Between Slay the Princess and Scarlet Hollow, Black Tabby is fast turning into a developer whose games you can't afford to ignore.

Slay the Princess proved to be a stunning accomplishment for Black Tabby Games. The team crafted an exceptional story that defied expectations and felt like a refreshing addition to our visual novel libraries. Scarlet Hollow, an episodic follow-up, proves that wasn't a one-off. The developer once again shows it knows how to handle compelling narratives with many possible outcomes. While there's still The Final Chapters to close things out and we typically don't review early access games here at Siliconera, I feel confident in already stamping a seal of approval on this already-impressive title.

You've never been to Scarlet Hollow. You know the Scarlet came from there and is renowned, or rather notorious, but your mother Vivian never brought you to her hometown. After learning your cousin Tabitha's mother and owner of the town's Scarlet Mine died, you take the bus in to stay with her for a week to be there for her and attend the funeral. However, something you soon learn your mother had good reason for leaving, as things are off in the small town. It isn't that it's a dying community with a failing mine. There are otherworldly and supernatural things going on, and it seems things will only get more dangerous the longer you stay.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjBop46lTn8

While Scarlet Hollow is a traditional visual novel in that involves reading the story and making choices at certain points that change the course of relationships and directions, there are a few elements to it that almost make it feel a bit more like going through a D&D campaign due to the way you establish yourself early on. You aren't a default and predetermined individual. You select two out of seven traits at the outset, which can determine different responses or possibilities when exploring the town and dealing with situations. So Talk to Animals perk  will let you talk to the critters around the area. (But at the same time, you need to be careful about doing so in front of people so they don't get suspicious!) If you select Powerful Build, you'll be able to get physical to solve problems.  Going with Mystical as one of your innate abilities means you'll be more aware of the supernatural elements.

Another thing that makes Scarlet Hollow stand out is how involved the choices can get. With most visual novels, you make a choice and it sets you down a certain route toward a certain ending. (Black Tabby Games' Slay the Princess worked like this.) But there's so much going on here with a staggering number of variants that can affect certain outcomes, relationships with individuals, information you do or don't possess, and possible options available to handle situations. I feel like sometimes it can feel more like an adventure game, given how often I'd need to think critically about how a choice might affect my character heading into future episodes in terms of their capabilities or potential allies and enemies.

This is especially true with Tabitha, our cousin in Scarlet Hollow. While there are some more friendly and even romantic-leaning relationships with other characters, there's a sense of nuance to the dynamic with her that really makes the game stand out. There are many times when I felt like choices I made or responses I chose, even if they weren't directly to her, shaped her opinion of me. Given the connection throughout the episodes and storyline, it results in some fascinating outcomes. Even better, the reactions made me want to know what would happen if I did choose other extremes or possibilities.

Which is another plus about Scarlet Hollow, as it's evident this will be another Slay the Princess style game where Black Tabby Games makes replaying seem so appealing that it'd be mandatory. The number of cogs and factors here seem staggering. Especially when you factor in the traits. Different combinations feel like they could be so fun! I have two save files going right now with different builds so I can (hopefully) see two different endings from different extremes, but I'm still tempted to go through even more.

Also stunning is the visual direction in Scarlet Hollow, as Black Tabby Games went with a similar artistic direction as Slay the Princess. There are occasional bits of color, which feel muted and sepia-toned, but it's largely a monochromatic kind of affair. Everything looks hand-drawn and sketchy, like the kind of art you'd see used in dark, original Grimm's Fairy Tales or the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark illustrations. It's eerie, haunting, and gorgeous.

Between Slay the Princess and Scarlet Hollow, Black Tabby Games is fast turning into a developer whose titles you can't afford to ignore. The creativity, character development, and world-building are excellent in this latest visual novel, and the degree to which our experiences can change based on our choices is astonishing. It's so well-thought out and impressive, and a perfect example of "your choices matter."

Scarlet Hollow episodes 1-5 are available in early access for PCs via Steam, and the first episode is free in the demo.

Voltage Converter in ARC Raiders

The Voltage Converter has been a rare item to find in ARC Raiders, and its demand has been high for several reasons.

The Shrouded Sky update has made it more important for you to find the Voltage Converter to complete the Weather Monitor System project. Let's look at where you can find the item in the first place.

Best locations for Voltage Converter in ARC Raiders

The Voltage Converter is an electrical item, so you'll need to look for areas tagged as the same. All five maps have areas tagged Electrical, and those zones will have higher odds of spawning the Voltage Converter.

If you want to zero down to specific maps, you can try your luck on either the Dam Battlegrounds or the Stella Montis map. If you're on the Dam Battlegrounds map, go to the northern part of the map. The Power Generation Complex has plenty of electrical items you can get as loot. You'll also find the newly-added Controlled Access Zone that can help you with more loot once you solve the puzzle.

If you're on Stella Montis, there are multiple zones to check out. Specifically, you'll want to check out the Lobby, the Tunnels, and the Communications.

If you want more options, the Fuel Control Tower in Spaceport and the Pilgrim's Peak on Blue Gate are great locations to check.

If you don't want ot rely on your luck, you can simply go to the Traders tab and speak with Celese. She sells five Voltage Converters daily, with each costing 10 Assorted Seeds.

You can also obtain a Voltage Converter by recycling the following items.

  • Heavy Shield
  • Industrial Charger
  • Ion Sputter
  • Signal Amplifier

How to use Voltage Converter in ARC raiders

You'll need three Voltage Converters to complete the Weather Monitor System project. You'll need the item in the final stage of the project. Submitting the items will get you a Tactical Mk. 3 Revival augment, and the group rewards (1 Anemometer Backpack Charm and 250 Raider Tokens).

