Remember how literally only two weeks ago, PlayStation held one of their "Look at the State of the Place, You've Made Such a Mess!" presentations? There were plenty of announcements that landed with suitable aplomb, like a new Castlevania, a proper look at Silent Hill: Townfall, and a reveal of remakes of the OG three God of War Games. So it strikes me as perhaps a bit odd, and funny, that today Insomniac Games have, with quite little fanfare, confirmed the release date of their Wolverine joint.

Konami have recently made ominous noises about taking the series to Central or South America.

Marvel's Wolverine Release Date Set for September 2026

Insomniac Games and Sony confirmed the release date for Marvel's Wolverine on social media, further pinning down the expected Fall 2026 launch. We'll see it on September 15, 2026. It will only be available on the PS5 at launch, and there's no word yet if we'll eventually see it go multiplatform like developer's Marvel's Spider-Man titles.

The Marvel's Wolverine release date reveal wasn't accompanied by any new trailer for the PS5 game. We do know that it's a title that will cover multiple periods in Logan's life. One of the last trailers from September 2025 featured him interacting with and fighting other familiar faces like Sabertooth and Mystique. It also confirmed that in addition to brawling segments, there will be ones involving him riding and racing on his motorcycle.

Here's that footage:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3pDMUWlA6I

This will be the third Marvel comics game from Insomniac Games. It started with Marvel's Spider-Man for the PS4, which eventually also came to the PS5 and PC. Then there was Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. That also ended up being on all three platforms. The last game in that line was Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which appeared on the PS5 in October 2023 and PC in January 2025.

Marvel's Wolverine is headed to the PS5, and the release date is September 15, 2026.

More Sanrio Desktop Mate DLC Characters Teased

The next batch of Desktop Mate DLC will contain more characters than usual, as Hello Kitty isn't the only Sanrio mascot who will appear. Over the last four days since her reveal, four additional icons were teased on the application's social media account. This would be the largest number of characters to join the game so far, as previous add-on drops tended to only add between one and two new options to the game.

Like Hello Kitty, all of the other Sanrio Desktop Mate DLC character reveals involved silhouettes of the mascots with a brief teaser about their identity. Since the shadows are fairly obvious and the Sanrio copyright is on each one, their identities are incredibly obvious. We still don't know if they will all be bundled together in one add-on, with people able to see them randomly appear, or if there will be a separate purchase for each character.

Here's the full list of all confirmed Sanrio Desktop Mate DLC characters so far.

  • Cinnamoroll
  • Hello Kitty
  • My Melody
  • Pochacco
  • Pompompurin

And here's a gallery of all of the silhouettes.

As a reminder, the Desktop Mate app allows characters to appear on your PC desktop as you work. You can also interact with them. Since its launch, Vocaloids and video game characters appeared as DLC. With the exception of the $7.49 Yukkuri Reimu Touhou Project add-on, each piece has cost $14.99.

Desktop Mate is available on Steam.

Resident Evil's Umbrella Corporation 'Suing' Nissin Over Cup Noodles

As part of Capcom's Resident Evil Requiem promotions, the company shared a tweet on social media announcing that joked Umbrella Corporation, makers of Umbrella Noodles, is "suing" Nissin Foods over its Cup Noodles. The statement involves "IP infringement" case. As of time of writing, Nissin has yet to respond to the allegations or hinted at any kind of product tie-in. Capcom and Nintendo also released a Creator's Voice video about the upcoming game. [Thanks, Inside Games!]

The announcement ended up accompanied by a screenshot designed to look like an in-game look at a discovered document. It noted that on February 24, 2026, the plaintiff Umbrella Corporation filed a case against Nissin Foods due to the likeness between Umbrella Noodles and Cup Noodles. In the replies, a user named Willmesis shared a screenshot from the Resident Evil 3 remake of Jill Valentine in front of an Umbrella Noodles advertisement to highlight the likeness between the two items.

Prior to that, Yume Group and S.Ride announced a piece of hanging fitness equipment that came with a copy of the game, referencing a part shown in which Grace is hanging upside-down.

Resident Evil Requiem will come to the Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam and Epic Game Store on February 27, 2026.

One Piece Monkey D Luffy Monchhichi Debuts Alongside Season 2

Sekiguchi and Shuiesha announced One Piece Monchhichi Monkey D Luffy and Tony Tony Chopper merchandise will appear alongside the release of season 2 of the Netflix live-action adaptation. The stuffed animal of the mascot dressed as the Straw Hat leader will appear first. That will debut in Japan on March 14, 2026. The Chopper plush will follow at a later date. The Amazon store product listings aren't live yet, but places like the official online shop in Japan will open pre-orders on March 6, 2026.

The full-sized stuffed Luffy Monchhichi is the more expensive of the two items, but both One Piece crossover plush feature the character in the same costume. Both wear a red vest with gold buttons and a straw hat with a red band around it. The face plates for each one also feature Luffy's scar under the mascot's left eye. The larger one is 5,500円 (~$35.30) and stands at over seven and a half inches tall (20cm). The smaller one is 4,180円 (~$26.80) and is five and a half inches tall (14cm), not counting the ball-chain keychain at the top.

Here's how both of those plush will look:

In the case of the Chopper Sekiguchi items, there aren't exact details about them yet. One prototype did appear in the promotional image alongside the Luffy, to offer a sense of scale. We do know there will be a plush keychain and stuffed animal.

Here's the full key art showing the two characters:

Lollipop Chainsaw RePop Switch 2 Now Has no Release Date

Dragami Games not only delayed the Switch 2 version of Lollipop Chainsaw RePop remake, but now doesn't have any release date for that port. The company apologized for the sudden change on social media. It was supposed to appear on the eShop on March 26, 2026. It didn't mention if this means the Burlesque Bunny Juliet costume planned for other versions to celebrate that release will be delayed.

