Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Tuesday, March 31, 2026 5:53 PM There is always a risk with a live service game, or any game with only competitive elements, that it enters the Cool For Some Zone. This is a space that exists within a given game and also around it, a place where you can pull off Sick Tricks as a result of movement tech not purposefully included in the game, but born as an incidental result of mashing buttons in just the right way. And until today, Marathon found itself in said zone, but Bungie have made the call to patch out the offending issue. |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Tuesday, March 31, 2026 4:41 PM As pretty (and ugly) as the Resident Evil games have become over the years, there is a quality to the original PS1 entries that lingers on in the hearts of many. That'll likely be partially down to the permanently raised heart rates of kids playing them too young everywhere. But I think the thing that endures in the ever popular PS1 aesthetic in the indie horror scene is that nasty griminess that just feels so at home. And Vultures - Scavengers of Death, a turn-based, extractiony take on Resident Evil, looks like it'll stay true to that vibe. |

I hear its garbled voice and catch the yellow of its fire through the blinding white blocks of the summit. The tower itself is so bright on the outside you can barely identify objects placed on it, but I have smashed the crust and dug a network of passages, and it's shadier within. A realm of shining fog, slick as tooth enamel, with fissured, fugitive reflections that call to mind the beautiful quartz spacecraft in Noctis. The relative gloom inside the tower implies that the structure's external radiance is also a reflection. It appears to be caught in the glare of some celestial body, but if such a body exists, it emits radiation invisible to the naked eye, discernable only from its impact on other bodies. The skies of Lucid Blocks are dark and cloudy even by day, inasmuch as 'day' means anything in the game. There is one major astral feature, a hazy torus that neither rises nor sets, luminous enough to orient by when exploring the game's procedurally generated landscapes, but not enough to actually light your steps after dark. As part of the Japanese April Fools' Day 2026 announcements, Cover, City Connection, and Clover Lab released a browser-based Hololive Vtuber baseball game called Moero: Holo Yakyu that is based on Bases Loaded / Moero: Pro Yakyuu. It can be played on both PCs and mobile devices, with the official site offering an introduction to the game and link to the playable title.
There are three options to choose from when you load up Moero: Holo Yakyuu. The first one is a standard mode that gives you 20 tries to hit home runs, with Ookami Mio as the batter and Shirakami Fubuki as the pitcher. On a PC, you use the mouse to position Mio and press the left button to swing the batt. The second option locks Mio into the "bunt" stance and allows you to try to get 20 home runs that way. The final mode is an Endless option that allows you to try and get as many home runs as possible. I wasn't able to see a way to switch to a different playable character, though Inugami Korone and Nekomata Okayu both appear on the site.
This isn't the first time a Holo Indie baseball game with Hololive Vtubers appeared. There's also Koro-san's Home Wan Derby. That's a To You Games and Wit One game along the lines of Winnie the Pooh's Home Run Derby. It costs $3.90 on Steam.
Moero: Holo Yakyuu is available to play in browsers on PCs and mobile devices as a Hololive Holo Indie April Fools' Day 2026 game, and it's unknown how long it will remain online after the holiday.

On exactly April 1, 2026 in Japan, Square Enix "announced" NieR: Cosmic Horror on the Japanese account for games in the series. This was accompanied by a brief teaser video and a suggestion this is a "new project." Since it is only April Fools' Day 2026 in Japan now, this clip hasn't appeared on any NieR English-language channels yet. We'll have to wait and see if a similar video shows up everywhere tomorrow with an official translation. Given the date and time, this should be one of the company's jokes for the day just like the return of the FFVII Ever Crisis high school AU event.
Here's the full NieR: Cosmic Horror teaser that appeared on April Fools' Day 2026. It features a robotic entity with a tentacle for a head in front of Emil's face. The notation for this alleged project also said it is "coming soon."
In the meantime, most of the more recent (and real) NieR announcements had to do with Automata. For example, the anime adaptation launched. That's available to stream via Crunchyroll and is complete. (Physical Blu-rays are only available in Japan.) At the end of 2025, Square Enix also updated the Switch version of the game so it would be playable on the Switch 2. Most importantly, a February 2026 video from Square Enix ended with "NieR: Automata to be continued," suggesting a sequel or additional project is in the works.
NieR: Automata is available on the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the anime is on Crunchyroll, and Square Enix's books division handled a number of spin-off books worldwide. NieR showed up on the PS3 and Xbox 360, while NieR Replicant launched on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. NieR Reincarnation was available on mobile devices, but shut down in April 2024. The NieR: Cosmic Horror teaser appeared on April Fools' Day 2026.

