Kotaku Wednesday, November 6, 2024 5:05 PM We might never get a proper Bloodborne remake, or even a current-gen remaster, but that hasn't stopped fans from continuing to experiment with their own spin-offs of FromSoftware's dark fantasy action game. Kotaku Wednesday, November 6, 2024 4:40 PM Dragon Age: The Veilguard has an excellent cast of characters, almost all of which are new to the series. Kotaku Wednesday, November 6, 2024 4:30 PM When Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater launched back in 2004, fans quickly realized that Eva's voice actress in the credits—Suzetta Minet—was a fake name. Kotaku Wednesday, November 6, 2024 3:25 PM In September, Sony announced the PlayStation 5 Pro and its $700 price tag. Immediately the reaction from folks online was negative. PCGamesN Wednesday, November 6, 2024 6:57 PM 17 years is a long time for any game to still be pumping out content, yet Lord of the Rings Online is managing it. Launched during the MMO explosion days following the release of World of Warcraft along with other titles like Age of Conan, Dungeons and Dragons Online, and Aion, LOTRO appears to still be fighting fit with tons of content drops over the years. Now its 12th expansion is here, titled Legacy of Morgoth, and it adds a load of new stuff along with continuing the game's ever evolving storyline. PCGamesN Wednesday, November 6, 2024 6:44 PM From building giant roller coasters to making sure that trash can is placed just so, the levels of detail and creative freedom in theme park management games is addictively high. The childlike fun of seeing thousands of guests screaming on a loop-the-loop (and the horror of seeing them leave in a rage after you forgot to build them more toilet blocks…) is unmatched. Planet Coaster 2 looks to enhance the excellent action from the original and go one better with the addition of water parks, and it enjoyed high review scores from the press prior to launch. However, with Steam users, it's much less cut and dry. PCGamesN Wednesday, November 6, 2024 6:11 PM If there's one announcement that would cause the most hysteria within the gaming community, it'd be a delay to GTA 6. Fans have been waiting well over a decade for this behemoth of a sequel, and it would be a huge blow if they had to wait any longer than they've already endured. As a result, Take-Two's quarterly earnings reports have become nail-biting moments - no one wants to see its current launch window shift as it updates shareholders on its future pipeline. Thankfully, another report has been and gone without any bad news about the new Grand Theft Auto - it's still on track. PCGamesN Wednesday, November 6, 2024 5:30 PM I don't know about you but I've never associated the Metal Slug series with strategy. The legendary run and gun games have always had more in common with Contra, Shootas, Blood & Teef, and Broforce rather than slower, more cerebral offerings like Final Fantasy Tactics, Triangle Strategy, or Fire Emblem. That's all changed now, as Metal Slug Tactics is here to serve up a side order of strategy along with the series' trademark explosive action. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, November 6, 2024 4:06 PM Foxhole is one of my favourite games to read about, even if I don't play it. It's a massively multiplayer World War 2 game, viewed from above, where battlefield logistics matters as much as aiming and flanking. Its developers have just announced a major new update coming next summer, Foxhole: Airborne, which adds planes to the game for the first time. Planes, in a topdown MMO? It makes a little more sense if you watch the trailer. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, November 6, 2024 3:50 PM We'll have a review of Planet Coaster 2 soon, but I keep making Brendy do other tasks so he's not had enough time yet to ride the rails. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Wednesday, November 6, 2024 3:34 PM I would never have predicted there'd be an isometric tactics game based on run-and-gun series Metal Slug, yet here Metal Slug Tactics is, and I am here for it. The Naruto & Boruto Shinobi Village attraction at anime theme park Nijigen no Mori will start issuing "money" after you complete certain missions. You can then use this fake money in exchange for original bromides.
The Naruto & Boruto Shinobi Village will start giving out fake money from November 9, 2024. Every time you complete a daily mission, you'll be able to receive 100 ryo. As a note, the special missions all have their own fee, so you'll need to pay to participate. For every 100 ryo, you can receive a random bromide. Then, for 300, you can receive three random cards. These random cards will always have an Akatsuki character, a Boruto characters, and an original Suiton Festival design. Finally, for 500 ryo, you can choose your own bromide.
Nijigen no Mori is a theme park in the Hyogo Prefecture that focuses on animation and pop culture. Aside from the Shinobi Village, or Shinobizato, there are attractions for series like Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, and Godzilla. Activities to do in the Shinobi Village area include making your own incense, learning how to use Hand Seals, and watching light shows on the Hokage Rock.
The Shinobi Village "money" will go into circulation from November 9, 2024. As a reminder, this money is fake and you cannot use it outside of the theme park.

