I've played over 12 hours of MindsEye, the new semi-open-world action game from former longtime Grand Theft Auto producer Leslie Benzies. I finished it. I reached its terrible ending after pushing through countless bugs, horrible performance issues, and so many boring phone calls. And yet, after all that, if you were…

While I love the Civilization games dearly, Firaxis has always struggled to differentiate its factions beyond the surface level. I'm therefore eager for the arrival of Endless Legend 2, the long-awaited sequel to Amplitude Studios' 2014 4X game. Much like its predecessor, EL2 focuses on a smaller pool of much more distinctive playable empires, ensuring that every one feels entirely unique from the others. With Civ 7 still yet to find its footing as we approach the Endless Legend 2 launch, Amplitude reveals its latest addition, and it gives a new name to my personal top pick from the original.

Finding an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 in stock can be a hellish task in and of itself thanks to low stock levels and inflated prices, but you can get one for free with Doom The Dark Ages branding if you enter this GPU competition. You can even win a Doom Slayer helmet and skateboard if you get your entries in fast before it closes.

Without a doubt, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 is one of the best graphics cards on the market, demonstrating superb results in our benchmark tests, and establishing itself as the most powerful GPU money can buy. With supreme power, however, comes a supreme price tag, with the RTX 5090 retailing with an MSRP of $1,999. Unfortunately, you'll almost never see it available at that price, as stock shortages and price gouging means prices are often a lot higher, especially in the US.

The Gears of War Reloaded system requirements confusingly list nine total GPUs across the minimum and recommended tiers. While there could be an excellent explanation for this, the developer has yet to provide one, instead leaving us with a set of system requirements that are difficult to understand.

One thing we do know from the given specs is that you won't need the best graphics card to get the best out of Gears of War Reloaded. There is a chance that these specs will change as we move through the beta phases and into the GoW Reloaded release date, but for now, older PC gaming hardware is very much in play.

What's on sale in the League of Legends Mythic shop? New skins for LoL are released all the time, with a new event arriving on the Rift every few weeks, but what happens if you missed the boat with that awesome K/DA Evelynn skin, or if you've seen a Hextech skin in a game of Summoner's Rift and want to bag it for yourself?

The Mythic shop is a special storefront in the free PC game that stocks rare skins, wards, chromas, and Nexes finishers. These cosmetic items aren't available for real-world money, as they can only be purchased with Mythic Essence, so no more worrying about how much you've spent in League of Legends. French studio Don't Nod have laid off workers across multiple departments. The full number is unconfirmed, but multiple affected staff have posted about their departures on LinkedIn, including Lost Records: Bloom & Rage principal cinematic artist Mary Pouliot, technical artist Laurent Dufrense, and QA lead Sandra Cormier.

It's been a rocky year or so for Don't Nod's staff. Last September, the studio paused two unannounced games and said they're altering others, also unannounced, to be more appealing to a "wider audience", following warnings about an 11% decline in operating revenue for the first half of 2024. Chairman and CEO Oskar Guilbert attributed this to (the excellent) Jusant and Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden performing "well below expectations" commercially.

Kindly Father Internet has dispensed a few new details for The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, Rogue Trader developer Owlcat's recently announced RPG adaptation of the sci-fi book and TV series. It sounds like it's operating within the fine tradition of spin-off stories that are always a step behind or a room across from the live action celebrities.

I refer to games like The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, in which the noble human ranger Alsogorn, the stout dwarven warrior Simarli, the shieldmaiden Eowynnish and the other members of the Followship of the Ring pitch in with Gandalf, Faramir and co in scenes that might have been lifted from Petey Jackson's cutting room floor. Except that turning the Balrog bridge fight into a five-way Final Fantasy slapfest is just naff.

The American Federal Trade Commission has given out a further $126 million (around £91 million) in refunds to Fortnite players who've been "charged for unwanted purchases", bringing the overall total issued so far to about $200 million. It's also given eligible players who're yet to submit a refund claim some extra time to do so.