You'll also need the Voltage Converter to produce the following items.

  • Heavy Shield (Requires Power Rod and Voltage Converter)
  • Showstopper (Requires Electrical Components, Hornet Driver, and Voltage Converter)

The Showstopper is great at hindering bigger ARCs, so try to gather as much Voltage Converter as possible.

Jinu dancing by a treasure cannon in fortnite

The Visitor's got quite a collection of quests for you to tackle, many of which challenge you to interact with gameplay mechanics you likely don't usually use in Fortnite. One such mission tasks you with using Treasure Cannons to collect items for the base.

Treasure Cannons aren't common, and can only be found and interacted with around one specific location on the island. Because of this, there's a high likelihood you've never seen them before. Here's how to find and use Treasure Cannons to collect items for the base in Fortnite.

Where to find Treasure Cannons in Fortnite

Treasure cannons map location marked in fortnite
Screenshot by Destructoid

You can find Treasure Cannons near the large water pool at Wonkeeland in Fortnite. Specifically, they are found around the pool at the bottom of the massive waterslide near the far northern edge of this theme park area, which is Rexxer's Rumble Ruins. To access the pool, you can simply walk over to the area from anywhere in Wonkeeland, or hop in one of the nearby Flusher locations to go up to the top of the ride and slide down into it.

Around this area, there are only a few Treasure Cannons to interact with. They're quite rare, which can make finding and interacting with the required number rather tough. Luckily, there are enough to get the use Treasure Cannons to collect items for the base done in one match.

Treasure Cannons are yellow and silver cannons that are propped up on a wooden base with wheels. All of them have an animated golden sparkle to them, which is helpful for pinpointing their exact locations once you're in the right area.

Most interactive items you're tasked with finding in Fortnite have quite a few spawn locations around the island. Treasure Cannons are a unique exception, though, and only exist around this specific area. Luckily, they're guaranteed to be at this same spot in every round, making them easy to find and use once you know where to look.

How to use Treasure Cannons in Fortnite

Screenshot by Destructoid

To use a Treasure Cannon, approach one and select the button that pops up next to the "Light fuse" option. This button varies by platform, but is always displayed by this text if the cannon hasn't been used yet and can still be triggered.

Upon selecting this option, the Treasure Cannon will charge up for a few seconds. Then, after a short period of time has passed, it'll spit out a random collection of loot items you can pick up nearby. The exact loot each one drops varies, but usually includes gold bars, ammo, and a weapon or two.

If there's no option to interact with the Treasure Cannon, it means another player has already set it off and claimed the rewards it was hiding. Because there are only a few of them around, it's a good idea to land at Wonkeeland straight from the battle bus when you're working on this quest. You can easily start off the round by triggering them, since doing so helps you obtain useful loot.

Use Treasure Cannons to collect items for the base in Fortnite

Interacting with a treasure cannon in fortnite

For the use Treasure Cannons to collect items for the base quest given to you by The Visitor, you need to find and activate a total of three Treasure Cannons. Although this mission mentions collecting items, you don't actually have to pick anything up to progress with it. Instead, all you need to do is light three different Treasure Cannons to get it done.

There are plenty of other tricky missions you can check off next to earn additional XP and claim some sweet battle pass levels. If you're not sure what to tackle, consider working on touching a Zero Point Shard to investigate its mysterious effects, finding Human Bill, spreading the newspapers about Kingston's new movie, and completing Job Boards.

A sim with a shiny silver crown talking on the phone in the sims 4

The Lost Legacies event in The Sims 4 focuses a lot on the Royal Envoy, which means you'll frequently need to meet up with her as you work through various missions. Sometimes, it's easy to interact with her, while others, it's surprisingly tough, as is the case with the call the Royal Envoy quest.

The Royal Envoy is up to something shady, so it makes sense with the storyline that she's not always easy to track down. Still, you do have to figure out how to get in touch with her, as you'll be unable to progress otherwise. If this mission has you stuck, here's how to call the Royal Envoy in The Sims 4.

Call the Royal Envoy in The Sims 4

A Sim tapping their phone in the sims 4
Screenshot by Destructoid

You can call the Royal Envoy by selecting the "Chat with..." option through your Sims phone. There are quite a few different ways to find and interact with the Royal Envoy, but when you get to this particular task, only one method actually checks it off, making it a bit trickier than you might expect to get done.

You can usually call Sims directly through the Relationships panel, but this quick and easy method didn't work for me with this task. The requirements for this one are very specific, so if you're stuck, here's a full breakdown of how to work through this mission.

  • Select the phone option. This icon can be found in the bottom left corner of the screen, right between the notepad and calendar options.
  • Locate the social icon. Look through the apps on your Sims phone to find the social icon, which features a mouth with a chat bubble coming out of it.
  • Find the "Chat with..." option. On the social page, locate and select the "Chat with..." option.
  • Select the Royal Envoy. Under this tab, she'll be listed with her real name, which is Marina Corsair, so look for this name instead. You can also search through the list and find her based on some of her defining features, as she's got bright red hair and an elegant black, green, and gold vest on.

Chat with... option marked on sims phone in the sims 4
Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

This chat takes a pretty long time to complete, longer than conversations with other Sims usually take, so if you feel like it's not working, try to be patient with it. Odds are, it's working fine, as this task simply takes a while to get done.

I thought it was glitched because it was taking so long, but eventually, the quest did check off as complete. The full chatting action must be complete for the mission to be finished, so let your Sim talk to the Royal Envoy for however long it takes to get it done.

