The champion pool is diverse and wonderful; each character can be purchased with currency earned while playing. Premium cosmetics, however, are bought with real-world money. These League of Legends skins and other cosmetics can be purchased directly using an in-game currency called RP. RP itself, though, must be purchased with your hard-earned cash. LoL skins change the base look of the character you're playing, with premium cosmetics adding new effects, voice lines, and animations. Then there's the battle pass that can be bought using RP, too. So, while League of Legends is technically one of the best free PC games around, you can see just how easily it can sway you into parting with your money. Back in October 2022, MegaHouse released its first series line of Pac-Man x Sanrio figures, and now a second collection is on the way. This time, only ghosts from the series appear wearing hats inspired by familiar mascots.
The new collection of Pac-Man x Sanrio figures will debut in October once again, though this time the window is "late October 2024." Each one will cost 660円 (~$4.20), which is an increase from the original volume 1 price of 418円 (~$2.70). Four are standard ghosts in pink or purple shades, and those wear hats based on Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, and Badtz Maru. The remaining two are "scared" versions of ghosts in purple and blue with Kiki and Lala Little Twin Stars hats.

While the new characters are coming, there will be a chance to complete the collection by getting older ones too. MegaHouse announced a rerelease, which is set for July 2024. The six figures in that line included two Pac-Man variants. One was in a crown, and the other featured Hello Kitty's ribbon. There were also four ghosts, which wore Hello Kitty, Pochacco, My Melody, and PomPomPurin hats. The price went up on these as well, as they'll also be 660円 (~$4.20) this time around.
The Pac-Man x Sanrio volume 2 new figures will appear in Japan in October 2024, following the rerelease of the volume 1 ones in July 2024.

Capcom revealed that a life-sized long sword replica from the Monster Hunter game series will be on display at the upcoming Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary Exhibition. The exhibition will be held from July 19, 2024 to September 8, 2024 at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi, Tokyo.
The life-sized long sword in question is a replica of the Kakaru Kumo Naki weapon. This is the base long sword that can be crafted by using parts from the Mizutsune monster. The sheath will also be exposed alongside an art of the Mizutsune monster.
The sword design includes motifs from the monster, such as cherry blossoms in its blade, the sword's guard, and the pink and purple color scheme. The sword took approximately 3 years to make, it is 2.2m long (or about 7.22 feet long) and weighs 150kg (~331 pounds.) You can take a better look at the Monster Hunter long sword replica here:
The Mizutsune monster made its debut in Monster Hunter Generations for the Nintendo 3DS, and later appeared in its MH Generations Ultimate title upgrade. Most recently, Mizutsune appeared as one of the monsters in the base roster of Monster Hunter Rise, and received a Violet Mizutsune rare species variant in the MHR: Sunbreak expansion.
Monster Hunter Rise is the latest game in the series. The game and its Sunbreak expansion are readily available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. Monster Hunter Wilds is currently in development for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam and is set to release in 2025.

