Best PC joysticks in 2024: fly high with our top picks

What are the best PC joysticks? There are countless options to choose from, all designed to give you a greater level of control and precision in flight sims, fighting games, and other genres. Not only can they help to make your gaming experiences more immersive, but they can even offer a competitive edge.

You'll still want the best gaming mouse and best gaming keyboard for navigating menus, but the experience and immersion of flying are truly elevated when paired with a good joystick or HOTAS (hands-on throttle-and-stick) setup. Of course, commercial flights are just one use - you could use a joystick for shooting down hostiles from your starfighter in Star Wars Squadrons, so picking up a dedicated joystick rather than using the best PC controller is a great way to improve your accuracy and immersion.

A simple all-in-one HOTAS controller combines both the throttle and the flight stick, while a dedicated flight wheel with multiple instrument panels and a triplet of the best gaming monitors can create the ultimate flight simulator setup. The amount of cash you're spending on a flight sim setup can vary massively, so to ensure you've got all of the options we've rounded up the best pick for every price point and use.

GTA 6 release date estimate, trailers, and latest Rockstar Games news

When is GTA 6 coming out? Given how many years it takes to create open worlds of the same caliber as GTA 5, it's no surprise that Rockstar Games has already spent years developing GTA 6. The Grand Theft Auto 6 release date has certainly been a long time coming. What are the best Last Epoch classes? Having spent a fair few hours with each Last Epoch class, we have a reasonably good idea of which one you should pick up for your first run through the campaign. While the masteries for each one are a chance to pivot to an entirely new playstyle, the chances are that you want to know where best to start.

Defining which Last Epoch classes are the best for specific roles, such as endgame spelunking through dungeons, PvP duels, or wiping out tough bosses with ease, is tricky as everyone's just as capable, thanks to the masteries. A lot of the time, though, you'll need to rely on your chosen specialism and build as a whole. One way to do that is by checking our Last Epoch crafting guide for tips on affixes, glyphs, and runes.      The best Solium Infernum Relics

What are the best Solium Infernum Relics? As with most RTS games, the road to victory in Solium Infernum is heavily based on the strength of your game plan. Set in the depths of Hell, the road to victory in Solium Infernum is also influenced, then, by just how scheming and conniving you can be - but a little help from some outside factors never hurt anybody, right?

Solium Infernum Relics are items that grant a specific buff to the character holding them, and are locked in at the very start of the strategy game, the same time as you select your Archfiend. Each Solium Infernum Archfiend is automatically equipped with Relics that suit them, but you can change this to match your own playstyle. Choosing something entirely out of character for your Archfiend may even help lull your foes into a false sense of security - Solium Infernum is a game of deception, after all.

The best indie games on PC 2024

What are the best indie games? The great indie boom triggered by digital distribution a decade ago turned out to be more of a Big Bang, firing small-team development into a plethora of directions that now defy simple categorisation. The sheer volume is intimidating, so we have plenty to choose from when compiling our list of the best indie games. Perhaps too much.

But we should take stock, from time to time, to appreciate everything publisher-less development has given us. Some of the games listed below were built in a weekend by first-time coders, while others were crafted by former triple-A creators who've instilled their independent work with the same technical standards. They barely have anything in common but a healthy dose of idiosyncrasy and ideas that make Steam worth spelunking and make our list of the best PC games.

I know this sort of thing has been said before around these parts, but in scanning through the endless reams of Steam Next Fest demos earlier this month and trying to work out what these games are and whether they're worth downloading, I truly believe it's a sentiment that's worth repeating. When I first saw the name C.A.R.D.S RPG: The Misty Battlefield appear on the Next Fest landing page, I instantly thought, 'Yes, here we go, now we're talking'.

Well, my first thought was actually, 'Gee, if only there was an easy way to know what this game's about based on just the title alone,' but that's just me being facetious. Ultimately, I have a lot of respect for this kind of naming convention, and the fact it's also being made by the Octopath Traveler developers Acquire is really just the icing on the cake.

I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting from Graven, but it still feels like it wasn't quite what I expected. That's both good and bad. There is, I think, a better game to be made with those parts in a different arrangement. This one is only kinda good.

Credit to Nightingale, I've been enjoying the early access form of Inflexion's gaslamp fantasy survival crafter a fair bit more than I did its older stress test build. The UI is cleaner and tighter, and I've had more space to explore (and enjoy) the mysterious nooks of its magic 'n' moustaches world. There's potential here, but it's very much the raw kind, especially when performance needs as much work as it does.

Besides relying on upscalers like DLSS for truly smooth running, Nightingale currently has a serious stuttering problem, and bumping into an ugly graphical artefact or even a hard crash is worryingly common. I've pulled together an optimised settings guide (down below) so that you don't need to drop the visual quality lower than is strictly necessary, but do keep in mind that this is early access with emphasis on the early.

