Siliconera Saturday, March 29, 2025 12:00 PM
I have a bit of a bad track record with Studio Élan's visual novels: both Heart of the Woods and Highway Blossoms have sat unplayed in my Steam library for years now. That kind of sweet but subdued Yuri VN should be something I absolutely adore, but somehow I've bounced off each of the ones I've tried. That is until Please Be Happy, which I'm pleased to report finally managed to sink the studio's hooks into me. And it really is peak Élan, with a slow, cozy pace and a contemplative mood, with more than a few literary references sprinkled in. If you're looking for something more epic, intense, or even comedic then this might not be the game for you, but if you want something sedate and thoughtful then Please Be Happy is absolutely worth a look.
The story follows Miho, an itinerant gumiho or fox spirit from Korea, as she travels in search of an unknown figure from her earliest memory. Arriving in Wellington, New Zealand, her initial plan to live in a literal hole in the ground and survive on purloined snacks is derailed when she is effectively taken in by Juliet, an aloof and graceful vampire, and Aspen, a local barista and aspiring writer. What follows is the mostly laid back, slice-of-life story of Miho integrating into a society she had previously only moved in the peripheries of, with a few complications both romantic and supernatural.
![]()
Please Be Happy originally came out back in 2021 for PC, but only made it to consoles this February, 2025. Gameplay wise it's mostly linear with a few low stakes choices along the way, later splitting into a route for each of the 2 love interests with 2 endings each. You'll also regularly get the chance to pick from a few locations to hang out in, mostly to give you a choice of which side stories and characters you want to engage with but you can also pick empty locations for a short little vignette of Miho on her own, which is nice. The accompanying art is also lovely with a nice subdued palette with lots of warm browns that fits the overall tone excellently. A few of the side characters have sprites that can look a little rough, but the main cast and backgrounds are great and I especially love Miho and Juliet's outfit designs.
Miho herself is a fairly blank character, but at least part of that's by design. She's lived hand-to-mouth her whole life, surviving on instinct and her innate magic powers. So much so, that she struggles to figure out what to do with her time now that she doesn't have to spend it constantly on the hunt for food and shelter. As she adjusts to her new circumstances she shows herself to be curious and surprisingly empathetic, especially given her lack of significant social interaction, as she warms up to the new people in her life quickly. Perhaps too quickly, even, as I was kind of left wishing Please Be Happy had a little more friction and conflict as Miho struggles to unlearn the fight-or-flight instinct that has kept her safe so far. She thinks about it a fair amount, but beyond the first night or so it doesn't end up affecting things too much. She's cute and eminently likable of course, I just feel there was potential for some more characterful hijinks in there to contrast with the slow, slice-of-life moments that make up most of the game.
![]()
Meanwhile Aspen, the first of the two love interests, grew on me immensely during the story. She could have so easily have been shy and forgettable, but that's not her at all. She's kind and caring, yes, but also a bit patronizing and self-absorbed, which only makes her more believable as a character. And her dialogue is really elevated by Anna Chloe Moorey's voice performance, which gets across a lot of subtlety through her intonation and inflection.
In fact a lot of the voice work in Please Be Happy is pretty stellar. There's even a few talents who would go on to work on much bigger projects, like Shara Kirby (who is 'Cinder' Carla in Armored Core 6, another game with fantastic voice work) and Molly Zhang (who's been in a few HoYoVerse games). My one gripe is that sometimes the recordings themselves could sound muddy, though I don't know enough about sound work to suggest whether it's a recording or mixing issue.
![]()
Lastly there's Juliet, who takes a while to come into her own as a character because she tends to be more reserved and mysterious. Her design felt absolutely laser-targeted to my tastes, but I imagine someone less into gorgeous women in princely outfits might not be as immediately interested because she can feel a bit absent or without motivation until a good chunk of the way into Please Be Happy. It feels a bit contrived, for example, that she would offer someone she barely knows free room and board especially considering how she and Miho meet, but once you start getting her backstory it does end up making sense.
She was originally going to be the first love interest I pursued before I was swayed by Aspen, and I do think her story ends up working a bit better as the second route to play. That said, I couldn't help but wish for a route where Juliet and Aspen get together, with Miho as more of a daughter figure. As much as I liked each of the characters, the chemistry between Miho and the other two never quite struck me as romantic and some of the lovey-dovey parts could sometimes feel a bit unearned.
It's still sweet though, and watching Miho and the girls bond momentarily sated my endless thirst for Yuri, but I do appreciate that Please Be Happy is more than just a vehicle for the warm fuzzies. There's some good thematic meat to it, and even though it could sometimes be a little on the nose there was enough compelling stuff in there that my thoughts would linger long after I finished a play session. A big theme for Miho is finding out who or what she is, and who she wants to become after learning that, which I think should resonate with anyone who has ties to a diaspora, while Juliet's story often taps into the rich vein of pathos that is relationships between mortals and immortals. I'd have liked a few more moments of conflict and tension, but what is present there really added flavor to the slower, slice-of-life parts.
