Most of the attention on Rockstar post-GTA 6's second delay has, rightly, been focused on their abrupt firing of 31 employees, for which the IWGB have accused the company of union busting.

As all of that happens, though, the video game making machine continues to churn on, and GTA Online's continuing to get the additions Take-Two said it would when they set this latest delay in stone. GTA 5's online element/cash cow guise has long been a playground where regular people like you or me can live out a still somewhat satire-tinged take on the fantasy lifestyles of uber-rich criminals, so it honestly feels a bit strange that it's taken this long for Rockstar to add in mansions.

Street Fighter Juri-Chan Nendoroid Can Throw a Tantrum

A Nendoroid of Juri-chan, the version of Juri Han that stars in the Street Fighter You've Got This, Juri (Ganbari, Juri-chan) comics online, will arrive in 2026. She'll feature a number of face plates inspired by her reactions in the series, which can be viewed on social media worldwide and are collected on an official site in Japanese. It will cost ¥6,900/$43.99. Ordering it direct from Good Smile Company nets people a special postcard with art by Kangyaku, who creates the manga.

This Street Fighter Juri-chan Nendoroid comes with three face plates and two major accessories. One shows her with a wide smile, another has her angrily gritting her teeth, and the third is the crying and shouting face that could be used with a "tantrum" pose. She comes with both a lollipop and smartphone that she can hold. There are also an array of arm, leg, and hand parts, which are shown in the example photos.

Here are some of the initial photos Good Smile Company shared.

In case you missed the most recent installment of the Street Fighter comic, here's the one that Capcom shared on November 11, 2025. It's called "Merry and Fun Dee Jay" and, as the title suggests, focuses on him.

In Japan, that version of the Juri Han is used on merchandise and for promotional purposes, such as with a set of Clear Men shampoo and conditioner.

The Street Fighter You've Got This, Juri Nendoroid will show up in Japan in April 2026 and worldwide in Q3 2026. Pre-orders close on December 24, 2025.

New 2.0 Infinity Nikki Itzaland Region and Abilities Detailed

Infold Games confirmed that the 2.0 Infinity Nikki update will add a new Itzaland region to the game back in July 2025, and now it shared a map, confirmed we can skip the story to get there early, and announced the new Abililties Archery, Gigantification, and Sticky Claw. The patch will also add a new, optional, optimized control scheme for folks playing on a PS5 or with a controller on a PC, wardrobe organization quality of life adjustments, and ability handheld items. The update is expected to appear in the near future, as the 1.11 Encore Season ends on November 25, 2025.

We already knew the first Itzaland locations we'd visit in Infinity Nikki 2.0 would be Elderwood Forest and Spira. Now, there's a first teaser for where those spots will be. On the official site, Infold Games showed a map highlighting they are in relation to Wishfield. The image did show the areas blanked out and is an "in development" one, so that could look different when 2.0 is live. However, it did show the Itzaland Canyon near the Abandoned District. It seems Elderwood Forest will be home to the Forest of Slumber and Shroomville, while Spira will feature a Giant Spear. Chapter Selection in Sea of Stars will let us go there. It will also eventually expand to include more llocations and a Linlang island.

Here's the map teaser:

As for the three new 2.0 abilities in Infinity Nikki, one seems focused on combat and the other two for exploration. Archery gives Nikki a bow and arrow. When set, you can fire homing arrows. The exploration ones are Gigantifiction and Sticky Claw. The former makes Nikki larger than usual, so she can cover more ground faster. The Sticky Claw will be like a grappling hook.

With the new control scheme, Infold Games specifically noted the changes are to help apply to combat and that they are optional. People can still use the existing one or swap to the new option. The developer shared two in-progress images highlighting the changes on both a PS5 DualSense and PC controller. Some of the new additions include Archery's Aim assigned to L2, Plunge and a Whim combat skill assigned to R2, Abilities and Sub-Abilities on RT, Dash on O/B, attack on square/X, and switch outfit being tied to pressing right on the d-pad.

