The official PC system requirements are out, and they're very reasonable indeed, only asking for old mid-range graphics cards and merely halfway decent CPUs. Could IO Interactive have delayed their young Bond adventure to May 27th so as to polish up performance, especially around the more Brosnan-era detonationfests in that footage? Maybe, maybe not. But at least you won't need John Cleese to build you a machine that can run it. |

It's mainly a quicker maximum boost clock, up from 5.2GHz to 5.6GHz, that grants it a performance edge. |

Square Enix confirmed we will get to try Dragon Quest VII Reimagined before we buy it, as there will be a demo available on January 7, 2026. It will also prove worth going through the trial, as save files will carry over and there is a bonus. This gives us about a month to try it out ahead of its release. The opening movie and new screenshots also appeared alongside the announcement, as were the usual video, live streaming, and image posting guidelines.
In the case of the demo, it will be free and storefronts for all platforms. No matter how far you get in it, the save file you make and use will carry over. (I'd recommend checking for a day one patch for the full game to ensure there's no issue.) You also get a yellow, casual dress for Maribel to wear as a reward for testing it out.
Here's how the free Maribel dress from the Dragon Quest VII Reimagined demo will look.
As for the additional peeks at the game, here's the new opening movie trailer and handful of screenshots.
With the guidelines, it can be streamed for non commerical purposes on Facebook, Instagram, Niconico, TikTok, Twitch, and YouTube, and it can be monetized on sites that offer the option like Twitch and YouTube. You can share those videos as long as it's also not for "commercial use." Both videos and screenshots do need proprietary notices, however, but in some situations that might already happen if you use built-in sharing features on a system like a PS5 or Switch 2.
Here is the proprietary notice for videos:
"The works used in this video are jointly owned by SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. and other co-owners, and the copyright of the music used in this video is owned by Sugiyama Kobo Co.,Ltd.. The unauthorized reproduction and distribution of this video is prohibited.

And this is the one for screenshots:
"The copyright of the images used on this page is jointly owned by SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. and other co-owners. The unauthorized reproduction and distribution of the images is prohibited.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 5, 2026, and the demo will launch on January 7, 2026.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is one of those situations in which we know this is a good game and story, but we need to give it a few weeks or months to get to that point. Owlcat Games brought the turn-based strategy game to the Switch 2 just before 2025 ended, making it the company's first title on the system. Just like the launch on other platforms, it wasn't entirely smooth! But since one major patch is already out and we did see updates on the original releases, I think we could eventually hit a point after a substantial period of time when Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader could worth playing on the Switch 2.
After creating our character in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader (don't worry, as a bug that kept me from actually doing that a few times due to a crash is gone now), we learn we inherited the ability to become a Rogue Trader for the Imperium of Man. After a bit of a kerfuffle when actually claiming the legacy of the Von Valancius family and getting the Warrant of Trade, we soon wind up with the right to explore and trade in the Koronus Expanse. For those unfamiliar with the series, it's an opportunity to go through an over 60-hour, turn-based RPG with recruitable characters, choices that actually matter, and even an opportunity to romance some of the companions you recruit.
Since the first patch for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is already on the Switch 2, I'm only going to be going over what's making it worthwhile and what needs improvement. Know that it is an essential update. When I first played, the game crashed as I was going through character creation. After downloading the patch, I tried going through that again and didn't encounter the bug. That's not an issue anymore! But there are both some benefits and lingering issues that come up and suggest it's worth maybe waiting another month.
One of the biggest benefits to the latest adjustments is that Owlcat added mouse support for the Switch 2 version of Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. It's genuinely a godsend for some strategic games on the system, and using a Joy-Con 2 in that way is quite helpful here. It's okay with traditional controls as well, especially if you're in handheld mode.
I would say handheld mode isn't the optimal way to play, at least not now. Which is unfortunate, as that should be one of the draws when coming to Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader on a Switch 2 due to issues with it running on a Steam Deck. One part of the problem is it just doesn't look great. The resolution is really bad, especially on character models, though that is supposedly something on Owlcat's to-do list in terms of future updates. It also could use some framerate adjustments. Some did already come through with the patch back on December 18, 2025! It did make a difference and result in a more playable game, but it still feels like I'm hitting 15-30fps instead of a stable 30fps. But then, this is an issue even when docked, as is an issue with long load times, so I suppose we can't blame it all on Handheld Mode.
However, maybe the biggest issue I've seen firsthand aside from an occasional crash is that the Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has major menu problems at the moment. Aside from them being slow to navigate, I can't even move and make selections unless I use the mouse controls. But not being able to actually use controls to navigate the in-game menus is a pretty big problem, and I was surprised a hotfix didn't come in ahead of a more major patch even with the holiday season.
We already know Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a great game on other platforms, but it is not there yet on the Switch 2. Will it eventually be ready? I think at one point in a few months we could see it being preferable to trying to play it on a handheld gaming PC. But things like menu navigation problems, framerate issues, character model resolutions, the loading situation, and crashes need to be fixed first. I'd recommend stalking the official subreddit and waiting for at least another two updates before considering a purchase.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is now available on the Switch 2, and it can also be found on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

