Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Tuesday, October 28, 2025 9:11 AM For too long have you remembered Ron Gilbert as the peddler of point-and-click adventure game comedies like The Secret of Monkey Island, despite his long history of forays into other genres. From now on, you are only allowed to remember him as the purveyor of Dragon Quest-flavoured perpetual motion machines that satirise bureaucracy and precarity. I'm referring to Death By Scrolling, Gilbert's latest project with Terrible Toybox NZ and publishers MicroProse. MicroProse? This seems awfully intuitive for that brand. We knew that the second season of the live-action adaptation of One Piece would be on Netflix in 2026, but now we have an exact release date for the show. That will begin streaming on March 10, 2026. A new piece of key art and some production photos are also live that show Drum Island.
Drum Island is a notable location, as that's when the Straw Hat Pirates meet Tony Tony Chopper for the first time. The key art shows Luffy walking on the island and confirms the One Piece live-action Netflix release date. As for the photos, they focus on showing Luffy, Sanji, Usopp, and Zoro as they travel through the location.
This is the second recent piece of key art teasing an important part of the second season. The last one came up at the outset of October 2025 and showed Laboon the whale. That one was accompanied by production photos of Crocus and the Straw Hat Pirates.
You can see all those new images below:
We know the live-action story will continue even past season 2. Back in August 2025, Netflix confirmed a third season would be made too. Production will kick off on that soon. Likewise, the One Piece Heroines anime is in development too.
The One Piece season 2 live-action adaptation release date is March 10, and it will be on Netflix, Season 1 is available now, and a third season is also confirmed. The original anime is on Crunchyroll and Netflix. Viz Media handles the manga in English.

When a console includes backward compatibility, it's really easy for it to be established shortly after launch. So the Switch 2 started off in a good position. But we also saw a number of new games announced for other consoles also suddenly get the "oh, and it'll be on Switch 2" confirmation too. This means that Bloober Team got a little bit of extra attention with Cronos: The New Dawn on the Switch 2 and, even though it did launch with some minor issues, found a way to establish itself as one of the best horror offerings on the system so far.
Earth is seriously messed up in Cronos: The New Dawn. Because of a mysterious incident called The Change, people started transforming into mutated Orphans. Members of the Collective time travel to extract certain individuals, with our avatar Traveler ND-3576 being the latest assigned to the task. However, while collecting one person named Edward, something goes awry. With the help of the Warden, our Traveler continues their mission and learns more about the situation in the process.
While this is a third-person horror game, it really feels more like a survival action-adventure game that has more in common with Resident Evil than older Silent Hill games. It can be scary, but the real horror comes from the way enemy designs look, situations when you know you're out of ammo, and instances where if you don't react quickly, enemies can merge to become more powerful instead of dying. I'd say it feels more unsettling and like it is cultivating a horrific atmosphere than being outright terrifying. Which is probably for the best, as literally surviving some bosses might be an issue otherwise.
Since there's the danger of enemies merging, gameplay means dealing with hostile situations, managing foes and ammunition, and taking care to burn enemies of the fallen to keep them from joining up to be a more powerful opponent. In addition to a pistol, we can get guns like two types of shotguns, an automatic handgun, and two kinds of carbines, so how we like to approach situations and what kind of ammo we've collected comes into play with encounters. However, I did notice that not every weapon feels "equal." The Hammer PROV-2030 shotgun and Lance REV-1411 carbine felt like the "best" weapons out there. Pair with the merge situations often being pretty manageable, since it does take foes some time to do so and you can get up in their faces, and it sometimes didn't feel as threatening as I thought it would. The bosses can be pretty satisfying, but the only thing that made most encounters feel challenging were what felt like unreasonable inventory limits at parts.
Now, you're probably looking at this article and wondering, "Jenni, did you purposely hold off on reviewing the Switch 2 version of Cronos: The New Dawn until Halloween?" I mean, I will admit holding it back a week because of that. But mainly it is due to the fact that Bloober had been releasing updates for the game that made major improvements and I felt it'd be more fair to wait until it seemed settled. Which was a good point, as the game is in a far better position than it was at launch. There are no issues with effects or fog that make things look noticeably wrong. While it still isn't looking as amazing as it does on the PS5 or PC, the Switch 2 version textures do look much better and you can see much further into the distance than before. The game looks much better, and that means it's a game I'd immediately recommend rather than not.
