You see, the series is bringing in some new rules governing what its cars will look like and how they'll perform, meaning there's more potential on paper for serious changes to the established pecking order. Given that, I'm a bit unsure how to feel about EA and Codemasters having announced they're not making an F1 26, instead skipping ahead to 2027 with a DLC to fill the gap. |

Square Enix announced on social media that people who are traveling through two US airports will be able to test out the demo for Octopath Traveler 0 while they wait. It is now live in the Gameway: Video Game Lounges in Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in Los Angeles, CA and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City, NY. The latest JRPG in the series will be available to test until December 9, 2025.
This means there are currently four spots where people can test the Octopath Traveler 0 demo in an airport without a console like a Switch or Switch 2 or handheld like a Steam Deck. In JFK, you'll see it at the location near Terminal 5's Gate 7 and Terminal 8's Gate 8. If you are at LAX, Terminal 3 hosts one close to Gate 30B and Terminal 6 features one not far from Gate 65B.
The demo that is at these two airports is the one that is available on digital storefronts. So if someone owns a Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, they can sample that same trial on their devices. That is likely the best approach, as the save files can carry over. Each demo experience only lasts three hours, so make sure you have time to get through as much as possible when you start.
Octopath Traveler 0 will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on December 4, 2025, and the demo is live on storefronts and playable at Gameway: Video Game Lounges in LAX and JFK in the US.

The GameStop Black Friday 2025 ad is online, and as usual it highlights deals on Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X games and holiday console bundles. While some deals will be in effect early and active now until November 22, 2025, others might not kick in until November 23, 2025. Black Friday itself is November 28, 2025, and GameStop physical stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day.
In many cases, the items in the GameStop Black Friday 2025 ad apply to already announced official deals from Nintendo and Sony for the Switch, Switch 2, and PS5. This means the PlayStation Portal is $179.99, DualSense controllers are $59.99, some amiibo are $10 off, there's a PS5 NBA 2K26 bundle for $449.99 instead of $549.99, and some select Nintendo first-party games are $29.99 or $39.99.
There are also select deals in effect until November 22, 2025. Some games are either $20 or less or $30 or less. Pre-owned PS4 and Xbox One consoles are $25 off. There's also a buy two, get one free offer on board games, trading card accessories, figures and statues, Funko Pop figures, and "homeware." Some shirts are $10, some hoodies and sweaters are $30.
As for games, here are some of the most notable GameStop Black Friday 2025 sales.
Black Friday 2025 falls on November 28, 2025.

PlayStation 5 console and accessory prices went up in 2025 worldwide as a result of tariffs, but Sony announced its Black Friday 2025 sales will bring the PS5 and items like its Dualsense controllers back to their old costs or lower. There will also be Fortnite Flowering Chaos console bundles that will involve a console-exclusive that will only be on the PS5 until November 26, 2025, and that gives 1,000 V-Bucks and special cosmetics. Discounts will start appearing on November 21, 2025, while Black Friday itself this year starts November 28, 2025.
First, here are some of the console and accessory deals we can expect. Sony didn't mention exact Black Friday 2025 PS5 prices on the PlayStation Blog and the Cloudflare outage earlier today got in the way a bit, but here are some of the prices we can expect to see. In general, we get $100 off of consoles and the PSVR 2, then about $20 off accessories like a DualSense or Access controller or Portal.
Sony also confirmed Black Friday 2025 deals will be in effect for PlayStation Plus. It noted there will be a 33% discount on 12-month memberships and a 33% discount on upgrading to a higher tier. So it should be about $53.59 for a year of Essential, $90.44 for a year of Extra, and $107.19 for Premium.
Black Friday 2025 is November 28, 2025, and the PS5 console deals and PlayStation accessory sales will be available direct through PlayStation and other retailers.