After launching Nightingale into early access on Tuesday, developers Inflexion Games (led by former BioWare CEO Aaryn Flynn) have quickly realised a big miscalculation: lots of players want an offline mode. The gaslamp fantasy survival game requires you be online even if you want to play by yourself, which dovetailed poorly with server issues at launch to frustrate folks. Inflexion say that early in development they needed to make a choice between focusing on co-op or offline first, and now think they made the wrong call. They plan to remedy this, but it's not yet clear when they'll actually add an offline mode.

Them's Fightin' Herds Final DLC Characters Break the Game

Them's Fightin' Herds support finally ended with the release of new DLC characters Baihe and Nidra, but it seems both are broken at launch. As the Mane6 team was fired by Maximum Entertainment, formerly known as Modus Games, it is unknown if there will be patches to fix the issues.

Shadowking58 showed a video highlighting the Baihe infinite on social media.

It is fairly easy for people in applicable countries who are 18 or older. All you need to do is log into Twitter and retweet the official tweet, which you can see below, with the #PalworldXboxSweepstakes hashtag. Your account must be public and not private, or else your entry won't count. People have until March 17, 2024 to enter once. Microsoft noted it expects to notify the single winner about two weeks after the contest ends. This means the person who gets the system should know by March 31, 2024.

Microsoft noted it expects to notify the single winner about two weeks after the contest ends. This means the person who gets the system should know by March 31, 2024.

The console itself features multiple Pals from Palworld on it. The controllers are more specialized. Each one has one Pal on it and a matching color. So there's a blue Pengullet controller, a green Mammorest one, a pink Cattiva controller, and a yellow Grizzbolt variant.

This contest begins just after the game has been available for a month. When it hit that milestone, Pocketpair offered an update on sales figures. It noted that 10 million people are playing the game on Xbox consoles. When it comes to PCs, 15 million people play there.

Palworld is in early access on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC

Dragonite Pokemon Squishmallow Plush Listing Leaks Out

A Walmart product listing for a Dragonite Pokemon Squishmallow plush appeared online. It is unavailable to buy, but includes screenshots and details about pricing. [Thanks, Mzumwalde23 and Britzaaaa on Reddit!]

When the Dragonite does appear, it will apparently cost $14.97 for the 10 inch size. This is in line with Walmart's pricing for this line and size. (The Clefairy and Piplup ones there cost about the same amount.) The initial photos also show it will have the character's distinctive antennae, wings, and tail.

Here are the first photos.

It's important to note that these plush tend to debut in the Pokemon Center first at a larger size. Those ones also have a special patch on the back and tag.

It isn't uncommon for Dragonite to show up as a plush for Pokemon lines. For example, Build-a-Bear offered one back in December 2020. That one was notable, as it was larger than the typical Build-a-Bear Pokemon stuffed toy.

There have been quite a few Pokemon Squishmallow toys so far. Things started with Pikachu and Gengar. Togepi and Snorlax showed up after that. Piplup and a Pikachu variant followed. The most recent ones that appeared at the end of 2023 were Clefairy and Teddiursa plush

There's no release window or official announcement for the Dragonite Pokemon Squishmallow just yet.

Mw3 Ground WarA new error has surprised Call of Duty players today, but it is far from new. Here is how to fix the "Failed to request daily login" Minot Hawthorne bug in Modern Warfare 3. What is the Minot Hawthorne bug in Modern Warfare 3? The Minot Hawthorne bug is back to terrorize Call of Duty players, but now that it has happened amid Season 2, many suffer the same as beta players did back in the day. This error reads "Failed to request daily login" and it affects quite a lot of things. Many players report that this error pops out whenever they attempt to matchmake in Multiplayer, access a Zombies run, or even try to play a round of Battle Royale. In my case, it appeared when I attempted to play Zombies mode. This suggests there is an issue with the servers, therefore affecting all types of online functionality. However, it is particularly worrisome that this also affects player ranks by completely resetting them back to level 1. As reported back in the day, th...

Modern Warfare 3's Rank Reset Completely Broke Sbmm Featured ImageLeave it to Call of Duty to somehow please people even when their game is on fire. While the current state of MW3 might be concerning, other players have found an interesting attachment to the main problem. Easier matches thanks to Modern Warfare 3's broken SBMM Image: Sledgehammer Games It's been reported that players entering MW3 early on Friday ran into some interesting rank reset problems. And while developers are probably working on a way to get everyone's rank progress back, there is a silver lining to this. Call of Duty news accounts on X (formerly Twitter) such as CharlieIntel report that Skill Based Matchmaking (SBMM) is experiencing problems along with the server issues. With the servers currently broken in Call of Duty across MW3 MP and Warzone, it does appear that SBMM is also not working properly – and matchmaking is much more relaxed and easie...