There are plenty of other missions to get done in the Lost Legacies event after you call the Royal Envoy. Next, you might work on surprising the Royal Envoy, traveling to the Blue Velvet Nightclub to investigate, deciding whether you should forgive the Royal Envoy or not, and venturing to the Municipal Muses Museum.

A sim in a green dress and a gold crown standing in front of the blue velvet nightclub in the sims 4

Throughout the Lost Legacies event in The Sims 4, you'll be asked to visit quite an array of unique locations around the world. You may not be familiar with many of these spots, nor know where to find them, as might be the case with the Blue Velvet Nightclub.

There are plenty of lots to visit, so tracking down any particular one can be tough. Venturing to a few specific spots is crucial for the event, though, so here's where to find the Blue Velvet Nightclub in The Sims 4.

Blue Velvet Nightclub location in The Sims 4

Blue velvet club map location marked in the sims 4
Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

The Blue Velvet Nightclub can be found in the Crawdad Quarter neighborhood in Willow Creek. It's one of four buildings situated in a row of community lots near the bottom left corner of the map. This particular lot is right in between the Municipal Muses Museum and the Movers & Shakers Gym. It's also directly south of Magnolia Blossom Park, the massive 50x50 community lot right in between all of the different neighborhoods you can visit in this world.

Like most lots, this one can be freely edited or replaced with any other type of lot you like. It will always be the Blue Velvet Nightclub by default, but there's a chance you may have removed it. If you're working through the event in a save where you've gotten rid of the Blue Velvet Nightclub in favor of another sommunity lot or a residential one, you can try to visit whatever lot you placed there instead, but there's a decent chance it won't work, leaving you unable to progress in the event.

If this is the case, you can switch over to a clean, fresh save, or any other save you have that does have this lot to check this quest off. It's generally best to work on events in saves that retain most of the base game lots for both Willow Creek and Oasis Springs, as you typically need to visit quite a few of them in each one.

Sim with a green dress and gold crown sitting at bar in blue velvet nightclub in the sims 4
Screenshot by Destructoid

You'll be tasked with visiting the Blue Velvet Nightclub a couple of different times throughout the Lost Legacies event as you get closer to learning what the Royal Envoy is up to. Sometimes you'll simply need to meet her at this spot to catch up or receive new missions from her, while other times you'll need to ask around and investigate what she's truly up to to get closer to the truth.

After visiting this spot for the last time, be sure to stick close to the nearby area, as the final event missions all take place right by the Blue Velvet Nightclub. To finish off the last week of quests in the Lost Legacies event, you'll need to figure out how to surprise the Royal Envoy so you can then make a big final choice in the event, which is to forgive or report the Royal Envoy. Both tasks unfold in the surrounding area just off this lot, so it's easiest to work through them while your Sim is already there.

kaizen weapon and fighting style tier list and guide for pvp and pve

When considering the best weapon and fighting style in KAIZEN it's all about the most effective progression. Both categories have either one or two options that are clearly the best so I'll be analysing which ones to skip and how do the late-game options compare to each other. Here's my KAIZEN weapon and fighting style tier list and guide.

KAIZEN Weapon Tier List

kaizen weapon tier list for pvp and pve

The best weapon in KAIZEN is the Soul Split Katana dealing the best damage and having the strongest moveset. This tier list is all about the best progression to reach Soul Split Katana. I highly recommend going from Slaughter Demon to Mantis Edge straight away and skipping Grade 3s until you get the best Grade 1s Blood Scythe or Frost Fangs. Then you can use these to farm SSK and then perhaps combine it with Straw Doll or Cryofrost for a late-game weapon build. Let's dive into more details below.

Related: KAIZEN Cursed Technique Tier List

S-Tier Weapons

S-Tier Weapons Ranking Reason

Soul Split Katana
Special Grade
• The best DPS and the best mobility out of all the weapons
• Soul Vortex and Severing Draw give you so many movement options to catch up to opponents and keep applying pressure
• They're also great combo starters into Spirit Dissection which deals a ton of damage
• Combines well with Cryofrost or Straw Doll for combos and Combo Binding Vow for damage

A-Tier Weapons

A-Tier Weapons Ranking Reason

Blood Scythe or Frost Fangs
Grade 1
• Both of these are the best weapons to get before SSK
• They combine amazingly well with Straw Doll for mid-to-late game melee builds since SD has great stuns
• Blood Scythe has great AOE range options
• Frost Fangs has ranged poke, a strong combo extender and mobility
• Overall, they're much stronger than the other Grade 1s and below

B-Tier Weapons

B-Tier Weapons Ranking Reason

Cursed Spear or Cursed Daggers
Grade 1
• Weaker alternatives of the A-Tiers
• Still, the Daggers are a great support weapon for mobility
• The spear has decent single-target damage for some bosses
• That said the Grade 1s in A-Tier are much better

C-Tier Weapons

C-Tier Weapons Ranking Reason

Mantis Edge
Grade 3
• The best weapon to get after the starting weapon
• The great early-to-mid game PVE damage from Mantis will carry you until you get A-Tiers
• I would rush Blood Scythe or Frost Fangs after Mantis Edge and skip Grade 2 weapons

D-Tier Weapons

While the Grade 2 weapons can sometimes deal better damage than Mantis Edge they're not really worth grinding. It's better to go Slaughter Demon into Mantis Edge into Grade 1 weapons. That's why I put them in the lowest tier. Emperial Sword is better than Slaughter Demon but again, it's better to just skip to Mantis Edge if you don't want to grind a lot.

