Vampire Survivors is one of my all-time favorite games, and it isn't just because of my completely illogical obsession with all things vampire. In fact, it's a running joke within the community that vampires may or may not even exist in-game yet. Poncle's game is actually incredible due to its addictive gameplay and fast-paced combat. While each stage is half an hour long, you'll easily lose hours in-game as you forget what time even is. The indie developer recently sat down for an AMA on Reddit, answering questions and alluding to possible online multiplayer.

Best EA FC 24 best LB players for career mode

Who are the best LB players in EA Sports FC 24? EA Sports FC 24 left backs are an essential part of your squad, primarily there to stop attacking runs from attackers. Picking the best LB players can be tricky as need to look for good defending stats and balance them with physicality ratings like stamina and strength. The end goal is to have a rock-solid back line, one that's as comfortable defending corners, as it is shutting down attackers as they make runs towards goal.

If you're looking for the best LB players to sign in EA Sports FC 24, you're in luck. We've worked through player ratings, filtering out defenders until we're left with the absolute best. These won't include Heroes, like those that feature in Ultimate Team, instead looking at current players that are available for you to purchase. We'll give you a list of the ten best LB players, before going into detail on what makes the top five picks so special. If you're looking for help on the other side of the pitch instead, we have a guide on the best RB players.

Are Payday 3 servers down? The third installment in the Payday series went straight to the top of the Steam best sellers chart on release day, but its immediate success came with a downside as servers were slammed, matchmaking crashed, and error codes started popping up. For most multiplayer games, server issues come with the territory. When too many people try to play the game at once, sometimes those servers just can't hack it. About a third of the way through Mineko's Night Market, a young boy dressed as a fish says to his octopus-chopping father, "What? I just thought sending the local errand kid on missions was how people acquired stuff on this island." To many, this will simply be a comic jibe at what you, the aforementioned local errand kid, have been doing for the last eight hours or so. After moving to this rural backwater with your dad in search of a better life, you quickly realise that no one in this town ever gets off their arse to get anything done.

Instead, it's up to you, Mineko, to fulfil every last one of their desires, whether it's collecting 50 bits of wood so they can construct a frame for their new house (before asking you for 50 bits of paper to give it some flimsy-looking walls), buying and delivering them a sports drink they could have easily got themselves from the local shop, or crafting a flower box for them because, well, they asked you to. As I said, industry isn't exactly their strong suit here, and you'd be forgiven for wondering how any of them functioned as human beings before you arrived.

But this line of dialogue also strikes right at the heart of what a joyless experience Mineko's Night Market is. It reveals the cold, lifeless husk beneath its lovely visuals. It's nothing but 'Me, me, me' and 'Take, take, take' in this game, and NPCs offer nothing in return except soul-crushing tedium and a long list of repetitive chores. Animal Crossing this is not, my friends, so don't be fooled. This is about as far from 'cosy' and 'cute' as you can possibly get - and that's despite it having dozens of pet-able cats.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is, according to our reviewer Graham, "perhaps the best expansion pack ever made." Feh, small potatoes – Phantom Liberty's most prestigious achievement is surely how it heralds a new ray tracing feature that makes Cyberpunk 2077 look and run a tiny bit better. On specific settings. And only on GeForce RTX graphics cards. The more expensive ones.

Hello, then, to DLSS 3.5 and its Ray Reconstruction component. Like how DLSS improves visuals and performance with AI-aided upscaling and ant-aliasing, Ray Reconstruction injects some machine learning cleverness into the rendering of ray tracing. Nvidia say Ray Reconstruction cleans up artefacts and reduces the performance impact of RT effects, and judging by how it works in Cyberpunk 2077, I'd say they're correct – with the caveat that all its enhancements are, ultimately, modest.

There are many unsightly euphemisms for the various stages of game development. My favourite used to be "sunsetting", aka cancelling a live service game, aka "we dragged the servers outside and smashed them with bats, gangland style". Hypnospace Outlaw used to be a very different type of game than the one we know today. Reworked skill trees and new minigames aside, Cyberpunk 2077's 2.0 update includes a Ukrainian localisation of the game's million-plus-word script. New Shonen Jump Two on Ice Manga Starts

This is one of the multiple Tezuka Manga Award winners with a new story starting the run. This is also the final of the three new series debuting in this latest batch. We can find the first chapter in English on MangaPlus and Viz Media.

