Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth, whenever it is a damp, drizzly October in my soul, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can. Specifically, I dream of cruise liners. I've never been on an ocean cruise, but I've been on at least two North Sea ferries and in my mind, cruise ships are paradise.

They are places of luxury and possibly a few exotic murders - ocean-going adventurelands that perversely harbour swimming pools and waterslides. Imagine it, a boat with a pool. Such delicious unreason. Here to disabuse me of these visions is No More Robot's Cruise Control, which makes cruise ships look like hell.

Earlier this year, Palworld developer Pocketpair used its newfound success to start a publishing arm. This, I think, is generally a net good, even if I have some feelings about the studio as a whole, which we'll dig into shortly. Nobody has money in this industry except for the few who do, so when a few of the few who do decide to put some of that money into much smaller games, that is somewhat of a win. But heed this warning from Pocketpair's communications director and publishing manager John Buckley: they won't publish your game if you use generative AI.

The first level of PowerWash Simulator 2 is cleaning the moving van that just brought you to your fancy new office. 'We're not in Kansas anymore,' say developers FuturLab, as you take in the map wall where you can select levels in an expanded PowerWash world, the open warehouse space where you can place items of furniture you buy and clean. The second level is cleaning a state-of-the-art public toilet.

This is very funny. FuturLab are aware that they can't really move you that far; in terms of the metaphor we're probably in Colorado. That's okay. It and the game both have nice scenery. And despite me being glib, there are a host of small changes that add up to noticeable improvements. They're just probably only noticeable if you were already Washmaxxed and had over a hundred hours in the first game.

Meisho Doto Debuts as New Umamusume Character

Cygames added a new character to the pool of Umamusume: Pretty Derby Trainees, with Meisho Doto joining selection of Medium and Long runners for Turf races. Her featured banner is available until October 30, 2025, alongside a rerun banner for SSR Special Week and Tokai Teio Support Cards.

Meisho Doto is known more for her personality than her skills, stat spread, or potential for inheritances. She arrives as a three-star character. She specializes in Turf, and it's not really possible to get her into a place where she could be a Dirt runner since that aptitude starts at E. She's best at running Medium and Long races and isn't suited for Sprint or Mile ones. She's ideally used as a Pace Chaser, but she does start with a B in Late Surger. Her Unique Skill is called I Never Goof Up and can kick in when she's passing on a corner in the late race when she's in a Pace Chaser or Late Surger position. If you increase her potential levels, she can also pick up the Pace Chaser Skill Speed Star or get the stamina-restoring skill Indomitable.

Here's the new infographic showing what you can expect from Meisho Doto as an Umamusume: Pretty Derby Trainee character.

There's also an official Student Introduction video that shows her in-game and lets us hear her voice actress. Misaki Watada plays her. Watada also appeared in Atelier Ryza 2 as Fi, Bocchi the Rock as Futari Gotoh, Digimon Survive as Miu Shinonome, and Sakura Wars the Animation as Clara.

New Morinaga Chocoball Candy Features Sanrio Characters

Sanrio announced that the company's characters will appear on Morinaga Chocoball candy boxes alongside the company's mascot Kyorochan. Four varieties will be available. These are available in Japan now. It's unknown if we'll also see them in Asian grocery stores worldwide, bu Morinaga products can be found worldwide in-stores and on sites like Amazon and Japan Candy Store.

The four flavors that are part of this Sanrio Chocoball crossover involve three standard ones and a limited edition one, and there is a different character on each package. The flavor temporarily available is Hokkaido Milk, and Cinnamoroll is on that box. In each case, the one that appears wears a baseball cap that looks like Kyorochan's face and a red bowtie that matches the bird's.

Here's the full list of all four options:

  • Cinnamoroll is on the Hokkaido Milk Chocoball box.
  • My Melody is on the Strawberry Chocoball box.
  • Pochacco is on the Caramel Chocoball box.
  • Pompompurin is on the Peanut Chocoball box.

Here's the official art showing all four boxes and candies.

One of the last collaborations that involved Sanrio characters and candy was one with Fujiya. That featured six mascots holding chocolate lollipops that looked like them.

The Morinaga Chocoball boxes with Sanrio characters dressed as Kyorochan on them are available now in Japan, and it is unknown if we could see the collaboration candy in Asian grocery stores and online storefronts worldwide.

Astro Bot and Dual Speeder Chogokin Figure Announced

Bandai Namco and Sony announced a new Astro Bot Chogokin figure that will feature the tiny robot riding on the Dual Speeder spaceship. This came up both in a PlayStation Japan video and on the Bandai Spirits Tamashii Nations social media account. There's no release date for it yet. However, we should see it eventually worldwide since Bandai Namco does release Chogokin models and Tamashii Nations products globally.

This model will feature the Astro Bot in mid-flight. The Dual Speeder wings will be extended and thrusters in position. The robot itself will look like it is hanging on to the right analog stick with their right arm while waving with their left one. The base of the unit will have a chibi rendering of Astro Bot above the spaceship.

Here's the first photo showing the front and back of the figure:

You can see the Chogokin Astro Bot and Dual Speeder figure in the video below at the 14:22 mark. It comes up after a look at Once Upon a Katamari.

Pikmin 4 Update Adds Relaxed Mode, Decor Pikmin, Photo Mode

A major Pikmin 4 update will debut in November 2025, and it will add an easier Relaxed Mode, more challenging Fierce Mode, Decor Pikmin in costumes, and a Photo Mode in a patch. In addition, a matching update for Pikmin Bloom with Ice Pikmin will show up on November 1, 2025.

Nintendo went over all the new features in Pikmin 4 with a trailer that started with the Photo Mode, shared some Decor Pikmin, then highlighted unique traits of Relaxed and Fierce Modes. The Photo Mode is triggered by using the Field Camera when in a stage. Using it lets you set up a picture, add stamps of characters and effects, then include a frame. Decor Pikmin are versions of characters wearing costumes. They'll be in different locations, and Dingo will give you hints about where each one is in a spot. The example screenshot showed three possible spots for ones in Sun-Speckled Terrace. Those ones can be sent to Pikmin Bloom if you connect your account. As for the Relaxed and Fierce Modes, those refer to Creature Activity Levels. Relaxed means they won't attack you unless you attack them and they'll be weaker. Fierce means they're more aggressive and stronger. Those can be chosen at the start of a new game or at any time in options.

Here's the trailer highlighting everything:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBtBDFzu9ZA

Pikmin 4 is available for the Switch, and its Relaxed and Fierce Mode, Decor Pikmin, and Photo Mode will appear in an update patch in November 2025. Pikmin Bloom is available on mobile devices and gets Ice Pikmin on November 1, 2025.