These refunds are the ongoing fallout to a pair of complaints made to the FTC over Fortnite, which Epic opted to settle in late 2022 by paying a combined total of $520 million (£427 million). Epic were accused of breaching the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by collecting data on under 13 Fortnite players without parental consent, and deliberately using tactics such as confusing button placements intended to push folks into buying cosmetics from the Fortnite store unintentionally.

Thilmann had always sneered at apocalyptic portents. Comfort blankets, he thought. The warming wool of fire and brimstone and an end to all that is and will ever be, pulled up over arrogant fools, shivering from just having come to terms with their own mortality, afeared they'd miss out on the important parts. It is the ultimate comfort, he always said, to believe that you'll tie with creation at the finish line, celestial mechanisms sputtering out in time with your own squishy innards. And yet, he could not help himself sensing finality on the wind. Louder even, it seemed, than the goading arena crowd about them.

I Love the Female Characters in Death Stranding 2

Whenever I head into a Hideo Kojima game, I wonder what will happen with the women within them. The titles can feature a lot of fanservice paired with flimsy excuses for that capitulation. (Quiet needs to wear a bikini and not talk for story reasons.) The original Death Stranding wasn't immune, thanks to a scene in which Fragile runs through pouring rain in a white tiny tank top and bikini-style underwear. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach marks a complete turnaround and pleasant surprise for all of its female characters, as they all are strong women who are handled well and wear reasonable outfits.

Editor's Note: There will be some spoilers for characters in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, but major ending reveals after Episode 13 do not appear.

Speaking of Fragile, Kojima Productions handles every element of her storyline in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach extraordinarily well. She remains an incredibly strong individual, even though Jumpshock keeps her from using the Beach for her teleporting. The story begins with her still working and in a position of power, even as Sam withdrew to devote himself to raising his daughter Lou. While she considers herself responsible for a tragedy early on tied to the child, she doesn't let that stop or change her. She's CEO of the company Drawbridge, which is now in charge of the Chiral Network expansion project. She is the leader onboard the DHV Magellan.

As part of that role, Kojima Productions goes out of its way to not only tell us all she's accomplished, but make her role a pivotal one in the stories of nearly every member of Drawbridge on the DHV Magellan. She is head of the company. She found Rainy, helped realize the exact nature of her DOOMS ability, and give her a new sense of place and purpose. She found Dollman, keeping him from being trapped in a tar pit for eternity. Once Tomorrow boards the ship, it is Fragile who ensures she is welcomed, aids Tarman in extracting her from the crysalis even though it puts her at risk, educates her alongside Rainy, and even works alongside her on a supplemental mission. It wouldn't be a stretch to say Fragile is more important to members on the crew than Sam, the "hero" of the adventure.

Rainy, though underutilized, is also a ray of sunshine in the cast. Her DOOMS means that timefall begins whenever she steps outside. However, the rain immediately in her vicinity features a unique property. Rather than hurting, it heals. It's why Fragile's body, aged from Timefall as a result of running nearly naked through a storm due to Higgs' machinations in the original Death Stranding, is completely recovered here in Death Stranding 2. While she is perpetually stuck at being seven months pregnant in the game due to the effects of the original game and current disruptions between the real world and the Beach, she's never shown to be a sidelined as a result. She's working in her own lab when we pick her up to join the crew. During major fires, she's making appearances on deck to assist. When Fragile and Tomorrow head out on a supply mission, she goes along. She may be pregnant, but she's an active, educated, capable individual doing fieldwork.

