New zombie simulation game Quarantine Zone continues to make a name for itself. Set during the very fall of civilization, it brings together the undead peril of Project Zomboid, the infection risk bringing that essential tension to the likes of Dying Light and The Walking Dead, and the checkpoint management of Papers, Please. Spurred by a colossal new one-million Steam wishlist milestone, developer Brigada Games now announces that it's partnered with publisher Devolver Digital, and confirms a new release window.

Hot off the announcement that Last Epoch developer Eleventh Hour Games is joining publisher Krafton to scale up its development of the excellent ARPG, the studio has given us a rundown of some of the additions we can expect from its imminent new season. Currently the strongest challenger to the mighty pairing of Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4, Last Epoch Season 3 will expand on its most underused era. It introduces a threatening Rift Beast to put your builds to the test, unleashes a pair of Acolyte reworks for its Lich and Necromancer subclasses, and makes improvements to minion balance, alongside some solid quality-of-life upgrades.

As terrifying as they can be when things go wrong, survival games such as Valheim, Once Human, and Sons of the Forest have an underlying goofiness to them that keeps things light. Project Zomboid is more oppressive, at times relentless in its pressure, while Escape From Tarkov threatens you with the ever-present fear of a bullet from the shadows. Of late, however, I've had a particular penchant for The Forever Winter. Its grimdark, future sci-fi world is an unforgiving, hostile place as you claw for scraps in the shadow of giant mechs tearing the landscape apart for their respective megacorporations. Now, Fun Dog's July update delivers a new broken cityscape to explore, along with its most horrifying foe to date.

Overseeing an ever-growing sprawl can be a highlight of city-building games, but the truly memorable moments in everything from Cities Skylines to Frostpunk come from having to build within tight restrictions. It's this concept that new city builder The King is Watching is founded upon, dramatically limiting the space you have to work with at any moment and forcing you to make tough decisions about what to prioritize. Ironically, this formula has proved so popular that the new indie game just won't stop growing on Steam, and developer Hypnohead says there's more to come.

The Sniper Elite Game Bundle has just dropped over on Humble, and you can get the set of mainline games for as little as $14 / £10.47, including the latest mainline installment, Sniper Elite 5. Set in France during WW2, Sniper Elite 5 offers hours of sneaky-sneaky, Nazi-peeky, scope-squeaky sharpshooting. With larger maps and even more missions, this is one not to be missed, and the rest of the series offers similarly great action.

Elite Dangerous is a space simulator that's been around for over a decade now, and the Elite Dangerous system requirements are a perfect reflection of the game's age. That said, the graphical quality is by no means dated, and even compares favorably to modern sci-fi games like No Man's Sky.

Elite Dangerous doesn't demand anything special when it comes to hardware, even as of the latest Trailblazers update. If you can already run another of the best space games on Steam, namely the Eve Online system requirements, you'll have no issues getting Elite Dangerous to run, even if you don't have the best graphics card from our buying guide. However, before you can chart your own course through the Milky Way, you'll need to decide if you'll do so with or without the Elite Dangerous Odyssey expansion, which drastically updates the game's base system requirements.

If there's one thing Paradox Interactive does well, it's grand strategy games. Getting into the game with the Hearts of Iron 4 system requirements is the easy bit, but coming to grips with the game's intricacies and steep learning curve, however, is a whole other kettle of World War 2 fish.

In order to get Hearts of Iron 4 running on your PC or laptop, you won't actually need the best gaming PC from our buying guide. In fact, you could probably build a PC that's HOI4-ready for less money than the game and all of its expansions cost combined. If you're new to the game, it's always worth keeping an eye out for the latest discounts and checking out which Hearts of Iron 4 DLC suits your tastes first. Otherwise, if budget is a concern, you can expand the vanilla experience with the best Hearts of Iron 4 mods if you want more than the vanilla experience.

What pressure! As I mentioned last week, this is my last ever Sunday Papers as I'm leaving Rock Paper Shotgun (and Gamer Network) this coming Wednesday. I'm not sure how to meaningfully summarise twelve years on this site or twenty years in the field, but after several aborted essays I rediscovered the columnist's crutch: bullet points.

You'll have to forgive the indulgence, because I present here just some of the values - and the personal taste, clearly - that I've tried to express through the site during my time here. Many of the values were instilled in me by my excellent colleagues (particularly the unimpeachable Alice O), and I only hope I lived by them more often than not.

Two Point Museum Fantasy Finds Leans Into Whimsy

Two Point Museum is an amazing game that sometimes feels a bit more involved and interactive than previous entries in the series due to the nature of exhibits and the process of running your establishment. If its add-ons just added more expeditions and exhibits, I feel like that would have been enough. However, the Fantasy Finds DLC for Two Point Museum does more than that by also embracing the otherworldly, fantasy, and D&D sort of theme by also changing up gameplay a bit.

To start, getting into Fantasy Finds in Two Point Museum is easy, as the DLC is probably already unlocked if you already owned and played the game before grabbing it. You need to finish Memento Mile, basically the tutorial and Prehistory museum experience. If you did that, then Scorched Earth will be open and accessible. This lets you head to the new world, check out the new expeditions, hire the new Fantasy Experts, and get new exhibits that reference monsters, equipment, treasures, Dwarven creations, and experiences.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbHzK01-F6c

But it's the extra elements that help make it feel a bit more realized. Like Two Point Studios and Sega really are trying to acknowledge the whimsical elements. The nature of the expeditions and story is a start. When we're going through the story, we're actually going through the Scorched Earth area. The lack of a new actual museum is a bit disappointing, since it means you need to just add what you get as a new area of an existing one. However, I do appreciate the effort to make it feel like a journey.

Especially since the new Fantasy Experts embrace that example too. In the traditional, base game, we do hire folks based on the roles they can play and their expertise. Here they are Fantasy Experts, but they are even more specialized by being say a Barbarian, Bard, Rogue, or Wizard. Their stats affect expeditions, and your party might need one of them or some of them and existing role types. The Mythical Gear also playing a part and acting as equipment, instead of just exhibits, is also a great salute to the fact these are "legendary" items, but practical pieces too.

While the nature of it does mean adding the new exhibits to existing museums, I do like that they don't feel all that out of place. There's already a salute to otherworldly elements with the existing Supernatural sections. The Fantasy items can fit in with those. I also feel like some of the Dwarven Devices could almost work when displayed alongside both the Supernatural Cursed Objects and Science Custom Contraptions.

Two Point Museum is a fantastic, museum management simulation, and Fantasy Finds is a fun themed DLC that really leans into the more silly and absurd aspects. However, it's done so in a very serious manner that treats the idea of heading into these types of supernatural and otherworldly topics with the same care as other exhibits. It also doesn't take too long to unlock, while also incorporating some new concepts such as going through Scorched Earth and preparing Fantasy Experts teams. I really appreciate the execution and care put into it to make it stand out from other types of exhibits and elements.

Two Point Museum is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Fantasy Finds DLC is out now.
