Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, April 25, 2025 11:35 AM ![]() The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is one of those rare games I'll grind out a performance and settings feature for before continuing to play it – yee gads, what a concept – for fun. It's more or less exactly what I'd have asked from a modern take, with refreshed visuals and UX improvements bolted directly onto Oblivion's original, famously bent chassis. This hybrid engine approach, similar to that of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, hands off the graphical rendering gubbins to an Unreal Engine 5 layer while keeping all the game logic to a modified version of what is otherwise just the 2006 backend. Preserving, in the process, that janky daftness that accounts for much of Oblivion's charm, with qualified support for the original's mods on the side. Still, the performance impact of Oblivion Remastered's new look is not to be trifled with. Even with DLSS/FSR upscaling support and frame generation, this is a tough one to run smoothly at its highest settings, especially if you deploy the ray tracing effects that (for once) really do enhance and enliven the scenery. |

Here's the placeholder for that presentation.
As a note, the stream will only be available in Japanese. You can catch it on the official PakaTube channel, which is a channel specifically for Umamusume: Pretty Derby. The stream will likely also include information for the main Japanese server of the game.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby first came out in Japan in 2021, three years after its original release window of 2018. It's part of the Umamusume multi-media franchise, which also includes manga, anime, and movies. In Umamusume: Pretty Derby, you are a trainer at Tracen Academy, which is a training school for umamusume, or horse girls. When you start the game, you can choose which girl you want to train. Throughout her scenario, you can raise her to become the star racer and center of her year. There's also a story mode that focuses more on an ensemble cast.
Since the game came out, it's been ridiculously popular, becoming the third highest-grossing mobile game within its first month. As of May 2024, it made over 2.4 billion JPY in revenue and, as of June 2024, it surpassed 21 million downloads. All those stats are with Japan as its only market, as well.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby is readily available on Windows PC and mobile devices in Japan. The global version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby is in development, and we'll hear more news about it on April 27, 2025.

That gives people a golden compact mirror that looks like the one Mona uses, an eyemask with both logos in colors that match Mona, the 15ML travel-size Charlotte's Magic Water Cream, the 34ML travel-size Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray, the Deluxe Sample size of Charlotte's Magic Serum Crystal Elixir, a themed drawstring pouch to hold it all, and a code that gives you 160 Primogems, 50,000 Mora, 5 Hero's Wits, and 5 Sanctifying Unctions.
The larger of the two boxes includes more full-size products. That is called the Starry Miracle Box, and it costs £155 (~$206). That comes with two themed bags with Genshin Impact imagery and Mona, with one being a makeup bag and the other a tote bag. You also get a pin that resembles her, a set of stickers with her and the Charlotte Tilbury logo, and a headband to hold your hair back while doing makeup. As for the actual makeup items and lotions included, people get a full-size 15ML of the Cry-Recovery Eye Serum, a 30ML size of Charlotte's Magic Cream, and a Full-Size version of the Charlotte's Magic Lip Oil.
Here's how those Genshin Impact Charlotte Tilbury boxes look:

As for the Genshin Impact Coca Cola collab in Japan, it is a "while supplies last" sort of affair. If you are in a store and buy four applicable products, you get a drawstring bag with Paimon, Chasca, Citlali, or Ororon on one side and chibi versions of all four characters' faces on the back. Participating items include Coca Cola soda, Fanta soda, Ayataka teas, Georgia coffee, and Aquarius sports drinks. When using Coke ON, people who buy a ticket set also get in-game items like Primogems, Mora, and Hero's Wits.

The Genshin Impact Special Program confirmed what the teaser suspected, which is that the Windblume Festival will return in 5.6. However, it won't be as separate event, as that part will involve Fontaine. Rather, that Archon Quest involves Albedo and the Traveler facing new challenges.
As for the banners, it's primarily filled with reruns, though Escoffier is a new five-star in this update. The first part of the update, which starts on May 7, 2025, features that new character and a rerun of the five-star Navia. The new four-star unit Ifa will join as a focus character on their banners, then appear permanently in the pool of options. The second phase of the update will feature Kinich and Raiden Shogun reruns. There will also be a Chronicled Wish banner that lets you set Ayaka, Ayato, Chiori, Itto, Kazuha, Kokomi, Yae Miko, or Yoimiya as your designated five-star.