![]()
While there are brief moments of intense emotion, Please Be Happy is mostly a very gentle story that might not satisfy those looking for an excessively cute or romantic tale, because that's not what it is. It's a story about slowing down and appreciating what you have, looking at yourself and deciding what it is you actually want to do and be. If you can match its pace, you'll find a satisfying story in a pretty well made package. The pretty anime girls falling in love is just a bonus.
Please Be Happy is immediately available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

We've come to expect iam8bit Persona soundtracks. The company's worked with Atlus on both mainline and spin-offs. It arrived a year after launch, but now the Persona 3 Reload 4xLP vinyl release that consists of four records packed with songs from the soundtrack is out. Just like past releases, it does a great job of offering another way to listen to the music while also making the records look colorful and packaging match the UI and design direction for this entry.
To start, there are 60 songs on the iam8bit Persona 3 Reload 4xLP vinyl version of the soundtrack. The digital copies of the soundtrack feature two fewer tracks. The only ones missing are "Burn My Dread -Reload-" and "Deep Breath Deep Breath -Reincarnation Reload-." I was incredibly psyched about that, as this isn't a release with songs left out. Atlus and iam8bit brought the full experience for the vinyl release and didn't cherry pick the ones considered more "important." On average, between five and ten songs tend to appear on a side, with about 14 on each album.
![]()
![]()
I listened to each record, and the quality is quite good. Everything is crisp and sounds fantastic. Also, given the nature of them and the genres, I think they're especially well suited to the medium. "Full Moon Full Life," "Want to be Close -Reload-," "Mass Destruction -Reload-," "Color Your Night," and "Aria of the Soul" especially sound so appropriate on vinyl.
However, this really is about style and substance. Anyone who has played Persona 3, Persona 3 FES, Persona 3 Portable, or Persona 3 Reload knows the soundtrack for the game is both extraordinary and memorable. We know the songs are fantastic. But the presentation iam8bit went with also maintains the ambiance expected from this installment. The color scheme from the albums matches the ones used in the game, and imagery such as the Persona mask, Fool tarot card, Dark Hour moon, Tartarus clock, and Gekkoukan High School imagery are great nods to this entry. Likewise, the use of a pop-art approach to character portraits for each album's sleeve works for it.
The only downside is the holographic shape effect is only on one side of each vinyl. This means that you need to really be under good light to see it. It's present and a neat effect when it is visible. And it is especially noticeable on side H, thanks to the contrast between the black record and prismatic shapes. Just know that it isn't the main draw. I felt it was more of a pleasant bonus for side B, D, F, and H.
![]()
![]()
I also honestly appreciate that iam8bit went with Drew Wise for the Makoto box art on the Persona 3 Reload 4xLP vinyl soundtrack set, since it maintains a sense of consistency with past record releases. For reference, Wise also worked on the company's releases of Atlus' Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth 4xLP, Persona 4 4xLP, and Persona 5 Royal 3xLP. It means if you are keeping up and collecting each one, you could display the boxes in a way that maintains the theme. Wise also ended up being tapped for the Persona 3 Reload: Episode Aigis -The Answer- 2xLP, so that will eventually pair well with this too.
The Persona 3 Reload 4xLP vinyl soundtrack release is a much appreciated one, and I really like how the records turned out. They look fun, thanks to the bright colors that stand out while still referencing the game and its UI and themes. The audio quality for the album is good. It's also giving us the full experience. It's another example of a solid continuing collection of providing Persona game soundtracks on another platform.
The iam8bit Persona 3 Reload 4xLP vinyl set is available now. Persona 3 Reload is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Once you start earning plenty of money in Schedule 1, you'll realize that there's a cap on the amount of deposits via ATM. This is where the subtle art of money laundering comes in, and you can take advantage of it to bypass the limits.
While keeping all your money in cash might not have much risk, it handicaps your progress. Whenever you want to purchase a business or property, you'll have to pay Ray from your online balance. This guide will help you with a detailed approach to money laundering and state all the available sources in Schedule 1.
How to launder money in Schedule 1?
Money laundering is a more advanced concept in Schedule 1. If you're a beginner, you won't have to bother about it immediately. Once you start making enough money, the ATM deposit limit hits hard. The trick is to advance a few levels so that you get access to the Downtown area, and have around $5000 online balance.