There are times when I'm not sure I enjoy playing Demonschool. The artistic direction is fantastic and I like the general idea. While not laugh-out-loud funny, sometimes the quips in it make me smile. Demonschool also feels like more of a callback to the classic PlayStation Persona games, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, the combat system never clicked with me, a lot of elements aren't explained well, and the constant drive to force as many jokes into every conversation left it all feeling a bit offputting.
The world is about to end. Faye was trained by her demon hunter grandfather who passed down a prophesy that in 2000, demons would break through the barrier into the real world. It suggested she needed to be at a certain island at a specific time, ideally with some descendants of fellow warriors and supernatural families, to strike back. She even meets one of them, Namako, on the ferry to attend the university there. Something is clearly up there, and her and her Black Magic Club will need to balance assignments, assaults by gangsters and demons, and life to survive.
The tone of Demonschool is a little unusual, and I'm not sure it will suit everyone. It feels like characters sometimes fall into one of two categories: exuberant Shonen Jump protagonists passionate about everything and serious skeptics who maybe don't want to be there. Like Faye, Destin, and Ti? They'd love hanging out with Luffy, Naruto, and Yuji. Knute, Namako, and Aina? I think they'd rather not. The story is interesting and concept is fine, but sometimes I wish there wasn't constant attempts to pack as many one-liners as possible into every conversation. I get that it's always been described as a "light horror" game, but the writing started to feel more like a sitcom than an RPG infused with humor at perfect moments. Because of that, I often felt like Necrosoft was trying too hard to make characters funny than offer actual development for any of them.
Like the Persona series, Demonschool follows a schedule leading up to this apocalypse over a series of weeks. Each week there's an assignment, and not completing it by the weekend means being sent to jail and the world being in grave danger. Each day is split into morning, afternoon, and evening time periods, and you'll be able to fast travel to spots on the map to talk to people, take on side quests, train, and advance the story. Areas of note will feature an icon reminding you that you can head there for a certain interaction or to take on a quest. While each week does feature the idea of getting an assignment done by the weekend, Demonschool involved more of the concept of time-sensitive pressure, rather than actual deadlines like the sorts found in Persona 3, 4, and 5 or the Atelier series. I never found myself in a situation where it seemed like there was any danger of not getting the campaign quest completed in time.
When you enter a side quest or campaign mission, it will typically involve some conversations and a battle. This involves putting four characters in your party into the field and fighting until X number of enemies are defeated or the boss is downed so you can "seal" things off. Each character has a designated role. So someone like Faye, Destin, and Mercy are going to be attackers. While Namako can attack, she is a debuffer that can freeze and weaken enemies primarily. Knute the pacifist doesn't attack, but can heal allies (and also debuff if you buy and learn the right techniques). Characters can only move in straight lines a certain number of tiles from where they are, though you can sidestep to the left or right as essentially a "free" movement. Ideally, you want to use a debuffer like Namako to arrange enemies into the right positions and weaken them, then use someone like Destin to attack a whole group at once. If you're especially lucky and an ally is nearby in the process, that can trigger them to attack too. When you hit the defeated foe quota, you can send one person to the opposite end of the map to start the "sealing" process to end the fight. (Boss fights end automatically once the big bad is defeated.) There's no experience system or leveling up, so characters remain locked at three HP and stats won't increase, but you can equip them with things like up to three Techniques that can grant them buffs like healing if they walk on poison or more rewards for beating enemies, the ability to push allies with attacks, or for a healer to debuff enemies with healing.
The thing is, I dislike the Demonschool combat system. It's poorly explained, as you won't realize it's an immediate "game over" if enemies reach the "barrier" on your side of the field twice until it happens once. I might work out the "perfect" moves and approach for the first turn of a fight, but then the appearance of the next hordes would be such that nobody was in a good spot to set up solid combos after that. The nature of it also means everything often takes much longer than it needs to. Encounters usually are manageable and I'd even say easy, but because I'd be bumbling around the screen trying to reach enemies, buff attackers/debuff demons, and set up combos to take out as many as possible in one turn, it'd take forever. The first boss? Due to its teleporting mechanic every round and constant summoning of demons trying to reach the human world if I didn't have someone back there to attack them, it took me over half an hour to beat. Some side quest missions will flood the map with foes, making it difficult to see where your allies or optimal targets are. And while we do get a wealth of allies, the "sweet" spot with a party seems to be two attackers, one debuffer, and one healer, which meant I tended to rely on the starting group of Faye, Namako, Destin, and Knute and didn't really give folks who joined after like Mercy and Aina a chance unless forced since, unlike the initial four, Necrosoft doesn't do as good of a job explaining those newcomers' specialties and why they should be used instead.
At times, I felt like genuine difficulty was abandoned in favor of overwhelming a player with hordes of enemies without any explanation as to what some of them were capable of until they did it and ruined your plans. It never felt like it flowed well when I played. I never had these sorts of issues in games like Into the Breach, Fantaland, TMNT Tactical Takedown, and Fights in Tight Spaces, which all balance movement and defeating enemies in a similar sort of way. The best way I can explain it is that I felt like Necrosoft wanted each Demonschool battle to feel like a tactical puzzle with a correct "answer" for each encounter, but the execution usually makes that impossible. On the plus side, if you fail a battle, you can immediately opt to either replay it or skip it, so you get an "out" and can keep going regardless of your success.
It's a shame the combat system didn't click with me, as the rest of the execution of Demonschool generally feels pretty great and like the classic Revelations: Persona or Persona 2 perspective and atmosphere paired with some of the more modern entries' relationship and character building mechanics. The environmental designs are fantastic, as are the character portraits. It really looks cool and, when I wasn't fighting, I really enjoyed the "daily life/investigation" gameplay mechanics, even though I never felt any scheduling pressure since taking a side quest or engaging in a minigame or activity wouldn't advance the time of day. Once you get past the first week, you start to get more side quests, relationship-building, and character building opportunities, which I enjoyed too.
There is a slight downside to that however, and it is again that I feel like certain concepts aren't introduced well enough or sometimes at all. For example, we can assign party members to study certain abilities that can be equipped to do things like make a person immune to the "Tether" effect. A message will pop up saying when that unlocks. But… how to study isn't explained well, leaving you to hopefully tab over to it in the menu and happen upon it yourself. You can buy better furniture for the club room, but it isn't explained why you should. (It's cosmetic.) There will be opportunities to do things like toss coins in a fountain or shrine! Why? Just do it for maybe a different response each day! (You can get techniques this way, so it is worth it.) You can fish and collect different fish, but why? (Types are added to a compendium and you unlock an additional fishing spot and quests in that line.)
Due to the nature of Demonschool's release, I've also been playing it for a while. Primarily on PC, though I did play on Switch a bit closer to launch. Since the bulk of my time was on PC, this review is based on that. (It works fine on the Switch too, though the font is a bit small there.) I've seen a lot of bugs come and go, with Necrosoft patching a bunch of them along the way. But there are still quite a few in there. Oddly, one of the ones I found most annoying will put a "new" note next to a location even if there is nothing actually "new" there. So you might still see an issue or two too. I haven't personally encountered it, since I didn't get that particular ending on my playthrough, but I was warned one ending is in need of a patch due to a "loop" in it, so keep an eye out for that until the developer shares a fix for it. I was hoping that the delay meant all issues would be fixed by launch, but at least I haven't experienced save issues in weeks.
Demonschool is definitely going to be a "your mileage may vary" kind of game, and I suspect fans of classic Persona games or Necrosoft titles may end up appreciating it most. The art direction and design looks gorgeous. The concept is good, and handling demons each week leading up to a possible apocalypse is interesting. But it does feel more like the script takes more cues from sitcoms than dramas with occasional comedic moments, which may not appeal to everyone. This take on a tactical combat system also involves some design choices that might be off-putting and not appeal to everyone. It's an interesting concept for a game, but also quite niche.
Demonschool will appear on the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on November 19, 2025.