Here's the trailer for the Genshin Impact 5.6 Paralogism update. It begins with the Windblume Festival of the year for the new story quests and confirms a big part of it will involve Fontaine and its Chevalmarin Film event and amusement park. Furina's appearance is teased for that Fontaine portion. A cooking competition that includes Escoffier also comes up. Kinich and Wriosthesley will also appear.
The full Special Program for 5.6 can be seen below:
There's also a dedicated Events Overview showcase:
Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, and the Windblume Festival event will return alongside the launch of 5.6 on May 7, 2025.

Back when GOG announced the Dreamlist initiative to grant access to older PC versions of games, it made a point of mentioning Breath of Fire IV. Then, on April 24, 2025, it teased the title on social media. Now, the game is back as part of the GOG Preservation Program initiative. It costs $9.99.
As part of the announcement, GOG confirmed about 22,000 voted for the Breath of Fire game on the Dreamlist site. It also went over the additional features implemented to help ensure compatibility and make sure it runs as well as possible on modern systems. Part of that means it works with Windows 10 or 11, both in full-screen or windoed mode. Anti-aliasing, V-sync, and gamma correction are also available. Of course there's still controller support, with newer ones like the DualSense, Xbox Series X, Joy-Cons, and NVIDIA Shield ones working. It does support cloud saves. The only audio option is Japanese, but you can switch between the English and Japanese subtitles.
As with other GOG releases, this version of Breath of Fire IV also includes some adjusted and restored content. Specifically, the crane and warehouse minigames are apparently "improved" on some way. The company also worked with Capcom to restore missing environmental sounds.
Here's the trailer for the release:
Breath of Fire IV debuted on the PlayStation worldwide, it appeared on the PC in both Japan and Europe, and now it is widely available via GOG.

As I go through the puzzles in Tempopo, the latest game from Unpacking creator Witch Beam, I find myself wondering, "Maybe this can fix me." 2025's been a rough year! But there's something about the optimism, messaging, music, and ability to completely control every situation to ensure a happy ending for every person (plant) involved that brings me hope and joy again. It's oozing with charm, while still offering a challenge.
There's honestly not too much to Tempopo's story. Hana is a gifted girl who lives among musical flowers and creatures known as Tempopo. When preparing to lead the flora in a festive song, her conducting skills instead conjure up a tornado. All of the plants are blown away. This means heading to floating islands in a multitude of biomes and experiencing each season to recollect all of them and set them back up at home. However, not every island is peaceful, which will mean directing the Tempopo accurately in each space to avoid or use enemies to her advantage while also utilizing special abilities to get every flower to the goal.
Is the story a little simplistic and perhaps even a bit childish? Sure. Does that matter? Not at all. Chu Chu Rocket and Captain Toad both involved fantastic puzzles without being narrative masterpieces, and that's the case with Tempopo too. Getting to solve more challenges and feel smart when you figure out the right placements and patterns is motivation and reward enough.
Every island in the 60 base levels is a 3D space. There will be at least one flower to collect. At the start of a level, you'll see you have a number of different type of directions Hana can issue. If you're playing on Adventure, Witch Beam helps by showing where each direction should be places in the game's levels. Puzzle leaves it all up to you. (Challenge is a harder, unlockable selection of 60 more puzzles.) The key is that you need to get Tempopo to grab the missing flowers and bring them safely to a designated exit. So like Captain Toad, you need to be aware of the environment, timing, and the correct path to get from point A to point B without missing anything.
![]()
![]()
![]()
The Chu Chu Rocket element comes up with the actual directions. You aren't guiding each Tempopo through an island. Hana conducts them. That means placing blocks that determine directions, if the fantasy creatures temporarily transform, if they get brief access to tools, and similar boons that make it possible for them to help the one critter grabbing all the plants where they need to be. These beings will constantly move forward in one direction, just like Chu Chu Rocket's mice and cats, turning right and continuing if they hit a wall. This means you need to place the additional correct directions to get them to the proper places or past obstacles. Likewise, your actions can affect the movement patterns of enemies, which can eliminate dangers or use their abilities to gain access to spots.