When explaining the delay of the Switch 2 version of Lollipop Chainsaw RePop, the statement essentially noted the remake isn't meeting expectations. It noted the additional development time will be used for "significant updates." It didn't mention specific issues, but did reference the Switch version and its performance problems. This is the second delay, as it originally moved from a November 2025 window to early 2026.

The Switch version of the game launched with a number of issues that kept it from running smoothly. For example, there are multiple frame rate drops. Also, all licensed music was removed.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePop is available on the Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Switch 2 version is in development with no release date. The original appeared on the PS3 and Xbox 360. An anime and new game are also in development.

Preview: Life Is Strange: Reunion Jumps Between Max and Chloe

Ever since the original Life is Strange, we've seen new entries and spin-offs with both Max Caulfield and Chloe Prince involved, and Life is Strange: Reunion marks a third entry that puts both characters at the forefront. The two reunite, with us controlling both as we go through a new catastrophic mystery to solve. After getting a chance to go hands-on with some early-game segments as both heroines, it feels like there might be a real back-and-forth between the two at all times.

When my session began, Max was just starting her investigation into the fire that would devastate Caledon University in three days. She canceled a trip and started by heading to Amanda's bar with the cover story of "seeing her stand-up," but really to start information gathering about the situation and investigating. After talking to Vinh and hearing about the Caledon Fremont House and using her rewind ability to get rid of a heckler that ruins Amanda's set, I was able to further investigate. That meant learning about Lucas' Vox Populi podcast, rewinding time to listen to it so he'd actually talk to me, and learn about how the issues with the events of the last game causing issues in Lakeport and corruption within Caledon leading to its expansion. She then learns the fire she's trying to prevent started at the Abraxas house at 3180 Fremont Street, which is where the school will expand, and leaves to investigate.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrxm00_0jPE

Once Max leaves the bar to check out that spot in Life is Strange Reunion, Chloe comes in. This gives us a chance to see the difference in their personalities and how they react in possible sorts of investigations and interactions. A moment with some students results in security banning Chloe from the bar along with the obnoxious guy hitting on her, so she needs to sneak inside to get something to eat. After interacting with folks like Amanda and Lucas, we get to see her "unique" ability. That is, she can bluff, lie, and basically debate a person to get her way. In this case, it's convincing security that she has a reason to be on campus. This means selecting one of multiple answers and trying to "win" something of a debate, though in this early example it was as simple giving one correct answer to pass the challenge. As part of that, we hear over the radio that someone's breaking into a house, Chloe assumes it is Max, and heads over.

While there's already that kind of back-and-forth, I also got a chance to see how that element works between Max and Chloe in a Life is Strange: Reunion scene set at Max's home after the two reunited after those initial events at the bar. Since Max was awake first, I did a little investigating and breakfast prep. Then, while she was moving Chloe's truck to a parking spot, I got to go through some additional investigations as Chloe. It sort of set an early idea of what the pace might be like.

The final gameplay element for my hands-on with Life is Strange: Reunion involved a new mechanic for the series: controlling a conversation between Max and Chloe at the same time. In my save, I was able to recreate my original experience my opting for a scenario where Max romanced Chloe, but then chose not to sacrifice Arcadia Bay for her in the original Life is Strange. I then would select responses in the conversation for both characters, having them react to each other. It seemed interesting and like it gave me a chance to roleplay how I "thought" each one would respond to suddenly being back together and knowing what past choices were made. It's interesting, and I'm curious to see how it could play out in other conversations and affect the story.

My first experiences with Life is Strange: Reunion makes me feel like we'll constantly be shifting from Max to Chloe, even when both are in the same scene. The segment I went through seemed very dedicated to ensuring both heroines had an equal amount of screen time. However, in both cases it seems like there'll be all sorts of investigations and branching-path conversations.

Life is Strange: Reunion will appear on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on March 26, 2026.

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Collector's Edition Announced

Following a tease on social media, Gungho confirmed there will be a The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Golden Wings Collector's Edition. This will cost $274.99 and be sold at Planax. This version will be available for the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and PC, and pre-orders are open until March 8, 2026.

Most of the items in the Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Golden Wings edition are expected. You get a copy of the game, its digital season pass, a Steelbook case to hold the cartridge or disk, an art book, a soundtrack CD with some songs from it. The big item in it is a model diorama. That features Liberl's Arseille being chased down by Ouroboros' Glorious, recreating a scene from the title.

Here's the official photo of the limited edition, as well as two closer peeks at the model:

There is something to keep in mind with this version of the game. Planax noted it will be limited. If someone doesn't place an order for a copy between February 24, 2026 and March 8, 2026, there won't be any additional copies made and sold. Also, there will only be "approximately 2,000" PC version editions with Steam codes.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter will come out in Fall 2026 for the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and Windows PC via Steam, and the Golden Wings Collector's Edition will release alongside it around that same time.

Discord logo 2

A couple weeks ago, Discord announced it would be employing age verification methods, including facial scans and forms of ID in March. Naturally, the response was not happy.

Discord CTO and co-founder Stanislav Vishnevskiy put out a lengthy blog post today announcing that the global rollout of its age verification is being delayed into the second half of 2026, while also confirming changes are being made to the system, and explaining why it's been deemed necessary in the first place.

Discord logo 1
Image via Discord

"Let me be upfront: we knew this rollout was going to be controversial," Vishnevskiy said. "Any time you introduce something that touches identity and verification, people are going to have strong feelings. Rightfully so." Vishnevskiy said that Discord "should have provided more detail about our intentions and how the process works" now with the benefit of "hindsight."