With the release of the PS5 Pro, more than 50 games will have enhanced features, improving fidelity and frame rate. If you're looking to buy a Pro, you'll want to find games that make full use of the new technology. However, not every developer has released a full breakdown of what enhancements the new console will bring, but here are a handful of some of the most notable.
Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake 2 is a game that features a ton of visual tricks that enhance its spooky and surreal narrative. Remedy's in-house engine, Northlight, is built heavily around blending live action footage with gameplay. On top of that, the visuals of their games feature a lot of wispy particle effects and torchlight effects.
This is all enhanced on PS5 Pro, with ray tracing enhancing the lighting and particle effects. In addition, the game's existing Performance Mode will be gaining a 4K resolution option.
Stellar Blade
Stellar Blade was praised earlier this year for its visuals. It's also one of few games that are purely exclusive to the PS5, so it's not surprising that it's getting enhancement to its visuals to show off the PS5 Pro.
One of the big enhancements for Stellar Blade is an increase in frame rate while running the game in 4K. Shift Up is aiming for 50fps "or more" which suggests there is now an uncapped framerate, but it will run consistently in 50fps most of the time. The high framerate option will run at a lower resolution, or will see improvements via upscaling, but will now run at 80fps on devices that support it.
The Last of Us Parts 1 & 2
The Last of Us has always been a visual powerhouse for Sony, with each iteration and remaster pushing visual tech even further. So of course, both The Last of Us Part I and The Last of Us Part II Remastered will see some significant enhancements.
The new PS5 Pro exclusive "enhanced rendering" mode will run in a native 1440p output, but can be upscaled to 4K, while running at 60fps. The original Performance and Fidelity modes will still be available, and these will see minor improvements.
Gran Turismo 7
Racing games are always used to demonstrate advancements in new gaming tech, and Gran Turismo has always been at the forefront of this since the original PlayStation. Naturally, it has some of the more extensive enhanced features for the PS5 Pro.
Much like other games enhanced on the Pro, it will run in a native 4K. It will also make heavy use of ray tracing, where reflections in bodywork will be much more detailed. This includes reflections of other cars as well as your car's own parts. It will also feature an 8K/60fps mode, although Polyphony Digital has admitted it's experimental.
Horizon Forbidden West
While the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster was released in time for the PS5 Pro release and therefore features plenty of baked-in enhancements, Horizon Forbidden West will be getting many of these in an update too.
The first thing to note is that the Quality Mode will run in 60fps, giving it parity with the Performance Mode, only now at a higher resolution than before. On top of this, Guerrilla has worked to improve many of the games rendering tools, meaning skin and hair shaders, clouds, shadows, and countless other effects are more impressive.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an obvious choice as it has been shown off extensively in presentations for the system. It's also another PS5 exclusive that's best positioned to show off the tech, and also one of the best games of the year.
The main enhanced element for PS5 Pro is significantly improved textures, removing some of the blurriness seen in higher resolutions in the base game. In addition, a new Versatility Mode will combine the previous display options into one, allowing for 4K resolution and 60fps at the same time.
The PS5 Pro will release on November 7, 2024.

Five hololive VTubers appeared in bit parts in the Japanese dub version of Venom: The Last Dance. This is part of a promotional collaboration between Cover and Sony.
When or if you watch the Japanese dub of Venom: The Last Dance, you might be able to hear the voices of hololive VTubers Shirakami Fubuki, Houshou Marine, La+ Darkness, Akai Haato, and Takane Lui. These five are huge fans of the series and have been promoting the movie for the Japanese audience. While they do appear in the film, they only have bit parts and are extras rather than any of the more prominent characters, who have professional voice actors dubbing them.
Other Venom promotional campaigns from hololive include pictures of the symbiote attaching onto them, a cooking video from Haato, and streams of them watching the films. For the streams, you won't be able to watch the movie in the stream itself. Like other streams of this genre, you have to watch it on your own device, with the VTubers providing commentary and reactions so it feels like you're watching it with them.
Venom: The Last Dance is the final installment of Sony's Venom film franchise. Like the other ones, it stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and Venom. It received middling reviews from critics, but the fans enjoyed it, if Rotten Tomatoes is anything to go by.
You can watch Venom: The Last Dance in theaters.

It seems we could see more Hololive DEV_IS Vtubers, as Cover shared a teaser trailer on social media saying news about FlowGlow will be "coming soon" on November 7, 2024 in Japan. The end of the video shows the arm of a person spray painting the message, and the performer is wearing a jacket that doesn't match ones worn by any ReGLOSS members.
The Hololive Vtuber DEV_IS teaser video doesn't mention FlowGloss in the animated clip itself. It seems that could be the new generation's name. Rather, it begins ahead of a performance by ReGLOSS. One by one, we see Ichijou Ririka, Hiodoshi Ao, Juufuutei Raden, Todoroki Hajime, and Otonose Kanade. When they take the stage, the group starts singing their original song "Feeling Gradation." (They released that song in September 2024.)
It's at that point that it seems FlowGlow is teased. The performance is being watched on a screen. A white jeep pulls up, and a person wearing a brown jacket comes out. That peformer spray paints over the Hololive DEV_IS logo and writes, "Coming soon."
ReGLOSS debuted back in September 2023. Its members tend to work together on streaming, though they also take part in collabs with other Cover Vtubers. They also have released a number of singles and albums, with the group's first self-titled one debuting in December 2024. It included eight tracks.
We'll know what FlowGlow is and how it relates to to the Hololive DEV_IS Vtubers division on November 7, 2024.