Now, in Adventure this solutions do feel a bit more obvious due to Witch Beam implementing a system that flat out shows where orders should go. But in Puzzle it can get genuinely puzzling! I would say the 15th island is the one where Witch Beam decides it is not playing, the game gets serious, and you really need to consider proper placement and what will happen with each Tempopo on-screen. If things do get rough, know you can swap between Puzzle and Adventure difficulty options at any time, but I really suggest trying your best to get through a stage on Puzzle. The satisfaction that comes from figuring out exactly how things should go is just sublime.
![]()
![]()
![]()
I also feel compelled to offer a shoutout to Witch Beam for the game accessibility options in Tempopo. In addition to the two difficulty options, which are Puzzle and Adventure, get three other options to help out. Low-vision is designed to make things more clear. The same goes for Tempopo accessories, which makes it easier to distinguish between the ones you have available to send around the stage and complete objectives. Stationary Island Transition is also handy for people who might have issues with rapid motions. I actually used Tempopo accessories for the unlockable Challenge stages, since it did come in really handy when working out proper paths. The only thing is, I do think it might be a bit easier to place directions with a mouse, as while the Switch's scheme worked, I feel like I could have had a bit more control on a computer.
By the way, the characters and environments in the game look great. The soundtrack is fantastic too. It's quite cartoonish, which I feel would make it welcoming for younger audiences. Replanting the flowers in Hana's garden also feels a bit like a fun thing for a kiddo to do, though it's also a musical creation tool since you're hearing different tones from each one.
However, another perk to the design direction is that it helps with visibility. It is very easy to see what each ability or action will do at a glance and where it is. The Tempopo are quite visible. Even though there are different levels of depth, it is clear to see how each is handled. Plus, well, it's very cute and unique.
Tempopo is another impeccable Witch Beam game. Considering what the company's done with it, Assault Android Cactus, and Unpacking, I'm starting to wonder if the team can't miss. It's deceptively difficult, quite satisfying, and a wonderful way to spend a few hours. Especially when you really start getting into the more challenging stages.
Tempopo is available on the Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Ten years ago, I'd have dismissed turn-based RPGs as too slow and lacking the intensity of real-time combat. That was until Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 came along, showing that my once-despised mechanic can be surprisingly magnificent.
I hesitated to dive into the title, but as a gaming journalist, I try to keep an open mind. And, boy, am I glad I did. One of the first things that shifted my apathy toward its turn-based combat was the handy dodge and parry system. In my past experiences, characters would just stand there and take a beating. Or, at best, you'd sacrifice a move to defend instead of attacking. But Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 lets you dodge and parry freely without burning your AP or actions. You still need the skill to pull off those maneuvers, but at least you have the option.
And when you nail those moves just right, you feel on top of the world, especially when you land a counter, and the whole cast comes together for an epic takedown. While perfecting dodges and parries can be tricky, the turn-based combat is highly user-friendly. Look, I'm no expert, but Expedition 33 strikes the perfect balance, helping beginners like me while still offering a challenge for seasoned RPG players.
![]()
For those utterly new to turn-based combat, Story mode is the perfect way to ease into it. The enemies aren't overwhelming, and dodging and parrying are more forgiving. I know it might seem like a copout to some, but I had to go with this mode to take the pressure off. Thanks to it, I didn't ragequit like I have with other RPGs, and now I actually look forward to battles. I've had my fair share of moments where I'd avoid fights at all costs in other games, but now that I know I stand a better chance, I'm more motivated than ever. I just like being on the winning side, okay?
Meanwhile, veterans who miss the classic turn-based combat can crank up the difficulty with Expeditioner mode. Heck, even the in-game settings say it's designed for turn-based players, offering a tough challenge. Dodging isn't required here, so if you're into the "just stand there and take it" approach I mentioned earlier, this difficulty is for you. What surprised me, though, is how the last and final difficulty, Expert, leans into real-time combat with mandatory parrying and blocking. It's perfect for players who want a serious test and have no love for turn-based mechanics.
The difficulty and dodging maneuvers aren't the only inviting aspects of Clair Obscure: Expedition 33's combat. Its breathtaking visuals are what truly give turn-based mechanics a fresh twist. I instantly fell in love with the UI, which brings every detail to life, from the vibrant colors to the unique patterns. The animations feel alive, shifting the camera and adding in paint-like art. Even something as simple as opening the Items bar becomes mesmerizing with those tiny yet impactful details.