"The way this landed, many of you walked away thinking we're requiring face scans and ID uploads from everyone just to use Discord," he said. "That's not what's happening, but the fact that so many people believe it tells us we failed at our most basic job: clearly explaining what we're doing and why. That's on us. On top of that, many of you are worried that this is just another big tech company finding new ways to collect your personal data. That we're creating a problem to justify invasive solutions. I get that skepticism. It's earned, not just toward us, but toward the entire tech industry. But that's not what we're doing."

Vishnevskiy explained that age verification will only come back in the second half of the year once Discord has added more verification options, is more transparent with the vendors behind the processes, added a new "spoiler" channel option, provided age assurance data in its transparency reports, and published a technical blog post before full launch.

However, he also reiterated that "over 90 percent of users will never need to verify their age to continue using Discord exactly as they do today. And so, despite the outcry over last year's data leak that exposed 1.5TB of personal info from users who verified their info, the company is moving forward eventually with rolling out the feature globally.

"We've made mistakes," Vishnevskiy said. "I won't pretend we haven't. And I know that being a bigger company now means our mistakes have bigger consequences and erode trust faster. I don't expect one blog post to fix that. Trust is earned through actions over time: shipping the things we promised, owning it when we miss the mark, and giving you real control over your own experience."

Guardian, are you struggling with a lost connection? Here's how to check if the Destiny 2 servers are down or if you're just working with a faulty internet connection.

Destiny 2 periodically gets taken offline for server maintenance so that Bungie can update the game and fix issues. The developer usually communicates well in advance when this is going to happen, but sometimes, there's just a problem with the game.

Here's what you need to know and do to figure out the status of Destiny 2's servers so you can find out when you can get back to grinding for better loot.

How to check the Destiny 2 servers' status

In most cases, when the Destiny 2 servers are down, it's due to a scheduled maintenance window or an unforeseen issue on Bungie's side. This doesn't mean your game may not have connection issues, but it's wiser to check for problems on the developer's end before resetting your router.

Bungie commonly communicates server downtime ahead of time through its status pages, so this should be your first stop to find out why you can't log into Destiny 2. The game will be unavailable if there's a programmed maintenance, for instance, and looking through social media or the official BungieHelp website can help shed some light on the problem.

Error code CAT is a telltale sign of scheduled maintenance to deploy an update, since it indicates you don't have the latest version of the game. Checking out the server status page may pay off, since Bungie will announce when the update starts rolling in on different platforms.

Though the aim is to get the game back by the daily reset, sometimes the studio extends the server downtime due to issues. For instance, on Feb. 24, 2026, the studio announced the servers would be down until 4pm CT—hours after the usual deadline. Delays can also happen if Bungie runs into issues while performing maintenance.

If there's no planned maintenance but you can't connect to the servers, the issue might still be on Bungie's side. Reports-based website Downdetector.com will show if other users are having trouble, which may confirm you're not the only one struggling. If that doesn't pan out, you can check the Bungie forums or subreddits like DestinyTheGame or Destiny2 to see if others claim to have the same issue.

Assuming there's no planned maintenance or reports from other players, the cause of the server issues could be on your side of the connection.

Possible fixes for connection issues

If the above resources indicate that Destiny 2's servers are fine, there may be an issue with your internet. First, make sure you have your firewalls off. Next, try to reset your router. To do this, take the power cable out for 10 seconds and then reconnect it. You'll need to wait a few minutes for your connection to return.

If you're still having trouble, check to see if you have the latest update installed. If you're on the PS5, click the options button on the main menu's Destiny 2 square. Then, select "Check for Update." If one is available, it should begin to download. Xbox players can use a similar process.

On Steam, right-click the game from your library, open the "Properties" menu, and check how the client handles your downloads. If the update doesn't appear, resetting the client may push the download to you. If it's still not there, check the studio's official social media support channels to ensure the patch has gone live.

As a rule of thumb, you'll always want the most recent patch for Destiny 2 installed to play the game. The game may be a storage hog, but saving a few gigabytes won't matter if you can't play the game at all.

The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim Dragonborn Dovahkiin

One of the reasons people care so much about The Elder Scrolls series is all the incredibly memorable adventures you can have, which even make great stories for your friends. Does that mean we all have the same favorite memories of the series? Let's find out.

Morrowind sowed the seeds of my love for Dark Souls

Long before we got a series known for tricking players into the wildest deaths imaginable, we had Morrowind. This game tasked players with becoming a hero on an alien land, which occasionally also had players getting themselves killed in ways so funny they legally couldn't even get mad.

The moment that sold me on this game's machinations was encountering the "Scroll of Icarian Flight". Actually, what we encounter is the scroll's owner, though he falls from the sky and immediately craters to his death right in front of us with no explanation given, forcing us to loot his corpse, for investigative purposes, naturally.

On this man, we found a scroll that boosts the player's ability to jump, like, by a lot, but not their ability to withstand fall damage, meaning that using that scroll will cause players to become just like the corpse they looted.

This is not the only hilarious gag to be found in this world, but it's so infuriatingly hilarious that it immediately leaves an indelible mark on the souls of players.

Morrowind just effortlessly oozes old-school charm

Despite the gorgeous graphics and epic scope, the thing that I believe more deeply fuels fans' desire to play TES 6 is the smaller moments that the devs clearly put a lot of heart into creating, whether players notice them or not. Some of these moments don't even have dialogue since they aren't scripted. Bethesda created these beautiful worlds not knowing when players would stumble upon their coolest parts, but they still made them, hoping the players' hunger for adventure would guide them there. You don't know when they'll occur, but should you dare to enjoy the ride enough, they will.

One of the most hauntingly beautiful moments to me was a surprisingly simple one. It took place soon after I began playing Morrowind and decided to stray from my expected path to pursue a sidequest of my own making. Day gave way to night, and for some reason, I looked up, and there it was, a huge and menacingly beautiful blood red moon. This was long before games had photomodes and social media was a thing, but I had to find the best angle for a rare screenshot.

