PCGamesN Monday, September 23, 2024 4:45 PM For as many asymmetrical multiplayer games as we currently have, fresh takes on the genre are always welcome. The newly announced Marines vs God definitely fits into that novel category, the game pulling from a range of influences as diverse as co-op shooters like Helldivers 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and GTFO and entries to the 'god game' strategy genre, such as Black and White, Reus, and Dungeon Keeper. It also combines all of these inspirations into a style uniquely its own, presenting itself through a lo-fi visual style and a wry sense of humor. PCGamesN Monday, September 23, 2024 12:20 PM Witchfire fills a very specific niche in videogames: the spooky shooter. Games like Blood, Resident Evil 4, Trepang2, and Painkiller, for instance, all belong to the horror genre, but they're also less concerned with being outright scary than they are with conveying a more fun-loving, Halloween-style mood. They are, in short, more spooky than truly horrifying. Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf has been renewed for season 2. The key visual for the announcement shows Holo pulling on Lawrence's hand while the text at the side reads that their journey will continue.
There is virtually no information on Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf season 2, as production likely just started. However, this means that the new Spice and Wolf will finally adapt content that's new for anime-only fans. The first season already did so. After following along with the original 2008 anime for most of its run, it deviated to adapt Volume 4 of the original light novels. The 2008 version skipped that one. If Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf continues to follow along the light novels, then it'll be a definitive anime adaptation of the original series.
Back when Spice and Wolf first aired, fillers in anime were a lot more common than today. Fillers were necessary not only to pad out time for the mangaka to create more content to adapt, but also to end shows when the manga was still going. Soul Eater and Fullmetal Alchemist come to mind. Anime adaptations could also be much more derivative, like with the first Hunter x Hunter and Shaman King shows, compared to today. The 2008 version of Spice and Wolf was in a similar boat. Which type of adaptation people prefer is completely up to personal taste.
Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf season 2 is in production. You can catch the first season on Crunchyroll.

The English version of the Bandai Namco website has posted the changes that'll be in Tales of Graces f Remastered, including that Alexis Tipton will replace Laura Bailey as Cheria for the new skits. The rest of the cast will remain the same.
Tipton will not be voicing any scenes from the game itself, as it will reuse audio and voice clips from the original release. However, the remastered version will be voicing clips that were originally DLC. These never came out in English, so for the remastered version's release, Bandai Namco asked the English cast to return and voice them. As for why Laura Bailey did not, it likely has to do with the ongoing voice actor strikes.
Alexis Tipton is a voice actress and ADR director whose career started in 2008. Her anime roles include Kofuku in Noragami, Kaguya in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, and Mei in My Hero Academia. On the video game side, Tipton appeared as Qingque in Honkai: Star Rail, Lucina in Fire Emblem Heroes and Engage, and Pascal in NieR: Automata. Coincidentally (or maybe not), Tipton also shares the role of Lucina with Laura Bailey, who voiced the character in Awakening and the Super Smash Bros. series.
Tales of Graces f originally came out for the PS3 in 2010, about a year after Tales of Graces initially debuted on the Nintendo Wii. It takes place in the fantasy world of Ephinea and follows Asbel Lhant, who became a knight to protect others following a traumatic incident in his youth. Bandai Namco announced that the remastered version will come out in January 2025 and will be the first of the Remastered Project for the 30th anniversary.
Tales of Graces f Remastered will come out on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC on January 17, 2025.

The merchandise for the hololive and Monster Hunter collaboration will appear in Capcom crane games for a limited time. They'll be available from September 27, 2024.
The first part of the collaboration will feature hololive members from the third generation. We see Pekora, Flare, Noel, and Marine dressed up in outfits that match their pets, looking like they're about to journey into the wild. All of the merchandise show the girls as they appear in the promotional image. As for the products, you can get cushions, towels, flat pouches, acrylic boards, acrylic stands, and random can badges.
As a reminder, these items are prizes in the crane games. That's why none of them have a price tag. It appears that you can play depending on which liver is your favorite. This way, you don't risk getting an item for someone other than your oshi. If you use at least 500 JPY on the crane games, you can get a free clear file. Since the generation three hololive members are only the first part of the Monster Hunter collaboration, we can expect another generation to appear on merchandise some time in the near future.

ConcernedApe has announced the release date for Stardew Valley 1.6 on consoles and mobile devices. Players on those platforms will finally be able to download it on November 4, 2024.
Version 1.6 of Stardew Valley appeared on Windows PCs in March 2024. However, those playing Stardew Valley on devices like their phones, the Switch, or the PS4 were unable to partake in the new updates. In July 2024, ConcernedApe gave an update, stating that he's been personally working on the mobile version every day. He gave yet another progress report in August 2024, which included some more information on Haunted Chocolatier. Namely that he hasn't worked on it in a while because he was devoting so much time to Stardew Valley Version 1.6.
Players on platforms like the Switch will be able to use their old saves even in the new version of the game. Some added activities include festivals. There will also be new cosmetics, dialogue options for NPCs, systems, and farm types. On top of that, there were quality-of-life updates to the game and balance changes.
Stardew Valley is readily available on the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC. Version 1.6 for platforms other than PC will come out on November 4, 2024 as a free update.