![]()
Then everything clicks the moment you land an attack. Every takedown feels like a cinematic action scene ripped straight out of a movie. Watching these characters wipe out enemies never gets old, and it feels like I'm on the sidelines cheering them on. The soundtrack especially elevates that cinematic energy, almost on par with the intense, high-stakes moments of Final Fantasy. The way it all comes together finally won me over to turn-based combat after all these years.
Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 didn't just change my mind about turn-based RPGs—it kicked down the door, tossed out my old opinions, and redecorated the place. With stylish combat, smart difficulty options, and visuals that make your eyes say "thank you," it proves the genre still has plenty of life left. And if that doesn't win you over, well... you can whip out a gun and shoot nightmares in the face. What more could you need?

Escoffier in Genshin Impact is a Cryo character from Fontaine, and HoYoverse has officially revealed her official English and Japanese voice actors.
The English VA lacks experience compared to the Japanese VA, but both have lent their voices to characters in some of the most popular anime and video games. You can find more details about Escoffier's English and Japanese voice actors' past works in this article.
Escoffier's Japanese voice actor
Satou Satomi is the official Japanese voice behind Escoffier in Genshin Impact. She's a well-known voice actor in the anime community and has voiced several characters in popular series. Here's a list of Satou Satomi's other notable roles:

More on Escoffier
Escoffier is a 5-star Cryo character and a renowned chef in Fontaine. She's a solid unit, especially in the Freeze teams, because she can shred the enemies' Cryo and Hydro resistances after hitting them with her Elemental Skill or Burst. Furthermore, Escoffier can deal a good amount of damage even when off-field and provide a massive amount of healing, making her an ideal support for characters like Ayaka.
If you love using Cryo, Escoffier will be a great addition to your account since she can do a lot of things.

No matter if you plan on building a fully fledged Mage or are dipping your toes in both melee and magic with a well-versed Spellcaster, Magicka will be your lifeblood in The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered.
But how exactly can you boost your total? So you can increase your overall mana pool early on and let out a never-ending wave of spells, here's how to get more Magicka in Oblivion Remastered.
Table of contents
How to get more Magicka in Oblivion Remastered
You can increase your Magicka total in Oblivion Remastered by raising your Intelligence stat after leveling up. Like all other stats in the game, you can raise your Intelligence to a maximum of 100. To make the most out of your character, make sure to also invest in Willpower to boost your Magicka regeneration speed.
![]()
It's also possible to boost your Magicka in Oblivion Remastered by equipping enhanced armor, items, or clothing featuring the Fortify Intelligence effect. When in the heat of the moment, you can also raise your total momentarily by drinking potions. If above Alchemy level 50, you can make a Fortify Intelligence potion by combining one Carrot and one Clouded Funnel Cap.
How to enchant items in Oblivion Remastered
![]()
Enchanting items in Oblivion Remastered is something you can do by either using a Sigil Stone or interacting with an Altar of Enchanting. Although the stones can be acquired by closing Oblivion Gates, the altars can be found within both the Arcane University and on Frostcrag Spire, the latter of which won't require joining the Mages Guild and completing its trials to access.
Upon reaching an altar, you can enchant any available item of your choosing by following the steps below. You can also check out how to unlock Frostcrag Spire from the get-go by heading further down.
![]()
The rarity of your Soul Gem will define the strength of your imbued effect. You can get the Magetallow Candles needed to light the altar on Frostcrag Spire by heading to Mystic Emporium on the Imperial City's Market District and purchasing a box. Be advised; the box will cost over 2,500 gold. To get the sum quickly, I recommend heading to a few farms, harvesting their resources, using them to make potions, and then selling the latter in waves to any merchant.
Frostcrag Spire location and how to unlock
A DLC exclusive location in the original game, you can reach Frostcrag Spire and get a free base in Oblivion Remastered by fast-travelling to Bruna and then heading west toward the spot marked on the map below. The tower won't be hard to spot and can be easily seen from the city.
![]()
Upon reaching the tower, you can enter it by either lockpicking its average difficulty lock or finding its key. Once inside, you can find the area's Altar of Enchanting in its main hall, left of its Atronach Altar.

There's a secret puzzle you can solve throughout the Alice in Wonderland Realm to claim some exclusive rewards in Disney Dreamlight Valley. This secret quest involves finding a series of purple keys and locks scattered around the vast Realm.