How many games nowadays make you stop and stare just to marvel at their beauty for a while, temporarily freed from your duties to the main quest gods, or those of the PlayStation Trophies? Though it might feel like nothing in text, most players who were fortunate enough to stumble upon the blood moon likely still cherish that memory.

What's the greatest quest in Elder Scrolls history?

We should probably go beyond just talking about one great moment and refer to a great questline. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I never heard anyone talking about any quest in the series as much as they did about the Dark Brotherhood's questline in Oblivion. And I agree.

I won't spoil it, not because I'm secretly a member who knows what happens when secrets get spilled, but because it features some pretty cool twists and turns that you should experience yourself. Quite a testament to the quality of these games that one of the most popular missions is one you can easily miss while beating the game's (considerably less thrilling) main questline.

Great Elder Scrolls moments expand far beyond the games themselves

I remember once reading that to come up with the world and plot of Morrowind, writer Michael Kirkbride spent a lot of time completely high on Skooma, Moon Sugar, and Sleeping Tree sap's real-world counterparts, if you catch my drift. There was even a very convincing, hilariously unbecoming photo of Kirkbride making the rounds to prove that. I won't share it here because the man doesn't deserve the unflattery, but I assure you it's but one Google search away.

Though the photo is real, the story isn't, officially, at least. Still, to anyone who's ever ventured into the eerie world of Morrowind, the wild dev tale will always remain head canon, one of such power it's deserving of preservation via real-life Elder Scroll. That's the thing about a game like Morrowind: one that features so much magical whimsy it spills out, creating meta lore that goes viral in the community to the point that nobody is really sure whether it's real or not. I'll take that over the repetitive memes about arrows and knees any day.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ElderScrolls/comments/l971qn/did_michael_kirkbride_actually_write_morrowind/

And what about you, what is the greatest Elder Scrolls moment in your opinion, or the most underrated one, the one you can't believe didn't touch others in the way it touched you?

Shooting at the Firefly in ARC Raiders

The Firefly Burner is a rare item that's hard to find in ARC Raiders, largely due to the way we have to obtain it.

The Firefly Burner isn't just some loot that you can extract from an old fridge. Instead, you'll have to take down a Firefly (one of the two new ARCs to find in the new update). This task is easier said than done, so let's look at how you can secure a Firefly Burner.

How to get a Firefly Burner in ARC Raiders

The answer is pretty simple: shoot down a Firefly Burner. Unlike the Comet Igniter, it's far easier to get a Firefly Burner, as every destroyed one drops the item. Once again, the Firefly doesn't have a fixed location, and you can spot it on any map.

Comet and Firefly in ARC Raiders
Image via Embark

An easy way to find them is to take part in either a Matriarch or a Harvester event. Since smaller ARCs (both flying and non-flying) tend to surround the Queen/Matriarch, you can target and destroy them to get the Burner. That's how I found my Burner when I participated in the Matriarch hunt on the Dam Battlegrounds map.

Image via Embark

So how do you take down a Firefly? A Firefly is almost the same size as the Hornet, but slightly different in shape. The strategy remains the same: shoot at its back rotor fans or use weapons like the Hullcracker. With the Hullcracker, you don't need to care about where you're shooting. If you're using weapons like the Renegade or the Ferro, you would want to aim at its back. If the two back rotor fans are destroyed, chances are that the Firefly will be destroyed on its own.

Try to keep your distance since the Firefly can burn away your armour in a few seconds. It's pretty hard to dodge its incoming fire as well, irrespective of how swiftly you move. Once you destroy a Firefly, salvage its remains to get yourself the Burner.

How to use the Firefly Burner in ARC Raiders

Usually, ARC parts are required to complete several kinds of recipes. They're mostly used for making explosives. As of writing, the Firefly Burner isn't required in any recipe. However, you'll need to find at least one if you're looking to complete the newly-launched Weather Monitor Project.

The project has five separate stages that provide you with different rewards. One such step requires you to submit one Firefly Burner. Hence, make sure to add one to your inventory when you find them.

ARC Raiders Sandwalker set

It's tough out there in the world of extraction shooters as game devs try to balance the wants and needs of different kinds of players.

The hugely popular ARC Raiders is advertised as a PvPvE game, as extraction shooters normally are. Every time you deploy topside, you run the risk of running into sweaty players looking to steal your loot. But more and more players have been feeling lately that the game is leaning more heavily into PvE, and now Embark Studios has taken away a big reason for people to fight each other.

ARC Raiders PvE
Screenshot by Destructoid

In today's patch notes, Embark Studios has "removed PvP Feats" entirely, which basically deletes a main source of incentive to fight other players. ARC Raiders players are saying that this is pushing the game further into full-fledged PvE territory, and some are none too pleased.

"PvP feats have been removed, so basically anyone who attacks you now is just doing it for the love of the game," said an ARC Raiders news account on Twitter/X. Many of the replies are in disagreement, but the fact is that Feats to rank up things like Raider Decks and unlock cosmetics are a reason to play the game daily. Now, without PvP Feats, it's once again all about peace as humanity unites against evil robots, in theory.

I don't fully buy the notion that ARC Raiders is now a PvE-only game thanks to the removal of Feats. The incentive to fight others is to steal their gear. That's the whole point of extraction shooters. But with inviting a more casual kind of player into ARC Raiders, it seems as though a good amount of the playerbase would rather peacefully PvE, or so says Embark's data.

"Embark are clearly pushing away PvP players as hard as they can," one gamer said. "Thank god Marathon drops next week."

