Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, October 3, 2025 6:36 AM ![]() The modders behind a Baldur's Gate 3 custom campaign dubbed Path to Menzoberranzan have put out their first progress update in a few months, having gone silent just after getting their first build working around June. The reason for that quiet spell, according to the group, has been a "wild" summer in which they've had to revamp their development pipeline to better fit the scale they're aiming for with the mod. They've also teased full reveals of three characters who'll be playing roles in what the Path to Menzoberranzan team have thus far pitched as a custom adventure through some returning locations from previous games in the series to the Drow city that serves as the mod's namesake. |

Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Friday, October 3, 2025 5:02 AM ![]() Borderlands 4's first round of vault hunter balancing tweaks has arrived, with Gearbox having waited until they'd had a chance to try getting some of the looter shooter's technical gremlins under control and observed the state of play balance-wise before whipping out the ol' nerf/buff cannon. That approach has meant some arguably overpowered early builds haven't been coded out of existence as quickly as players might have imagined, with the developers seeming keen to avoid knee-jerk reactions when it comes to vault hunter changes in particular. I assume the fact they've had a DLC robo-cowboy to help keep post-happy exec Randy Pitchford occupied has probably helped maintain that lack of sudden and potentially ill-fated moves. |

Bilibili in China will make merchandise based on Kazutaka Kodaka, who's best known for his work on games like the Danganronpa series and The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. In a tweet he made announcing this, he said that he's sure this news will confuse people, but he assured them that he's the most confused by it.
Kodaka posted the news on his social media account, striking a dynamic post next to the Bilibili Goods logo. The Too Kyo Games and Denmu logos also appear in the picture. So far, there's no information on his account or other sites about what kinds of goods merchandise will release based on Kazutaka Kodaka, or when to expect them. It's also unclear if they'll be available on storefronts like Amiami, which would make them easily available for an international audience to purchase.
Kazutaka Kodaka is a video game director and writer who worked at Spike (later Spike Chunsoft) until he founded Too Kyo Games in 2017. His work on Danganronpa put him on the map. Later on, he also became known for his work on Master Detective Archives: Rain Code, Tribe Nine, and The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-. Kodaka's popularity on Bilibili could stem from the QAs about his QAs for The Hundred Line, which allowed fans the opportunity to communicate with him in a more casual setting without having to wait until an event.
More information about the Kazutaka Kodaka Bilibili merchandise will come out at a later date. The most recent game Kodaka worked on, Shuten Order, is available on the Nintendo Switch and Windows PC.

When it comes to game remasters, we reached a point at which making the game accessible on new platforms sort of feels like it isn't enough anymore. Not when we have Square Enix out here giving us Classic and Enchanced versions of Final Fantasy Tactics in one release and with Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Nintendo and Monolith added quality of life changes, new characters, and post-game content. Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 swooping in with improved visuals, extra Storybook segments, and Assist Mode on the Switch and Switch 2 is nice and very appreciated. These are still fantastic platformers. I love playing through them again! I just wish there was a bit more to Nintendo's updates of them both.
While Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a sequel to Super Mario Galaxy, it's also something of a retelling. As such, the general concept and story shares many of the same beats. The Star Festival happens every 100 years in the Mushroom Kingdom and, in both games, Princess Peach invited Mario to the celebration. As Star Bits rain down, Bowser appears to ruin everything and perform his usual kidnapping. While the circumstances of how Mario heads out into the galaxy to travel and work alongside Lumas to regain the Grand Stars and assist both Rosalina and Peach, the general end goal and result is the same. While there's a little extra embellishment in some ways in Super Mario Galaxy 2, admittedly I have a soft spot for the first story.
As part of the story embellishment for this remaster, Nintendo added additional Storybook Chapters. It is a nice touch, and I appreciate it. Especially since these games mark Rosalina's debut in the series. I won't get into spoilers, but I felt the newly added segments fit in well! It's a nice reward. But then, maybe part of why I appreciated it is because it is one of the really new elements there.
Both Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 are platformers that play around with perspective. Instead of a straightforward 2D, 2.5, or even 3D levels in a straightforward space ahead of us, we need to take into account what happens when we're walking sideways along surfaces, upside down, or moving within gravitational fields of additional planets or elements that could sway our movement. So a pipe will take us to the other side of a planet. There could be a black hole in the center of a landmass that we'll fall into if we mistime a jump. When going between surfaces, we might need to be launched by transformed Lumas or arrange our jumps so Mario will flip to land on the other space. In practice, it's absolutely brilliant. Both games play around with perspective in innovative ways. They also feature returning power-ups, like the Fire Flower, alongside new transformation such as the flying Bee Mario option or Boo Mario for getting through certain areas. The sequel adds to this with power ups like Cloud Flower and Rock Mushroom, as well as adding Yoshi as a possible mount and giving him special abilities.