Like most quests in Wonderland, this one is intentionally designed to be pretty tough to complement the unpredictable and confusing nature of this strange world. It's a pretty complex puzzle to solve, so here's how to find all the secret keys and locks in the Alice in Wonderland Realm in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Table of contents
All Alice in Wonderland Realm keys in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
There are eight keys you can find throughout the Realm, and each one is used to open a lock that grants you another key. The only exception to this is the very last key, which grants you a reward for your hard work. You must collect and use the keys in a precise order to progress this secret quest. The collection order for the keys is as follows.
How to find and use the Odd Key in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The very first key you need to grab is the Odd Key. To find this item, head to the Cheshire Cat's tree near the southwest corner of the biome. From this tree, head north down the pathway through two forest sections until you reach the northwest corner of the region.
Once you're in this corner area, look left near the sign that has the word "up" on it. There's a stack of two glowing purple logs right in front of it, which look just like the ones that contain the ingredients for More Time during the Wonders of Wonderland quest. Interact with these logs to reveal a green chest that contains the Odd Key.
![]()
How to find and use the Weird Key in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Once you have the Odd Key in your inventory, head south to the forest section right between the area you were just in and the one that has the Cheshire Cat's tree. Turn right and look for the purple padlock on a rock between a sign that says "up" and another one that says "back."
Interact with this lock to use the Odd Key and open it. Inside, you'll find the Weird Key.
![]()
How to find and use the Strange Key in Disney Dreamlight Valley
From where you found the Weird Key, turn around to face the pond. Head directly north around it to enter the forest region where the singing flowers are hanging out. These are the same ones you can get some Contrary Perfume ingredients from.
Look directly across from the singing flowers to find another padlock on a rock. Interact with this one to get rid of your Weird Key and obtain the Strange Key.
![]()
How to find and use the Peculiar Key in Disney Dreamlight Valley
You have to take a bit of a trip through the forest to find the Peculiar Key. From where you found the last one, head north around the pond. Continue down the path until you enter a new forest section and reach another pond. Turn left at this pond and keep going straight until you see the pathway that leads to the Queen's maze.
Turn right near the entrance to this path to spot another lock. Use your Strange Key to unlock it, then interact with it again to grab the Peculiar Key.
![]()
How to find and use the Curious Key in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Continue down the path to exit the forest, head through the tree portal, and enter the Queen's maze. As soon as you're through the portal, turn right and go around the back of it. Walk past the bushes and rocks and continue walking behind the portal until you reach another lock. Interact with it to trade your Peculiar Key for a Curious Key.
![]()
How to find and use the Uncanny Key in Disney Dreamlight Valley
It's time to head into the Queen's maze now, so finding the next few is going to be a bit tougher. To locate the Uncanny Key, head straight into the maze, then make a left when you can't go straight anymore.
Continue straight until a pathway on your left opens up right past a row of five rose bushes. Walk forward slightly, and when the path narrows a bit with a hedge on your right, turn around and look at the back of it to find another lock. Transfer over your Curious Key to earn the Uncanny Key.
![]()
How to find and use the Bizarre Key in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Turn around from where you found the Uncanny Key to keep heading deeper into the maze. You'll soon come across a branch in the path where you can either continue straight or turn right. Keep going straight and stay on the main path.
Eventually, you'll reach an open gate on the left side of the maze that allows you to enter the second section of the maze. If it's not open, you need to complete The Queen's Maze quest before you can progress.
Once the gate is down, head through this opening and sneak past the two guards to get through the next part of the maze. Continue straight under the hedge heart archway to reach another section of the maze.
![]()
Walk forward slightly from the archway to reveal a secret hedge pathway. Head inside the newly unlocked area, then turn left and go through a second hidden hedge wall. Turn right once you're out the other side and walk through another hedge heart archway.
This area is heavily guarded, so move carefully to avoid being caught. Walk forward slightly, then make a right just before you reach the first guard. Continue down the path and stop right before you reach two more guards.
While standing near the guards, look to your right to spot the next lock hanging on the hedge. Interact with it to use your Uncanny Key and earn a shiny new Bizarre Key.