Sammy Networks has revealed that it will release a mobile version of God Eater Resurrection Pachi-Slot. The company has also opened pre-registrations for the app, which will be available via Apple App Store for iOS devices and Google Play Store for Android devices in early December 2025. The mobile pachinko game will be available as a paid app at 3,480 yen (~$22.40).
Sammy also noted that this mobile app will be based on the same pachinko machine that Yamasa Next released in July 2024. The original God Eater Resurrection video game appeared in 2015 for PlayStation 4 and Vita as a remake of the first game that Bandai Namco released for PlayStation Portable in 2010.
Yamasa Next has been known for producing pachinko versions of well-known video game entries. In 2021, it released a pachi-slot machine based on the first Fatal Frame entry. Most recently, the company is planning to release a new pachi-slot based on Tekken 6 in January 2026.
God Eater Resurrection Pachi-Slot will be available for iOS and Android mobile devices in Japan on December 2, 2025. The pachi-slot game is also originally available in pachinko parlors across the country. The original God Eater Resurrection video game is readily available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC via Steam.

Pre-orders for a Final Fantasy XIV SoundSlayer SC-GNW-10S-FF gaming neck speaker have opened up on the Panasonic Japan website. It'll cost 35,200 JPY ($226.80). We'll see it launch on December 11, 2025, and it's unknown if we'll see it in other regions.
Everything about the speaker, including the app you can use to personalize or adjust the settings, is for the Final Fantasy XIV fan. Both the app and the speaker are covered with icons that are familiar with those who play the game, and the app even includes a little Moogle popping in and out. You can change the color of the lamp and the app background to match your role or playstyle. For example, if you play a Healer, you can set the lamp and the app to be green.
This is not the first time that Panasonic released a Final Fantasy XIV SoundSlayer. Another version of it came out in 2022, though it was another model. That one had a different design for both the speaker and the box it comes in. The box for the 2025 version has a map on the back and the key visual for Dawntrail on the front.
The Final Fantasy XIV SoundSlayer neck speaker will come out on December 11, 2025, and it'll be available until December 2026 while supplies last. Final Fantasy XIV is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.