Review: Once Upon a Katamari Embraces What Makes the Series Great

I love Katamari Damacy and adore most everything about the series, but must admit some of the more recent entries ended up being disappointing in certain ways. With entries like Katamari Forever and Touch My Katamari reusing so much and titles like Katamari Damacy Rolling Live going mobile, it got a bit exhausting. Once Upon a Katamari feels like the first true return to what makes a Katamari game not only entertaining, but memorable.

The All Cosmos royal family is cleaning out the castle as Once Upon a Katamari begins, though it is really The Queen and The Prince doing all of the work. In fact, the tutorial involves The King "supervising" as The Prince rolls up junk in one of the palace's bedrooms. As part of this process, The King of All Cosmos discovers a sealed scroll and decides to start twirling and tossing it. In his gusto, it goes through the roof and knocks out every star and planet in the sky. Even his beloved Earth is gone! What's to be done? Send The Prince off in the SS Prince time machine to different eras in human history to roll up elements to restore the universe.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQpojKTAvPY

Now, one thing I want to highlight before we move on to why Once Upon a Katamari feels like such a fresh and notable game in the series is the script. The stories in the Katamari series are never amazing. The King of All Cosmos gets carried away in some way. The universe is trashed. The Prince saves the day. The concept here is imaginative, which I appreciate, and still features the same fun quips from The King about different eras, The Prince's performance, and certain topics. He's as charming as ever with his asides. However, a notable point is that I don't feel he's as cruel or critical of The Prince. Yes, he will make a few biting remarks. But he seems more considerate (for him) than in past games, which feels like a sense of character development from the past installments.

Since this is a time travel game, progress in Once Upon a Katamari feels a bit different. We'll go to different eras, needing to complete a certain amount of stages to gain enough energy to power the SS Prince for another jump through time. When we are at a certain point in the timeline, The Prince will wander around the location to see the next stage spots.

As for the stages themselves, things progress much like in past Katamari Damacy games in Once Upon a Katamari. The King of All Cosmos will tell you the task, which can involve things like reaching a certain size within a certain amount of time or getting a certain objective completed like rolling up all items or getting a certain number of a certain type of items. Three crowns will also be hidden in each level as something of an additional optional item to collect, with that bonus being shown from the main map in place of the three star completion indicator in other kinds of games. You roll the Katamari forward and back. As usual, there are the traditional fast leaps to swap positions on either side of it for quicker turns, you can strafe around it, and there are camera options for a The Prince or Katamari-eye view. Power-ups can also be acquired for a temporary buff, such as a magnet to suck up things around you or a means to briefly pause the clock.

The only fault here has to do with one of the control schemes. The traditional one works perfectly. It's fantastic. The simplified one, which only uses the left analog stick, feels subpar. There isn't the same degree of control over the Katamari. It isn't as comfortable. I tried it for the sake of being able to say that I did, and it felt less comfortable than the traditional dual analog stick option.

The stages in Once Upon a Katamari are great and feel unique for a number of reasons. All of them are historical, so we're seeing period appropriate items and spaces. It means we see models and items that didn't show up in past games, which is a plus. The level design also feels pretty great and like there are some deliberate "paths" constructed in some spots to help leads you to certain ramps or hint at locations where you might find crowns. There's a good sense of progression, and I did feel like they scaled in difficulty and complexity upon heading to new eras.

I'm not as enthusiastic about KatamariBall, though I didn't play it under ideal conditions. This involves up to four people with Katamaris rolling around a space at once competing to get the largest one. It is possible to play with CPU opponents, but I really didn't get much out of it. Yes, it is possible. But I feel part of the fun of a Katamari game is making thoughtful choices in the moment to maximize your performance, and I didn't find it as much fun when pitted against other people.

But on to better things. The ambiance in Once Upon a Katamari is fantastic. The soundtrack? It's great. There's an amazing selection of songs here. Even better is that it accomplishes that with originality and not just copying the kinds of tracks we heard in Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari. I especially adored Etsuko Yakushimaru's "Diver," Chelmico's "Katamari Time," Daoko's "YangYang," and Kenji Ninuma's "Chill Prince." All of them are so appropriate.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns6wGXBFkYc

The character customization is also something I adored! Yes, there are cousins in Once Upon a Katamari to use as avatars instead of The Prince. However, you can also adjust different parts of each character to make a custom character. This means things like facial expressions and color schemes too. On top of that, there are additional accessories, like an extra buddy on the antenna or a mask, so you can really be your own person. It's a fun bonus. Though some of the new cousin designs are great too, so it ends up being a lot even if you don't want to make adjustments.

Once Upon a Katamari feels like it is as strong of an entry as a game like We Love Katamari. The time traveling element really suits the series. The character customization is a lot of fun. I'm not a KatamariBall fan and think the Simple control scheme option is far from it. But overall Once Upon a Katamari is a great installment that captures the essence of the series.

Once Upon a Katamari will come to the Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 24, 2025.

Okami Drawstring Purses

Capcom has revealed new drawstring bags featuring characters from Okami. The company will release these new items as capsule toy prizes in Japan in late October 2025.

There will be four design variants available in this lineup. Three of them will be white-colored and feature Amaterasu, the game's protagonist. The last one will be blue and instead feature Okikurumi, who is better known in the English releases as Oki.

These items will be available at random not only in Capcom's physical storefronts, but also on its Online Parco webstore at ¥660 (~$4.35) apiece. In addition, Capcom will sell a special edition of the drawstring purse that features eight candies inspired by the in-game fortune gems at ¥990 (~$6.50). While the Japanese web store supports international orders via Buyee in overall, it is yet to be known whether these bags will also be compatible or not.

These drawstring purses will be based on the Japanese mythology-themed action-adventure game that first came out for PlayStation 2 in 2006 and Wii in 2008. Capcom has also since released the Okami HD remaster for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. During The Game Awards in December 2024, Capcom revealed that a full-fledged sequel to Okami is in the works, with the original director and writer Hideki Kamiya returning.

The Okami drawstring purses will be available in Capcom's Japanese physical and digital storefronts on Friday, October 24, 2025.

Kayron on a purple background in attack pose in his keyart

You can reroll in Chaos Zero Nightmare using a Guest account. The first moment when you can pull characters from banners is after about 20 minutes of gameplay, when you clear the Chaos tutorial and see a message saying the Lobby has been unlocked.