And therein lies an interesting discussion to be had. While ARC Raiders seems to be moving further away from PvP and leaning into its PvE popularity, Bungie's Marathon is intent on pushing the PvP aspect of it. As both games move forward, I will be keeping my eyes on how they function as one seems more PvE-focused, and the upcoming FPS from the makers of Halo and Destiny wants you to fight it out.

One of the factions in Marathon is a death cult. I don't see that faction's missions encouraging harmony and love when it comes to its missions and unlockable abilities. Will PvP fans head to Marathon while the slower-paced PvE fans stay behind on ARC Raiders?

I think there's room for both games with how popular the genre is becoming, but either way, it will be fun to watch it all shake out over the next few months.

Staying true to the recent theme, solving the puzzle will require cooperation among players. You can't solve the puzzle by yourself, even if you're playing in a trio. Let's look at how to solve the puzzle.

How to solve the Controlled Access Zone Puzzle in ARC Raiders

Screenshot by Destructoid

We begin by reaching the new POI, located south of the Power Generation Complex. I have marked its location, but it's pretty easy to find, as it's a named spot. Just open your map, and you should be able to find it.

Screenshot by Destructoid

Find a fuel cell

Once you're in the Controlled Access Zone, the first job is to look for a fuel cell. You need the fuel cell to insert it at a terminal at the top of the stairs. The cell can be found at the bottom of the stairs (near the corner of the wall). Carry the cell to the top of the stairs, and you'll find a generator to insert the cell. You'll find the first button in the same room.

Do note that the location of the cell can be random, but it will always be located on the bottom floor.

Inserting the cell in the generator in ARC Raiders

Interact with the buttons

Here's the tricky part of completing the puzzle. There are four buttons in total. One of the buttons will always spawn by the generator on the top (where you insert the cell), and the remaining areas are random. I have added a few images so you know what you're looking for.

Button to solve the puzzle
Screenshot by Destructoid

To complete the puzzle, you're going to need four people. All four of you should be pressing the buttons at the same time. This will require a lot of coordination, as you'll be teaming up with opposition raiders. If one of the buttons is pressed out of sequence, the process will fail.

Once you've pressed all the buttons correctly, you'll open the door (refer to the image below). Head inside, and you'll find a generator. Insert the following items: 12 Metal Parts and one Industrial Battery. You can either scavenge these on your raid or bring them along for the puzzle.

Submitting the items fixes the control panel and allows you to enter the loot room. There are plenty of containers to raid at this location, and I have already found a Mythic Blueprint. You can repeat the process by starting a fresh round and solving the puzzle once again.

Vampire Crawlers gameplay

I think I am already awarding the crown for the best demo in Steam Next Fest. Congratulations, Poncle.

Vampire Crawlers is another indie amalgamation of different genres and ideas that creates something wholly addicting and fun, while feeling classic and new all at the same time. And it's got that charming, retro, Vampire Survivors aesthetic to it, too.

A screenshot of Vampire Crawlers gameplay.
Screenshot by Destructoid

This spinoff title is, as you may guess, a first-person dungeon crawler set in the world of Vampire Survivors. It's got the same aesthetic, characters, enemies, and leveling up process as Survivors, but with a first-person perspective and a new battle system.

Vampire Crawlers tasks you with exploring dungeons, killing enemies, and leveling up just like Survivors, but the battles are all card-based, similar to how combat works in Slay the Spire or Monster Train. You get ability cards to deal damage or shield up, and a set amount of energy you can use to deploy them, and try to survive as long as you can.

You can play it slowly and methodically, or just press the Play All button to play all of your cards and fly through levels with reckless abandon. Both are fun, but the quick nature of the Play All button is a big draw for me.

Fans of Vampire Survivors will feel right at home with the game's characters and abilities, such as the Duplicator card, which will allow you to fire one more projectile, or the Attract Orb, which will now draw a card. And of course, the loud and bombastic chests that you loot for new cards and abilities as you finish levels. Special cards allow you to modify and buff existing ones, or you can choose new abilities to further flesh out your deck.

Just like its predecessor, Vampire Crawlers may not be for everyone. But it's simple enough that just about anybody can enjoy, and it may be tough to say this, but I think we may already have an early sleeper candidate for potential game of the year nominations.

Vampire Crawlers unlocks
Screenshot by Destructoid

It just feels so easy to fly through a run in Vampire Crawlers, even more so thanSurvivors, I think. And while Survivors may have given birth to a whole genre (action roguelike, or bullet heaven, or whatever you'd like to call it), I think that this game has as much of a chance to bring dungeon crawlers to the forefront when it launches sometime in 2026.

The demo is available for all on Steam now, but I warn you, it's quite easy to get addicted to the loop and progression with each run.

Piano in ARC Raiders

The Shrouded Sky update in ARC Raiders seems to be encouraging us to go on a musical journey by finding pianos on the map.

We already had the Guitar in older updates, which was also part of its own puzzle. The pianos (there are two as of writing) are far easier to find, and you can discover them on your raid. I am unsure if the pianos are part of a puzzle, but here's where you can find and play them.

How to find all pianos in ARC Raiders

One of the two pianos you can find is on the Buried City map, while the other one is on Blue Gate.

Piano location in the Buried City

The Piano in Buried City is located inside one of the apartment buildings in front of the Old Town Hatch (you can escape using a hatch key). I have marked the exact spot on the image above. However, this area usually has plenty of ARCs, so approach it from the back. There will be a small door that you can use to get inside.

Once inside, use the stairs to go to the top floor. There's a huge broken wall. Pass through it and move straight. Take a left, and you'll find a breachable door. Break the lock and head inside, and you'll find the Piano.

Piano location in Blue Gate

Piano location in Buried City
Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

The Piano in Blue Gate is easier to find as it's located in the Raider's Refuge. It's a named POI, so it's easy to spot. The Piano will be by one of the walls (depending on which of the three doors you use to enter). This spot also has plenty of ARCs patrolling the area, and I found the newly-released Comet as well.