Honestly, I think the story and premise of Cronos: The New Dawn is what most "sells" the game. It's a generally strong action game, even with a few minor issues, but the concept of coming to understand what happened and what you're doing is fascinating. Especially since we do have some degree of choice in certain situations. There are multiple endings as well, and the concept behind The Change and situation involving the Traveler and folks being extracted is interesting enough that I do think at some point I'll return to get the true ending.
Cronos: The New Dawn is a really respectable Switch 2 horror game and early addition to its launch library. While it leans more toward a survival title with horror elements, it's still unnerving enough to suit someone's needs. Plus the post-launch patches left it in a strong position. Sure, there are a few elements that aren't quite perfect, but it's really fascinating.
Cronos: The New Dawn is available on the Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Biomes in Plants vs Brainrots let you customize the look of your island and obtain exclusive brainrots that otherwise spawn only during Admin Abuse events. Now, unlocking new biomes can be quite grindy, especially for new players. With that in mind, we prepared the following Plants vs Brainrots biomes guide that covers how to unlock each biome and what exclusive secret brainrots you can obtain from them.
Plants vs Brainrots Biomes Explained
In Plants vs Brainrots, biomes are permanent island variations you can unlock, which allow you to obtain unique Secret brainrots. In higher biomes, brainrots spawn with more HP, and they get a suffix II/III at the end of their name. Their $/s generation values are also increased. Here is a list of biomes in Plants vs Brainrots, their unlock requirements, and secret brainrots exclusive to them:
How to Unlock New Biomes in Plants vs Brainrots
You can unlock new biome totems in Plants vs Brainrots by progressing through the Story Brainrot Invasion events. The base biome every player has unlocked from the start is the Grasslands. Desert and Jungle biomes are unlocked after completing the 25th and 50th Story events, respectively.
How to Complete Story Brainrot Invasion Events
Story Brainrot Invasion events appear around 15 minutes after completing the previous Story mission. Once triggered, there is an additional 15-minute preparation window before you can activate the Story battle. The Story battle itself lasts only for around 2 minutes, and you have to defeat all brainrots that spawn to complete it.
As you progress through the Story missions, brainrots in them will spawn with more and more HP, which can be too much for your plants to handle. However, you will be able to activate the same battle again after the usual cooldown period. Here are some things that can help you beat Story missions more reliably:
How to Switch Biomes in Plants vs Brainrots
After you unlock the Desert biome, a small totem will appear next to the bridge on the left side of your island, which allows you to change the biome on your island. In the same menu that opens up, you can see which Secret units are exclusive to a specific biome. So, if you need a Secret brainrot such as Meowzini Sushini for a fuse recipe, you will have to switch to the Grasslands biome to get it. Similarly, to obtain Meowtronzio and Rexosaurus for Rebirths 8 and 9, you need to activate the Desert biome.
That does it for our guide on how to unlock new biomes in Plants vs Brainrots. Let us know in the comments if you are struggling to complete one of the Story missions so that we can help you out. For some in-game freebies, make sure to check out our Plants vs Brainrots codes.
Plants vs Brainrots Biomes FAQs
Are some Secret brainrots exclusive to specific biomes? Yes, some Secret brainrots can be obtained only while a specific biome is active on your island. How to get Desert and Jungle biome totems in Plants vs Brainrots? You can obtain the Desert and Jungle biome totems by completing the 25th and 50th Story Brainrot Invasion events. Do biomes affect the HP of boss brainrots? No, boss brainrots have separate HP scaling that is independent of the current biome.

Super Fantasy Kingdom is a unique roguelite town builder that asks you to survive as long as you can.
While the core objective is to rebuild your kingdom, your strategy will always vary depending on many factors. You also have to defend your kingdom from the hordes of evil that want to take over. If you're overwhelmed about what needs to be done, this guide will erase all your confusion.
Table of contents
How do you win in Super Fantasy Kingdom
The concept of winning in Super Fantasy Kingdom involves outlasting your enemies for as many days as possible. Every day in the game has two cycles: morning and night. During the morning or daytime, your task is to build, gather resources, and gain new units (the Hero you use has to be chosen at the start).
At night, your task is to survive the hordes of enemies coming at you. First, you'll be attacked by weak minions that can be taken down quite easily. Some nights will have bosses trying to break down your defenses.