When you go to the Lobby, CZN's tutorial will seem to force you into starting your first Battle Mission. You can, however, click away to return to the lobby and start rolling (or Rescuing) characters.

Before you start, claim all launch event bonuses from the Mail. You can get them by tapping the hamburger button (☰) on the top right of the lobby, then selecting the mail icon on the right-side menu. Also, get all the Achievement rewards by tapping the cards icon next to that hamburger button in the lobby. This way, you'll have maxed out all free rewards needed to pull for a five-star in the early game of Chaos Zero Nightmare.

Best banner and characters to pull and reroll for

Once you enter the Rescue menu from the lobby, you should pull from the Special Rescue Request banner. It's the third banner on the list, the one that guarantees you a five-star character after 50 pulls.

The five-star characters with the best reroll value are Mei Lin and Khalipe, with Kayron and Hugo also being good alternatives. They all have great AP cost effectiveness, strong buffs, or simply big damage and AoE cards.

The Rescue menu in Chaos Zero Nightmare
The right banner to pull from. Screenshot and editing by Destructoid.

From all the rewards you've collected in the Achievements and from the Mail, you should have almost enough Rescue Anchors to do these 50 pulls. You'll have enough Crystals to buy the rest and secure your first five-star character.

If you're obsessed with optimization, you can instead pull from the Normal Combatant Rescue banner first. But the odds of naturally pulling any five-star Combatant are 1 percent, or 0.1 percent for each specific target. If you get them, though, you still have the Special Rescue Request for a second guaranteed five-star. I still don't recommend this because you can clear game content with any combatant team early on, making this high level of optimization unnecessary and a massive drag with CZN's 20-minute reroll cycles.

How to reset your account to reroll

The account settings window in CZN highlighting the Reset Server option
Start fresh by resetting the server. Screenshot and editing by Destructoid

If you didn't get the five-star character you wanted from the Special Rescue Request, do the following to erase your account data and reroll in Chaos Zero Nightmare:

  • Go to the Lobby
  • Tap the hamburger button (☰) on the top right
  • Tap the Gear icon on the right-side menu that pops up to open the Settings menu. The Gear is the second icon from the bottom up.
  • Tap the icon with a generic person shape, which will open the Account Settings.
  • Select the "Reset server" button on the bottom right
  • Type in your account nickname to confirm you want to erase your game data.
  • Create a new game with a new Guest account.

You now have to play through all the tutorials from scratch until you unlock the Lobby again, when you'll claim all the Mail and Achievement rewards to roll for the Special Rescue a few more times.

How to bind your guest account after rerolling

If you're rerolling with a Guest account, remember to bind it to an email after getting the Combatant you were chasing. You can do so in the same Account Settings menu you used to reroll:

  • Tap the hamburger button, the Gear icon, and go to Account Settings.
  • Next to "STOVE Account Management", tap "Go Now"
  • Select "Upgrade to Member"
  • Choose your favorite method to bind your account and never lose it again. You can choose from Email, Google, Apple, Facebook, Naver, and Line.
  • Complete your platform-specific instructions, and your account will be bound and safe.

Rerolling in Chaos Zero Nightmare is not worth it

Unlike other gacha games, Chaos Zero Nightmare doesn't give you resources early on to pull from its rate-up banner, only from standard ones. Also, from the Closed Beta Test, all five-star characters are viable choices in most team comps in the early and mid game, with none of them being an overwhelmingly powerful choice compared to the others.

That's why rerolling in CZN is not worth it. The only reason to do so is if you really like one of the characters and absolutely want to start your playthrough with them. In that case, go for it. If you don't care, just keep whatever five-star you get from the Special Rescue, and you'll be completely fine.

The Pokémon Furfrou is shown in Pokémon Legends Z-A

Introduced back in the original Pokémon X and Y, Furfrou is one of the most interesting Pokémon out there, as it has several different forms based on its haircut.

Based on the poodle and the way people style their fur for dog shows, Furfrou has access to quite a few of these forms, but you'll need to do some work to find them. Thankfully, if you're hoping to find this adorable creature in Pokémon Legends Z-A, it can be found around Lumiose City. So we're showing you how to give your pup a haircut and change Furfrou trims in Pokémon Legends Z-A.

How to change Furfrou forms in Pokémon Legends Z-A

To unlock the ability to change Furfrou forms in Pokémon Legends Z-A, first head to Jaune Sector 6 and find the NPC called Mirte. She'll be stationed just north of Wild Zone 11, where you can catch one of these Normal types. Talking to them will start Side Mission 047, titled "Becoming A Furfrou Trimmer."

Completing the task is fairly easy, as you are just given the objective to use the move Slash on a nearby Substitute Doll. Complete this, and you'll then be able to visit Mirte and change your Furfrou's look to either the Heart, Star, or Diamond Trims.

To unlock even more styles, you must complete Side Mission 062, titled "Becoming A Pro Furfrou Trimmer." This quest opens up after you've continued the main story line. For this leg of the quest, you must use Razor Leaf instead of Slash. Completing this mission unlocks the following Furfrou Trims: Matron, Dandy, and Debutante.

A menu shows the Side Mission needed to unlock Furfrou

All Furfrou forms in Legends Z-A

There are a total of six special Furfrou trims in Legends Z-A, not counting the Pokémon's standard cut. As mentioned earlier, you unlock the first three with the first side quest, while the second batch is unlocked after Side Mission 062:

  • Heart Trim (light pink)
  • Star Trim (blue)
  • Diamond Trim (orange)
  • Debutante Trim (yellow)
  • Matron Trim (dark pink)
  • Dandy Trim (green)

Each time you choose to switch up your Furfrou's hairstyle, you'll be asked to fork over 500 Poké Coins, but you can change a Furfrou's look as many times as you'd like.

Obsidian Entertainment is on a roll, and all eyes are on The Outer Worlds 2 as its big RPG release for 2025. But when exactly is The Outer Worlds 2 set to come out? Here's what you need to know.

Exact The Outer Worlds 2 release date and time

The Outer Worlds 2 is set to launch on Oct. 23 and 24(Early Access) and Oct. 29 for everyone else. The Early Access is reserved for those who've forked over $99 and purchased the Premium Edition of the game, allowing them to play nearly a full week before others. This is yet another game that has employed this release structure, which is slowly but surely taking over AAA launches.

The countdown below will target Oct. 29 at 12pm CT, which is the official global release for the game. The exact times for Early Access will be listed out underneath it.

[hurrytimer id="1132365"]

For those who have purchased the Premium Edition of the game, you can expect the title to unlock on your relevant platform on Thursday, Oct 23 at 11pm CT.