Speaking of pregnant women, I feel like Death Stranding 2: On the Beach handles the idea of motherhood and pregnancy than Kojima Productions did with Mama in Death Stranding. Even though Malingen ended up being a major scientist whose discoveries helped keep Sam going, she didn't get to be known by a name that highlighted that defining trait and skillset like many other characters. She was "Mama" because of the baby BT anchored to her. We meet multiple pregnant individuals as a result of the condition affecting some infants, and The Motherhood is a haven for them and The Doctor, a former member of Bridges who worked with Bridge Babiess and is able to use her DOOMS condition to assess the condition of these children and even allow their parents to briefly see and interact with them via BB pods. The people there are armed and capable of defending themselves. They have hope for tomorrow. They are the impetus for a mission to take down a factory to stop the flow of weapons into the region. I personally liked seeing some good come out of the BB and stillmother program, since the tools were being implemented here to allow desperate families reassurance that their babies were okay while waiting for a solution.

Speaking of the BBs, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is more critical of Bridges, stillmothers, and the system in a way I appreciate. I acknowledge the BBs ended up being a necessary evil in the original game for the sake of survival, but I also felt like it normalized that abuse. Here, there's no dispute about how problematic and horrific the program was. The segments with Neil Vana and his therapist Lucy show him breaking down over committing the monstrous act to survive, and we see him fight back against a Bridges authority and express his distaste and disgust for it. Similarly, Lucy's response to it all also highlights the sins Bridges committed.

I realize in all this that I haven't gotten to Tomorrow yet, the sole female member of the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach cast of characters with an outfit that isn't always appropriate for the setting. When found, she's in a white dress. Hardly conventional for exploring a country after an apocalypse or when fighting against enemies with tar-diving capabilities. However, she's never cast as a sex symbol. The outfit honestly provides sufficient coverage, not to mention she's also quickly covered in so much tar that it acts as a second skin. Once she's brought onboard the DHV Magellan, she's given a wardrobe of more appropriate attire for every situation, so we're honestly usually seeing her in an oversized jacket.

Moreover, Tomorrow ends up being one of the most physically strong and combat-ready members of the cast. Rainy points out at one point that she's the most adept shooter due to her time spent in the VR simulator. At one point when she briefly steps off the ship alone, we see that even though she did come from an otherworld, Beach-type setting, she's more than capable of using ladders and Timefall Shelters to stay safe in and traverse a hostile environment. For much of the game, she is the one beating up Higgs and other ghost mechs in a way Sam can't and isn't. One of my favorite lines and moments in the game is when she's heading out on a supply run mission with Fragile and Rainy. Sam expresses concern, since he's going out on a separate task far away from them. She assuages any concerns and points out "we're stronger than you are." Which is proven true for all three of these women throughout Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Each one's DOOMS abilities and other character traits mean they're stronger than Sam in different ways.

And in many ways, you can say that about a lot of the female members of the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach cast, as the women we meet throughout the campaign are all extraordinary individuals. Kojima Productions handled them well and with care. I think anyone who had concerns about portrayals after games like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and the original Death Stranding will be pleasantly surprised with how people are handled.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is available for the PS5.

marvel mystic mayhem hero tier list and reroll guide

Updated on June 26, 2025: Adjusted the tier list and Reroll guide for post release.

There's a lot of heroes in Marvel Mystic Mayhem and you have a limited team size so let's analyze each hero to look for the best ones. I'll also provide tips for each hero as well as best Artifacts, Highlights, and synergies. We'll finish off with a Reroll guide since starting out with a strong hero helps a ton early. Here's my Marvel Mystic Mayhem tier list and Reroll guide.

Marvel Mystic Mayhem Hero Tier List

marvel mystic mayhem hero tier list best heroes
Reasons Below - Image by Destructoid

The best heroes in Marvel Mystic Mayhem are usually those that excel in their own class category and specialize in a certain area. For Defenders you want great tankiness and taunts, for Strikers and Fighters you want great damage and mobility, and for Controllers you want either great healing or excellent utility and crowdcontrol. I'll analyze each hero below but ranking reasons and tips. Legendary Artifacts are always a must but below I'll list the best Epic Artifacts since they're easier to get. The tier breakdowns are as follows:

  • S-Tier: Universally the best options for each Class with the best damage, tanking, healing, and utility.
  • A-Tier: The best alternative to S-Tier heroes that still pack a lot of power.
  • B-Tier: Heroes that either shine in a specific build or struggle to fit in a wider variety of teams.
  • C-Tier: Heroes that are inflexibile and good in specific scenarios but overall underpowered.