Blaze Entertainment announced another Evercade gaming handheld called the Evercade Nexus. It will be available in standard and 64 Edition variants. The base model, which comes with the Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack, costs $199.99/£169.99/ €199.99. Only 2,000 of the special edition bundle inspired by the N64 will be made and sold at Funstock for $229.99/£189.99/€229.99. Both versions will release in October 2026, with the Funstock listing showing an October 30, 2026 date. This is only a new variant to follow the EXP and EXP-R that is compatible with all past Evercade cartridges, and does not mark a new generation with exclusive carts.
The Evercade Nexus seems like it will be about the size of, say, a Switch Lite, as it has ultra bright 5.89 inch IPS screen. (Nintendo's system has a 5.5 inch IPS screen.) It is compatible with local multiplayer via EverSync. Like the Switch 2 GameShare, this means two people who each own this type of Evercade gaming handheld can play the same game with only one cartridge. No internet connection is required. Like devices such as the Switch and Vita, there are two joysticks on the front. It also offers TATE mode support, charges via USB-C, and supports wireless headphones.
Depending on which bundle you get, different items are packed in the box. The less expensive version of the system includes the Evergade gaming handheld, the Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack cartridge with both Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, and a USB-C to USB-A cable to charge it. The 64 edition includes the different variant of the system, a glass creen protector, a hard shell carrying case, an A3 double-sided Evercade poster that shows past systems and hhandhelds, and a certificate of authenticity.
Here's the official reveal trailer. At the 1:12 mark, the 64 Edition bundle appears.
This will be the second Evercade variant that includes Banjo-Kazooie. The Rare Super Pocket launches in June 2026 and features it too. However, instead of coming with the cartridge, the handheld has it and 11 other Rare games built into it. However, that device does have a cartridge slot that supports other Evercade releases.
The Evercade Nexus will launch in October 2026 worldwide and include the Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack cartridge.

For April Fools' Day 2025, Square Enix kicked off a Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis alternative universe storyline event, and now it confirmed that the FFVII Ever Crisis Academy Seven: Episode – Brawler AU is back again tonight. This also means the school uniform costumes for Aerith and Tifa and athletic gear teacher outfit for Barret will be updated with C Abilities for the first time. Everything shows up at 7pm PT/10pm ET on March 31, 2026. It's unknown if there will be new content, like additional costumes or weapons for characters like Cloud, young Sephiroth, Angeal, or Zack or a second book that continues that storyline, as of time of writing.
As a reminder, the FFVII Ever Crisis Academy Seven: Episode - Brawler also acted as a bit of a self-insertion storyline as well as a high school AU with members of the casts of The First Soldier, Crisis Core, and original Final Fantasy VII storylines. Instead of warring groups, there's the Midgard Seventh High School where Barret is a teacher and baseball team coach, Cloud is a delinquent student who wants to become the school's Brawler: First Class, Tifa is his childhood friend, Aerith is a delinquent and leader of the gang Team Cetra, and Zack is the current Brawler: First Class at the high school. Their rivals are Shinra Private Academy, where Angeal is the student council president and Sephiroth is the vice president, and Glenn, Lucia, and Matt are teachers. The first time around, we could earn the Folding Ruler "sword" and Set Square "axe" weapons for young Sephiroth and Glenn by going through the event.
As for the original banners, there were three. Tifa's involved her Class President's Bracelet weapon and Seventh High School Uniform costume. This update version of the gear adds the Ultra Student Council Windstrike wind-based attack C Ability and the updated Physical & Magical Ward R Ability that is 15 pt instead of 10. The Aerith Team Leader's Bamboo Sword and Seventh High Team Cetra Uniform high school uniform costume appeared too. That gear now has the Ultra Water Orb Blast C Ability that deals AOE water damage, and its Boost HP R Ability is stronger. Finally, Barret's Teacher's Paper Fan and Seventh High Athletic Gear will both be back. The outfit has Ultra Winds of Discipline that deals AOE wind damage and he also gets the same upgraded Physical & Magic Ward boost as Tifa.
Here are the official infographics from Square Enix that show how the equipment sets look and the exact upgrades.
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available for PCs and mobile devices, and the FFVII Ever Crisis Academy Seven: Episode – Brawler AU and its Aerith, Barret, and Tifa school uniform and costume and weapon banners return on March 31, 2026.

Atlus and Funko announced that the Pop series of figures will soon include five Persona protagonists from the third through fifth games and ever-present Velvet Room attendant Igor. They join existing characters in the line like past Persona 5 ones of Joker, his Persona Arsene, and allies like Queen and Mona. This is one of many merchandise announcements announced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Persona series. Pre-orders are open direct through Funko and Amazon, though some will be available at other retailers eventually. Each one costs $14.99, and they release on June 7, 2026.
All six of the new Persona series Funko Pop figures are around four inches tall, with the Persona 4 protagonist Yu Narukami being shortest at about 3.8 inches as a result of his pose. Likewise, the position of Joker from Persona 5, Wonder from Persona 5: The Phantom X, and Persona 3 Portable heroine Kotone Shiomi mean they all are about 4.4 inches tall. Each of the figures are in their battle-ready costumes and wield their canon weapons from their respective games. Meanwhile, Igor is in his chair from the Velvet Room.
Note that some of these figures might prove a bit more difficult to get than others. The first images confirmed that two are exclusively sold by Funko. So if you want to get the Persona series staple Igor or the Persona 5: The Phantom X protagonist Wonder, you need to buy them from that online store.
Here's how all six of the new figures look:
This is the second selection of Atlus game characters to join the Funko Pop figure line. Earlier in March 2026, the company shared new Metaphor: ReFantazio ones. Those involved some of Will's allies and the villain Louis.