Square Enix recently revealed more details on Aerith's Final Fantasy VII Rebirth swimsuit, called the Floral Soleil. This bright, floral-themed resort wear was showcased on the official FFVII Rebirth social media account, highlighting its vibrant design meant to evoke the flowers blooming in the sun
View official social media post below:
The reveal included a comment from Red XIII, who humorously described Aerith's swimsuit as "spinning around like a conch." The Floral Soleil is part of the variety of alternate costumes available in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, expanding on the game's focus on character customization and new aesthetic options for the main cast of characters.
In related news, it was previously revealed that Aerith was the first character created for the original Final Fantasy VII. Initially, her traits were similar to Tifa's, but the development team decided to distinguish them as two separate characters. Aerith's new design emphasized a pastel color palette, with her pink dress and cropped jacket, and tied-up hair which resulted in her iconic ponytail. This was done in contract to Tifa, who also has a ponytail but is loosely tied at the ends, giving her a more distinct silhouette.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is immediately available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available on PlayStation 5.

Back in 2023, KEMCO handled console versions of Thousand Games' RPG Metro Quester, and it was pretty great! It was an unorthodox, post-apocalyptic game that really felt unique due to its approach. Metro Quester: Osaka, its sequel, isn't really all that different, but it doesn't have to be. It's more of a good thing! This time, I'd even say it feels more welcoming to those who might be unsure how to approach it.
The world ended. Some remain, fighting against the monster, charting what's left of the world, and searching for resources. In Metro Quester: Osaka, players find themselves in a new region of the decimated Japan. After selecting an initial squad of teammates, your warrior set out to scavenge and survive, perhaps also learning more about the region and finding more survivors as they do.
Did you like Metro Quester? I hope you did, because Metro Quester: Osaka is basically that same experience and elements! It's just taking place in a new region of Japan. There are bodies of water you need to cross! Instead of 24 characters, you have 32! There are more monsters! More dungeon! Also, something I honestly appreciated, which is more tutorial and text.
The original Metro Quester, as great as it is, ended up being an RPG with little text and background to it. Much of it is about the experience. You explore the region, uncover secrets, find resources, fight monsters, and survive. Metro Quester: Osaka has a little more story to it. The introduction is a bit meatier and does a better job of explaining gameplay elements. Plenty is still left to your imagination. Just it feels like there's a little extra to it, which is appreciated.
But for the most part, the gameplay is untouched. Which is fantastic, since it is so unusual and entertaining. You wander through the world, digging through more prone pieces of ground and testing walls to see if they're solid, to chart what the new world looks like. As you do, you may find reliable search spots to potentially find food or resources. Maybe you'll even be lucky enough to find new equipment, an extra ally, or another campsite. While your overall goal is to explore it all, your weekly one is to find 100 food so you can actually keep playing and stay alive. (Though if you want to move campsites, you need an additional 30 food to cover that move.) Since the areas are corrupted and polluted, you can only perform so many actions per each excursion and day. This prevents you from clearing all of the region in a run. Well that, and the monsters and monster nests can also appear both on land and, when you head in a canoe, in the waters around you.
Said fights don't proceed like a typical turn-based KEMCO RPG, though there are those sorts of elements in Metro Quester: Osaka. You set your party of five's actions before starting the battle. You need to take into account resources and the amount of actions each one can perform. Then, you opt to start a battle and it plays out automatically in front of you. Everything you dictated people do? They do it! Just monsters also act between them, there are no stop gaps, and you have to hope your selections are sound and resources don't run out. I did notice that between the initial entry and this one, both some ordinary enemies and bosses in the last third of the game might feel a little unreasonable due to the scale of attacks they'll use. The equipment options you can acquire feel pretty strong and starting with the default "balanced" party does put you in a pretty strong starting position, from what I found.
While getting to go through a new area with new class updates and additions with more equipment and enemies are all great things, there is one element that got to me once I was more established in the adventure. Metro Quester: Osaka improves on the original KEMCO and Thousand Games RPG in many ways, but I felt like the setting maybe wasn't one of them. It's interesting to make watery sections such a priority and so prolific! However, I think perhaps it's more interesting in concept than execution. When I was faced with so much water, I didn't find it as thrilling as my adventures on land. It just doesn't end up being as interesting mechanically or visually.
Still, Metro Quester: Osaka is an absolutely great game and follow-up to the original KEMCO and Thousand Games RPG. It maintains the same feeling of desperation as you strive to find resources. There's the same thrill as you uncover new paths or helpful items. The battle system still feels really different and efficient. I highly recommend it and, if someone hasn't played the original, might even say to play this entry if you only can pick up one of them.
Metro Quester: Osaka is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