What platforms will The Outer Worlds 2 be available on?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOf2np-KBG8

The Outer Worlds 2 will release on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. It was initially announced as an Xbox-exclusive title in 2021, but a trailer shown at The Game Awards featured the PS5 logo at the end, confirming that it'll be a multi-platform release.

Just like its predecessor, The Outer Worlds 2 is played from the first-person perspective. You'll spend most of your time talking to NPCs, doing quests for them, and probably shooting a bunch of enemies. If Obsidian's track record is anything to go by, you'll likely also run into branching narratives based on the decisions you've made throughout the story.

And that's everything you need to know about The Outer Worlds 2's release date for now. Be sure to search up Destructoid for more news and information on the game, including our list of best RPGs like Avowed.

Fernando Torres Base Icon card in FC 26

The Max 87 Base Icon Upgrade SBC is now live in FC 26, and it's your best gateway to get a guaranteed icon in Ultimate Team.

For most of us, the icon we receive should be the first one in the squad (discounting the Ultimate Team pre-order rewards). While there are many amazing cards to obtain, the reward pool only includes items rated up to 87.

This guide will help you with the complete list of rewards before you choose to invest your resources in the challenge.

Complete list of FC 26 Max 87 Base Icon Upgrade SBC rewards

There are plenty of cards you can potentially get from the following list, but the final result will be random.

  • Hernan Crespo ST 86
  • Gianluca Zambrotta RB 86
  • Roy Keane CM 86
  • Sol Campbell CB 86
  • Cha Bum Kun ST 86
  • Sissi CAM 86
  • Juan Veron CM 86
  • Ashley Cole LB 86
  • Luis Hernandez ST 86
  • Larsson ST 86
  • Michael Essien CDM 86
  • Genaro Gattuso CDM 86
  • Nemanja Vidic CB 87
  • Davor Suker ST 87
  • Frank Lampard CM 87
  • Claude Makele CDM 87
  • Iain Wright ST 87
  • Fernando Torres ST 87
  • Emmanuel Petit CDM 87
  • Patrick Kluivert ST 87
  • Robert Pires LM 87
  • John Barnes LW 87
  • Ian Rush ST 87
  • Frank Rijkaard CDM 87
  • Xabi Alonso CDM 87

As attractive as this SBC is, it requires a lot of fodder. If you get the fodder from the market, you'll have to spend a lot of coins. Some of the icons available from this SBC are worth less than the potential investment. Hence, only attempt this challenge if you're willing to take the risk.

With Ultimate Scream coming soon, it could be worth waiting and holding on to your fodder for the time being.

ARC Raiders has quickly become a top-anticipated title after multiple very positive playtests, including last weekend's Server Slam that had almost 200,000 players online on Steam at its peak.

The game's devs at Embark Studios came back with an update on the Server Slam this afternoon, thanking players for their participation, but also bringing some very useful information and an explanation as to why those pesky flying ARCs were so annoying.

ARC Raiders Server Slam stats
Image via Embark Studios

"It turns out their awareness was a bit too high, allowing them to essentially see through trees and bushes," Embark said. "This made their vision unintentionally over-powered, but we've adjusted what they can see now, so expect a fairer fight at launch."

This makes a lot of sense to me. The flying ARCs like the Wasp, Hornet, Snitch, or powerful Rocketeer felt a bit over-tuned in the Server Slam, so it's good to know that their vision may be taken down a notch in the full game. Other balancing changes will also be made, according to the dev.

Embark also made note that player reports on stability problems helped the team find "even more solutions leading up to launch day to ensure a smooth launch experience," along with squashing bugs and helping to identify game balance with suggested improvements.

One other area of note from the dev was the Dam Tower, which the studio saw "many of you bravely, and perhaps a little too easily" access, and so it will be fixed and tweaked for launch "to keep the challenge sharp."

I have never been the biggest fan of extraction shooters, but ARC Raiders feels quite polished and fun, and I think that we may see some big numbers in the title when it launches on consoles and PC next week on Oct. 30.

A massive frigate in No Man's Sky Breach update

The Breach update is live in No Man's Sky, and it brings Expedition 20 among a host of new content for players.

The new expedition is now live at the time of writing on Oct. 22, and we already have a fair share of information about it. The most important thing is to start the next expedition from the Anomaly. The new expedition has a similar structure to the previous Corvette expedition.

First, let's look at how to start the expedition.

Table of contents

How to start the Breach expedition in No Man's Sky

If you have completed the previous Corvette expedition, you'll know what needs to be done. If you're new, don't worry.

  • To start the expedition, you'll need to access the Anomaly.
  • Use your spaceship to be in space, and then summon the Anomaly.
  • Go inside and land your spaceship.
  • Jump down, and go to the main entrance.
  • The expedition terminal is located at the entrance.
  • You can first check the tasks and the rewards of the expedition.
  • Once you're ready, you can begin the expedition.

As a precaution, make sure to create a new save to complete the expedition so that you can always return to your original save in case something goes wrong.

Stella Sora featured image

Stella Sora has launched worldwide with a decent roster of characters, and we're here to help you understand which characters perform the best in the current meta.

Stella Sora's gacha revolves around Trekkers. The Trekkers have three different roles (Vanguard, Support, and Versatile) and six elements. While you can overlook elements to some extent, you'll have to pay attention to roles during team composition.

Let's look at which characters are the best choices and worth a reroll for, and which ones are worth replacing in the first instance.

Complete Stella Sora characters tier list

I have used four tiers to differentiate the Trekkers in Stella Sora.

  • S-tier characters are the best choices in the current meta, and they will become the building block of your teams.
  • A-tier characters are decent choices, but you'll have to focus on their elemental setups more than S-tiers.
  • B-tier characters are good choices for beginners.
  • C-tier characters should be replaced as early as possible because there are better alternatives.