KAIZEN Fighting Style Tier List

kaizen fighting style tier list for pvp and pve

The best Fighting Styles in KAIZEN are easy to rank since there's not that many yet. Mainly you're choosing between Heavenly and Black Flash. Black Flash has higher base damage while Heavenly has better combo potential. As for the other two they're just stepping stones from early to mid game. Let's dive into the details of each one below.

Related: KAIZEN Clan Tier List

Fighting Styles Notes

Heavenly
Late-game Option 1
• While Black Flash deals more damage on average Heavenly is better in two aspects
• First, for PVP and PVE humanoid bosses it has a better great combo starter with X and extender with V
• Second, Heavenly beats Black Flash on stamina use
• So Heavenly is usually better since it allows you to continue your combos and therefore do more damage
• To get V you need to roll for the Physical Heavenly Restriction binding vow

Get from Toji raid on the outskirts of Shibuya.

Black Flash
Late-game Option 2
• Black Flash moves deal more damage than Heavenly by themselves
• Therefore, you get more burst damage per move if that suits your playstyle better
• That said, the Heavenly combo extender and stamina management IMO make it better

Cursed Fist
Mid-game
• A stronger version of Divergent Fists that you will use to farm up to Black Flash or Heavenly

That's it for my KAIZEN weapon and fighting style tier list and guide. Check out our KAIZEN codes for free rewards like Binding Vow spins which you'll need a lot of to get Physical Restriction for Heavenly's V move.

A Sim in a green dress and gold crown walking up behind the royal envoy fishing to surprise her in the sims 4

You've uncovered the truth about what the Royal Envoy has been up to in the Lost Legacies event, and it's time to confront her about her actions in The Sims 4. To do so, you have to catch her before she flees, so you need to surprise her.

This mission is quite tough to work through, as the Royal Envoy is attempting to make a quick and sneaky getaway. Finding her at this point is rather tricky, so if you're stuck on this quest, here's how to surprise the Royal Envoy in The Sims 4.

Where to find the Royal Envoy to surprise her in The Sims 4

Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

When the Royal Envoy is plotting to make her grand escape, she can be found near the lake area behind the row of community lots in the Crawdad Quarter neighborhood in Willow Creek. The spot she can be found at is right next to the Municipal Muses Museum and the Blue Velvet Nightclub. It's an interactive area with some picnic tables, grills, and fishing spots.

The easiest way to access this area is to travel to the Blue Velvet Nightclub, then walk down the stone path between this lot and the Municipal Muses Museum. When you reach the end of the stone path, move on to the grassy area, then make a slight right to cross over to the dirt so you end up at the picnic area next to the lake.

For this mission, the Royal Envoy doesn't spawn at an actual lot. Instead, she wanders around an outside area in the neighborhood. This makes pinpointing her location rather tough, as the neighborhood is fairly large and you're not given much guidance for where to look.

Once you complete the mission right before this one, which asks you to talk to the mixologist at the Blue Velvet Nightclub, the Royal Envoy will then spawn nearby. She's not there before this point, and it takes her a bit to get over to the lake, so let the game play for a while before you start searching for her.

Surprise the Royal Envoy in The Sims 4

Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

To surprise the Royal Envoy, click on her and select the "Surprise!" option once she's hanging out near the lake. For me, she started fishing once she arrived in the area, so it took a bit to get her to respond, but she may not always be.

This option will only be available once she's by the lake, since this is part of the Lost Legacies event story. At this point, she's attempting to flee, so surprising her to let her know you've learned of her schemes is the only way to stop her.

After you surprise her, you're then faced with the final event mission, which is deciding whether you should forgive the Royal Envoy or not. After that, you're done with the entire Lost Legacies event, which means you can move on to other tasks, like pulling the sword from the stone, exploring Ondarion, and finding the Blacksmith.

Fantasy FC FPL promo in FC 26

Things are about to get interesting in FC 26 with the second batch of Fantasy FC promo, since some of the cards will get upgrades based on the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) competition.

Typically, Fantasy FC cards have their own set of rules when it comes to the upgrades. However, an exclusive batch of Premier League-based Fantasy FC cards from Team 2 will have different rules for the upgrades.

How does Fantasy FC x FPL upgrades work in FC 26

Unlike standard Fantasy FC cards, FPL items will have separate rules for upgrades. Every upgrade will be determined by how many FPL points the footballers secure during Matchweek 29 (March 3 and March 5).

FPL Points Upgrades
0-1 Plus 1 OVR and an additional Role++
2-3 Plus 2 OVR, and all Roles++ for the main position
4-5 Plus 3 OVR, all Roles++ for all positions, a 2nd PlayStyle+, and 1 base PlayStyle
6-7 Plus 4 OVR, all Roles++ for all positions, a 2nd PlayStyle+, and 2 base PlayStyles
8+ points Plus 5 OVR, all Roles++ for all positions, a 2nd PlayStyle+, 2 base PlayStyles, and 5-Star Skill Moves or Weak Foot

FC 26 Fantasy FC FPL upgrades tracker

The table below has the complete tracker for all ten cards that will be available with the launch of Team 2.

Kiernan Dewsbury Hall
Alex Jimenez
Mathys Tel
Brenden Aaronson
Raul Jimenez

Matheus Nunes

The empty columns in the table above will be filled once Matchweek 29 goes live. Similarly, we will also figure out the overall ratings of the live cards when they're released in Ultimate Team. Every Ultimate Team player will be able to pick one live card by participating in the Fantasy FC Rush Event when that becomes available.