If the title didn't already give it away, My Summer Car, a small indie by developer Amistech Games, has reached its all-time peak on Steam after spending over eight years in early access and a full year of release.
The full game was officially launched in Jan. 2025, and certainly attained some success over the years of early access. But it wasn't until a year later that it breached 7,000 concurrent players on Steam, a new record for this one-of-a-kind game.
This is, presumably, thanks to the success of My Winter Car, the sequel. The games are also available in a bundle that makes the pair some of the most affordable gaming you can get your hands on in 2026 so far. This, naturally, has also helped boost the player base of both games.
My Winter Car peaked at over 24,000 concurrent players, and some of those, at least, have gone back to see where it all started.
But does the original hold up? Well, if you're into goofy, surprisingly difficult games, then it'll probably be worth playing for another 20 years, at least. It's a real gem, the likes of which weren't all too common back in 2016, when it launched into early access. Given the lengthy development cycle of almost nine years, there's a ton of stuff to do in this game, from picking strawberries to emptying septic tanks and even winning rallies (the car kind).
I'm super happy that this little game is getting the love it's always deserved. If you haven't yet, definitely check out both games. I haven't played My Winter Car just yet, but I'll definitely be checking it out in the near future.

The Division 2 Y7S3 Mutiny continues towards the final quest, and we can complete Scout 6 objectives.
The first set of objectives in the new year includes three tasks to complete, which you'll have to decode with clues. Solving them is a must if you want to take part in the season finale later this month. This guide will help you complete all three tasks that are part of the objective.
Table of contents
The Division 2 Y7S3 Mutiny Week 6 Scout solutions
While week 6 doesn't have an HVT to take down, we get to know more about the True Sons and their intentions. Here are the clues related to the three tasks.
Here's what you have to do to complete the three tasks.
Prevent a Public Execution
Public Executions are an open-world activity that involves saving hostages while taking down the hostiles. They're typically represented by a question mark icon on the map, and you'll be tasked with protecting two civilians.
Once you eliminate the first wave of enemies, you'll face the second one. Clear both waves and speak with the civilians to complete the first task. Saving both of them will also reward you with a bonus Bounty Commission (not part of the Scout 6 objectives).
Take over Solar Farm
The Solar Farm is located in the East Mall district, and it's one of the four Control Points at this location. Once you reach the location, fire the flare to request backup. You can reach the location from either Liberty's Call safe house or the Viewpoint Museum. You'll have to clear waves of enemies until the elite leaders arrive. Take down the leaders to complete the second task once you have complete control of Solar Farm.
Complete True Sons Bounties
The third and final task of Scout 6 requires you to take down two Bounty targets belonging to the True Sons faction. You can locate them by opening your map and then going to the Bounties section. Make sure of their faction, or your progress won't count.
Each bounty fight will require you to wait for three waves of enemies. The final boss always appears in the last wave, and the task is complete once he is defeated. This will complete Scout 6 objectives and play an audio file about the current status of the True Sons defectors.