Characters yet to be assessed: Caramel, Shimiao, Coronis

S-tier

  • Chitose: Being the first limited character in the game, Chitose is the best unit to get at the start of your adventure. She has the highest base ATK stat and a powerful 6-move combo. Her Ultimate does a lot of area-of-effect (AoE) damage and can also slow down enemies for a limited time. She excels at taking down single and large groups of enemies with ease.
  • Nanoha: Nanoha's greatest strength is the ease of landing her combo, as you have to chain just three moves. Her Ultimate is extremely fun as it summons two auto-firing turrets. Nanoha is also one of the best Trekkers for beginners.
  • Ann: Ann is arguably the best support character in the game, as she can buff her squad's ATK by up to 66%. She can also summon a creature that raises the squad's ATK. While there's an element of RNG with her kit, Ann's abilities make sure that the entire squad's ATK is buffed at almost all times during a battle.
  • Minova: Minova's kit is a hybrid of a versatile and support character, and she offers a bit of everything. You can play her at the main slot or roll with her as a support. Her abilities raise her own ATK and that of her teammates.
  • Ridge: Ridge is the only 4* Trekker that I will put on S-tier. The only note of caution is to keep your distance, as her pool of health is relatively low. She has excellent range on her attacks, so the distance isn't a problem. You can also buff the attacks of your allies by making them proc Terra-specific attacks to do more damage.
  • Freesia: Once you master how to operate Freesia in her Berserk state, she won't have any weaknesses. Berserk buffs all her attacks, and also transforms her kit to a 3-move combo. Like Chitose, Freesia can also inflict Chill with her main skill and Steam with her Support skill.

A-tier

  • Gerie: Her 5-move attack combo and ability to self-buff make Gerie a great choice. The buffs she receives from her AoE abilities allow her to recharge and auto-attack other enemies. She was a S-tier in CBT, but we have Chitose now, who has a significantly better kit.
  • Nazuna: While Nazuna is a S-tier choice in Terra squads, her utility dies down in other teams. Her abilities also have an RNG element, so you can't count on them at all times. When the luck is in your favor, Nazuna is arguably the best unit when it comes to team buffs. Her abilities can also do damage as a bonus, but it all comes down to odds and whether you're using a Terra-based squad.
  • Chixia: The only reason for Chixia to be down at A-tier is the relatively low damage of her ATK stat. While she does decent damage, it will fall low against harder enemies. That said, she fits well with almost any team as she can raise the damage potential of all her allies. Her Ultimate, thanks to its locking ability, will never miss. The abilities aren't RNG-based, so they offer a level of consistency.
  • Mistique: I like how Mistique operates via her summoned creatures. Her base abilities do decent damage and work well in terms of crowd control. She's a reliable attacker to have, but her base attack potential is also on the lower end.
  • Tilia: Tilia has good damage with her main skill, and she can also stun enemies for two seconds with her support skill. She's easily S-tier when it comes to bosses, but her lack of AoE damage and general ATK puts her at A-tier.
  • Cosette: While Cosette's general ATK is low, her support skill is absolutely amazing. She raises the Umbra damage taken by the enemies, and she can be considered an S-tier if you're only using Umbra units.

B-tier

  • Flora: Flora can raise the crit chance and crit damage of her allies, along with dealing damage with her support skill. Her Ultimate can be devastating, but certain enemies can bypass the damage zone easily, putting her at B-tier.
  • Teresa: She's a decent support who can create a protective barrier and a damage field. However, she can either apply this to herself or the character that's in the main slot.
  • Laru: Her 5-move combo has impressive ATK, while the Ultimate has consistent damage potential. Unfortunately, her support skill has a limited use-case scenario.
  • Noya: While Noya is a beginner unit, I like her combo, and she can fit well with a Ventus-only squad. She's a stable damage character who is worth building till you get a better one from the gacha.

C-tier

  • Jinglin: Jinglin can perform well as a hybrid support, and she's good with bosses. However, her attack tapers off against large groups of enemies.
  • Canace: Decent when it comes to buffing the ATK of the main unit, but not much use otherwise.
  • Amber: There's not much use for Amber apart from the fact that you get her at the start, and she is a good beginning unit.
  • Kasimira: A really weak unit that could only work well in an Ignis-based team.
  • Iris: She is a strange character because she acts better as a damage unit than a support. However, her kit is pretty lacklustre.

A juvenile Triceratops with their parents in Jurassic World Evolution 3

Jurassic World Evolution 3 has an all-new way of increasing the dinosaur population in your park, and breeding offers you some massive benefits.

While you can always acquire dinosaurs via fossil extraction and from the market, breeding is arguably the most sustainable way of raising the prehistoric creatures in your park. While it takes a bit of time to breed your first juvenile, the process is simple once you get the hang of it.

How to breed in Jurassic World Evolution 3

The breeding process has specific requirements that you'll have to meet in Jurassic World Evolution 3. I have discussed that more below, but let's look at how to breed a new dinosaur. Breeding can be done either using a Hatchery or a Nesting Area.

A Hatchery can be attached to the enclosure where you want the pair of dinosaurs to breed. The gate of the Hatchery must be open inside the enclosure for the newborn to find its home. When your dinosaurs are ready and their mating requirements are met, you can request your scientists to help the egg incubate. You can release the juvenile dinosaur once the incubation period is over.

Nesting Area

The Nesting Area is pretty similar to the Hatchery, but dinosaurs can breed naturally as long as the requirements are met. The ggs will incubate and hatch naturally, releasing the juveniles in the enclosure.

Hatchery vs Nesting Area - which one should you use in Jurassic World Evolution 3

Both the Hatchery and the Nesting Area have their own respective use-case scenarios. When you raise a juvenile, it can retain traits from its parents. Hatchery allows you to exercise more control over these factors, which is helpful if you're trying to raise your park appeal.

A family of T-Rex in Jurassic World Evolution 3

While juveniles will still retain traits from their parents when using the Nesting Area, it will be completely random. The Hatchery allows more micro-management, which can be helpful in certain situations.

All Jurassic World Evolution 3 nesting requirements

Every species has certain requirements to meet for it to breed.

  • Pay attention to a dinosaur's fertility rating and compatibility with their partner.
  • All dinosaurs should be adequately comfortable or above.
  • All enclosures must be of ample size.
  • There must be a Hatchery/Nesting Area connected to the enclosure.

Destructoid. I am incredibly excited to be talking to you today about a game I have been dying to play, and now I can finally review it. And if you have seen the title, you know I'm about to talk about PowerWash Simulator 2!

With 38 story levels, an actual plot, local co-op and online multiplayer up to four people, a new homebase for you to decorate with things you buy and find, more variety, improved visuals, and dozens of QOL improvements, this game is peak. So I'm going to gush about it for a brief moment.

Such an improvement

I can't understate how much of an improvement this game is over the first one in so many areas, from the updated controls to the game's feel. For starters, each level is now more varied and less massive than the first game. It won't take you an entire day to clean individual bars or a whole house; instead, you'll be bouncing from cards to interactive toilets and even a blimp or two to mix things up. The washing is also more forgiving now, as you'll find yourself getting far more dings without having to search for a single blip you missed.

Instead of an area highlighting when you are close to the finish or trying to focus on a specific area, an actual cursor now appears, pointing directly to the area you want to clean. It makes finding the last places you need to clean far easier than the original.