![]()
How to find and use the Fantastical Key in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Sneak past the two guards near the spot where you found the last key to continue through the maze. Keep heading straight until you find another hedge heart arch and walk through it past the row of guards. These ones aren't on duty, so you can safely walk right by them with no issues.
You'll now find yourself in the Queen's croquet garden. Walk straight past the tea table, around the guards on the ground, and turn left, right by a rose bush. Approach the hedge wall to find the lock you can interact with to turn your Bizarre Key into a Fantastical Key.
![]()
How to unlock the heart gate in Alice in Wonderland Realm in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Return to the center of the Queen's croquet garden and approach the massive heart gate near the back end of it. Interact with this gate to use the Fantastical Key and unlock it. Inside, you'll find a furniture pouch. You can then open this item from your inventory to earn a Large Blue Teacup, a Large Pink Teacup, and a Large Yellow Teacup.
![]()
These special items make great decorations for wherever you decide to set up Alice and the Cheshire Cat in your valley. Regardless of how you intend to use them, the secret key and lock quest is now complete, so you can move on to other tasks like Books with No Pictures and Mimsy Were the Borogoves.

Escoffier is the latest addition to the Genshin Impact roster, and she will be in the first phase of version 5.6. She is a sub-DPS and support character capable of doing a lot of things that will make your Cryo team stronger.
Some of you might be debating whether or not you should pull for Escoffier in Genshin Impact 5.6. So, here's a simple guide discussing Escoffier's abilities and if she is worth your Primogems.
Escoffier abilities in Genshin Impact
Escoffier has some really solid abilities. Firstly, her Elemental Skill summons a Cooking Mek that follows the active unit and deals Cryo damage to nearby enemies. This allows Escoffier to be a strong Cryo sub-DPS unit, something we've been lacking.
Meanwhile, her Elemental Burst deals an AoE Cryo DMG to enemies and heals all the party members. Additionally, one of her ascension passives is tied to her Burst, and it provides further healing to the active unit every second. So not only can Escoffier deal a good amount of damage, but also heal her allies at the same time.
![]()
Escoffier's second ascension passive is also a major reason she's an amazing Cryo and Hydro support character. She can shred the Cryo and Hydro resistances of the enemies hit by her Elemental Skill or Burst when her party members' elemental type is also Cryo or Hydro, and the more the better.
Finally, if you like cooking in Genshin Impact, you can get Escoffier's help to create a certain number of special dishes every week by absorbing the elemental attacks.
Overall, Escoffier is arguably the best Cryo and Hydro support unit since she can pretty much do everything. She can deal off-field damage and shred the enemy's resistance. Furthermore, Escoffier can heal all the party members, making her a great pair with Furina. The renowned chef's healing also scales with her ATK, so it is pretty easy to build her.
Speaking of which, you can check out Escoffier's best build guide here.
Should you pull Escoffier?
![]()
We have already established that Escoffier is a great support unit in Genshin Impact. However, whether or not you should get her will also depend on the teams you generally use.
If you like using Neuvillette, Ayaka, Wriothesley, or another Cryo and Hydro team, and would like good support, Escoffier is definitely worth pulling. Additionally, some recent leaks suggest Skirk will likely be a Cryo DPS unit that relies on her enhanced Normal Attacks and Elemental Burst, so Escoffier would be great with her.
However, you can skip Escoffier if you're not interested in running Cryo characters. This will also save your precious Primogems for another character.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's mimes are no joke. They look eerie and creepy and can even defeat you in battle if you provoke them. The earliest one you can encounter is in Lumière during the prologue just before the pre-Expedition festival begins.
Finding Lumière's mime, however, is only half the challenge. You'll still need to engage in battle with it, letting you test your combat skills for the second time in your playthrough. Let's dive into how to find and defeat this mysterious mime.
Table of contents
How to find the mime for the A Peculiar Encounter achievement
You'll first encounter the Lumière Mime during Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's prologue after meeting up with Sophie. After talking with her and traveling through the crowds of people toward the harbor, you'll find a broken Arc de Triomphe, where you can turn right to spot the mime just near a group of dancers.
![]()
The mime won't act hostile toward you immediately. It'll initially gesture with its hands in the air, but otherwise be safe to approach—until you walk up and question what it's doing. Talking to the mime starts your battle, so prepare yourself before approaching it.