![]()
What's great about the remaster is yes, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 both generally look good on the Switch! They're responsive and generally character models and environments look pretty great. The thing is, some textures for some areas seem less detailed as a result. Ground and wall textures might seem a little more bland compared to the original Wii releases. It might be me, but it almost seemed more noticeable in the original game than in the sequel. Since many levels and situations involve a lot of frantic movements and thoughtful jumping, it might not be noticeable unless you really stop and look.
Another oddity I noticed between Super Mario Galaxy and the sequel is that the motion controls felt more obnoxious in the first game on the Switch than in the second. When playing, gyroscopic functions kick in that shift the camera view and can be used for collecting Star Bits, and I found it felt less comfortable in handheld mode since I needed to constantly be resetting the positioning with the trigger. I couldn't turn the feature off and just use touch screen collection for Star Bits instead. (Which is a shame, as that worked much better.) You can use standard controls for moves like Mario's spins, launching with stars, or turning invisible as a Boo, which helps. And the touchscreen controls for Star Bit collection and firing is fantastic.

![]()
The last major addition is Assist Mode. This is an optional feature designed to offer people extra health and a hand in case they fall off a planet. The former doubles the amount Mario has to six. It's not a huge jump, but I feel like it'd be a good cushion for people as they get accustomed to the shifts in perspective present here. The latter is also the kind of assist that feels geared toward getting used to the way the games work. These don't make the game easier. They don't handhold players. I feel like they're a respectful take on guiding people through their first steps with both games and appreciate the option for those getting acclimated.
The Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 remaster duo give Switch owners a chance to experience two really great games in the series. Both are still wonderful platforms that do some really fun and fantastic things when it comes to level design and playing around with gravity. However, I will say they are a bit disappointing when compared to both other companies' recent remasters and Nintendo's own endeavors. Plus, I do think the visual improvements and handling of the motion controls/touchscreen components are better in the second game than the first. I definitely say they are worth picking up if you never experienced either game before.
Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 are available for the Switch and playable on the Switch 2.

Digimon Story Time Stranger has a unique Personality system, and mastering it will help you rapidly improve your party members.
We first got a taste of the system when the demo for the game went live. While the core system stays the same, the scope has undoubtedly increased with the full version of Digimon Story Time Stranger. This guide will help you master all the nuances of the Personality system.
Table of contents
How does Personality work in Digimon Story Time Stranger
When you encounter a Digimon for the first time, you can scan and convert it. Once done, you'll notice that they come with particular behavioral traits, which are essentially their Personalities. There are 16 Personalities at the time of writing (Oct. 3), which can be classified into four categories.
Every Personality type (the quadrants) has its own stat modifiers, and the same applies to the 16 individual Personalities.
![]()
All Personality stat growth boosts in Digimon Stories Time Stranger
The table below contains all stat boosts applicable to the quadrants and the Personality sub-types.
There are no negative modifiers with Personalities, which is a great feature. A Digimon with Brave will have bonuses in the ATK (from Valor) and SPD stats (from the sub-group) and so on.
There are 32 Personality Skills, and every Digimon can have one at most. Your Digimon will get the chance to learn when there is a change in their Personality sub-types. If your pal has already learnt a skill, you can swap it.
![]()
How to change the Personality trait in Digimon Stories Time Stranger
There are two ways to change the Personality of your Digimon if you're unhappy with the current selection.
Speak with your Digimon
Every four battles allow you to speak with your active Digimon. A dialogue option will present you with one of the four quadrants. This will reduce once you have made the first selection. Before you decide, you can check the existing trait. You can then use the quadrant to make a new selection and change the Personality Skills.
Digifarm
Certain items allow you to train your Digimon in the Digimfarm, allowing them to change their Personality. The training requires time, but you can skip that by spending in-game currency.