Let's dive into ranking reasons and tips for each hero below.

Marvel Mystic Mayhem Reroll Guide

  • marvel mystic mayhem reroll guide
  • how to reroll in marvel mystic mayhem

There are three things you need to know about Marvel Mystic Mayhem's Reroll system including how to reroll (Step 3):

  1. Gacha Unlocks at Level 10: Getting to Level 10 unlocks the Gacha Banners and supplies you with the needed materials to call. You can do this via Story missions and Daily missions which takes around 15 to 20 minutes. Make sure to disable ultimate animations if you're rerolling because this drastically speeds up the game. You can do this by going to the Three Vertical Lines Top Right > Settings > Battle Tab > Do Not Play Ultimate Move Full Animation.
  2. Banners to Spin On & Which Heroes to Get: You'll be stocked with a decent amount of resources to call via Team Level, Daily Missions, Story, and Codes (Found Below). Then, I recommend skipping the Iron Man Forge the Future banner and rolling on the other banner since this is where you'll have more Shadow Keys for more calls. Look for Heroes like Juggernaut for tanking, Doctor Strange for Controllers, Thor for Fighters, and Scarlet Witch to Strikers. Path to Legends can aslo get you a guaranteed S-Tier character after 40 calls. It really helps to get one of these heroes to start and it's worth Rerolling your account for them (See below).
  3. How to Reroll (Image Above): If you're not happy with what you got you can reroll your account and repeat the 15 to 20 minute grind to get to Level 10 again. Here's how:

    • Tap the three vertical lines in the top right.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Tap User in the lower left.
    • Go to the last tab on the left.
    • Tap Continue on Start a new game.

That's it for my Marvel Mystic Mayhem tier list and reroll guide. Don't forget to claim our Marvel Mystic Mayhem codes for free goodies.

Major Neci Rusalka with her signature Effervon pipe. She's sitting on what looks like a throne in Duviri, with ominous hands reaching out to grab her.

The landscapes of Duviri are colored by the golden glow of Kovnik. This beautiful plant sprouts in several places in the Void-infused horizon, which is good news for those looking to farm it.

Kovnik is among Duviri's most common resources, used for crafting a slew of items and Warframes related to that destination. Kullervo and Oraxia's parts require some of it, and you might also need to hunt some down if you'd like to add an Incarnon Adapter to a weapon or two. Here's where you can find Kovnik and our favorite spots for farming it in Warframe.

How to get Kovnik in Warframe

The Drifter spots a Kovnik plant, glowing yellow, amid the King's Palace in Duviri.
The King's Palace can be a good spot to farm this plant. Screenshot by Destructoid

Kovnik is plentiful in Duviri, so it's not hard to find it depending on where you spawn into the zone—especially if you're in the northern half of the map. Looking up close, the leaves have glowing bits, similar to a leopard's spots. Despite all the changing colors in each mood spiral, it's easy to see these plants from above, so searching from them from atop our Kaithe is our method of choice to find them. Don't venture too far below the map's southern hemisphere, though, or you might just lose sight of these plants. Here are some of our favorite spots to pick them.

Best Kovnik farm in Warframe

The Duviri map in Warframe. The Drifter stands on a spot between Royalstead Pastures and the Lunaro Court, almost at the halfway point between the two.
This part of the map has plenty of Kovnik up for grabs. Screenshot by Destructoid

Though you can get Kovnik fairly easily in Warframe, we've found a few spots that are better to farm. The piece of land between Royalstead Pastures and the Lunaro Court in particular has five nodes within sight of each other as you ride your Kaithe.

