural abilities. However, people discovered her sex when she went into labor. Details of her death vary depending on the story.

Fate/Grand Order is readily available on mobile devices, and Johanna will appear in the gacha when the Valentine's Day event starts on February 17, 2023.

Here are the screenshots of Callie and Marie, the original Splatoon idols returning for a larger role in the Splatoon 3 Inkopolis DLC. The characters already appeared in the game's campaign. However, now they'll return for Splatfest performances in the add-on.

Leading up to its release, Nintendo offered quite a few looks at returning and new residents of Inkopolis. People can see Annie and Spyke again, for example. There are also new characters like Fred Crumbs.

kingdom hearts playlist

For the 20th anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts series, Square Enix has made available a playlist of over 350 songs. If you listen to the whole thing, it will take over 17 hours. The music selection includes an orchestral instrumental version of "Hikari," which is the opening of the first Kingdom Hearts game. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

The playlist uses songs from the series's ten games. You can listen to it from Spotify, YouTube, or Apple Music. While promotional material for the playlist specifically mentions the orchestral instrumental arrangement of "Hikari," you can listen to other arrangements as well. For example, there is the Ray of Hope Mix (which PUNPEI remixed) available on the playlist, as well as through Utada Hikaru's official YouTube channel.

Yoko Shimomura is the main composer for the Kingdom Hearts series. Aside from original tracks, she has arranged pieces from the movies (such as "He's a Pirate" from Pirates of the Caribbean). Some of the game include classic songs such as "Part Of Your World" and "Let It Go," which are also in the playlist. Shimomura has also composed for Square Enix games such as Final Fantasy XV.

You can listen to the Kingdom Hearts music playlist on streaming services such as YouTube and Spotify. For those who wish to actually own the song, you can order a vinyl boxset of the soundtrack from the Square Enix eStore. This set will include "Reality in the Dark," which is the song in the Kingdom Hearts 4 reveal trailer.

People will be able to download it on March 2, 2023. The announcement also included details about what people will get to wash when the add-on releases.

When people head to Midgar in PowerWash Simulator, they'll clean both familiar Final Fantasy VII locations, vehicles, and enemies. You'll head to the both the Sector 7 Slums to clean up Tifa's bar, Seventh Heaven, and the Shinra Building to scrub down the Mako Energy Exhibit the team got to visit in-game. The two kinds of vehicles you'll get to wash are a Shinra Hauler that resembles the one Cloud drove and his Hardy Daytona motorcycle. Finally, there are two enemies available. One is the Scorpion Sentinel Cloud and Avalanche fought in the Mako Reactor, while the other is the Airbuster.

Here's a closer look at some of the things people will clean up.

Resident Evil Village VR Mode

Capcom showed off gameplay from Resident Evil Village VR Mode in its latest trailer for the game. VR support for the game, which originally released in 2021, will be made available for free via a DLC update. The mode launches on the same day as the release of the PSVR 2 hardware: February 22, 2023.

Check out the trailer below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6C95i1D1GE

The Resident Evil Village VR Mode gameplay trailer shows off scenes from the game, but rendered using some of the telltale signs of VR-equipped play.

For example, protagonist and player character Ethan Winters moves his viewpoint freely and independently of his limbs, much like a person with a VR headset and individual hand controllers would. Similarly, holds weapons and can aim them by holding them up to his eyeline. A brief shot of menu controls in VR is also seen, where players can equip weapons and equipment using a virtual cursor.

Resident Evil Village VR mode also includes things like dual-wielding, where Ethan holds and fires a different weapon in each hand, unarmed combat, and the ability to transfer weapons from one hand to another. A firing range will also allow them to test out the different weapons available.

According to Capcom, those interested in trying the game out on their PSVR 2 hardware (when it launches) will be able to do so through a playable demo, which launches on the same day as the DLC.

Resident Evil Village is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, as well as on Nintendo Switch as a cloud version. The VR Mode is currently exclusive to the PS5 version of the game, and will require the use of the PSVR 2 hardware.