Pocketpair's Palworld: More Than Just Pals dating sim saga continues, as it went from a 2024 joke to a 2025 announcement with Steam product page. Now for April Fools' Day 2026, there's a new gameplay video that begins with CEO Takuro Mizobe and Head of Publishing John "Bucky" Buckley discussing the project. This is also paired with an update to the game's listing that confirms there will be a horror element to the visual novel.
The first half of the video is a more lighthearted segment that explains how Palworld: More Than Just Pals started as an April Fools' Joke that is on its way to becoming an actual game. While Mizobe plays Slay the Spire 2 on a handheld gaming PC, Buckley goes over how they plan to make the game even though the 1.0 version of Palworld will appear this year and it meant hiring additional staff.
At the 1:20 mark of the video, actual Palworld: More Than Just Pals gameplay appears. This means seeing some of the human and Pal love interests. Zoe is the first to show up, with Chillet Ignis, Tarantriss, Katress, and Saya showing up after that. This video marks our first peek at the horror elements of the game, as a strange memory seems to surface when discovering a Sphere at the 1:47 mark and a time loop seems to kick in.
Here's the full 2026 Palworld dating sim trailer. While the horror elements are teased, there are no major spoilers in it.
There are some additional screenshots showing off some of the other characters and romance options too. Here's how all of those humans and Pals look:
Palworld: More Than Just Pals is in development for PCs, and Palworld is in early access for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

IKEA in Japan will collaborate with The Pokemon Company and Nintendo for a Pokemon Pokopia event both in real life and in-game. You can check out Pokopia-inspired showrooms in Japan between April 1, 2026 and May 10, 2026, and you can visit an IKEA cloud island until June 30, 2026. The code to visit the islands will be in-stores, and it hasn't shown up online yet. The worldwide branches of IKEA aren't participating.
This collaboration campaign celebrates the 20th anniversary of IKEA in Japan, as well as the 30th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise and launch of the game. During this event, you can go to stores in Japan to check out showrooms that IKEA has recreated in Pokemon Pokopia. There will be two types of rooms: one based on Pikachu (including Peakychu), and one based on Snorlax (seemingly not including Mosslax). While you can take pictures of these showrooms, IKEA asked that you let others take turns if it's busy. Some IKEA stores will have both displays, and some will have one.
These showrooms also contain the address for IKEA's cloud islands. The exception will be the IKEA in Okayama. You will need to actually go to the IKEA stores to get the address, so unless someone posts them online, these cloud islands are essentially Japan-exclusive. Not only can you check out these IKEA-like designs for inspiration, you can also take pictures to 3D print back in your own game if IKEA owns something you don't have yet by taking an in-game photo.
During the campaign, IKEA will also hold a stamp rally. You can go around the store to find stations with Pokemon on them, and each station will teach you some trivia about IKEA. In total, there will be seven stamps to collect, and you can bring them home as a souvenir.
Pokemon Pokopia is readily available on the Switch 2. The IKEA collaboration event with Pokopia is only available in Japan.

Kotobukiya announced four Mega Man series figures will appear throughout 2026, with the hero appearing first and being followed by Roll, Dr Light, and Dr Wily. Pre-orders are live for all four of them via the US storefront. However, note that the two doctors are only available as a pair and aren't sold separately. Previously, the company released a number of model kits of characters from the series.
Mega Man will be the first in this Oshi Works figure series to appear. He'll show up in October 2026 worldwide. That will cost $59.99. The pose used makes it look like he's about to fire his Mega Buster. Pre-orders for that one close on April 24, 2026. He's the shortest figure in the line at just over seven inches tall (180mm), since he's crouching a bit as he prepares to fire.
Roll will appear after him, as her figure launches in November 2026. She will also cost $59.99. That figure features a neutral pose, with the heroine's arms at her side. As such, she stands at about seven and a half inches tall (190mm). Pre-orders for that one closes on May 12, 2026.
As for the Dr Light and Dr Wily figures, both of them are over eight and a half inches tall (220mm), though Wily does seem a bit taller. Each is wearing their lab coats. Light's hands are at his sides, while Wily's are in his pockets. Those will appear in a bundle together for $79.99 in December 2026. However, while packaged together, they are not attached at the base and can be displayed separately. That pre-order ends on June 9, 2026.
Here's how all of those figures look:
The Mega Man series Oshi Works figures will appear between October 2026 and December 2026. Mega Man will show up first in October 2026. Roll will follow in November 2026. The two doctors will be paired together and sold in December 2026.