How to defeat the Lumière Mime in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
For an enemy you encounter during Expedition 33's prologue, this mime can be tough if you're unfamiliar with the game's combat mechanics. It'll immediately start with the mime protecting itself, giving you a chance to have your first attack before the mime retaliates.
Overall, your goal during this fight is to get Overcharge stacks by using regular attacks, dodging, and successfully parrying the mime's attacks. Whittling down its health using Lumière Assault and regular attacks is also an option, but Overcharge can very easily knock out the mime in one fell swoop if you max out your charges.
![]()
You'll encounter a few attacks from the Lumière Mime along the way, depending on how long the battle lasts. Its most common attack is a hand-to-hand combo, where it'll punch you three times, inflicting a small amount of damage per hit. This is a great opportunity to obtain Overcharge progress if you can time the dodge right. Better yet, if you can time Gustave's parry attacks, you'll get some bonus damage in before your next turn begins.
The mime's other possible attack is what the game calls a Strange Combo, causing the mime to whip out a hammer and hit you four times. It has similar timing to the hand-to-hand combo, but can inflict more damage if you don't quite have the timing down for dodges. Don't be afraid to resort to dodging if parry timing is a little too tricky at this point in your playthrough.
As long as you can dodge or parry most of the mime's attacks, this battle shouldn't be too much of a problem. You'll receive a Lumière music record as a reward for defeating the mime alongside the "A Peculiar Encounter" achievement or trophy, depending on your gaming platform. If you managed to break the mime using Overcharge early in your battle, you'll also receive the Time to Spill Some Ink achievement.

If you're planning on hosting a tea party and celebrating an unbirthday, you need to cook some dishes straight out of Wonderland for the occasion in Disney Dreamlight Valley. One of the Wonderland-themed recipes you can cook is Cheshire Cat Tail.
It's tricky to figure out how to cook something you've never made since there are many unique ingredients. Instead of testing all of them until you find the right combination, you can get this one right from the start if you know the recipe. Here's how to make Cheshire Cat Tail in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Table of contents
Disney Dreamlight Valley Cheshire Cat Tail recipe
![]()
Cheshire Cat Tail is a four-star Dessert recipe, which means you need a total of four ingredients to make it in DDV. The four items you need to combine at a cooking station to make it are:
It's a surprisingly basic recipe for how colorful and unique it looks. All of the ingredients are staples in the regular valley, so you don't have to venture into the Alice in Wonderland Realm for any special ones.
How to get Cocoa Beans in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Cocoa Beans can be picked from six Cacao Trees around the valley. Two of these trees start off in the Glade of Trust biome, while the other four first appear in the Sunlit Plateau region. They can be moved anywhere around the valley, so they're likely not where they started.
If you don't remember where you moved them, the only way to track them down is by checking the map for the Fruit icon. All Fruit trees and bushes are marked by this icon, so you just have to check all of them until you find what you're looking for.
How to get Eggs in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Eggs are exclusively available for purchase from Chez Remy. Remy sells them in his pantry for 220 Star Coins, so they're decently costly. You only need one for this recipe, so earning enough to purchase it should be fairly doable.
How to get Wheat in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Wheat is a crop you can grow by planting Wheat Seeds around the valley. These seeds can be purchased from Goofy's Stall for one Star Coin in the Peaceful Meadow and Ancient's Landing biomes. It only takes one minute to grow after you water it.
How to get Sugarcane in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Just like Wheat, Sugarcane also needs to be planted, watered, and harvested. Sugarcane Seeds can be bought from Goofy's Stall at Dazzle Beach for five Star Coins. Sugarcane takes seven minutes to grow.
![]()
Once you have all four ingredients you need, head to a cooking station to throw them in and cook this meal. You also need one Coal Ore to start cooking, so be sure to mine some rock nodes if you're missing this item.
If you're looking for more Wonderland-themed fun, consider tackling quests like Mimsy Were the Borogoves and Books with No Pictures. You may also need to know how to find the Jabberwock and all Pencil Bird question answers.

Most enemies are easy enough to dispatch. A few proper whacks with something heavy or sharp is usually enough to do the trick. But what about when that's not enough? That's precisely the situation you'll find yourself in if you go up against a Will-o-the-Wisp in Oblivion Remastered.