A Sim in a green dress and a gold crown looking over shoulder at royal envoy in the sims 4

At the very end of the Lost Legacies event in The Sims 4, you're presented with a huge choice. This decision asks you to decide whether or not to forgive the Royal Envoy after you've learned the truth about what she's up to.

You've spent the full event uncovering her web of lies and deceit, so when faced with this choice, it's a pretty big call to make. You may be wondering what happens with each available decision, and which one ultimately has better results, so here's whether or not you should forgive the Royal Envoy in The Sims 4.

What did the Royal Envoy do in The Sims 4?

Forgive and report options on royal envoy in the sims 4
Screenshot and remix by Destructoid

Throughout the event, you uncover the truth, which is that the Royal Envoy has been trying to steal from the royal families to pawn off their treasures for money. When you confront her to let her know you've learned of her master plan, she'll ask you to forgive her and let it go, promising to stop now that she's been caught. You're then given the choice to either forgive her or report her for her crimes.

What happens if you forgive the Royal Envoy in The Sims 4?

If you choose to forgive the Royal Envoy, she will be very grateful for your choice, and the end event text will display a thankful message from her. Your relationship with her remains unchanged with this choice. Here's the full message you get for forgiving her.

"Marina, the Envoy, sighs with relief and smiles as they say, 'Thank you so much, [Your Sim's Name], for not turning me in. I saw an opportunity and got carried away. Do everyone a favor and look after those treasures. I might pay them a surprise visit one day.' With that, Marina leaves for now.

What happens if you don't forgive the Royal Envoy in The Sims 4?

If you choose to report the Royal Envoy, she will be upset at your decision, and the end event text will display a lengthy statement of revenge and anger from her. This won't affect your relationship with her at all, though, and although she pledges revenge in the future, she won't actually come back to do anything. Here's her full statement if you choose not to forgive her.

"Marina, the Envoy, looks in disbelief as [Your Sim's Name] recounts all the deceit, nefarious plans, and how it will be reported to the royal families. In response, Marina shouts, '[Your Sim's Name], know that I will remember this moment for all eternity. Take advantage while you can; I will have my revenge one day!' With that, Marina leaves for now, and with all of their plans foiled..."

Forgive the Royal Envoy or not in The Sims 4

Screenshot by Destructoid

There are no real consequences or differences for choosing to forgive the Royal Envoy or not, so which option is best to choose ultimately just comes down to your own personal preferences. All event rewards remain the same regardless, with the only difference being the end event text you see. Even your relationship with the Royal Envoy stays the same no matter what, so the difference between the two is simply a few lines of text that don't actually affect anything.

When you're ready to make your choice, you can do so by clicking on the Royal Envoy and selecting either the "Forgive" or "Report Actions" option. Both have the Lost Legacies event icon next to them, making them easier to spot among the available interaction options.

Now that you've dealt with the Royal Envoy however you see fit, you can move on to other tasks. Next, you might consider setting out to explore Ondarion and uncovering everything the regal world has to offer, like pulling the sword from the stone and finding the Blacksmith.

RE9 Requiem crying zombie

It's time to embrace the fear in Resident Evil Requiem, especially when playing as inexperienced FBI agent Grace Ashcroft.

While series veteran Leon S. Kennedy is back to his ass-kicking ways, Grace has to scavenge for every item and bullet she can to survive the horrors within Rhodes Hill Chronic Care center. This means exploring every option, opening every locked door and drawer, and keeping your head on a swivel.

While exploring the creepy hospital, Grace will come across some warped doors that she cannot open. We've got the info you need on how and when you can get them open, and what you need to get whatever's behind them.

Resident Evil Requiem - "The door is warped and won't open"

Screenshot by Destructoid

While playing as Grace in Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, you will come across several doors and closets that say "the door is warped and won't open." Grace is unable to open these, but fear not, because there is a solution.

Any of these doors that you come across will be marked on your map, and eventually, you will be able to explore the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center as Leon. He can open these doors with his hatchet. This allows Leon to loot items from the closets and also reach areas that Grace cannot.

When you swap scenarios after a while and are able to explore Rhodes Hill as Leon, check your map for icons that denote where these closets or doors are. You can then head there as Leon to open them and reap the rewards inside.

It's important to reiterate that Grace cannot open these doors, but Leon can. So, while playing as Grace, inspect the doors and then continue on your journey so that Leon can open them when you play as him a bit later. Don't bother looking for an item or tool for Grace to open them because it doesn't exist.

Grace Ashcroft RE9 Requiem

Resident Evil is known for its puzzles almost as much as its zombies, and there are a handful in Resident Evil Requiem that can stop your progression towards survival.

One of the first puzzles you'll find in RE Requiem is in the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, on the second floor of the building. The Chairman's Office houses several photos and files to peruse, but also a puzzle that you can solve to get one of the first key items in the game.

Here's how to solve the Rhodes Hill Chairman's Office in Resident Evil Requiem.

Chairman's Office puzzle solution in Resident Evil Requiem

The Chairman's Office in the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care center is one of the first very important rooms Grace will enter during her segments of the game. A puzzle involving Sun, Moon, and Star shapes lies in your way of progressing. Very reminiscent of the RPD puzzles in the Resident Evil 2 remake, no?

You can get the solution by finding items in the area, including the Chairman's Note and a Pencil that you can use to shade it in to find the answer. But we've got the solution here, and it is from left to right:

  • Moon
  • Sun
  • Star
  • Moon

Entering in the code properly will open up the device and reward the Moon Quartz. This item can be placed in the door of the main lobby area of Rhodes Hill, but it's the first of three that you will need to open the door up to escape the facility.