The Canto is one of the two new weapons in ARC Raiders that can be found post the launch of the Flashpoint update. You can find it from looting the body of a downed opponent, but ideally, you'll want to find the weapon's blueprint. That way, you can craft it whenever you have the correct resources.
Let's find out how you can find the blueprint in the first place.
Table of contents
How to find the Canto blueprint in ARC Raiders
As I mentioned, the Canto is one of the two new guns. While the Dolabra is strictly tied to the Close Scrutiny map condition, the Canto's blueprint seems to be tied to the Hurricane map condition. I am unsure if this is the only way to obtain it, but the blueprint seems to appear in First Wave Raider caches.
First Wave Raider caches can be found on a map when the Hurricane map condition is active. These caches can be found on all maps (except Stella Montis) but only when the storm is active. These caches, in general, are extremely well-rewarding when you're trying to find blueprints.
Unfortunately, the Canto doesn't have a fixed spawn location. It's also possible that the weapon or its blueprint could be part of a future project (as rewards). For the time being, the best option is to open as many First Raider Wave caches and hope to get lucky.
As an alternative, you can also try your luck with high-tier loot areas on maps. These named POIs are highlighted by a red border. I have tried a few spots (namely, the Pilgrim's Peak in Blue Gate and the Control Tower in Dam Battlegrounds), but I didn't find the Canto (or its blueprint).
How to craft the Canto in ARC Raiders
Once you've obtained the blueprint, you can craft the weapon if you have a Level 3 Gunsmith workstation. You're also going to need the following resources:
The Canto is far cheaper to make compared to the Dolabra. While teh Canto is pretty fun to use, it lacks in damage. You'll need to get a few upgrades to make it viable in PvP (I will avoid using this in PvE).

NieR, an incredible franchise directed by Yoko Taro, has laid dormant since 2017. Outside of the first game's remake, we haven't seen any new mainline NieR titles. That could be about to change, though Square Enix really chose the worst day of the year to put out a teaser.
On the official NieR X account, a video was shared teasing something new in the franchise. This new "project" as the post says is supposedly called NieR: Cosmic Horror, with a cryptic message really laying out some strong philosophical concepts that are honestly to be expected from this series.
The message reads like a verse, saying, "Born in nothingness, is it hope? Or is it despair in the name of salvation?" (automatically translated) What that means exactly is anyone's guess, as the video doesn't provide much context outside of showing us the franchise's mascot Emil and a humanoid figure reminiscent of the Xenomorph from the Alien franchise.
While this is amazing news if it turns out to be a new game, it should be noted that it's currently April 1 in Japan, and you know the entire world loves to go wild with teases and jokes to celebrate April Fools. It's genuinely impossible to tell whether Square Enix actually put out a teaser or is just messing with us, but either way the publisher definitely chose the worst day to make an announcement.
However, I'm not sure if a major publisher like this would abuse the goodwill of its fanbase just to pull a fast one. It'd be funny, sure, but not something that I'd expect a giant megacorporation to do or even want to do.
If it does turn out to be a new game, that'd be the first mainline NieR entry since NieR: Automata, which came out all the way back in 2017. It was a tremendously fun game and certainly one of my favorites, not only because of its combat but also its smashing blend of post-apocalypse, science fiction, and cyberpunk art styles. There aren't really any similar games out there, and I'd be ecstatic to see another made.
Well, I guess we'll know soon, once the Day of the Joke has passed.

Call of Duty's commitment to "grounded" and "immersive" operator skins comes to an end in season three of Black Ops 7. Welcome back, weird collabs.
Season three of BO7 will add the Half Baked Tracer Pack, featuring Dave Chappelle's likeness from the 1998 movie of the same name. Half Baked is a stoner classic film, and so for the upcoming 4/20 holiday, you'll be able to play as the movie's main character Thurgood Jenkins, as played by Chappelle. Yeah.
If you're confused by the news, you're not alone. Last year, Activision made a big deal out of the fact that BO7 would be steering away from outlandish collabs like last year's Beavis & Butthead or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles operator skins. But that only lasted until season three, I suppose.
"We know there's been a lot of conversation recently about the identity of Call of Duty," Activision said last August. "Some of you have said we've drifted from what made Call of Duty unique in the first place: immersive, intense, visceral and in many ways grounded. That feedback hits home, and we take it seriously. We hear you."
Earlier in the year, BO7 had a collab with the Fallout TV series for Prime Video, and those skins were relatively well-received, especially considering they're from a video game series, and a beloved one at that. This one, I think, misses the mark by quite a bit, and the community reactions have reflected as much.
"In Black Ops 7, bundles and items will be crafted to fit the Black Ops identity," Treyarch said last summer. "We hear the feedback. We need to deliver a better balance toward the immersive, core Call of Duty experience." Personally, I'd love to know how Thurgood Jenkins fits Black Ops, but that's a story for another day.
CoD's 4/20-themed skins must sell well, because they have been a constant. Previous years featured skins for Cheech and Chong and Seth Rogen. Mr. Chappelle will be joining them in a few weeks time to blaze it up on the battlefield.