King's Palace, Northwind Village, Farbreeze Hamlet, Royalstead Pastures, Primrose Village, and their surroundings can all have plenty of Kovnik, which are easy to spot from above your spectral horse. We've had better luck sticking around to the northern part of the map, where you can also find some Silphsela (such as in Upperhaven).

Isleweaver content takes place around the King's Palace, so you can also grab some Kovnik there as you're farming for Oraxia in Warframe. You might get a good run with gathering those plants from there, completing a decree, and leaving, though we lean toward farming solo in the full Duviri Experience mode since the scenic route also allows you to grab other resources.

All in all, farming Kovnik shouldn't be too difficult considering how much it dominates the Duviri landscape. Regardless of your method of choice, the game saves your progress every time you obtain a new, veiled decree, so complete any objective before leaving to maximize your loot.

Silphsela is one of Duviri's most beautiful resources, and it's just as elusive as it is gorgeous. This Sunflower-esque plant only sprouts in a handful of locations, so farming it can be a bit of a pain.

Odds are you've encountered this resource, though it's not used too often in Warframe. Normally, it's only required for a few Duviri-adjacent blueprints, but it's always worth harvesting these plants whenever you're in Duviri. Here's where to find Silphsela and our favorite farming spots for it.

How to get Silphsela in Warframe

A Drifter stands in front of a sunflower-esque plant called Silphsela in Duviri. The flower resonates and shines in the same color as the environment.
Beautiful, but sneaky. Screenshot by Destructoid

Silphsela is a bit on the rarer side of Duviri resources, somewhere between Tasoma Extract and Kovnik. The sunflower-like plants are easy to spot from above; they're just not too plentiful.

One upside of farming Silphsela, however, is its unique behavior: Silphsela leaves float onto the sky, making the plant easy to spot. You should pick them up on your Kaithe as you fly by, since the leaves also award you with this resource.

Silphsela doesn't appear as often, so you must know where to look if you'd like to farm it. We've picked our best spots and tactics to farm Silphsela in Warframe so you can grab these plants more efficiently.

Best Silphsela farm in Warframe

A Drifter mounted on a Kaithe overlooks a Silphsela plant, with several petals floating above it.
The petals are a dead giveaway. Screenshot by Destructoid

We've found some Silphsela by Primrose Village and its surroundings, plus in Upperhaven and the Royalstead Pastures. They're mostly spread around the left part of the map. You might have to take a few runs depending on how many you need, though, since there aren't so many of these plants around. Whenever you spot a Silphsela plant, look above it to see if leaves are floating above you. Make sure to grab them before moving on to the next destination.

If you're also looking to farm Kovnik, it's probably worth stopping at the King's Palace, though the few Silphsela plants are usually accompanied by their common cousin. We recommend chasing these plants in a solo version of the Duviri Experience, since there are fewer variables interfering with your search.

Getting a Bountiful Harvest decree early on lets you double up on Duviri resources, including Silphsela. If you find this on your journey, rush to look for any resources you might be after. And if you truly need it, it may be worth shelling out for a Resource Booster.

Promotional art for Warframe`s Duviri Paradox, which shows Dominus Thrax and the cast of the expansion.

Duviri, Warframe's fantasy paradise/nightmare, is home to a wealth of ingredients, but Tasoma Extract is a bit more hidden than the others. This rare resource is only available in certain parts of Duviri, so you might have to look around a bit to find it.

Tasoma Extract is used in a series of recipes related to Duviri, including parts for Oraxia and Kullervo, plus certain Incarnon Geneses. Here's where you can find this resource in Warframe.

How to get Tasoma Extract in Warframe

Tasoma Extract, an odd resource that grows inside caves in Duviri.
This is what a regular Tasoma looks like. Screenshot by Destructoid

Tasoma Extract is available inside caves in Duviri. It only drops in small amounts, though it appears in any of the region's mood spirals and in Isleweaver (though Rusalka's activity has far less ground to cover). If you're floating around the oneiric landscape, beeline to the nearest cave and look carefully for these plants.