Try to clear the ARCs first before approaching the Piano. There's a Turret as well that I have found in the Raider's Refuge. In simple words, carry strong weapons that allow you to deal with enemies efficiently.

How to play the Piano in ARC Raiders

Once you spot a piano, move close to it. You'll get the chance to interact and play the keys. The complete tune takes a few seconds to complete, but you can stop playing it early. I really like the tune and found it to be quite catchy. More importantly, we don't have to solve a puzzle this time around.

Tanglewood rework in phasmophobia

One of Phasmophobia's most beloved maps is soon receiving a drastic rework focused on improving the overall quality and playability of the location. The next map rework is 6 Tanglewood Drive, and you'll want to jump in as soon as possible to explore these exciting changes.

The devs are steadily working their way through updating all of the house maps the ghost hunting game has to offer. So far, we've seen refreshes for Bleasdale Farmhouse and Grafton Farmhouse, making 6 Tanglewood Drive the third location to undergo this process. If you want to be ready to start ghost hunting and the new and improved home as soon as it's available, here's the exact time and date when the Phasmophobia 6 Tanglewood Drive rework update will be released.

Phasmophobia 6 Tanglewood Drive rework update release date and time

Screenshot by Destructoid

The 6 Tanglewood Drive map rework officially launches on March 3. A release time for this update hasn't been revealed so far, and likely won't be since most previous updates didn't have a launch time announced. Most past updates have been released at the exact same time, though, so there's a solid chance this one will, too, which is 7am CT/1pm UTC.

We've set our countdown to the expected launch time and translated it across major time zones so you can check exactly when it will be live in your area. If the devs do announce a different time, or if any delays occur, we'll update all relevant details here.

[hurrytimer id="1183193"]

  • PT: 5am on Aug. 12
  • CT: 7am on Aug. 12
  • ET: 8am on Aug. 12
  • BST: 1pm on Aug. 12
  • CEST: 2pm on Aug. 12
  • JST: 10pm on Aug. 12
  • AEST: 11pm on Aug. 12

Phasmophobia 6 Tanglewood Drive rework update features

Screenshot by Destructoid

The 6 Tanglewood Drive update is focused on giving this house map an overall refresh and upgrade to help it better align with the devs' vision for the full 1.0 launch of the game, previously known as the Horror 2.0 update. The team told Destructoid that "the revised map is designed to increase the quality, interactivity, and replayability of the well-loved location."

If you previously witnessed the reworks for Bleasdale Farmhouse and Grafton Farmhouse, you have a solid idea of what to expect with this one. This redesign will be less intense, though, and retain more of the overall shape and layout players have come to know and love.

The reworked 6 Tanglewood Drive map will feature all kinds of new interactions on the map. These will likely be similar to some of the oddities you can find around other updated locations, like the Spider at Bleasdale Farmhouse or the whipped cream dispensers scattered all around Nell's Diner.

There's also some kind of "new surprise" waiting to be uncovered in the basement on the updated map. No details or teasers as to what this might be have been revealed, although there is a new train set featured in some of the key art, so it could be referencing this. It's also possible it's something else entirely, though, so we'll have to wait until March 3 to learn what it is.

Screenshot by Destructoid

Seeing such an iconic and beloved location undergo a drastic rework might be intimidating, but the devs told Destructoid they recognize that the location is a "fan favorite" and are simply hoping to "raise the map to the same level as the newer locations, and make Phasmophobia the game [they've] always wanted it to be."

It's a big year for the ghost hunting game, and this update is only the first of many slated to release as the year progresses, according to the 2026 Phasmophobia roadmap. The next map rework slated for launch is 13 Willow Street, releasing sometime before the end of the year. While you wait for more fresh content to arrive, consider diving into some of the most recent additions, like learning how to identify a Gallu, Dayan, and Obambo.

all kaizen clans ranked

The best clans in Kaizen are the ones in S-Tier below which give the best offense/defense buffs and abilities. The lower S-Tier and A-Tiers are great alternatives for PVP and PVE as well. Here's my Kaizen Clan tier list and guide.

Best Kaizen Clans Ranked

kaizen clan tier list

The best clan in Kaizen is Sukuna if you want max offense boosts and Mahito if you want a great mix of offense and defense. Gojo comes in third with a full focus on defense for PVP and PVE farming, otherwise Kamo, Itadori and Uraume are great alternatives. Let's dive into each clan below and analyze its stat bonuses, abilities and why they're ranked the way they are.

S-Tier Clans

S-Tier Clans Ranking Reasons Clan Stats

Sukuna
Mythic
• The strongest Clan in the game for offense and combines with one of the best CTs
• The Sukuna Mark is good by itself giving a damage and defense boost
• Overall, you just want it for the massive damage boosts
• Stat Bonuses
+10 Melee
+12 Cursed Energy
+13 Stamina
+13 Defense
+9% Cursed Energy Damage
+13% Max Cursed Energy

• Clan Ability: Sukuna Mark (Cost 500 CE)
Activate to get:
+1.15x Damage
+20% Movement Speed
+30 Defence
+1 Dismantle Slash
+Dash Range of Cleave Grab Increased

Mahito
Mythic
• Similar to Sukuna in power and is really tanky with all the Defense boosts in base and ability
• The clan ability is just good with everything
• Arguably better than Gojo since I prefer focusing on offense
• Stat Bonuses
+8 Melee
+10 Cursed Energy
+13 Stamina
+17 Defense
+6% Cursed Energy DMG
+10% Max Cursed Energy
+5% Walk Speed

• Clan Ability: Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing
Activate to get:
+20 Stamina
+20 Defense
+12.5% Melee DMG
+5% Weapon DMG
+12.5% Cursed Energy DMG
+5% Speed

Gojo
Mythic
• Top 3 most powerful clans in the game
• The reason I ranked it slightly lower than Mahito and Sukuna is that I prefer Sukuna for damage and Mahito for defense
• That said Infinity is one of the best defensive abilities in the game for both PVP and PVE
• It does drain CE though so you'll have to use it tactically to prevent combos
• Don't spam it or you'll run out of CE fast
• Stat Bonuses
+10 Melee
+15 Curse Energy
+10 Stamina
+10 Defense
+7 Curse Energy Damage
+20% Max Curse Energy

• Clan Ability: Infinity
Activate to get:
Invisible barrier around you slowing down all nearby movement and hindering attacks.
Using it gradually consumes CE while active.

