We've seen a lot of Demon Lord 2099, as Yen Press picked up both the original light novel and later manga adaptation and the anime is on Crunchyroll. Still, it might not be a household name in the same way other villain manga and anime series are. Which is a shame, as the take on the story and concept feels quite unique and the manga omnibus that's now available in English makes it easy to see a complete story. It really highlights how clever Daigo Murasaki's idea is.
Editor's Note: There will be some mild spoilers for the Demon Lord 2099 manga below.
While Demon Lord 2099 is a futuristic villain manga and anime set in Shinjuku, it also includes elements of high fantasy. Veltol Velvet Velsvalt was an immortal demon lord in Alnaeth in 1599. That's when he was defeated by a hero named Gram. Since he is immortal, he'd eventually be back with a second chance. Except when he does return, it's after a 2023 fusion between worlds that combined Alnaeth with Earth. That means the result is a melting pot of magic and technology. Not many immortals survived it, as a result, especially with magic being illegal in city limits. However, his subordinate Machina Soleige did and performed the Methenoel needed to awaken him.
Of course, since Veltol is a demon lord, his priority is to continue what he started and ascend to a leadership position once again. But as he is starting from scratch in an entirely new world, we get this fantastic situation from Murasaki that involves adjusting to the way things are now and how people he knew might have changed. Marcus, another demon lord from his time period, is already present in the world. As he was awake, he made moves to get himself into the sort of position of power that an overlord would take in this sort of modern time period: CEO of a company called Ishimaru Heavy Magical Industries.
Since Veltol's own power depends on that of followers, it means taking an approach to gain similar notoriety. Which is another reason Murasaki's story feels clever. He, with the help of Machina and her hacker friend Takahashi, leans into the power of technology and influencing. Before getting into a flashback explaining how Veltol wound up where he is, the Demon Lord 2099 manga begins by showing him as a streamer with 320,719 subscribers. So Machina and Takahashi are helping him tap into public opinion and a "legal in the city" sort of "magic." It also means as Veltol and Machina face Marcus and fight him, we see the diverse tactics that tap into that additional element to combine it with the magic the two are familiar with. At the same time, we also see how Machina and Takahashi's presence influences Veltol and makes him more of an antihero than a villain.
Demon Lord 2099 is just genuinely clever in its execution. It combines two types of worlds in a manner that makes sense. We see how magic and technology can work alongside each other. Veltol also becomes an antihero villain worth rooting for in the manga, anime, and light novel, and we see how the presence of everyone dear to him helps enhance the story.
The Demon Lord 2099 manga omnibus is now available via Yen Press, and it handles the light novel as well. The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll.

Square Enix released a brief trailer on social media that went over some of the New Year 2026 updates that will start appearing in FFVII Ever Crisis as of 7am PT/10am ET on December 31, 2025. First and foremost are freebies for logging in. However, there will also be a new kimono costume for Tifa in FFVII Ever Crisis.
The costume for Tifa is called the Golden Flower Kimono, and it will be in the FFVII Ever Crisis in-game shop. This means you will need to spend real money to get it. It is part of New Year 2026 Pack Vol 1. The initial tweet showed official art of her wearing it and a clip of her wearing the gear during a fight. The store update portion of the announcement also confirmed that there will be Legendary Pack I (Cloud), Legendary Pack III (Tifa), and Legendary Pack IV (Aerith) sold between December 31, 2025 and January 3, 2026.
As for the free login bonuses, they are doled out depending on how many times you log in. Showing up for 14 more days nets someone 20 Mythril Ingots, 50 Sephiroth (Original)-Specific Weapon Parts, 50 Yuffie-Specific Weapon Parts, and 3,000 Blue Crystals.
Here's the full trailer:
This isn't the first time Tifa got a kimono costume in FFVII Ever Crisis, as she got gear with that sort of design back in January 2025 too.

Freezing in your vehicle in My Winter Car is not a fun thing to happen, and you can use the built-in heater to prevent the situation.
The heater is present in every functional vehicle inside the game. In fact, you'll find it in the very first car that waits outside your hotel room. However, the controls of the heating system are slightly confusing, and it's easy to get the basics wrong.
This guide will help you figure out what you need to do to get the heating systems up and running so that you can drive your car without having to worry about the cold.
Table of contents
How does the Heater work in My Winter Car
You can find the heater in the cabin when you enter the car. The heater has two levers and buttons, so that part is easy to understand.
The rear window button is separate from the main heater. The rear window heater only heats the rear window. To keep the cabin temperature comfortable, you'll need to rely on the main heater.
Additionally, you will need to ensure that the engine is warm. To do so, turn on the engine and wait for a few in-game minutes. The doors of your car must be closed, and the blower has to run for the heating to work.
How to use the room heater in My Winter Car
Since the temperature outside is low, you'll also have to use the room heater. Room heaters work similarly, but they're not placed in your car. Whether you're using a room heater or the one inside your car, you'll need to wait a bit. Just like in real life, the heaters take a few moments to generate heat.
You'll need to use a room heater if the temperature is too low for you to sleep. Having ample fatigue is not key to falling asleep. You'll also need to have a suitable temperature in your room to sleep.