Dragon Ball The Breakers Season 2

The next season of Bandai Namco's survivor vs. raider saga is coming soon. Dragon Ball The Breakers Season 2, the next wave of content for the game, goes live tomorrow on February 16, 2023. Bandai Namco's been teasing it for a while, and the highlight of the season is the addition of a new playable Raider: Vegeta.

Check out the preview trailer for the season below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6szcwj0JpE

The addition of Vegeta as a player-controlled Raider character is brimming with references to one of Dragon Ball Z's most iconic storylines: The Vegeta Saga. The second story arc in Dragon Ball Z, the Vegeta Saga recounts the battles against Vegeta and Nappa, two elite Saiyan warriors that arrive on Earth. Goku, who died in the battle with Raditz previously, must race back to Earth to save his friends and son before they can be killed.

The trailer for Dragon Ball The Breakers Season 2 shows hints about how Vegeta will be implemented as a Raider. At the first stage of evolution, the Raider player manifests as a set of Saibamen, Vegeta's disposable alien suicide troops. The Saibamen can latch onto a Survivor and explode, killing them in the same way as Yamcha. The next stage of Raider evolution puts the raiding player in control of Nappa, a powerful but standard fighter. The third stage of evolution will see Nappa executed by Vegeta as the former Saiyan prince steps in to fight directly. Finally, Vegeta can evolve into the massive Giant Ape form, which is ten times more powerful than a normal Saiyan.

When Season 2 of Dragon Ball The Breakers launches, players will be able to purchase the Vegeta Raider via TP Tokens. Survivor skins for Chi-Chi and Yajirobe will also be available for TP Tokens, while a Survivor skin for King Furry will, like Farmer from Season 1, be unlocked by progressing the Dragon Tier system for the season.

The Dragon Ball The Breakers next season launches on February 16, 2023. The game is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Check out Siliconera's review of the game.

Forspoken Best Spells

Forspoken drops its protagonist, Frey Holland, in the middle of Athia, a world brimming with magic. Before long, players will have Frey brimming with her own magic, too. Spells are the centerpiece and core of the game's combat system, and there are dozens to earn and use over the course of the game. Not all are made entirely equal, though, and we've come up with a very quick guide covering some of the best spells in Forspoken, how to use them, and where to find them.

Forspoken Spells

How do spells work in Forspoken?

In truth, the absolute best spells in Forspoken are the ones related to magical parkour. From Zip, to Shimmy, to Glide, and more, the abilities that let you blast across the face of Athia emphasize Forspoken's most distinctive aspects. However, since parkour abilities are basically essential parts of your toolkit that you'll use anywhere and everywhere, I'll ignore them in favor of combat-related spells and abilities. I'll also ignore non-combat spells, although anyone who wants to upgrade their gear should aim to get the Diversify, Rarify, Modify, Vivify, Amplify, and Fortify skills to maximize the effects of crafting and upgrades.

Your abilities in combat will depend primarily on your currently active magic color (be it Purple, Red, Blue, or Green Magic). Each school is separate, and although you can switch from one to the other freely, you can't use spells from one school while equipping another. Your general play style will also be determined by your chosen Attack Spell. Each school has three to choose from, besides the basic attack. Attack Spells are activated by holding down the trigger button to charge the spell. For example, Purple Magic's basic attack shoots a small rock at a target, but if you've got the Scatter Shot Attack Spell equipped, charging the trigger will activate Scatter Shot's unique rapid-fire mechanic.

You've also got Support Magic. Support Magic spells vary by school and have a variety of effects, from protecting Frey with a shield of rock to healing negative status effects or summoning minions. Each Support Spell has a cooldown time, so you'll want to wait for it to recharge after using it.

Finally, Surge Magic spells are your ultimate attacks, and charge up as you use Attack and Support Spells. They inflict heavy damage over large areas, often wiping out entire crowds of enemies.

Which are the best spells in Forspoken?

Which spell is best depends on your situation. Most enemies have some form of vulnerability or resistance to different magic types, which will naturally force you to change things up to avoid doing reduced damage. Similarly, fights against, say, hordes of Breakzombies are different from duels against tough Mutants, and you'll want to pick the right spell for the job.