Keep fighting, Grace, you have a long journey to go.

Rhodes Hill RE9 Requiem

Grace's journey through the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center in Resident Evil Requiem is full of obstacles. And zombies with weapons is just one of them.

In order to properly navigate through Rhodes Hill to escape it, you need to find some key items to open up a door to get outside. Naturally, because this is Resident Evil, and nothing is ever simple or without some kind of silly puzzle standing in your way.

Another Sun, Star, and Moon puzzle stops Grace in Rhodes Hill, but there's also some annoyances that stop you from finishing it. Here's what you need to do to open up the Lead Researcher's Office puzzle in RE Requiem.

Lead Researcher's Office puzzle solution in Resident Evil Requiem

The solution to this puzzle can be found within files found earlier in the game in the Chairman's Office, including Lead Researcher's Picture 1 and Lead Researcher's Picture 2. In these photos, you can see the solution to open up the device in the background.

First, you need a special item to open up the case, which is the Corrosive found within the Conference Room in Rhodes Hill. Getting to the Conference Room requires encountering the massively obese Chunk enemy and getting it to leave the area so you can make your way to it.

There are a number of zombies in the Conference Room, including a singer who has no issues hitting the high notes. But once you have the Corrosive, you can bring it back to the Lead Researcher's office to melt the lock and gain access to the puzzle.

The puzzle solution to open up the device in the Lead Researcher's Office in RE Requiem is as follows:

  • Star
  • Sun
  • Moon
  • Sun

Inside, another key item for Rhodes Hill can be found. Grace's journey continues onward, however, so keep safe and be ready to fight if necessary.

Resident Evil Requiem zombie lady

It just wouldn't be a Resident Evil game without some morbid puzzles, would it?

Resident Evil Requiem has a handful of puzzles to decipher to survive the journey, but you won't need to give up your lungs or heart to solve them. Someone else already did that! Whenever you come across the Organ Transport Box in RE Requiem, you need to open it (because of course you do), and you will soon find a panel that you need to figure out to pop it open.

Here's how to open the Organ Transport Box in Resident Evil Requiem and get whatever is within.

Resident Evil Requiem Organ Transport Box solution

While playing as Grace Ashcroft, once you obtain the Organ Transport Box from the Garage in Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center (and survive the ridiculous encounter with a zombie driving a giant bulldozer), you need to find the solution to open it. The file with the solution is found on the second floor of the East Wing, but we've got the info you require to open it and get the goods without having to worry about that.

  1. Inspect the Organ Transport Box in your inventory.
  2. Turn the middle knob from Auto to Hand.
  3. Lift the leveler on the right side to the middle notch.
  4. Enter this sequence on the numbered switches:

    • 1. Up, 2. Down, 3. Up, 4. Up, 5. Down - (Check the image below)

  5. Turn the middle knob from Hand to Auto.

The image below from the File illustrates what you need to do to get it open:

Hooray! Enjoy some lungs. Now, you must bring these organs to the cadaver within the Examination Room on the first floor of the East Wing in Rhodes Hill. But you're not done yet. Keep on fighting, Grace, you got this!

RE9 Requiem RPD

When it comes to surviving a horrifying zombie event in Resident Evil, it really takes scavenging everything you can get to even the odds.

In Resident Evil Requiem, Grace Ashcroft is facing unimaginable fears for the first time. For Leon S. Kennedy, it's just another weekday. Either way, both of them need gear to help battle bio-organic weapons and zombies, so it's important to get what you can.

Like in previous titles, Requiem features safes with valuable items inside. To open them, you need safe combination codes, and we've got all the info you need on every safe in the game to get what's inside. This guide is relatively spoiler-free, too, so keep it ready for when it's time to crack these safes.

All safe codes in Resident Evil Requiem

RE9 Requiem Raccoon City virus

I love a good easter egg, especially when it's a callback to games I played almost 30 years ago.

Resident Evil Requiem includes a good amount of fun fan-service for long-time fans of the franchise, and a lot of it is found within the RPD that Leon explores during one of his segments in the game. A briefcase is found in the S.T.A.R.S. Office on the second floor, but you need a code to open it.

Here's how to unlock that briefcase in the S.T.A.R.S. Office in Resident Evil Requiem.

How to unlock the STARS Office briefcase in Resident Evil Requiem

Screenshot by Destructoid

To unlock the briefcase in the S.T.A.R.S. Office in the RPD, it involves scouring the police station's ruins for hints left behind. Finding the solution requires finding and reading several files, the first of which is on the far left desk in the S.T.A.R.S. Office, Barry Burton's desk.

This file is called Barry's To-Do List and hints at a TOP PRIORITY to "find that missing library book" and that "the captain checked it out last." That's our old buddy Albert Wesker, who has his own office within the S.T.A.R.S. Office.

Enter his office and check the desk drawer. A note will fall out, and it's a Library Card that contains your next clue: it says that Wesker checked out the book, Medicinal Benefits of Herbs, and returned it two days later. Naturally, now it's time tohead down the hall to the Library.

The book we're after is on the second floor of the library, on the other side of the bridge connecting both sides. You can see it pictured below, along with what is found within:

  • RE9 RPD book location
  • RE9 briefcase code solution

Yep. The classic Resident Evil 2 easter egg featuring Rebecca Chambers in an RPD outfit and posing with a basketball. If you flip it around, you can see something written: Rising Rookie Rebecca. And there you have it. That's our code to open the briefcase.

Head back to the S.T.A.R.S. Office armory and open up the briefcase using "RRR" as your solution, and grab the loot inside: the Power Shades Charm.