The 'Problem' stat can be quite a problem in My Winter Car if you're unsure about what it means. If left unchecked, the stat will gradually increase and result in further issues while driving a car.
The Problem stat, like all other stats, will increase when you can't bring it down. To do so, you'll need to understand what the stat modifier means. This guide will provide you with all the necessary information required for you to keep this particular stat in check.
Table of contents
How does the Problem stat work in My Winter Car
The Problem stat is related to alcoholism, or drinking, in My Winter Car. However, it doesn't work as you might think. The Problem stat will rise when you haven't been drunk in a while in the game. It's a curious way as to how the stat works in the first place.
When you don't consume alcohol, the Problem stat meter will constantly rise over time. The only way to bring it down (more on that in the following section) is to get drunk. While that's a relatively easy task to complete, you'll need to be careful.
How to bring down the Problem stat in My Winter Car
To reduce the Problem meter, you'll need to drink alcohol. The easiest way of doing so is with the help of Beer. You can purchase Beer from the in-game store by exchanging money. I will also advise keeping a few of them with you lest the 'Problem' meter creates a problem.
However, you will want to refrain from drinking too much alcohol, as that will add several negatives. Drinking your car while being drunk isn't a funny task (believe me, I have already done that), so you'll want to be miserly with the Beer. Only drink it when the Problem stat meter has risen to a certain level.

My Winter Car has plenty of vehicles for you to drive, but they don't have an infinite gas capacity. Hence, you'll have to get fuel and use that to refuel your car.
Finding fuel in My Winter Car is relatively simple since there are dedicated gas stations located on the map. However, you'll need to have credits available in your account to buy the fuel. Once done, you can then use it to refuel your car. This guide will inform all the crucial details that you need to know.
Table of contents
How to get fuel in My Winter Car
The first step is to find a gas station. You'll find PSK Peraportti outside Prajarvi. It's located in front of the exit to the highway near the construction.
You're now all set to refuel your vehicle.
How to refuel in My Winter Car
Once the nozzle is positioned correctly (assuming it's the correct one), keep pressing the left mouse button. Don't leave the LMB until the fueling process is finish. This is the part where I initially went wrong. Once the fueling is done, you can now return the nozzle.
There's a bug that prevents the refuelling process from working normally, even if you're taking all the correct steps. If that happens, begin the process from the very start. Keep note of the nozzle you're using as well to avoid disruptions during the refuelling process.

The Corris Rivett is the main project vehicle in My Winter Car, and finding it is one of the most important tasks in the game.
Based on the Ford Taunus TC, the Corris Rivett is locked in a garage. When you find it for the first time, the car will be completely broken down. This will mark the beginning of the restoration project that has several tasks to finish.
Table of contents
How to find the Corris Rivett in My Winter Car
When you start playing the game, you won't find the Corris Rivett. You'll have to make a phone call. You can do so using the landline available in the motel (or find it elsewhere).
Go to the location, and you'll find the Corris Rivett waiting in a garage.
How to buy the Corris Rivett in My Winter Car
Once you reach the marked location, you'll find the NPC. Go close to him to begin a dialog, and you'll be able to check out the Corris Rivett. Once he asks you to price him, pay 500MK, and the car will be yours.
The Corris Rivett, at this stage, won't be usable at all. To use the car, you'll need to find various parts. You can, however, bring it back to the starter house to make the assembly part more convenient. The best solution is to use the tractor to tow the Corris Rivett and bring it back to your starter house. Once you find a suitable part, you can start assembling the project car.

The Advert Delivery job is an easy way to make some money in My Winter Car, but completing the process can be slightly tedious.
You can begin the job of delivering adverts relatively early in the game. This guide will help you master the trick of acing this job and get paid after finishing the task.
Table of contents
How to start the Advert Delivery job in My Winter Car
The Advert Delivery job is an account-based task that doesn't involve any NPC. You carry out the task, and the payment is directly deposited into your account.
Here's how you can begin the task.
How to complete the Advert Delivery job in My Winter Car
Once you begin the job, you'll find advertorials piling up on your doorstep. New ones will appear at the start of every work week. There's a bug that can take place when the adverts won't appear. Repeat the process of activating the job if that happens.
Your task is to pick up these advertorials and deliver them to mailboxes. To find the mailboxes, you'll need to travel along the main road that goes through the town. You'll find mailboxes in front of all the houses. There are some changes to the locations from My Summer Car, but mailboxes are easy to find.
Make sure to deliver the adverts in as many mailboxes as possible. Missing mailboxes will result in reduced pay. Once done, go to the ATM on a Friday (in-game), and you'll receive your payment. You'll need to look for the label 'Jakopalkkio' in recent transactions.
Do note that payments are only sent on Fridays and when you have delivered the advertorials correctly in the mailboxes.