As the name suggests, this is a figure skating manga. Hayuma Minekoshi saw the figure skater prodigy named Kisara skating a rink when he was a kid. He was transfixed by her performance and determined to also take up skating, as well as catch up to her. However, she eventually disappeared completely. However, in his third year of middle school his family moves to Tokyo near a rink. He gets a second chance to start skating and continue chasing his dream.

In case you missed it, the other two new Shonen Jump manga are MamaYuyuand Kagurabachi. The former is on its third chapter now. The second's second chapter appeared.

FFVII Rebirth Screenshots Show Junon, Gold Saucer, and Chocobo Ranches

Following the 2023 Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix shared an array of FFVII Rebirth screenshots showing places like Gold Saucer and Junon, as well as minigames and other activities. All of these offer peeks at what to expect. For example, the new Queen's Blood minigame is shown for the first time. There's also a look at the new Chadley towers we'll activate in the game.

First, here's a gallery looking at the various FFVII Rebirth Chocobo Ranch, Gold Saucer, and Junon screenshots. The Junon ones show both the upper portion, which Shinra is essentially using as a military base, and the lower part that features the remains of the village that once stood there.

As for minigames, three ended up appearing in the new screenshot drop. Two show off Moogle Mischief. This involves Cloud running around to catch the Mooglets and get them to mogstools, even though they'll fight back. Queen's Blood takes place on a 5x3 grid and involves playing cards to become more powerful than opponents. Finally, Cloud can play the piano at certain points.

Finally, the other miscellaneous FFVII Rebirth screenshots show other activities. If you activate old republic remnawave towers, you can see more of the map and points of interest. You can also fix Chocobo Stops, take part in an excavation if you're riding a chocobo, or take on Chadley Combat Assignments to improve his combat simulator.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. There is a Collector's Edition with extra items and a Sephiroth figure. The exclusivity period runs until at least May 29, 2024.

Pink Junko Enoshima Curry

Due to the popularity of the Master Detective Archives: Rain Code booth at Tokyo Game Show 2023, Spike Chunsoft decided that a pop-up shop selling merchandise originally only available at the booth will appear at the AmiAmi Akihabara Radio Kaikan store starting on September 29, 2023 in Japan. At the shop, some Danganronpa curry varieties will also be available for purchase. Pink Junko Enoshima curry, white Nagito Komaeda curry, and black Kokichi Oma curry will be available only at the in-person store for 1,200 yen ($8.06) per box. [Thanks, Denfaminico Gamer!]

With each purchase of a box of Danganronpa curry, people get a bonus sticker. Each character has a different set of four possible stickers you can get. The pink Junko Enoshima curry has a color reminiscent of the unorthodox blood from the Danganronpa series, as well as Master Detective Archives: Rain Code. Both of these series were written by Kazutaka Kodaka.

As a reminder, Junko Enoshima is a world-class model from the first Danganronpa game. Nagito Komaeda is a "lucky" character from Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. Kokichi Oma is the Ultimate Supreme Leader from Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony.

A series of multi-color Danganronpa curries will be available for purchase at the Master Detective Archives: Rain Code pop-up store at the Amiami Akihabara Radio Kaikan store. The store will be open from September 29, 2023 through October 9, 2023. Master Detective Archives: Rain Code is available on the Nintendo Switch. The first two Danganronpa games are available on the PS4 and Steam as a bundle called Danganronpa 1.2 Reload, and both games are also available separately on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PSP, PSVita, Android and iOS devices, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PSVita, Xbox One, Steam, and Android and iOS devices.

VShojo Seems to Be Teasing a New Vtuber

It looks as though another new Vtuber could be joining VShojo. The official account for the company posted a new animation on its social media account. However, unlike the GEEGA teaser, it doesn't feature an envelope, so this could also be a hint at another upcoming affair.

Here's the video for the new possible VShojo Vtuber. The only text is the hashtag #UndeadK9 and a tombstone. This could suggest it is a situation like GEEGA's where an existing Vtuber with a dog motif could be joining the company. In the comments, people suggested it could be referring to someone like Buffpup or Sinder. The footage shows a number of existing members of the company, like Ironmouse and Nazuna, gathering together around a grave. It then focuses on the tombstone itself, which is a black cross with black roses on it.

This would mark the second new Vtuber for Vshojo recently if true. On September 2, 2023, GEEGA revealed she would become part of the company. While she was formerly an independent performer, she ended up deciding to join up with the company. This was accompanied by a group stream with other members like Ironmouse, Henya the Genius, and Zentreya.

There should be more information about VShojo's "undead K9" in the near future.