I'm really disappointed in Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge. I expected a Neko Atsume or Usagi Shiima sort of game with a little more meat to it. While there are minigames and more objectives, the lack of interesting frogs and furniture to collect and repetition tied to completing goals makes it feel far inferior.
A lot of simulation games star protagonists escaping the drudgery of corporate life to a slower-paced, soothing, rural paradise. This is true of Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge too, with players returning to work with a childhood friend named Axel on a wetland restoration project and frog sanctuary. This involves earning money via creating products from the wetlands you revive, investing those funds into furniture for frogs and more wetland ponds and plants, and breeding frogs to prove the project is worthwhile and attract more people to help in different ways.
The concept is sound! The execution is not. Frogs come and go quickly, but it isn't so much that specific frogs seem to like particular pieces. Rather, all you need is to have something that a frog would enjoy, and then they'll set up shop there. What makes this worse is that it isn't like Neko Atsume or Usagi Shiima, where you know unique cats or rabbits with specific appearances and requirements could appear. You're waiting on green and silver frog with a yin yang Doblex design. Or a yellow and pink frog with a leopard print pattern. Or a silver and blue Victulus one with legs that are a different color than its body. Even less exciting is when you get, say, a Victulus kiwi kiwi style frog, because then it is green on green. It looks identical to a Doblex kiwi kiwi variant, by the way.
I get that part of this was to incentivize the breeding element of Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge, but that's handled really poorly too! Instead of going with randomized genetics from two frogs you tamed by feeding them the exact bugs they wanted in the order they asked, you play Tic-Tac-Toe against an NPC. In my experience, it meant I was lucky if I got one guaranteed trait I wanted through to the final frog. So if you're hoping for a Doblex silver pink and not a Doblex pink pink or pink silver, good luck!
Breeding and furnishing, as well as feeding frogs to tame them, is tied to the wetlands restoration element of the game. Unfortunate, this ends up being tedious and involves Cookie Clicker style elements. After you invest in acquiring certain types of ponds and plants, you place them. You then need to click everyone once in a while on spots to catch bugs to feed frogs. Clicking another button gathers resources you'll use to make things like food and paper goods to sell for cash, which you can then invest in more wetlands parts, frog furniture, and breeding.
The minigames tied to product production also turns into quite a chore. All of the food products? Those use the same minigame that involves turning on a stove, aligning mirrors just so to direct light down, and pressing A when the moving indicator is in the center. Paper goods? Again, arrange, press the buttons, and it never changes for any product. At least the quality of life feature here means you can make more than one of an item when playing the minigame once, so you aren't repeating the same process endlessly.
Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge is a letdown, as it doesn't feel compelling or rewarding to collect frogs, acquire money, or build up the frog sanctuary. I got more out of games like Usagi Shiima, even though it featured no quests and less "gameplay" to it. The thing is, it's easy to see how it could have been better. More unique frogs, eliminating the tedious minigames, and making specific pieces of furniture feel more important could have all fixed it. As is, it feels like a boring job instead of a relaxing game about cute frogs.
Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge will come to the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, and PC on June 8, 2024.

Bandai Namco will launch a new location test version for The Idolmaster Tours, and it will add the male idols from The Idolmaster SideM to the arcade game's roster. People in Japan will be able to check the new demo build starting from late June 2024.
The first public demo version for The Idolmaster Tours published in 2023 did not feature the SideM idols in-game. However, Bandai Namco did distribute a card featuring Dramatic Stars that will be usable in the full game at the 2023 Amusement Expo. In the upcoming build, all three members of the group—Teru Tendo, Kaoru Sakuraba, and Tsubasa Kashiwagi—will be available for players to pick for their three-person units.
Including the SideM idols will, however, come with the caveat of a limited song lineup availability. In this location test version, only "Nando demo Waraou" will be available. The other two songs in the rhythm game's demo build—"The Idolm@ster" and "Onegai Cinderella"—will only be selectable if the player forms an all-female unit.
The new location test version will appear first at Namco Ikebukuro on June 26-30, 2024. The Round1 arcade center located near the Yokohama Station's West Exit will also host a demo session from June 28, 2024, to July 1, 2024. Bandai Namco will also bring the test to more arcade centers across Japan, but it will reveal the additional venues in due time.
The second location test version of The Idolmaster Tours will be available for a limited time from June 26, 2024. Bandai Namco will later release the full version in arcade centers across Japan.

In a Hyakumantenbara Salome stream of Platform 8, the Nijisanji Vtuber stumbled across a bug that the creator of the game didn't notice. The game has now been updated to fix the error.
The bug in question appears near the end of Salome's playthrough of Platform 8. Even though there weren't any anomalies, the screen suddenly shook and it counted as a game over. Kotake Create apologized for the bug, as well as stated that Salome's stream helped them figure out what the issue was. Many viewers and commenters who saw Kotake Create's tweet joked that Salome is a debugger and that they aren't surprised she was so lucky to stumble upon a real anomaly.