Stars are also gone, and you can buy whatever you want from the start without having to complete areas. You can also refund previously purchased items for the same amount you originally paid, so there's no need to grind to get the best gear anymore. You can quickly obtain items with ease.

Cosmetics also have their own form of currency now, along with base items you can buy to decorate your home, meaning you can achieve a nice aesthetic without it cutting into your budget for new equipment. Oh, and cleaning fluid has been removed entirely and is now an infinite nozzle on all your devices, so you no longer need to buy a dedicated wood cleaner. It works on everything now!

Still not a game for everyone

Despite all the improvements, I'm aware that this game may not be for everyone. While it's a good sit-down game that you can play with friends and take your time with, a lot of players might not have the patience to really sit through and tediously clean every aspect of a certain level. Although outside of that, I'm struggling to identify what makes this game inherently bad to discuss.

I'm a big fan of these games and love reading through the achievement list to find out what I need to do on a level first or last, so that I can then enjoy the cleaning process. As mentioned earlier, the game has improved significantly, making it feel more streamlined and enjoyable. However, I realize that my enjoyment comes with a bit of bias towards this type of game as well.

There are a few tedious levels, though. Cleaning them feels like a slog and a pain, which slows down the pacing a bit. Some I just didn't enjoy playing, perhaps because they were either boring to look at or felt too overwhelming.

I also don't think the game does anything significantly different from the previous one, apart from tweaking and improving controls. Additionally, there is no way to play the old DLC from the first game. Can you tell I'm having a hard time discussing negatives?

All the new tools and items simply improve on the base experience, but that is all they are. An improvement on what already existed, so if you didn't enjoy the first game or have already had your fill of this type of game, maybe it's something for you to sit out.

Final task

I really enjoyed this game, and it feels like the developers took everything a bit tedious and off-putting in the first one and improved upon it tenfold. It's really a case of playing the original and then playing this one to see what the night-and-day differences are.

All the new stuff also really does help to the overall gameplay experience and doesn't feel tact on, and the addition of a story (we won't be talking about because I don't want to spoil it) feels natural rather then a bonus and helps you feel immersed in the world, even if youll be locking in to clean up most of it.

Look forward to a chill time ahead, and prepare to jump in and out as you see fit to enjoy everything the game has to offer.

Haunted skeleton fish food on ground by grave in disney dreamlight valley

There's a strange, ghostly animal running around The Haunted Floating Festival island in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Catching up to and feeding this Critter is a key event task, but finding the food you need can be tricky.

This special Fox has different preferences than all other Foxes you can meet in the valley, so the food it desires might not be what you expect. You'll also likely struggle to find it, as it's in a rather strange spot, so here's where to find food for the Ghostly Zero Critter in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

What to feed Ghostly Zero Critter in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Ghostly Zero Fox will only eat Haunted Skeleton Fish. This is different from the regular Skeleton Fish you can catch over on Eternity Isle, as it's only available to find around The Haunted Floating Festival island. For the purposes of solving the Ghostly Critter puzzle, you don't need to fish this item up as you might expect.

Ghostly Zero Critter Haunted Skeleton Fish food location

The Haunted Skeleton Fish only spawn around Zero's grave on The Haunted Floating Festival island. There are quite a few different graves around the island, but only one that belongs to Zero.

Zero's grave is easy to distinguish from the rest because it has his name on it right above a skull dog icon. It's also close to other items from The Nightmare Before Christmas, including the iconic spiral hill, Halloween Town Hall, and the Holiday Trees.

This grave is quite hidden away, making it one of the trickiest spots to track down in the event, even when you know what you're looking for. If you're having trouble finding this spot, here's a full breakdown of how to access it.

  • Start at the Coco-themed well in the center of the island.
  • Turn to face the two frightening fountains spitting out green water.
  • Walk down the wooden path right between the fountains.
  • When the path ends, make a sharp left, proceeding past The Nightmare Before Christmas hill.
  • Continue straight until you reach Zero's grave.
  • Pick up the Haunted Skeleton Fish around the grave.

Now that you know where to find the Haunted Skeleton Fish, you can get to work feeding the Ghostly Zero Critter. Feeding this creature once won't finish the task, though, so there's still more work to be done to solve the Ghostly Fox Critter puzzle.

After you're done feeding the Ghostly Zero Fox, there's still plenty left to tackle in the event. Next, you might work on solving Terror-rific Tree puzzle or solving the Combination Pillar puzzle.

Posing by white rose pale bloom flower in disney dreamlight valley

To tackle the many unique puzzles featured in The Haunted Floating Festival event, you need to gather lots of items in Disney Dreamlight Valley. One of the puzzles you'll encounter challenges you to find some Pale Blooms.

The event island is a bit of a maze, so figuring out what you're searching for and where to find it based on this vague hint is rather tricky. Locating this item is crucial for completing a key event puzzle, though, so here's where to find Pale Blooms in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

What are Pale Blooms in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

Pointing at pale bloom white rose in disney dreamlight valley
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Pale Blooms mentioned in the Terror-rific Tree's hints are Haunted White Roses. These are bright white flowers with light green stems. You can only find and pick them up around The Haunted Floating Festival island, as no Haunted White Roses exist in the regular valley.

These flowers can sometimes be tough to spot among the tall, dark grass that covers most of the region. All Pale Blooms are highlighted with animated golden sparkles once you get decently close to them, though, making it a bit easier to find and collect them.

Pale Blooms location in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Pale Blooms are the easiest item to find for the Terror-rific Tree since you spawn fairly close to them upon arriving on the island. You can only find these special flowers growing right in front of the massive Haunted Mansion. Since there are quite a few unique buildings throughout the island, it can still be a bit tricky to find the right spot, so here's a full breakdown of how to find the Pale Blooms.

  • Start at the Coco-themed well right in the middle of the island.
  • Turn towards the direction where the path changes from brown tiles to dark grey stone.
  • Walk over to the carriage being pulled by an invisible horse.
  • Turn left and head toward the massive mansion.
  • Pick up the Haunted White Roses growing on the ground in front of the Haunted Mansion.

How often do Haunted White Roses respawn in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

Up to three Haunted White Roses can be present near the Haunted Mansion at any given time, and it takes roughly 15 minutes for more to spawn in. There must be fewer than three flowers present for the respawn timer to start, so be sure to pick the Pale Blooms often to make room for more.

There's plenty more to get done in this event. If you're not sure what to do next, consider working on the Ghostly Critter puzzle or the Combination Pillar puzzle. You also might tackle other spooky tasks outside of this event, like the Trick-or-Treat event, the Haunted Well puzzle, and the Witchful Thinking Star Path.