Infinity Nikki is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 2.0 update is expected ahead of 2025.

Most Used Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy Closed Beta Character Was Lightning

Now that the Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy closed beta ended, Square Enix shared some stats like revealing the most used character in this trial was Lightning from FFXIII. It turns out more people used Lightning than anyone else. The data drop also shared other insights about the beta and highlighted a boss that closed it out.

Only the top five most used characters in the Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy closed beta were revealed, and Lightning took first place by almost 5%. 21.22% of people used her. Cloud came in second at 16.35%, followed by Terra in third at 13.53%. Warrior of Light ended up in fourth place (10.33%), and Gaia in fifth (8.47%).

Square Enix offered insight into what types of Set Abilities people playing Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy during that period used most too. There were no exact percentages for that breakdown. Rather, the company just shared the top 10 most popular skills. All of the top three were SR ones, but the rest involved a mix that included N, R, and even one UR-ranked one. Here's the list:

  1. SR Firaga
  2. SR Heal
  3. SR Thundaga
  4. R Cura
  5. SR Earth Breaker
  6. N Cure
  7. SR Surge
  8. UR Ace/Fire RF
  9. R Blizzara
  10. N Blizzard

The last "report" involved a bar graph breakdown of the Season Rank of players by the end of it. Since there are few notations, we don't know exact percentages. However, over 50% of folks ended up in Bronze. A few people did make it into the Diamond and Gold Ranks, however.

Here are the infographics for the Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy closed beta going over the most used characters, Season Rank, and most used Set Abilities.

Finally, Square Enix ended the beta with a King Behemoth fight. While there's no full footage showing the bout, a brief teaser introduced how it looked in-game. Only people who hit Silver, Gold, and Diamond ranks were able to fight it.

Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy is in development for Android and iOS mobile devices, and the closed beta ended on November 13, 2025. Participants can fill out a survey tied to that experience until November 16, 2025.

Pokemon Goita Board Game Debuts in Japan in December

The Pokemon Company International announced Pokemon Goita, a variant of the classic Japanese board game with characters from the series on its tiles, will launch in Japan on December 18, 2025. It will cost 2,970円 (~$19). One of the first places that ship worldwide that is showing listings for copies is Meccha Japan, so we may see other shops also offer it worldwide.

While the game instructions and the eventual educational app announced on the official site will be in Japanese, Goita itself is available worldwide and the tiles for the Pokemon variant feature English text. It is a two versus two game, with the goal being to be the first duo to get 150 points. You play two tiles each turn, with one being attack or defense. The goal is to play all tiles to win hands. The first team to reach or beat the point requirements wins.

Here's a list of all the tiles in the set:

  • 10 Points: Pidget (Pawn)
  • 20 Points: Ponyta (Knight) and Rattata (Lance)
  • 30 Points: Raichu *Gold) and Pikachu (Silver)
  • 40 Points: Charizard (Rook) and Dragonite (Bishop)
  • 50 Points: Mew (King) and Mewtwo (King)

Here's a closer look at the box art, as well as screen captures of all the tile designs from the official site.

There's also a first trailer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1QbjCxYhZI

We've seen Pokemon variants of board games before. In the past, there was a Pokemon Nine Tiles option.

Pokemon Goita will release in Japan on December 18, 2025, and it's unknown if we'll eventually see it worldwide.

See Over 7 Minutes of Metroid Prime 4 Gameplay

Nintendo kicked off November 2025 with a Metroid Prime 4: Beyond trailer, and it ended this week with an even longer one that spends almost seven minutes showing off Switch 2 gameplay and an overview of this entry's features. It sets up the story, shows the antagonist, highlights locations, and lets us see her attacking and traveling around a new world ahead of the game's Switch and Switch 2 debut next month.