ARC Raiders players have a new enemy to deal with, and you'll need to do so to get Vaporizer Regulators for your inventory. Of course, you'll get them by damaging and destroying Vaporizers. However, this is an incredibly strong ARC to deal with, so let's look at what the best strategy is.
Table of contents
How to get Vaporizer Regulators in ARC Raiders
The best way to get the Regulators is by destroying Vaporizers. The Regulators appear to be guaranteed drops from Vaporizer salvage unless someone else has already looted it. You can only find a Vaporizer during the Close Scrutiny map condition (as of writing).
If you're still having trouble, you can always try to find an Assessor for guaranteed spawns.
How to destroy a Vaporizer in ARC Raiders
So you have found a Vaporizer, which is great. If you try to shoot it like a Wasp, the results will be terrible. You'll be melted in seconds, especially if you get hit by its main laser.
First, find a well-sheltered location that allows you to kite the Vaporizer. This is a must as you'll need the shelter to escape its laser shots. Next, use weapons that have good range and amazing damage. The Aphelion is my favorite, but it's legendary. Chances are that you might not have it.
A fully upgraded Renegade can do quite well if you can hit the small rotors on its sides. However, there's a fair amount of skill associated with the process. You can also bring the Hullcracker. With this gun, you don't need to aim much. Just empty a full clip without missing any shot and the Vaporizer will get vaporized instead.
You can also use the Wolfpack. While I have used this explosive so far to take down the Rocketeer, it works just as well with the Vaporizer. It's expensive to craft a Wolfpack, but they're well worth your resources if you're looking to farm Vaporizer Regulators.
How to use Vaporizer Regulators in ARC Raiders
The Flashpoint update has added teh Dolabra gun, which is a terrific weapon to use in general. If you have found its blueprint, you're going to need Vaporizer Rugulators to craft the weapon. Each Dolabra requires two Vaporizer Regulators, three Shredder Gyros, and three Magnetic Accelerators.
You can also recycle them to get one Advanced Electrical Component and two ARC Circuitry. However, the High-Gain Antenna player project is currently active, and two of its stages require you to donate Vaporizer Regulators. Hence, try to save the required amount first and then do whatever you want with this material.

The Assessor Matrix is a new crafting material that you can find in ARC Raiders as part of the Flashpoint update. This material can only be found during a specific map condition, and you'll need it for different reasons.
First, let's find out how you can obtain the material.
Table of contents
How to get the Assessor Matrix in ARC Raiders
To find the Assessor Matrix, you'll need to wait for the Close Scrutiny event. While this event only appears during a certain time of day, it can be active on any of the available maps (except Stella Montis).
When this map condition is active, ARC Assessors will spawn on the map at random locations. To get the Assessor Matrix, you'll need to loot the dropships. However, this is easier said than done. Once you're near one, look at the sky to spot three red beams.
Every Assessor has three containers for you to breach and search for loot. Enemies will guard these containers, so you'll need to be careful. Once you're near the ship, wait for the platform to show up. Use the platform to climb up and search the containers. If you're in a group, any two of you should keep the ARCs distracted.
If you're lucky, you should be able to find the Assessor Matrix in the containers. You could even obtain the blueprint for the Dolabra, which is a new shotgun.
How to use the Assessor Matrix in ARC Raiders
So far, the Assessor Matrix appears to be required for completing the stages of the recent High-Gain Antenna player project. This project has three different stages, and you'll need the Assessor Matrix to complete the tasks of the second and third stages.
It's definitely worth taking the extra risk to collect the Assessor Matrix when the Close Scrutiny event is active.

Ever since June 2025, and especially after last September, RAM prices have soared and reached levels no one could have anticipated. Following the GPU crisis of 2020, as well as subsequent supply line issues caused by COVID, we thought we were in the clear, but then a new technology decided it wanted all the resources for itself.
But now, the tide might be turning as AI-obsessed memory producers have been experiencing stock dumps that have already started to affect RAM prices positively. Following OpenAI's woes with securing funding for some of its projects after Disney backed out of funding Sora, which was then shuttered (thanks Yahoo Finance), concern grew over whether the company would even need, or have the means to, secure as much memory stock as it previously ate up.
Sam Altman's venture has been the driving force behind AI development and was the biggest customer for undiced wafers, but is now losing ground to competitors like Anthropic, potentially impacting its needs for more memory. On top of that, Google has been making tremendous developments in AI efficiency, promising to cut memory cost while improving performance, potentially allowing manufacturers to leave some RAM on the table for the consumer market.
Hardware Canucks reports that Altman allegedly didn't "buy" the wafers but was actually sending Letters of Intent, and since OpenAI seems to no longer want to go through with these purchases, the memory market immediately felt it.
And amid these developments, RAM manufacturers like Micron were immediately hit with stock dumps, impacting their share prices and driving RAM prices down in certain markets. According to Videocardz (via TrendForce), DDR5 RAM kits in Germany have lost value for the first time in eight months, while the United States has seen a 20 percent decline in certain cases. In China, RAM prices dropped by around $14 in a day, signaling the start of a long-awaited trend.
Micron's stock recovered a bit today, but it's now at the same level it was around the start of the year, having lost 18 percent of its value in the last 24 hours. SK Hynix, another major manufacturer that leaned heavily into AI prospects, lost 20 percent of its stock value in the last five days following initial concerns over OpenAI's ability to secure future funding.
Even Samsung Electronics, though not primarily a RAM producer, lost 13 percent of its value in the same time frame.
Micron notably shuttered its consumer-grade brand Crucial in favor of pursuing corporate customers, and that seems to have backfired a bit, though things could just as easily turn around in the long run.
The trend, which saw RAM prices more than quadruple, could be slowly stopping. If the above is to continue, then we're surely going to see a decrease in RAM costs (and anything memory-related drop in price, such as SSDs and other technologies) and perhaps finally get our hands on the Steam Machine, itself delayed almost indefinitely as the memory crisis persists.
Furthermore, the PlayStation 6 and the new Xbox could maintain their affordable, mid-range prices if memory goes back to being somewhat normal by the time they're ready to be shipped and launched. However, another problem now looms over the gaming industry, that of oil prices, primarily driven by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Price hikes in dollars per barrel have already produced adverse effects in gaming, such as Sony's decision to make every version of the PlayStation 5 substantially more expensive. Though some speculated that it could be because of RAM, obscenely expensive oil and shipping costs were the next most probable cause.
Either way, I hope RAM doesn't get as impacted by supply chain and shipping issues, but it isn't out of the question. We're finally seeing a downward trend, and all we can do now is hope for the best, as AI companies scramble to find more infinite money that they do not have from companies that don't have it either.