Mineko's Night Market is a narrative-driven, social simulation adventure game that celebrates Japanese culture and invites players to craft whimsical items, eat delicious snacks, and ultimately enjoy all the cats.

I've wanted to play Mineko's Night Market for so long. I've watched the trailers. I interviewed the developers so I could learn more. It seemed like the sort of simulation made for me. In many ways, it is absolutely that. I'm having a great time. However, Mineko's Night Market doesn't run quite right on the Switch, and the extended loading times and lag can make that a drag on top of the other balancing issues.

Mineko's Night Market begins with Mineko and her father moving to a small house on a tiny island. It used to be home to Nikko, a legendary cat, as well as tons of other felines. However, strange agents patrol the island collecting artifacts and caging kitties. Also, it isn't nearly as prosperous as it once was. So, after being cajoled into it by new friend Bobo, Mineko ends up managing a night market stall, creating crafts to sell, saving cats from agents, visiting island locations, and learning more about the mysteries surrounding Nikko.

Review: Mineko's Night Market Might've Opened too Early on Switch
Screenshot by Siliconera

There's a fun sense of progression in Mineko's Night Market. Every week, you spend Sunday through Saturday afternoon gathering materials for crafts, talking to townsfolk to find what items they might need and getting them for them, acquiring new craft recipes, making items, and preparing for the night market every Saturday night. Collecting certain items, like stone or wood, involves tools you'll need to buy like axes and a pickaxe. Making new merchandise is tied to workbenches you'll buy to add to MIneko's room. Some actions, like creating an item or getting materials via fishing, involve brief "minigames" where you press a button at the right moments. As you learn more, unlock new areas, and build up relationships, you unlock more recipes, access to different areas, new kinds of crafts, lure more vendors to the night market as it gets more elaborate, and even see visual improvements to houses in town. You even get to the point where additional villagers move in because of you. You can really see the effect of your actions in the game, which is fantastic.

The issue is that everything in Mineko's Night Market is expensive, and the money you're bringing in from the weekly market or daily sales doesn't feel like it's enough to cover costs. So a drink that restores half of a heart of stamina can be $40. But some of the random fish you'll catch will be about $20 each. The tools and crafting equipment can cost you at least $600, and an early night market visit might only bring in around $700-900. To get new recipes, you need to give items to people. While about half the folks I encountered wanted things I could create, the others wanted stuff I'd need to purchase which, again, is usually a minimum $40 purchase. As another example, there is eventually an opportunity to pay to fish at a spot that supposedly has "rare" specimens. It's $50 per shot. I paid to try it five times. I ended up with five empty ramune bottles, which sell for $1 each. So instead of having fun just crafting and gifting, I felt like I needed to run a spreadsheet on my iPad on the side to plot out my purchases to balance workbench and tool purchases for progression with possibly getting a recipe I could actually make with what I'd already acquired.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqJocaBEOZc&ab_channel=HumbleGames

But also, stamina can get to be a big problem as well. You get a second heart fairly early on, but I can't help but feel small tasks like picking up flowers and hairballs take up way more energy than they should. Given the costs of stamina items, the "limit" of using only three per day doesn't matter much when you can't even afford to buy them. It really isn't all that fun when it gets to feel like, "Well, I picked about 20 flowers. Better take the bus home and go to bed so I can get 20 more tomorrow." That may seem like a lot, but when recipes for certain bouquets can use six of each type of flower and there are certain degrees of rarity for them, it can get frustrating.

Especially since on the Switch the Mineko's Night Market loading times are horrid. A patch did release while I was playing ahead of launch that fixed some issues, but it still takes an incredibly long time for the game to load to the menu, then load a saved game, then load when you're moving Mineko from her house to the hometown space, then load when you take the bus to a location or walk to the night market, then load again when you go back to your hometown, then again when you load when heading home to go to bed and sleep to start the process again. It ruins any sense of immersion and pads out the time spent going through each day in an unfortunate way. Which feels even worse when you factor in how quickly stamina depletes when gathering materials. This isn't even counting the odd moments when it can take an oddly long time between crafting an item, particularly the Sewing Craftbench, and getting the message saying, "Hey, you did it!" I'm also experiencing an issue where the outfit vendor, who had different clothes for Mineko to buy in at the Spring markets, hasn't sold anything since despite my not buying anything.