Hyakumantenbara Salome is a VTuber with Nijisanji. She debuted alone in 2022 and got over a million subscribers within two weeks. This made her the fastest VTuber from Nijisanji to reach a million subscribers. She's popular for her ojou-sama bit and tends to pepper her speech with stereotypical "ojou-sama" speech patterns such as ending her sentences with "desu wa."
Platform 8 is the sequel of The Exit 8 in which players must navigate a train and search for anomalies. The goal is to get to the titular Platform 8. As the anomalies range from the mundane to the horrifying, the game technically counts as a sort of psychological horror. In Salome's stream, we can see some of these anomalies, such as one where she has to play red light green light against a girl.
Platform 8 is readily available on the Windows PC.

NIS America offered an update on the RPG Maker WITH console game, noting the Switch version will show up on October 11, 2024 ahead of the PS4 and PS5 ones. The creation tool won't show up on Sony's consoles until 2025.
As a reminder, this installment again remains a means of creating games and playing others' original titles. It supports English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish, so people from every region can develop their own titles with the included assets. The "with" part of the name highlights how elements can be shared online. The idea is that someone wouldn't be the only person developing a game. The online option would allow others to also contribute.
The latest RPG Maker WITH Switch, PS4, and PS5 trailer highlights some of that. It begins by showing how the online compatibility would allow different people to work on different tasks for a title. As it hits the one minute mark, map creation and a boss fight come up.
NIS America has been handling console and handheld entries in the series outside of Japan for a while now. It was behind the FES and MV 3DS, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One versions, for example.
RPG Maker WITH will come to the Nintendo Switch outside Japan on October 11, 2024, followed by a PS4 and PS5 release in 2025.

Calliope Mori and Ado will perform at the special concert for One Piece Day. The concert will take place over August 10-11, 2024.
On August 10, 2024 , Calliope Mori and GRe4N BOYZ will perform. Then on August 11, 2024, Ado and BE:FIRST will. The lottery for the first batch of pre-sale tickets will be available until June 24, 2024. However, you'll need an address in Japan in order to enter the lottery. So even if you plan to go to Japan to watch it or you happen to be traveling to Japan during those dates, you'll have to wait until normal ticket sales open.
Exclusive merchandise will be available at the venue if you present your ticket. There's an Egghead Luffy version of the ONEPI NO MI figures, a tote bag, a clear file folder, and a T-shirt. Those in the Superior Seats will also get a replica ticket holder that shows Luffy in his special outfit for the concert. There will be more bonuses and benefits as well.
Mori Calliope recently announced another hiatus following her return from a break. She had taken one before due to her knee surgery and she noted that she's still in pain due to complications from the surgery. Since the concert is two months away, it's hopeful that she will make a full recovery by then.
The One Piece Day special concert will take place on August 10 and 11, 2024.

Megahouse shared a webpage for the new figure of Mobile Suit Gundam's Char Aznable that has him riding a horse. It will formally release the GGG-DX Char Aznable ~Encounter~ figure in November 2024 with an MSRP of 36,300 yen (~$233). The company will also open pre-orders for the figure on the Japanese Premium Bandai web store on June 6, 2024.
The company has yet to provide the exact measurements for this scaled figure. However, it noted that this figure will have the largest size when compared to prior GGG entries, such as Mobile Fighter G Gundam's Tohofuhai Master Asia. The figure will take inspiration from a scene in the inaugural 1979 anime, where Char Aznable actually rode a horse in his signature outfit.

A lot of Gundam-based merchandise in Japan has been modeled after Char Aznable as one of the franchise's most-defining characters. In mid-May 2024, Owndays released glasses themed after the Principality of Zeon, the faction Char was affiliated with. The company also revealed a unique glasses case shaped after a scaled head of Char Aznable's customized Zaku IIS mobile suit.
Megahouse will open pre-orders for the GGG-DX Encounter figure of Char Aznable from Mobile Suit Gundam on June 6, 2024. The finished figures will appear in late November 2024.