Last Entry is one of the many quests that have been added to ARC Raiders as part of the Flashpoint update. All its tasks have to be completed in a single run, which certainly makes things a bit trickier.
Let's look at how to finish all the tasks in this quest.
Table of contents
ARC Raiders Last Entry quest walkthrough
The Last Entry quest can be broken down into the following tasks.
Find and access the right workstation in the Seed Vault for clues
The first location is quite close to the Seed Vault POI, and I have marked the spot. You don't have to enter the Seed Vault as the location is right outside. Once you reach the terminal, you'll be able to interact with it to look for clues.
Search for the hidden key in the adjacent room
The hidden key is quite easy to find. Head straight from the terminal, and take the first room on your left. Go inside, and look for a set of hazmat suits hanging from a rack. The suits are to your left, and you can interact with those to find the Seed Vault Box Key.
Search the seed box
Once you have the Seed Vault Box Key, you can unlock the entrance to the vault (next to the terminal of the first task). Open the shutters, and keep heading straight until you come across another terminal that allows you to get the Official Shutdown Documentation.
You'll need to bring this document safely back to Shani in Speranza to complete the quest.

It's that time of year again, Pokémon trainers—the time for pranks, practical jokes, and Mankeying around. Pokopia is getting in on the shenanigans for April Fools' Day with a new item: the Inflatable Sudowoodo decoration, and it's one you'll be able to get for only a limited time.
The Inflatable Sudowoodo decoration is exactly what it sounds like: a balloon shaped like the Rock type. The furniture item resembles one of those inflatable men you might see outside of a car dealership that blows around in the wind and wildly waves its arms in the air. "A balloon shaped like Sudowoodo," the item's description reads. "It stands up and dances around just like a real Sudowoodo too!"
The Inflatable Sudowoodo is only available for you to claim on April 1. Like other limited-time events in Pokopia, though, you can time-travel to it by going into your Nintendo Switch 2's system settings and changing the clock. When you restart the game, it'll be whatever day your system's clock is set to.
Whenever you wake up on April Fools' Day, you'll get an interesting message at the Pokémon Center PC saying the Pokémon want to do something "a little different from usual." If you open the PC's challenges menu, you'll see a new entry that tasks you with correctly answering three special quizzes, which will be given to you by the resident Pokémon inhabiting your town.
To start each quiz, you'll need to look for three dots above Pokémon's heads and then speak to them. It may take you a minute to find Pokémon with the quest indicator, but they can be any inhabitant of your current location, or you can travel to one of the other regions to look for one.
For the quizzes, the Pokémon will pretend to be another resident in your village. They'll ask you who they're pretending to be, and you'll have to pick between two other Pokémon. If you get it wrong, it won't count towards your total, and you'll need to take another quiz. Get it right, though, and you're one step closer to obtaining an Inflatable Sudowoodo.
Once you've correctly answered all three quizzes, head back to the PC to claim your reward. It will automatically appear in your inventory, as is the case when you purchase a furniture item directly from the PC Shop menu. Whenever you place the Sudowoodo toy on the ground, it'll blow around in the wind as if it were dancing. You can only get one per April Fools' Day, so if you want to create your very own Sudowoodo army, you'll need to time-travel to future April Fools' Days and repeat the challenge.