Terror-rific tree in disney dreamlight valley

A strange and eerie floating island has arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley, bringing with it The Haunted Floating Festival. This event has many tricky puzzles for you to work through, including the Terror-rific Tree puzzle.

All of the puzzles featured in this event are unique and don't give you much guidance for working through them. This generally makes them pretty tough to solve, so if you're struggling to get this one done, here's how to solve the Terror-rific Tree puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to complete Terror-rific Tree puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley

tree book puzzle solution in DDV
Screenshot by Destructoid

To complete the Terror-rific Tree puzzle for The Haunted Floating Festival event, you need to offer certain items to the tree, all of which can be found around the special event island. Close to where the tree is, you can find a bright yellow book on the ground right in front of a headless horseman statue.

Interact with this book to reveal a series of cryptic hints you can solve. These hints mention finding 20 Black Feathers, 15 Bony Fish, and 10 Pale Blooms. You're not given much information on where to find them, though.

Terror-rific Tree puzzle solution Disney Dreamlight Valley

To complete the Terror-rific Tree puzzle, you need to:

  • Give the Terror-ific Tree 20 Haunted Crow Feathers, which can be found on the ground next to the scarecrow by the garden.
  • Give the Terror-ific Tree 15 Haunted Skeleton Fish, which can be found on the ground next to the Ghostly Zero Foxes' grave.
  • Give the Terror-ific Tree 10 White Roses, which can be found growing by the Haunted Mansion.

Only a few of each item are available to collect at a time, so once you've gathered all that's available, you must wait for more to spawn in. This means you cannot finish the puzzle in one go, and you instead need to slowly collect all of the required materials. As soon as you give the Terror-rific Tree all of the requested items, your prize will drop, and this puzzle will officially be complete.

Completing the Terror-rific Tree puzzle unlocks your very own Terror-rific Tree that can be placed in the valley. It's a furniture item you can place anywhere you like, and more of them can also be purchased from Scrooge McDuck's shop once you unlock it.

When you're done tackling this and other The Haunted Floating Festival tasks, you can move on to working through other important spooky season festivities. The annual Trick-or-Treat event is also running, with plenty for you to get done, like the Haunted Well puzzle and Sugar Rush. Make sure you also keep up with the Witchful Thinking Star Path, as new duties are unlocking weekly for this event.

Flying next to a scarecrow and some haunted crow feathers in disney dreamlight valley

There are many tricky puzzles waiting to be solved throughout The Haunted Floating Festival event. One of them involves a hungry Terror-rific Tree that demands some Black Feathers from fearless birds.

You're only given this vague clue to work with, so figuring out what the Black Feathers are and where to find them can be fairly tricky. If this event task has you stumped, here's how to get Black Feathers from fearless birds in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

What are Black Feathers from fearless birds in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

Black Feathers from fearless birds are Haunted Crow Feathers in DDV. This item is exclusively available in The Haunted Floating Festival event and can only be found around the special island.

You're looking for small black feathers surrounded by golden sparkles. They're pretty tiny and easy to miss, so even when you know what you're looking for, tracking them down is a fairly tricky task.

Black Feathers from fearless birds location in Disney Dreamlight Valley

You can fund the Haunted Crow Feathers you need to feed the Terror-rific Tree on the ground by a scarecrow near the garden. The Haunted Floating Festival island is fairly large and quite a maze to navigate, so pinpointing the right spot can be tricky. Here's a full breakdown of how to find the features.

  • Start at the Coco-themed wishing well in the middle of the island.
  • Turn to face in the same direction as the scarecrow and autumn banners.
  • Walk under the autumn banners.
  • Stop right before the path changes from dark brown tiles to grey stone.
  • Make a sharp left, heading toward the pumpkin Mickey Mouse topiary.

  • Once you reach the pumpkin topiary, walk around the right side of it.
  • Continue straight until you reach a dead end.
  • Look right to find a short scarecrow wearing a light brown outfit.
  • Find the Haunted Crow Feathers on the ground all around this scarecrow.

You'll only find a few Haunted Crow Feathers around the scarecrow at first. After you collect them, more will eventually spawn in. They take a bit to reappear, and you need quite a lot of them to feed the Terror-rific Tree, so be sure to collect as often as you can.

How often do Haunted Crow Feathers respawn in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

Up to three Haunted Crow Feathers can be present at once, and it takes about 10 minutes for more to appear. It's not an incredibly long respawn timer, but you do still need to do a bit of waiting between each collection.

If you're not sure what to do while you wait, consider tackling other spooky festivities around the island. There are plenty to choose from, including the Trick-or-Treat event, the Haunted Well puzzle, and the Witchful Thinking Star Path.

A pillar puzzle in disney dreamlight valley the haunted floating festival event

Each puzzle you encounter throughout The Haunted Floating Festival event is unique, pushing you to work through various types of challenges in Disney Dreamlight Valley. The Combination Pillar puzzle is one of the ones you'll come across.

This one challenges you to choose the right symbols for each number on the Combination Pillar board. It's a fairly tricky task to get done, so if you're struggling to work through it, here's how to solve the Combination Pillar puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to complete Combination Pillar puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To complete the Combination Pillar puzzle, you need to select the correct symbol for all numbers on the puzzle board. The right symbol for each one can be uncovered by scouring the island. Around this special location, you'll find tiles marked with motifs. The pumpkins next to them help you determine the right order for each symbol in the Pillar puzzle. The Witch Hat tile, for example, has three pumpkins by it, so you know it goes third in the puzzle.

You can change the symbol under each number in the puzzle by approaching the block beneath it and interacting with it. The exact button you need to press varies by platform, but when you're standing close to the puzzle, it will be displayed by the word "Interact" to help you progress.

All Pillar puzzle tile locations in Disney Dreamlight Valley

There are four pieces to the Pillar Puzzle, which means there are four tiles to find around the island.

  • The Witch Hat tile can be found next to Zero's grave, close to the spiral hill from The Nightmare Before Christmas. There are three pumpkins sitting behind it.
  • The Bat tile is right over a window in the stone wall near the "That way" sign that points to the Potion Brewer's House. Walk through the archway, past the sign, then turn around and look up to spot this tile. There are two pumpkins sitting right under it..
  • The Cat tile is in the stone wall close to the Coco-themed wishing well. Look for the corner of the wall where there's a grave and some floating candles. You'll find the tile near the top of the wall. There are four pumpkins sitting on the ground beneath it.
  • The Web tile can be found on the side of the Haunted Mansion. Approach this vast building, walk past the Pale Blooms, and head around the right side. Just before you reach the Pillar puzzle, look left to spot the tile. There's one pumpkin sitting underneath it.