It starts with Samus acting on behalf of the Galactic Federation. Sylux, who appeared in Metroid Prime Hunters, attacked the UTO Research Center. As a result, she ends up on the planet Viewros. The place is a complete mystery, and she'll need to explore it and search for answers and a way out. Some of the spots we'll see are the Flare Pool facility, Fury Green jungle, Ice Belt lab, and Volt Forge factory. As the Lamon civilization that built in these places is extinct, all that appear to remain are monsters and robots.

The Metroid Prime 4 gameplay trailer also showed off some abilities we'll see Samus use. As usual, she can use her Power Beam and Missiles to attack. If some areas need some planning or special exploration methods, she can dash, jump, or transform into her Morph Ball form. Her Scan Visor can check items around her for insights and information for her Logbook. New to this installment are Psychic Abilities like a Control Beam or Psychic Glove.

Here's the full trailer on YouTube:

BO7 camo challenges Kiernan Shipka

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's campaign is a short but adventurous romp through some trippy hallucinations and a whole lot of Avalon.

Once it comes to an unceremonious end and before you're thrust into Avalon once more for the fun Endgame PvE mode, one last cutscene plays during the credits and teases what may be coming next in the game's storyline.

Stop reading now if you're avoiding spoilers. Otherwise, scroll on down to find out more.

Black Ops 7 campaign ending credits scene explained

BO7 ending final mission
Screenshot by Destructoid

In BO7's final campaign mission, Mason and co. save the day by destroying Emma Kagan and The Guild's facility that they were planning to use to deploy the Cradle biological weapon all over the world, and Kegan has been captured and brought into custody to face justice.

But with Emma Kagan captured, it appears The Guild is still active and someone new is in charge, judging by the reveal we get in the final scene. And so this is not the end.

Who was the man at the end of the BO7 campaign?

Screenshot by Destructoid

The man at the end of BO7's campaign in the teaser scene during the credits is an unknown, new character to the Black Ops franchise, or at least someone who has been minor in the shadows up until this point.

The subtitles reveal his name is Dorne, but beyond that, we don't know much else just yet. We can see that he is a part of The Guild judging by the robot characters and technology around him, so it appears Treyarch is setting him up to be the new villain moving forward. He was also seen in the beginning cutscene with Kagan after her TV interview.

Black Ops 6's campaign had a similar ending that teased a character named Jackson Caine. Caine ended up being one of the driving forces behind seasonal cutscenes and content drops throughout BO6, and so Dorne will likely have a similar role moving forward throughout the next year or so of lore drops.

This time around, though, Treyarch will be able to use content drops in the 32-player PvE mode Endgame to expand the story, so the potential for a more cohesive narrative to take place for the next 10 or so months is highly possible.

You can watch the full BO7 campaign ending in the video by MrDalekJD below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAN7QecQa9g

When you defeat the final boss in Endgame mode, you also unlock this final cutscene that further teases Dorne as the new villain. Check it out in this video from TheGamingRevolution:

Necrofluid Gauntlet in Black Ops 7

The Ashes of the Damned map in Black Ops 7 Zombies has three wonder weapons for you to find across the map, and the Necrofluid Gauntlet is arguably the hardest one to get.

Getting your hands on this powerful weapon isn't going to be an easy task, and you'll require a well-coordinated team to enhance your chances of success. This guide will help you out with all the steps necessary for getting the Necrofluid Gauntlet.

How to craft the Necrofluid Gauntlet in Ashes of the Damned

The entire quest for getting the Necrofluid Gauntlet can be broken down into two key parts.

  • Adding Klaus as an ally
  • Getting the actual wonder weapon.

Adding Klaus as an ally

You'll first meet Klaus in the Ashwood location, where he is held up in the Sheriff's Office. We have a detailed guide to help you free him and then add him as an ally. I will still briefly mention the key steps.

  • Go to Janus Plaza.
  • Kill the Uber Klaus that spawns at the gate near the lake.
  • He will drop a chip
  • Bring it back to the cell to open the door.
  • Hit Klaus with stuns to concuss him and then wake him up.