![]()
Go to Rays Realty (location pinned on the image above), and you'll be able to pick from four places of business. The cheapest one is the Laundromat, which is going to cost you $4000 to own. Visit the Laundromat, and you'll have to launder $2000 per 24 hours. The money gets transferred from your cash balance to your online balance, and yes, it doesn't fall under the weekly limit.
![]()
Once you have made more money, go to Ray and make the remaining three pieces of business yours. The Post Office allows you to launder $4,000, while Car Wash ups the limit to $6,000. Finally, Taco Ticklers allows you to whitewash $8,000 per 24 hours, and it's also the most expensive business to buy.
Once you have all four places of business, your daily task is to launder as much money as possible. That way, your online balance will increase consistently, and you won't have to bother about the ATM's deposit limit ever again.
The process of laundering is simple: own a place of business, and use the computer available there. The remaining steps are self-explanatory, as you have to select the amount, and click on the Launder button.
The enhanced online balance will be crucial if you're looking to own properties like the Barn and the Docks. These premium players are amazing as bases for your operations, but costs a lot of money. The entire amount has to come from your online balance, so make sure to put your businesses running, and convert your cash balance.

In only a few hours, Fisch is about to get one of its biggest updates yet. Not only are the devs adding new content, but if rumors are to be believed, we'll be getting a whole new sea, similar Roblox games like Blox Fruits. If you're as excited about us, you'll want to know ahead of time. Just for you, here's Everything we know about Fisch Second Sea Update.
Fisch Second Sea All Rumors
Down below, we'll list everything we know so far about the update. Please bear in mind, even though these are all the rumors that are circling around the official Fisch Discord server, many of these things are subject to change.
A whole new world
![]()
We've sailed around the world of Fisch numerous times now, and if you're like us, you probably know by heart how to get from Moosewood to the Grand Reef with your eyes closed. Well, all of that is about to change when the Second Sea arrives.
After you talk to a specific NPC, you'll be whisked away to a completely new map filled with new islands, new fish, rods, and lots of other things to uncover. In a sense, you'll take your Fisch character (and your equipment) and bring it to an entirely new game.
Don't worry, you'll still be able to go back to the original map and get anything you may have missed, but if you want to experience the new stuff, you'll need to make the trip. It's still not clear if you'll need to be a certain level or complete a quest in order to travel to the Second Sea.
Level cap raised to 2,500
![]()
We really hope the rumors are wrong about this one, but as they stand now, the level cap will be raised from the current 1,000 to a whopping 2,500. That's a lot of levels. The original level cap was at 500, only to be raised to 1,000, and now we're jumping another 1,500 levels.
If these rumors are true, we think you can definitely expect a rework of how much XP you get per fish caught. It's also almost guaranteed that when the update drops, there will be an XP event so everyone can catch up. We're also looking forward to the new insane rod that can only be obtained if you hit max level. Better get those Clever enchants now.
New currency
Something many of us have been complaining about in the recent Fisch updates is the rod prices. Simply put, the prices of rods are too d**n high! This update aims to fix that by introducing an entirely new currency, which you'll likely only be able to get in the Second Sea. How you'll obtain this currency isn't clear yet but one thing the devs have confirmed is that we won't need to pay $20M for new rods anymore.
LOVEcraft is in the air
![]()
We've seen the rumors, we've played The Hunt event, and everything seems to point that we'll be catching Lovecraftian monsters in the Second Sea, mainly Cthulhu. We'll likely need to do a few quests in order to get to its spawn location, or we'll simply need to wait for its event to occur. It will definitely be a lot easier to only look out for Cthulhu than to wait for the Kraken, Scylla, Megalodons, and all those special Sharks.
That's all the confirmed rumors we know so far. Like we said in the beginning, many (all) of these are subject to change, and we'll just have to wait patiently until the update drops. In the meantime, check out our Fisch codes for some cool freebies.

Customers are the pillars of your empire in Schedule 1, as your success and growth will depend on how many products you get to sell.
As you level up and increase your base of operations, new areas will be unlocked. A new area brings a fresh set of clients, and the customers have different needs and demands. To satisfy their needs, you'll want to pay attention to what your customers want, and some are more important than the rest.
This guide covers all the customers available in all six regions, along with their personal preferences.
All Schedule 1 customers in Northtown
The first region, Northtown has the highest number of customers.
All Schedule 1 customers in Westville
Westville takes about a couple of hours to unlock once you have levelled up slightly.
All Schedule 1 customers in Downtown
Downtown gains you access to more POIs, and you'll be able to buy businesses.
All Schedule 1 customers in Docks
Docks officially opens up the chance to make Cocaine and own the Docks property to establish a new base for your business.
All Schedule 1 customers in Suburbia
Suburbia is slightly located to the outskirts of Hyland Point.
All Schedule 1 customers in Uptown
