Sundays are for getting your 10,000 steps in, apparently. I bring this up specifically because I've been crap at exercising recently and I need you, RPS readers, to shame me into doing it more, much as you did when I admitted on the podcast to rarely using sunscreen. I'm counting on you, everyone.

In exchange, here are some good writings, mostly about games, from the past week or so.

The 31st Consort Manga Relationship Is Surprisingly Healthy

I was worried about The 31st Consort when Yen Press first picked it up! It's a "get this character" hitched manga! It's setting up the idea of multiple rivals, since the heroine Felia is the 31st of 31 possible queens for King Macron! There were already hints of bullying from both palace officials and other love interests in the first few chapters! However, I'm delighted to report that the more heartwarming elements of the first volume weren't a fluke and the second volume also seems to suggest the actual relationship between Felia and Macron is not only somewhat normal, but even loving and healthy.

Editor's Note: There will be some minor spoilers for volume 2 of The 31st Consort below.

As a quick catch up, King Macron is single and, in order to find a bride and queen, the government and such basically dictated he needs to pick from a selection of consorts he'll meet on a regular basis. These are women from the country's noble families. 31 were chosen, and he'll visit each one for one day each month. Sometimes there are special events at which they all gather, the first of which comes up in this second volume. Felia is from a smaller and more rural province, and as such ended up being made the 31st consort.

Naturally, she's the one who he ended up actually liking, due to how genuine, hardworking, kind, and down-to-earth she is. She's also become a favorite of many in the palace, in particular his guards, due to her making food, gardening, and other resourcefulness.

In the first volume, we see the two developing an interest in each other! It's not love at first sight. Rather, he's genuinely curious about her and comes to appreciate her personality and the way she interacts with folks. Through his visits, she also sees he's not a typical noble or king and is as, well, normal as she is. There's a real appreciation and fondness, and that leaves off with him deciding she might be the one who is right for him and her actually wanting to be there and be picked instead of waiting out the process until she can go home.

With the second volume, we're seeing how that plays out further. As I mentioned, it marks the first instance in which a number of consorts will all appear at once together for an event. Macron knows he wants to take this as a chance to see Felia and spend time with her, especially since her being 31st means he might not even see her some months, so he gears it as a more casual affair involving tea. (Knowing she grows her own tea from herbs and brews it herself.) Seeing that consideration, to choose an event she'd be comfortable with and good at, is really heartwarming. So is his making a motion before it even starts to let authorities know she has his support and he has her back.

This comes up again fairly early in this book. A royal housekeeper has had it in for Felia since the process began due to her being more practical and personable. She's attempted to make her life more difficult as a result. He steps in and shuts that housekeeper down for Felia making friends and helping his guardsmen, again showing his support, while also giving the two a chance to meet and flirt a bit. Likewise, in both this instance and the one with the consort-wide tea party, he gives her a chance to shine and she gets a chance to make him feel more comfortable.

However, while the actual relationship between Felia and Macron is good and we do see her winning over almost everyone she meets (even some former enemies), that doesn't mean it's a 100% wholesome and kind story. The concerns I had before about the array of rivals and bullying do return again in this installment. It also leads to a potentially dangerous situation that's more threatening than ones in the first volume. I do appreciate King Macron's response to it, as well as how others handle it, but it does show the series will continue using that for drama and plot points.

Still, I do appreciate that The 31st Consort is more heartwarming and healthy than dark or dramatic, with both King Macron and Felia seeing like a potentially ideal couple. We do see feelings gradually develop between them in a healthy way. There are no sudden fixations or decisions to jump into a marriage. There's proper respect shown on each of their parts, not to mention admiration. It leaves the impression that, while there will be challenges, this is absolutely a power couple that will succeed and end up together.

Volume 2 of The 31st Consort is available now, and Yen Press will release volume 3 of the shojo manga on December 16, 2025.

Battlefield 6 Weapon and Vehicle progression explained

Just like your Career Ranks, vehicles, and weapons have Hardware Mastery XP to earn. When you perform any action with a weapon, it will grant you Career Rank XP and Hardware Mastery XP (specific to that weapon).

Ranking up your weapons will unlock different attachments that are specific to them. You can also unlock pre-built weapon packages that have pre-defined setups and cosmetics. Similarly, you'll get more customizable options for your vehicles that you can then equip from Loadout.