Klaus held in a cell.

Adding Klaus is only going to be one part of the task. I have broken down the task of getting the Necrofluid Gauntlet into two subparts to make it easier for you.

Obtaining the Aether Canister

The first step of obtaining the Gauntlet is to get an Aether Canister. To get it, interact with the broken panel beneath the rockets at Zarya Cosmodrome. This part is extremely critical, so do as exactly mentioned.

Scanner location
Scanner location. Image via Activision. Remix by Destructoid

  • One of you has to interact with the switch to start the scan.
  • Only one person should be standing in the scanner for it to progress. This has to be the person who started the scan.
  • The scanner works in a time-bound fashion. Failing to complete the scan means that your progress will be reset. You'll have to restart the scanning process on a fresh round.

Once the scan is complete, an empty Aether Canister will drop. The next task will be to take this Aether Canister to the three Power Pumps and fill it up (starting with Ashwood, then Backwater Lake, and finally Vandorn Farm). The Aether Canister takes some time to recharge, and there's a timer on it. If you fail to fill it up completely before the timer runs out, it will become empty.

Make sure to reach Vandorn Farm last because that's where the cellar is.

Using the Canister to unlock Necrofluid Gauntlet

Go to the cellar located under the barn, and you'll find a cube with runes. Activate the cube with the help of the Canister, and you'll find it lit on three sides, and an eye on the cube on the fourth side. One of you has to leave Vandorn Farm and use a launch pad to return.

Cube with ruins
Image via X/MargwaNetwork

This will give you a glimpse of three symbols on top of the three buildings of Vandorn Farm. Remember these symbols because you'll have to choose them correctly on the cube with the runes. Once entered, interact with the eye, and it will hand you the Necrofluid Gauntlet.

Once obtained, it will begin a lockdown. Shoot the green orbs with the Gauntlet and reload, which will pull the ammo towards you. The orb will ultimately disappear, leaving your team with the new wonder weapon.

A character fighting zombies in Black Ops 7 Zombies

Klaus has not only survived the horrors of the past, but you can add him as an ally in the Ashes of the Damned map in Black Ops 7 Zombies.

However, you can't just waltz in and send him a friend request. Instead, you'll first have to find out his location and then figure out how to add him to your party. Thankfully, this quick guide will outline all the necessary steps to complete.

Klaus location in Black Ops 7 Zombies Ashes of the Damned

Klaus is located in a jail cell in the Sheriff's Office in Ashwood, which is the central location in the infinity symbol-shaped map. This location can be reached quite quickly once you're past the initial stages of the map and have gotten Ol' Tessie on the move.

While you'll find Klaus at this location, there's not much you can do immediately. Keep proceeding with the initial stages of the map and clearing waves of zombies till you can reach the Janus Towers location, which is where you originally spawned in, and the furthest north part of the map. That's where we will be able to proceed with the next part of the quests.

Once you're back at Janus Towers, head towards Blackwood Lake, and an Uber Klaus will spawn near you by bursting out of a crate. This happens every time, and there's no way for you to avoid it if you're completing the quests, so you'll know you're on the right path when it spawns.

You'll have to eliminate the Uber Klaus to get the Stabilizer Chip from it. This isn't an easy task, but you can make the job easier by coordinating with your teammates or keeping your distance to gun it down.

Once you get the Stabilizer Chip, head back to where Klaus is held. Enter the chip in the jail cell, but there's still one task left: you'll have to throw stun grenades at him. Once you hit the correct spot, he will end up getting concussed. This will allow him to regain his conscience, and he will join you as an ally for the rest of your adventure.

Not only is adding Klaus going to be immensely helpful for your journey, but it's vital for obtaining the new Necrofluid Gauntlet Wonder Weapon as well.

Reba's Diner in Black Ops 7 Zombies

The Abomination Heads Hood upgrade is one of the best ones to mount on Ol' Tessie in Black Ops 7 Zombies, but finding it will take a significant bit of effort.