Screenshot by Destructoid

This charm that Leon can equip to his Requiem hand cannon "offers limitless bullet penetration and increases the firepower of the last bullet in the cylinder." Good old Wesker and his trademark sunglasses.

RE9 Requiem RPD

You didn't think we'd be going back to the RPD without some fun and easter eggs, did you?

Resident Evil Requiem's events take a nostalgic turn once Leon returns to the site of the catalyst for his entire career and life, the Raccoon City Police Department. Inside the RPD, which is crumbling and in ruins, Leon can revisit some of his most painful memories, including his first true loss: Marvin Branagh.

But within the RPD, there's also some old-school joy to be had. And it all comes to a head when you reach the S.T.A.R.S. Office once more.

Resident Evil Requiem RPD scavenger hunt solution

In his old man dad style, RE1 and RE Revelations 2 star Barry Burton left some pictures and clues around the office for the S.T.A.R.S. members to find a prize. And now you can grab that prize yourself, 28 years later, after the city has been bombed to hell. Better late than never?

Barry's two scavenger hunt clues are found in the S.T.A.R.S. Office on the second floor of the west side of the RPD. The photo clues can be found in the storage closet to your right when you enter the room, and in Chris Redfield's jacket on the wall opposite the door you came in. They are pictured below:

  • RPD Scavenger Hunt clues Resident Evil Requiem
  • RPD Scavenger Hunt clues Resident Evil Requiem

These clues will send you to the Operations Room back on the first floor, where you can look up and see a couple of televisions bolted to the ceiling. Enter the room, turn around, and the TV will be up and to your left. Climb up on the desk and then grab the item, which is a key to open a locker in the West Office down the hallway.

RPD Operations Room TV key location

Head back into the West Office, and on your right, you can find the locker that needs the key. When you open it, inside you'll find the special S.T.A.R.S. Emblem Charm that Leon can equip to his weapons. It increases your firepower at the cost of more sway while aiming.

But that's not all: the grand prize! Free tickets to the zoo for whoever solved the hunt. Unfortunately, the zoo is now closed, along with the entire city. Too bad, Leon. This would've been really cool for you to do way back in 1998, but these things happen, I suppose.

If you look within the locker, there are some more fun easter eggs. In the back, there's a poster for Capcom classic Street Fighter Alpha. You can also see some sort of nondescript old game console from the 90s in there. It kind of looks like a PlayStation, but the controllers look like they belong to a Sega console. And the games are on discs.

Screenshot by Destructoid

Enjoy the nostalgia, Leon. Well, I guess you can be nostalgic for what could've been.

RE9 Requiem Leon

Leon S. Kennedy is a true icon of video games, up there with some of the greats after his humble beginnings in Resident Evil 2 on the PS1.

It's been pretty well-documented in Resident Evil Requiem's advertising that Leon is sick. Like some others, he has become afflicted with a virus that other Raccoon City survivors have been dying from. It results in a physical manifestation of some blackening of his skin, but it gets way worse in the events of the game.

Naturally, people are curious about his fate, and I've got the answers you seek, so be prepared for MASSIVE SPOILERS for Resident Evil Requiem in this article. You have been warned; the spoilers below discuss the fate of Leon S. Kennedy, an all-time gaming icon.

Stop reading now if you don't want to know what happens at the end of the game.

Does Leon Kennedy die in Resident Evil Requiem?

This is a simple answer with some caveats to it, since there are multiple endings in RE Requiem.

Resident Evil Requiem Leon Porsche
Image via Capcom

In one ending (the "bad" one), Leon does die. While playing as Grace at the climax of the game, if you choose to Destroy Elpis, Leon will die. And it's a pretty brutal death. While the facility collapses, Grace escapes and can only watch as Leon is blown away by Wesker-wannabe Zeno's massive hand cannon. The facility explodes, Grace escapes in a helicopter, and the credits roll.

While it's unclear at launch, it certainly does seem as though this is not the canon ending, however. Once the credits end, you're given the chance to go back and redo the decision, and you can Release Elpis. If you Release Elpis, it's revealed that it is actually a powerful anti-viral that Grace uses to cure Leon of his ailment.

Leon, ready as ever to kick some ass, then takes on the final boss in a mutated Victor Gideon, saves the day, and helps himself and Grace fully survive the events of the game. It sure seems like this is the canon ending of the RE Requiem.

In the game's final moments, Grace can be seen back at her desk at the FBI, and she's talking to Leon on the phone while discussing how the girl Emily that they rescued is doing well. A happy ending, and as happy as it could get considering Leon's earlier predicaments.

RE9 Requiem cover image
Image via Capcom

So, the answer to the question of "Does Leon die in Resident Evil Requiem?" is both yes and no, but the canon answer is (probably) no. We'll have to wait for official confirmation from Capcom on what the canon ending is, but if it's not the one where Leon survives, and everyone is happy, then that would be pretty bleak.

RE9 Requiem RPD

After 30 years of build-up, Resident Evil Requiem is here to close out an entire era of the beloved survival horror franchise.

If you haven't reached the end of the game, I suggest you get out of here now, unless you want to be spoiled completely. I do not recommend that, because RE Requiem is awesome, and I think everyone should experience it themselves. But, alas, here we are.

There are obviously MASSIVE SPOILERS down below if you haven't completed Resident Evil Requiem. Read everything at your own discretion. You have been warned. Stop reading now if you don't want to know what happens at the end of the game.

Seriously. Stop reading unless you're ready.