Though we've had some amazing The Lord of the Rings games over the years, a big-budget RPG title set in Tolkien's Middle-earth has long eluded us, but that could be about to change. According to rumors, Kingdom Come: Deliverance developer Warhorse Studios is working on a big-budget LOTR game, seemingly backed by investors from the UAE.
Last October, Insider Gaming wrote that a huge The Lord of the Rings game was in development, backed by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office out of the United Arab Emirates, which reportedly invested $100 million into this supposed title. The IP is owned by Embracer Group, one of the parties said to be involved in this deal, and a publisher that previously had dealings with Arabian investors.
Now, a new rumor has cropped up suggesting it is Warhorse Studios, creator of Kingdom Come: Deliverance and a subsidiary of Embracer, that will be developing the game. As one user on Resetera pointed out, Ryszard Chojnowski, a Polish game development veteran, said he had heard that a big-time The Lord of the Rings game was in the works a few months ago, adding that indications of that happening have only increased recently.
"A few days ago, news literally broke that a so-called AAA title is in development, a major open-world game set in the Lord of the Rings universe, full of adventure and backed by substantial funding," Chojnowski said in a Tolkien-themed podcast, Tolkien Polska (machine translated).
"Now investors from the United Arab Emirates have put up $100 million. A completely unknown studio called Revenge is handling it, though many people claim that this might just be a code name to throw people off and that Warhorse is actually making it," he said, echoing claims first made by Insider Gaming back in October.
"I'll tell you, I first heard the rumor that it might be Warhorse a few months ago, but I dismissed it. I mean, how could that possibly be?" he added.
"Now it's come up again, and it makes more sense when you hear something repeated in the same context. So that would be wonderful, because I think that Warhorse, if you take a look at the graphics from Kingdom Come: Deliverance, at how beautifully the landscapes, forests, fields, ruins, castles, estates, and taverns are depicted there, you'll understand that if they got together to create this game, it would certainly look mesmerizingly beautiful," Chojnowski said.
"And they're also masters at creating really interesting missions and storylines, so I think it would be a match made in heaven."
Whether Warhorse is really behind this The Lord of the Rings game remains speculation for now, but as Chojnowski points out, this studio is full of very experienced developers who've proven their worth more than once with the Kingdom Come: Deliverance series, especially when it comes to making a game as beautiful as it can be while performing flawlessly across the board.
Where I'm a little worried is that, given its recent run-ins with AI and heavy pursuit of that technology, Warhorse's writing, potentially the most important aspect of any Middle-earth story, could be adversely impacted and result in a subpar tale told in the most groundbreaking fantasy universe ever. That's just me and all of my doom and gloom, and I would love to be wrong.
But, then again, expect nothing, and you won't be disappointed.

The Dolabra shotgun is one of the two new weapons in ARC Raiders that you can obtain, but the first step is to get its blueprint. The weapon seems to pack a punch in terms of its damage, and it works exceptionally well in the Close Scrutiny map condition.
Let's look at how to find the blueprint so that you can craft the weapon for your raids.
Table of contents
How to obtain the Dolabra blueprint in ARC Raiders
To find the blueprint, you'll need to loot the ARC Assessor dropships. You can find the dropship when the Close Scrutiny map condition is active. These large platforms are easy to locate, and they emit a light beam once they're active.
Getting the blueprint isn't a piece of cake. For starters, the Assessor is well-guarded, so you need to be careful when trying to go for loot. Second, other raiders might have the same idea, and will try to catch you unawares.
Finally, the Dolabra isn't a guaranteed drop. However, I managed to get it on my second run with the Close Scrutiny map condition. The blueprint seems to be quite common from the looks of it. While the Assessor is first-come, first-served, it offers three containers to potentially loot.
How to craft the Dolabra in ARC Raiders
Once you've found the blueprint, you'll need to have the Gunsmith upgraded to level 3. Then, you'll need the following materials.
The cost of the weapon is pretty high, but the different firing patterns (based on how you aim) are not just a gimmick. It also makes the Dolabra immensely flexible, which suits different situations.

The High-Gain Antenna project is now live in ARC Raiders following the start of the Flashpoint update, and you can complete it to gain some valuable rewards. Like previous projects, there are different stages to complete, each having its own set of requirements.
This guide will help you figure out all the requirements and the rewards that are on offer.
Disclaimer: Work in progress.
Table of contents
How to complete the High-Gain Antenna project in ARC Raiders
So far, all the projects we got have had five levels. The High-Gain Antenna project, in contrast, has three stages. Each stage has four tasks to complete. To complete the tasks, you'll need to submit specific materials that can be found in raids. When you donate these items, they will be removed from your inventory. However, you'll be rewarded with bonus items.
Stage 1: Sturdy Base
Stage 2: Data Logger
Stage 3: Parabolic Dish
When will the High-Gain Antenna project expire from ARC Raiders
As of writing, there's no end date for the project. However, it's safe to assume that the project will be available until the next major update, which should happen sometime in April if Embark continues with the same rhythm.
If you're willing to complete the project, my advice is to finish it as quickly as possible. While it will take some time for you to collect all the materials, here's a bunch of new quests you can complete in the meantime.