Activision has made it pretty hard for you to do much after you complete the Pack-a-Punch upgrade on Ol'Tessie. As useful as it is, there are plenty of more upgrades to mount and install on your faithful vehicle in the war against the undead.

This guide will quickly tell you all the steps required to get the Abomination Heads Hood mounted on Ol'Tessie.

How to install Abomination Heads Hood on Ol' Tessie in BO7 Ashes of the Damned

You'll need to complete a fair amount of progress on your round before you can come close to getting the Abomination Heads Hood upgrade. This includes going through the Server Room, clearing Infestations on two locations, and proceeding further till you reach Exit 115.

Exit 115 has several POIs, with one of them being Reba's Diner. Reach the Diner and stand there till zombies start attacking you. Kill them, and you should get the key to a nearby freezer. The key drop is completely random, but it shouldn't take too long, but make sure you're killing zombies at Reba's Diner to get it to drop.

What to do with the Abomination Carcass in BO7 Ashes of the Damned

Once you get the key, open the freezer, and you'll get the Abomination Carcass (a part of its head). Pick it up from the location, and bring it back safely with you to the garage in Ashwood where you can then mount the upgrade on Ol' Tessie.

This upgrade is pretty cool since it adds Abomination Heads on the hood of Ol' Tessie. However, it's not just a visual update as Ol' Tessie can fire a powerful beam to clear any undead caught on its path, but attack takes time to recharge, so don't spam it unnecessarily.

The map below shows all of the main POI's you will need to know about when navigating Ashes of the Damned:

If you're just starting out in Ashes of the Damned, your first task is to get the Pack-a-Punch upgrade installed on Ol' Tessie.

Ray Gun in Black Ops 7 Zombies

The Ray Gun is one of the three wonder weapons available on the Damned of the Ashes map in Black Ops 7 Zombies, but finding one could be tricky.

The method to obtain the gun remains pretty much the same as Black Ops 6 Zombies. With the easter eggs now live on Ashes of the Damned, you can get one based on your luck. Let's look at how you can find this wonder weapon to add to your loadout.

How to obtain the Ray Gun in Black Ops 7 Zombies in Ashes of the Damned

The basic method is pretty simple, but it relies heavily on luck. Once you're past the Server Room location and enter the first area, you'll find Mystery Boxes. These boxes work just like last year, where you'll have to spend a certain amount of Essence on every pull. In return, you'll get a weapon of a random tier.

Typically, the Ray Gun has the lowest chance to spawn, as it's a wonder weapon. However, you can obtain it if you're lucky enough. You can have more tries if you fail the first time. Do keep track of the Essence you're spending since they're required for other tasks like unlocking doors.

To raise your chances of success, you can consume a GobbleGum that raises your spawn luck. This will significantly increase the odds of getting the Ray Gun. That said, it's not a guaranteed method, so only try this if you have enough Essence and are desperate to find the wonder weapon.

While getting the Ray Gun will make it easier for you to manage the zombies, you can do the same by using meta weapons that work well against the undead. There was another method during the beta, which involved feeding Chompy. If there's any other way to obtain the Ray Gun, we will update on our guide.

Matriarch in ARC Raiders

Upgrading your workstations is a crucial step in progressing in ARC Raiders. Doing so unlocks better weapons and gear that you can take with you topside, ensuring you get out with the best loot possible.

However, these upgrades are never so easy, precisely because of how good they are. One such requires ARC Motion Cores, a seemingly common item given how many ARCs are on every map.

If you're searching for this item, here's how you can substantially increase your odds of finding it.

Where to find ARC Motion Core

ARC Raiders gameplay screenshot where players are shooting a Bastion
Bastions are a prime candidate for finding many ARC Motion Cores. Image via Embark Studios

ARC Motion Cores are a relatively rare drop, usually found when looting the remains of a downed ARC. Not all ARCs have an equal proclivity towards dropping ARC Motion Cores, and it is the more powerful and difficult ones that usually do it.