Review: Mineko's Night Market Might've Opened too Early on Switch
Screenshot by Siliconera

It's made all the more tragic because Mineko's Night Market is great in so many other ways. The writing is quite clever! I like how there's an immediate reward for any gift given to anyone, which in turn gives you a chance to make more. The character designs are fantastic. The agent challenges to save cats, while not especially challenging, are typically diverse enough to be fun. The general ambiance, soundtrack (when it isn't cracking due to loading), and concept is great. The Night Market portions are so much fun, especially when we see the commentary from Mineko around the "event" that closes out each one. The script is incredible, and there are so many funny moments or goofy quotes that beg to be shared.

There is absolutely a fun and maybe even great experience somewhere in Mineko's Night Market, but right now it is hidden behind balancing issues and Switch performance problems. I could absolutely see Meowza perhaps patching it and making any criticism I have for the title irrelevant over the coming weeks and months. But at launch, it can end up feeling a little too tedious and costly.

Mineko's Night Market will come to the Nintendo Switch and PC on September 26, 2023. It will come to the PS4, PS5, and Xbox One on October 26, 2023.

KFC x FFXIV Collab

An official collaboration between KFC Japan and Final Fantasy XIV will begin on October 4, 2023. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game, a Collaboration Set will be available at KFC locations in Japan. The set will include both real KFC products, one of a few options of KFC x FFXIV collaboration stickers, and an in-game item code for the new "eat fried chicken" emote. The Collaboration Set will cost 1,240 yen ($8.36). Check out the official web page for the campaign.

In terms of food, the FFXIV Collaboration Set comes with one Japanese-style chicken cutlet burger, one original chicken, a small french fry, and a medium drink. Of the variants of collaboration stickers you can receive, two of them feature a Chocobo and Moogle dressed in KFC uniform. As for the FFXIV KFC emote, here's another look at how it appears in-game.

The FFXIV Collaboration Set comes in limited quantities, and once it's gone, it will not be sold again. Considering how quickly the FFXIV potato chips sold out, this could also sell out.

This partnership was hinted at earlier this month on the KFC Japan official social media account. Also, a statue of a Black Mage Colonel Sanders was on display at the FFXIV Tokyo Game Show 2023 booth.

The KFC x Final Fantasy XIV collaboration will begin on October 4, 2023. Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC.

Furina and Charlotte Are New Genshin Impact Characters Teased for 4.2

HoYoVerse teased the two "new" Genshin Impact characters Charlotte and Hydro Archon Furina ahead of 4.2. It seems they'll be the new additions to the roster when the next update appears. This meant new official art for both characters, as well as some details about their element. The announcement didn't mention their rarities, though we already know Furina will be a five-star unit.

First, we've known about Charlotte in Genshin Impact since 3.7. She wasn't a playable character, but she played a big part in the event added in that update.  The Steambird newspaper editor-in-chief is known as the Lens of Verity. Her Constellation is Hualina Veritas, and she has a Cryo vision.

As for Furina, she's a new Genshin Impact character who first showed up in the 4.0 update's Archon Quests. She's the Hydro Archon. As such, her gnosis and powers are Hydro. Her title is Endless Solo of Solitude, and she's also referred to as the Regina of All Waters, Kindreds, Peoples and Laws. Her Constellation is Animula Choragi.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 4.1 update is about to arrive on September 27, 2023.

PlatinumGames and Hideki Kamiya announced that the developer will be parting ways with the studio on October 12, 2023. Both the company and the developer shared messages on their social media platforms. Kamiya has served as vice-president for the company since 2017. Some of Kamiya's most notable titles during his time with PlatinumGames include the Bayonetta series, The Wonderful 101, Astral Chain, and most recently 2022's Sol Cresta.

Here is PlatinumGames' message on the departure of Hideki Kamiya from the company:

https://twitter.com/platinumgames/status/1706201875564130785

However, the departure of Kamiya from PlatinumGames on October 12, 2023 doesn't mark the end of his career. The company wished him the best on his new trajectory, and Kamiya himself reassured fans that he will "continue to create in (his) Hideki Kamiya way".

Here are Kamiya's own words about the recent news:

https://twitter.com/PG_kamiya/status/1706202723962786259

Hideki Kamiya, alongside Shinji Mikami and Atsuhi Inaba, founded Seeds Inc. in 2006 after the closure of Capcom's Clover Studios. The company would later merge with Tatsuya Minami's Odd Inc. in October 2007 to create what we know as PlatinumGames today.

In early 2020, PlatinumGames announced that the company would take a new trajectory, with a new studio focused on developing games as a service. One of such titles was Babylon's Fall which released March 3, 2022 and shut down on February 27, 2023, short of a year after its release.
