PCGamesN Thursday, June 22, 2023 12:15 PM How do you hatch a Minecraft Sniffer? This adorable, gentle giant only went ahead and stole our hearts with an overwhelming victory in the 2022 Minecraft Live mob vote. Over 50% of us (myself included) voted for this ancient mob to make its long-overdue return from extinction, with Mojang Studios bringing it back to life for the Minecraft 1.20 update. No doubt, part of the reason the sniffer won by a landslide is the new plant mechanics it enables. While we still don't know much about the Minecraft Sniffer, and the new mob is in very early development, a recent leak shows that this new Minecraft mobs is bigger than you might have expected but still just as cute. PCGamesN Thursday, June 22, 2023 11:41 AM Starfield looks spectacular. From its crisp, colorful world design to its many missions, customization options, and opportunities for player-driven adventure, Bethesda - from what I can tell - has summited a new peak in RPG game design. I try to resist effusion, or acting too deferential towards videogame makers, but with the Starfield release date now on the horizon, this is truly one of those cases where I don't know how they do it - even with hundreds of developers, presumably a lot of money, and many, many years of intense labor, the creation of something like Starfield seems to me almost magical. I don't think it's Starfield's fault, but when I watch and read about Bethesda's new opus, I feel a profound, almost disappointing lethargy. PCGamesN Thursday, June 22, 2023 11:41 AM Should I savage or sell in Diablo 4? This in-game mechanic has lots of useful benefits - not least clearing out your inventory after a long and tiring day ridding Sanctuary of evil. During our own time in Sanctuary, the blacksmith has probably been our most visited townsperson, and we're well acquainted with their salvage service, so here we detail everything it offers. The blacksmith isn't just limited to salvage, as they can upgrade your favorite weapons as well. However, the salvage service they offer is by far the most useful in the Diablo 4 early game and is necessary to farm some of the materials needed for upgrades. If you only plan on running one of the Diablo 4 classes or best Diablo 4 builds, you can also salvage items you pick up that your class can't use, and get some purpose from them. Perhaps the best use for salvage though is to obtain new wardrobe items, allowing you to wear one piece of armor or jewelry while displaying the look of another. PCGamesN Thursday, June 22, 2023 11:44 AM What is the best Honkai Star Rail Serval build? This four-star character is the reward character if you pre-registered the game before release, but if you didn't, you can also win her over by using Warps - Honkai Star Rail's gacha system. Serval is a Lightning/Erudition type who does some shockingly absurd AoE damage, and her damage-over-time skills make her more reliable than others. That said, she struggles when enemy numbers skyrocket or against one particularly adamant opponent. Your main goal in creating the best Honkai Star Rail Serval build is to make this Honkai Star Rail character a multi-targeting DPS. Even if you're fighting tons of enemies at once in the free PC game, her damage output can whittle them down to more manageable levels, and her shock status ailment will chip away at any foes still lingering around. While she may not be the highest-ranking character on our Honkai Star Rail tier list, there are ways to get around her shortcomings, and this build aims to do just that. Metas change, the LoL tier list will fluctuate, and it could be that your favourite champion might not be in a great place right now. While you can absolutely win games and climb the ranked ladder with nearly anyone in the lower ranks, the changes that come via champion and item balancing can tip the scales enough that some picks are almost mandatory, regardless of which rank you play in. We've put together a few picks for each lane that have become especially overpowered recently in League of Legends. Whether it's due to a buff, kit change, or item change, these are safe picks if you're looking to climb the solo queue ranks in the free PC game. While Sonic Mania was a 2D platformer, the studio's first game under their new name brings them into the realm of 3D, taking an incredibly vibrant colour palette that would certainly work in any classic Sonic game, and marrying it a world that one could say is mildly reminiscent of the hedgehog's rival Mario. |

So, I did the smart thing and roped in my pal Ed. Yes, my pal is also called Ed, so parts of this post sound like I'm referring to myself in the third-person. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, June 22, 2023 11:23 AM While the bug-squishing autoshooter is itself still in the larva stage, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor already looks like a worthwhile Vampire Survivors-like. It apparently helps to crib the mining, mineral hoarding, and maladroit approach to industrial safety that makes source material Deep Rock Galactic one of the best FPS games going. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is in the works at Funday Games, not original DRG devs and fellow Danish outfit Ghost Ship Games. But it does fall under the latter's new publishing arm, Ghost Ship Publishing, and can trace its origins back to a casual meeting between Funday co-founder Anders Leicht Rohde and Ghost Ship CEO Søren Lundgaard – and beyond. |

From now on, EA Games will be known as EA Entertainment, which really doesn't have as good a ring to it (no one's going to be quoting "it's in the entertainment," any time soon are they?). The name change does imply a broader expansion into more than just games, but it's obviously a bit of a wait and see kind of situation until EA show off something that isn't a video game. |