While there are plenty of foes in Oblivion Remastered, only some will require a bit of careful planning. Specific enemies are resistant or entirely immune to certain types of damage, so you'll have to build around these hurdles to take them down. The Will-o-the-Wisp is one such creature bristling with immunities, but it's not as tough a challenge as it initially appears.
Will-o-the-Wisp defenses
The Will-o-the-Wisp is completely immune to regular weapon damage, including bows and poisoned weapons. It can also sidestep paralysis effects from any source. That said, the weapon damage immunity does not extend to enchanted or magic weapons. Additionally, it can cast its abilities without fear of being silenced.
How to damage a Will-o-the-Wisp
![]()
While a run-of-the-mill weapon won't work against Will-o-the-Wisps, they're not impossible to defeat. The easiest way to go about damaging one is by relying on either magic or Silver weapons. Mages have the edge here, as any Destruction magic can get the job done. In a pinch, the right scroll could work just fine. Alternatively, non-spell casters could also use a staff to take down the foe. Of course, that requires having a suitable option on-hand.
Silver is another great option to tackle a Will-o-the-Wisp, and has the added bonus of being super effective against the undead. Silver weapons can damage entities that are normally immune to physical damage, like ghosts. The effect is also suitable here, but depending on when players are encountering the Will-o-the-Wisp, Silver weapons may be out of reach.
An often overlooked alternative to tackle a Will-o-the-Wisp, or any physical damage-resistant foe is the Hand-to-Hand skill. At higher levels, your fists work a lot like a Silver weapon, damaging even enemies completely immune to physical damage.
How to fight against a Will-o-the-Wisp
![]()
The Will-o-the-Wisp looks like a small glowing light that can be easy to miss during hectic combat. It moves fast and can reduce its visibility if desired, making it even harder to hit. That said, you don't want to let a Will-o-the-Wisp get too close. The little buggers actually only have attacks that function within touch range, so as long as you stay out of its grasp, it can't hurt you.
If you're unlucky enough to get caught by the foe, it will attempt to absorb your health and mana. Savvy players may try to counter this with some Mysticism magic to reflect the spell effect. That does work, and the Will-o-the-Wisp will hilariously start giving you its own health and mana.
If the invisibility does become a persistent issue, another spell like Detect Life can counter its effects. If it's available, players can also get a similar effect by choosing to engage the enemy near water. The Will-o-the-Wisp will still leave ripples in the water's surface, working like a Detect Life spell even if that's not an option.

The Unicorn mount is arguably the coolest rides to find in Oblivion Remastered, but finding it isn't exactly the easiest task in the game.
Mounts in the game are not mere cosmetics, as they have different in-game effects. The Unicorn mount has amazing stats and effects, which makes a lot of sense for you to find it as quickly as possible. This guide will provide you with all the important information, including the main reason why you should go for the elusive beast.
Unicorn location in Oblivion Remastered
Once you have completed the tutorial in Oblivion Remastered, you can begin looking for the Unicorn mount. This is one of the biggest advantages associated with this specific mount. To find the beast, you'll have to travel to Harcane Grove. You'll find the location marked on the screenshot below.
![]()
The Harcane Grove is located in the northwest part of Bravil, close to the Upper Nibon River. The location is a bit tricky to reach due to the surrounding terrain, but it's not inaccessible by any means. The closest landmark is the Shrine of Hircine, and you'll have to travel south from this spot.
How to get the Unicorn mount in Oblivion Remastered
Catching the Unicorn isn't easy, as you'll have to take on a batch of minotaurs. There are two ways to mitigate the problem.
If you go with the second approach, you'll want to take on the minotaurs one at a time. If you go with the first approach, you'll have to cast the spell. Without drawing a weapon, ride the Unicorn and ride away as fast as possible. Make sure that you don't have a weapon drawn near the Unicorn, as that will cause it to panic. It's also important to ensure that the minotaurs are not following you by any chance.
Unicorn mount stats in Oblivion Remastered
Here's the full set of Unicorn stats.
This specific mount is great for those who want to rely on speed, but it also offers decent damage. As good as the Unicorn is, you can't keep it forever. It will always leave after you have dismounted the creature, and you won't be able to find it in your stats. Technically, you can't own the Unicorn, unlike other horses available inside the game.
Also, note that you can only find one Unicorn. If you kill it as part of the Hircine quest, the creature can't be ridden ever again.