The Haunted Floating Festival Pillar puzzle solution in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The solution to the Combination Pillar puzzle in The Haunted Floating Festival event is:

  • I – Web
  • II – Bat
  • III – Witch Hat
  • IV – Cat

Rotate each tile until you get the Web under the first number, the Bat under the second number, the Witch Hat under the third number, and the Cat under the fourth number. You can turn the tiles as many times as needed, even if you accidentally go past the right symbol, as long as you eventually get all of the motifs where they need to be.

Successfully completing the Combination Pillar puzzle unlocks the Haunted Festival Dress as a reward. It's a festive black, orange, and white dress adorned with Halloween symbols like pumpkins and spiderwebs. This is the only clothing item you can get as a prize throughout the event, so this task is certainly one worth finishing.

With this puzzle complete, you can move on to tackling other spooky festivities around the valley. Next, you might work on key Trick-or-Treat event tasks like the Haunted Well puzzle and Sugar Rush. There's also the Witchful Thinking Star Path to work on, with plenty of tricky missions to get done, like crafting any refinement item and collecting some shoreline shellfish.

flying in the plaza by a well, castle, and portal in disney dreamlight valley

The Haunted Floating Festival has arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and it looks vastly different from all other events we've seen so far. Since this one is quite unique, figuring out how to start it can be rather tricky.

Like all events, this one comes with an array of exclusive prizes you can only unlock by working through it. You certainly don't want to miss out on these goodies, so here's how to start The Haunted Floating Festival event in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Where to find The Haunted Floating Festival event in Disney Dreamlight Valley

haunted floating festival portal in DDV
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Haunted Floating Festival takes place on a special, seasonal floating island in the sky. While all other events take place around the main village in DDV, this one is exclusive to a special event setting that's only available to visit for a limited time. Since you can't fully fly, getting to this island requires a bit of Dreamlight Magic.

How to travel to The Haunted Floating Festival event in Disney Dreamlight Valley

There are two ways to access The Haunted Floating Festival island in DDV:

  • The first and generally easiest method is navigating to the Event tab, selecting The Haunted Floating Festival section, and choosing the "Teleport" option near the upper middle section of the screen. You can use this option pretty much anywhere, making it easy to quickly travel to the island as needed.
  • The second method is visiting the Plaza biome, walking over to the central square area with the wishing well, and traveling through the portal. You must be in the Plaza to use this method, so it's generally not as easily accessible. There are also two different portals in the Plaza, so ensuring you choose the right one can be tough. The event portal is located near the southeast end of the area, closest to the ramp that leads up to the Forest of Valor. The other portal takes you to The Forgotten's home, the Dark Castle.

Since there are many puzzles featured in this event, you'll need to travel back to The Haunted Floating Festival island frequently. Some puzzles even require you to return daily, so be sure to check back often to ensure you don't miss out on any event prizes.

How long is The Haunted Floating Festival island available in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

haunted floating festival island in DDV
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Haunted Floating Festival event island is available for you to visit from Oct. 22 to Nov. 11. Once the event ends, the portal leading to this special area will vanish, and you'll be unable to travel there anymore.

All other seasonal events return on an annual basis, so it's likely this one will be added to the rotation too, but we won't know for sure until October 2026. It's best to focus on getting everything done this year, just in case.

The Haunted Floating Festival event isn't the only spooky activity you can enjoy on the island. The annual Trick-or-Treat event is also running, with plenty of special tasks to work on, like the Haunted Well puzzle and Sugar Rush. The Witchful Thinking Star Path is also active, giving you plenty to work on alongside this event.

Sitting on ground with ghostly zero fox in disney dreamlight valley

A spooky, festive new event has arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley, bringing with it a strange floating island packed with puzzles to tackle. One of the many challenges you'll face in The Haunted Floating Festival event is the Ghostly Critter puzzle.

This event is entirely based on solving unique trials, so this puzzle and all others you'll encounter are quite tricky. There are plenty of exclusive prizes you can claim as a reward for finishing these feats, though, so they're certainly worth doing. If this one has you stumped, here's how to solve the Ghostly Critter puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Where to find ghost Zero Fox Critter in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Ghostly Zero Fox can be found wandering around The Haunted Floating Festival island endlessly. This Critter doesn't have a singular fixed location and instead patrols around frequently, making it a bit tough to track down. Luckily, this Ghostly Critter has a glowing blue and white appearance that generally makes it easy to spot around the otherwise dark island. This Fox is quite fast, though, so you might want to eat some food so you can glide or fly to keep up with it.

The Haunted Floating Festival Ghost Zero Fox puzzle solution in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To complete the Ghostly Critter puzzle, you need to find the Critter's favorite food and feed it to them once daily for four days in a row. This isn't a puzzle you can complete in one go, and requires patience and dedication, so here's a full breakdown of how to get it done.

  • Find the Ghostly Zero Fox Critter around The Haunted Floating Festival event island.
  • Learn what this Critter's favorite food is. There's a book you can find and read on the island that reveals its favorite food, which is Haunted Skeleton Fish.
  • Track down some Haunted Skeleton Fish. You can find this fish on the ground by Zero's grave.

  • Feed the Ghostly Zero Fox a Haunted Skeleton Fish. Repeat this step once daily for four days.
  • Collect all four Memory Shards. Each time you feed this critter, a new Memory Shard will drop. Gather all four pieces to complete the puzzle.
  • Travel to the location pictured in the completed Memory. Once finished, the Memory leads you to the Haunted Mansion Hearse.
  • Use your Royal Shovel to dig up your reward. At the Haunted Mansion Hearse, equip your Royal Shovel and use it to dig up your prize. As soon as you do, this puzzle will be complete.

Completing the Ghostly Critter puzzle unlocks the Clawed Foot Tub item as a reward. It's a furniture item from straight out of the film The Nightmare Before Christmas, where it's used by Lock, Shock, and Barrel to kidnap Sandy Claws.

There are plenty of other spooky activities to enjoy around the island once you're done tackling this puzzle. If you're not sure what to do next, consider tackling tasks in the Trick-or-Treat event like the Haunted Well puzzle or Sugar Rush. Be sure to also keep up with your Witchful Thinking Star Path event duties. There are three events running together, so it can be a lot to keep up with, but all of them are packed with prizes you don't want to miss.