It feels like Overwatch just dropped five new heroes (it did, in February), but the game's 51st playable character is somehow already on the way.
Season two of the new and improved Overwatch (without the 2 in the title) is coming in two weeks on April 14, and Blizzard has already begun the teases with a first look at the new hero, and she looks like she's bringing a cute drone friend with her:
Blizzard didn't reveal any info about her just yet, but she looks like a hi-tech soldier of some kind with a long rifle, a pink bird-like drone, and a very long ponytail that I hope she's able to whip around and use as a weapon. And obviously, she's adorable.
But between the gun, drone, and her Widowmaker-like hair length, she might have quite the kit (Blizzard actually confirmed that the new hero's hair is longer than Widowmaker's). Odds are that she will be another new Damage hero, too.
This newest character will mark the sixth addition to the roster already in 2026, and there's still four more in the works throughout the end of the year in Overwatch's re-brand and mega-update to focus more on lore, in-game events, a UI refresh, and a lot more that began last month.
Blizzard told me that the new character's name and trailer will be revealed next week, but I'm sure Overwatch lore hounds will already figure out and infer a lot about her by then. There's some speculation that she's from the Helix Security International faction, but I'll leave the discussion up to those more in the know than me at this point.
The new hero will join the roster officially when season two of Overwatch kicks off in a couple weeks on April 14, but more will be revealed in the hero trailer on April 8.

The Settled in Full quest is one of several new ones in ARC Raiders as part of the Flashpoint update. This is one of the more straightforward quests where you immediately know what needs to be done.
That makes it no less daunting, however, since you'll need to take down the Bastion.
Table of contents
ARC Raiders Settled in Full quest walkthrough
The Settled in Full quest can be broken down into two parts.
How to destroy a Bastion
The Bastion is one of the hardest enemies to take down. It spawns in random locations, and you can find it on every map if you're lucky enough. However, an easy way to find it is just to start a round where the Matriarch map event is live.
The Bastion, along with the Bombardier, the Rocketeer, and the Leaper, will always accompany the Matriarch. When you're part of the event, you'll also have other players join your cause. To take down the Bastion, you'll want to target its canister at the back specifically. That's its weak spot, and it will blow up if you do enough damage.
However, you can also target its legs to destabilize it, which then makes it easier to take it down. If you have legendary weapons, you can either use the Aphelion or the Jupiter. If you don't have those, the Hullcracker is a solid option as well.
As for explosives, the Trailblazer works well, but you'll want to be in proximity. If you want to get crazy, try getting on the Bastion and planting a Deadline. This isn't something I've tried, but I'd love to see it happen.
Once the Bastion is down, you'll want to loot it to get a Bastion Cell. Move it to the Safe Pocket lest you die before a safe extraction. Speak with Tian Wen to return the items, and you'll finish the Settled in Full quest.
You'll get 30 Raider Tokens as the reward.

A new Marathon update is live, and while it's mainly full of bug fixes and minor tweaks, one of the game's classes just got a big nerf to its movement tech.
Sorry, Thief players, but the fix is in. Marathon gamers quickly found out over the game's first couple of weeks that there was a movement exploit to "slide cancel" with the Thief Runner Shell's Grapple Device ability. It's now gone.
"One of our core philosophies for Marathon is that rapid repositioning and aggression must always have a meaningful cost," Bungie said in the patch notes. "That cost can be an ability charge, heat buildup, or increased risk but it must exist and be understandable to an observer. Unbounded movement, while expressive and clip-worthy, is ultimately unhealthy for the pace of play we want to maintain for Marathon. To set expectations early, we will be looking at any future movement exploits through the same lens."
If you give any competitive gamer the opportunity to game the system a bit, they'll usually take it. This is especially true for Destiny players, many of whom have migrated to Marathon, as they have been figuring out ways to cheese their in-game movement for over a decade.

Furtive Meetings is a new quest in ARC Raiders, introduced as part of the Flashpoint update. It will take you on an adventure on Stella Montis. All tasks of this contract have to be completed in a single run, which makes it potentially tough.
Let's look at how to complete all the tasks in this quest.
Table of contents
ARC Raiders Furtive Meetings quest walkthrough
The Furtive Meetings quest can be broken down into the following tasks.
Search for the secret meeting spot under a staircase in the Medical Research
The first location is at the southern end of the Medical Research POI. This is a high-tier loot area, so you need to be careful about enemies. I have marked the location you need to reach.
Once you reach the spot, you'll find a set of stairs. Don't take the stairs, and instead go underneath. You'll find a logo on the wall along with the prompt to photograph the meeting spot.
Find the secret meeting spot near the ventilation shaft between Robotic Sanbox B and Seed Vault
The second spot is between the Seed Vault and the Robotic Sandbox B location. I have marked the spot to make it easy for you to find. Once there, you'll find the same symbol (that you photographed in the first task).
Interact with the symbol to click its photo and complete the second task.
Find the secret meeting spot at the bottom of the staircase connecting the Cultural Archives and Seed Vault
From the second secret spot, continue straight along the corridor through the ventilation shaft, and take the first left. Head straight once again, and you'll reach the final secret meeting spot. I have marked the exact spot above.
Once you take a photograph, search the spot, and you'll find a cardboard box. This box contains Secret Meeting Info that you'll need to bring back safely and return it to Shani.