Tasoma plants have some eye-like protrusions and tentacle-esque appendages, lending them a slightly creepy look. It may be difficult to spot them in the darkness, so riding your Kaithe with the Smooth Path intrinsic (rank five) marks them on your minimap and makes them easier to find.

You need 75 Tasoma Extract to build Oraxia's Systems, which is by no means a negligible amount. The load increases if you'd like to build other Duviri-related items, so here are some tips to farming this resource.

Best Tasoma Extract farm in Warframe

Major Neci Rusalka with her signature Effervon pipe. She's sitting on what looks like a throne in Duviri, with ominous hands reaching out to grab her.
Isleweaver gave players another reason to farm Tasoma Extract. Image via Digital Extremes

To gather large amounts of Tasoma Extract, we recommend diving into the full Duviri experience as a solo player and checking caves all over the map. The full experience gives you a slew of side objectives that may bring useful decrees, and as a solo player, you can take all the time you need.

When you're inside a cave, it's usually worth engaging with the Lost Item side objective. You'll be prowling the caves looking for Tasoma, so a free decree isn't bad. If you're lucky, you can obtain the Bountiful Harvest decree, which helps tremendously by doubling your pickups. If you have it, it may be worth also going after other Duviri resources such as Silphsela and Kovnik.

In our experience, the cave at Fort Wyrmsoul can house multiple nodes of Tasoma Extract, making it a good stop in your explorations. The game saves your rewards upon earning a decree, so complete any objective after you're done and leave to bring all your plants home. [...]

If you're doing Isleweaver content, it's worth grabbing the Tasoma Extracts in the caves whenever you get the chance. It's also possible to farm them in the new Duviri activity, though we haven't compared which method gets you best results. Since you start in the King's Palace, drop down to the cave, grab Tasomas, finish the first objective, and quit. Mario Kart World Daisy jetski

Nintendo has just released the latest patch notes for Mario Kart World, and before we dive into why one of the changes is so bad that it might put racers off VS. races altogether, let me quickly summarize what the patch includes.

Mario Kart World - Ver. 1.1.2 patch notes

General

  • Adjusted courses selected in "Random" when selecting next course in a wireless "VS Race."

Fixed Issues

  • Made readjustments to fix an issue where rate fluctuations were sometimes displayed incorrectly in "Online Play" and "Knockout Tour."
  • Fixed an issue where you sometimes can't recover quickly after falling off the course in "Dino Dino Jungle".
  • Fixed an issue where you continually hit the wall near the finish line of "Boo Cinema" when transformed into Bullet Bill.

On the surface, it seems like a pretty standard patch notes, until you dig deeper into what "adjusted courses" means. As discovered through a data mine, the random option that many players used in VS. Races to obtain a classic three-lap track has been modified to include intermission tracks, a type of track that many players were trying to avoid by selecting random.

Usually, when you go into a VS. Race lobby, you are greeted with three intermission tracks to pick from, where you drive from track to track, which a majority of online players do not like. Random was used as a way to get the classic Mario Kart experience, as you were given a single track where you'd complete a certain number of laps before moving onto the next one.

But for some reason, Nintendo has removed the option, and when you pick random now, you will get a chance of getting either a normal racing experience or a different intermission track. And as you can imagine, fans are not pleased with this decision.

Most comments from fans are aghast at how Nintendo could make a decision to force players to play the game in a way they do not want, instead of providing different options for players who don't mind the intermission tracks, and those who want a classic Mario Kart experience.

Most fans are hopeful that over time, Nintendo will listen to disgruntled fans and add more options, but right now, fans feel like Nintendo is targeting them specifically with this patch to make fans play the game as Nintendo intended, instead of what fans want.