Given that they go up in a million pieces - each of which can drop an ARC Motion Core - Bastions are a good candidate for mass farming these items. The more you damage the thing, the more parts will fall off it, and each of these is a separate loot "container" that can have an ARC Motion Core within.

Bastions are weak from behind and susceptible to explosive damage, so carrying a few Fireball Burners, Wolfpacks, and other explosives will make quick work of this otherwise massive ARC.

Additionally, ARC Motion Cores can be found within destroyed ARCs that spawn around every map in the game. Each time you come across one, make sure to check it out, as it can contain one. ARC Probes, the thing that makes all those weird sounds, whether crashed or still standing, almost always have one ARC Motion Core in them, so if you ever hear that weird beeping, you should immediately check what it has inside.

Other ARCs like Bombardiers, Rocketeers, Queens, Surveyors, and Sentinels can also contain them and have a good tendency to drop one or more when killed.

BO7 Zombies Ashes of the Damned

Call of Duty's Zombies mode is back in Black Ops 7, and it's deeper than ever. But the classic round-based experience is represented well, and it's got a great map to start things off.

Ashes of the Damned is the biggest CoD Zombies map ever, and it's quite daunting at first. It's so big, you need a vehicle to go from place to place, and that's where Ol' Tessie comes in handy. The pick-up truck can be suped up to fire a cannon and also house the Pack-a-Punch machine!

Once you've gotten Ol' Tessie on the move, it's time to start hunting down Perk-a-Colas so you can stay alive in the onslaught of zombies to come. Here's a map to help figure out where each perk is located.

BO7 Zombies - Ashes of the Damned Perk locations

There are six total points of interest on Ashes of the Damned, and they all have Perk-a-Cola machines.

  • Janus Towers (spawn point)

    • Quick Revive
    • Der Wunderfizz

      • This only spawns after you have acquired four different Perks.

  • Vandorn Farm

    • Stamin-Up
    • Death Perception

  • Ashwood

    • Juggernog
    • Vulture Aid
    • Double Tap

  • Zarya Cosmodrome

    • PHD Flopper
    • Wisp Tea

  • Exit 115

    • Elemental Pop
    • Deadshot Daiqiri

  • Blackwater Lake

    • Melee Macchiato
    • Speed Cola

Each location has items like Arsenals, Crafting Tables, Ammo Caches, GobbleGum Machines, and Door Buys to get into certain areas. Make sure you stock up on your Perks before leaving, though, and use this map above to plan out your assault as you drive around the infinity symbol-shaped location.

A man hitting another with a golf club in Fallout New Vegas.

In the past few days, we've gotten wind of a potential Fallout 3 remaster that's in the works. The 17-year-old game certainly deserves it, as a lot of its parts could use some polish, especially at the engine level. But it appears another remaster is coming, too - New Vegas.

Having released around the same time as Fallout 3, New Vegas is, in my humble opinion, the best Fallout in existence. It was made by much of the same people who made Fallout 1 and 2, and has impeccable writing and role-play elements that have withstood the test of time in the past decade and a half.

New Vegas
New Vegas is the best Fallout out there. Image via Bethesda

But what didn't withstand any test either at the time or now is the game's engine (which Bethesda still uses, by the way). The game was made in about a year under incredible pressure and a super short deadline that meant optimization and polish had to be set aside. It ran poorly back then, and it runs horribly even now, perhaps more so due to incompatibilities between older software and the current Windows OS.

The community has made countless unofficial patches in the hopes of fixing this, and has largely done a good job of doing so. But crashes, bugs, and all sorts of problems persist, and represent just about the only flaw New Vegas has. So, thankfully, it appears Bethesda is going to remaster the game, that is according to Jez Corden, one of the most reputable Microsoft insiders and leakers out there.

https://twitter.com/JezCorden/status/1988616821067366658

He casually dropped this leak in the replies of a random tweet, missing the spotlight because of that.

