During the 2023 San Diego Comic Con, NetherRealm and Warner Bros announced a number of new Mortal Kombat 1 characters. Some are full characters. Others are Kameo Fighters. Not to mention six are Kombat Pack DLC folks. In total, Mortal Kombat 1 will get Baraka, Darrius, Goro, Li Mei, and Tanya in the main game, then Ermac, Homelander, Omni-Man, Peacemaker, Quan Chi, and Takeda Takahashi as DLC. First, here's the introduction to Mortal Kombat 1's Umgadi, which starts with Li Mei. The video begins by showing the warrior priestess. She was the former leader of the group. After that, Tanya appears. She then fights Li Mei. After that, we see Tanya hiding Mileena's "condition." It's then that we see Baraka, who is suffering from Tarkat. During the following gameplay footage, the Darrius and Goro Kameo Fighters show up. Meanwhile, here's the roster reveal trailer for the Mortal Kombat Ermac, Homelander, Omni-Man, Peacemaker, Quan Chi, and Takeda DLC. As a reminder, that pack will also feature Jean-Claude Van Damme as a skin for Johnny Cage and Ferra, Johnny Cage, Khameleon, Mavado, and Tremor as Kameo Fighters. Sega revealed what will happen in the first few hours of Like a Dragon Gaiden, as well as more details on some of the major characters. Kiryu will start the game as part of the Daidoji Faction. However, circumstances will push him back into the yakuza world, where he goes up against the Omi Alliance. [Thanks, Game Watch!] By faking his death, Kiryu was finally able to break free of his past as a yakuza. However, this means he lost both his future and his contact with his loved ones. So now, he works as an agent in the Daidoji Faction. One day, he receives orders to guard a smuggling operation at Yokohama Harbor. It seems that Kiryu has trouble fitting in with his colleagues, and he feels that his life is hollow due to the disparity between his past, abilities, and present. During the job, a mysterious group appears and forces the operation to grind to a halt since no one was supposed to know about it. The group recognizes Kiryu and realizes he's alive. Since Kiryu can't just let them go with that information, he's forced to once again enter the yakuza world. A combination Idolmaster and Love Live concert will take place on December 9 and 10, 2023 at Tokyo Dome in Japan. You can now apply to enter the lottery for advance tickets. This is the first part of the "Ijigen Fes," which will bring surprising collaborations to life to celebrate anime music. [Thanks, Game Watch!] Tickets cost 13,000 JPY ($91.70) for one day and 26,000 JPY ($183.45) for both. The concert will feature a large number of voice actresses from various Idolmaster and Love Live series. Some examples include Akari Kito from Nijigasaki High School Idol Club (Love Live), Liyuu of Liella (Love Live), and Honoka Kuroki of Idolmaster: Shiny Colors. As mentioned earlier, this is the first collaboration of Ijigen Fes. Ijigen can mean otherworldly, and as the name suggests, it will organize otherworldly collaborations over a variety of intellectual properties. They will all focus on music, with a specific theme of how songs in IPs such as Love Live have grown past the "anime song" genre. In an interview with Inside Games, Producer Shuhei Matsumoto and Director Takayuki Nakayama of Street Fighter 6 confirmed that the game will not have LP reset. There will be a new mechanic in place instead. However, they did not go into details about it in the interview. They simply mentioned that the team will implement it soon. [Thanks, Inside Games!] LP, or League Points, determine your rank in Street Fighter 6. Usually, in games with a ranked system, new seasons will reset a player's rank or at least lower them back down so that they can work their way back up again. It seems that Capcom plans to do away with that in Street Fighter VI. It will also open up a Master League for high-level players. Other tidbits from the interview include game balance. Nakayama said that the team plans on adjusting the game balance once per year. It will likely do so after major tournaments such as Capcom Cup, since it wouldn't be a good idea for the meta to change during a competition. It will also fix bugs that the player base brings to their attention, as well as minor adjustments here and there. However, it will always inform the players about the reasoning behind the changes when it does so. Street Fighter 6 is readily available on on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.
