The promised Kirby Air Riders reveal is here, as the Nintendo Direct dedicated to it just aired on YouTube and shared a release date for the Switch 2 game. We'll see it on November 20, 2025. Masahiro Sakurai, who created the original game, appeared as the host. He also explained Nintendo Board Member Shinya Takahashi and HAL Head Satoshi Mitsuhara both asked for the game to be made. So Sora and Bandai Namco are working on it together.
Just like the original Kirby Air Ride on the GameCube, Kirby Air Riders is going to be a racing game. However, it won't play like Mario Kart World, which was the Switch 2 launch game. Unlike the original, Kirby, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Chef Kawasaki, Cappy, Magolor, Gooey, Waddle Doo, Knuckle Joe, Susie, Starman, and Waddle Dee are all among the riders who will show up on the vehicles in this entry. Each one has different traits. So do the Air Ride Machines they ride on.
As for gameplay, Masahiro Sakurai even joked about the similarities between the Kirby Air Ride series and Mario Kart, but then was told to go ahead and work on the new Kirby Air Riders. Unlike Mario Kart, the vehicles automatically constantly go forward. You just need to move left and right and use the one-button Boost Charge to control speed or brake. This means drifting becomes important for taking turns. You can tilt the machine toward you to rise or press down to dive after going over a ramp. Y also acts as a Special Charge button, which lets you use a Special Move. Each rider has one, though Kirby does have four. Each one can use Copy Abilities, however.
The different modes were confirmed too. Lessons teach you how to play. These are divided into Basics, City Trial, Copy Basics, and Advanced. In a regular race, you see the track first, so you can choose your rider and vehicle based on that. Air Ride is the standard race mode, with up to six riders racing. Game Tempo, VS Format, the ability to destroy machines, and other elements of a race can be adjusted. City Trial will be back too. This is the mode in which you explore a sandbox style map to find a Vehicle and power ups for a race. Skyah is the name of the floating island, with different biomes around it. After five minutes, everything you collected will be used when you go to a Stadium to compete in racing experiences. Short Race and Dust Up Derby events can also happen while gathering. Bosses like Kracko and Dyna Blade can appear too. 16 people can play City Trial at once online, and both online and local wireless are supported. Local only supports eight players, however. It can be played solo with NPC players as well.

When Groove Coaster Wai Wai Partyappeared on the Switch back in 2019, I fell in love. It's a fantastic game with a large library of songs and enthralling gameplay. The loading time to get into it is a bit much, but it is worth it. When Groove Coaster Future Performers turned out to be a worldwide release at the end of July 2025, I couldn't wait to play. A new entry seemed exciting, and I felt like I needed to review it. Except… I can't. That's because Groove Coaster Future Performers isn't a complete game yet, the track listing can feel small, and it seems like the background video for one track uses undisclosed AI-generated images.
First, let's get to the part about Groove Coaster Future Performers being unfinished. The eShop listing and official site mention 50 songs. You do need to go through the campaign to unlock about 20, from what I've seen. This means it can feel really limiting when you first jump into it, especially since the story mode isn't executed very well. The tracks in both campaigns repeat very often, so I found what is there starts to wear on you. According to the roadmap released in a stream in July 2025, the free updates don't start until October 2025. So one in October 2025, another in December 2025, then in February 2025, and so on. Which means there's some time until more free songs start to appear.
But remember how I mentioned the campaign? There is a story mode about teenage Groovers Kakeru and Aria. These are fine, and I honestly appreciate the attempt to make Groove Coaster-ing seem like a plausible, competitive sort of event. When you get the game, you're essentially only getting Kakeru's full story. When you finish the fourth chapter of Aria's, you get hit with a "to be continued: update pending" message instead of getting to continue on to chapter five.
The actual gameplay is honestly what'd expect from Groove Coaster, for the most part. Each song has four difficulty options ranging from Easy to Master. Inputs involve hitting face and directional buttons for the white inputs and hold notes and shoulder triggers for the green squares. Advanced Mode makes it more difficult, with some notes assigned to left and right side inputs. Everything is played in full-screen horizontal display. The Challenge and multiplayer modes from Groove Coaster Wai Wai Party are gone now, as are the ad-lib notes. Some tracks aren't the full song, which is something to keep in mind, such as with "Bow and Arrow" from the anime Medalist.
Speaking of that track, what's unfortunate is that I think Groove Coaster Future Performers appears to use AI for image generation for the background movies for at least one song. When going through "Bow and Arrow," ice skates appear in the background. However, when I went through on the Normal difficulty, I realized it didn't look right. When playing the song again on Easy so I could pay closer attention and take better screenshots since video capture isn't allowed, I saw the telltale sign in the laces. The background video for that song isn't great, which is disappointing since I do like the track a lot. The fact that there are a few backgrounds that don't seem as impressive or vibrant as the previous entry make me wonder if I should be suspicious of them as well.
At the moment, Groove Coaster Future Performers is disappointing, especially when compared to the incredible Groove Coaster Wai Wai Party. The story mode is repetitive and unfinished. The number of songs you need to unlock mean you're limited unless you dedicate yourself to going through the campaign stages that are present. Also, the fact that one song seems to use AI generated images in the video is making me wonder if I need to go back and double check other tracks to count characters' fingers and see if similar things are happening. There's a demo now, which is good for people who want to give it a try, but I would recommend sticking to the previous release.

One of the most important tasks in Madden 26's Franchise mode is upgrading your coaches by unlocking fresh abilities, which you can do with skill points.
Every coach has a unique ability tree that provides several skills to invest in. Most of these will be locked as you first start your Franchise mode. As you progress, you'll get skill points to use to unlock these skills.

How to obtain skill points in Madden 26?
Skill points are easy to find as you play Franchise mode. You can find them in the "Manage Staff" section at the top of the screen. It's easy to differentiate them based on their bright green color.
Before you start a fresh game, you can pick between different objectives.
For example, your Head Coach might have an objective that requires you to gain 100+ yards in your next game. Similarly, your Offensive Coordinator might ask you to get at least four sacks against your upcoming opponents. While completing a game could get you skill points, it's best to concentrate on these individual tasks.
While the process can feel slow initially, it will speed up. Soon, you'll get a steady stream of skill points to upgrade your coach and other staff members. You'll have to be selective when unlocking and upgrading the skills, as you can't distribute them evenly. There's a finite amount of skill points that you can earn, so wasting them will set you back.
How to upgrade staff skills in Madden 26?
Open the skill tree of a staff after you have accumulated enough points. Select a skill you want to unlock, and exchange the required skill points. Once unlocked, the skill will show up in the respective color of the active tier.
Specific skills can be upgraded further to enhance their in-game effects, allowing you to get better performances from those coaches. If you need more skill points, continue to complete more games, and pay attention to matchday goals.