Resident Evil Requiem - Destroy Elpis or Release Elpis

In the climax of RE Requiem's events, Grace is left with the choice to either Destroy Elpis or Release Elpis into the world. If you have been picking up on the cues from the story revelations in the hours leading up to the event, it's a simple choice.

Resident Evil Requiem: 'What does the creator desire?' Explained

The important thing to note here is that the game will give you the chance to play and view the repercussions of both choices once the credits roll on your first try, which is great. But here's what happens for both decisions.

What happens if you Destroy Elpis in Resident Evil Requiem?

RE9 Requiem Leon
Screenshot by Destructoid

If you Destroy Elpis, the ARK facility begins to self-destruct and collapse into itself. In the cutscene that plays next, Grace escapes with the help of Leon, but the increasingly sick hero is on his last legs thanks to the Raccoon City survivor sickness ailing him, and he cannot join her.

Looking down upon Zeno and Leon, Grace can only watch in horror as Zeno uses his massive hand cannon to blow Leon to smithereens. Yeah. It's grisly. Grace then escapes before ARK is destroyed, leaving Leon (and presumably Zeno) to die in the wake.

Grace boards a helicopter, and the game comes to an end, and the credits roll. Congrats. This is the bad ending! It's so bad, in fact, that I don't understand why Capcom decided to make it an option.

What happens if you Release Elpis in Resident Evil Requiem?

Image via Capcom

If you choose to Release Elpis, as the game has been hinting you should do with the video interview with Umbrella founder Ozwell E. Spencer recorded by Alyssa Ashcroft, the real ending of RE Requiem begins.

The ever-eager Zeno, thinking that Elpis is a mega-virus that will enhance his Albert Wesker-like abilities, injects himself with it and quickly finds out the truth: Elpis is a powerful anti-viral. And so, he loses his powers and quickly finds out what it's like to be human again as Victor Gideon shows up mid-mutation and literally takes his head off.

Grace then gives Elpis to Leon, curing him of his ailment, and bringing back the veteran ass-kicker in top form once more. Thus kicks off the game's true final battle with the mutated Victor Gideon, and it's revealed that the former Umbrella researcher is actually infected with the same virus as Resident Evil 3's Nemesis. Yeah, that's why he's so persistent.

After winning the final battle, the real ending plays, and you can enjoy the trademark Resident Evil "holy shit, we survived" moments before the credits roll. But sit tight: there are some more scenes after the credits, too.

RE9 Requiem Leon

Triple-A games basically have Hollywood-style production in 2026, and Resident Evil Requiem is another one with some top-notch acting to go along with it.

Many of Resident Evil Requiem's scenes were filmed with performance capture, featuring most of the actors in motion capture suits, acting out the scene in real time in both vocal and physical nature. Nick Apostolides returns as Leon S. Kennedy after voicing the hero in the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, but the cast list includes many new additions, including new character Grace Ashcroft, along with some familiar faces and voices.

Check out the full list of the main cast in RE Requiem below, but beware spoilers. I suggest not reading the full list until you have completed the game, so consider coming back if you haven't yet.

Below, you can find the main and most notable cast members in RE Requiem. The cast list includes some heavy spoilers, so I've added some of the game's secret/unrevealed characters at the bottom of the list. Scroll at your own discretion.

Grace Ashcroft Angela Sant'Albano
Leon S. Kennedy Nick Apostolides
Emily/Chloe Emma Rose Creaner
Alyssa Ashcroft Jane Perry
Victor Gideon Antony Byrne
The Girl Weronika Maria

Harry Reed Alex Lanipekun
Hotel Manager Michael Matus
BSAA Squad Leader Joseph Millson
Commander Keith Silverstein
Umber Eyes Kane Murray

Ozwell E. Spencer James Clyde

The full-length cast list includes several more actors who did full performance capture in the mo-cap studio, while others simply voiced characters without putting on the get-up. No matter the circumstance, RE Requiem is full of some awesome performances that help bring the game to life in the most terrifying ways.

There's no possible way to craft a Canister, and it's available as random loot from different maps. However, you can also buy them in limited quantities from Celeste (more on that later).

Since the Canister is an uncommon loot, it's fairly easy to find. To be more precise, you'll want to look into areas that are tagged as Industrial on the map. I have also found them occasionally in residential areas like the Ruby Residence on the Dam Battlegrounds. The Hydrophonic Dome Complex is one specific location that always appears to spawn Canisters on my raids. I have marked the location in the image below.

For Canisters, I prefer sticking to the Dam Battlegrounds map. You can find the item on all maps, including Stella Montis. However, the Dam Battlegrounds map appears to be relatively safer, and I have encountered fewer raiders on average. This allows you to secure more loot for yourself and raise the chances of a successful extraction.

If you don't want to rely on your luck, you can purchase a fixed number of Canisters daily from Celeste. To buy, you'll need to spend Assorted Seeds. You can also get a Canister by recycling/salvaging the following items.

  • Bicycle Pump
  • Flame Spray
  • Humidifier
  • Mini Centrifuge
  • Smoke Grenade
  • Vita Spray
  • Water Filter

How to use Canister in ARC Raiders

If you're planning to complete the Weather Monitor System project, you'll need to find at least five Canisters. You'll then have to submit them to complete Stage 3 of the project. Doing so will also get you two Complex Gun Parts.

Aside from the project itself, you'll need Canister in the following recipes.

  • Bettina
  • Heavy Fuze Grenade
  • Shaker
  • Smoke Grenade
  • Vita Spray
  • Flame Spray

Hence, you'll need the item a lot, and more so if you're making explosives. Try to collect as many as you can on your raids to prevent falling short when required.