That being said, I often found myself gravitating towards spells that helped me keep my distance from an enemy. Forspoken enemies can (mostly) only hurt you up close, so ranged attacks let me stay away from foes while leaving plenty of space to parkour around their attempts to harm me. I kept that in mind as I wrote the guide. This won't be an exhaustive writeup of every spell, but more a highlight of favorite picks and combos.

Feel free to experiment with spells I don't name in the list, as well. Forspoken lets you freely refund the mana spent learning a spell, in case you want to refocus your build. Try things out and suggest your own favorites in the comments!

The Best Forspoken Purple Spells

Purple Magic, also known as Frey's Magic, is the first school of magic you'll earn. An earth-based elemental school, Purple spells focus on shooting rocks at enemies from a distance. Purple spells also protect you directly, and cure your poison.

  • Best Purple Attack Spell:
    • Burst Shot
      • Burst shot is sublime. Frey's ability to just brain anyone she aims at with a massive rock that gets even bigger on contact is an all-purpose killer. Its only weakness is the fact that its range is pretty short - longer than the borderline-pointless Shield Shot, but too short to reach flying enemies or to keep yourself completely out of harm's way. Never mind, though, because the blast area and impact force will send most enemies sprawling and often knock them down, ripe for a follow-up Killing Blow.
  • Best Purple Support Spells:
    • Tendril
      • Tendril is a reliable tool in Frey's arsenal, and has a wickedly fast cooldown, so you'll be able to hit it relatively often. The whipping radius of tendril is quite large, and will often knock down anyone not really heavy or shielded up.
    • Disperse
      • Forget Cuff, your best friend in Athia is this little flower buddy. Disperse spawns a turret that shoots a stream of rocks at nearby targets. It doesn't do a terrific amount of damage, but every little bit helps. It also shreds annoying flying enemies that are beyond the reach of your Burst Shot.
    • Prime
      • Make Frey do a war crime (kind of) by planting a landmine where your enemy's likely to step. If a hostile's approaching, just drop a Prime cast right at your feet and parkour away for some good damage, and a knockdown if you're lucky.
    • Implant
      • Implant will feel a little weak at first, but as your stats build up, it'll become a reliable workhorse, doing damage over time to enemies while you avoid their attacks.

red magic

The Best Forspoken Red Spells

Earned from Tanta Sila, Red Magic is all about burning enemies and taking them apart at close range. This can prove problematic as Forspoken's combat isn't the best when you're mixing it up in melee, but Sila's suite of spells at least provides some compelling options to use when foes do get close. They also look very cool.

  • Best Red Attack Spell:
    • Rage Slice
      • The main exception to my general preference to keep enemies at arm's length is Rage Slice. It causes Frey to run up, deliver a barrage of punches, and then blast an enemy with heat. It also doesn't require you to do an awkward jump to use its best moves, like Arc Slice and Blast Slice.
  • Best Red Support Spells
    • Crucible
      • This is an excellent spell for any situation, trapping enemies in a burning arena that boosts your attack damage. Use it liberally to turn any battlefield into your personal killing ground.
    • Firetrap
      • Another useful spell that places hazards on the ground for enemies to walk into. It also hits bigger enemies multiple times.
    • Charge
      • A quick, powerful ram attack, Charge is a great way to open fights or break out of a crowd.
    • Fusillade
      • A useful protective spell if you're charging your Attack Spells (something that happens all the time).

blue magic

The Best Forspoken Blue Spells

The magic of Tanta Prav will finally give Frey the power of water and ice and a host of debuffing spells that can hinder bulkier foes.

  • Best Blue Attack Spell
    • Chain Bolt
      • It's the real sniper shot you've been waiting for and that's always excellent. Chain Bolt a little hairy to use in a crowd due to targeting only one enemy at a time, but it will deal a lot of damage at a faraway enemy. Make sure to "stock up" your bolt orbs by using the basic attack a few times before charging your Chain Bolt to maximize damage.
  • Best Blue Support Spells:
    • Alb
      • Alb is a critical spell to use in very tough fights, like ones against bosses and Mutants. It'll protect you from a single unblockable or piercing attack. That means you'll get a get-away-free card to use against a powerful enemy's worst hit.
    • Eagre
      • Eagre is a great defensive spell that gives you breathing room, since its barrier also pushes away enemies.
    • Naedre
      • A poisoning spell, Naedre does even more damage than Implant, although this can vary based on an enemy's elemental weaknesses.
    • Up and Away
      • More of a transition spell, Up and Away jets you into the air and replenishes your projectile supply.

green magic

The Best Forspoken Green Spells

Tanta Olas brings the lightning, which will give Frey the power of the storm. Green Magic can be used against enemy crowds even more aggressively than Red Magic, thanks to the basic "dart" attack's ability to "mark" enemies to take damage from other spells.