He didn't provide much else to go off of, but I will take anything I can get. However, Bethesda's own executives have, on numerous occasions, hinted at various Fallout projects that are in the works, which could be remasters, remakes, or Fallout 5, lending credence to every Fallout-related theory out there.

New Vegas is nearly a perfect game, but having the chance to play it properly on modern systems would be a dream come true. Of course, Bethesda isn't a company known for fixing things as much as breaking them, but New Vegas can't be broken more than it already is.

The only thing that could surpass this remaster is if Bethesda remade Fallout 1 and 2 as fully-fledged 3D games built in the Creation Engine like its other games. That'd be news of the decade, but also inspire a lot of fear that these two games would meet the same technical fate as other games produced by the company.

All in all, the New Vegas remaster seems to be coming along, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Android in ARC Raiders

The North Line update has added plenty of new content in ARC Raiders, and the Flow Controller and Magnetron are leaving many players puzzled.

If you have been completing the Stella Montis quests, you'll need both. Both Exodus items are available from the Stella Montis map, but they don't have a guaranteed spawn point. To make matters worse, their spawns appear to be quite rare to begin with, and they can already get looted on a raid if you're unlucky.

Nevertheless, this guide will help to ease your pain by raising the chances of finding both items on a raid.

Where to get the Flow Controller in ARC Raiders

It's essential to keep one point in mind: there's absolutely no guaranteed spawn point of either the Flow Controller or the Magnetron. The locations I have mentioned here are spots where I managed to find the two items. Flow Controller appears to be the more common one, as I managed to find it more often.

Medical Research POI in ARC Raiders

The best area for finding the Flow Controller is the Medical Research POI in the south-west part of the map. This POI is plenty big in size, and many containers to loot. I have found three Flow Controllers so far in the area, but not from one spot.

The Medical Research POI appears to be the community's favorite as well. It seems to be heavily looted by players, so you'll need to keep that in mind. Also, you can technically find the Flow Controller in other areas on the map. Ultimately, it boils down to your luck, but the Medical Research area is the best one to search in.

Where to get Magnetron in ARC Raiders

Finding the Magnetron has been a bit of a nightmare for me. I managed to find only one so far, enough to complete the Snap and Salvage quest. It was in one of the drawers near the Security Desk at the Lobby. Since then, I haven't managed to find it anywhere else on the map.

If there's a popular spot for the Magnetron, I will update it on my guide. Until then, you'll have to look hard and wide to find this item (and the Flow Controller).

The logo for Valve's online gaming platform, Steam

Valve has officially learned to count to three (or four, whatever) and is releasing a trio of new devices, one of which is the reincarnation of the Steam Machine. This pre-built SteamOS-running PC is a form factor option for plug-and-play gaming, and could very well be the best thing to happen to PCs in a long time.

What sets PC apart from consoles is, of course, versatility. Consoles are built for purpose—they are gaming machines meant for doing little more than running video games and providing a more laidback, casual, couch experience. PCs are basically everything else. Every modern technology of our time was probably designed on a PC. It's a fundamental tool, one that can adapt to any scenario, circumstance, or use case you could think of.

A Sony PlayStation 5 Pro console and DualShock controller on a dark gray background.
Consoles have dominated casual couch gaming for decades, but that could be about to change. Image via BBC

And versatility breeds variance. No two PCs are alike, not even two containing the exact same component models. Silicon lotteries determine if our PC is a bit better or worse than another of the same make-up, and no two people are going to have the exact same experience using their PCs.

Though that may be actually quite an excellent thing, it's a fundamental barrier for many game developers today, especially those who are creating games under tight deadlines, using the most advanced, demanding solutions in existence.