The Week 4 Trials are now live in ARC Raiders, and you have the next few days to three-star the tasks at hand.
The fourth week of trials has five tasks on offer. While some of them are relatively easy, others can be done quickly if you're efficient. This guide will briefly explain how to complete all the tasks that are part of the trial.
Table of contents
How to get 3 stars in ARC Raiders Week 4 Trials
Week 4 Trials will be running until Nov. 24, and have five tasks.
Before I deep dive further, it's important to note that all five tasks can be completed across all four maps (apart from Stella Montis). However, I have tried to complete the tasks and obtain three stars in the quickest time possible. Hence, most of the tasks are best completed at Dam Battlegrounds.
Damage Leapers
This is the easiest of all five tasks, as you only have to damage a Leaper. If you want, you can kill them to get useful resources, but that isn't necessary. Doing more damage is going to improve your rank, so that's something you should remember. I have marked the common locations where Leapers hang out on the Dam Battlegrounds.
My favorite spot is the area between the Water Treatment Complex building and the nearby lift, since there's a bunker from where you can consistently target the Leaper without taking damage.
Damage Queens and Matriarchs
I have once again opted for the Dam Battlegrounds map for finding a Queen/Matriarch. You'll need to damage one when you spot it on the map. It's not necessary to kill a Queen/Matriarch, but you should still be careful when you spot one. The Matriarch also depends on its own event, unlike the Queen.
The best spot out of all maps is in the Red Lakes, where you're almost guaranteed to find either a Queen or a Matriarch at almost all times.
Harvest Plants
The best strategy is to wait for the Lush Bloom event to take place, which makes the job extremely easy. If you're unwilling to do so, the Olive Grove garden to the south of Blue Gate is the best spot. You can find plenty of Olives and Lemons that are required to upgrade Scrappy at the location. There's a nearby extraction point, along with a cellar that opens with keys.
Open ARC Probes
To complete this task, you'll have to open ARC Probes. The easiest way to complete the task is to open the ones that can be found lying on the ground. However, be careful when trying to open them since they make noise that can attract other ARC enemies.
Damage Flying ARC enemies
This is the easiest task of all five, as all you need to do is bring down flying ARC enemies. Again, destroying them isn't necessary, but you can do so for more points. Try to avoid elite enemies like Rocketeers if you don't want to endanger yourself.

I have no idea how NetEase Games is able to release a whole new character in Marvel Rivals every month, but I think the devs outdid themselves in season five.
Since launching last year on Dec. 6, 2025, Marvel Rivals has added a large batch of new heroes in Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, The Thing, Emma Frost, Ultron, Phoenix, Blade, Angela, Daredevil, and now Gambit. And for my money, Gambit is the most fun and well-designed one so far, by a long shot.
Gambit is by far the best and most exciting Strategist in the game right now after launching last week, and I don't think that's recency bias (or regular bias either, even though he's my second favorite X-Men member). It's no shock to see a new hero be a top performer, but I've been playing him as much as possible, and he feels so much better to play than everyone else in the role. It's almost embarrassing.
The super-powerful Cajun mutant uses both his powered-up playing cards and staff to create the most varied, flexible, and enjoyable kit yet. His basic attack both heals and deals damage in a three-card burst, but his Healing Hearts and Breaking Spades abilities give him four different moves where there are normally two.
Triggering Healing Hearts brings up two options: Bridge Boost, which chain heals allies nearby, or Purifying Pickup, which cleanses debuffs. Breaking Spades, meanwhile, offers either Explosive Trick to inflict reduced healing on enemies, or Bidding Barrage that throws cards in an arc and explodes to launch enemies up.
Gambit's movement and close-range combat are also pretty flexible. He can charge forward and spin around with his staff, and then slam his staff on the ground, healing allies AND dealing damage to enemies.
His ultimate? It clears the whole Strategist roster. Ragin' Royal Flush heals, purifies, gives movement speed and a boost to jump height, and gives a targeted ally ultimate charge acceleration. And so I'm thinking, yeah, he's probably a bit too strong, kit-wise.
Gambit is easy to play, but mastering him takes a lot of resource management since he can only use his abilities if he has the cards that are shown on his UI. His other main downfall is that anyone who plays him usually tries to just play DPS with him, even though he's a healer. But man, he's just so damn good and so fun. And I have no idea how NetEase is going to top it. But I think I know how they can.
Next season's two new heroes have already been teased in a lore card to be the monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone, and the "Merc With a Mouth," Deadpool. The latter hero is where I hope the company has some fun, as he's a slapstick comedian who's also deadly with katanas and guns, but his penchant for breaking the fourth wall creates a lot of possibilities for ridiculousness, and I hope they fully lean into it.
Marvel Rivals' next hero for season five, Rogue, launches in early December, and all signs point to her being a Vanguard. If she's half as fun as her beau Remy LeBeau (heh), then we're in for some good times over the holidays and for the game's first anniversary.