A-Tier Clans

A-Tier Clans Ranking Reasons Clan Stats

Kamo
Mythic
• Kamo is a bit lower than other Mythics simply because it buffs a slightly weaker CT
• Flowing Red Scales is really strong but it relies on you using BLood Manipulation
• If you are maining BM then this is S-Tier
• Otherwise it's slightly less powerful than the other three Mythics but more powerful than Legendaries
• Stat Bonuses
+10 Melee
+10 Cursed Energy
+9 Stamina
+13 Defense
+7 Weapon
+3.75% Cursed Energy DMG
+3.75% Health
+8% Max Cursed Energy

• Clan Ability: Flowing Red Scales
Activate to get:
+50% speed
+7.5% attack speed
+30% dmg
Resets the ability bar and heals 50% HP when an enemy is killed
Slicing Storm (Blood Manipulation) shoots an extra projectile

Itadori
Legendary
• Drastically weaker than Kamo but still pretty good if you cannot get the higher tiers
• Essentally you have a 1 in 10 chance to crit
• IMO this is much better than Todo's slightly better stat buffs
• Stat Bonuses
+10 Melee
+5 Cursed Energy
+5% Melee DMG
+10% Max Cursed Energy

• Clan Ability: +10% Chance of Black Flash

Uraume
Legendary
• Weaker than Kamo and similar to Itadori where you want that 1 in 10 chance to freeze instead of deal extra damage
• Freezing is situationally much better than extra damage since it allows combo setups
• Much better than Todo's increased buffs
• Stat Bonuses
+10 Melee
+10 Cursed Energy
+5 Defense
+5% Cursed Technique DMG
+10% Max Cursed Energy

• Clan Ability: +10% Chance of Freeze

B-Tier Clans

B-Tier Clans Ranking Reasons Clan Stats

Todo
Legendary
• Has better stat buffs than the other Legendaries but their abilities make them slightly better
• Still this is the best beginner stat bonus you can get for melee damage builds
• Much stronger than Inumaki but I wanted to raise Inumaki above the other Epics so that's why they're in the same tier
• Stat Bonuses
+15 Melee
+10 Stamina
+10 Defense
+10% Melee DMG
+10% Max Stamina
+10% Max Cursed Energy

Inumaki
Epic
• Inumaki is the best Epic to deal some great damage with Cursed Speech and increase its hitboxes so it's easier to hit
• The stat bonuses are also the same or stronger than other Epics
• Stat Bonuses
+6 Cursed Energy
+6 Weapon
+5 Defense
+5% Melee DMG
+10% Cursed Energy DMG

• Clan Ability: +10% Cursed Speech Hitbox

C-Tier Clans

C-Tier Clans Ranking Reasons Clan Stats

Kugisaki
Epic
• Weak stat boosts but better than Rares
• Kugisaki is a great beginner clan though if you don't have many spins
• Stat Bonuses
+5 Cursed Energy
+6 Weapon
+5 Defense
+5% Weapon DMG
+5% Cursed Energy DMG

Uro
Epic
• Kugisaki but you get movement instead of defense
• The increases are minor either way so reroll this when you can
• Stat Bonuses
+5 Stamina
+5 Weapon
+3 Melee
+5% Walk Speed
+5% Stamina Regen

D-Tier Clans

These are just weaker stat boosts than Epics. Keep them if you're a beginner and don't have more spins. Otherwise always reroll rares and commons. That's it for my Kaizen Clan tier list and guide. Check out our Kaizen codes article for the best way to get Clan spins.

Chappell roan holding gun and standing by job board in fortnite

Weekly missions in Fortnite often ask you to engage with gameplay aspects you may not be super familiar with. One such quest tasks you with completing Job Boards, a feature you potentially haven't used at all this season.

Job Boards have been around for the full season, but they're quite easy to overlook, so there's a solid chance you may be unsure how to go about finding one and tackling the missions they give you. If this is the case, here's how to complete Job Boards in Fortnite.

What are Job Boards in Fortnite?

Getting treasure from job board in fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

Job Boards are special interactive points that offer one of two types of quests in Chapter Seven, season one. In past seasons, they've offered more missions and functioned a bit differently, so the way they work in this one may take some getting used to.

Every Job Board you find will offer either a Supply Drop quest or a Plunder quest. There's no way to choose what's available at each one, so if you don't like the mission you see, you'll have to seek out a different board around the map. The specifics for each type of quest are unique.

  • Supply Drop Job Boards – Can be interacted with to spawn in a Supply Drop nearby. It's a falling box attached to a parachute that will land some distance away. As soon as you activate this job, the location of the falling box will be marked, allowing you to make your way over to it as it descends. Open the Supply Drop to finish the Job Board.
  • Plunder Job Boards – Can be activated to spawn two treasure chests you need to find. The first one is marked with a yellow circle outlining the general area on your map. Venture to the designated region, then look for a hole with white sparkles. Strike at it with your Pickaxe to reveal the treasure chest. Then, a second circle will appear on your map at a new location. Repeat the same process to open a second chest and finish the Plunder Job Board.