Something supernatural and strange is going on in the village, and it's up to you and Lumiere to get to the bottom of it in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Unraveling this mystery begins in the Here, There, Everywhere quest.
Lumiere's level four friendship quest has you searching for a mysterious Here and There Spirit that seems to be causing chaos in the village. It can be a tricky mission to get done, so here's a complete quest walkthrough for the Here, There, and Everywhere quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Table of contents
How to complete Here, There, and Everywhere in Disney Dreamlight Valley
![]()
To finish Here, There, and Everywhere, you need to investigate what previously happened at Tiana's Palace in the At Your Service quest and learn more about the mysterious spirit that seems to be plaguing the valley. This quest is focused on a mystery, which means there are some decently tricky parts to it, so here's a full breakdown of how to get all steps done.
Talk to villagers about Tiana's Palace
Both you and Lumiere suspect that the reason Tiana's Palace has been losing customers is because of the haunting that happened the last time you were there, but the only way to know for sure is to talk to villagers about the restaurant. Track down Minnie Mouse and the Beast to see what they think of the establishment.
Investigate alongside Lumiere
![]()
Something strange is definitely going on, so your next task is to look into it with Lumiere. You need to look for five ghostly clues in both Remy's and Tiana's restaurants. In both establishments, you'll find glowing blue items you can pick up off the floor. I found two Supernatural Stick Piles in Chez Remy and one Supernatural Stick Pile, one Mysterious Tablet, and one Haunted Blueberries at Tiana's Palace.
Once you have all five items, talk to Lumiere about what you found. Neither of you is sure what's going on, but Lumiere thinks supernatural expert Jack Skellington might be able to help, so find and chat with him next.
Find the spell materials for Jack Skellington
Jack has a spell that might help, but before you can cast it, you need to gather some spell materials.
Once you have all of the materials in your inventory, head back to Tiana's Palace and talk to Jack to give them to him. He applies the spell to your Masquerade Mask, allowing you to see if the strange events are related to the Here and There. Put on the mask to start searching.
![]()
Investigate and remove the Here and There tracks in Tiana's Palace
Find and remove five sets of glowing blue pawprints around Tiana's Palace, which are the strange Here and There tracks you can now see thanks to Jack's spell. These tracks lead into the kitchen, where you'll find a glowing burrow. Remove this item the same way you did the tracks, and the spirit inside will flee the restaurant.
Follow the spirit trail outside of Tiana's Palace
Follow the tracks to the exit of Tiana's Palace and head outside to look for the spirit. Unfortunately, you've lost the strange ghost, so chat with Lumiere to regroup. Talking to him this time ends the Here, There, and Everywhere quest, so you need to keep building your friendship with him to unlock the next mission that continues this storyline.
If you're looking for a break from Lumiere's quests, you might switch over to tackling Cogsworth's next. He's got plenty of missions for you to tackle, including Running Like Clockwork and On Her Majesty's Festive Service.