It's an adaptation on one of Toriyama's lesser-known mangas, which features a band of misfits who aim to right the wrongs of a king who's hogged the desert's vital water supply. I got to play it for all of 20 minutes, in a demo that was as stripped back as a grated cactus. Still, I got to sample a bit of roaming about in a tank, one brief stop at a town, an opening of one (1) chest, and some fighting. It seemed okay, I guess? But my main worry is whether its desert is interesting enough to hold people's attention. |

Siliconera Thursday, June 22, 2023 3:00 PM Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless seems to promise to be a more challenging, concentrated effort in comparison to Disgaea 6. While it holds all of the hallmarks of previous Disgaea games concerning its easily distinguishable character design, unique localization, and a wide breadth of classes, I felt it brings a new level of complexity to the fold after getting a chance to preview the game. Players can now use the Jumbificiation system, which makes a character of their choice (and it can be any character on the field) into a giant. The model will be so large that the character will stand at the edge of the map, ready to pummel any foes on the battlefield or any opposing Jumbified character. This new mechanic is exciting as you can literally level the playing field with a single punch, though sometimes at the expense of your own units. It also creates a higher level of tension when you have to use the Jumbification mechanic against bosses that are also Jumbified. It becomes a test of who can knock each other out first while also micromanaging your normal units on the battlefield. In general, this is an interesting gimmick mechanic for the Disgaea series. Jumbification can be done through killing enemies, powering up your meter to turn the tide of battle if it seems to be going awry. But players can still do things like throw units around the map and chain together attacks like they could in previous Disgaea games. From what I played, everything seems to remain intact, with the experience far more grueling and punishing than Disgaea 6. This feels more layered by comparison, and it seems to expect players to experiment with different character combinations to see what works against swaths of enemies on flat or elevated tiles. [caption id="attachment_969096" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] Image via Nippon Ichi Software[/caption] Hell Mode is another mechanic players will utilize to deal massive amounts of damage to enemies. Players need to kill opponents to fill up their Hell Gauge, which allows for specific characters to enter Hell Mode. In this case, during the preview I was able to test Hell Mode with dual protagonist Fuji. His sword was able to cleanly slice through enemies, obliterating anyone standing in my way. It made clearing the boss during a particular stage extremely easy, and ended the battle quickly. In terms of visual presentation, Disgaea 7 is still as colorful as its counterparts, with its localization still vibrant and fun. I had the opportunity to sample a bit of the story, which was just as nonsensical as previous installments. It was bursting with personality, and the overly serious Fuji was a great contrast alongside the excitable Pirilika, and the so-called ladies man Yeyasu. The voice acting was spectacular, and character illustrations gorgeous. However, it's still a bit hard to get used to the 3D models in Disgaea 7, mostly because they still aren't quite as detailed as previous installments. This goes for the stages I fought in as well. [caption id="attachment_969095" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] Image via Nippon Ichi Software[/caption] Overall, Disgaea 7 is shaping up to possibly be a great entry in the series. The stages I played required me to use my brain instead of just powering through it, and the Jumbification mechanic adds a bit of extra texture to combat. I'm excited to see where Disgaea 7 will go, and how I'll be able to utilize these new features to min-max my leveling and cut my teeth on the challenges this game will have to offer. Disgaea 7 will release on October 3, 2023 in North America, October 6, 2023 in Europe, and October 13, 2023 in Australia. It will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC. Siliconera Thursday, June 22, 2023 10:00 AM There's another new Honkai: Star Rail event involving the Simulated Universe and the Planar Ornaments you can earn there. It's one that's a little less involved than others. Rather, we basically go about our business in the mode, then gather rewards. However, HoYoVerse went over some things to know about the Honkai: Star Rail Planar Fissure event. To start, you need to already have access to Simulated Universe in Honkai: Star Rail. This starts after you go through the tutorial Doomsday Beast boss fight at Herta Space Station. Doing that will unlock the Adventure Mission "Simulated Universe (Part 1)." You'll then need to complete all associated missions with that questline, which also includes "Simulated Universe: Second Closed Beta." Once you unlock complete access to this mode, you need to unlock World 3. If you have, then you can start getting the additional Planar Ornament rewards in Honkai: Star Rail during the Planar Fissure event. There's nothing special you need to do from there. When you go through Simulated Universe Worlds 3 or higher, you'll be able to get double the rewards after beating bosses for a limited number of times. As a reminder, Planar Ornament sets involve two pieces of equipment. These are the Planar Sphere and Link Rope. Like Relics, they boost stats and equipping two from the same set gives you a bonus. Honkai: Star Rail is available for the PC and mobile devices, and the Planar Fissure Simulated Universe event runs until June 28, 2023. The game will also come to the PS5 later in 2023.