The sheer vastness of the PC sphere creates difficulties for studios when it comes to optimization, as there is never a baseline that they are supposed to optimize for. Optimizing for one set of components does not mean the game will work, function, or perform the same on others. Having to pick and choose numerous combinations to orient around leads to developers overworking, overthinking, and ultimately failing to optimize their games, especially if they want all the bells and whistles enabled.

Consoles are set in place - developers know at all times what they can and cannot do with them. The fixed configurations provide an environment in which any given game is supposed to exist, and it's easy to orient around them. But there is no such thing in PCs - the platform heralded as the stronger, more capable, and always more performative.

And that's where the Steam Machine comes into play.

The Steam Machine.
The Second Coming of the Steam Machine has massive potential and carries strong implications for the future of the industry. Image via Valve

This little Gabe Cube, if it were to take off properly, could become the new PC baseline. Its power is approximately the same as the base PS5, and it carries semi-custom components that are somewhat tailor-made to fit its design. It could be the new orienteer for developers that want to expand into the PC market, and a configuration they would always look to as the "average" PC.

Optimizing for this mid-range baseline would benefit the vast majority of players, who usually carry mid-range components in their rigs, somewhat as or more capable than the PS5 itself.

If it grew popular enough, the Steam Machine could dictate the new technological level of video games and be the guiding light amid a sea of varying and diverse builds, all of which are on the same or higher level as the Machine. It's a great starting point, and one that could spell the end of the unoptimized AAA game that we've become uncomfortably accustomed to.

The creation of a new ecosystem where things "just work," as the head of Bethesda would say, also carries a lot of implications. Things could be tailor-made for Steam, and they somewhat will be through the "Steam Machine Verified" label that Valve itself would check for.

The company is ensuring people who own these devices actually can play the game sold to them, which itself gives developers the extra reason to optimize their games and provide at least a "Steam Machine" graphical preset.

Developers would still need to put the effort in, though. We've seen games run poorly on the PS5 and Xbox, too. But these are rare cases, few and very far between. When devs know what to expect, understand what it is they're working with, creating a well-optimized product becomes an afterthought for them. It reduces the complexity and incessant thinking of what a growing and advancing market would need a month from now.

The Steam Machine would come, be, and remain as such for probably a good while, and shine light on the darkness of technological development that bogs the minds of developers great and small.

It's a massive opportunity for PC gaming, and I hope it turns out great.

BO7 Multiplayer Mason gameplay

Skill-based matchmaking has been a hot-button issue in the Call of Duty community for many years now. In Black Ops 7, it's being talked about again, but for different reasons.

Since Modern Warfare launched in 2019, SBMM has been on everybody's minds, with many players feeling as though the game actively punished them for performing well by placing them against higher-skilled opponents to keep things on an even keel. But now, in 2025, the talk about SBMM got so loud that Treyarch and Activision made a move.

Here's everything there is to know about SBMM in Black Ops 7.

Is there SBMM in BO7?

BO7 masked operator
Image via Activision

Black Ops 7 has two different types of multiplayer playlists called Open and Standard. In Open playlists, "skill is minimally considered," meaning skill-based matchmaking or SBMM is nonexistent.

In Standard playlists, "skill is an important consideration," so you may find an experience similar to previous CoD titles where SBMM reigned supreme. I've been enjoying my time in Open playlists, but if you want to try it out, go for it.

Screenshot by Destructoid

The image above illustrates the icon for Open playlists with no SBMM, and it can be toggled in the multiplayer matchmaking menu between that and Standard. If you want to play without SBMM, play in the Open playlists.

Treyarch will likely experiment with different Standard playlists to see what players prefer and make a decision on what to do from there. When Ranked Play launches in season two, SBMM will be enabled, but that makes sense because it's a competitive playlist.

In normal Quick Play game modes in Open playlist, though, SBMM is tuned down considerably, and matches feel more random than ever when it comes to who you are matched with and against. This means things like connection are more important when it comes to matching you up in games, and that's a great thing.

Get out there and have some fun, CoD gamers. Your sweatband and exercise clothes are no longer required attire...for now.