The Sun and Moon Breathing movesets are the most powerful ones in Weak Legacy 2 for both PVE and PVP. In return they're really hard to get so I'm here to give you a full walkthrough on both. Here's how to get Sun and Moon Breathing V2 in Weak Legacy 2.
Table of contents
How to Get Sun Breathing in Weak Legacy 2
You can get Sun Breathing from Yoriichi in Weak Legacy 2 who is on top of a mountain/hill right outside of the spawn Starting Village. Climb up the hill in front of the game where you'll find Kokushibo and continue past him without falling down to Yoriichi. To get Sun Breathing V1 you'll need:
The first two you need to farm via quests and then Final Selection but the Sun Soul you need to get via Tanjiro Boss Raid raid in Slayer HQ. Here's how.
How to Get Sun Soul
You need to go to the Slayer HQ village which is left from the Starting Village by following the main road. Don't go too far left into the Little Village but continue past it to get to Slayer HQ and talk to Tanjiro for the Boss Raid. This Raid is best done around Level 50 to 100+ or more solo and it drops the Sun Soul item needed for Sun Breathing V1. Make sure to have the Sun Soul equipped when talking to Yoriichi to buy Sun Breathing.
How to Get Sun V2 in Weak Legacy 2
For Sun V2 you also just talk to Yoriichi and you must have these requirements:
Once you have all the prerequisites and you talk to Yoriichi you have to fight him. For the fight, I highly recommend you be Level 600 to 650+ for soloing, preferably more, since he has 100k HP so it will take a long time. You should repeat the cycle of charging your Breathing, spamming all the Sun V1 moves with M1 comboes and then retreat. It helps if you have the Sun V1 final move from Tanjiro raid. He will drop aggro if you retreat where you can fill your Breathing back up and then go in again. Repeat this until he's dead and you'll get Sun Breathing V2.
How to Get Moon Breathing in Weak Legacy 2
You get Moon Breathing from Kokushibo who is on top of the hill/mountain right in front of the Starting Village spawn gate. Once you climb it he's a little to the left on the cliff edge beneath a tree. You'll need the following requirements for Moon Breathing:
The first two prerequisites are just done by grinding quests, Final Selection and raids. For Sun Breathing V2 you can check our tutorial above. And finally you'll need Moon Soul which is a drop from the Kokushibo boss which you can read about below.
How to Get Moon Soul
You get Moon Soul from the Kokushibo world boss as a 53.5% drop so roughly one in two Kokushibo fights will drop it. The Kokushibo boss spawns in the area right before the Snow biome/Snow Village. You can find it by going toward the Snow Village which is to the right as you exit the Starting Village original spawn gate. Just before you reach the Snow area go left as in the picture into a small alcove area and you'll reach Kokushibo at the end of it if he has spawned.
The Kokushibo boss is best done at Level 12000 to 1300+ and I highly recommend fighting him with multiple people since he's a world boss. Just keep rotating with others on who has aggro while the others recharge Breathing and spam him with moves then retreat. Defeat him for a chance to get Moon Soul and then speak to the Kokushibo trainer NPC to get Moon Breathing with the Moon Soul equipped.
How to Get Moon V2 in Weak Legacy 2
Once you have Moon Breathing V1 you can get Moon Breathing V2 in Weak Legacy 2 from the same Kokushibo trainer with a little grinding. Here are the prerequisites:
Now that you have all prerequisites, you talk to the Kokushibo trainer and you must defeat him as a boss fight. The fight is similar to the Yoriichi fight and you just need to spam M1s and Breathing moves and then retreat to de-aggro and recharge Breathing. I beat it at Level 1300 but I feel like I could have been lower and been just fine, especially with the last Moon V1 move. Kokushibo has 125k HP and once you defeat him you get Moon V2. It's the best PVE moveset in the game with massive AOE damage. You can get the last Moon V2 Crimson Lineage Impalement move from the Kokushibo world boss, aka, the same one you grinded for Moon Soul.
Weak Legacy 2 Sun and Moon Breathing FAQ
What's the fastest way to get Mastery for Sun and Moon Breathing? Kill the highest level bosses that you can whether it be from Raids or world bosses. What's the fastest way to grind Levels and Yen for Sun and Moon Breathing? Quests and bosses are the best way but you can also grind Final Selection and Tanjiro raid. What is better Sun V2 or Moon V2 in Weak Legacy 2? Moon has better DPS but the moves are harder to hit in PVP so Moon is better for PVE. Sun has less DPS than Moon overall but the moves are much better and faster for PVP. Do you need the Tsugikuni clan for Moon and Kamado clan for Sun? You only need these clans for the V2 versions, not for the V1. Do you need the last moves from V1 movesets to be able to get Sun and Moon V2s? No, you do not need the last moves from the V1 versions to get Sun or Moon V2.

Cogsworth is struggling to adjust to a slow-paced life in the village in Disney Dreamlight Valley. He's missing working with a royal, so you suggest he see if Queen Anna of Arendelle needs anything in the On Her Majesty's Festive Service quest.
Like most quests, this one comes with some tricky tasks that can make it a bit of a tough one to work through. If you're struggling to get it done, here's a complete quest walkthrough for the On Her Majesty's Festive Service quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Table of contents
How to complete On Her Majesty's Festive Service in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To complete the On Her Majesty's Festive Service quest, you need to introduce Cogsworth to Anna and help him set up an Arendellian Winter Carnival for her. It's a big event, which means there's a lot of work to get done, so here's a full breakdown of all key quest steps you need to tackle.
Talk to Anna
First off, you need to track down Anna around the village to properly introduce her to Cogsworth. She might be wandering around the valley, visiting the restaurant, shopping at Scrooge McDuck's, or relaxing in her icy palace, so check your map to see where she is. At Olaf's suggestion, Anna is willing to enlist some help in preparing a special Arendellian Winter Carnival event.
Place the Winter Carnival Banner
Your first official task is to place four Winter Carnival Banners around the valley. These banners must be placed at certain spots, including:

Next, you need to craft two pieces of furniture for the festival, including an Icy Armchair and a Snow Hut. If you don't have the materials to make them, you'll need to spend a bit of time gathering the right resources first. You need lots of Snowballs to make these items. Once you have everything you need, you can head to any crafting station and switch over to the Furniture tab to craft both assets.
Place both the Icy Armchair and the Snow Hut somewhere in the Frosted Heights biome once you're done crafting both items. Chat with Cogsworth once they're placed to plan what needs to be done next.
Check on Olaf inside Chez Remy
Cogsworth assigned Olaf to Hot Cocoa making duty, but since he's a snowman, things seem to have gone wrong. Head to Remy's restaurant to check in on Olaf and see what went wrong.

Serve clients in Chez Remy
The kitchen is an absolute mess, so while Cogsworth works on cleaning it up, you need to serve some hungry customers in Chez Remy. Cook and deliver three requested meals to villagers seated at tables. Chat with Cogsworth once you're done.
Place the Frozen Hot Cocoa Counter in the Frosted Heights to start the carnival
It's finally time for the festival to begin, so head over to the Frosted Heights biome and place the Frozen Hot Cocoa Counter down to get things started. Before you do, there's also an optional objective to chat with Olaf to hear some fun winter facts. You don't have to finish this task, but Olaf has some fun goofy goodness to share as usual, so I highly recommend consulting with him first.

Talk to Anna once you're done snapping photos of the festival. Then, chat with Cogsworth one more time to officially conclude the On Her Majesty's Festive Service quest. There's still plenty more to get done around the village, like working through Lumiere's At Your Service quest or learning how to change the Dream Castle skin.

EA Sports quickly released the second major patch for FC 26 in October, and update 1.0.3 introduces significant gameplay changes across all platforms.
The new update is live on PCs and consoles (current-gen) and includes many changes. EA Sports has already announced that they're looking to release a new patch in October. If you have yet to test the update, this guide will explain what to expect.
Complete FC 26 Update 1.0.3 patch notes
The list of gameplay changes for patch 1.0.3 is smaller than the first Title Update. However, it fixes the poor defensive positioning during kickoffs, which has been a significant cause of concern. The new update makes it significantly more challenging to crack open the opposition defense, but only after a kickoff.
Gameplay
Many Ultimate Team users had to restart the game to redeem the Season 1 Premium Pass rewards. However, that problem disappeared after the update.
Ultimate Team
More bugs have also been fixed across Career mode, and you can expect better optimization if you're playing on PC.
Career Mode
General, Audio, and Visual
As the new update is live, it should download and install automatically on your applicable platform.

The progress you make in Black Ops 7 beta might not carry over to the full game, but you can still unlock some incredible rewards along the way for the future.
Activision has introduced a rewards campaign as part of the beta. If you have advanced access, you can start working to unlock all the available items. This guide will give you all the information you need to unlock every reward.
Table of contents
All Black Ops 7 beta rewards
The Black Ops 7 beta campaign has nine different rewards on offer. All the rewards can be unlocked by simply playing the game. Doing so will help you level up your profile and hit the required milestones.
It's unclear if we can reach Level 30 immediately in the first open beta. Last year, players could only reach Level 20 in the first open beta. They had to play the second open beta to go beyond that point. I am sitting on Level 12 (as of writing on Oct. 3), so I will need to test that part out.

Do the Black Ops 7 beta rewards carry over
Every reward you get by playing the beta will carry over. All your beta stats and progression will be reset when the full game launches. But every reward you unlock will be in your account in November.
You'll have to be careful about the account you use to play the beta. Ensure it's the same Call of Duty account before playing the beta you'll use with the full version (and on the same platform). This will ensure that all the unlocked rewards will be available in your in-game inventory upon full launch.