Square Enix teased the upcoming FFXIV Echoes of Vana'diel Alliance Raid by sharing a new piece of key artwork for the expansion. The new Alliance Raid is planned to be a crossover with Final Fantasy XI, the first MMORPG from the franchise.
The new key art depicts the Dynamis Lord, the main villain from FFXI, as the revived form of the Shadow Lord. The character is standing with a sword in his right hand, resting on his shoulder, and his left hand raised while glowing purple and white. The background of the art is black and red, with fiery glyphs in the sky.

The Japanese caption of the post reads "Someone is waiting. The connection with the alternate world of Vana'diel invites you to a new adventure."
In other FFXIV Dawntrail news, the latest Letter from the Producer Live LXXXI appeared on May 16, 2024 and the developers detailed many changes to all the playable jobs, as well as detailing the new Viper and Pictomancer jobs.
Final Fantasy XIV is readily available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. The Dawntrail expansion will make its debut on July 2, 2024, with the Echoes of Vana'diel Alliance Raid appearing sometime after the release of Patch 7.0.

Due to production issues, Bandai Namco will ship the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Collector's Edition art book separately. Those will start coming out from July 15, 2024. [Thanks, Wario64!]
In a shared email from Bandai Namco to a customer, the company apologized for the production issues and inconvenience. Customers will not need to pay an additional fee to get the art book, even though it will be a separate shipment. Also, so that people can start looking through the content, Bandai Namco will add a digital version of the art book to the digital Original Soundtrack package.
July 15, 2024 will be a little over three weeks after the launch date for Elden Ring: Shadows of the Erdtree. The expansion pack will come out on June 21, 2024. This is the largest expansion pack from FromSoftware to date, and focuses on the hidden mysteries in the Elden Ring world. Elden Ring was the Game of the Year at The Game Awards in 2022 and sold over 20 million units across all platforms in February 2023. The release of the expansion pack will surely boost its already high popularity.
Elden Ring is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Windows PC. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will come out on June 21, 2024.

A Taiwanese otaku who helped to stop a knife attack on the Taichung metro has said that he did so because Himmel from Frieren: Beyond Journey's End would've done the same thing. He is hoping that his heroic act will help to improve the public's perception of otaku in Taiwan. [Thanks, China Times!]
On May 21, 2024, a Taiwanese man stabbed several passengers in a knife attack on a Taichung train. He managed to injure three people before over seventeen civilians stopped him. One of them was Ruixian Xu, or "Long Hair Bro." He even went out of his way to wear a Monster Hunter shirt to accept his reward. Xu refers to himself as an otaku and states that otaku aren't all bad. He hopes that his act will help convince people of that fact.
Xu also states that "If Himmel was there, he would've done the same thing," referencing the character from Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. He uses this quote as a reminder to do the right thing and a life philosophy. When asked what he would do differently if he could go back in time to the attack, he said he wouldn't change a thing.
The reference to Taiwanese perception of otaku stems from the 2014 Taipei Metro Attack. This was a stabbing spree that ended in four deaths and twenty-four injuries. As it was the first fatal attack on the subway since it began in 1996, it was a deeply shocking incident for the island. The media and the perpetrator's parents were quick to blame violent video games for his motivation. Cheng Chieh, the attacker, stated that he liked to play League of Legends and Tower of Saviors. However, the companies for both stated that their games had nothing to do with the attacks.