A sniper holding position in Battlefield 6.

Battlefield 6 has four different classes on offer, and you can customize them further with specs once you level up your account.

All four classes can be top choices if you spend the time to master their strengths and weaknesses. However, there's a competitive meta inside the game, and some classes will perform better, especially when you divide them based on their specs.

This guide will help you understand which classes are well-suited in the current meta of Battlefield 6.

Complete Battlefield 6 class tier list

The effectiveness of any class in Battlefield 6 depends heavily on your playstyle. You can pick an unpopular class and rock with them if you understand the basics well. I have used three tiers to separate the classes and their specs.

  • S-tier specs work well in every game mode and are also relatively beginner-friendly.
  • A-tier specs are very close to S-tier options, but they have slight weaknesses.
  • B-tier specs are average options unless you spend time to learn and overcoming their weaknesses.

Frontliner class in Battlefield 6

S-tier class

  • Frontliner (Assault): The Assault class is in a powerful position with the introduction of CBQ, and Frontliner is significantly better than Breacher. Its active ability, Rally Squad, injects all nearby squad members with a temporary Adrenaline that's amazing in close-quarters battles. Quick Recovery allows you to heal faster and better, while Adrenaline Rush will enable you to spread the effects of your Adrenaline Injector to your teammates. Pair with a good Support, and a good Frontliner can get you a high number of kills consistently.
  • Anti-Armor (Engineer): If you're playing any mode outside of CBQ, having Anti-Armor on your team is essential. Any damage you do to vehicles (of every kind) will reduce their repair effectiveness by 50% for 10 seconds. You get to enjoy 15% faster reload speeds on the launcher and get extra rockets. Without Anti-Armor, it's impossible to take down enemy vehicles and tanks, which can be a one-way ticket to defeat.
  • Combat Medic (Support): Playing a well-coordinated team with your friends requires a Combat Medic in every mode. You can use your Defib gadget to instant-revive allies when they're down. Doing so automatically heals you, which is a bonus. Your normal heals also happen significantly faster, and the class also makes it quicker for you to drag downed allies. The Combat Medic might not be a flashy spec, but it's necessary for every map and for every team. Otherwise, you'll be losing a lot of time dying and respawning on the map.

A-tier class

  • Sniper (Recon): The only reason for Sniper to be in A-tier is due to the difficulty in learning the advanced concepts of the class. Once you learn them, the Sniper is easily S-tier. If you headshot an enemy, they can't be revived. When you hit an enemy, it marks their position on the map, while the spec also offers Auto-Spotting over a longer distance. You can hit your enemies harder, better, and announce their position to your team. However, you'll have to ace the art of shooting, as a misfire could prove to be costly.
  • Combat Engineer (Engineer): Almost the antithesis of Anti-Armor, Combat Engineers allow you to preserve your vehicles better. Vehicle Regeneration is a fun ability that allows you to repair a vehicle by just sitting in it. Overheat Control allows your tanks and vehicles to fire longer, while repairing friendly gadgets makes them last longer with higher HP. A note: While Anti-Armor feels more powerful, Combat Engineer is a safer and more stable choice.
  • Fire Support (Support): It took me a couple of rounds to understand how underrated the Fire Support specialization feels. On paper, the class might look useless. However, the reality is quite different, as you can strap an LMG, mount yourself, and keep firing at the enemy to suppress the opposition frontline. You also get quicker ammo resupplies (applies to your teammates) and less incoming damage from explosions. If you want to play it safe and be a good team player, Fire Support is a fun choice.

B-tier class

  • Breacher (Assault): The Breacher isn't bad, especially on maps where the strategic entry points are few and far between. However, the abilities compared to Frontliner's are inferior. Agile Shooter works well in run-and-gun situations, but you might not always rely on that. Extra Grenades is a pretty insignificant modifier, while Unrelenting Reload's 15% faster reload for Incendiary-based Shotguns and projectile launchers is situational in use.
  • Spec Ops (Recon): Like Breacher, Spec Ops falls flat due to its abilities. Low Profile only works if you're proning all the time (which isn't possible in every situation). Spotting enemy gadgets near you can be helpful and allow you to prevent stepping on a mine, but the use-case scenario is niche. I didn't find too much use of Stealth Tactics either, so the Spec Ops specialization could do with a buff or two.