  • Best Green Attack Spell
    • Seeker Dart
      • Green Attack Spells are fairly well-balanced, but Seeker Dart has an extra convenience factor, since the lightning will charge between any marks you put on enemies with your darts beforehand. An excellent spell wherever you're facing more than one enemy (which is most of the time).
  • Best Green Support Spells:
    • Projection
      • Projection is as simple as it gets: Fire a huge lightning bolt that electrifies anything along and around its path. Great for when enemies are clustered.
    • Aggression
      • Aggression is a great support spell to weave in between your regular attacks and other spells, since the fan-shaped bolts will mark enemies they touch, setting them up to take a Seeker Dart.
    • Compensation
      • You should have Compensation on as much as you can, because it accelerates your Surge Magic recharge rate when you avoid attacks using parkour. That's a core mechanic, and it's great to be rewarded for it constantly.
    • Displacement
      • Displacement drops a double of Frey that distracts nearby enemies, a useful tactic if you're being pressured or want some room to reposition.

Forspoken is available on PS5 and PC. Check out Siliconera's official review, or a guide to finding all of Athia's magical cats.

Destiny 2 New Season DetailsLightfall, the next expansion for Destiny 2, is only a couple of weeks away. And in the lead-up to it, Bungie has released a new blog post that details changes and additions for the next season. The post focuses on the new season to come, and some structural changes coming to Destiny 2 in a few weeks. Suffice it to say, there are a lot of details to look through before Lightfall comes out for Destiny 2. To kick things off, the post begins with Bungie outlining some key goals for Destiny 2 moving forward. These goals focus on adding difficulty to Destiny 2, enriching the game's content, as well as expanding "players' imaginations" in the future. These are fairly big goals and Bungie admits that it may take a while to achieve them. But we're already seeing steps towards these goals. In fact, a few weeks ago, Bungie confirmed that the infamously powerful Resilience stat was getting a nerf. New details about Destiny 2: Lightfall – Season of Defiance Lightfa...

Returnal PC port report featured imageWe've received our first PC port of a PlayStation 5 exclusive. Aren't you happy? Returnal is hard as hell and, for me, it was also hard as hell to get a truly stable framerate while playing it. Which is probably mostly my fault due to being severely bottlenecked by my CPU. Mostly. The recommendations include a 2070 Super and 2700X and I used a 3090 and 2600X, so I figured I'd be good to go. And, to its credit, the game can run rather well. A lot of the time, I get about 75 fps which can go even higher into the upper 80s at times. Unfortunately, that doesn't account for any hitching. I regularly got frame drops down to the mid 40s while moving around, which is the absolute last thing you want in a game where the slightest mistake means basically starting over from the beginning. I played the game at Ultra settings, but turning it down to low gave me the same results. I also tried DLSS and FSR, which also didn't change things up for me. I've had thi...

Returnal Worth It 1When it comes to Sony's exclusive releases, they're usually meant to be enjoyed by broader audiences. Returnal isn't interested in this in any capacity. The tough-as-nails rogue-lite is Sony's first PlayStation 5 exclusive to get ported to the PC. And while I'm less impressed by the optimization than I have been of pretty much every other PlayStation game ported to the platform, the game is rather enthralling, even if the difficulty is high enough to scare away anyone without much affection for hardcore experiences. But the question stands: is Returnal worth it on PC, or is this one loop you shouldn't bother entering? Returnal kicks off with a woman named Selene crash landing on a strange, alien world. After surveying the wreckage of her ship, she discovers her own corpse beside her missing firearm. The game's death loop mechanic is completely baked into the narrative and isn't just something that exists purely for gameplay reasons. On...