Both types of Job Board tasks have a timer tied to them, so as soon as you accept either mission, you only have a limited timeframe to tackle them. If any other players swoop in and open the Supply Drop or treasure chests, you'll fail this quest, too, so there are a couple of potential factors working against you.

What do Job Boards give you in Fortnite?

Gold bars on ground from supply drop in Fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

You get a bunch of gold bars for successfully finishing any Job Board quest in Fortnite. There are no other prizes for finishing one of these missions, so if you aren't interested in gold bars, they're not really worth doing.

How to find Job Boards in Fortnite

Job Boards spawn randomly all across the island in each round, so there's no way to know exactly where they'll appear. You can, however, keep an eye on your mini map as you traverse around, as they're always marked by a special icon.

The icon you're looking for is a tiny magnifying glass on top of what looks like a stack of paper. Whenever a Job Board is within the vicinity of your mini map, it'll be marked on it, allowing you to swiftly make your way to one. They can spawn anywhere on the island, but seem to generally be more common close to and around main POIs, so check around named spots to have the best shot at finding them.

Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

Complete Job Boards in Fortnite

For the complete Job Boards weekly quest, you need to successfully finish a total of three Job Board missions. This means you can mix and match between the two types of Job Boards you can find around the island, but you have to fully see the quest through to get it done.

For Supply Drop missions, you need to seek out and open the Supply Drop within the designated timeframe. For Plunder quests, finding and opening two hidden treasure chests before the time runs out is crucial. Both can be a bit tricky to work through, especially the first time around, but you'll quickly get the hang of it as you navigate through this experience.

If you're up for some additional missions, there are loads of other quests worth tackling next. Some good ones to check off are entering Dumpsters or Flushers in different matches, finding Human Bill, touching a Zero Point Shard to investigate its mysterious effects, and finding Bigfoot.

Overwatch Rush logo

Blizzard's expansion of the Overwatch IP is coming to mobile phones. The long-rumored mobile Overwatch game was officially announced this morning. Say hello to Overwatch Rush.

While still early in development, the company unveiled a first look at early gameplay of the hero shooter spinoff, which has a top-down angle and is built specifically for mobile to help expand the Overwatch universe.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_GNt0ILldw

The new mobile game is being crafted by "a dedicated team at Blizzard, separate from Team 4, all of whom have deep mobile experience," Blizzard said. Main Overwatch dev Team 4 "remains fully focused on Overwatch, which will continue to bring exciting and fresh new experiences for PC and console players in its recently launched season one and beyond."

This is a whole new game built from the ground up for mobile, but the gameplay video, with some cringy and questionable game chatter, shows what looks like some classic Overwatch game type gameplay with the unique third-person perspective.

"While there remains a lot of work to do, we're eager to see how players enjoy what we've built so far, and to hear from them on what we should focus on in the coming phases of development," Blizzard said. "Our mission is to continue to expand the Overwatch universe by bringing fresh new adventures to players across all platforms. We'll continue to keep you updated on how things are progressing."

I've never been the biggest fan of mobile gameplay, as I can't really vibe with the touch controls. But if the game supports controllers, then I could see this being something I would dabble in from time to time. When it comes to hero shooters, the characters pull a lot of the weight, and OW heroes are already very established, so that could bode well for this one.

Blizzard's history with mobile has seen its successes, with titles like Hearthstone, Diablo Immortal, and Warcraft Rumble finding some foothold with gamers on iOS and Android. Whenever a non-mobile IP comes to phones, it's always a bit of a gamble whether or not it will become a hit with mobile-first gamers. An example of one that didn't strike a chord was Call of Duty's Warzone Mobile, which did not translate to mobile players and had its development shut down.

Overwatch Rush has its own Discord server where players can stay up to date on news, including when the game rolls out for testing "in select countries and regions."

The post Yes, we all have phones: Overwatch Rush is Blizzard's latest foray into mobile gaming, and it looks kind of cool appeared first on Destructoid.

Comet and Firefly in ARC Raiders

The Comet is a cheeky little enemy that you can access in ARC Raiders following the introduction of the Shrouded Sky update, and you'll have to take them down for different reasons.

For starters, destroying them allows you to loot different items, which include the Comet Igniter. You'll also need the Comet Igniter to complete one of the stages of the Weather Monitor system.

How to get the Comet Igniter in ARC Raiders

To get a Comet Igniter, you have to destroy and salvage a Comet. Anything goes as long as you manage to destroy it entirely. The Comet doesn't have a fixed location, but I found one at the spot marked below.

ARC Raiders comet location
Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

The Comet is less frequent compared to Fireballs and Pops, but much more common than the Surveyor. In fact, the Comet looks very similar to the Surveyor. While the latter runs away once you spot it, the Comet will try to ambush and explode near you.

Once the Comet spots your location, it will roll towards you and then charge its explosion. If you get trapped, you'll die. To take it down, try to engage it from a distance. That way, you'll already have done a fair amount of damage before it comes close.

Additionally, using a Hullcracker makes your life easier. When the Comet is charging its explosion, it will expose the core. You can shoot at the core to do more damage (just like how it works with Fireballs).

Getting the Comet Igniter in ARC Raiders
Image via Embark

As of writing, a destroyed Comet doesn't seem to guarantee an Igniter, so if you don't get one right away, keep trying.

How to use the Comet Igniter in ARC Raiders

So far, the only use for the Comet Igniter appears to be in the Weather Monitor Project. However, that could change in the future with new updates. Several ARC items are required to produce different explosives, ammunition, and more.

Hence, it's best to get as much Comet Igniter as possible. You can always sell them to make some quick credits as well.