A successful defense combines multiple factors. Your Hero will lead the primary charge, but your summoned units will also aid your defense. Raising defensive buildings is also crucial, as is feeding your units.
When you feed your units, they gain XP and level up (the same applies to your hero). Feeding only occurs after you have survived a night cycle. If you don't have food, your units will stop growing, making them weak against stronger enemies.
Super Fantasy Kingdom UI explained
The UI at first can be quite confusing to understand, and there are multiple elements. Here's a quick summary of what each icon and terminology means.
Super Fantasy Kingdom buildings guide
Your kingdom is toothless without the correct type of buildings, and we have a dedicated guide for the correct order. However, the simple rule is to pay attention to your resources. You'll want to reduce the time taken by a villager/worker to complete their job.
Hence, you should build your production buildings near where the respective resources are located. Small buildings should be built on the smaller plots to avoid wasting space. As a priority, you should always set up Houses, Mines, and Sawmills first since all three are crucial to expanding your kingdom.
Super Fantasy Kingdom Units and Heroes
Your kingdom's defense will largely depend on your Heroes and Units. Heroes are like your champions, while Units provide unique buffs and stat modifiers (further enhanced with the use of correct relics). You will unlock new Heroes by completing various tasks and leveling up your kingdom.
For Units, you'll need to complete specific tasks and challenges, and some of them can be quite difficult. Always pay attention to the respective strengths of your Heroes and their weaknesses, and then decide on the units.
That's pretty much it when it comes to understanding the basics in Super Fantasy Kingdom. The instructions in this guide are meant for those who will play with Human Kingdom. While the core rules remain the same, there are key differences if you're playing as the Undead Kingdom.

It's easy to enchant in Slasher Blade Loot by just walking to the Enchant station in the lobby at Level 30+ and spending Enchanting Stones. That said, the game doesn't explain what they all do for weapons and armor nor how to get multiple enchants on the same item. I'll show you everything in my Slasher Blade Loot Enchant guide as well as best Enchants in the game.
Table of contents
Slasher Blade Loot Sword and Armor Enchant List
Here's what all Enchants in Slasher Blade Loot do for both weapons and armor. Note that weapon Enchants come in tiers I, II and III, IV and V increasing in power. Armor Enchants also come in tiers I, II, III, IV and V likewise increasing in power. I'll talk about the best ones below but for now here are all of their effects.
Sword Enchant List
Armor Enchant List
How to Get 3 Enchants in Slasher Blade Loot
When you open an Enchant station there will always be three options with X1, X2 and X3 with random Enchants assigned. Each one costs 1, 2 and 3 Enchant Stones to use respectively and gives you 1, up to 2 and up to 3 Enchants on your weapon. This means that if you spend three Enchant Stones on the X3 option you will get the Enchantment displayed plus a chance to get up to 2 more (or up to 1 more for X2) random ones with random tiers.
If you get the X2 or X3 option, you will always know one of them since it'll show up as the display option. This is why I highly recommend rolling on the X1 option until you see the Enchant you like on the X2 or X3 options since even rolling X1 rerolls all three options. For example, if you want three Enchantments on your weapon and want one of them to be Life Steal, just roll the X1 option until you see Life Steal on X3 then get that one. You will get Life Steal as a guarantee and then have a chance at up to 2 more random Enchants.
Best Enchants in Slasher Blade Loot - Enchant Tier List
Below you'll find my rankings for the best Enchants in Slasher Blade Loot for weapons and armor. Note that I am assuming you're getting the max tier possible. This means that sometimes a good low-Tier Enchantment is worse than a mid high-Tier Enchant. For example, if you're getting 1 Enchant on your Armor, even though Strength is the best one for armor Protection V is still better than Strength I. Here's my Slasher Blade Loot Enchant tier list:
How to Farm Enchant Stones in Slasher Blade Loot
The best way to farm Enchantment Stones is to get yourself a Looting III sword and Sweeping+Critical then go farm bosses. Bosses drop Enchant Stones and Looting III will drastically boost their drop chance. The best boss to farm for Enchantment Stones is the Ender Dragon and then you can server hop to another server to kill it again so you don't have to wait for respawn and repeat on other servers. You can also just clear all bosses on a server to get Enchantment Stone drops then switch to another server where they have refreshed.
That's it for my complete Slasher Blade Loot Enchantment guide. Also, grab our Slasher Blade Loot codes for free goodies.