Superheroes doing super-mundane stuff? Sure, why not!
Dispatch puts you in control of Robert Robertson, formerly known as Mecha Man, as his mech has been sidelined in the narrative decision game from AdHoc Studio. The dev is comprised of many TellTale Games devs, so you know what to expect in this title going into it. As Robert, it's your job to work as dispatch to send heroes around town to take care of various crimes and wrongdoings.
Dispatch made big headlines with some of its voice cast announcements, including Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul voicing the main character, but he's just the beginning of the impressive list of voices. Here's all of the voice actors we know of in the game's first (and maybe only) season.

The latest and greatest shooter game has arrived, and Raiders everywhere are heading topside for loot while dealing with massive robotic threats and other humans.
Welcome to ARC Raiders, where your experience is only as good as the loot you find, the teammates you befriend, or the enemies you make in a post-apocalyptic world taken over by terrifying robotic enemies called ARC.
The new game from Embark Studios (makers of The Finals) is off to a big start despite releasing around several other big-name shooter games. But just how many players are logging on for expeditions to find loot and fight bots?
Here's everything we know so far about how many players are playing ARC Raiders.
ARC Raiders concurrent players
In the hours following ARC Raiders' launch on Oct. 30, 2025, over 200,000 players were online on Steam, but the game has only grown from there. The number ballooned to its current all-time peak of 481,966 players on Nov. 16, increasing its high count for the third consecutive weekend. This does not include players on PS5 or Xbox, so the overall number is likely way larger.
You can see the active concurrent player count on any Steam game by checking out the game's Community Hub page. A website known as SteamDB also tracks concurrent players and shows a history of it, so you can stay tuned with how many players are online at any given time on Steam. But as far as other platforms go, that information is not readily available.
For official full player count numbers, Embark Studios will likely have to reveal or make an announcement since concurrent players are not public knowledge. But the game's success on day one bodes well for more players to join in over the coming weeks and months as the game expands with new content and story beats.
Congrats to Embark on a successful launch, and be prepared to see that number climb steadily very soon.
This article will be updated with more up-to-date information when it becomes available.

It's almost time for yearly Christmas movie binge season, and that means timeless classics like Elf, A Christmas Story, and of course, the Home Alone movies.
I believe in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York supremacy, but I also think Home Alone 3 is underrated as heck (scalding hot take, I know). Anyway, this new game coming out in early 2026 is described as being "Home Alone-inspired" and has some beta tests coming up to celebrate it, and after a quick look at the gameplay, I'm very interested.
The game is called Bandit Trap, and it's a three-vs-one action title where three players play as bandits attempting to rob a house of its riches, while one robot defends the place with traps and mayhem. Hell yeah.
"Every match makes for an unpredictable and comedic competition: smash through walls, flood rooms, or even freeze entire house floors in the pursuit of victory," a new press release said. "Trappers can unleash creative contraptions to fling or flatten Bandits, whilst the Bandits bob and weave through the chaos to nab loot and escape in one piece. With destructible environments and dynamic gameplay, no two matches will ever be the same."
It's got a silly art style and fun character design, and I'm sure laying the traps will feel devious and challenging when going up against three others. But honestly? I don't know if I'm brave enough to test friendships in what will surely end up as a catastrophic shouting match with certain people I know.
Either way, the gameplay teaser below shows what Bandit Trap is all about and I think it's got some potential to be the next multiplayer-with-friends bonanza when it drops in a couple of months.
You can request access to be a part of the upcoming Bandit Trap tests on Steam, one from Nov. 27 to 30 and another from Dec. 5 to 7, ahead of its launch on PC and consoles on Feb. 6, 2026.