Square Enix announced that it released the Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail theme song single vinyl. The record is available for purchase in not only physical, but also digital formats.
The single features two versions of the song performed by Amanda Achen and the Primals band. "Dawntrail" is the full-length version heard in the music video published in early April 2024. Meanwhile, "Open Sky - The Theme from Dawntrail" is the track that has been edited to act as the expansion's main theme song.
Square Enix's North American and European web stores have also been accepting pre-orders for the physical vinyl. People residing in each region can pay $24.99 / €24.99 to have the vinyls imported from Japan.
Every purchase of the vinyl package will come with a serial code that lets the owner download digital MP3 files of both tracks. However, Square Enix is also offering direct digital purchases for people who prefer the format.
Even though the English webpage also contains an aggregate link for digital version purchases, most of the links provided pertain to Japanese websites like Recochoku and Dwango. Only the iTunes Store link will direct the visitors to their own regions and currencies to access the tracks.
The Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail theme song single is now available in both physical vinyl and digital formats. The actual expansion for the online game will appear on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on July 2, 2024. Players who have pre-ordered the expansion will be allowed early access on June 28, 2024.

Bungie announced on social media that it began mitigating and addressing Destiny 2 The Final Shape connection issues and errors and apologized for the situation. In particular, the Bungie Help account noted that Currant error codes shouldn't be as common.
The initial announcements and apologies regarding the Destiny 2 The Final Shape connection issues and errors was 10 tweets long. It began by apologizing for the connection problems and noting the team was working on alleviating them. For example, load balancer machines, activity host, and server configurations adjustments implemented were mentioned as some of the ways the developer said it addressed problems. It also offered a temporary workaround for the missing cutscene problem by suggesting players head to Replayable Missions to potentially catch ones from the expansions first, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh missions. Finally, it closed things out with another apology.
As for Bungie Help, there's only been one update in the last few hours. It noted the Currant error codes in Destiny 2 had been addressed. However, it also noted Cabbage and Weasel ones could still appear.
The main account for the team also credited server restarts with assisting in solving issues in Destiny 2 The Final Shape.
Destiny 2 and The Final Shape expansion are available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

HoYoVerse has revealed Yunli, who'll be a new playable character in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.4. She'll be a 5-star Physical Destruction character.
Yunli is a sword hunter from the Xianzhou Zhuming, as well as the granddaughter of General Huaiyan. She has a frank and straightforward personality, and is capable of both forging and swordsmanship. Like Yanqing, she is a prodigal swordmaster. However, her allegiance is to the Flamewheel Octet. Her goal is to wipe out all of the cursed swords that came from the Zhuming and she has a burning hatred of them. She's similar to Firefly, who'll debut as a playable unit in 2.3, in that they share the same Type and Path, as well as have green in their outfits and fire in their aesthetics.
Her English voice actress will be Brenna Larsen. Larsen's previous roles include Share Bear in Care Bears: Unlock the Magic and Navia in Genshin Impact. In Chinese, Liu Wen will play Yunli. Liu voiced Pearl and Trucy in Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy and characters like Croissant in Arknights. Finally, Shion Wakayama will voice Yunli in Japanese. Wakayama's past roles include Takina in Lycoris Recoil and Lila in Ys X: Nordics.
Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Yunli will appear as a playable character in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.4.

Sony in Japan will sell a Genshin Impact PS5 bundle on July 17, 2024. It'll cost 66,980 JPY ($430.10).
The PS5 bundle will come with a code for the Genshin Impact gift pack. Unlike most console bundles, which include a game that is not free, Genshin Impact is a game that anyone can download without a fee. This is likely why Sony and HoYoVerse included some bonuses with this pack. The bonuses for the Genshin Impact pack are:
his bundle was originally exclusive to China. The main draw of this bundle comes from the special namecard and the skin selector. It doesn't offer that many Hero's Wit books or much Mora, though the Primogems are welcome. The code that comes with the game is for those on the Japanese server and it's unknown if you'll be able to use if it you have an account elsewhere. Players who get this bundle will have until June 30, 2026 to redeem the code.
As of the time of writing, there are around eleven skins that players can purchase from the store. These are also the ones available via the skin selector. You'll be able to get outfits for characters like Ganyu, Ayaka, Lisa, and Klee.
